Probably those nasty ass "boys will be boys" kind of hang-outs with pizza boxes and chip bags and junk food trash all over the place- OKAY IN ALL DUE SERIOUSNESS, yeah, they would have hang outs like that often when they're tired from work and wanna just be lazy for a day with each other. They both stock up on junk food they like and make a list of movies to rent that they'll watch/talk and make jokes throughout. Vanilla will then head over to Vandelay Island and Chai will answer the door of his new apartment in his boxers like "Rule 1 of Casa Chai: NO PANTS!" So they'll just lug around at his place. Vanilla will try to clean up a bit and Chai will smack his hand like "Dude, stooop, just relaaax! We'll worry about cleaning that up later!" At some point they'll hear scratching at the window and see it's 808. They let her in enthusiastically before they hear Peppermint's voice asking "Wwwwhy are you guys not wearing pants?" And Chai has to tell Peppermint that she's not allowed to look in or eaves drop while he's having a dude night with Vani. She snarks him like "Eugh, why would I wanna listen to you guys be annoying about dad rock and puns in your underwear?" But she totally eaves drops at some point and Chai can tell and gets at her.

When they're up to actually going somewhere they'll most likely hit a record shop or arcade, or both! Chai dominates at DDR and Vanilla 100% slips at some point and falls on his ass. They use up any tickets they get from ski ball or w/e to grab candy and dumb little prizes that they'll either lose on the way back to Chai's place, or forget about in their pockets for weeks until they reach in and find it and pog and mess with it for 5 minutes.

2. Who confesses first? How? I actually haven't really thought about how a confession would go between them! Like, I mean, I've imagined scenarios, but I've never thought of one that felt...legitimate for them? For now, they're just trying to have a proper friendship again after their initial friendship in college was so...rough. Though I imagine Chai is crushing on him p bad and takes any chance to flirt or make a move. Vanilla always responds with a little laugh and a, "not so fast, guy." Even though Vanilla often flirts back when he's aware that he's being flirted with. It takes time for these two goobers, basically. When they do fess up, I think it's a quiet mutual thing...maybe they're hanging out on the roof of some place talking and snacking and they both reach for one another's hand during a quiet moment. They don't need words to understand what they're trying to get at...especially because they're both awkward dorks it's for the best they don't say anything and just let the gesture speak for them.

3. Do they sing any songs together? In the past, Vanilla let Chai do all the singing because he was embarrassed by his monotone voice. It made it really difficult for him to sing well and he didn't want to look lame in front of Chai.

Fast forward to the present, Vanilla starts taking speech therapy and he gets confident enough to sing along when they hang out and listen to music together. Chai's so stoked he drags Vani to a karaoke place so they can be as loud and dumb as they want.

I could see their go-to songs ranging from genre to genre tbh...but they are absolutely singing some ABBA like no one is watching.

I think Jaeden Martell is going to be R's love interest in Y2k, she said they filmed a lot of scenes together so 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm very intrigued by that project... A24 productions are soo good.

I still hope for R casting news soon. I'm regards of Zeglyth I think we scared her off with the shipping, she's going to keep their friendship very lowkey but tbh it's obvious they're both going to move on with their lives. I kinda saw the writing on the wall since R and T are very different people with very different interests (R is a consummate homebody and T is a wild adventure boy) They have crazy chemistry but live different life styles and working on this industry means they'll live on different parts of the world from months at a time. I'm hoping for another project but it all depends on the script and what type of career/roles R goes for after SW. And regarding their personal lives, well... R is locked in with her man and I have some thoughts about T's thirsty ass shaenigangs on IG but whatever. We all should be here for their careers only so I'll just shut up lmao, I genuinely hope the best for them cause they're both so insanely talented!!!

🎂 BIRTHDAY CAKE - when is their birthday? do they like celebrating it?

Fiver's birthday is the 20th Sun of the Fifth Astral Moon which is to say it's the same as my birthday (9/19). I... honestly don't know that he's ever celebrated his birthday before. Maybe when he was a wee kit, but not since he went off to become a wood warder. At some point one of his friends will ask and they'll all realize he hasn't celebrated his birthday in like 35 years and will throw him the Biggest Party.

Elpis flowers, obviously, and then as far as real earth flowers go: forget-me-not (memory), chamomile (patience), edelweiss (courage), purple hyacinth (sorrow), iris (faith, hope), thyme (strength), zinnia (absent friends), ivy (friendship), heliotrope & honeysuckle (love), wisteria (long life, immortality). I have no idea how good all those flowers would look together, I was just scrolling down a flower meanings website. His favorite is wisteria.

🎤 MICROPHONE - are they good at singing? what is their go-to karaoke song?

Yes! He has a very lovely voice and is an excellent singer. His go-to karaoke song would be nothing, though, because he's the world's shyest bard and is mortified at the idea of performing in front of people. It took a VERY long time for the Scions to get to hear him play or sing. If they got him drunk enough, he might sing one of the probably many songs he's written about G'raha at this point, though.

12) How do they deal with an itch found in a place they can't quite reach?

Ok, fun one! It definitely depends on whether they're on the job or just on their day to day lives, y'know? If they're not on an active mission, Grant would have no qualms about asking David to scratch his back or something (and would probably jokingly start moaning in delight to piss David off). David could ask Grant as well, of they're in confidence and he's in the mood. If not, he'd just lean against a wall or something lmao. If they're on a mission, though, they'll just suppress the need. Or if it's truly urgent they'll ask each other and get it done, no jokes this time.

16) What makes their stomachs turn?

Like, metaphorically? Well, in their line of work there's not much they haven't seen or gotten to experience, so in that sense they're pretty hardened. Blood, violence, they're familiar with that, in a way. I guess senseless violence still gets to them, especially towards children and of course, seeing each other get hurt 👀.

Literally? Lmao no idea, will need more time to explore that. As agents, they can handle their liquor pretty well (gotta perfect the art of standing inconspicuously at a bar, or wining and dining a mark!) but I'd say David is a little bit more of a lightweight (he doesn't really get sick though, but he'll get drunk lmao).

17) & 18) Are they easily embarrassed? What embarrasses them?

Lumping these two together. I'd say Grant isn't that easily embarrassed. He's the type of guy who's always down for a round of karaoke, or who has no trouble laughing at his own misfortunes, now turned into funny anecdotes. He's pretty easy-going, so there's not much that would cause him to turn red. In a professional sense, he's the one that tends to take the lead when it comes to field work where they need to talk to people, chat up a mark, get information out of someone without they realizing, so he's pretty used to that kind of pressure, to thinking on the spot and turning potential mishaps into advantages. Still, he's human, and he's never truly as extroverted as he appears to be, so a failed social interaction or a genuine mistake in a relationship can still haunt him for a bit.

David is not quite as easy-going as his partner. He's got a bit of a perfectionist streak, so small mistakes can sour his mood pretty easily, and getting called out by his superiors for some misstep during a mission definitely stings. I don't think he's the type to get sad and mopey, though, he's incredibly quick-tempered, and if anything, that embarrassment turns quickly into anger, sometimes at those calling him out and sometimes at himself. He'll take it as a challenge to push himself further, tho (aaand might break a few rules if he thinks it's warranted). In his day to day life? Definitely gets embarrassed by any dumb thing. Grant catches him doing NYT Connections or Wordle and gets the answers before him, and he'll seethe about it for the whole day, lmao.

41) How do they feel about children?

Aaah, this is such a fun question, because my own thoughts about children always end up bleeding into my characters, which is why almost all of them don't have kids and don't plan to. And yes, ok, these guys don't have kids either, but the idea for them does come from a dream where their proto-characters were mentors to this teenager, so a bit of that has stuck to their final versions...

I think Grant loves kids, and he'd love to be a father one day. Of course, that--and mantaining a relationship--has proven difficult, what with his line of work and all, but the point remains that he's fantastic with children. His little sister has a daughter of her own, and he loves to dote on his young niece as much as he can. He's such a fun uncle, y'know? Kids love him, too, and if there happens to be a child involved in any of the missions, he'll make sure no harm comes to them, keeping them happy and distracted if need be.

David doesn't feel quite at home with kids as Grant does, but he's also someone who kids feel completely safe with. Babies and toddlers, he'll definitely feel a bit unsure around them, not because he doesn't like them but because he's never had any experience with them. But with kids and teens, he's actually really good. He's always kind to them, talks to them like an adult would, and never makes them feel like they're not cared for. Think a Gordon Ramsey type, will cuss out any adults for literally anything, but will be sweet and patient with kids any day.

In the spirit of keeping that concept from my dream alive, I'm still playing with the idea that in one of their missions, they get assigned to take care of this millionaire teen/young adult, and they both definitely get attached to their young charge. So they kinda get to be dads for a bit lmao.

Tell me about some red flags when meeting a new person. 🚩

So, I'll be honest. This is a really hard topic for me, because there are so many red flags that it's hard to think of a short list. In the interest of getting a little of it out, here is an incomplete list

1. If someone is using the word "friend" in a completely unironic way, then they're probably an asshole

Seriously, if someone says that they are "all my best friends," they are probably an asshole

Same goes for someone who calls all their friends "best friends." Anyone who uses this phrase in an ironic sense is probably an asshole. You probably aren't friends with that person. You should probably just leave that person's presence, for your own safety

2. If someone has very few friends, and has not been dating anyone for a long time, do not assume they are dating someone right now. They probably will at some point, but there are two reasons for this: they want to meet people, and they want to meet people who can keep their secret

If someone is always trying to meet a new person, this is a red flag – in fact, it's a much bigger red flag than most other things that "friend" is used to mean

Also, this is related to #1. The fact that someone is dating someone they met online doesn't mean that they met someone online. They could have met people online in the context of an old relationship that they're trying to get back together in, or they could just be an ass. Be wary, especially if the person in question has not made a commitment to not dating people they met online in the near future

3. If someone you know has gone on to talk about how terrible it was they never got to meet any of the people they met online because no one would go out with them, or how much they want to meet up, then they probably do not wish to meet you in real life

This has the same caveat about commitments to not dating people from the internet as #2

4. Do not ask someone if they would like to "hook up" with you. That's a very creepy way to talk about a date. Especially if you want to know if they are interested in you romantically

5. If someone wants to talk to you about things you've done that "seem cool" but have no context for, just say "no, I don't know why they seem cool" (no offense, I just don't like weird strangers giving me reasons why they like what I do, it's a little creep) and wait for them to figure it out for themselves, or maybe give you a list of things they'd like you to know about

6. Don't send people selfies, especially if they don't seem interested. I'm not sure what the motivation behind this could possibly be, other than "maybe they'll want to look at your face even if they're not attracted to you"

7. If you are not attracted to the person in question, and are trying to meet them for their friendship, do not ask them to do karaoke

I have no idea why this is so common, but it happens like 3x a month
