Hayden Christensen - The first time - 2
Tumblr media
let’s pretend that i didnt already start writing this for a separate story before i decided to just add it in for a part 2 please and thank you! Here’s part 1 if you haven’t read it and my masterlist for more!
word count: 1998
You had landed a part in Star Wars after years of auditioning for any possible role. You had struck mainstream fame after a horror movie you did for Rob Zombie. They had introduced an interesting character, they wanted to give Darth Vader a devotee, of course after Padme he never loved again but they wanted to show how exactly he dealt with it immediately after her passing. The audition was a scene in which said devotee breaks after pining for his approval the entire series.
“I have given you everything I am, I betrayed everything I ever knew, and I have done everything you ever asked! Just once I want you to see me, all I do, all I am is for you… Anakin.” Your voice sounded empty, defeated, broken and angry. Unrequited love in the worst case scenario possible, falling in love with a widowed sith lord. The story outside all the theatrics however was quite the opposite.
“Chosen one, how’s your morning old man?” You taunted in a merry voice, the taller blond man just shook his head. A smirk resting on his lips as he scoffed at the weak attempt of a joke.
“You aren’t too far behind me lady,” he dropped his bag onto the blue mat next to yours. Soon Hayden towered over you awaiting the inevitable comeback, something you’d grown accustomed to during training.
“Twelve years is enough for me to give you shit big papi,” you shoved his torso once you felt your neck stiffening at the uncomfortable angle it required to look at him.
“Well I thought you two weren’t supposed to get along,” Dave Filoni, you swear you could spend hours thanking this man for his work in the Star Wars universe, afterall he did create your character.
“Dave!”
“Hayden!”
They briefly shook hands, clearly having a deep respect and adoration for each other as long time coworkers and friends. Behind Dave however was this redhead, she was older than you but still younger than Hayden. She was the trainer's assistant who very much liked to try and correct Hayden, despite him having more experience than most of us. It wouldn’t have struck a chord with you, it shouldn’t have, but when she placed her hands around his arms to adjust his ‘lightsaber’ it angered you deeply. Luckily for you she seemed to be in quite the chipper mood, “Fan- fucking -tastic,” you thought while watching her drool over him.
“-And then we’ll get started on your final battle, sound good?” Dave looked between you and Hayden, a nod coming from you both before he walked away; being replaced by the main trainer, Harry.
“Morning, Milord, lover girl, Jess.” His voice was relaxed as always, he was a gentle man despite the skills he had taught us. He could cheer you up and stop you from being discouraged one moment and then completely body slam you the next. You were forever grateful he was the trainer, because if it was that snotty bitch Jessica, you’d never catch a break. He liked to refer to us using names related to our characters to ‘get us in the headspace’ you just thought it was cute.
“Morning puff, how was the commute this morning?” You teased since he always complained about traffic, but today he gave you a knowing look. Puff was the nickname you gave him, his hair was insanely fluffy and long it also was a very light blonde.
“Well I’ll have you know it was better today, I hope that’s how your choreography goes as well since we’re gonna start breaking down your final battle today.” He grabbed a pole before swiftly turning to us, a test he’d do every now and then to see if we could spring into action. Of course, being the teacher’s pet I’d met his ‘blade’ first.
“Ah my lover girl, always quick on her feet,” his praise made you smile while he stood down, returning to his previous spot.
“She still needs to keep her legs braced properly, her stance is weak,” Jessica spat while she walked over to Harry, twirling her pole in hand cockily. To be fair she’d won many matches against you, but as of recently you had the winning streak.
“Now Jess-”
“Wanna give it a go, see how weak my stance really is?” You proposed, walking out to the middle of the mat, leaving Hayden to stand lonesome in the corner. He loved your drive, your constant need to prove yourself against that wretched woman. Not many people fancied her, it wasn’t hard to understand why, Hayden was not one of those people.
“Any day, any time, you know I’m always ready,” she quickly met you in the middle, poised for action, awaiting your first strike.
“Are you?” You had been working on this rendition of Hayden’s move, it was your personal touch to the character. It was the famous ‘Obi-Ani’ however when the saber went behind your back the blade would be downturned. From there it would switch hands, strike once it was brought forth, then switched back to your right hand. That was exactly how you started, she hadn’t been able to combat it and in the fictional universe her hand would be severed. In the real world, you hit her wrist very hard, you hoped to see the bruise later on.
“Impressive! I didn’t know you had finally polished that move, I think it will do well in the choreo.” Harry quickly declared before getting in between you two. Hayden also approached you, his hand turned your shoulder to face him.
“What even was that?” He sounded impressed, almost childlike especially with the smile that accompanied the question.
“I took your move, and I made it my own master,” you said cockily with a shit eating smile. Harry’s praise made you smile, but Hayden’s interest made you jump for joy.
*.·:·.✧ ✦ ✧.·:·.*
It had been a few hours now, you had gone through 4 out of 10 parts of the battle and you were starting to get frustrated. The lightsaber part had never been an issue, but the footwork on your part was intense. It had to be because by now Anakin was Darth Vader his mobility was nothing like the prequels. To keep Hayden stiff they had pads on his arms and knees to limit the movement. On top of that there was a lot of dialogue throughout the beginning, so you kept circling each other, anticipating each other's next moves.
“Again, let's slow it back dow-“
“No. Let’s do it again, I just need to keep doing this until I get it.” It wasn’t a backflip or some mind blowing parkour, however the transition from running, to sliding, up to your knees; and then trying not to fall back while Hayden pushed down on you with his saber wasn’t easy.
“Do you want me to ease up?” God sometimes you just wanted to hit him with the pole when he tried to water it down for you. He came from a good place but amidst your frustration, and Jessica’s relentless corrections you were losing control.
“No, just start again at 3”
“Okay, on your line”
And with a heavy sigh you repeated the last line of your spiel. “Just once I want you to see me, all I do, all I am is for you… Anakin.” Your voice was harsh, it was unmissable so as Hayden began his attack, you deflected with more force than normal. Your jaw was clenched and your fists tight. Your eyes were set on Hayden, it was like you were doing the scene for the actual take, hell it was like you were actually living this scenario.
“Anakin is no more, I killed hi-“
“Liar!”
You stepped forward going back into the confrontation, your sabers clashing louder than before. Grunts leaving your throat as you push your tired body to perfection, until you catch sight of Jessica. Her glare stuck on you as if you killed her favorite person, it just made you fume. The next part is when you cut off Vader’s left hand and while normally you let Hayden put his hand down, you hit the back of his hand. Finally it had clicked that you weren’t okay, something was bothering you and he had a pretty good idea why. However he remained silent and followed through with the scene.
“All this time, did you think I might fall in love with you? Your pride consumes you, padawan.”
“And your grief consumes you.” You said through clenched teeth, this was where you had to jump off a blue block they’d set up. As you jumped down, you rolled onto your knees before running at Hayden, and to avoid his saber you slid beneath it. Once you turned to face him, you hurriedly got onto one knee finally making it on time before your sabers clashed. He pushed down on you and you could feel your shoe slip against the slick fabric of the mats. You were fed up with this plastic always fucking this part up so you pushed back with all your upper body strength.
Not your best moment.
Hayden fell back as you stood up and this finally calmed you down from your mood. You breathed heavily while you walked over to help him back up, twirling your saber mindlessly. You looked down at the blonde, holding your hand out wordlessly in embarrassment.
“Sorry, I just-“
“Let’s take a break, and talk about this.” Hayden interjected before hurriedly ushering you to the parking lot. There was nothing to say, it was childish of you to act out, it was embarrassing, you couldn't begin to process the emotions pooling in your stomach. He unlocked his car and opened the door for you without hesitation, he was scarily calm as you got in the passenger seat. It didn’t take long for him to get into the driver’s seat, long strides equaled less steps. Once he was seated the silence continued for a moment, you wouldn’t dare meet his gaze.
“Jessica is a hard person to be around, I’m sure you’ve had a few instances like that in the workplace. Y/N you are giving her what she wants when you get angry, people like that thrive off your misery.” Hayden Christensen, he had to be God’s favorite, he was so nice and understanding. A gentle giant trying to reason with a short psycho, perfect.
“It disappoints you as much as it does me-“
“I’m not disappointed in you, if anything I’m proud… surprised even.”
“Surprised?”
“Yeah, Harry assumed you would’ve chewed her head off by now. You saved me 20 bucks”
“So what I’m hearing is you think I could win in a fight.” The mood was lighter now, you both sported bright smiles while the banter continued.
“I wouldn’t have put money on you if I didn’t think you would,” he was being sincere and you knew by the way he spoke so effortlessly.
“Might not be for much longer, it’s like she gets worse everyday- that or my tolerance is getting shorter.” This time your tone sounded defeated, sure you’ve dealt with more stressful things in life, but it seemed as though you had no more patience left. Hayden quickly took note of this and used the leverage of you being a Star Wars nerd to cheer you up.
“Have faith love, everything will soon be set right… I’ve been told she’ll be transferred to a different project anyway. Someplace far far away from us,” His voice dwindled to a hushed volume, it was soothing.
“That would bring peace to the entire city.” He laughed at your brutal joke before changing the subject.
“So do you think we can go in there and try to play nice?” The question lingered for a moment before you reluctantly answered him.
“I don’t make promises.”
“But?”
“But… I will try.”
“Atta girl.”

Everything Happens to Me
Everything Happens To Me
Charles Leclerc x Reader.
background: It was well known to everybody that Charlotte and Charles were maybe the most loved couple on the paddock, so when they broke up everyone started going crazy and wondering what will Charles do or date now, times where difficult, but little did Charles know that his life was about to be turn upside down by an Italian girl living in Monaco. (forbidden love)
Tumblr media
I am not 100% happy with this, but I have a plot in my mind that I think might have potential, so I hope you like this one despite not being the absolute best. Let me know if you have any suggestions. Love you flowers.
tw: none in this particular one, maybe swearing, but I don’t think so. Some bad translated french maybe. not proof read, english is not my first language.
Dialogue in italics are in Italian.
Meeting each other.
Where y/n and Charles met each other for the first time stuck in a restaurant garden out in the cold.
Y/n has been living in Monaco for quite a while now and she actually enjoys it very much there, besides that everything is kinda expensive, but what she is making as an influencer gets her the money she needs to live there. One day she is having dinner at a restaurant to shoot some content for a brand “Sorry where may I find the bathroom?” “It’s in the garden outside.”.
It’s late November and it’s already pretty chilly in Monaco and it was almost closing time. She goes to the bathroom and has to wait for a small queue because the bathroom was gender neutral. Charles is at the same restaurant having dinner by himself after a long travel back to Monaco returning from a race, the times have been difficult to him, with Charlotte’s break up and a series of eventful races that made him hate his team more than ever. As soon as he finished his food he decides to freshen up in the bathroom as well ending up in the small queue that formed in the small outdoor garden. As y/n enters the loo Charles is waiting for his turn outside the door. Meanwhile the people who are working in the shop start to close up without checking if someone is in the garden or the bathroom. Y/n gets out and recognizes right away Charles smiling at him, but thinking it might not be the best occasion to talk to him as he of course needs the bathroom, so she washes her hands and head to the door leading to the restaurant “No way” she raises her eyebrows while trying to open the very locked door.
After trying for a few minutes Charles gets out of the bathroom and sees her struggling with the door “Besoin d'aide ?”Do you need help? he asks her “Oui, Ça ne s'ouvre pas, j'ai peur qu'ils nous aient enfermés.”Yes, it doesn’t open, I’m afraid they might have locked us inside says her with a strong Italian accent “Oh, you’reItalian?” asks him showing off his Italian skills to her while trying to open the entrance “Oh no, I think it might be closed ” he declares with a worried look on his face. She tries again and again, shivering because she has been staying in the cold for twenty minutes now “I’ll try to call the restaurant number, maybe someone will come for us” she says, he is starting to get cold to and decided to go sit on a little sofa. y/n calls them and luckily they answer right away “Merci, Il n'y a pas de problèmes”, thanks there is no problem she goes sit near Charles “Well, good news is they’re coming to save us, the bad one is that the only person that has got the keys lives one hour from here.” Charles breathes deeply incredulous about the situation “By the way, I’m Charles” says him smiling at her while she’s sitting on his side “I’m y/n, nice to meet you” she smiled at him. “it’s a weird way to meet someone, isn’t it?” he jokes around, she nods in agreement. “Even more if one of the two is a F1 driver” she jokes just to letting him know she know who he is. “It’s bloody cold out here” y/n is shivering and don’t really know how to feel a bit warmer “Too much and we still have to wait at least forty minutes” Charles says lowkey scooping a little closer to her, she notices that and does it as welltryin to relieve the uncomfortable feeling of the cold air on her sking. “How come do you live in Monaco?” he asks her trying to chat the wait away “Well, I have a degree in Journalism and I work here as an influencer.” she answers, they start talking about the city and the life there and eventually about their own lives. Charles starts telling her about the last races and all the drama following his breakup with Charlotte and y/n listen to him leaning with the head against the sofa trying to stay comfy, but at the same time feel a less cold. Y/n tells him a lot about her life to and how she had to leave everyone behind because following her dream at home is nearly impossible, she tells him how she loves Monaco even if she hasn’t many friends here and feels a bit lonely at times. It is obvious that there is some sort of chemestry between there, having lots of things in common and both of them being incredibly interested in one and another’s lives.
Eventually someone arrives and opens the door for them apologizing like hell and offering us a free dinner “Vous pouvez venir quand vous voulez pour votre dîner gratuit ! Désolé encore.”You two can come when you’d like for a free dinner, I am so sorry! They finally get out and stop in front of the door “Thanks for being such a good waiting companion” he smiles at her “Thank you and you can have the free dinner. Don’t worry.” she offers him handing him the coupon that they gave them “Why don’t we come together, at the end of the day it’s a dinner for two, unless you don’t have a jealous boyfriend you didn’t tell me about” he giggles looking at her in the eyes, she slightly blush at those words “No boyfriend, so that’s not a problem. But are you sure? You don’t have to if you don’t feel like it.” he nods smiling “That’s perfect then, this is my number calls me when you’re up to it.“ She says leaving him a small business card “I know it’s a bit formal, but it’s useful to be honest.”. They both laugh saying goodbye.
Charles immediately writes to her when she gets home, thing that she wasn’t expecting, and they keep talking everyday until they’re both free for that free dinner. After that dinner there were many others friendly meetings with an excuse or another “I should take you to this italian restaurant”, “I have to take you to oceanograph if you have never been to it” “there’s this nice exbition we shoul really go together” and things like that. At last Charles after a workout together at the gym where he devastated y/n with his f1 workout he asks “I was wondering if you’d like to go out sometimes” y/n giggles at those words not really getting it “Charles, did the workout hit too hard on you? We always hang out together when you’re at home.” He laughs nervously “I didn’t mean it that way. I meant it more like: Dans le sens où j'aimerais avoir un rendez-vous avec toi.” I would like to go on a date with you. y/n blushes at those words, was really a guy like Charles fucking Leclerc wanting to go on a date with her. “I would love that” she says almost quietly afraid to ruin it. “Okay, I plan it and you trust me.” those words scared y/n already “Mm.. J'ai peur, mais c'est bon.” I’m already scared but alright. Both feel so happy about the outcome of that conversation and go home with the biggest smiles on their faces.

But do you guys not fight because you don't disagree on things, or because you don't think it's worth the bother? Lucy. Yeah? You deserve someone who's worth the effort. […] Do you love him? I mean, we haven't even been dating that long. It's not… He loves you. I know. I know, and I feel like I should love him back. He's so great in so many different ways. It's just… He's just not...
| ANATOMY OF A SCENE - CHENFORD EDITION 5.08 - The Collar
After all the hesitancy, the longing, the yearning… the evading of the past few months… Here they are, one small leap away from getting everything they want… from getting together. And it couldn't be more fitting that in the end, all Tim and Lucy needed was to ride together again. This is how their relationship started after all. What forged their bond. Just like it couldn't be more poetic that the same man who decided to partner them up in the first place, is also the one who pushed them back together. Giving them the final nudge they needed to ultimately sort things out between them. To get out of that awkward stage where they were both cognisant of their feelings for each other but didn't know how to move forward. Riding together again means being back on familiar grounds, in a place where they both feel comfortable and at ease. And it shows : it takes them mere minutes before they are back to their old dynamic, joking about how hopeless Tim is. His grumpiness, her fondness… This is inherently them. They do what they do best when together : communicate. That's the one component that was truly missing since their first kiss. They both peel everything back, layer by layer… And what little walls they had left, crumble.
But what makes all of this even more beautiful is that Tim is the one helping Lucy with her feelings… Like she did so many times for him. This is what makes their relationship so special. They genuinely want the best for the other. This is why he is trying to be encouraging when he finds out that Chris wants to buy a house with her, telling her that is an 'obvious next step', even though it is killing him on the inside… Which is not that dissimilar to how Lucy was practically trying to convince him that getting married with Ashley was a 'no-brainer' on paper, despite her feelings for him. It's only once he realises that Lucy isn't happy at all that he intervenes… Once he witnesses how insensitive Chris is, blatantly disregarding her feelings after she just saw a woman being blown up… And yet, Tim never makes it about him or them. This is about Lucy, how she is settling. And he loves her far too much to let that happen without trying to make her see that she deserves better than that.
A point he makes very clear when he sees her getting more and more annoyed with every text messages and listings she receives. This is really the moment where he stops holding back, questioning why she doesn't just spell it out and admit to Chris that she doesn't want to move in with him. And he's not entirely wrong… But it is also deeply ironic since he used to behave the same way with Ashley. Maybe he's a bit hypocritical here. Or maybe he has the advantage of hindsight. He can see how Lucy is doing the same mistakes than he did : everything he tells her could have applied to his relationship with Ashley. He also has her best interests at heart and Tim, at his core, is someone who will fight and stick up for the people he loves. That said, Lucy isn't wrong either : she is trying to understand why she is shying away from committing to Chris. This is the psych major talking. And this is a very good thing : she has been lying to herself for so long, reeling from Rosalind and everything she did to her, denying her feelings, that she needs to untangle and unravel them first. Something she hasn't been able to do since she didn't have anyone to help her with this - until now. She needs to talk things out to process them and that's what Tim does with her. Just like he did back then with Emmett.
His face when she tells him she never fights with Chris… He immediately knows what the issue is. From personal experience but mostly, because he knows Lucy, how passionate she can be… how often they argue. It's part of their banter, of their dynamic. They fight and argue because they care. So for her not to do that in her own relationship is a red flag for him. It's quite telling that when he points it out, her first reaction is to laugh it off and joke - that is, before he asks her if she doesn't fight because she doesn't think it's worth the bother… That's when his words, the truth, really hit her. Her little intake of breath… She's starting to put the pieces of the puzzle together. Because she used to argue with Chris. She was this close to hitting him when she met him. But somewhere along the way, she gave up. The way Tim calls her by her first name to really catch her attention… telling her she deserves 'someone who is worth the effort', that she deserves better than settling… making sure to maintain eye contact with her to emphasise his point… The chills. The little clench of his jaw… How he turns his head back to the road… It's like he has revealed too much and needs a bit of distance. But Lucy is looking right at him, processing what he just said. His words are indubitably resonating with her.
And that encourages Tim to be even bolder a bit later by asking her if she loves Chris. The way he looks at her before that question - or after… He may be a tad anxious but I think at this point, he has a pretty good idea of what her answer will be. He's not judging her or telling her that she should love her boyfriend : he's simply guiding her, helping her figure things out for herself. And her silence is deafening. Just like it was when Chris told her those three words and she didn't reply. Tim is looking at her expectantly, but she remains evasive, deflecting by pretending that it hasn't been that long (even though it is probably one of her longest relationship). And he can see right through her : he used pretty much the same tactics when their role were reversed and Lucy was asking him if he could picture himself marrying Ashley. Only he doesn't let her off the hook as easily. The fact that the first thing she feels is guilt for not loving Chris back should tell her everything. And it is the confirmation that she stayed with him out of guilt, or at least, a twisted form of it. She can finally admit to herself that she doesn't have feelings for him, despite her best efforts to force herself to… She finally gets to her revelation, realising why she can't, when she blurts out 'He's just not…'. The silent 'you' is so loud and clear. Tim may not have caught on the implication behind that sentence, but she has. The way she turns to watch him and rubs her side, where her tattoo is, just highlights this. After all her denial and bargaining, she has come to that final stage : acceptance. She's allowing herself to accept that she is in love with Tim. And that changes everything. Again. And that's scary. This marks their last conversation in the shop, before the one in front of the station… the one that crescendoes in them taking that final leap together.
(To be continued…)

don't mind me i'm just dropping my review of dune part 2 here because i really really really loved this movie and it changed me on a molecular level and i can't stop thinking about it and everyone should watch it it's so good i'm not joking it's literally one of the best films i've ever watched. ok anyway, review:
I remember very clearly the day I finished Dune. I remember how I was sitting at the kitchen table, eating rice & beans with a spoon in one hand, and holding my dad's battered and loved mass market in the other hand. I remember how I read the final words and closed the book slowly. How I got up to go sit in my dad's home office and stare into space in disbelief at what I'd just read. I remember how I looked at my dad and I said "I can see why it's your favorite. I think it's mine too."
I saw Dune Part 2 on opening night, in IMAX, with my dad. And to say it was a night to remember is an understatement. I can say with full confidence that seeing this film is sure to become a core memory.
The sheer power of this film is something to behold. I don't think there was a single moment in those 166 minutes that I wasn't entirely immersed in the film, my eyes were glued to that screen like never before.
There were moments during the movie where I was genuinely frightened, moments that had me on the edge of my seat. I know how this story goes, I know how it ends, I know who lives and who dies. And yet...
Paul Atreides is a scary man by the end of this story. The transformation he undergoes after drinking the Water of Life is unsettling, and Timothee did a fantastic job of portraying it. Paul's speeches about how he is The One- The Lisan Al-Gaib- are damning. You can see how much he believes now that he must be the messiah and how deeply the Fremen believe in him, but you can also see how dangerous he is. The power in his words is scary because I know how much damage the search for one person to save us all can cause. His final speech instills a sense of breath-stealing deep in the audience. It's frightening and disturbing because I know that this kind of religious zealotry is not being played up for the sake of theatrics; it is very, very real.
Jessica's religious indoctrination is scarily accurate to the indoctrination I've witnessed in my own life. The way she talks of "converting the non believers" reminds me a little too much of how I was taught to share the Word of God with those who didn't believe in Christ or God while I was in catholic school. And while her own indoctrination is terrifying to witness, what is worse is watching how she spreads her propaganda amongst the Fremen. By the end, they believe that Paul will save them; rather than being saved by their own people.
Despite knowing that Stilgar's faith is largely due to Bene Gesserit propaganda that speaks of a messiah, I still find him to be an admirable character. His unwavering and unshakeable faith mimics the faith of many religious people I know in real life. I've always envied that kind of faith, the kind that prevails regardless of hardship or pain or loss. I sometimes wish I could have that kind of faith, I wish I could believe in something that strongly. Stilgar is not shaken by anything Paul or Chani or any other Fremen say. He believes with his whole being that Paul is the Lisan Al-Gain, and that he will save them all.
"I don't care what you believe. I believe!"
And it's just such a well crafted movie. Shai-Hulud looks so good in this film (the sand worm riding scenes were breathtaking). The cinematography, the soundtrack, the acting; everything feels so intentional. I'm so grateful this film exists.
This movie will stick with me for a while, if not forever. It so faithfully portrays not only the story but the themes of Dune. This film was clearly made with love, care, and adoration for the source material. I couldn't be more grateful.
As the film came to a close, as Jessica's final words rang in my ears, as I watched Chani prepare to ride Shai-Hulud, I did not know what to do with myself. As the credits began to roll everyone around me stood up while I stayed seated. As I peeled myself out of my seat to leave, the music that played rang throughout the theater. I was breathing heavy, I turned to my dad, and we concluded that this was a truly wonderful film.
in conclusion, i can die happy knowing my favorite novel of all time has been so perfectly adapted.

Wowee, five days late, but here is my April Fool's Day picture! What's the joke here? Well, that's the joke! There isn't one at all except for one foolish woman's endeavors.
This is a drawing of my Addison lady, Thetalan (aka Theta), loosely based on the Fool Card of a tarot deck.
During the 1990s, Theta was a naive White Addison lady who fell deeply in love with Spamton G. Spamton, the BIG SHOT himself! Years before he burst into stardom, the two had a chance encounter in 1993 when Spamton was still building his wealth. While Theta was working at a sports arena on her first day, Spamton approached her stand to buy beer for him and his friend. However, he noticed her lack of training and, as a small gesture of kindness, showed her how to properly pour a beer from the tap before handing her a generous $20 tip. This encounter embedded into her very SOUL; Theta never forgot him, and her adoration for him grew into unconditional love in the years that followed.
Like the fabled sun in their world without one, she gazed upon his visage in awe and often said, "Someday, I want to be just like him and shine brightly above the city lights!"
Despite her best efforts, he rose higher and higher while she remained nothing more than a regular Addison. However, this did not stop her from believing that someday they would surely talk again!
Thoughts of love swirled in her mind, inspiring her to write him many poems, but she never had the courage to mail them. Then, one day in 1997, Spamton announced the opening of a dedicated PO box to send him fan letters with the possibility of reading his favorite ones on TV. This was her chance to finally get him to acknowledge her love for all to witness!
She rushed to her desk and poured all her devotion onto the paper, confessing every thought and feeling she had since their initial encounter. With a heart-shaped seal, she sent the love letter off, praying that he would find hers, remember that small moment they shared, and let all of CYBER WORLD and the neighboring Dark Worlds know how much he meant to her.
Every episode of the SPAMTON LOVE NETWORK sent her heart pounding. Surely there would come the day he'd find hers in all those piles of fan letters? She never gave up hope and believed he would read hers one day!
However, by 1998, Spamton's sales and net worth declined. The SPAMTON LOVE NETWORK was canceled in 1999 when a mysterious health condition robbed him from going on stage again. Crestfallen, Theta sobbed, knowing she'd never hear her "prince" announce her words of love. She prayed from the core of her SOUL, hoping he read her letter despite everything and kept it close to his heart.

After watching the preview episode of the re-cap show, my first thought is actually a confirmation of something I believe for awhile now, and it's that in my opinion Tobin & Christen truly are in a different phase of their life now. They've changed, right in front of our eyes, they have built this whole other work reality that no longer NEEDS to be connected with the field, they are beyond. I'm not saying they're retiring tomorrow (even though I think they WILL do it very soon), I just feel they have found their dimension elsewhere. And it's deeply beautiful.
I noticed just how GOOD they are despite this being their first experience in this kind of projects. I remember Tobin's first videos for the company, about her art, and she didn't even look at the camera. Since becoming co-ceo, and maybe since stepping up after Pinoe's silent exit, she kinda found this new confidence. She joins events and promotional works by herself that before she would have attended only with Christen, or not attended at all.
Now she produces and hosts a show, and she's funny, charming, thoughtful, wonderfully loud when she laughs and freely honest when she speaks.
Even the choice of their first guest is pretty revealing. It actually tells how little we know about their lives and their relationships. That's why I usually talk about opinions and impressions, because that's all we have.
And exactly about my opinion about their new phase of their life, I think Ellis and Christen probably might have talked about things at some point. And not about her tactical choices but about her silence when Christen tried to expose Dames' toxic behaviour. It's not something you just ignore and sit together to joke, laugh and talk Football.
The interview was actually really brilliant and honest. I think Tobin took the lead because anyway she had a different relationship with Ellis but also it really seemed more her space, she has always had a complete vision of football, tactically and strategically. That's why it seemed she really talked Ellis' language. And it was deeply fascinating, curious and educative.
I'm not gonna deny that listening to Ellis actually talking about football and about her choices was truly interesting. Despite all her personal mistakes, I think she really knows her job, and she knows how to do it. I never heard Vlatko having such professional insights and I really admired him before, when I still had not realized he has no idea how to manage team and players and he doesn't really care about them either.
Ellis was pretty honest about her tactical decisions, I don't know if she would do exactly the same now, especially with Christen. But I still love how equally honest Christen was with her. The quote "I'd let you babysit my daughter but I don't think I'll play you in this game" is not really a joke and both of them know it. But it was a moment of Truth.
I think Ellis appreciated and appreciates Christen both as person and player, she made a choice, a debatable one, but still hers. And Christen faced her for it. But in the end I liked to see that she still considered her time playing for Ellis as a learning experience, it puts everything in perspective.
I always thought Christen was way much more than the sweet and zen person we often see. She did make a few interesting remarks to Ellis among the lines of jokes, she knows how to tease Tobin (probably her favourite pastime), she can be snarky and witty, and it's pretty awesome.
That's why I was in love with the blunt confrontation between Tobin & Christen. It was actually what I expected, Tobin always so free and direct, Christen so smart, witty and a little biting! The Daily Debate was just amazing but what I noticed is that every time Tobin talked, with Jill or simply telling something, she always included Christen in her moments, in her thoughts, her memories, her experiences, she looked at her, waited for her reaction.
The most technical part of the conversation was so intriguing for a football fan. I loved the Marginal Gain philosophy, it's the success in the details.
Also, about the USWNT, I think Tobin doesn't have much admiration for Vlatko, as coach and person. At one point she said something like "talking about chewing and spitting …" and she went on saying she and Christen wouldn't be at the World Cup, it says something.
In the end, I think they really nailed this first episode. I wanna see Christen take the lead in the next episodes and I can't wait for them!

i'm getting used to the idea that my opinions in this fandom will often be the opposite of whatever the general public seems to think, but i thought human nature and family of blood were just... okay. they're very... charming episodes, to be sure, the storyline is novel and the sets, cinematography, costumes and acting are great, i just feel like it left me feeling bitter more than it left me thinking ‘oh, that's a nice episode!’
this, of course, mostly resides in how martha was treated as a character. after two episodes which, more or less, seemed to highlight her qualities and actions and existence beside her feelings for the doctor, we're back at it. and i'm tired of martha being sandboxed in them. and i know that's the whole thing with her storyline, but it's so hurtful to witness over and over how she'll basically never be enough for the doctor, no matter the universe—mostly because so little of it rings true to me. i do not believe ten would never look at her twice. i do not believe there is no way he could fall for her. i do not believe he doesn't like her. he surely likes her enough to flirt with her, and the writers have such fun planting all those little innuendos in his dialogue toward (or regarding) her, but it's like they take some sort of perverse pleasure out of then shutting the door in her face and trying to make the audience believe that's rightful and that she has no reason to be hurt by it. it's exhausting.
martha does have the single most important role here, as she does in quite the number of episodes in her run as the companion. i always joke that the doctor would have regenerated 53 million times if it wasn't for martha, but that's actually not much of a joke. she's saved him so many times. and when, at the beginning, the doctor asks her whether she trusts him, what he really should've done is he should've told her “i trust you”, because the whole thing boiled down to martha having to fix his mess and the doctor 100% believing she would. at least he said something about everything being in her hands, which could be counted as implicit admission of trust, but yeah. the dialogue implying she is the one to have to trust that the doctor will come back to her, despite having to be the one to make him come back, is just...
i adore ten. he is the reason i started watching the show—well, tennant is—and i felt his absence so much during these two episodes that when john smith briefly spoke in the tenth doctor way of speaking my heart grew three sizes, but there's something deeply... off with his characterization at times. or maybe it isn't off, as such, just his flaws are highlighted a lot more than other doctors'—which is fine, per se, he's a 900+ old alien i don't want, need nor expect him to be perfect. it's just, coupled with the questionable general arc of this season with martha and him always in this wobbly, awkward spot between friendship and something else, and the way they seem to use martha as a cushion to fall back onto and punch when the doctor fucks up, it leaves a bad aftertaste in my mouth i guess. specifically because i think too much, and i often think about how so many people dislike martha for things that have so little to do with her and so much to do with the absence of rose, the faults of the doctor and the disservice the writers did to what could've been—and has been, if you look at her—an amazing character. a widely beloved one.
you know what, the episode would have been fine. john smith wasn't the doctor, he had this thing with the nurse or whatever, fine. part of the plot, i guess, was that of course he wouldn't have wanted to give humanity up, and what better reason not to want that than to feel love while trapped as a human? fine. but what i don't really get, and what makes me feel a little sick to my stomach actually, is the ending. where he goes back and talks to joan and asks her, or really, when you think about it, tries to manipulate her into coming with him. that's nothing new, the doctor is pretty manipulative and always has been, but he usually uses the allure of space-time travel and breathtaking sights and incredible adventures to basically kidnap his companions like some sort of old ass peter pan, and he's honest with it. he does genuinely think, every time, that what he'll offer the people he takes with him is so much better than whatever they might be thinking of doing with their lives that they will ultimately be happy they followed him. and they are, until they aren't, because that's the tragedy in doctor who for you, but here. here, he uses feelings. he uses joan's feelings for john and somehow promises her he's still capable of whatever john was, including falling for her. and why would he do that. that's just mean. to joan, to martha, hell, even to himself. i really have absolutely no clue what they were trying to do with this scene except, as i said, highlighting his flaws. because he knows damn well. he knows damn well that, even if he were to fall for her, she'd have to leave or die and it would break both of their hearts. that's the whole theme with him, isn't it? i thought it was. he's just experienced that with rose and he's keeping everyone at arms-length because he doesn't want it to happen again, and that's understandable. but then he goes and does this. i don't know. i simply don't know. there's also the whole thing where joan tells him she wants nothing to do with him, because she's in love with john—not some doctor—and he, the doctor, has caused so much harm choosing that specific place in space-time to hide. and the thing is, he's so creepy in that whole scene. when he speaks to her, the things he says, how he says them, how he looks at her when she calls him out. amazing acting, but there's something so dark about him in these episodes that i can't help but want to crawl out of my skin.
one might argue that he tried to get her to come with him because he remembered what john felt for her, or at least what happened between them. and that's further sustained by them hinting at him remembering what martha said to him about him being everything, and her loving him to bits. but that just makes it feel more gratuitously mean to everyone involved (so, ten as well), and steeps the two episodes in this... bitterness, which takes from the overall enjoyment. for me, at least.
there's also other things i disliked about the ep, like when in the video the doctor tells martha ‘you. don't make me leave you behind’ which kind of sounds like he was expecting he would? same way as he was expecting he'd hurt people because that's what humans do, which i agree with, but why underline the fact that he was potentially going to leave her? of course she would have stayed close in order to make him turn back to himself, i don't think that really needed saying. that's just one of the little jabs to martha the writers love to insert in scripts. thing is, i despise them! anyway, the post is long as it is, just—if there's one thing i loved (and it wasn't nearly enough to make up for the rest, but,), it was the way ten hugs martha after he tells her ‘thanks for looking after me’. with his eyes closed and that genuine, childlike smile. engulfing her completely. i so wish things had gone differently between them.

You don’t know what time it is, can’t bring yourself to check your phone and see his little smiling face staring back at you from your wallpaper screen. Arthur is running his thumb over your knuckles softly, while you grip onto him as hard as you can. He’s your lifeline, your tether to the Earth right now and you can’t let go lest you fall off. The crook of Arthur’s neck fits your head perfectly, his muscular shoulder the perfect pillow in amongst possibly the least comfortable room you’ve ever had the displeasure of sitting in. His light blue shirt has little pools of a darker shade where your tears have fallen and clung to the cotton.
You tired eyes scan over the posters on the wall opposite you, seeing adverts for tick treatments and infographics on spaying and neutering. You and Arthur are the only two in the waiting room, as they said you could wait here until Moose was ready to be collected, so the silence is agonising. You focus hard on the sensation of his calloused thumb pad running over your softer skin, trying to keep your mind on Arthur as to not let it wander. It’s hard, not thinking of all the things that could be going wrong right now.
“He’ll be okay. Everything’s gonna be alright.” Arthur whispers, as if he has a map to exactly where your mind is right now. You exhale deeply through your nose, not enjoying how clinical everything smells whenever you try to inhale to calm yourself down.
“I know. I just miss him. Time goes so much slower when you’re in a waiting room…” you sigh, nuzzling more into Arthur’s side. You want to melt into him, want to shut your eyes and be back in your home with your boys, but you have to wait for one of them to come back from theatre.
“Lil’ man’s strong, darlin’. You raised him strong, and you did right by him. He’s gonna be fine.”
You’ll never understand how Arthur always knows just what to say. The worry swirling around in your mind that this is somehow your fault dies a little with each of your husband’s words. You did right by him. He’s gonna be fine.
“You think we did the right thing? He’s so small, I just don’t-“
“I know we did. You always do right by him. Hell, I ain’t ever seen you drive like that to get him here on time… you’re his momma, darlin’, of course you did right by him.”
There isn’t anything on this Earth but your lil guy in your arms that could possibly make you feel better, but somehow Arthur manages, just a little bit. You laugh weakly, shaking your head slightly.
“I did nearly run that poor old woman over, didn’t I?”
“I think I saw her get back up, should be alright.” He jokes, glancing down at you to witness the very first smile of the night creeping across your lips. You nudge Arthur in the side gently, just so grateful to have him. You’re about to attempt a witty comeback, but are interrupted (thank god, as you're sure reminding him of the time he ran John over on his own driveway wasn’t going to win this argument for you) by a nurse entering the room. In unison, you and Arthur stand, grasping each other's hand tightly.
“Moose Morgan?” She asks, despite you two being the only people in the room. You nod, feeling your heart pounding in your chest and your knees shake with pure anxiety. It’s only after a few seconds do you notice the smile adorning her tired face, “Everything went well. He’s awake. A little drowsy, but awake. Do you wanna see him?”
═══════☆═══════
“Hey, little Moose!” Arthur speaks in a hushed voice, not wanting to disrupt the peace of the room. Moose perks up, peering out of his tiny cone to find the origin of the noise. He loves Arthur, has done since the day you first brought him home to ‘meet the kids’ (your dogs and horses), and it shows by the way his tail wags at the very sound of his dad’s voice, “How you doin’, buddy? We missed ya’.”
Words fail you when you finally lay eyes on him, his fluffy little body all curled up in a blanket. He sits up when he sees you, so very excited to see his momma that he lets out a little yip. Tears pool in the corners of your eyes as you kneel down to him, lifting the blanket up and him with it. It takes a second of manoeuvring around the cone, but you managed to place a soft kiss on Moose’s head. He tries to return the gesture, but his tiny tongue won’t reach past his new outfit. You giggle, holding him close to you.
“It’s okay, baby. I’ve got you- Momma’s got you.”
Arthur wraps an arm around your shoulder, rubbing up and down your arm softly. He glances out of the window of the clinic, suddenly struck with the best idea when he realises the sun is rising.
“Hey, how ‘bout we go get you both a treat? Starbucks should be open soon, and I think this calls for one of them pup cup things. Whatchu’ think?”
Moose yips, apparently already feeling much improved.
“I think Moose has spoken.”
Arthur chuckles, reaching to scratch behind the little dog’s ear,
“Right you are, boss man.”

feel free to use this ask as a reason to ramble about eternal sunshine of a spotless mind, id love to hear
oh man okay you asked for it spoilers for eternal sunshine of the spotless mind under the cut
I just think this movie is such a good display of a toxic/unhealthy relationship. joel and clementine are terrible for each other. by the time they're at their bitter end, they constantly argue and insult each other and neither one feels like a good person when they're around the other. but they also truly, deeply love each other. the tragic thing about those kinds of toxic relationships is that it comes to the question of "is it more painful for us to be together or for us to be apart?"
the end of the movie is just what drives me the most insane. after hearing the tape recordings from each of their mind erasure sessions they know full well how this relationship is going to play out. it's not like they broke up, learned from their mistakes and worked to become better people, and then got back together. they didn't learn anything because they erased the other from their memory! there's no chance for them to not repeat those mistakes. it's going to happen. they both know where this is going to lead. but that love is still there even if they can't remember it. they still feel drawn to the other person. the theme of is the pain you'll feel at the end worth the love you feel during it is just one that I love thinking about. it's so raw and messy and human. you know you're going to hurt this person but you want to love and be loved by them anyway. you're not meant for each other but you're going to pretend to be for as long as you can. it's tragic and beautiful and again, so utterly human.
and of course there's the smaller things like clementine being a fantastic deconstruction of the manic pixie dream girl trope before the manic pixie dream girl was even formally named. like yes she's got colorful hair and a quirky personality but then you see that oh, she's actually fucked up. at the start of the movie when we're introduced to her post memory wipe, she's blunt and spins wildly between moods and she's got the colorful hair and talks about wanting to name the dye colors—she's got the quirky weird girl personality! then as we go through joel's memories we see that bluntness and those mood swings aren't a joke. she can genuinely be a mean person and her entire mood flips on joel in two seconds flat just because he made a single comment. the quirkiness isn't a cutesy thing, it's a facet of her personality that might seem intriguing and fun at the start, but does also cause issues in the relationship later on.
and joel is an interesting dive into the nice nerdy guy who ends up with the manic pixie dream girl trope too. yes he's awkward and nice and offers her a ride home and all that, and doesn't really know how to respond to her flirting in an awkward but charming way. but then later on (or technically earlier on as we go back through joel's memories) we see that while he's quiet, he's very judgemental. he thinks of himself as better than clementine and picks at her flaws in his head. the fact that he never puts a voice to his thoughts lets him bottle things up inside and makes him bitter. like how clementine's bluntness is strangely charming at first, joel's awkwardness is only charming until it makes it impossible for him to properly communicate his feelings with his partner.
and again, despite all this they love each other. they love each other so fucking much. and they would rather be hurt by one another than be happy with someone else.
and yeah theres also the subplots with the memory wiping staff and I really liked the inclusion of the girl who works there finding out she asked for her memory of her affair with her boss to be wiped and how betrayed and violated she feels after finding that out and all that, but the highlight for me is always just joel and clementine and everything about their fucked up dynamic.
we all know on this blog that I love unhealthy and messy relationships. and tbh I think it started with this movie! out of my top 4 movies, 3 of them (including this one) are about complicated messy relationships between people so. I have a type lol.

A pro-IC post? No, actually. But kinda?
So as usual I'm talking with a lovely mutual and an idea hits me but I need to post to express it better
Rhys didn't need to have a literal blank sheet sister when he has Mor? And their relationship could have been done so much better than what we got (as usual)
Like overall it's obviously heinous but unexcused or justified by the narrative it could have been very sweet : the idea of Mor being this dreamer caught in a court of nightmares.
Like imagine stiff family dinners and Rhysand using his daemati abilities to slip jokes and snarky remarks like they're kicks under the table.
Imagine older Mor so tired of feeling trapped in the mountain and Rhys taking her flying cause that's what his mom used to do to cheer him up
And he even sneaks her to the camp to meet his best friends because she's also one of his best friends and they spend the night drinking and laughing and he just finds this little piece of his life that he wants to protect so badly
(Stealing from my anon who said the dresses were for Rhys' sister) Rhysand's mom making the dresses for Mor because she loves dressing up and needs the confidence boost. But her family won't let her take them because they're made by a lesser Fae so Rhys tells her he'll keep them for when she comes to live with him
Rhys telling Mor about Velaris on the night they find out she's betrothed. He offers to hide her away.
He's the only one who doesn't shout even when he finds out about Cassian. He's not happy but he'd never turn on her and that's when she feels sure enough, strong enough, to finally leave the Hewn City.
He likes Amren, respects her, but he warns her to be careful with the way she speaks to Mor. There is a line drawn there.
And when the call from Amarantha comes he literally wards Mor and Cassian and Azriel into the city because he promised himself he would protect them.
He also knows, if he dies, his power will go to her; has spent decades slowly preparing for it. But he still finds himself giving in and doing terrible things because he dreams of going home for starfall. He wants to walk in the door and have everything be the way it was.
Like??? There's so much there??? SJM alludes to it but only just. And then has him turn around and betray all of that??
It's so easy to justify Keir's continued existence with him saying that Mor would be next in line to serve as Steward of the CoN and it would mean going back there. But then he brings that man to Velaris?? Because apparently he has no real control over the CoN despite constantly threatening it's citizens.
Also the magical eugenics programme mating bond sucks because then he meets some random person and they're suddenly more important than the family he's been with for 500 years??
[Not to be that person but (maybe it's because I'm ace??) that sort of bond never feels romantic to me? It feels like the self insert of the author and the reader is just deeply insecure and has no deep connections to other people. Or that least very weirdly skews importance to romantic relationships over every other kind.]

Hello Smooches !!
I've been in Signora loving mood lately and realized she (and tbh most of harbingers) are a perfect material for slow burn and wasn't the same ever since
At first, she might even find reader annoying and not worthy of her time. Reader will have to put extra effort to get Signora to talk to them. Once you're able to get through her icy walls, Rosalyne very slowly, but surely warms up toward you
It's a long process, of course, but you learn more and more things about her. At first they're more average - she's from Mondstadt, studied in Sumeru, etc etc. But as you grow closer she tells you about her past lover and his tragic demise. Consider yourself very lucky, bc it's a sign that Signora trusts you deeply
When Rosalyne starts to catch feelings for you, she's feeling all sorts of things, but mostly guilt and fear. Guilt before Rostam and fear that you'll end up like him. Being a lover of someone from fatui is no joke, what if someone targets you to hurt her? What if she loses control of her flames and hurts you in process? Signora decides to put away these feelings and pretend everything is fine.
Reader takes the matter in their hands and confesses to Rosalyne themself. It's one of the few moments you can see Rosalyne truly vulnerable, as she, while happy you're feeling the same, warns that it's very very dangerous to have relationship with her... Reader knew that already, they know the risks and are ready to take them
-🥀
THIS??? MADE ME EMOTIONAL FOR NO REASON?? GOD I MISS SIGNORA SO MUCH. The slow burn is REAL. Ugh she has so many walls up at all times so it's really hard to even get through ONE. Even if you manage to crack it, she'll just seal it right back up if you're not smart about it. At first, she's no-nonsense, strict, maybe a little sarcastic at your futile attempts to even make small talk with her. She really has no interest in making acquaintances, much less friends, and even less, love. So it's going to be a long journey - just make sure you're prepared and willing to go through with it... there's no backing out at a certain point. Mainly when she starts to share little bits of information here and there, make sure you remember it and also try to piece it together because it's hard for her to remember and talk about her past plainly. And she will be very pleased when you remember things about her. Not to mention she'll do the same for you - remember the things you share about yourself as well.
Signora starts to take you on all of her missions. To Mondstadt. To Liyue. Back to Snezhnaya. And everyone notices. Including herself. And yet she tries to deny it. It's purely because you are a reliable person. Hardworking, careful. It has nothing to do with how she feels her frozen heart beat once more when she looks at you or how she finds the little random things you do when you think no one's looking adorable. Or how she feels irritation bubble up in her when other people try to talk or Archons forbid hit on you. But she knows she simply can't. She simply cannot go through what she did with Rostam again. She fears what will happen to her and you if it did.
Just go and confess first ;( Just be real and genuine, and even Rosalyne won't be able to reject you despite her initial intentions and guardedness. She loves you so so much, but she still cannot help but fear for your safety. Though, if you're truly ready and willing to take the risk to love her, she promises to protect you with everything she has as long as you stay by her side.

What do you think Ben and Holly’s dynamic and personalities look like?
My opinion:
Ben is usually calm, laid-back and chill and often the only brain cell left in dangerous situations. He is a good observer (in the woodpecker episode when he taught the chicks to fly by mimicking the flying poses despite not knowing how to do it himself), pretty handy and good at fixing things (like all the elves do) and a bit ambitious and a good animal tamer (I’m not sure is it the right term to use, but the successfully ride Speedy the Snail (one of the hardest to be tamed.) and forgives quickly (the elf games). But he can be a teaser (in the elf joke episode, with no ill intent), lose his temper quickly and occasionally dismiss fairies' abilities (such as magic and flying, but he learned from it and never did it as often). And talking about the “Ben’s birthday party” episode, he just asked Holly about his birthday card and either she remembered his birthday (I know the writers used that for plot purposes (reminding Holly to make Ben’s birthday card to get the episode going) but I feel that’s a bit insensitive from Ben’s side, so I would make it his flaw. And he's a bit of a power illusionist (in Superheroes when he cosplayed into Elfman, but his friends just called him Elfboy which is very humourous though)
Holly is outgoing, girly and sometimes pretty aloof. She has a kind personality and is naturally curious about everything (especially elf culture, like she always asks Ben what he’s learning at school or go to his school to experience herself). If she loved someone (familiarly, platonically or possibly romantically), she would be attached to them very much (eg: Nanny Plum, King Thistle, Ben, etc). And in my opinion, she’s one of the smartest fairies in the series (she nearly guessed Barnaby’s fairy disguise (she asked him “Have we ever met you before?” - simple to us the audience but considering how dumb the fairies are, this deserve applause). She compliments other people a lot (especially Ben). However, she is often overconfident of her own abilities (eg: her magical skills and the possibility of it going wrong), sometimes looking down on elven customs (but like Ben she fixed that quickly and may be one of the few fairies in BAHLK treat elves with respect (the other are the fairy kids and Mrs Fig)). She can be cruel with her magic when she’s angry (the elf joke day episode), and has a really scary death glare (the wand factory to Strawberry and to the Wise Wand 3000 in the new wand episodes).
I think both of them are optimistic, love adventure and cared deeply and concern for each other when one of them is in trouble, and treat each other as equals despite of class and race divisions (also deserve another applause)
Regarding to romantic shipping (when they are teens/ adults), they would fit into the “Childhood friends to lovers”, “Interspecies romance” and “Forbidden love” tropes ( considering the class and race difference, segregation and we never see a hybrid or a proper elf and fairy romance in the series )
=> Dynamic: (In the series) Very platonic and sibling-like (Ben and Holly treat each other like siblings that they never had since Ben is an only child and Daisy and Poppy are fucking hell spawns)

Are the Doppels a rival gang or bounty hunters coming after the guys?
i have to admit firstly that im not a huge doppels head. I am of course psychosexually obsessed with Gwen, she occupies my every thought, i literally carry her picture in my phone case but as far as the others... i tend not to give them too much thought.
that being said!
(note: as i was writing this I realized i was calling him Davy because shortening raggedy andy to just andy is too confusing but then i was like well what would they shorten it to? and I think they would call him Dee <3)
I think Dee makes the most sense with this right? they could send other version of his model after him which would be sick and twisted. I really like the idea of them trying to appeal to him by being like, they can never understand you like we do, they're flesh, they're weak. you're just like us, come back with us." and Dee being like "oh? that's interesting." and the guys having to be like, that is the most textbook sinister and evil thing to say, do not listen to them. and Dee being like "okay got it" *thumbs up* <- they just taught him to do this
As far of the rest of them... its interesting I do like the idea of BLI developing evil version of people but its sort of important to me that the guys are not particularly important until Dee comes about, its very much like the fab four and the girl, where they want her and the guys get in the way. So I think that this is a thing that can happen but happens later. My problem is I can't really think of how they would end up being reflective of the boy's respective personalities, Babyface makes sense, he's sort of just evil Micky but Why would they make evil Mike a girl and a princess. That would be really funny.
I've thought a little more about it. I think it sort of plays into their fear and insecurities.
Shorty is worried about being mean and a tyrannical leader of their ragtag gang. I think for a long time he insists that he be in charge, despite it very obviously coming to Carlisle a lot more naturally and make them do his plans which very frequently end up in messes. He also freaks out and can't make decisions in tough spots, so Carlisle will take over when he shuts down. Eventually there is an unofficial transfer of power where Carlisle ends up calling the shots and Shorty realizes this is a lot less stressful. Anyway! He is really insecure about this. So. Babyface being the leader of the doppelgang and being this harsh commander really gets to him.
Princess Gwen -> Girl. Carlisle Wheeling -> whatttt could this POSSIBLY mean? for him? insecure? noooooo. surely not. (i don't have time to get into this. i have too much to say).
Alexei? God. I need to re-watch the card carrying red shoes. I mean I know he's like, just sort of the button joke at the end, and I don't really know what his like fanon personality is. He's uptight and serious though, everything Love is not, and I think he's kind of a coldblooded killer. I think Love is like, it doesn't bother me. I don't care. He isn't me, I'm not him, they built him to upset me. And then, he sees that Alexei is deeply important to the team, and productive, and USEFUL. and he is so insecure about being this extraneous hanger who can't help because he won't fire a blaster and this is what bothers him (this of course was BLI's ploy the whole time)

Dungeons & Drabbles 2023
Day 7 - Disappear
(Warning in advance that this one gets kinda angsty~)
-----------------------
FCG Centric Angst + FCG & Ashton
What… What had happened?
One moment, Fresh Cut Grass had been beside their friends, fighting Ludinus and kicking his sorry ass! The next, there had been a flash, a pain that felt beyond the realms of all comprehension, and then… then silence. Darkness.
And now this.
There was a blurry sight before him. His friends? Yeah! His friends! And they were seemingly rejoicing? Had they won? Was this all finally over?
Fresh Cut Grass couldn't help but give a hollar of joy, wheeling over to join the rest of the Hells. They were battered, bleeding and bruised, but the smiles they held were unmistakable. There was a joy there that couldn't be touched, a laughter that rang joyously through the smoldering battlefield.
“We did it! I can't believe we actually fuckin’ DID IT!” Ashton damn near shouted, pumping a fist into the air as Fearne threw her arms around him as she dissolved into relieved, almost euphoric laughter.
“And we all made it through!”
“Not a heartbeat lost!” Imogen added, playfully ribbing Laudna in the side, who simply beamed down at her girlfriend, pulling her in for a breathtaking kiss.
“We were impeccably lucky, my dear~ Imagine if that blast had hit anyone else but them?”
Fresh Cut Grass paused in their excited rocking at that comment, a dash of hurt smacking them over the head, in what had otherwise been a sea of celebration.
“That blast still hurt real bad!” They interjected, huffing just a tad. And yet… there was no response. Heck, no one even so much as looked his way! Why… why were they ignoring him? Had he done something wrong?
“That would have been a grim tragedy,” Orym said, with a deeply heavy sigh. “I don't know if I could have taken another loved one dying…”
“Buck up, soldier boy!” Chetney barked out with a grin, his words punctuated by a playful smack upside Orym’s head. “We only lost the pile of scrap metal. Nothing important. That was some bitchin’ luck we had going for us! Figured all our asses would be ash by now!”
What… What were they saying?
This had to be some kind of cruel joke, right? Yeah! That’s right! This was a joke! It wasn't a funny one by any stretch of the imagination, and Fresh Cut Grass hadn't felt so- so hurt like this since… Dancer. B-But hey! Maybe it was the stress of the fight messing with their judgment and humor? Wasn't dark humor a typical coping strategy for heart beat folk?
“Al- Alright, you guys have had your fun! This joke ain’t funny though. That blast really did hurt and so did your words!”
“Fuuuck…” Ashton muttered, a look of realization flashing before their eyes. At that, Fresh Cut Grass felt their core calm down, only realizing now just what an awful buzzing mess it had been. This whole things must have really been stressin’ them out!
“I just realized… I’ll never have to hear them harpin’ on about that fuckin’ Changebringer and her bitch ass brigade of gods ever again! Thank FUCK!"
Ice.
Everything suddenly felt as cold as ice.
They… They hadn't even known they could feel cold until right this very second.
“Ughhhh! That was always so annoying!” Fearne whined, her eyes rolling dramatically as she dropped a hand upon her popped hip. “I was always real tempted to melt his yappy little head, along with that stupid coin of his!”
“I really should have finished the job when they first snapped and tried to murder us all…”
“I should have let ya, Laud. Sorry I stopped you…”
“It’s alright, Imogen~ What’s done is done, hm~? And he’s rather dead now, so what does it matter?”
“At least that pompous fuck was good for something!”
“Despite all the deaths and suffering he caused… I have to agree,” Orym responded, sheathing his blood slicked sword. “Of all the lives he snuffed out… I’m glad that Fresh Cut Grass was one of them. He died with at least one good deed to his soul.”
Was it possible for aeormatons to feel sick?
It absolutely shouldn't have been, and yet… yet sick was what they felt. A deep, twisting nausea they’d only ever heard about swirled through them, leaving their hands quivering and something… thick and slick trailing down his face plate.
Tears?
No, they couldn't be tears. He couldn't cry.
… Right?
There was nothing to be made sense of right now though.
Not as their friends laughed, so bright and free in their cruelty, in their relief at his…
His death.
Was he really dead?
A flick of a hand, so unsure and unsteady, sliding right through Ashton’s rumbling chest, was all the confirmation they needed.
Dead.
They were dead.
They were dead and everyone was glad.
And here he was, left to watch his friends gleefully express their joy, to state just how happy they were that they’d never once have to see him again.
And all FCG could do was watch.
Was… Was this what true despair tasted like?
The bitterness sunk deep into their soul, seeping into the cracks as it ever so slowly shattered.
Deeper and deeper, into the darkness they sank, wishing for nothing more than for themself to vanish, to disappear permanently.
Then, a hand, firm and heavy.
Shaking.
A shout, desperate and concerned,
Light.
Ashton's deeply worried face crept into focus, their hand gripped tight upon his shoulder from where he’d been shaking them.
“Thank fuck…” he whispered, a heavy breath falling from their lips as Ashton pulled Fresh Cut Grass in for a rare and wonderfully crushing hug. “You started whimpering and wincing in your sleep, then there was oil leakin’ from your lenses and you started crying out and… and you wouldn't wake up, Letters. Scared the shit outta me.”
“A-Ashton?” Fresh Cut Grass croaked on out, their whole chassis quivering every bit as much as it had been… before. What had just happened? Wasn't he dead? Why could he touch Ashton now and why did they seem so worried about them?
“I’m here, Grass. I’m here…”
“I- I don't… I don't un- understand…”
“Pretty sure you were havin’ a nightmare, buddy. A real shit one, from how you were reacting. I don't know what you saw in there, but whatever it was, it was bullshit, okay?”
Was it though? It… It had all felt so real.
“You don't… don't…” Fresh Cut Grass tried to get out, failing over and over as sobs wracked through them, staining Ashton’s chest with their dark, oily tears. “You don't hate me, r-right? Don't wa- want me dead, d-do ya?”
Ashton’s arms tightened around them, so firm and heavy that Fresh Cut Grass couldn't help but sink into the embrace.
It felt so… safe. Welcoming.
Like he was home.
“Never. You could stab me in the fuckin’ head and I still wouldn't hate you. You could cut my whole damn arm off and you’d still be stuck with me! Not that you ever would on purpose,” Ashton quickly assured them, not wanting to send their very best friend spiraling. Especially right now. They seemed so frightened, so genuinely hurt and distraught.
It was fucking heartbreaking.
“You’re crew, Letters. You know what that means? It means that I’ll fuckin’ OBLITERATE this shitty ass world before I’ll ever let it harm ya, you hear me? The only reason I’d ever want ya dead is if this world gets too fucked up to live on, and that's only cause it’d be crueler to let anyone live then. You… You’re important, Fresh Cut Grass. You're important to me.”
Metallic arms threw themselves around Ashton, clinging to him for dear life as Fresh Cut Grass’ sobs grew louder, shaking violently in safety of the earth Genasi’s embrace,
“... Fuck it. I hope you’re listening, cause I’m only saying this shit once, okay?” Ashton muttered against the cerulean blue wires that mimicked hair on their robotic friend. “... I love you. A fuck ton. I dunno what dream me said, but whatever that fucker spat out, I’m sorry as hell for it. I’d punch that assfuck if I could, you know I would! I… I just hope you can believe the shit I’m sayin’ now.”
For a good few minutes, that confession hung in the air, only sobs and cries filling the cool night air of their inn room. Yet as the time passed, so too did that nightmare, it’s ghoulish whisperings melting away into the candlelit room, leaving only the sounds of their core whirling and Ashton’s steady breaths above him.
“... I- I love you too, Ashton…” Fresh Cut Grass hoarsely whispered, as the final oily tear fell from their face plate, dripping to the now stained floor below. “I- Thank ya… Thank ya so dang much…”
“Don't mention it, Grass. Shit’s what you do for your crew.”
A flash of a grin, warm and wide and so familiarly rough.
It warmed him, right down to their soul.
And as Ashton ushered them over to the side of his bed, making sure they were right by their side as he laid down to sleep once more, their hands gripped tightly together, even as they slipped back into slumber's sweet embrace…
Fresh Cut Grass thought that, perhaps, love really was something they truly understood.

We... We Got Married Part Three
A/N: By popular demand, here is part 3. Let me know if you want part 4
Part 1 Part 2 Part 4
Pairing(s): Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell x younger! female! Reader, Hangman x Rooster
Tumblr media
You were on a separate mission, away from your husband and friends. Everything was going fine, you had to go in and get out without getting caught. However, there was security that the government was not made aware of. It was similar to the uranium mission except you were by yourself. You managed to blow up the target but on the way back you were surrounded, “This is Sparky, I’ve got four on my tail!” you yelled and glanced at the photo of your husband you kept in your jet. “I’m sorry” you whispered to him, you were supposed to go on a date to a really fancy restaurant when you got home, you had a beautiful pantsuit to go out in but you now probably wouldn’t be able to wear it. “I can’t shake them!” You said, managing to take out three of them before you were out of ammo and missiles “I’m out!” you yelled.
You got shot down behind enemy lines, in the middle of no where because that was where the target was, just some threat to NATO. You had managed to eject but got pretty hurt on the way down. You knew that no one would be coming to rescue you and you were going to be labeled as MIA, your heart ached knowing Pete was going to be devastated because it was similar to how his father went.
You pushed yourself despite the broken leg you had, you know you probably had a broken rib also and you were covered in bruises and cuts from your fall, one was very deep and you were going to bleed out within a few days. You ripped up some of your flight suit, and made a bandage to help slow the bleeding. A day later you managed to break into the facility to steal a F-18 from the enemy, you turned on your signal and just barely made it to the nearest carrier with the aid of another naval aviator on your wing.
Once you got out of the jet, you collapsed onto the ground and passed out, your makeshift bandaged coming off and leaving you bleeding on the ground.
A week later, you were finally waking up and groaned at the bright white room you were in. You couldn’t remember having gotten to the aircraft carrier so you began to rip off wires and tubes, needing to get to safety. “Lt. Mitchell! Calm down!” A nurse said, running in “You’re safe Lt. Mitchell!” she said, trying to get you to lay down. Your husband ran in and as soon as you saw Pete, you relaxed and stopped fighting. “Pete?” you whispered and held your arms out, you cried into his shoulder when he came to hug you. “I never thought I would see you again, I love you so much” you told him, pulling back to kiss him deeply. He cupped your cheek and held you for a few minutes before letting go so you could get hooked back up to the monitors.
A few days later, Pete was wheeling you out of the hospital, holding your crutches for you. He helped you into the truck and put your crutches into the backseat. When you got home, you made your way up to the front door with your crutches, when you opened the door, you jumped as people came out an yelled “Surprise! Welcome home!” they shouted. You flushed and smiled at everyone “Thank you guys” you smiled.
You spent a little while with all your friends before Maverick sent them all home. He helped you shower and when he went to help you into your room, you shook your head “Can I sleep with you?” You asked nervously. He smiled and nodded, helping you to his room and grabbed one of his shirts and boxers for you to change into.
You were both snuggled in his bed as you put an ear to his chest “I was terrified. Terrified I would never see you again, I lost my favorite photo of you in that crash” you said, listening to his heartbeat. “I would ask you to marry me after that but we already are married” you joked, your eyes growing heavy as Pete held you against him. “I nearly shut down when they told me you were MIA” he told you, running his hand through your hair, “You have become my life Sparky” he said, kissing the top of your head. You could feel his tears in your hair and you both held each other as you cried, finally letting out the feelings you had kept hidden.
The next few weeks, Pete helped take care of you and you were both falling in love with each other even more. He was good with helping you in and out of the shower, taking you out on simple dates that wouldn’t jostle you too much. He was absolutely perfect with you. Your favorite time was you both laying on the couch, your head on his chest as you both watched movies.

so i wanna talk about my hcs/interpretations of otto's relationships to the rest of the psychic 7 because im very sane and normal. putting it under the cut cause theres quite a lot of text:
ford - the og boys. they're made for each other in that they're both fucking insane. i hate these freaks /pos. i like the idea of them having met in college. maybe they dated, maybe they didnt. i like both options. ford has 2 hands. i think after lucrecia joined the psychic 7, they startrd drifting apart which only intensified as more people joined and ford was the leader so everyone wanted to hang out with him, leading to him having less and less time for the og :( but i think that even when they dont talk much, they still have that innate comfortableness when being around each other. like. even just doing regular stuff together feels easy & effortless? but also i think they reconnect post-game!!! hooray for friendship!!!
lucrecia - my personal hc is that they met on an exchange trip in high school bc i dont think otto's grulovian, but i honestly also rly like the idea of them being childhood friends. goated hc. but anyway yeah they're also besties sobs…. on the surface, lucrecia is the calm yhat balances out otto's…. ottoness, but once you get to know her better, shes also insane. idk i dont rly have a lot of thoughts to put into words with these 2 but theyre BESTIES!!!!
cassie - they butt heads obviously, but theyre close methinks. i hc that cassie was the first to join the psy7 after the initial trio, so with ford and lucy too busy canoodling, i think they ended up hanging out a lot. i think cassie is good at pulling otto back down to earth when he gets too lost in the sauce and starts overcomplicating things compton - i think compton is truly the one person in the psychic 7 who being with is actually. quiet. calm. whatever. for otto. cause with everyone else its always high energy - even cassie, whos usually the calm, down to earth one of the group who grounds a dynamic, her personality happens to clash with otto's so they bicker a lot. but compton's gentle nature is a good match for those times where the Introversion hits otto. i think parallel play is their primary form of hanging out. also i think they both struggle with sleeping (otto cause adhd and compton cause anxiety) and it's just like an unspoken agreement between them that when one of them cant sleep they can always come talk. ALSO. i hc that compton also has somewhat of a knack for science (he helped build the gpc and astralathe 100%) so theyre scientist with the mind of an artist x artist with the mind of a scientist. amen. i love electric sheep
bob - my hc for them is pretty much the same as the commonly accepted fan interpretation. 10/10, no notes. theyre stoner buddies and i think they may have kissed a little. and maybe even…. no, i shant say. i listen to for forever from dear evan hansen and goodbye ms flower thief while thinking about them and just sit there feeling utterly despondent
helmut - NOW THIS. NOW THIS IS A DYNAMIC I THINK IS UNDERRATED. theyre so. UEEEEGHHHH. i think they're the type of silly goofy friends who joke around all the time. things that wouldn't normally be funny seem hilarious when they're together. SO MANY INSIDE JOKES. just a good time all around. i think helmuts also the first one to notice otto's Mental Problems post pn2. they're just uuueeghhh. its so so important to me how artistically oriented otto is despite being a scientist and helmut is an artist as well!!! so!!!! they're both so deeply creative and thats just everything. to me.
also honourable mention to the otto/helmut/bob trio bc i dont have anything to say about it that i haven't already said for otto/bob and otto/helmut but like i fucking love them as a trio. they're all so like. sensitive to the world. and creative. YEAH. good fucking trio i love this trio
