I'm sorry, but if you say that someone's music taste is "male manipulator music," you probably have trash taste and solely listen to Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift

what do you think kim's perspective on jean and harry's old relationship is?
i mean it can't be great, right? i doubt harry will ever remember much that he could tell kim, so kim would have to hear about it directly from jean or from their coworkers (or a mix of both) and regardless he's going to get some really biased answers. i think mostly the other officers would just be like "oh yeah those two crazy homos fought all the time but you never saw them apart. i think mullen swore off women after the last one and decided to start screwing vic instead." which is not especially helpful to kim in figuring out what the dynamic was.
jean would definitely open with telling kim how much harry sucked, warning him off harry, trying desperately to convey to kim that he should NOT make the same mistake and trust him. maybe later, if they've reestablished a little trust, then jean might tell kim some of the better things.
i think kim first and foremost knows that their relationship was deeply unhealthy, but the more he sees of both of them, the more he understands how it came to be. he recognizes their lack of distance and what it did to them. he sees jean's inflammatory behavior and the way harry has to struggle not to rise to the bait sometimes, and it's not hard to imagine those roles reversed. kim won't step in the middle of all their conflicts for them- it's not something he's comfortable with or wants to do, for several reasons- but he's a good mediating presence for them. just being around kind of makes them both take a step back and reevaluate whether they *really* want to get into it, jean because he clearly has respect for kim and doesn't want to look bad in his eyes, and harry because he is a sopping wet beast who thinks that doing something kim disapproves of will mean kim leaves forever and kim is his first (and probably only, at this point) bestie.

you listen to so many of my music postings and ive loved everything youve recommended me !! GIVE ME SOME MUSIC RECS (IF YOUD LIKE) !!
HI SAT I loveeeee your musicpostings they're SO good your recs are always amazing please keep musicposting forever !!
some recs of what I've been enjoying lately:
- Superchunk's album What A Time To Be Alive, especially the track Break The Glass! they're a rock band and I really enjoy the energy of their music.
- literally ALL of Anna Tivel's music, but the album Outsiders is probably my favorite - I bought the vinyl of it when I saw her opening for tMG and listened to it when I got home, and the absolutely heart-wrenching way that she paints stories in her songs floored me. some specific songs that I adore are Black Umbrella, Royal Blue, The Question, and One Thousand & One. her music is more on the slow-quiet side, I might compare it to some of the less intense crane wives songs? but her vocals shine in a really lovely way, and everything she sings feels so beautiful and real.
- Kevin Devine's album Nothing's Real So Nothing's Wrong, especially the track Albatross - another artist that I discovered when I saw them live & got this album on vinyl from, and I really enjoy how it's simultaneously so raw and so...abstract, I guess? I'd describe this album as stylistically somewhere between the narcissist cookbook and will wood.
aaaaaand quickfire round of one-off songs that I've enjoyed recently: Fuselage by Animal Hospital, Dominoes by Mary Timony, Lifers by Spanish Love Songs, Self Betterment In A Time Of Loneliness by Short Fictions, Tears in Costa by Junk Drawer.
this ended up being longer than I intended lmao but hope you enjoy!!! thank you for asking this was a lot of fun please talk to me about music ANYTIME :D

Crazy to me that being a big fan of music isn't the default. Wdym you don't listen to music every second you have the chance? Are you saying you have less than 5 playlists? With less than 10 hours each??!?! You don't know all the lyrics to your favorite songs like the back of your hand,??? And you don't try to memorise the translations of the songs in languages you don't speak??

got any good country recs there mate? 👀
my computer crashed when i initially opened this ask im in hysterics
BOY DO I EVER THOUGH!!
mostly this is just music i like, so naturally there's the caveat of it potentially not being to your taste; on top of that some of these may be additionally or technically classified as rock, folk, and/or indie/alternative because music genres are...so nebulous and i do not understand them...and sometimes the results when i search for the genre of certain artists just dont make sense or dont apply to individual songs......
so im being a hefty bit generous in calling some of these country, but they do diverge from those typical Beer Truck God America songs that pop up when searching for country while having a similar or related musical style, and hopefully they'll be a breath of fresh air for you!
i put my personal favourites in bold :] these are not ordered in any particular sort of style categorisation so it's a little messy, but each should link to a youtube version of the song! theres a decent array of different styles and tempos here i think
The Devil Wears a Suit and Tie - Colter Wall
Sleeping on the Blacktop - Colter Wall
Johnny Boy's Bones - Colter Wall
Ballad of a Law-Abiding Sophisticate - Colter Wall (this guy again!)
really any Colter Wall song/cover i'm going to be honest
Raise Hell - Brandi Carlile
The Cremation of Sam McGee - Seth Boyer
In the Pines - Danny Farrant & Paul Rawson
Back from the Edge - Lord Huron
Meet Me in the Woods - Lord Huron
Pretty Lavinia - American Murder Song
Murder! Murder! - American Murder Song
Hurt - Johnny Cash
God's Gonna Cut You Down - Johnny Cash
The Railroad - Goodnight, Texas
Down by the River - The Dirty River Boys
Providence - Poor Man's Poison
Hell's Bells - Cary Ann Hearst
Before He Cheats - Carrie Underwood (this one's popular)
Blown Away - Carrie Underwood
Bad News - Whitey Morgan and the 78's
The Curse of the Fold - Shawn James
The Wicked - Blues Saraceno
Grave Digger - Blues Saraceno
Little Black Train - Woodie Guthrie (if you've seen Over the Garden Wall, you'll recognise this; it has different lyrics from the cover in OTGW though)
hopefully none of the links are broken or directing to the wrong song :'D happy listening, lmk if there are any particular songs you enjoyed! and if none of these work out, thats totally fine, everyone has their tastes of course
