#this is in no way bashing on microlabels or created labels

what i despise about the whole bi/pan/m-spec bs is that...if we applied the same concept to lesbians and gay men suddenly even one is able to know "uh, this label is pointless. cut that shit out". yet bisexuals have and are forced to coexist within a community where these microlabels are meant to "seperate" us from them in a meaningful way. its not even like were worth fighting for at this point. this isnt to bash lesbians/gay men though they deserve to never experience this bullshit
Honestly I think the reason that they managed to escape all of that is because it ended up in our yard again. There’s people who argue that gays and lesbians willing to date nonbinary people are actually bi, so they didn’t create any bs terms so much as coopt bisexuality again.

i think something important to note with how we present ourselves in terms of identity in public both on the internet and in conversation is that labels are just that - labels.
whether i call myself gay, or lesbian, or queer, it will never be able to explain the depth of my relationship of how i identify myself nor how my identity shapes the way i interact with the societal structures around me. because we all perceive labels differently. the only thing we use them for is a vague grouping of certain characteristics wherein that a good amount of people will agree on a few of them.
there’s a bit of a problem, i feel sometimes where younger people (not bashing on them, i’m one of them) feel the need to put a hyperspecific name to how they express or experience their identity in the form of creating a microlabel of sorts. i think it’s important when it comes to this stuff that we take a step back and just understand that it’s not so important that others are privy to how we love others or how we live our lives. labels are important for communication, but they only inform your identity to others, and should not encompass how you view yourself.
