Um. Hello. This may be weird of me to ask but um do you perhaps have some steve/loki fics to rec 👉👈

yeah... yeah i can do that

Well, I'll start you off with the 125,000+ word ongoing (like literally updated last week ongoing) series Favors Unsought (Explicit.) It starts off with Loki basically haunting Avengers tower while the Avengers are all "where the fuck is Loki!?" and also Steve has a crush on Loki. It's plot heavy, has a lot of theorizing about Odin and I can't say I'm on board will all the points made, but overall the story is really interesting. Also I never considered the ship of Tony and JARVIS but this fic very much has me sold on it.

Then we've got <2000 word one-shot Pining and Cones (Mature) which is of the "Loki is just part of the Avengers now for some reason" genre. Loki asks Steve out for ice cream and he has a big dumb crush and UST.

And for a "Loki is part of the Avengers now and it's explained in like a single sentence" fic, we've got We Were Never Boy Scouts (Mature) with 5000+ words, Loki and Steve are on a mission during the slow part where they're just walking and talking. Eventually they take shelter in a little shack with only one bed.

We've got Whats Trust Between Lovers (Teen) at 2000+ words. Another "Loki is part of the Avengers now and it's explained in like a single sentence" fic, the Avengers are some nosy motherfuckers and all rush to the security monitor room once it's clear Steve is heading to Loki's room to have an argument with him about his actions during the previous mission.

Then we've got the Remember This Cold (Explicit) series, it's- jesus fuck- it's 850,000+ words. I've only read up to part 15 of 77, so I can't speak for the whole work, but those first 15 parts are solid. It starts with an excellent slowburn (the first three fics don't even have relationship tags and the 4th fic is Steve denying to himself that he might have feelings for Loki despite some compelling evidence.) Loki keeps showing up to talk to Steve, and Steve is letting it happen. Just make sure to read the tags of each fic bc there's a vivisection fic in there somewhere and if that's not your thing you can absolutely skip it.

Who Would You Rather Be Stuck in an Elevator With, the Hulk or Loki? (Teen) at 3,000+ words is pretty obviously a stuck in an confined space fic. Conversations are had. I won't spoil the ending but I fucking love love love the reveal and I wish there was a whole genre of Avengers fics using the premise presented in the reveal.

The Muse Of Battle (Explicit) (22,000+ words) is fucking great. I do appreciate that the author saw Loki die in Infinity War and said "No, fuck that, he's fine." So Loki shows up during the battle in Wakanda and uses the Casket of Ancient Winters to great effect, but which also reveals his Frost Giant form, which Steve sees and is absolutely awestruck by. Loki of course has image issues regarding his true form.

The Two Captains (General Audiences) (7000+ words) is a fun little concept where Loki is sent to Midgard during WWII to get the tesseract out of the nazis' hands, and he does this by going undercover as a normal human of Captain rank in the Howling Commandoes. Cue some unrequited slowburn because Steve still ends up in the fucking ice. There's not a happy ending to this fic, but it's also part of a larger series I'm not recommending because I personally didn't like the direction it went (it was canon-divergent when i would have liked to have seen where it would have gone while mostly following canon,) but I think a LOT about what this set-up could have been and i keep coming back to this fic.

[This fic did cause me to think up the idea of Steve waking from the ice, google searching (he's competent enough to google) his old howling commando buddy, and then inadvertently watching a buzzfeed unsolved parody (he's not competent enough to discriminate his internet sources yet) about the howling commando who didn't exist on any record except within the military as a Howling Commando, and then mysteriously disappeared after the death of Captain America. And the episode proposed theories range from "he's a spy" to "he's an alien" to "he's just some guy whose records got lost during a world fucking war." And then a week later Nick Fury shows up asking Steve to help save the world from the alien that just showed up that Colson immediately recognized as the missing Howling Commando of dubious identity]

And, finally, for something that's just straight p*** (whereas the other explicit fics i've listed have been plot first) the two part Not Entirely Accidental series! (Explicit, obviously) (7,000+ words). I'm not explaining this one.

Also, now that i just spent like 3+ hours writing fic recs, could I possibly interest you in the concept of the ship of Loki and Matt Murdock? In fucking typical fashion i am once again obsessing over a joke ship. Not really any fics i can recommend out of the 11 with that tag, BUT I feel like it's similar to Loki and Captain America except Matt Murdock has the ability to tell whenever someone is lying. I wanna see the liesmith and the lie-detector kiss please and thank you! And in the comics they fucking literally made a character with a lie detecting ability just to be Loki's friend, they shoulda just used Daredevil! I can't even find a moment in the comics where they interact, I'm so disappointed.

you're one of the few i follow who talks about bucky and so here i am once again in your inbox because the whole way the MCU has approached bucky is just not it. you know? they wrote themselves in a hole. they don't know how to respond exactly with his popularity as a character and no homo'd his most important relationship so hard they're two dudes chilling in two different timelines because it's not gay. the whole 'made amends' thing is just wrong and terrible. bucky didn't do anything wrong! hydra did. hydra used him and yet the narrative has placed it on his shoulders. i enjoyed tfatws but i think there were quite a few odd character writing choices.

oh 100% bucky has been mishandled by marvel, i wanna say since the very end of cacw. catfa bucky was splendid and amazingly written, super in character, like That's My Bucky.

catws bucky was obviously brainwashed but (even tho the russos had their grimy little hands on this one) again, amazingly written and handled esp thanks to seb.

it starts to go a little awry at the end of cacw. it was fine when bucky said "i dont know if im worth all this steve" nd steve replies "what you did all those years, it wasnt you. you didnt have a choice" bc this. THIS was the perfect way to be handling buckys trauma. and steve was the ONLY person who could do that. im sorry, but not even sam, whos a licenced councellor, could do that for bucky. the first red flag was before bucky went into cryo and NONE of his fears/feelings were dealt w beforehand. he just goes "i cant trust my own mind" and yoink into the freezer he goes! cacw wasnt terrible w handling bucky, but it did waste a lot of potential with discussing and exploring his character and what he went through. probably bc wuhhh a man cant have FEELINGS and GOD FORBID he show and express them in a HEALTHY WAY in a superhero movie !! (that should have been averngers: civil war, bdw. marvel u actually owe us ca:serpent society)

black panther end credits. what the fuck. is all im gonna say. russos overdosed on how can we make this guys "road to recovery" LOOK like its going like pure shit but not explain why, how, when, who and where.

infinity was a sorta a fucking joke iwel. there were some good parts like the steve and bucky reunion eg. "not bad, for the end of the world" (gives me catfa vibes 😭) and "steve?" being the last words bucky said before being dusted, ik bucky wasnt supposed 2 be the focus in this movie but the fact that they made him fight again after he was supposedly "cured" (see: "semi-stable 100 year old man") was cruel and lacked the exploration it needed to justify it.

endgame is self explanatory. shit movie all-round, pain for everybody in the audience!! it was more of a mishandling of steve rather than bucky, but if we're talking abt bucky specifically, he was more neglected than mishandled. not being bothered to do his metal arm? not showing us the convo he supposedly had with steve before he left? not showing us his reaction to steves joe biden cosplay? horrible. terrible, couldn't have gone worse. once again, seb did ALL the heavy lifting. he is 99% of buckys character.

all of this doesn't even take into account steve and buckys relationship. they are the absolute focal points of each other’s characters, and it was all not just swept under the rug, but the floor was then set on fire, the room burnt to a crisp, the house demolished and then launched into oblivion.

and now to adress what u actually asked, tfatws. i also enjoyed it, but that doesnt mean i think PERSONALLY that it was well written (and thats okay). i do understand it was supposed to deal w sam more than bucky, which it did, but if im being brutally honest, tfatws bucky didnt.... feel like bucky..... which isnt to say seb didnt do a good job, bc he carried what was left of buckys character from the writing, but it was like watching the wrong shoe being put on the correct foot, if that makes sense. bucky was treated like the bad guy, stoic and pissy. "guy with a staring problem", comic fucking relief. govt mandated therapy, constant dismissal, and being thrown back into a fights without it being acknowledged why first. i have no issue w characters who want to keep fighting regardless of trauma (see: john watson) but they NEED the verbal acknowledgement AND the right support system for that plot to be acceptable and sustainable. tfatws did none of that. they reduced bucky to Cap's sidekick again (even tho he wasnt steves sidekick, it feels like he is sams imo pls dont kill me 😭). none of what should have been dealt with was dealt with, because marvel tried to solve literally global, macro-scale problems without even acknowledging the ones at home.

as sweet and technically good the ending of tfatws was, it was badly writtten, at least for bucky. marvel will never climb out of the hole, to use your words, they wrote themselves into, because of 1) the thanos storyline, snap and blip (what the fuck marvel, genuinely) 2) timeline bullshit and 3) steve leaving.

its almost like his actual character development was put on hold for tfatws. it'll be forever up in the air, with no real closure, unless everything and more that i talked about is mentioned. he'll never have the ending he actually deserves.

please do remember, characters are supposed to have arcs, not 90 degree descents into the fucking ground.

Movies and TV shows of 2019

Okay so a couple or few years ago I did a review of movies that had released that year because I was super into movies that year. I am still into movies, but I have been watching a lot more shows this year. So, I will be reviewing movies and tv shows. Furthermore, I will be including stuff released this year, that I found this year, or that has a new season this year. Basically just anything that I have loved this year. Also, I don’t feel like ranking, so no particular order. Also, SPOILERS AHEAD - if you see a title of something you have not seen, and don’t want spoilers, please feel free to skip that section. Also, some of these I haven’t seen in a hot minute so if I get a detail messed up, we won’t speak on it. And finally, trigger warning - if you have struggled with sexual assault and may have an issue reading about it, either skip this post entirely or skip over the review of “Unbelievable.”

MOVIES -

1. After

I have been waiting for this since middle school. I read the after books on wattpad because what teenager in love with harry styles didn’t. Now I will be real with y'all. The acting could use some work in specific scenes, and some of the actors aren't MY favorite picks for certain roles, but I’m not gonna hate on actors. Ok so, Tessa (Josephine Langford) is an incoming freshman in college and is rooming with an upperclassmen, Steph (Khadijha Red Thunder) who has a friend named Hardin (Hero Fiennes-Tiffin). Steph wants Tessa to branch out and do new things, so she invites her to a party, where they play the stereotypical games, and thats when Hardin is kind of dared to make Tessa fall in love with him. ALSO, Tessa has a high school boyfriend named Noah (Dylan Arnold). She starts seeing Hardin, her boyfriend finds out, she falls in love with Hardin, and finds out it was all a dare. Buuuuuuut, pLoT tWiSt he actually loves her.

2. Avengers: Endgame

Ok listen, Infinity War was heartbreaking bc Bucky duh, but y'all are really gonna take Tony (RDJ) and Steve (Chris Evans) away from me? Shut up. Still, this was a really good movie and I’m not just saying that because I’m a marvel hoe. FRICK Thanos and thats on Ant Man. Thats literally all I have to say.

3. Annabelle Comes Home

I am a whore for scary movies. I love them so much and this one was *chefs kiss*. I love Mckenna Grace, she's such a good young actress and she fits so well in scary moves. There’s not much to say about the plot in this one, and ya really need to see it. Also, Bob (Michael Cimino) is so heckin cute what the heck.

4. Let It Snow

Ok this is a lot to unpack so grab ya snacks. Let’s talk about couple number 1 (of 3), Tobin (Mitchell Hope) and Angie (Kiernan Shipka) who are best friends. Tobin is in love with Angie but doesn’t know how to tell her, and gets lots of unwanted encouragement from his best friend Keon (Jacob Batalon) who just wants to throw a heckin good party, is that too much to ask for? So Angie gets invited to a party by some cute guy, JP (M and Tobin is jealous but goes with her anyways and they steal a keg for Keon’s party and run from the scary hosts of the party and end up stranded in a church after his car spins out of control. They finally make it to the party and kiss on the roof with the waffle town sign shining bright behind them. NEXT - we have Julie (Isabela Merced) and Stuart (Shameik Moore). This is kind of really cliche with the whole “he’s-famous-she-doesn’t-care-he-finds-that-attractive-lets-fall-in-love” aspect, but its also hella cute uwu. They meet on a train and the train stops so they go eat at the waffle town and go sledding and do a bunch of cute coupley shit. His manager comes to get him and basically tells her that nothing will ever really happen between them and he leaves. Then, he shows up at the party and they fall in love. NEXT- we have Dorrie (Liv Hewson) who is a lesbian that constantly struggles with the gay panic. Her best friend Addie (Odeya Rush) doesn't help much either because she's having her own relationship problems. Dorrie works at Waffle Town and when she's working the girl she's talking to, Kerry (Anna Akana) comes in with her dance team, and she's not out of the closet. A bunch of shit goes down, but they end up together and Dorrie learns that she’s worth more than she thinks and that’s all that matters. Also, Billy (Miles Robbins) and Tin Foil Woman (Joan Cusack) make wonderful additions to this movie.

5. The King

First of all - Timothée Chalamet and Robert Pattinson in the same movie? Sign me the HECK up. But they’re also historical, frick yea. Not too much to say about this movie other than it’s good. Super graphic (don’t watch if you don’t like decapitation lol) and super long, but good nonetheless.

6. Falling Inn Love

This movie is super freaking cute. Gabriela (Christina Milian) decides that she needs a change and enters a contest to win an Inn in New Zealand. She wins the Inn and is shocked when she realizes the Inn needs a LOT of work. She goes around town to get stuff to fix up the Inn and constantly runs into Jake (Adam Demos) and they have this flirty but we don’t like each other relationship, but then ya know, they fall in(n) love. 

SHOWS -

1. The Society

I could talk about this show for hours, literally. I love it so much it’s insane. Ok, so lets start from the beginning. A town called West Ham is being plagued by a disgusting smell. Due to this, the town decides to send busloads of teenagers to the mountains while they try and resolve the smell situation. All of the teenagers fall asleep on the bus and wake up to the announcement that they had to go back home due to road blocks. When they get off the buses, its late and no one is there to pick them up. They think that it may just be a sense of miscommunication, so they head home, only to find that none of their families are there, and they can’t get ahold of any of them over the phone. They finally decide to investigate and find that all exits out of town are completely blocked off. They then decide to find a way to survive without their families. This causes a lot of tension within the town including the death of a main character. This shows also includes gay representation!!!! This is my favorite couple, Sam (Sean Birdy) and Grizz (Jack Mulhern). Sam is deaf and gay and his brother, Campbell (Toby Wallace), makes fun of him for both reasons, and when the whole issue with the town happens, he believes he will never find love because he doesn’t think anyone else is gay, until Grizz comes along, and tries to learn ASL and loves him for him.

2. Roswell New Mexico

Alright, to be completely honest, I did not want to watch this. I have no idea why I just didn’t. I saw an edit on like instagram or something of the couples in the show and I was like, alright I can give it a chance. And spoiler alert I loved it. The series starts off with Liz Ortecho (Jeanine Mason) comes back to her hometown of Roswell around the time of her the anniversary of her sister, Rosa’s (Amber Midthunder), death. She gets pulled over on her way in and the officer that pulled her over was Max Evans (Nathan Parsons), who has had a crush on her since they first met, and just so happens to be an alien. After Liz gets shot in her families restaurant, Max uses his healing powers to save her, but leaves behind a hand print on her that makes her suspicious. She continues to investigate until he tells her the truth. She also finds out that her sister was actually murdered, and has the same hand print on her that she did when Max healed her. Turns out, his sister, Isobel (Lily Cowels) killed her, but it was actually another alien possessing her (which they didn’t know was possible when she killed her). When they landed on earth they also landed with their “brother” Michael (Michael Vlamis) who starts off the series with an on and off relationship with Alex (Tyler Blackburn) and I love them together. Alex is the son of one of the guys trying to find and take down the aliens and he also went to war and lost his leg. Anyways, towards the end of the season Alex starts seeing Maria (Heather Hemmens), which is a couple I don’t really like, but also bi representation is good! Anyways I don’t really wanna spoil this one too much I just love it a lot.

3. Elite

This is a show that came out in 2018, but they released a second season this year. All I’m saying is please watch the original version, not the dubbed over version. Elite is a spanish show about a few students that get a scholarship to the private school after their school gets demolished. This shows is in the fashion of present and past which includes a lot of flashbacks leading up to the the murder of one of the students. My favorite part of this show is the relationship between Ander (Arón Piper) and Omar (Omar Ayuso). Ander is the son of the head of the school and Omar is the brother of one of the students that got a scholarship. Not only are they of different socioeconomic status’, but Omar is also Muslim, and his family would not approve of him being gay. He finally finds the courage to tell his family, but thats not until season 2. Also, his sister Nadia (Mina El Hammani) falls in love with the “bad boy” of the school, Guzmán (Miguel Bernardeau) and starts going against her parents wishes as well.

4. The Umbrella Academy 

Y’all mind if I confuse y'all real quick. So, a bunch of women all of the sudden give birth out of nowhere at the same time even tho none of them were pregnant? Yea I know weird. Anyways, so this dude tries to adopt as many of them as possible and ends up adopting like 7. They all have powers and they try and stop the apocalypse. That’s literally all I can tell y'all. 

5. Unbelievable

I swear I didn’t mean to get y’all upset right now. This show made me angry and sad and so many other feelings all at once. So the show beings with a girl named Marie (Kaitlyn Dever) getting raped in her home. When she reports it, they can’t find any evidence, as he cleaned the apartment and made her shower. This mixed with the fact that she struggles remembering parts of her experience (which is common with sexual assault), the police don’t believe her and force her to retract her statement. This in itself is awful, but they also charge her with false statement, which adds on to the fact that people already believe that she is a liar. Years later, two female detectives, Karen and Grace, piece together rapes in their precincts and once they find the rapist, they find Marie’s picture in with his belongings, proving that she was telling the truth the entire time.

6. Sailor Moon

I just got into anime and all I have to say is that I love this. That is all.

Podcast part 2

Read the first part first to understand, but a refresher: Bucky and Natasha start a podcast on murder mysteries (CACW and infinity war never happened)

Natasha asked

Anyone watching would think they were dancing because of their in sinc

So there they were, dogging each other’s blows

Ducking their kicks, trying to pin each other down

It was about 10 minutes in when Natasha manged to pin the soldier

“I win”

Natasha says while hovering over him, almost touching her

“Let’s see”

Round two, the red head wins again

“What happened Barnes? Forgot your morning coffee?”

After one hour of training, the two of them went their separate ways

But Bucky wasn’t going to let that pass

He will manage to pin her down

I mean how hard can it be?

VERY hard.

I mean extremely hard

But he doesn’t know that yet so shhhh

Though he did win a few times

After a long shower he went on with his daily routine, but this time he couldn’t stop thinking of Natasha Romanoff

Fast forward, he meets with her again to help with the script

“What’s the plan agent?”

Except the slightly above average amount of comments of Sam, Steve, Clint and Tony, they were good

It was around 8 pm when someone knocked on his door

“Bucky, we need to talk”

Said Clint before locking the door

Bucky has no idea what happened or what he was going to say

“It’s about Nat. I can tell you like her”

“Is it that obvious?”

“She still hasn’t figured out, but I’m pretty sure the rest of the avengers ship you guy’s”

“Ship? Like a boat?”

After a while, the both of them were talking about Nat, Clint’s early relationship with Laura and some advice

“But if you hurt her; You. Are. Dead.”

Though Clint doesn’t seem like much of a threat, when it came to Nat it his family he would kill him and everyone else in this planet in the blink of an eye

Bucky quietly nodded, knowing that if he did anything to her, he would never forgive himself

Moments later, Clint was back to give him advice on how to ask her out

“Hey buck, dinner’s ready”

Steve said from behind the door

He would be lying if he said that he wasn’t listening to their conversation

Hell, they are SUPER SPYS and can’t hide a conversations

“How long have you been there?”

“Not long...”

He said as the two avengers stare at him

“Long...”

The blond man admitted

“So you and Nat huh?”

After dinner, James told his best friend the whole story, from the red room and hydra to podcasts

Well, most of it

A few details were too intimate, and others were something he wanted to keep to himself

But he didn’t want Steve to feel guilty he couldn’t save him, so he didn’t talk about the pain, the suffering, the flashbacks that crawl at the back of his head

So he ended up just like Clint; he thought it was only an affair, a one time thing, when in reality, he couldn’t be more wrong

“I just hope you’re happy now, with her”

Later that night, the clock read 3:26 am

James couldn’t sleep, as usual

His PTSD was unbearable, and he had to get some fresh air

As he walked out of the compound and into the small garden Wanda instead they should have, feeling the fresh air, he noticed someone was following him

Stopping midway to see who

“Natalia? What are you doing here”

“Natasha, please. Same thing as you I guess”

The widow said

“You know, I’m having these flashbacks, of hydra, the red room... and you”

You could see the pain in his eyes, the fear, but also the slight happiness, of knowing that someone he loved was there with him

But again, in past tense

“You know, I like you too”

Confessed Natalia, or Natasha

“What?”

“Steve is a horrible liar”

“Punk”

Bucky muttered under his breath

He stepped closer to her, and cupped her cheeks with his flesh hand and wrapped her waist with his metal one

“You know Natalia, I missed you. I missed holding you.”

“I missed you too”

And then she kissed him

Though they haven’t kissed in years, it felt natural, but very passionate

Hungrily kissing each other, their tongues exploring each other, and they dove deep in to the kiss

Pulling apart for a moment to catch some air

“I also missed kissing you”

After a hot making out session, they decided to head back inside, and maybe watch a movie

As they sat down on the couch, Nat asked:

“What do you want to watch, James”

Making sure to say James in a casual way, but enough to turn him on

“I don’t know, Natalia. Come here, I have a blanket”

As she crawled over to cuddle, she was surprised as he grabbed her shoulders and pined her down still on the sofa, and started to kiss her

But after a while they decided to watch the movie

The 2 hour 3 minute helped them finally get some sleep

The downside was that Steve and Sam always had a early morning run at around 6 am everyday

So if they didn’t want to get caught, they had to leave early

**2 months later**

That routine continued for a while

Their secret dating went well, nobody knew

Let’s just say that they did more than just kiss now...

Anyways, their relationship was going well, until one day Bucky is seriously hurt in a mission

He had to stay away for a week, so sleeping goes back to being hard, no Bucky for her to cuddle with

She did stay with him at the hospital a lot, speaking mostly in Russian so that the others don’t understand

But one day Thor showed up

“трудно спать без тебя, надеюсь, ты скоро поправишься” (it’s hard to sleep without you , I hope you get well soon)

“Да, я тоже” (yeah, me too)

“так ты в отношениях”

Thor said, leaning in the doorway

“You understand Russian?”

“Yes I do, by are you courting each oth-“

“Yes but don’t tell anyone”

Natasha sighed

“Your secret is safe with me”

Out of nowhere, Tony apears;

“What secret?”

“I do not know, now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go back to new Asgard”

Luckily, Thor saved them, but they would rather not be teased by their friends, so it’s still a secret

The podcast is still going strong, but tomorrow when Bucky gets out of the hospital they will record an episode and film it live

Waking up, shower yourself, dressing, training, talking with some of your avenger’s mates… that was basically your routine. Your very monotone routine. But still, you loved it.

You were doing something you really loved and enjoyed, of course. You remember the exactly moment when Fury told you that you were accepted on the iniciative, that was the very best moment of your hole life and now it made sense.

As an agent, of a high level you must say, it was an honor and finally all your tasks and years of training were worth the wait. You shared with all of your teammates the New Avengers Facility after the incident in Sokovia. You had to train new recruits along with Steve and Natasha, so you were very into it.

You never wanted to dissapoint anyone or have secrets thay could be dangerous for everyone, but then the mission came.

Thor was back after two months, and the first thing the team did was welcoming the god of thunder himself so warmly with one of Tony’s fancy parties. Except that you all didn’t count that the alarm turned on and the original Avengers team left. One of HYDRA’s bases was found and your job was to go there and investigate.

With everyone on their battle clothes and Tony with his suit, now you were waiting for the orders from Steve.

“Remember the last time?” he started, ”well, we’re doing it slowly”.

“I hope this it has nothing to do with Loki” Tony said from his seat and commanding the quinjet along with Clint.

“Me too” the redhead said.

“So we’re going to battle, and then?” You said to Steve for him to continue his speech, and sat down on the place.

“We’re doing teams” he said sitting down with his tablet watching a map of the base in Washington.

Tony and Clint ended together, Romanoff and Steve, and then there was Thor and you. In case something was wrong, Bruce was on the ship ready to use a green code.

You all ended with a nood and let Captain Rogers handle the situation. After some minutes of talking, the quinjet landed and everyone got out to the woods, very far from the city. Steve guided you all to the large and neglected bulding and took separate ways.

Tony and Clint went to the left side, Steve and Natasha to the right, and Thor and you right to the core of the edifice. It was weird, kind of, because you didn’t talked too much to the asgardian actually, and now you both were partners on an important mission. You both started to going up on the stairs, you with your guns in your belt, ready for shot any enemy on your way, while Thor grabbed strongly his hammer.

It was easy the way to the second floor, but there some agents met both of you and were rapidly eliminated with yours and Thor fight skills. You both didn’t say anything and started walking, until the blond god found a blocked door. He defeated the lock with the hammer and you followed him inside.

There was a big room, and Thor was surprised with what he found: computers and files talking about other creatures, planets and galaxies, and the power that they would find outside… those bastards knew about the Infinity Stones. His anger was growing on his soul, knowing also that HYDRA was hiding Loki’s scepter.

You walked around the room, trying to understand the info on one of the computers, but suddenly a crash pulled you out of your thoughts. You turned around just to see Thor destroying everything on the room.

“What the hell are you doing?!” you screamed and you walked quickly near him and tried to stop him holding his arm. “Stop! Why are you doing that?! Stop!”

Thor took your wrist with his free arm and he tried to left you in your place without moving while he finished destroying the machines with his thunder and lightning. Suddenly, the fire was everywhere. Thor and you ran out the room, letting the things burning.

“Why you did that?” you asked again with the same voice tone, once you were going down stairs.

The god didn’t answered and finally were on the first floor.

“Thor, that’s not how you handle all that information” you continued. “Maybe on those files we would have an answer or something that led us to be prepared, but you just took it off, why?!”

“Everyone let’s get out of the building, there’s fire spreading on the place. Please, go to the quinjet, now” Steve’s voice was on your ears communicator.

“You already heard, let’s get out of here” Thor said, ignoring you, and you both started to run again after an explosion was heard on the back of the construction.

Once everyone arrived the quinjet, you heard Steve and Tony speaking about the information they have found on the base, while you were listening carefully. Thor was by Steve’s side on the ship, and you couldn’t stop staring at him and wanted to scream so bad that he actually found something too. But his deep gazes towards you said better not to.

You stayed in your seat, playing with your hands and thinking on a way to make him speak... or at least reveal what you saw.

“So, Y/N, you and Thor didn’t find anything?” Tony asked on the room.

“No, unfortunately” the god answered before you could. He saw you, in front of him, while you were with your arms crossed.

“Yeah, we just went for some investigation, but it ended with some agents on the floor so…” you shrugged.

“Fine, I think that’s it for today. Thank you” Steve said, letting everyone to leave from the conference room.

You stayed there, waiting for everyone to get out and then search for Tony and tell him what Thor did on the base.

But the blond man might have thought about you opening your mouth to your team leaders, and now he was still in front of you on the other side of the table.

“You’re not leaving?” you asked.

“Do you?” you noticed his playful voice. You just stayed there, without moving and just watched him, until he burst on a little laugh.

“What’s so funny?” you spoke clearly annoyed. You were wainting for the right moment to have a word with Stark about what happened, you thought everyone had the right to know.

��I don’t know” he lets his fists resting on the table between you. “Maybe you just want to told Tony or someone what I did before”.

“And what if I want to?” you were getting irritated by his behavior.

“You don’t understand…”

“What?” you interrupted. “What we don’t know?! Please, iluminate us, god of thunder, son of Odin, with your wisdom” you spoke, your voice filling the empty room.

“Want to know? Well, your kind is messing up with something you don’t know and this will only bring wars and wars, and that leads you to lose all the peace that you barely have in your tiny world. Did you know that you are not the only living beings on the universe?” he said, walking slowly to you. “Humans only think they are the center of everything when they are not, and your persuit for power only make you foolish and selfish, more than you already are, which brings consequences for all the Nine Realms, so I don’t want you to mess up on this situation anymore” Thor finished in front of you.

You couldn’t believe it. Was he treating humans like you were less than him and the other species on the universe? You can’t leave Thor talk in that way after what the team did for him and by his side.

“If you’re trying to stop a war, then you’re not doing a great job being here with us” you started. “Why don’t you go back to Asgard where everyone can see you as a god? You just have sparkles and lightnings on Earth. We’re not your subjects, Thor. And you can’t talk about us in that way. We can help you, but as I can see you don’t require our menor strenght because you can’t talk properly about your business with your partners”.

You were ready to leave because you didn’t want to go further with this conversation, but suddenly he stopped you with his hand in your arm.

“Don’t touche me!” quickly you got off of his grip.

Your anger was something new to him, and he let your arm go when you turned around to see him. You were always peaceful and was his first time seeing you showing that kind of emotion, only towards him.

You turned again and walked to the door, but Thor make sure you didn’t leave the room again standing by the entrance.

“Just let me go, you have what you wanted” you said getting serious. Your eyes never leaving his.

“I know, but not in this way”.

“Oh, now you’re sorry? Well, I don’t care. You said what you said, now let me go”.

Meeting a billionaire is not a normal occurrence. Maria had lived her whole life in Queens, surrounded by people of similar socioeconomic backgrounds. Meeting someone like Tony Stark was something for the record books.  

That being said, Maria never thought she would be meeting Tony Stark in a place like this. Happy had given her an address on the phone, and she figured it would be a skyscraper not an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of Queens. Upon her entry, Maria spotted a group of three men who stood in a circle. Only one of them was facing her, the one in suit and tie. His fingers snapped and the two others turned to face the newcomer. 

"You must be the psychic Happy's been telling me about." These were the first words spoken to her by the great Tony Stark, and to be honest, they rubbed Maria the wrong way. 

"I'm technically considered a medium," Maria replied. She had tried to hide the annoyance in her tone but failed. Tony could tell he would be dealing with another difficult teenager. This girl and the kid would get along well, that much was certain. 

"Whatever, girl. You see ghosts, that's what matters," Tony said. Maria nodded and the third man came closer. She recognized his face from the television. Dr. Bruce Banner, also known as the Hulk, which frightened Maria more than she would like to admit. She wrung her hands nervously and turned her attention back toward Tony Stark. 

"Yeah, Peter said I'm like the kid from The Sixth Sense," Maria said. Tony's large brown eyes grew even wider when Maria brought up a pop culture reference. That bit of information held more sentimental value for him than this girl would ever know. 

"Sounds like Pete. Is he...is he here right now? Like, can he hear me or are you the only one they can see?" Tony asked. His voice was laced with anxiety and Maria felt confused at seeing such a powerful man reduced to such a state. 

"No, he can see and hear you. Spirits are just different forms of themselves now, so we aren't on the same wavelength. He would have to exert a lot more energy to contact you. And yes, he's here. With a guy named Strange," Maria answered. Tony and Bruce nodded along with her while the third man, who had yet to introduce himself, stood off to the side with a confused expression on his face. 

"How do I know this isn't all bullshit?" Tony asked incredulously. His tanned face was scrunched up. Maria looked to her right, where Peter had positioned himself but was met with his blank stare of adoration at the man who had helped him so much. It was a look that a son would give a father, and it broke your heart that Tony couldn't see it for himself. 

"You don't. I wish there was a way to project what I can see or do a seance, anything that would help you contact him. But I've tried almost everything and nothing has ever worked. I've had this gift my whole life, and no one has ever taken my word for it besides my mother. I promise you that I'm here to help, and I'll do that in any way that I can. Dr. Strange said it was my job to be a translator for you guys, so that's what I plan on doing," Maria responded. Peter gave her a thumbs up when she finished her speech and she laughed at his childish gesture. 

This laugh earned her quite a few looks from the three men opposite her. The girl shrugged in dismissal and turned toward the two spirits in the room.

"What do I need to tell them?" Maria asked Dr. Strange. His blue face scrunched up in thought and Peter glanced between Maria and Tony while he waited for Strange to reveal his plan. Maria gave the boy a smile of encouragement when she saw his nervous expression. 

"According to Dr. Strange's endgame, we have to create a device that allows you to go back in time and destroy one of the infinity stones. If you are able to destroy one in the past, then Thanos cannot use the power of all six stones for his nefarious plan," Maria said. She had no idea what she was talking about, but from the look of understanding that crossed Tony and Bruce's faces, she was sure that they knew what to do. 

"So Strange wants us to build a time machine?" Tony asked, his face contorted in confusion. Maria nodded slowly, her gaze shifting from Tony to Bruce as the two men looked at each other. 

"And how does he suggest we do that?" Tony replied, his voice full of sarcasm. Maria turned to Dr. Strange for an answer.

"He and Dr. Banner are two of the most ingenious minds in the world, if anyone can figure out how to travel through time and space, it's the two of them," Dr. Strange replied. Maria pursed her lips and nodded in thanks before turning back to the two men. 

"He says that with you and Dr. Banner working together, you'll be able to figure it out," Maria said, trying to repeat Dr. Strange's message in as nice a manner as possible. 

Tony and Bruce both sighed. The two men looked at each other and nodded in agreement before turning back to the girl in front of them. 

"Alright, girl. Let's go," Tony said, motioning to the man behind him. The three men started walking toward to door with Maria stumbling after them. 

"What do you mean? Where are we going?" Maria asked. 

"I got a place. Much nicer than this, so hopefully it'll meet your standards," Tony replied with an edge in his voice. He started chewing a piece of gum and threw a set of keys to the man in the suit. "C'mon, Happy'll drive us. Do the spirits know where we're going?" 

Maria nodded and gestured for the two men only visible to her to follow them to Tony's new place. Strange and Peter both nodded and faded, signaling that they would meet up with them again soon.

"Alright, let's make a time machine."

The tower Tony had brought Maria to was the nicest building she had ever seen. She was afraid to touch anything in fear of breaking something that was worth more than her entire apartment building. 

She was standing around what looked like a regular table with the three men and two ghosts nearby. Tony performed some convoluted hand gestures and a complicated 3D system appeared in front of the group. Maria couldn’t help but gasp at the unbelievable technology in front of her. 

“We need to think about all the times we were ever in contact with an infinity stone before Thanos got his grubby purple hands on them,” Tony said to the group with a scowl. 

“Loki had the Tesseract when he went all serial killer in New York,” Bruce said, his face sporting a light green undertone. It was very evident that he didn’t care for Thor’s adopted brother. 

“The Tesseract was one of these stone things? Didn’t it open some portal in New York?” Maria asked with a puzzled expression on her face. The three men turned to face the young girl. 

“Yeah, it was one of the stones. Its real name was the space stone,” Tony said slowly. 

“And how many of these stones are there?” Maria asked again, not completely understanding the concept of the all-powerful stones. Tony pressed a few buttons on his 3D computer display and six lumpy stones appeared in front of them. They varied in color, all representing the various colors of the rainbow. Maria couldn’t help but compare them to her favorite candy, Skittles. 

“These are the infinity stones. The blue one is the space stone. Red is reality, purple is power, green is time, yellow is the mind, and orange is the soul stone. We’ve seen the blue stone, the yellow stone, and the green stone, which would be really beneficial if Strange hadn’t handed it to the purple man like an idiot,” Tony said.

“You tell Stark that giving that stone to Thanos was the only way to save his sorry ass,” Strange retorted sharply. Maria rolled her eyes and saw Peter chuckling at the two adults’ antics.  

“Dr. Strange said that he gave the time stone to Thanos to save your life, Mr. Stark,” Maria said, her voice similar to a parent addressing their bickering children. 

“I would say we go for the tesseract. Loki is a lot easier to handle than those crazy alien things we dealt with when we met Strange,” Dr. Banner said. He clicked on the blue stone and videos popped up of the Avengers fight in New York. 

“Alright then. 2012, here we come.”

Infinity War Reaction: so, like, spoilers through this whole post.

I think.............................. there’s a lot to be said for the acting. This cast is really good, and though a lot of people had like, three lines (cough SebStan cough) they made those three lines memorable. And the plot itself was so disjointed that the cast must have had a hell of a time weaving the storyline together into something coherent. 

I also went in ready for a mess and came out with a more positive impression than I entered, which is not what happened with cacw, the other ensemble cast film, so I’m pleasantly surprised about that. And the movie is... a culmination of the entire mcu, so I wasn’t expecting it to be very character-driven or deep (and imo this is where people are getting irritated with the movie, as well as the fact that marvel chose to dump the movie’s minimal exposition on its villain instead of any one hero)(but unpopular opinion: i’m glad they didn’t have strange ‘’’grow’’’ out of his moral ruthlessness, or wanda declare that she can’t turn her back on the fight, or tony sob about peter’s death- this was a movie about loss that is just... shoved onto you, the disappearance of billions of people in a matter of minutes- and idk I think people changing drastically over that length of time is unlikely, and once you’ve set that aside, imo, the movie didn’t feel as exhausting.)

I think I read two reaction posts right after exiting the theater  (@him-e‘s and @subjunctivemood‘s) and it’s kind of funny but I agree and disagree with them on a lot of points, despite each having relatively separate reactions themselves.

Funniest bit was that Clint/Ant-man just......... took a plea deal. I could not stop imagining the poor data entry person who had to process that nightmare of a thing, like, Clint goes “first active, then I brought in a Russian spy who might be brainwashed, then I got married and hid the family, then I retired, then I un-retired and became a fugitive, now I’m.... retired again bc my wife’s mad at me and I miss the kids???” this convo has no room not to be hilarious, I’m forever mad at marvel for cutting it lol

I liked the beginning.

ngl, it was heartbreaking. 

also though, the movie starts by someone pleading- “this isn’t a warship, don’t fire- please- don’t fire-” and we see Thanos ignoring that, we see Heimdall on the floor, we see Thor bleeding; there were a lot of ways to establish that Thanos was a villain but none so dramatic as this one

And this movie is if nothing else #iconique

The total message behind the villain’s ideology was screwed up, but the hero’s answers to that? Reminds me of this meta in the asoiaf fandom, tbh: “we don’t trade lives” vs "’Everything,’ Davos said softly.”

It was powerful. I’m still in love with it. 

In fact, I’m in love with the entire idea of the movie- where everything hurts, and hurts, and hurts, and nothing you do is enough, where all you can do is keep pushing against the darkness and it’s winning all the damn time and you know you cannot win, you know it’s absolutely impossible- but you rise and you stand and you fight nevertheless.

Pssh Nebula though is gorgeous. Nebula is just. W O W. I might watch specific clips of her and Gamora alone because I have been missing out on that relationship. (SISTERS??? RAISED TO HATE EACH OTHER??? NOW REPAIRING THAT RELATIONSHIP??? I LOVE)

Gamora didn’t deserve to die, but- I think.... I’d have liked it more if Thanos had killed her and realized that it wasn’t love, not in the end, so he gives up something else- I understand why that didn’t work out, because of screen time- but maybe another gem?? Or one of his best lieutenants? Idk that would’ve been a better route, imo.

Relationships what relationships. Who knows who? Who cares about who? What cacw baggage? The only thing the Russos know is that Tony isn’t talking to Steve, and even that isn’t resolved properly, jfc.

I’m glad they piggy-backed off of Ragnarok’s humor, though, using both Banner and Thor to deliver those lines- it was good, and both actors are really good at those punchlines, so.

Though CA’s “I am Steve Rogers” in response to Groot still has me in stitches, that’s one of the best lines in cinematic history

Re: Strange/Tony, I went in expecting to ship it from multiple friends, but I came out kind of.... lackluster? Idk, I don’t see the chemistry that much- it seems like... they’re both just snappy assholes and used to being the smartest in the room and build off of each other. The Pepper scene in the beginning made my day, lolol.

The deaths could have been better. Ngl, the only deaths that made me feel things were T’Challa and Spiderman. The rest just- happened too fast. 

Though Tony’s face (and Steve’s, and Rhodey’s)- oh, yeah, that was good. 

Anyone else realize that the majority of the people that are left are the original avengers? Avengers4 will be more similar to the first avengers than either Ultron or this one, mark my words, and hopefully better for it.

I really really hope they put in one thing in the next movie of Tony panicking on Titan because he’s faced the thing he’s been afraid of for years now, he’s faced his biggest fucking fear-

Yeah, they probably won’t have time, yada yada yada, but it’d be damn cool if they gave me another panic attack a la IM3. That was good shit right there.

So, overall- I liked the movie, and the best shot of the entire thing (the five minutes that summed it up) were where all the Avengers come to try to stop him, and it doesn’t work, they’re batted aside like little toy pieces, and they face their darkest fears, Wanda kills Vision-

And it isn’t enough.

Thanos has time, has reality, has everything on his side. Wanda isn’t enough. Vision isn’t enough. Strange and Tony and Spiderman and everyone- they aren’t enough.

14 million possibilities, and only one where they win. But that one is a chance, and they aren’t going to let go of hope while that chance exists. There’s almost no likelihood that they’ll succeed, but goddamn does that mean they’ll give up.

That’s a really good motif for the entire movie.

okay, who wants some Ragna-thoughts:

starting with the very end, THEY’RE DOING ASGARD TO EARTH, I DID NOT EVEN CONSIDER THAT POSSIBILITY!!! That was my second favorite Thor run of all time and to see it play out on the big screen was so neat, I just wish we could see Thor summoning the entire kingdom to Oklahoma!

Okay now back to the beginning, I literally wept during that first fight scene bc a) I missed my baby boy so much!!! and b) that shot that followed the hammer in a circle was the sickest shit I’ve ever seen

Thor in his midgard outfit was so fucking precious. He looks so comfy in his jeans and like 4 layers of shirts and jackets

I did not see Doctor Strange, but like... where does his bitch ass get off being the #1 earth defender now, when I’m pretty sure he got his magician gig like... 6 months ago? Wadn’t he a selfish prick up until then? and implying that he could school Loki in magic? I don’t fucking think so. A+ for Thor destroying his house, 10/10, would watch again.

the beginning really did a good job of just how important the hammer is to Thor and all the cool ways he can use it, like in a way better way than all the other movies did. Him just casually throwing it around was really neat, and totally what I would do if I had such a thing.

and another thing this one did better (aside from, like, EVERYTHING, but I digress) is emphasizing Thor and Loki’s brotherhood. Loki wasn’t there to be a villain, he was just a terrible little shit brother, and Thor actually knew all of his tricks, which makes waaay more sense than “Are you ever not going to fall for that one?” bc they are brothers! Thor would know him better than that, and in this one he fucking did.

On that note, I could tell going in that Thor would be goofy and a little immature, but still observant, and they delivered on that. He was so sincere, and sharp, and emotionally mature when they moment required him to be. He just felt like such a well-rounded character and I am eternally grateful for that!

anyway I LOVE MY BEAUTIFUL DRUNK GF

Valkyrie was so cool and relatable! The whole “drinking to forget” angle totally worked, and I’m glad they took the time in the beginning to show she wasn’t such a serious character, which is a trap that so many of these action movies get into with their female leads. She fell off that ship and into my heart!

And her chugging that drink in Hulk’s room was the biggest mood

AND HER BEING BESTIES WITH HULK MADE MY ENTIRE GODDAMN LIFE

like the two of them play fighting and being all chummy?! A fucking delight! A++++!!! And the fact that she and Bruce couldn’t figure out how they knew each other? So cute! That relationship was the big winner in my book

That part with Thor admitting he wanted to be a Valkyrie as a kid? It got so awkward, but I was still totally like “LET HIM BE A VALKYRIE THO”

Speaking of Hulk, when they showed his ass, all I could remember is that post that said “I’m afraid this movie is gunna make me want to fuck the Hulk” and how that is about to be true for.... a handful of you fine folks

humanizing the Hulk is another thing that this movie actually went out of it’s way to do, best hulk appearance by far, AoU and Avengers can suck it

That being said, but did anyone find Bruce kind of... Annoying in this one? I get that he was freaked out for a grip but like, 0/10 for charm, snark, and cuteness, wasn’t generally very useful to the plot either

I was like 10000% sure they were mocking the whole AoU de-Hulking process when Thor gave it a try during their fight, but then the video of Nat was the catylist for his return to Bruce, so like... that ball was dropped after all. I cannot for a second pretend that my heart didn’t skip a beat when Thor tried that tho, like “YES ITS THUNDERHULK TIME!!!”

On that note, I’ve called you all here today to make a very important announcement. I’ve done some soul searching and have come to the conclusion that BruceNat was never good and I am ready to denounce my time stanning for it. I will not be taking questions on the matter.

like seriously, to borrow a phrase from the McElroys, every time they brought it up, my skeleton completely left my body and ran off. This movie in general gets a 5/10 for skeleton evacuations, 6/10 for watching it through your fingers, and a 3/10 for taking your glasses off so you don’t have to see the humiliating jokes

 the joke I laughed the hardest at was Korg mentioning his mother’s boyfriend, who he hates. Describing Korg as “scene stealing” is an understatement, he was the fucking treasure of the movie.

The Grandmaster was flawless as well tho, just fucking delightful.

I’m seeing it again on Saturday with a date and I can’t wait to catch all the jokes I missed, bc the crowd tonight was cracking up so dang much that I missed a few punchlines.

Second funniest moment tho was Thor describing how Loki would turn into a snake when they were kids, and then stab him. Just some boyish fun :)

I didn’t miss the Ares and Beta Rey Bill easter eggs on the grandmaster’s tower

Thor loosing an eye? Heart wrenching, and totally surprising too! If he doesn’t still have the eye patch in Infinity War I will be very upset. I also wept during the second fight scene with Immigrant Song bc it was just so rad and my lighting prince is just so strong and stalwart! 

Just in general, Thor’s lightning powers were so much cooler here than any other appearance bc it actually seemed like something he had to work to access, not just blast out at will. I guess that was because he didn’t have the hammer to channel it? but at any rate his powers felt both more personal and more fierce, not just like something he has. This one just added so much more depth to Thor in general 

Hemsworth was just fucking hilarious and cheeky and really kept the balance in the movie. All of the slapstick (and there was A LOT) didn’t cheapen any of the character’s roles, maybe save for Bruce’s, who was generally the weakest character there by far.

I can’t wrap up without mentioning how they really made an effort to make the people of asgard seem more racially diverse, and while not perfect, it was a noticeable effort that needed to happen

anyway 10/10, exactly what I was hoping for, I owe Taika my life.

Its still second to Winter Soldier in my book, but a fucking close second for sure

MCU Rewatch: “Avengers: Age of Ultron” (2015)

This post isn’t as long as the one I wrote for Avengers but it’s still pretty long.

In all fairness, after The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, it was fair to expect Age of Ultron to be just as good, but it shouldn’t have been a surprise that it wasn’t.

But some kind of end-credit scene would have been nice.

The Bartons’ farmhouse has a very nice kitchen

The real villain of the film is the Mind Stone. The opening shot of the film is the Sceptre. The Mind Stone created Ultron and gave him his incentive to destroy the world and attack the Avengers--whether due to some scientific reaction or intentionally. Re: my theory that the Infinity Stones should be regarded as actual “characters”, AoU demonstrates it

The main characters are: the Maximoff twins, Tony Stark, and Clint Barton. 

The Avengers

By the time the film opens, the Avengers have been taking down Hydra and they’ve been unstoppable.

The team has a working relationship with JARVIS--we see at least Steve talking to him

Their teamwork is incredible. Steve is sharing his shield with Nat. I’m sure she’s not the only one but we got her doing it onscreen and I don’t think that’s a coincidence. Also Clint tossing the Shield to Steve; the team throwing the robots to each other to beat up, it’s great to watch

“Code Green” only happens occasionally, not every time

Does that mean Banner plays the “man in the chair” on other occasions from the QuinJet?

On their various missions, they have fought other “enhanced” people

The Avengers have their own satellite. It’s not just Veronica on there, they’ve got surveillance and stuff. It probably helps with their communications.

Wolfgang von Strucker let the other Hydra bases be found bc they didn’t concern him or his experiments. But he didn’t think the Avengers would come for them. An arrogant miscalculation.

But he’s also a coward

Hydra has always more or less wanted an army of super-humans. They weren’t satisfied with just the Winter Soldier--and how could they be?

Ulysses Klaue was in contact with Strucker and they had talked very recently

Golly these people are just disturbing

The Maximoff twins are indeed punks

Tony Stark:

By the end of the film, Steve takes Thor and Tony’s word for it that alien threats are still out there. But Steve doesn’t understand how seriously Tony takes that threat and how personally it affects him

Part of it is because no one was really listening in the scene after Ultron awakens when Tony talked about those fears. As soon as he said “Do you all remember when I went through a wormhole?” they thought he was expressing self-pity. They told him to minimize those fears at least momentarily because Ultron was the bigger issue at the moment.

Also Tony never told the rest of the team about the dream Wanda gave him. 

Probably because he didn’t think they would listen. Chances are, he was right on that count.

Steve and Tony aren’t super-close friends like the way Steve and Bucky used to be. But they were friends. They had a cordial working relationship. So those of you saying Tony in Civil War saying “So was I” was an arrogant assumption are incorrect--but those of you saying Steve at least owed Tony some personal loyalty are also correct.

Tony’s dream: Why didn’t you do more? Tony isn’t just afraid of aliens returning. He’s afraid of his own inadequacy. He’s afraid of failure.

Tony knows the team doesn’t understand what he’s been through. Tony also knows that the team doesn’t understand what the possibility of a permanent solution means: because some of them don’t have real “homes” to go to. And Tony kind of wants to end the personal hell he’s been living in for the last seven years. If he can. I think by the end of this movie Tony realizes that maybe finding something to replace the Avengers isn’t the best idea

There also is kind of something suspicious about him creating an AI that immediately attacked him and his friends. Maybe the Mind Stone tapped into Tony’s self-loathing and his...distrust of the others. IDK how that would already have been written into Ultron but remember we are dealing with cosmic forces here

It’s nice that even without an AI that Tony still has working internet in his suits

Ulysses Klaue knew Tony Stark well enough to recognize one of his catchphrases. What aren’t you telling us, Tony? (Chances are I don’t wanna know, actually)

Trying to harness forces that you don’t understand to solve your personal problems and everybody else’s problems is just a terrible way to deal with life

Watching Tony attempt that is not fun.

The Banner-to-Hulk and back transformation is painful and uncomfortable

Strucker had a chitauri slug monster in that vault. Tony’s PTSD was triggered as soon as he entered the room. Wanda just pushed him over the edge.

Thor had been looking for the sceptre since SHIELD fell. You have to assume that SHIELD had it in some kind of security--or they thought they did. All Strucker had to do was to contact the right Hydra sleepers and he had it for his personal use.

The Mind Stone created Ultron. Also Strucker created the robot bodies. Tony Stark did not create Ultron. Got it?

I like the party scene because it shows how some of the 06 have a life outside of Avenging.

Are those old vets at the party people that Steve knows/has met, or did Tony invite them?

Ultron wearing the mysterious cloak is super dope and my brother agrees

One of the weaker points of this film is that a lot of exposition happens in scenes in between the big action sequences. Like, exposition that explains tiny technical details

Fury and Hill absolutely pwned that Robot

Seeing Peggy in Steve’s dream kills me. Every time.

Natasha: 

Wanda convinced Steve to not trust Tony Stark

At the very least, Steve (A) was very aware that Tony dealing with something he didn’t understand behind everyone’s back had gotten them in the Ultron mess in the first place (B) he felt the need to tell Tony that doing so again was a bad idea, and (C) walking into the lab and seeing Tony already messing with it did not improve things

This whole thing really could have been avoided if someone else had taken Barton to the QuinJet and Thor had personally retrieved the scepter instead of letting Tony do it

Civil War really actually almost started over the cradle

But then Thor showed up and he didn’t say anything to explain stuff, he just did his thing with the hammer and the lighting

Also the tragedy at the end could have been avoided if someone had locked up the QuinJet, or even just hopped it over to the Helicarrier when it showed up--not like anybody had time but still

Thor saves a lady from falling--and she looks up and sees him--is that adoration in her face?

Laura tells Clint that he needs to look after the team and make sure they can work together, subtext: the world kind of depends on it

Helen Cho: *sass*

Clint has probably always wanted to bring the other Avengers to the farm. 

The Barton Farm probably has really great internet security. Probably the best SHIELD had to offer before it fell.

Did anybody get any real sleep while they were at Bartons?

Because it seems to me like the only time the Avengers got any sleep was during their trans-continental flights--but even then whatever jets they were flying in probably weren’t that comfy to sleep in

Ultron takes turns with each of the Avengers to pick a fight with them. He gets real pleasure out of intimidating each of them.

Sokovians hates America. They’ve been under communist rule for most of the last century so what do you expect? They hate American capitalism. They hate Tony Stark because that’s what he stands for. They hate the Avengers because that’s what they represent--or what people in an impoverished country in eastern Europe think they represent

(My headcanon is that American businesses tried to build there and they’ve made it harder for the local economy)

At some point back in the 90s, there was a war in Sokovia and one of the sides happened to be using contraband Stark Industries weapons. That’s what happened. I think Wanda figures that out sooner or later that it wasn’t directly Tony’s fault. If she doesn’t know already.

Wanda and Pietro Maximoff volunteered for Strucker’s experiments so that they could fight for their country. They joined the Avengers for the same reason. After Pietro’s death, Wanda joins the Avengers partly because she doesn’t have anywhere else to go, but she also wants to continue to fight the good fight and make the world a better place

Ultron knew about the Winter Soldier and after he had destroyed the planet I’ll bet you he would have gone to look for Bucky’s remains and then chewed on the metal arm like a drumstuck

the deleted/extended version of the Water of Sight scene was kind of better. They should have at least kept in the shot of Thor drinking the Asgardian liquor to stiffen his courage

Did his buds bring him that?

The scene with Laura and Clint in the bedroom is so tender. Screw what anybody else says, I love that Clint has a family. I’ve admitted this before, but I initially wrote Clintasha into my fanfic, but it just didn’t feel right. Laura and the little Bartons are what I needed 

(Because my Jedi OC who goes to the MCU is Clint’s adopted cousin)

Also, Auntie Nat. Clint and his family have adopted Natasha. I’m just in love with Clint taking in other orphan superheroes. ^_^

Nick Fury is basically the Avengers’ Dad and he knows it

Steve knows that the world he lives in now is different from the one he saved back in the 40s, and he knows that he’s a different person now. But that being said, his arc in this film is still heartbreaking to watch

Tony and Steve are both offended on a personal level that Vision can lift the hammer

When Wanda watches Vision coming out of the cradle, it isn’t “love at first sight”, it’s “okay the monster that Ultron created is out of the bag and it’s alive now, what’s it going to do?”

From my brother: Ultron should have known that Wanda Maximoff was going to “read” what was happening inside of the cradle

Also my brother: Ultron should have just flown off in the QuinJet

Ultron is just all kinds of unbalanced and he is scary

Overall, Age of Ultron isn’t as good quality as some previous MCU films but it still has a lot of epic action, it’s awesome and fun to watch

Bruce Banner and Natasha Romanoff:

I’ve said this before and I’ll say this again, the only reason I haven’t accepted other people’s theories about how BruceNat was fake or tried to retcon it myself is because I have made bad relationship decisions, I’ve tried to rush into relationships with people I wasn’t compatible with or didn’t know well yet, it’s part of being human

It’s still the worst part of the movie

I didn’t take it personally, I just...ugh

It’s poorly written and it makes no sense for their characters even if they do have a certain kind of working relationship. Even if you don’t ship Natasha with anyone else it’s terrible

The Hulk responds to touch from another person and it relaxes him

The Hulk does have some kind of relationship with Black Widow: he responds to her and he tries to protect her

Bruce Banner is also pretty comfortable with Natasha

Natasha’s lines in this movie really aren’t that great

We did, however, get the Red Room Flashbacks and a lot of kick-butt Black Widow action

The fact that Natasha talks about the trial of being artifically sterilized while the actress playing her was pregnant is kind of disgusting. Really disgusting, actually. But on the other hand (I think partly because of ScarJo’s pregnancy) Natasha is kind of emotional in that scene. Her voice is choking. She empathizes with Bruce and she tries to tell him as much. 

If there is anything redeeming about BruceNat, it is the thematic value

Natasha values her superhero work and she values the team

Everyone was kind of hoping that taking out Strucker in Sokovia would be the last thing the Avengers needed to do. So Natasha was banking on the fact that after they had stopped Ultron they wouldn’t be needed anymore. She was seriously contemplating running away with Bruce. If there was any possibility for her to step away from it all and have a normal life, she wanted it. She wanted some of that happiness in her life.

“I had this dream that I was more than the assassin that they made me into.” Why does no one talk about this line? That is her best line.

But poor Bruce just goes through the mill in this movie. 

When he comes out of the witch-dream in Africa, is he seeing Banner’s worst fear or the Hulk’s worst fear? Both?

Bruce Banner may feel some guilt with how Ultron turned out.

And the Hulk had a good look at all the terrible destruction he caused.

Did anyone else notice the soldiers with the guns surrounding the Hulk before the Hulkbuster finally took him out?

Hulk just can’t deal anymore, okay? 

And neither can Bruce. So no, now is not the time to elope.

I love the Maximoff twins, okay? Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen did a great job portraying them. And I’m biased because her name is Elizabeth and I’ve been cosplaying Scarlet Witch since months before AoU came out.

In spite of its flaws, I still like how Age of Ultron still has thematic depth. Themes include: Belonging, finding home and family, misunderstanding, being a “monster” versus being “human”. All themes that tie back to the greater MCU.

But yeah, it might as well be just a giant trailer for Civil War and Infinity War.

Age of Ultron and Thor: The Dark World aren’t the best MCU movies but Stan Lee has great cameos in both of them

The way I see it, after SHIELD fell (the world was less safe w/o SHIELD). Steve Rogers learned about Hydra having all these secret bases still in operation and Hydra people who had survived/escaped/not been found yet. That was important enough to him to reluctantly leave the search for Bucky (and hope that Sam Wilson would have some luck finding a person who didn’t want to be found). He called on the other Avengers to help him. Tony Stark decided that it would be a good idea to help out...well, more than a good idea, he knew he needed to help. He may have already had a new suit ready. Pepper had to have been at least semi-supportive at the outset. I don’t know what she heard about Ultron or Sokovia but it must not have been good.
