ctubbo isn’t a character who can live in a cold, empty ending. he’s a character that needs to be dragged back into life and learn to live in that life like he did before season 4 destroyed him. i don’t want anymore half-life c!tubbo. I want the ctubbo that invented nukes to protect his family. THAT’S the tubbo i wanna see come to a close

Fuck it, long post time.
Dsmp is so AAGGHH. I love it so much, its introduced me to some of the people I care about most and it has made me feel ways no other fandom has made me feel. I love the plotholes. I love the lack of consistency. I love how everyone has a different view on how the story played out. I love how if you asked someone what happened during a certain era their answer will be different from the next. I love the art. I love the animatics. I love the characters. I love the fanfiction. I love the story. I love the aus. I love how homemade it feels. I love how it feels like people wanted to make a cool thing so they made a cool thing. I love how the fandom took small bits of the ccs personality, added it to their character and ran with it. I love how each character had totally different motivations from any other character. I love how some things didnt make sense. I love how somethings never got answered. I love the ending. I love how somethings didnt end. I love unserious it was at times. I love how serious it was at times. I love the fans. I love the theories. I love the edits. I love the gacha reaction videos (ifykyk). I love Henry. I love c!tommy. I love exile arc. I love c!niki. I love the petwar. I love the lines, improvised or not. I love "If you wanna be a hero tommy? then die like one." I love c!SBI. I love c!Bee duo. I love c!disc duo. I love exile arc. I love pogtopia. I love l'manburg. I love c!ranboo. I love c!tubbo. I love the Big Innit/Manifold Hotel. I love shroud. I love how it was able to bring a large group of people together. I love how its let me make so many friends. I love the fandom. I love how its changed me. I love dsmp. Dsmp means so much to me because its become MY fandom. Its become what I return to when Im sad or happy. Its the only fandom I really read fics for. Its the only show/thing Ive cared about to this extent. Its the only show where Ive actually cared about a character. Its how I found my love of watching twitch streamers. It got me back into playing minecraft. It got me into writing. It makes me want to improve on my art. DSMP is my comfort fandom, my main fandom, everything and anything all at once. I love watching compilations of the characters. I love all the cosplays. I love how ive gotten into so many hobbies because of it. I owe my personality to C!tommy and cc!tommy and dsmp as a whole. I owe my internet presence to dsmp. It has such a special place in my heart. I love c!tommy. I love how he cares for animals. I love how hes mean and aggrressive and rude. I love how hes hurt adn traumatised and healing. I love the relationships between the characters. I love how c!tommy cares and he doesnt. I love how the discs mean so much to him. I love how his decisions are drived by emotions. I love him having so many attachments. I love how other people will think my view of him is wrong/different to theirs. I love how dsmp allowed me to experiment with who I am (personality wise). I love how dsmp entered me to a part of the internet I would never have seen before. I love how I feel nostalgic looking at the fanart or fansongs. I love. It all. I know this was really rambl-y but ive just been thinking about it and I have so many feelings. My concluding statement is: DSMP has shpaed me into who I am and no one can take it away from me. It will always have a special place in my heart.

Me rambling about the fandom atmosphere during November 16th:
With November 16th hitting the corner, I thought now would be a good time to finally post this post that's been in my drafts forever
I genuinely am of the personal belief that November 16th is one of those things where you had to have been there to fully appreciate and experience it at least in my opinion. I feel like the tense atmosphere leading up to the actual event is something that is not widely talked about in the fandom. A brief reminder for the fans that are new here or that missed the stream where the November 16th War was announced: during stream C! Dream revealed that there was a traitor hiding amongst Pogtopia and said it was someone that you wouldn't expect. This one line lead to multiple fan theories going around the fandom ranging from plausible to very far fetched. The fandom turned into one big game of Among Us and EVERYONE was a suspect.
Here's an old post of my mine that I think does a good job showing the mentality of most fans going into November 16th:
Tumblr media
There were so many theories and speculations leading up to it and you genuinely had to be there to see everyone's different theories about who the traitor would be and the couple aus I saw come out of it. It made it so that when the event did happen, no one in the fandom knew who trust and NEITHER DID THE CHARACTERS. It was amazing watching characters debate whether or not to trust eachother live. It made it feel like any discoveries or possible leads that were made were realised by the character and the fandom at the same time, especially love that one scene where C! Tubbo and C! Quackity decide they sort of trust eachother and talk about who they don't trust. I distinctly remembering switching between povs and watching the dashboard lose their shit and how current character mains would be like "OH [CHARACTER] IS ACTING SO SUSPICIOUS :0" or just liveblog whatever characters were doing and it was a really fun way of keeping up with most of the characters even if I couldn't physically watch all their povs at once
This is less about the atmosphere but more something I feel like people don't talk about enough: Phil wasn't on the Dream SMP before November 16th and we had no concrete indication he would be there. There were a lot of fan theories and headcanons about him joining and I remember seeing all the art of him joining on November 16th and at the time thinking "Oh that's really cool but I doubt they'll actually do it" SO I CAN'T DESCRIBE THE SHEER EMOTIONS I FELT WHEN HE JOINED?
I honestly still don't think I'll ever forget watching C! Wilbur press the button and watching everything go to shit at once after such a tense buildup. Whenever I tell my irl friends I once stayed up till 5am on a school night to watch a live minecraft roleplay event, most of them joke or express (VERY UNDERSTANDABLE) concern but I honestly don't regret a thing. I'd do it 30 times over just to experience that again and watch my dashboard go apeshit. November 16th will always be one of my favourite events in any media ever.

c!dream meets up with c!wilbur to tell him about a change to their plans | 2.3k words
---
<Dream> be there in 5
The communicator in Wilbur’s hand casts a pale glow onto the palm of his hand, the only light he has to guide him as he paces the length of the hollowed-out room; it’s dark, zombies groaning somewhere outside, the dead singing their songs, shuffling through underbrush in the belly of the forest that surrounds Pogtopia. The air is musty in their little dugout, a claustrophobic awning of stone carved into the side of a hill, well-shadowed even during the day, the darkness swallowing the wan light of the comm in his hands now. He can barely see the floor underneath him as he walks, shuffling steps forward and back, ten paces each. He presses his hand against the wall, turning to the entrance and standing still.
Phil always had a whole thing about light, Wilbur having grown up on lectures about light levels and spawn-proofing and the dangers of leaving cavities unlit while mining, had grilled him on different ways of keeping a room from becoming a death trap. Carpets, half-slabs, glass. How many times had he been warned of the danger presented by surprise creepers and dark corners?
Phil had never been much of a fan of explosions.
The main server is mostly well-lit, but the secrecy demanded by revolution effort means that the forest surrounding Pogtopia gets much darker. Not that he’s in the main ravine at the minute–with the amount of people coming and going as of late, Dream had wanted their meeting to be in a slightly more discreet location, and Wilbur had agreed. It was easy enough to slip away with Technoblade once again off to do his own thing and Tommy having run off to find Tubbo, and Wilbur had managed to arrive to the room sufficiently early before sunset to prevent himself from getting ambushed by mobs.
He slips his hand into his coat pocket. Chekov’s gun is smooth and cold against the palm of his hand, polished wood and metal. He smooths the pads of his fingers down the barrel, over the trigger. He leaves it, pulling out a half-empty pack of cigarettes instead. His lighter provides a clearer view of the room, still empty. Dream is late.
Dream is usually late, then again–it’s expected, really, with the way he runs around the server, always busy, always chasing down those plans of his, smart man that he is. Dream likes his secrets, his mystery, mask and armor all made to keep his cards close to his chest–Wilbur can hardly fault him for it, god no. Dream has what he wants, just as they all do, all of them tripping over themselves in their ambition, crabs in a bucket, the pledges to help the revolution coming from each one that jumps off of Schlatt’s sinking ship. He breathes in deep, smoke coating his lungs with tar.
“Wilbur?”
Light throws itself into the room from the entrance, rippling wildly as the fire on the end of Dream’s torch burns, casting wild shadows over his mask as he squeezes himself inside. Despite his armor, he has an uncanny knack for moving silently, cloak and hood pulled low over his head so that only the edge of the painted smile is visible. The torch is raised higher, moved left and right as Dream surveys the contents of the room around them. Wilbur smiles and tips his head towards him in greeting.
“Dream, my man. How good to see you again.”
“Wilbur…” Dream’s voice trails off. His head turns from one side to the other, making another anxious sweep of the room before refocusing on Wilbur, his hand moving to pull his hood down and then run his hand through his hair, having been pressed flat by the heavy fabric. The blank face of his mask stares back at Wilbur, tilting to the side like a confused dog as he shakes out his shoulders. “We…need to talk.”
“Well? I’m all ears.” He gestures at himself, leaning against the wall of the room. Dream turns to look over his shoulder again. His armor glimmers, the light of the runes on their surface made more obvious in the dark. He bounces on the balls of his feet, reaches up once again to tug his fingers through his hair.
“It’s important.” No shit, Wilbur almost says, because for all that Dream might think that his mask hides everything he’s thinking, he’s never quite been as guarded with his body language as he might hope; the anxiety rolling off of every jerky movement is enough to set Wilbur’s teeth on edge as it is, never mind the long silences and hesitation, but he’s not stupid enough to think that that would get him anything resembling an answer. Instead, he raises an eyebrow, smiles wider, and spits out another curling thread of smoke.
“You’re an important man. I should hope so.”
Dream pauses at that. His head does that tilt-thing again. “...alright.”
“So? What is it? Do tell.” Has Dream decided to go against him? Perhaps. His enthusiasm with regards to their plan is more unpredictable than Wilbur had expected, sometimes perfectly willing, sometimes hesitant to agree to much of anything. But he had agreed, nonetheless, had provided the TNT that Wilbur has set sprawling underneath Manberg’s main stage; cold feet, now, would be rather unprecedented. Still, it’s Dream–very little can be discounted when Dream is in the picture, Wilbur knows. He places his hands in his pockets, thumbs hooked over the edge, pistol brushing against his fingertips. “I hate to push, but the suspense is killing me.”
Dream takes another second, then reaches behind his head. Wilbur straightens where he’s standing, suddenly curious, as he removes his mask.
He’s seen Dream without it only a few times–all able to be counted on one hand, this one included. The light of the torch illuminates his face from the chin up, cast shadows highlighting the contours of his skull, the contours of his cheeks, light catching under his brows. His features are delicate in a way that still surprises him, a smattering of freckles over the nose of his bridge made visible as he raises the torch higher. Dream’s eyes are a little wide, a little bloodshot. He bites his bottom lip, blinking twice in quick succession, eyes darting over the walls and then back to Wilbur’s face.
“Schlatt called me. For a meeting earlier.”
“Schlatt?”
“He knows about the TNT.”
Wilbur blinks. “Well, fuck.”
“Look–Wilbur, look.” Dream makes a little move with his hands, shaking them out by the wrists. “It’s not–it’s not the end of. This, okay? But, he knows. I didn’t tell him. I don’t know how he found out, I don’t know if someone told him, I haven’t told anyone, but–he knows. We can still work with this.”
“Schlatt knows?” He searches Dream’s face. He seems earnest, but god knows, but what would he have to gain from lying about this, anyway? Who else could’ve told him–Tommy? Tommy might not tell Schlatt directly, but Tommy has never been good with secrets, letting anyone and everyone in on everything with an apparent inability to control his own tongue–
“--but it’s, fine. The TNT is still there, the room is still intact. I checked some of the wiring and it doesn’t look like it’s been tampered with. Wilbur, are you listening to me?”
Wilbur waves him off. “I’m listening. Just keep going.”
“I don’t think we need to change anything with the TNT. Like, Schlatt’s just one guy. And his gear is shit. If he messes with the TNT, then we’ll–we’ll figure something out, but you know, I don’t even think he even, like, knows where it all is.”
“Well, it’s kind of everywhere, so–”
“–which is my point. It’s too deep, he’s still sitting on top of a bomb. There’s nothing–there’s nothing he can do.” Dream crosses his arms in front of his chest, still worrying his lip between his teeth. “I just thought you should know.”
Schlatt knows. Schlatt knows–Wilbur paces against the wall of their room, ten paces forward and ten paces back. He crushes his cigarette underneath his boot, nails digging into his palm.
“Well, Dream? Is that all?”
Dream’s expression twists. His brows pinch together, lips pressed against each other and curling into a slight grimace, his expression giving too much away after spending so much time masked.
“There’s…one more thing.”
Wilbur scoffs. “Just spit it out, you prick.”
Dream doesn’t even react to the insult, shoulders hunching up as he begins speaking. “Look…it’s just. My plans have…changed.”
What? “I thought you just said that they didn’t?”
“Our plans are the same. It’s just–Schlatt made me, an offer.” Dream shifts from foot to foot. He swallows, throat working, his eyes still bright and wide, pupils dilated with a thin circle of green around. Wilbur stares at him. He almost looks… “He’s got something. Important. He asked me to…join him, kind of, and he’d–give it to me.”
“What?”
“It’s not–look, Wilbur. Wilbur.” Dream raises his hands, palms out, a placating motion. “It’s not what you think, but I–I had to.”
“You had to join Manberg.”
“I’m not joining Manberg!” Dream runs his hand through his hair, eyes flashing. Wilbur is suddenly very aware of the axe on his back, the heavy plates of netherite armor. Eret, the button, it was never meant to be. “Why would I join Manberg, what–”
“So what’s this? What’s this then, Dream?”
“Wilbur–”
“Because from where I’m standing, I have to say, it looks a lot like you’re betraying me.”
“I am not–”
“That’s just like you. That’s just like you, isn’t it? Good ol’ Dream, mister 1000 IQ, outsmarting everyone–well-played, man, well-played! I really must congratulate you!”
“Wilbur, can you just–”
“So what is this meeting then, Dream? Gotten cold feet, now that you’ve been discovered? You’re his little lackey now, is that it, his little lap dog–you’re gonna start another war? Put down another revolution, lead us all out to slaughter like last time, good for you, you motherfucker, is that the point of this farce? You’re here to kill me?”
“Wilbur, can you just listen to me!”
Dream’s voice is raised. Wilbur draws himself up to full height, Dream’s head craning up slightly as he crosses the room in front of him in two long strides.
“What.”
“I’m not. Joining Manberg.” Dream’s arms are crossed tightly in front of him, scowling slightly. It’s an expression not all that much unlike Tommy’s teenage petulance, a set jaw, eyes narrowed under furrowed brows. “There’s just–a peace treaty, right? I can’t just violate that. And now Schlatt knows. He’s asking for me to give him–gear.”
“Gear, like what.”
“Armor. Weapons, shields. Support in the incoming fight. You know, he’d already been paying Punz, the rest of the people in my country are already going to fight with him. And, whatever.”
Wilbur rocks back on his heels. His skin itches, feeling antsy, so he goes back to pacing. “And?”
“I meant what I said, earlier. This doesn’t change anything. The TNT is still there, we can still blow it up. It…doesn’t matter who wins the, the battle and stuff.”
Wilbur sets his shoulders, turning back to look Dream in the eye. “Really. It doesn’t matter.”
“It doesn’t! It doesn’t matter. We have an agreement, that’s still like–a thing.” Dream’s hands close into fists, then open again. “I don’t like this, okay? I don’t like Schlatt–” Wilbur scoffs, “--and I don’t exactly want to work with him. But I have to. I swear, I really have to.”
“Because, what. The treaty?”
Dream shakes his head, expression still all twisted up like he’s eaten something sour. “He’s got. A book.”
Wilbur laughs outright at that. “A book.”
“It’s–Wilbur, I swear. It’s important. I’ll, I might–I’ll–” Dream makes a frustrated sound, teeth clenched. “I have to get it.”
“So you’re going to work for Schlatt.” Fuck it. Wilbur pulls out another cigarette, lighting it as he speaks. “You’re going to be the emperor’s little guard dog.”
“I’m–”
“No, no, it makes sense. It’d be too boring for you otherwise, wouldn’t it? Not enough chaos, with everyone joining the rebellion.” He gestures with the cigarette, Dream’s eyes caught on it as it moves. “You want us all to fucking destroy ourselves, keep everyone weak, Manberg, Pogtopia–you don’t need to explain yourself, man, you’re a smart guy! Even out the playing field, join whatever team has the fewest players, keep yourself above it all. Bravo, really. Bravo.”
Dream’s jaw works, but he stays silent. Wilbur smiles at him and breathes in a long drag of smoke.
“Well, Dream. I very much appreciate our meeting together today, really. Really! This has been…enlightening. Is that all? Or do you have any other important information to tell me.”
“...I’ll come around in a few days to tell the others. About, switching sides and whatever. And–the TNT is still going off, alright? No matter what.”
Wilbur rolls his eyes. “Obviously.”
Dream stares him down, Wilbur meeting his eyes evenly. He breaks eye contact first, looking down at the floor and tossing several stacks of TNT onto the ground between them. -
“Thank you, Dream. Until next time then.”
Dream stares at him, blinks, his eyes wide and green, before he turns away. The torch disappears into his inventory as he walks to the exit of the room, silhouetted in the doorway as he presses the mask back over his face. Wilbur reaches into his pocket, draws out Chekhov’s gun, holds his arm straight in front of him, fingers wrapped around the pistol as Dream works at the straps behind his head. He keeps it held there, pointed at Dream’s back until the man slips into the night, the blurry reflection of the lit end of his cigarette vaguely visible in the dull metal.
He’s not sure how long it is before a twinge to his arm makes him slip the unloaded gun back into his pocket. He sighs. He needs to start making his way back; after all, he still needs to think of a birthday present.

can wwe have some shy!streamer and dsmp streamer duo names pls?? :3
yes yes ofc :)!!
p! cc! multiple x shy! y/n
included: Tommy, tubbo, jack manifold, dream
nothing about the reader is specified except they're shy and a streamer, though it was written with minor!reader in mind lol
Tommy
u see fans were gonna go w pressure duo since the first time y'all interacted he carried every convo y'all ever had and you were just like "ah... um, yeah heh;;" so it was like, the pressure to try and make convo cause u felt guilty that he started and carried them all 😭✋
but then someone was like "y'all is that a bit too close to peer pressure duo??", it was split but eventually jitterduo got more popular so everyone switched to that :)
named jitterduo because you both got the jitters!! Tommy is just extroverted so it seems like he has the jitters and you're just super nervous/shy so you do have the jitters
pls ur duo name is cute </3 /pos
Tubbo
pickles duo
allow me to explain:
Tumblr media
every pickles duo artist has drawn that pic at least once btw, anyway
at first it was a joke then they were like yes yes so true and bam is was ur genuine duo name
the joke surfaced from one of your first interactions and how that energy lasted through the friendship
you left the voice channel with multiple of the dsmp members to chill in a different vc for a little because all that social stimulation at once was getting overwhelming for you
but you promised chat you'd rejoin after you recharged your social battery (most of them didn't push and were reminding you to take care of yourself first)
after a little bit tubbo realized you were gone, and he knew you were shy, it was basically common knowledge to anyone who has seen any of your content, and ngl he felt a little guilty so he left vc and joined yours!
he asked if you were alright and if you needed him to "tell them to shut their faces", you, of course, declined with a little laugh
alas it was rhetorical and he left your vc anyways 😕 you talked to chat before tubbo rejoined and told you it should be ok to rejoin the main vc without getting a headache now
your defender against Tommy /lh
is it purely bc it is just another reason to bicker? uh, maybe but we don't talk abt it 💀
jack manifold
buffer duo / buffering duo
look at me at tell me I'm wrong
there's a popular hc that c!jack is a cyborg type thing and he's just overall associated with robots
what do electronics (including most robots) do that causes them to pause for a while / stutter?
buffer
as in load
bc ur shy so u stumble over your words a lot and just stay quiet usually at first
aka u buffer
BAM duo name 😌💕
Dream
what if I told u it was end duo 😭
ok let me explain,, dream has defeated the ender dragon many times
he usually wins his manhunts
you're shy, and not very good at socializing
so what do you want to happen to pretty much every social interaction?
you want it to end
another duo name that was 100% satire, literally just a shitpost for laughs and then the fans ran w it 💀

One of the weirder things to come out of the dsmp I think is like. An over-reliance on fanon? Not that that’s a bad thing, because that’s about all dsmp fans had after summer 2021, but it’s weird.
Because you’ll have these tumblr polls going around and it’ll be like “Benchtrio versus Cumduo” and the propaganda for Benchtrio is that people really like the fics written about them. Same goes for any poll involving c!Tommy or the rest of SBI.
Even when it’s supposed to be a poll explicitly about canon, you’ll see the propaganda be like “I love reading fics about them they live in my head rent free” despite the characters never really interacting beyond fanfiction or headcanons, and they’ll win the round because they’re popular and they have a lot of fics written about them
Is this a bad thing? Not necessarily. Sometimes fanon is all you have, and that’s fine, it’s how things have worked for all of human history
What really confuses me though is the erasure of canon dynamics in favor of feel-good fanon. Take Benchtrio as an example: c!Tubbo and c!Ranboo were married, and c!Tommy felt left out and lowkey resented them for it. But in fics you see them all living and sleeping together as best friends and roommates/traumatized orphans. Or c!SBI: c!Phil and c!Techno literally nuked L’Manberg, which was c!Tommy and c!Wilbur’s pride and joy, and Phil killed Wilbur, and Phil would barely even look at Tommy in-lore, and Wilbur and Techno barely interacted outside of Pogtopia and even then it was. Not healthy. But then you look at their fics and they’re a nuclear family who have no problems with each other
It’s just a little weird to me when people take these fanon ideas and get pissy when people don’t take them as canon. I mean, if you go around saying c!SBI wasn’t a happy little nuclear family you’re liable to get death threats and insults and everything.
Are these fans the only ones like this? Absolutely not. There are people who send death threats over saying c!tntduo never canonically happened. There are c!Dream or c!Techno stans who get ANGRY if you say that they weren’t poor misunderstood angry babies because, in fanon, that’s what they are usually seen as. Fanon romantic c!Beeduoers versus fanon platonic c!Beeduoers is still an active war zone, and even trying to get close to c!DnF is a death wish
I’m a fanfiction writer, I know exactly how awesome fanon is, and I know just how important it is. It’s what’s left after the end of it all, and it’s beautiful in its complexity. But like. Sometimes people go weirdly overboard to the point of erasing actual canon and harassing people when they talk about actual canon dynamics or relationships.

i do think oh so frequently about the dsmp fandom's response to c!Tommy's trauma, but it just works so well as an exaggerated example of what happens in other fandoms. like. the idea was that he was villianised by fans for turning angry and mean after being abused, which was seen as an inherent flaw rather than a trauma response, right? because it didn't fit into the way fictional abuse victims are treated like objects of pity in fandoms.
and a lot of ppl thought this was happening bc people who turn bitter and angry and lash out due to trauma are never represented in media, but... they are. lol. i can name like 3 off the top of my head, one of them being from a show made in the 70s-80s. it's just that they either got the same treatment on a smaller scale (because the DSMP fan culture was essentially a 10-year fandom compressed into a year or 2), or they just. ignore it. they pretend that they were the "perfect victim" all along, mischaracterise them in the popular fanon, turn their anger issues into a palettable sort of anxiety disorder, morph their PTSD symptoms into something sympathetic rather than what they find to be too mean or scary.
they'll insist that they're misunderstood, but what they mean is that their actions "weren't that bad" or "were perfectly justified". there's no middle ground lmao bc they can't accept that the sympathetic traumatised character could have done bad things due to said trauma without their victim deserving it. c!Tubbo didn't deserve to be told that he was worth less than the discs, but c!Tommy is not an irredeemable monster, nor was he justified in saying that. Zuko was a 16-year-old boy living in the shame caused by his abuse, and he was absolutely horrible to his crew, burned down suki's village, and constantly turned on people who were only kind to him. like this feels like such a stupid thing to type, that people can do awful things that you don't need to justify but you also don't have to hate them forever. like.
ik this felt like a DSMP-centric issue bc it was a lot of ppl's babys-first-fandom (both the ppl defending and condemning ctommy, though more of the latter), but isn't it obvious how people were filled with sympathy for Hawkeye and disdain for BJ? how this has always been a problem?

The Updated Quackity design! Original is the image below.
Quackity is, by far, one of the most fun characters to draw (except at a full-body, front-facing angle, as I found drawing this). He's always been one of the most expressive and high-movement characters. Even back in the beginning, he was just so much fun to draw. He was always bouncing one way or another with big arms and expressions. That said, once shit hits the fan, you guys better get ready for a shift.
Spoilers (kind of) aside, Quackity in the role of Tubbo was one of those things that made me kick my feet and giggle (maniacally). It's so good. I'll get more into this once it actually comes up in the comic, but in the Canon dsmp, I wholeheartedly believe that if Quackity was let into L'Manberg in the first place, he would have easily become a Tubbo figure. Perhaps a more competent leader than Tubbo, too. The only reason C!Quackity became power-hungry is because Wilbur refused to give him any. And, one could argue, he was envious of how much power Wilbur had despite his blatant failings as a leader. So, in Roleshuffle, I essentially play out a version of Quackity where he wasn't forced into this serious, anti-hero, power-hungry character. Instead, he stays relatively lighthearted for much longer (not forever, of course).
I think Quackity was what made me realize how much I enjoyed a more cartoon-y style as opposed to an anime style. I don't think I ever really had an anime style for an extended period of time, and certainly not when I started drawing the original character sheets, but you can still definitely see the anime influences. And as much as love that, I think the more cartoon style has really helped me develop my skills. As contradictory as this sounds, I'd argue it helped me with my more realistic drawings, as I'd be able to sketch out a silly expression/pose in a cartoon style for practice, and then translate it into a (mildly) more realistic style.
Oh, also, he's based off of a Cayuga duck.

So there was this post floating around talking about how egg arc fans were unfairly blaming inniters and just generally being bitter over the lore, I think I might have even reblogged because well I do agree with the sentiment somewhat, I don't think it's suprising or wrong to be at least a little annoyed given the absolute chokehold The Disc plot side of the fandom had and still has. Like of course people are going to be annoyed when you make every part of the lore about c!Tommy. I have been annoyed when people tag the eggpire in unrelated fancontent. Like, it's dsmp lore, I'm not trying to act like egg arc fans are some uniquely silenced portion of the fandom, but yeah. People did and do butcher other characters (often with female characters, in misogynistic ways) to fit the narrative of their fics. It is hard to find a fic without it being mostly about c!Tommy/Tubbo/Ranboo/ what have you, without filtering through a bunch of tags. It is frustrating to see fans who never watched the egg lore call it 'half-lore' or a side plot. It is annoying to see a storyline that has very little to do with c!Tommy, be made about c!Tommy. In animatics, in fanart, and in that one guy's dsmp netflix recap. And you know, this isn't exclusive to inniters. c!Dream fans too, are guilty of the same kind of 'need a filler character so let me just use c!antfrost or something' tropes, just in different ways. This would be a lot more eloquent if I remembered what that post said, and I hope this doesn't come off as too harsh, but yeah. Making c!Tommy the main character in arcs he comparatively had little to do with, arcs which are already seen as background lore and not important due to a self maintained cycle, and seeing your favorite characters butchered is annoying. Just because it makes you uncomfortable doesn't mean it's not true.

Hello! I’m a big fan of your rivalsduo fics and analysis and I wanted to ask your thoughts on something I noticed!
So, when the community house is blown up, Tommy switches to sides to Tubbo and confirms he’s betraying Techno and this exchange happens:
Techno: “Wooow. Welp. 1 v 30 it is! Who wants to go up first?!”
Dream: “No. No no no no no no. Listen, listen..”
Techno: “..Okay.”
I always love picking apart rivalsduo moments but do you think Techno calming down for the moment when Dream asks him to wait shows a sort of established trust they have in each other? A trust sort of based on the fact that they don’t want to be in direct conflict with each other and, therefore, have faith that the other won’t take any action against them without a warning?
The moment just stuck with me on a rewatch and i might be over analyzing but I thought ur thoughts would be neat :]
[link to clip]
i actually think this moment is super telling!
because it comes after another very important c!techno moment: he's just been betrayed by tommy. you can hear in techno's voice how this bothers him. the way he says 'wow' and then pivots directly into preparing for a fight.
because techno has been here before! he's been betrayed in a very similar way and it ended with a battle. technically two times if you consider the red festival (which I do).
so techno does what he does best. he takes the very real hurt he feels and tries to deflect away from it by giving people what they think of him as; violent and a weapon.
and to be clear, this isn't an impossible situation for techno! it would be hard, sure, but he has pearls, he could get away in the same method he had just suggested to tommy. he has potions, he has his gear. if he wanted a fight, he could have one and get away.
but dream speaks and techno immediately switches his demeanor. he doesn't even know what dream is going to suggest, but he drops the 'blade weapon' persona instantly and goes 'okay'.
it'd be easy to say that's because techno knows from everything that happened, dream is ostensibly on his side but all things considered, sides mean nothing.
so, what do we have?
we have two people who have never gone against each other. as dream would state later, he's never betrayed techno. he's gone out of his way to help techno and has saved techno's life. and techno knows dream doesn't want to go against him. their brief confrontation at the portal told him this! he had the chance to fight techno right then and there, to go back with backup later, or to use the favor to get techno to hand over tommy. but dream does none of these things. he just kinda shrugs and goes 'eh whatever'.
that makes it very easy for techno to stand down. dream doesn't even have to tell him why or anything. he just tells techno to wait and techno does. because what dream's reason for this is or what he might be planning isn't the relevant part. it doesn't matter what dream follows his 'wait' up with. (in this case the immediate follow up is just insulting tubbo a whole bunch before he even gets to the point)
because the follow up isn't what techno is basing his decision on. he's basing it on the fact he trusts dream. and sure, it's not in a wholesome, 'we're best friends' way. it's in the way that someone who has been betrayed a whole bunch trusts someone who hasn't betrayed them and has done everything to help them. if dream wanted techno dead, he could've. multiple times. which right now is the most important thing to techno: dream has not only never betrayed him but has consistently worked to put himself on techno's side. which means, yeah! he's going to listen to dream! he's gonna step down, he's gonna switch gears because he has no reason not to.
and this leads to another moment in this whole thing i think is an important piece: dream again defers cashing in the favor and stating that techno was already going to destroy l'manberg. it puts them on the same level. this is a choice that techno is making (and this aspect is important enough i've talked about it before) and he is dream's equal in this whole thing.
it makes it easy to see why techno considers dream as someone he can trust, listen to, and eventually risk his life for.

C!Tommy is my favourite character, however, that doesn’t mean he gets a pass.
In simple word, C!Tommy is a narcissist, or atleast show alot of narcissistic traits. Self importance ? Check. Entitled to some degree ? Check. Arrogant ? Check. Jealous easily ? Check. Rarely believe something is his fault ? Check.
( Obviously, just because someone has some of these traits, that doesn’t mean that they’re a narcissist or a bad person, it depends on the context )
Now, I guess you can say that since Tommy is canonically 16, being a narcissist is expected, because most 16 years old is a self - centred asshole. But like I said many times, just because it’s justified, that doesn’t mean it’s okay.
Tommy has show signs of a narcissist ( Arrogant, entitled ) ever since he joined, and as the lore progresses, he starts to show more. It even gets worse when he got mad because he can’t fathom the fact Tubbo has a life out of him. He threatened to kill Michael for fuck’s sake ( I still love reading about them bonding tho ) !
And the whole “ Me and Tubbo vs Dream “ always gets on my nerves. Yes, Tommy has been hurt by Dream but he’s not the only one. What about Sapnap and Geogre who have to watch their close friend spiral ? What about Puffy who lost her fucking son and felt responsible for how he turn out ? What about Ranboo ? What about Niki and Jack and Fundy who lost their home when he blew up L’ manberg ? What about Vikkstar & Lazarbeam ? Dream has hurt almost everyone, not just Tommy, yet he believes he’s the only one.
Not to mentioned, he claims Tubbo is his bestfriend, yet hesitate when he’s asked to choose between him and the discs. Tommy has been an asshole to Tubbo and Tubbo has also been an asshole to Tommy times to times ( I will cover this more for when Tubbo’s post comes ). C!ClingyDuo is a shitshow (and when you include Ranboo and make it C!BenchTrio, it gets even worse ), they’re both bad for eachother. Sure, there are times where they act like actual, healthy friends, but half the times, their “ friendship “ is held together by shared trauma.
While Tubbo is treated like something comparable to the fucking discs, Ranboo is seen as an obstacle half the times. Yeah, Tommy covered for him when they burnt Geogre’s house, but that’s it. After that, whenever Tommy is with Ranboo, he’s just a tad bit more hostile and he always show jealousy when Ranboo and Tubbo are together. Like C!ClingyDuo, C!AlliumDuo is also toxic as hell and is barely being held together by the fact they have a mutual friend ( Tubbo ).
Don’t even get me start on Jack. I joined the fandom relatively late ( Post Prison Arc ), when the fandom’s opinions start shifting, and Tommy became a baby who can’t do anything wrong, so Jack’s death was pretty much brush over. It doesn’t help that I learn the lore solely through fan content, and as I said, opinions start shifting and Jack’s death got no acknowledgement. I didn’t even know why he was so mad at Tommy until a few weeks ago when I read a fanfic ( On Temporizing by LuckyMagicBelle ). No one in the fandom and the lore acknowledge it except Jack and maybe Niki, not even Tommy himself.
And that’s not even talking about all the casual crimes he commit, which I will not be getting into, because I’m pretty sure everyone have commit atleast 3 casually crimes at this point.
( Putting this just incase. Like in the one I made about Dream, just because Tommy is an asshole sometimes, that doesn’t mean the shit that happened to him is okay. And how he turns out is realistic imo, because I know that if I went through what he did, I’ll come out worse. But still, a flaw is flaw, and this is a call out post. He is child and someone should’ve show him how to be better, not let him continue to be like this )
Conclusion : C!Tommy is an actual war criminal that is in no way, shape or form innocent, yet most the fandom ignore that because they woobified him. He’s an asshole sometimes and it’s fine to be paranoid after the shit he went through but he needs to understand that Dream isn’t always out to get him. Also, C!BenchTrio needs to split up, have some therapy and spent some times for themselves before they’re ready to be friends again.
I still love him and will defend him with my dying breath though.
Edit : Y’all, I just saw a post that said C!tommy is a accurate portrayal of an abused victim, and now I can’t tell which of my points are actually him being an ass and which one is me being insensitive / overreacting and not realising that he’s intended to be written that way to be accurate. Please tell me because I do not want to offend anyone-

see, i always have had a feeling that dsmp fans think too highly on themselves and how cc's should treat them equal and that they have a say in how dsmp story is going. but i also have been worried that my view is too harsh and yes it is cool when your headcanon is noticed by cc's. but the behaviour of some fans since the start of the s1 finale, including terrible awful donos on tubbos stream today - and i'm not taking about dream only but also about donos forcing tubbo to talk about c!discduo finale and calling the ending cheap and that it sucked and what's the point of s2 - made me realise that maybe i was actually too soft for some of those people. cc's don't own you anything. you can always move on if you don't like their decisions. IT'S NOT YOUR STORY IT'S NOT YOUR STREAM IT'S NOT YOUR LIFE. literally go to hell, leave them alone. you should be ashamed of yourself if you support what happened on today's stream

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Extra headcanons to give the characters more depth.
SBI is canon: wilbur came out as pansexual to tommy and techno in the pogtopia arc, wilbur came out to phil via letters during the pogtopia arc. wilbur came out as bigender after he was revived (to everyone on the smp because he wanted people to use the correct pronouns for her.) tommy came out originally to phil, wilbur, and techno as bisexual before the dsmp but later figured out he was a biromantic demisexual when he first joined dsmp (and of course told phil, techno, wilbur, and tubbo). techno casually came out as aroace to phil, tommy, and wilbur, when they were all sat around at the diner table before they joined dsmp. Also of course everyone was accepting. Wilbur and tommy have wings, but tommy lost his during exile because dream cut them off so he couldn't run away (im sorry for the angst but oh well) and wilbur never lost his. (And the reason you cant see wilbur's wings in my fanart of him of a long time ago is because one: im lazy and its hard to draw wings, and two: he can retract his wings in his back)
Jack is a robot/cyborg: I personally like the idea of jack being a cyborg/robot, probably because im a fnaf fan, I also like to think that niki made him and thats why they were so close (before the smp he came out as trans to niki and she supported him of course) I also like the idea that he looked really human but because of his canon deaths his skin was damaged so you could see the robotic side of him, Also if you cant remember his first canon death was by wilbur, he was burned to death by him and I like to think the fire damaged the skin on his arm and thats how everyone found out he was a cyborg, his second canon death was by tommy on accident, tommy pushed jack in the lava in the nether and from that, thats why you can see his right side all robotic like because the lava burned his skin off. He also came out as bisexual to niki before the smp. (Also can people stop sleeping on jacks character because he is literally one of the coolest characters.) Also his third canon death was by techno, he and techno were having a dual during doomsday, and because of that he lost his right eye and had to tell niki to make another one, of which looked really robotic because she didn't have the resources to make a human looking eye. Jack also went to hell and had to complete different challenges to be revived which is canon btw. (And sense he didn't get revived by the revive book, I dont think he would have a white streak in his hair, and i know that jack doesn't have hair but you can still dye it, take irl billzo for example)
Tubbo's related to schlatt: I like to think that schlatt is c!tubbo's biological dad because both of them are ram/goats, and that schlatt thought he was straight, (thats why tubbo is schlatt's son even tho I headcanon schlatt to be gay) schlatt was also homophobic and transphobic and thats why tubbo when he was 15 he ran away from home (because he told schlatt he was gay and trans but schlatt didn't except him, tho later on schlatt was more accepting of him and actually used the right pronouns and stuff) later on phil found tubbo in a box and basically adopted him, also something cute I'd like to add to the clingyduo headcanon is that tubbo before he met tommy wore a green handkerchief while tommy wore a red handkerchief but when they met and became friends they switched their handkerchiefs so even when their far away from each other they would still remember each other😊.
Lazer, vikk, corpse, pokimane, lilnas x, ninja, ksi and Michaelmcchill will be excluded from this because they logged on there like once. And for anyone wondering AMAB means a person that was born male; AFAB means a person that was born female; AIAB means a person that was born intersex. I chose a question mark for c!Callahan's AGAB because we basically know nothing about their character and their irl self.
Also as a reminder these are CHARACTER headcanons and NOT content creator, do NOT speculate actual people's sexualities and gender identities!!!
(Also its kinda sad to know that most of these people I dont even watch anymore, really the only ones I watch now are wilbur, dadza, techno, tommy, charlie, jack, and on rare occasions i watch the dream team, eret, tubbo, and quackity but even then I rarely watch tommy now, maybe its because im getting older? I honestly dont know why :( )

i full heartedly believe that the ending for the dsmp wasn’t what like, a vast majority of people had planned.
tubbo stated he didn’t like amnesia endings and starting over and it felt like a cop out and i believe he said he had other plans. like two weeks before the finale he said he and tommy had tried to end it for months but a particular person wouldn’t get back to them.
tommy had just gone on a rant about how awful cdream was and how people who are apologists for him just don’t make sense and he said verbatim he was an abusive character and then like a week later we got that ending
not only was it incredibly rushed, but these people had said months before that plans they had for their endings would be good. tommy said ctommy deserved a good ending and that so did chat. wilbur said the same thing about his character.
they talked before about how bad it’d be for characters who went through the specific depictions of abuse and trauma to not get at least a decent ending.
and of course in real life not all things end well, but when you have a story about a kid being abused in nearly every way a person can be, end up coming to an ‘understanding’ with his abused and then dying alone with him, it’s not a good message for fans who, if you remotely even step foot onto the fandom space on twitter or tiktok, clearly can’t understand that that was wrong.
there is no excuse, not one, for someone to abuse or hurt or harm another person, and there shouldn’t be a moment of understanding. not to mention c!dream’s final reasoning being he just wanted it to be how ‘things used to be’ is complete and utter bullshit. if that was his goal since the beginning, he wouldn’t have hurt his friends like he did. he on numerous occasions straight up said they meant nothing to him or he very actively used them for personal gain and didn’t bat an eye. if he’d wanted things to go back, he could’ve relented and gone and lived with his friends who’d literally made their very own space all to themselves, he could’ve forgotten about everything else.
exile was not a step in that direction. nor was doomsday, or fuck november 16th.
cdream egged techno on in chat on november 16th to set off the withers.
he used an revive book to experiment and torture people to ‘understand death’. he assisted in doomsday purely for enjoyment and to break tommy and effectively kill l’manberg, only to tell tommy at the end of it all that he’s doing it because it’s ‘fun’ and their story has only ‘just begun’. or did we forget about in the prison when he wanted tommy to be his lab rat and be immortal with him, to be someone he could kill and revive over and over. ‘wanted things back to normal’ who spat in the face of anyone who every offered him forgiveness and a chance and actively betrayed them anyway.
bullshit. it was an ending tacked on where it seems the only people who genuinely enjoyed it were people who thought tommy was the bad guy in the story because he was annoying. it was also awfully convenient for the story to wrap up with the ending of understanding an abuser and giving cdream a sympathic reasoning for all of his truly heinous actions in the heat of a controversy that dream himself was in which featured accusations of him taking advantage of the power imbalance he has with fans and messaging underage people online genuinely the announcement for the small ending marathon came out days after that came to light.
and cwilbur, oh cwilbur. ccwilbur had gone on about the importance of the stories we tell and the themes he shared. he said he might not be able to promise a happy ending but he could at least a bittersweet one, or one that wasn’t bad.
but then we had the ‘apology’ streams where almost all of them had him apologize for things he genuinely wasn’t at fault for, such as the ‘betraying technoblade’ bs, don’t get me started on that one, or everything involving phil who was textbook definition neglectful of his son, which according to both their characters seemed to happen well into c!wilbur’s youth.
you had him apologize to eret for… what? being betrayed and being murdered and holding a grudge? and yeah they came to a half assed ‘we were both wrong’ conclusion. need i mention that the person who claimed to help with eret’s part of the script was very very much antil’manberg.
over and over wilbur apologized and got shit on
he had a few good moments with tommy but then he just fucking left. he found out about exile and had such intense feelings that he wanted to kill dream himself, but settled for a trick and apology to tommy and left him there on the beach with some lighthearted jokes. suddenly forgetting that if dream really cared about the discs he would’ve stopped when he had them before. utah, fucking utah, which is an ending i wouldn’t even mind if after the fact we weren’t told it’s an ‘allegory for death’ and that somehow any backstory his character had (knowing tommy long before the smp, growing up with and playing in snow and sword fighting ) is suddenly gone because he was an adult when he was suddenly transported to the smp. all of any sort of prior history we had before is gone. and he’s become a stranger.
and utah wouldn’t be a bad ending if it had something else with it, or if it didn’t mean that wilbur just gave up to forget everyone, or allegory for death died anyway, or whatever it’s supposed to mean now. it could’ve been made bittersweet, i could come up with so many ways that his character could’ve ended without any grand ending, how it could’ve ended in a whisper but still fit.
and GHOSTBUR. what so half of wilbur’s soul is stuck in a separate dimension to suffer for all eternity because the gods abandoned the world. well, save for one god who only rescued one maybe two people from limbo because they were friends with her husband. she couldn’t do that to half her son’s soul, or done that earlier in limbo no. only now, when it meant so much to her husband who doesn’t even really care about his son to begin with.
but i’m meant to sit here and accept that everything ended they way it did when months and months before they talked about these characters being beloved and getting endings they needed and that they deserved, giving chat and viewers the endings they deserved, only for it to very suddenly be rushed with an announcement for ‘season two’ and all the hype of that, which isn’t going to happen and we could tell wasn’t going to happen long before it was even properly announced, and everyone had to go go go wrap up. and i get it they need to move on from the dream smp, they’re doing other things right now that are frankly, really cool.
but i personally think that if that was the case, and they were tired and bored and couldn’t get people to get online at certain times, that they could’ve written out all they had planned, said they wouldn’t be able to complete it in full but here is what we wanted to do, and send it
with as much love for that server as they seemed to have.
it just. those endings were so rushed. and they joke about it. and they talk about how they wanted to do things differently. and they talk and it just.
i don’t know what i’m trying to say anymore i’m just so distraught and hearing that we can’t even have a sucky ending have ambiguity for it being good or bad, and now it’s just ‘oh yeah that escape this character made? it was an allegory for death’ its bs and it sucks it sucks.
i’ve watched these characters since the start. i never missed a strea i watched multiple perspectives. i’ve watched everything and i’ve not forgotten details that these creators seem to and it feels like they crumbled up their characters and shoved them in a drawer to forget about after spending so long writing up these grand and frankly beautiful stories. it’s a novel with an ending chapter that is only a page. it’s a novel with footnotes for an epilogue and it feels so bad.
i still love the story, i love the characters, and there were faults all along in the story but those were nothing but blemishes opposed to the absolute black out ending that meant nothing.
