Some things gained back n̷̹͒e̷͍͛͝v̵̠̬͎̉ẽ̵̖̣̮͂͂r̴̪͒̐̈́ ̵̮̬̅͌ģ̶̰̑e̴̤̥̗͊̓̀t̵͚͚͝ ̴̨̆̓t̴̩̼̐o̴̟̰͗̏͠ ̴̟̦͂̍b̴̗̟̊ͅè̸͂ͅ ̵̺̺̎̋̐ẘ̵͇͉ȟ̵̝̺̫̆ö̸̺̬̮l̷̹̜̽̓̋e̴̼͉͖̊̎̄ ̷͙͍̪̕a̸̛̺͈̽̑g̶̩̝̅̋͆a̴̞͎͗̓̈i̴̙͎̥͝ǹ̸̺̌̚ Maglor and Maedhros in Himring, short fic under the cut
It was in the dead of the night, usually. When Maedhros had cried himself back into sleep by sheer exhaustion, Maglor held his eldest brother, to which he still looked up so much and loved so much it hurt. Patiently, he had soothed Maedhros since his nightmares had woken him an hour into the night, had provided him with warm milk laced with honey, bandages for the "accident" on his arm that Maedhros did not want to talk about, thick blankets and his own embrace, soft words of encouragement, endearments Maglor was not sure even managed to get through to Maedhros. They had come a long way since their cousin had brought him back from Thangorodrim, and it was a task Maglor had not exactly volunteered for, but knew he was suited, needed for, even. None of his brothers had the patience needed for Maedhros to so slowly open up and allow for care, though they all tried. Care the redhead still thought himself undeserving of. It made Maglor sick. As he collected his brother closer to himself so he could feel their combined heartbeats, tears stung in his eyes. He was so glad to have him back and for the most part he liked to be his caretaker during the dark nights, yet there was never any forgetting about what had been done to their Nelyo and he, of all, saw it so closely he was surprised his brother had not broken completely. As Maedhros' body mended, so did a part of his mind, torturously slow. For this last part that remained untainted and wanting to live, that grew a little more each month, shifting and realigning pieces of him that it came across along its way, Maglor vowed to always stay by his side. It did not stop the bitter tears at the utter atrocity of it all, of knowing that he himself had been the one to refuse to bargain with Morgoth to get him back before all of this had happened. He had condemned him to this.
A shaky inhale signaled something more to come and the minstrel quickly lifted a hand to his lips to muffle the anguished cry that would have woken Maedhros. He ought not. Maedhros had been so strong for so long, Maglor should not turn to him for comfort and yet, he would always be the little brother that wanted and needed that. How pathetic. He had no time to feel sorry for himself, it was a blessing that they had gotten back one they had thought lost, an honor to be allowed to work on getting him better. A chance for repentance.
Still, his tears continued to fall, hiccups stifled by his hand, comforted by the way Maedhros unconsciously curled into him.

thinking again about how one of homestucks biggest themes is being dis-united from/at odds with yourself. like obviously dirk and his splinter thing are one of the biggest examples, but also. karkat's arguments with past present and future him are funny and sometimes a little bit annoying but holy fuck they are relatable. and jade with jadesprite. and vriska with (vriska). and whatever the fuck was the deal with the cherubs anyway. and i dont even really know where i was going with this but it sure is interesting

so now the doodle's a ficlet disguised as sandray from nick's pov.
like the coming dawn by khaotunq (stilinski)
All of this went through Nick's head in the eternal-feeling five seconds it took for Ray to successfully drag Sand back down onto his back and cheerfully wish him goodnight. Nick couldn't see Ray's face—didn't want to try, lest Sand continue to give him those huge, betrayed doe eyes—but he imagined there was a tiny, satisfied curl to his mouth because even if Sand refused to see it, Nick understood what Ray turning up at two in the morning in the middle of nowhere meant.

chapter four of wriggle up on dry land (the ted lasso au where everything is the same except for jamie, nelson road’s fifteen year old groundsman’s assistant) is up now!!
“Night, Lasso,” is all that Jamie says in the end, and then he’s walking away from the table, across the pub, and disappearing out the front door.
Ted stands up and looks out the window, craning his neck to watch Jamie walk down the road. He’s headed the same direction that Ted sees him coming from sometimes, the direction he probably lives in somewhere down the street.
“Goodnight, Jamie,” he murmurs, even though the kid is long gone and there’s no one listening anymore. Then he turns and sits back down. Now, to figure out who at AFC Richmond is a math tutor waiting to happen.
read Chapter Four: AFC Richmond Mathletes now on ao3!

I think Childe would have so much fun fighting Inna.
Please note I can’t give a full analysis of their fight because 1) it’s a literal plot point and 2) spoilers
Given that Hydro+Dendro = Bloom = dendro cores that Inna can explode at will (they won’t heal him like they do Kaveh but Inna doesn’t care about that because he’s uh. Largely immune to dendro damage - perks of almost being ascended to a dendro god) they would likely both end up in a worse off state than they arrived at the fight with especially if Childe went all out.
But considering by the time Inna meets Childe Lumine (and others) have taught him how to spar without trying to kill his enemy (most of the time. Inna can get carried away) Inna would also have fun and probably not try to kill Childe.
Probably.
Most likely.
Unless Childe triggers a Bad Memory.

Starting an Assistive Tech design proposal with “I have so many ideas and they’re all swimming around my head like sharks with rabies. Sadly they all have rabies because none of them have a major catch/something that makes them improbable for me, myself, or others.” I’m so over grad school.

Dewa Anon here, the angst was on point, as much as I like scepter 4 the thing is that I pretty much imprinted on Homra like at their first scene and now I'm pretty much incapable of doing these scenarios for any other clan, the closest thing I can get is the aus where Dewa's or Mikoto's parents were part of a clan.
On the resentful sibling, usually they end up at homra all like: you're going home now, don't you see what you're doing to our poor parents?
Continuing the angsty tale of poor Dewa and his tragic past that we just made up XD Imagine a scenario like this where most of Homra doesn't even know that Dewa has siblings (they just assumed he sprung forth fully formed from a hat or something) and so no one actually knows the reason why Dewa acts the way he does with his resentful sibling. Like Chitose probably does know, I feel like he would certainly be aware of Dewa's home life, but when Dewa's youngest sibling comes to the bar and asks why Dewa won't come home and can't you see how much you're hurting our parents, the rest of the Homra guys are like wondering if maybe Dewa isn't the fairly responsible guy they took him as. Especially if he's like rude or cold to his sibling, I could see Yata in particular stepping in to say something about Dewa not even wanting to listen to what his sibling has to say and then Chitose steps in to tell Yata to back off and Dewa tells them both to just leave it.
Though then when everyone finds out the real reason later, that Dewa's parents were always off being irresponsible and Dewa had to do everything for his siblings and he resents his parents trying to walk back into his life like nothing happened, then I think everyone would be more understanding. The Homra guys would probably want to like stage an intervention and help Dewa and his parents come to an understanding but Dewa's like no you don't need to do that in fact do not do that ever. Though I could see Chitose going off on his own to confront Dewa's sibling, feeling like someone needs to stick up for Dewa's side of things here and maybe telling Dewa's sibling to think a bit more about why Dewa's so hesitant to just go home and pretend he had a normal childhood. Dewa's irritated with Chitose when he finds this out, like you didn't need to intervene, but maybe that intervention also helps Dewa and his siblings reconcile a little, his youngest sibling accepting that it wasn't Dewa who really broke this and that Dewa spent so long trying to hold their family together all on his own.
