ty for requesting ♡ fem!reader
Texas gets hot. Unbearable, suffocating heat, arid air that feels as though it's baking you alive paired with the unforgiving beat of the sun on your shoulders. Sorry, Hotch, but you have to wear a dress.
It's a little black thing with respectable sleeves and a less respectable hemline. There's no cleavage on show. Honestly, you could wear it to the courthouse if you needed to, and that's what counts.
"Well, hi, mama," Morgan greets as you drift into the hotel lobby.
"Unprofessional?" you ask, holding the hem in your two hands and pulling it down a touch.
"On you? Absolutely." Morgan's wearing his usual attitude, but even he had the sense to wear a light grey shirt. "Where've you been hiding that one?"
"I'm prepared for anything, Derek, you know that."
Hotch raises his eyebrows when he sees you.
"Too much?" you ask cautiously.
"No. You look nice, Y/N. It's not you I'm thinking about." He suffers in his suit jacket, but you can't imagine he'll wear it much longer. He's a stickler for formality but he's not insane. "Speaking of, where's Reid?"
"We're here!" JJ assures, leading the rest of your team from the breakfast hall. "We were following the air-conditioning. Hey, nice dress. I wish I packed something cooler."
"It has to be hitting one ten," Emily whines.
Spencer follows behind her, not quite looking at you as he begins, "It's an even one hundred farenheit today, it just feels hot because the aridity of the air is…"
Spencer stares at you, his voice fading thin as the edge of a flower petal. He makes a very gentlemanly and extremely entertaining attempt to restrain himself, but his eyes pitch downward to your thighs, your legs as a whole, pupils dragging and catching on the slopes of them.
His gaze shoots back to your eyes. "The air?" you ask softly.
You can feel Hotch's disapproval in the same way you could predict today's heat. Spencer glances at him, and, because he isn't totally socially unable, he steadies himself and says, "You look nice."
"Spencer!" you cheer, your happiness nearly smothering a mixture of sighs and laughs. "Thank you so much, that's so sweet!" You close the distance between you to clasp his arm gently. "You look nice too. I see you've foregone a sweater in the heat. Have you ever thought about wearing a v-neck shirt like Morgan does? You'd look really good, especially your arms."
Speechless, Spencer shakes his head. You pat his shoulder as Hotch shepherd's you out of the hotel and into the sunshine, the agony of a land without air-conditioning distracting your audience. With slightly more privacy, you lean into Spencer's side.
"I know it's not quite right to wear to work but my pencil skirts are all too tight after the last wash. Do you think it's alright?"
A bead of sweat collects at his hairline. "I think it's fine."
"Yeah? I just couldn't stand to be hot again like we were yesterday, even my knee caps felt sweaty. If it gets any hotter I'll have to solve the case in my underwear."
Spencer makes a quiet, strange sound, like a pant or a gasp being choked on. You'd love to say you attribute it to the heat, but you're not that humble.
"We'd still get the job done, wouldn't we?" you ask.
"I don't know what to tell you," Spencer says.
Hotch puts you and Spencer in separate SUVs.

A Sequel (Part 2) to The (Wo)Man Who Can't Be Moved. (Part 1)
Pairings : Natasha Romanoff x Fem!Reader
Summary : Natasha's your ex-girlfriend, she broke up with you without giving you a solid reason as to why. Obviously, you want her back. One problem, she's unofficially dating Bucky Barnes. So you decided to solve it with a little performance.
Warnings : Angst, Fluff, Happy Ending (or is it?😏), swearing, one line used 'her' as reader's pronouns, pls tell me if u see anything else
Word Count : 2.1k
Note : here's pt2 ! pls let my family go now :c
Tumblr media
Natasha.
Natasha didn't want to attend tonight's party. 'Cause the last party she went to was with you. The last party she went to, she was clinging onto your arm. The last party she went to, she slept in your arms.
Unlike you, who always asked if you could be her date for the night, Bucky asked her to be his date for tonight. Normally Natasha wouldn't notice those miniscule things, but it was just so different from you.
Unlike you, who always insisted on picking her up from her room, Bucky just waited for her at the elevator.
Bucky brought her a bouquet of roses when they met at the elevator! You never bought her a bouquet of real roses... cause you always gave her paper ones, ones you knew she would appreciate more since they don't wither.
Bucky asked how he looked and said that Natasha looked perfect to be his date. You always told her she looked amazing, and joked about not looking good enough to be her date.
Bucky bought her a drink and a stronger drink for himself, like a gentleman. You always got the lesser alcoholic ones since you wanted to stay sober enough to take care of her in case she gets drunk.
She hated comparing him to you. But she couldn't help it. His arms just don't compare to yours.
She shook her head to clear away any thoughts about you, wanting to focus on her night with Bucky. She subconsciously searched the crowds for you, but she couldn't find that y/h/c hair that she could always find in the midst of the crowds.
Bucky asked her to dance. They stood in the middle of the makeshift dancefloor. Everyone's eyes were on them, she didn't like it. You always knew she felt uncomfortable being the center of attention. Bucky seemed to like it, though.
She saw how Bucky signaled Steve to sing. Mouthing a song title she wasn't able to read. Steve seemed skeptical at first, but the questioning look from Bucky caused him to concede and sing the song.
When 'Wonderful Tonight' started playing, Natasha's eyes winded. It was your song. The song you always sang to her. The song you two danced together. She's dancing it again, just not with you.
She tried her best to smile, and tried her best to not imagine you as she danced with Bucky.
She remembered how you used to sing the song in her ear as you two slowly danced around the kitchen, at 2am, using the refrigerator light as light, whenever she had nightmares.
"Oh, my darling, you were wonderful tonight" You—Bucky—whispered in her ear as the song came to an end. You—Bucky—kissed her forehead as you two pulled away.
She was going to excuse herself to the bathroom to clear out her thoughts when the next singer caught her attention.
It was you.
I saw you dancing in a crowded room
You look so happy when I'm not with you
You looked so breathtaking, she thought. Oh how she would've loved to arrive and leave with her in your arms. But she couldn't. She was in Bucky's arms.
"Hey, everyone. I hope y'all are having an amazing night. I do hope you enjoy these songs I'm about to play." You said as you clicked the instrumental version of the song you chose, on the tablet.
She couldn't deny how much she missed your voice. How much she longs to hear that voice say those 8 letters she used to hear everyday from you.
But then you saw me, caught you by surprise
A single teardrop falling from your eye
When your eyes met, she didn't know what to feel. She didn't know whether to feel happy, to feel sad, to feel hurt, or to feel angry that she let you go.
That bittersweet smile you gave her, hurt her in ways she didn't even know was possible. She got shot before, she got stabbed, she got punched and kicked multiple times before, but this type of pain is something she's never experienced before.
She wanted to run up to the stage and beg for your forgiveness while hugging you tightly when she saw the single tear falling from your eye.
I don't know why I run away
I made you cry when I run away
She left before the song ended. She ran away, again. She ran to the rooftop. The place where you two always ran together to.
She didn't even notice Bucky following her.
Wanda Immediately approached you when you got off stage. She pulled you into a hug before pointing at the stairway up to the rooftop.
"She's up there. Go follow her, please. Bucky followed her, I'm worried it might not end well for Bucky." She said with a wince, remembering the last time someone tried to approach Natasha while she had so many emotions running.
You bit your lower lip, your hesitation was strong. But the worried look from Wanda was enough to make you run up.
"Leave me alone for a minute, Buck." You heard Natasha say, trying to control her emotions. Her hands are gripping the rails so tightly, her knuckles were turning white.
"What's wrong Tash?" The nickname he used wasn't helping. You used to call her that all the time.
"Please, Bucky, just 5 minutes. Please." She pleaded, you noticed her grip was getting tighter.
"Just tell me what's wrong, Natasha!" He raised his voice. Something you never did in all your years you two dated.
"For fuck's sake I still love her! I still fucking love Y/N so much, that it actually hurts! Is that what you wanted to hear?!" Natasha finally screamed back, turning to face Bucky directly. Tears were rolling down her cheeks.
"Я так скучаю по ней, Bucky, which is stupid cause I was the one who broke her heart. So I have no right to act like it hurts me more, but it still hurts so much." She murmured, not even caring that she was crying in front of Bucky. (translation : I miss her so much.)
"What?" Bucky couldn't believe it. He thought they were both in love, he was even going to ask her to be his girlfriend officially tonight. "Leave, please." Natasha forced herself to calm down, glaring at Bucky as he shamefully walked towards the stairwell where you were.
When Bucky saw you, he tried his best to give you a genuine smile. "Her heart's still yours. Don't lose it." He said as he gave your shoulder a pat and walked away.
You took a deep breath before approaching Natasha.
"Tasha." Just one word from you was enough to gain Natasha's attention. She turned around in surprise, wiping her tears hastily.
"Y/N? What're you doing here?" She tried her best to act calm, using all her spy skills to act collected in front of you. But you both know that you could see right through it.
"Was it true, Natasha? You told Bucky you still love me. Were you telling the truth?" You asked carefully, not wanting to overwhelm her. You leaned your back against the railings beside her, she had her arms leaning against it as she looked at the busy streets below.
"What are you going to do if I said yes?" She answered your question with her own question. You just shrugged, staring up into the stars.
You felt her shiver when a particularly strong wind blew past you. Instinctively, you gave her your jacket.
You could've asked me why I broke your heart
You could've told me that you fell apart
"Why aren't you asking me why I left? Why I ran away? Why aren't you screaming at me? Why aren't you mad at me?" She said after you placed your jacket on her shoulders. She was frustrated at herself for ending things with you. She was also frustrated as to why you weren't hating her like she thinks she deserves.
"What's the point of getting mad? Being mad at you won't get you back, it won't help me understand why you left either." She hated how understanding you were. It made her guilt grow bigger with every word you say.
"I really want to ask something though," She looked at you expectantly, thinking of possible questions you could ask. "Why'd you run away?" You felt her breath hitch when you finally let those words leave your tongue. You were also nervous yourself, not knowing what to expect from your ex-girlfriend.
"I was scared." She took a deep breath before continuing, "You're just too perfect. We were so perfect that it terrified me. Nothing stays that good that long. Everything had consequences. Maybe the consequence for me was that you moved on so quickly."
But you walked past me like I wasn't there
And just pretended like you didn't care
Your brows furrowed. 'You moved on too quickly'?
"But I haven't moved on, Nat. What gave you the idea that I already did?"
"You just walk past me everyday at the compound ever since you returned. I thought you didn't care about it anymore." She finally looked at you, both your eyes meeting like they were always destined to meet.
"'Cause I didn't want to hold you back, Natasha. I thought it'd help us both move on if we acted like nothing happened. I guess it didn't, I'm sorry." You were always so nice. Natasha hated it. She hated the fact that she feels like she's abusing your kindness and that she couldn't do anything about it.
Take me back 'cause I wanna stay
Save your tears for another
"Does that mean you still love me?" Natasha hesitantly asked, biting her lower lip.
"Of course, Tash." You said with a small sad smile. A smile immediately made itsm's way to her face. But when she saw your smile, her's faltered and her brows furrowed.
"I'm assuming there's a 'but' to that sentence?"
You nodded slowly, giving her a smile that made her worries grow.
"I never stopped loving you, Tasha, just... not in the same way as before." Natasha felt her heart drop. No matter how much she tried to stop the tears from falling, she couldn't stop them when she heard those words from you.
"What do you mean, Y/N?"
Yeah, I broke your heart like someone did to mine
And now you won't love me for a second time
You bit your lower lip, trying to find the right words to explain it properly to her.
"I still love you, but you hurt me, Tasha. I understand you got scared, but if you really loved me you would've told me. You should've explained your feelings and worries to me. We could've gotten through that together." You hated seeing her cry, more so being the reason she's crying. But you needed to tell her this, you both needed it to move on.
"I'm sorry. Does that mean we— you don't want me back anymore?" She asked in a voice so quiet you could barely hear it.
I realize that I'm much too late
And you deserve someone better
Your smile broke all her hopes. She started sobbing quietly, something she's never done before. She's a silent crier, so hearing her sob hurts you way more than you expected. You immediately pulled her into a hug, confusing her but her mind was too foggy to even question it. Her arms instinctively went around your neck as she buried her face into the crook of your neck.
Save your tears for another day
"Of course I want you back, silly. I'm just saying that we need to work to get back to where we were before. I won't ever let you go again, Natasha, so please don't let go either." You whispered into her ear. Every part of Natasha came back to life the moment those words left your lips.
You felt her hug you tighter. You continued to whisper comforting words to calm her down, as she whispered promises to you as well.
"You are the only sure thing in a world filled with a thousand doubts, Natalia. Please don't walk away again." You murmured, feeling her nodding her head hastily.
"Never again, my love. You're the only thing that keeps me sane. I love you." She pulled away from the hug to cup your cheeks and close the gap between your lips.
That's when you knew, you're never going to see her in the arms of anyone besides yourself, ever again.
Save your tears for another day (ah)

Hey, I loved your drawing of Matt and Mello watching the Netflix adaptation of the BB case. "Naomi did all the work" so real, I loved that comment, literally L barely did anything to help her and to make it worse he let her work with the criminal himself even after she told him that she didn't feel comfortable working with him and he put her endangered. Very bad L.
It also made me wonder how little Mello reacted to that part of the story when L told it to him. The most logical option is that at that time he did not realize how negligent L had been because, well, even though he is a very smart genius, he was still a child, and his idol was telling him a very interesting case, I doubt he ever noticed or bothered to look into it.
A few years later when he starts writing his novel, he realizes that L did absolutely nothing to solve the case and thinks "L was such a dumbass."
But in case he noticed it at the time, I can't get little Mello out of my head scolding L and questioning his methods in that case.
*After L finishes the story*
Mello: ...So you let this Naomi Misora work with BB, the murderer himself. And you didn't even inform her that he was the murderer.
L: Yes.
Mello: Weren't you worried about her dying? And also if you knew that BB– or "Ryuuzaki" was the culprit, why didn't you arrest him sooner?
L: Naomi is an efficient agent, I trusted her abilities and that she wouldn't let herself be killed that easily. And I knew he was BB from our past connection, but I had no proof that he was the killer so.
Mello: But in the end she did all the work, you didn't do anything.
L:
Mello: You gave her the credit, right?
Anyway, I love your drawings 💖💖
Oh gosh I love the idea of Mello roasting L on the spot after telling his Wara Ningyo Story haha Can someone put this conversation as a "for the better, right?" meme? 😂
I thought a bit about how that whole meeting between L and Mello came to be. And I think L never makes it a big deal when he‘s at Wammy‘s for a visit. But Mello (12 y/o) finds out that L is in the house that day and he catches him when L and Watari are already heading out. Mello has questions about Beyond, who vanished overnight a few months ago "for personal reasons" and pesters L about it, he must know what happened to him, he is L after all. L invites Mello for a piece of cake. Watari notifies Roger that "Justus“ is borrowing Mello for a while. They‘re out In the cafe, L tells Mello all about the Wara Ningyo case, without omitting any of the gruesome details.

Longggg Sherlock & Co plot rant. You have been warned.
I know the creator of Sherlock & Co. found the idea of writing Moriarty into the series intimidating. Plus, not knowing how to do Sherlock's "death" over a podcast and such. But I had an idea.
I love the idea of Professor Moriarty being some sort of hacker/online troll and MORIARTY is the name of a dark web corporation that is trying to hack into the Sherlock & Co. Company to send Sherlock puzzles/cases. You lot know those shady anon hackers on the dark web in films and certain websites? Like that.
I think it would be cool if at first Moriarty leaves hate/weird comments on John's podcasting sites and Watson just thinks it is some hater and thinks nothing of it and deletes the comments. He just grumbles about the comments being a continous thing.
Suddenly the comments stop. Watson isn't complaining about it, he is relieved by that because they were really annoying him. (no matter how many times Sherlock & Mariana told him to ignore them.)
Later on, Watson gets these emails from an unknown email of some shady guy (Moriarty) taunting Sherlock (and the rest of the company) and sending them on goose chase cases (Like the BBC did in that one episode with the phone calls, in a way?)
When Moriarty becomes the main centre of the podcast episodes, instead of Sherlock dying, he gets kidnapped by Moriarty's network. Watson and Mariana embark on and have to solve their most important case yet "Where is Sherlock Holmes?" This would give us some cool dynamics and more screentime between Watson and Mariana.
Watson starts to panick because he thinks he isn't like Sherlock and Sherlock did tell him that he would never be able to figure out stuff the way he could. Mariana is there to support and be there for him. Watson and Mariana have to channel their inner Sherlock Holmes to solve the case.
Idk whether I like the idea of Sherlock expecting this to happen and leave behind clues in some way. I do know though, that I like the idea of the following cases being them trying to work on finding Sherlock.
When they do, Sherlock is banged up and Sherlock tells him "I trusted that you would find me, Watson. You really are a persistent fellow."
And Watson just runs up and hugs him and Mariana joins in and they are just mother henning him like crazy.
Watson tells Sherlock "Don't do that to me again. Don't disappear on me again, you hear?"
And Sherlock is like "It's not like I was expecting to kidnapped, John. Besides, your podcast wouldn't last without me."
Watson just huffs and tells him "No, no, it wouldn't. Just come here," and then goes to hug him again.
Mariana pulls away from them both in realisation and she tells them "Boys, I don't mean to break up our moment, but we still do have one problem."
They both look at her and Sherlock nods and says "Moriarty. He's still out there."
I want it to be implied that they came face to face while Sherlock was kidnapped.
"He? Sherlock, you saw him?" Watson replies.
"Indeed, Watson and I think I know where he'll be waiting next."
*cue Sherlock & Co. End of episode music.*
Anyways, then we get to the episode of the Reichenbach fall, they have their final facedown. Sherlock doesn't die, but Moriarty does fall.
Watson would 100% be grumbling about how he can't pick up any audio over the sound of the falls.
Sherlock and Moriarty would begin fighting and Watson would start describing the scene in a panicked tone.
Sherlock calls over "Not helping, Watson!"
After more sounds of fighting and nervous ramblings from Watson. Sherlock & Moriarty turn the corner of the falls into a blind spot.
All Watson hears and sees is a cry and someone fall and crash into the water.
Watson panicks and shouts "SHERLOCK!" then dashes up to where they were fighting. Sherlock is sitting down and catching his breath.
Sherlock would probably make a smartarse comment like "Ah, John. Glad you make it. Help me up will you?"
"You're not dead."
"Clearly, or else we wouldn't be speaking. Now, would you please help me up?"
"Right, yeah." Watson helps him up.
"So, you, erm, you killed him?"
"I did. His baritsu was lacking, so his demise was inevitable."
"You're a clever, bugger, mate. Now, lift home?"
"Yes, of course."
I think it would be funny if the episode ended like this. They get home and Mariana starts mother-henning them both and she is scolding them both in Spanish about being more careful, how much she cares for them both, etc. Then she hugs them both.
Later on, we cut to them sitting in their chairs and talking about, well, everything.
"It's good to have you home, you know? I- well, Mariana and I both missed you."
"Mm. It's good to be home, Watson. I prefer the smell of our flat to the vile odour of where I was."
"Do you want to talk about it? Because, I, erm, am always here if you need a good talk."
"Not at the moment, Watson, but I will keep that in mind."
Long pause.
"So, Moriarty's network.. is it?-"
"Gone? Mm. No, but it will be taken care of."
"How? They are bloody HUGE, Sherlock. Shouldn't we, I don't know, contact Lestrade? Actually, the whole bloody Scotland Yard?"
"They're useless here, Watson. I'll leave this to the government."
"The government? Sherlock, we both know what they are. The government is not reliable in the slightest."
"Mm. The government you are discussing, yes. They are indeed unreliable, but in this instance I am discussing a WHO not a what."
"Friends in high places?"
"No. Much much worse."
"Oh, erm, an enemy then?"
"Mycroft is not an enemy, but certainly not a friend."
"What the devil is a 'Mycroft'?"
"My brother."
There's a long silence in the audio
"YOUR WHAT!?"
*Cue end of episode music*
I think this concept would be a cool way to be introduced to Mycroft, Watson realising his capibilities since meeting Sherlock, more screentime with Mariana and John's friendship, a way to do the podcast without killing Sherlock and having the time gap between Sherlock's "death" and resurrection, etc.
If you made it to the end of my Sherlock & Co plot concept ramble, good for you. Lol. Anyway, I just thought this would be a cool concept. The rant kinda blended into a fic, but oh well.
Do you lot like this idea? I thought it would be neat.
If John (or even the creator of Sherlock & Co) sees this ever, I will spontaneously combust. 😳
Enjoy my story/plot rant-
(Sorry for any typos, I am sick and half-asleep)
(I am so normal about them, I swear-)

What if Edward had broken up with Bella in a nicer and safer way? Like, maybe in her bedroom and without making her feel completely worthless?
How would Bella have acted during New Moon?
You mean didn't take her out to the middle of the woods where she wouldn't know how to get back/knowing Bella would have seriously injured herself had she tried? And added onto that said, knowingly, exactly what he knew would hurt her the most so she'd give up on him forever and use her every insecurity against her?
Honestly?
Well, the real answer is we won't know because this wasn't what happened. But personally, I don't think it'd make much of a difference.
Edward himself notes that he was surprised at how little effort from him it took to convince Bella that she didn't mean shit to him. He thought he'd have to argue for hours with her because she'd know how much she means to him. However, he only had to say a sentence and she went "oh". This is because Bella already firmly believes this is the case.
She strongly believes that Edward's not in love with her, he only thinks he is, and that she's this temporary mortal distraction who is only interesting to him because of her blood and her silent thoughts. (Damningly, while this is low self-esteem talking, she's not wrong). Bella believes she's not worthy of Edward and that any second now Edward will be sane again and realize "oh, I can do better".
This is why it takes Edward only saying "I'm bored now, it is the nature of immortal creatures such as I" for Bella to go "oh, right, I'm so dumb".
Now, Bella probably would have fought hard if his argument was just "we're not compatible" as Bella would point out that this is all solved if Bella just turns. If Edward tries to insist she has no idea what she's getting into (it's true, she doesn't), she'll say she doesn't care. However, at the end of the day it will boil down to the realization that Edward simply doesn't want her around forever which means she's temporary which means he's done with her and this is him trying to let her go gently.
And since Bella's put all of her self-worth in Edward loving her and validating her existence, no matter how it ends, it won't end well and probably will result in the New Moon disaster we see.
Of course, Edward didn't help.

Tell me everything about how insane Scully is please!
how insane is scully????
you guys. i mad it through a lot of s1-3 and then started doing random episodes. this is LONG and incomplete. but you've been waiting so long already. so, under the cut:
my favorite crazy thing about scully is in the pilot, she's assigned to debunk mulder's work, and in the middle she's ready to run back to the fbi to tell them he's right because of dirt. she's known the man a few days and runs to his room to undress in front of him & run into his arms!! her face buried in his chest. she has him whipped on the first day, chasing after her. and she'll follow him anywhere.
in deep throat, mulder runs off on his own and next thing you know, scully takes another government agent hostage at gunpoint (with his own gun??) to get mulder back. she teases him, calls him crazy. he likes it so much she never stops. sucker.
in squeeze, scully just has to stick with mulder because he said she was right & played with her necklace. she has to know every thought in his head. she calls him to gossip about colton because now they're best friends.
in the jersey devil, scully whines when mulder sends her home alone, bails mulder out of jail, ditches her date the moment mulder pages her, turns down a second date & follows mulder...threatening to hurt him for teasing her. she's told her friends he's cute and tries to justify why he isn't an option. and it isn't because they work together. (as much as we say she's not getting into another relationship with a superior / colleague...she would, also insane behavior)
in ghost in the machine, scully meets jerry and dislikes him instantaneously just because he was mulder's partner (she's his partner). she knows mulder's profile without any doubt in her mind, but she still asks mulder to confirm. she tells mulder to go get a beer, as if she doesn't already know he can't stop (and even if he could, he wouldn't)
in ice, she very nearly attacks hodge for suggesting she's been infected because she was yelling at mulder. she pulls a gun on mulder and refuses to give up on him, she goes in to talk to him alone. she tackles a man twice her size with no hesitation.
in eve, she answers the phone in mulder's room!!! (this is silly but clearly, they never gave a second thought to being in each other's rooms lol)
in fire, she hates phoebe right off the bat. scully knew her game before mulder told her anything, but she asks him questions anyway. she single-handedly solves the case and gets that woman back out of his life...then scares him with a fake accent. she takes the sherlock joke and makes it hers & mulder's. phoebe who?
in e.b.e. she meets the lone gunmen, calls them the most paranoid people she's ever met, then proceeds to become the most paranoid person you've ever met, most paranoid person in the world.
in tooms, she lies to skinner to give mulder an alibi. she participated in an illegal stakeout so mulder wouldn't get himself killed. she calls him fox and tells him he's the only person she'd put herself on the line for. she is completely devoted.
in erlenmeyer flask, she teams up with a man she doesn't trust to get mulder back. she goes into a top security government facility to steal an alien fetus, and figures out the password deep throat didn't tell her about.
in little green men, she sets up a secret meeting with mulder using their little code. she talks about george hale, lets herself into mulder's apartment, hacks his computer, and tracks him down to puerto rico. where they end up running from the military. she can barely keep her hands off him.
when krycek shows up, scully snubs him because he's working with mulder. scully is his partner, she's his friend. she doesn't trust anyone else with him — and she's right.
in duane barry, she inserts herself into the hostage situation, to the point they let her talk to mulder to guide him...as the rest of them have failed. she finds the metal implant, scans it at the grocery check out, correctly surmises what it's for (at least one purpose), and screams for mulder. i also think she manages to get her necklace off so mulder will know he's on the right path when he finds it (someone else pointed this out, idr who i'm sorry!!) she remembers squeeze.
in end game, mulder knows he couldn't tell her about his sister because she would have sacrificed herself. while he's in martha's vineyard (?) she's running around d.c. on her own as she's being followed. doing all the things he taught her to evade them.
in dod kalm, she goes on his unsanctioned trip to the middle of the ocean and forces him to drink the little water they have, refusing to take it for herself. the entire time they're stuck there, she figures out what's happening and that's how the doctors save them & reverse the aging effects.
in anasazi/the blessing way, she's nearly shot and makes sure mulder doesn't go back to his apartment and instead comes to hers. she undresses him and puts him in her bed while she investigates to exonerate him. she shoots mulder and drives him across the country to albert hosteen. she tells teena mulder that mulder is okay, after walking to her mother's house with no shoes to tell maggie mulder is dead and argue with her sister. she attempts regression hypnosis but she can't do it because she doesn't have mulder.
in revelations, god is sending her signs and she believes she's supposed to protect kevin. she gets defensive at mulder's derisiveness toward religion and she doesn't hold it against him. in the end, she doesn't push and goes to confession instead, accepts his help with her coat. it's enough.
in war of the coprophages, she calls mulder all day on their day off. she rationalizes everything he finds. when he starts talking about bambi, she sleeps with the phone in her hand for when he calls again. she doesn't want to hear him talk about another woman but she does it anyway. "are you sure it wasn't a girly scream?" and then she just drives out to meet him because no one investigates with mulder except her. smart is sexy. after he asked her what she was wearing after she spouted off about darwin.
in syzygy, i don't even think i need to say anything here. she's just so insane and i love it. she's jealous & petty & mean, but also very honest about how she's feeling. in the end, they're still in sync but she is going to drive like a maniac because she's still mad.
in grotesque, scully is once again prepared to hate mulder's former boss. she doesn't need to know anything and she yells at this man for how he treats mulder. this is a woman who grew up with brothers for sure.
in pusher, scully doesn't believe mulder when he theorizes about modell's abilities. but the second he's the target, she believes. she doesn't hide her fear for him and she walks into that hospital room blind with only a bulletproof vest on. she doesn't run when he tells her too. she will never leave him.
in home, she's thinking about motherhood and having kids and asks mulder about his family. when he swings his head around to her at the question, she stares right back. i swear it's a challenge.
in the field where i died, she yells at mulder for not telling skinner the truth (she never rats on him). she still goes with him to his regression. she doesn't believe these are past lives, but she takes the information he shared and digs into the archives. she finds the american revolution era names. she tells him she wouldn't change a day.
tunguska/terma: she is held in contempt of congress to give mulder time. she trusts his instincts and not her own. she tells the court about the government conspiracy of men and continuously avoids their questions, pushing forward about the lawless men.
in never again, she likes ed because he's interested, because she can talk openly with him without consequences, because he's a sad man & a little dangerous. but then he's really dangerous. she only goes out with ed because she thinks mulder only cares about the work and not her. she gets a tattoo.
in memento mori, she only tells mulder about her cancer. she chooses to investigate instead of pursue treatment right away. she apologize to skinner. she rights letter after letter to mulder, begging forgiveness & asking him to go on. talking about how she feels him close. when she decides to start treatment, she asks mulder to bring her things & call her mother. in the end, she decides to abandon typical treatment and live with cancer.
in gethsemane/reduxes, she doesn't tell mulder he cancer has metastasized. she continues to work, getting injured on the job. she tells police the dead man in his apartment is mulder, she lies to skinner & the fbi. she runs herself ragged to the point she collapses. she begs mulder to blame her & save himself. she's adamant mulder can't trust skinner, even after skinner was shot because he tried to keep melissa's case open.
in chinga, she has no idea how to take a vacation anymore. she can't ignore the x file she stumbles into and she believes it's the doll. she microwaves a little girl's doll to save a woman.
in pine bluff variant, scully chases after mulder when they lose contact. some unknown pathogen just killed someone. she rewatches the tapes after she's sure she saw mulder let whatshisname get away, but stays silent in the meeting. he won't tell her anything but it doesn't stop her from investigating. she can't believe that he's betraying his country, and hiding anything so big from her. it gets to the point skinner has to tell her and she rails at him & that other guy for endangering mulder. she's his partner!! and she makes more headway in a few days than these other idiots did in weeks. she's relentless.
in tithonus, scully has to work a case without mulder and she hates it. she insists it isn't an x file but i think she knows. she's endeared toward fellig despite herself. she asks 'how can you have too much life?' she knows the pain of dying, of leaving people behind, of not being able to finish everything you started. she can't get enough despite all the pain & struggle. she has things to do, someone she wants to be with & they aren't there yet. and when she's got, and fellig tells her to close her eyes, don't look at him — she does it!! in this vulnerable moment, on the cusp of death, she believes. she believed him almost instantly.
in mulder & scully meet the weremonster, she approaches suspects ALONE. mulder scolds her for it both times. she tells him 'you forget, i'm immortal'
in home again, maggie dies and she loses it. she's sobbing, refusing to let them take maggie, mulder tries to get her to take time and she refuses. it's a stark contrast to her grief in beyond the sea. he can't stop her but he can be with her. we hear her call mulder 'fox' for the first time since tooms.
in the my struggles (idk which one lol) scully is desperate to save mulder. she knows what's coming and she can't lose him. "you need him, and i neee you." the truth is she needs william too, and he's so close now. she never tried to find him to keep him safe (supposedly) but for mulder, she'll take the risk. and maybe stop fighting herself for once. she's unbearably good, but her & mulder are the only ones who can save the world and she can't do it alone. (crazy, crazy, crazy)
other things: scully thinks mulder's porn habit is funny, endearing. she doesn't seem to have any (real) negative thoughts or feelings about it. she argues with him relentlessly about his theories/actions/decisions, but never in front of other people. in front of others, she backs him up, defends him, or stays silent (pine bluff variant). but she will good-naturedly make fun of him to strangers ('he chews the furniture' and something in humbug & quagmire). on friday nights, she stays home cleaning her gun, reading books, reading medical journals & writing for them. she loves jose chung. she believes in the possibility of time travel but not in science's current abilities to achieve it. she remembers every word mulder has ever said (dreams, ftf hallway speech). she literally hangs in his every word and incorporates it into her worldview, her behavior, who she is as a person. scully dedicated herself to mulder in the pilot, before she knew what it meant. and once she did know what it meant, she stayed and stayed and stayed. she believes in him so much, in what he can achieve that it drives her to do crazy things herself. something she always had in her, but now she can let it out. it has a purpose. and dana scully with a purpose is someone you don't mess with and can't be hidden in the shadows (despite the effort of a global conspiracy).

Helpless
Jay Halstead X Wife!Reader Warnings: None? Similar to how Hailey was when Jay left Word Count: 741
You were praying the pain in your heart would stop. That all the hurt you had been through was just a horrible nightmare. But it wasn’t. It was your reality, and you couldn’t just leave it. Piece by piece you could feel yourself shutting down, your walls building high. And for the first Jay wasn’t there to put you back together.
The case you were working on kept getting worse and worse. Following lead after lead, looking into case after case trying to see if there was anything that could get you any closer to solving and closing the case. This was the first case after Jay left, and they could tell you needed him.
Hailey was the first to realize you were struggling. Offering you someone to talk to, but you didn't want to put anymore onto her. Torres was next, not ging you a choice but to talk. He got you a coffee when you were out chasing leads, and you broke down when he asked if you were okay. He told you that it was okay and he was there if you needed him. Kevin and Kim followed soon after that, then Adam. All trying to offer support. Hank and Trudy tried convincing you to sit this one out, but you couldn't. This was your job, and you needed to do it. You also needed the distraction.
But no matter how hard you tried the loneliness crept in whenever you were alone. His absence in your bed, the one you shared. The smell of his cologne fading from your apartment. Your ring only a reminder that he wasn't there with you. Everything was different without him. Every routine changed.  It was like you were back before you and Jay got together. Except this time he was still yours. You hoped at least.
You hadn’t heard from him since he left. No phone call, or letter. It was radio silence. You knew contact would be scarce, but this felt like overkill. You missed your husband but there was nothing you could do to bring him back.
~
After weeks Intelligence was able to solve the case. You had the next few days off. You stayed in bed sobbing. Finally able to fall apart. You were allowed to be upset, but it felt like you should be happy. Happy Jay was doing something good. But you hated it.  Why didn’t he talk to you? Tell you what he was going through? That he was going back into the military? He felt hurt when Mouse reenlisted, why would he keep that from you? You would have supported him, you just wanted him to tell you what he was going through.
After spending all day in bed crying your throat was raw from the sobs. You made your easy to the kitchen, grabbing whiskey. And while it wouldn't soothe the pain in your throat, it would help distract you, even for a short time. It burned going down, but the burn preoccupied your brain for a minute.
You didn’t have a lot, just enough for a light buzz. Deciding that you needed to try calling Jay you grabbed your phone. You knew he wouldn't pick up the phone, and that your buzz was pushing you to do this. But you did it anyway.
The phone rang until you got his voicemail.
“Hey it's Jay, I missed your call but leave a message and I’ll call you back”
Your voice cracked as you began to speak. “Hey, Jay…It's me. I miss you. I know you are probably busy, but I wish I could hear your voice.” your voice cracked more as you spoke. Tears started falling as you continued. “I’m not doing great with you gone. I keep expecting to wake up and you be next to me in bed. That when I walk upstairs at the station you will be talking to the team from behind your desk. But every day I wake up and that doesn't happen.” You whipped the tears that were falling from your eyes.
“It shouldn't be this hard. I miss you and my world has gone dark without your light. I wish you would come home. But I know that’s not fair to ask, or say. But I need you. I love you, Jay. I wish you would talk to me. Goodbye.” You ended the voicemail and started to sob. Hoping he would come back to you soon.

The (ephimeral) success of solo projects on Chapter 2
I wanted to write a post about chapter 2 and Jimin, the "sabotages"... but I don't know if I'm able to sort out the facts and my ideas or judgements about them properly. Nothing is clear to me yet.
There are days when a part of me believes that something is going on with Jimin and Hybe (or BH, I don't know which). But there's another part, the rational part, the part that works as an economist for 20 years, that knows that it doesn't make much sense for a for-profit company to boycott one of its most valuable assets.
In the Executive Boards, and in financial planning, decisions are made on the basis of economical evidence, which is always provided by current numbers (or estimates), not by the heart. Maybe even in the case of BTS there is some sense of fairness, I would say, at the outset. And not an asymmetric distribution according to profit projections.
In the trade-off I find myself in, I would like to share the following thoughts:
- I have recently realised that Chapter 2 is not the chapter of their solo career. It is the chapter of their solo work, which is slightly different.
- Most of them has a short time to promote their work. The average has been a "several weeks" window.
- Their success is therefore somewhat short-lived or ephimeral. It appears and within weeks it seems to fade away, eclipsed by the next in line. The nex king of "k-..."
- There is no intention of promoting a structured solo career, because 1) BTS have said (a million times) that they will be back in 2025, and 2) if we are to take them at their word, the boys will all be joining the military before the end of 2023.
- So, there is no long-term vision to support "some" and not "others".
- The support is focused on a specific work. The only exception to a more continuous commitment has been Suga and his tour.
- Everyone has their budget, their schedule, their activities for the year...
- And yes, there can be different intensities of promotional activities, depending on the defined strategy or budget or goal or whatever (we don't know the whole story because the company doesn't explain anything to us). There is a rumour that some have even put their money into some activities. But I don't know how true that is.
- And I think they all have a say in the design of their promotions, even if they don't design them themselves.
So then....I can't take the agency away from any of them.
They are the best advocates or defenders within the company. And if one of them had less influence, which I doubt, the others would not remain silent without solving the problem. Or how do we think a commitment from the 7 of them to the 7 of them is achieved to keep BTS as a unified group? There are no weak links in this group. And if there were, I wouldn't bet my money that Jimin is one of them.
Once again, there are things that I can't explain and I'd like to know what's going on (the lack of restocking, the split of Spotify streaming, the deletion of sales...). But if there really have been damaging mistakes or strategies for any of them, I hope that when the next contract comes up for renewal, they will sort it out very thoroughly. Cause this cant happen anymore.
To tell you the truth, I blame the company for many things, and one of them - as serious as their lack of planning - is their lack of communication with the fans. BeautifulPeach has talked about this in some of her posts.
At some point in its growth, Hybe became too big to fail, or whatever, and forgot about certain corporate social responsibility obligations. One of them is to talk to its most important stakeholders: the customers, i.e. the fans. And addressing some of their concerns.
Investors are important in listed companies, but customers are important too. Always.
And if they don't see it that way and continue to despise the fans (clients) in that way, then at the end “future is not gonna be ok”.
And yes, I know that K-pop is controversial. It's clear that they can't deal with every rumour, every silly trend that comes out every day on twitter, ships, solos demands, etc. But there are things that they can deal with. And some of the Jimin's events when Face happened are one of them.
A bit of transparency would be appreciated. I expect it, actually, at some point (maybe when this chapter ends).
Maybe there will be things that could be explained as commercial strategy (do they want us to buy Face instead of the single LC, for example? And that's why they're not stocking it again?). But they might also be telling us about certain difficulties. Or about certain forecasting mistakes. Or how they learned from some of them. I'm pretty sure they learned a lot from Jimin's Face era.
I don't think I will be able to judge everything that has happened until at least the end of this year, when all the solo works have been completed/released.
And I'll have to keep listening to Bongo to see if he still talks about how they are more interested in being a company that has groups rather than individual singers. Maybe that is why it seems there's a ceiling to individual success. There is nothing better than capping success with time limitation of activities ("Let's see if that makes the fans forget what solo members are capable of")
And even then, there will be differences between all of them. Quite a lot.
But we will also have to consider that they are different artists with different goals, sensibilities, objectives and situations (let's not forget that JK himself, who now seems quite greedy, has admitted that he needed and enjoyed his free time and Seven had to come along to give him a boost). So we should be careful with the comparison too.
Perhaps Jin will end up getting the most promotions when he comes out, considering how little time he has had. Poor Jin…😔 He had to wait until the end of the year to enlist, despite the bad weather, to give us the Busan concert. It was a commitment to BTS, but it was a short of individual sacrifice too… you know..they do these things for BTS.
I would also like to listen to them (yes, it's a bit ambitious on my part, but I would like to listen to Jimin and his feelings, at the end of this year... will he open up to us?)
In conclusion, I would say that if we are BTS fans and want to remain so, and if we believe in the boys' words .... I would advise us to enjoy every moment they give us for their limited time. Every campaign, every song, every vlive... and try to find an atmosphere of caution given the situation we are in.
And by that I mean that we should also be able to read that we are in the age of solos and akages. All the information about grievances or leaks that comes out usuarlly comes from the same places.
And I'm not saying it's FALSE! Nor do I mean to belittle it! Just that sometimes we should take into account the intentions behind. And before we react, let's consider the source and the context. Look at what happened to the RNX journalist we all spent almost a day reporting on for a bad translation. Or look at how, in less than two weeks, two CCTV vids of Jimin shopping with a friend (one of them clearly with Saeon) suddenly appeared just as it became known that he was going to NY with JK.
Anyway, I will be a bit cautious for now. There are still a few months until the end of the year. A lot can still happen.
Jimin could came back again to us with sth as amazing as Like Crazy. Or even better, an album.
I miss Jimin and want to see him shine again and talking to us.
And I miss jikook……arrrggg

Pokemon AU (panels read right to left, start from the left page)
A list of everyone's teams are (warning: long post):
Shinichi/Conan:
Stoutland: He received it as a Lillipup from his parents and it has been his partner since. It's also a very responsible pokemon and makes sure Shinichi doesn't get into (too much) trouble.
Absol: He caught it in New York during the golden apple case. It's a very gentle pokemon but freaked Ran out when it first appeared.
Scorbunny: It's Conan's pokemon. It randomly started following him around during one of his cases, and he decided to catch it to try and separate Conan from Shinichi since Shinichi 'left' his pokemon with Conan but eventually got attached to it. It's very playful and has very strong kicks.
Ran:
Bewear: It hung around Teitan elementary when it was a Stufful, and Ran begged Shinichi to help her catch it since he was the only one with a pokemon at the time. Her parents were surprised when she brought it home, but it quickly became part of the family. It has a tendency to hug Shinichi a lot, who swears that it wants him dead.
Lopunny: Yukiko gave it to her as a gift before Shinichi's parents left. It's very strong and often accompanies Ran during karate training.
Minccino: It's not technically Ran's as she hasn't caught it, but it lives near the agency and always attempts to clean up Kogoro's messes. Ran's thinking about catching it but is worried that Minccino might not want to be caught since it was initially shy.
Sonoko:
Leavanny: Shinichi and Ran helped her catch it because she wanted a pokemon, and her mother wouldn't let her have one. She didn't like it at first but grew to love it after it saved her from an ursaring. Her mother wouldn't let her keep it at first, but she was stubborn, and eventually, her father convinced her mother to let it stay.
Furfrou: Her father received it during a business trip abroad, but didn't have the time to take care of it so he planned to give it away, but Sonoko begged him to let her keep it. It enjoys going shopping with her.
Meowth: It was Makoto's but it immediately got attached to her and since he goes on a lot of tournaments she offered to take care of it for him. It's protective of her (as all Makoto's pokemon are) which causes her to get a bit annoyed, but it's also very spoiled.
The Detective Boys:
Conan caught them because he believed the detective boys needed pokemon since they may get into some dangerous situations.
Ayumi has an oddish, Mitsuhiko has an elekid, and Genta has a magby. They happened to find the three while playing in a park and Conan decided they'd be a good catch since the three pokemon were already friends.
Eventually, the detective boys each capture a pokemon themselves as well. Ayumi -> Igglybuff Mitsuhiko -> Morelull Genta -> Cubone
Haibara
As Shiho, she didn't have any pokemon, as the BO only saw pokemon as tools/weapons and no members owned one. It took her a while before she opened up to the idea of having one.
Solosis: After deciding to have a pokemon, the detective boys make it their mission to find the perfect one. This lead to them being dragged into a case (as usual) which involved a man who worked a pharmaceutical company and solosis was his pokemon. They solved the man's death, with some assistance from solosis, who was left without trainer at the end of the case, so Haibara decided to take solosis. Since it helped its previous trainer with his job, it made an ideal partner for Haibara.
Gengar: Haibara caught it on her own. It would follow her around sometimes before she caught it (or solosis) and she'd make some analogy to it being a dark shadow of her past, so she fought it with solosis to stop it from following her, but ended up catching it. It ended up being Elena's old pokemon that was eventually released after her death. Although it seems like a scary pokemon, it is very kind and sweet and was following her around to protect her.
Agasa:
Magnemite: One of Agasa's first partners. It's very ditzy and clumsy. It would sometimes make its way to Shinichi's house and shock him in his sleep. It still does that to Conan whenever he comes over.
Klang: A pokemon Agasa caught when he traveled to Europe for a convention. It's a silent pokemon and loves to help Agasa around with his inventions. Shinichi says it's more reliable than Magnemite.
Togedemaru: Agasa recieved it from a trade with Fusae before she moved away. It is very responsible and overall Haibara's favorite due to the fact it puts a lot of effort into ensuring that Agasa maintains a healthy diet. Together, they are his nightmare. Shinichi, Ran, and Sonoko used to play a lot with it, as the detective boys do now.
Heiji:
Arcanine: On one of his 'adventures' as a child, Heiji found a wild Growlithe that was hurt. He snuck out a lot of food and bandages from home to try to help it until his parents found out and took it to a center. He was allowed to keep it as long as he didn't go out alone at night anymore (to which he agreed because you're no alone if you have a pokemon, right? Also, what his dad doesn't know won't hurt him.) As an arcanine, it's very loyal and strong, in which Kazuha says, "like trainer, like pokemon." It's also very playful and can pin Heiji down very easily when roughhousing.
He also has a Braviary and a Sirfech'd (that he received from his father)
Kazuha:
Xatu: When she was a kid, she woke up one morning to a Natu at her window and swore to Heiji that it was a sign. She begged him to help her catch it and they spent the whole week trying to find it again before eventually giving up. When she woke up the next morning, she found it again at her window, and with no hesitation, she threw a pokeball at it and immediately caught it. She calls it her lucky partner. Heiji gets unnerved by its staring.
Kogoro:
Slaking: He caught it as a vigoroth when he was still on the judo team. It's generally a lazy pokemon, but when the situation arises, it's an excellent fighter. Shinichi privately calls it the "second embodiment of laziness" the first being Kogoro himself.
Watchog: It was Eri's. She left it with him to make sure he was taking care of himself, although he thinks it's more of a nagging nuisance instead.
There's more but I probably write that all later.

AFO is Hisashi Midoriya
This is my contribution to the Dad-For-One theory, otherwise known as AFO is Hisashi Midoriya.
There are already plenty of indications and other theories out there to this particular idea, but I have never seen this specific one so I might as well share.
Disclaimer: this might have some manga spoilers, so be warmed!
First and foremost, what do we know about Hisashi Midoriya?
He is married to Inko Midoriya.
He works overseas.
He has a fire breathing quirk.
He is never seen in the backstory, neither the manga or anime.
Just from that we can already make some conclusions. I think some of them have already been floating around so I will make this short.
He could have taken her name in marriage. It would make sense if it was her family name, since Midori means green and Inko does have green hair.
An evil overlord most certainly makes enough money to send home. The cover of working overseas also means he doesn't need to be home and keep up the façade.
I believe it has been mentioned in manga and in the anime that emitter, more specifically fire quirks are the most common ones. So basically, nobody would call it either weak or strong if you are not Endeavour or Dabi. It would also be fairly easy to acquire a quirk like that for someone like AFO
We have no idea what Hisashi Midoriya looks like. Which is uncommon for parents in MHA. We have seen plenty of parents from different students, villains and even teachers in the vigilante spin off. One would think that the father of the main character is kind of important, or if he isn't (as we are led to believe) we would get at least a face. The fact that it is taking so long is certainly suspicious.
Now let's look at what we know about AFO.
He lost a big fight against All Might when Izuku was just a small child, before he received his diagnosis that he was Quirkless.
He is inherently possessive, narcissistic and egoistical.
He does not care for others only for the best way to gain power.
He has only one known weakness to his quirk. Said weakness is, he has to touch someone to steal their quirk.
Let's keep that in mind while we take a look at other facts. What do we know about the Midoriya family?
Izuku Midoriyawas born Quirkless.
He was diagnosed by the same doctor who later made the Nomus.
They are not rich, nor do they have any connections.
Inko Midoriya has a minor attraction quirk.
At first glance this might not mean a lot but in the frame of this theory both of these things shine in a different light.
AFO was born at the dawn of quirks. A time where it wasn't uncommon for someone to be born without a quirk. It wouldn't be far-fetched for him to have a Quirkless child.
If Izuku was indeed his son, it would make sense for him to monitor his development even after the fight against All Might. He must already be working together with the doctor because it was, he who healed AFO from his severe injuries.
What would AFO gain from marrying someone with a weak quirk and without any notable connection?
If AfO had a child with Inko Midoriya there is a possibility that this child could have a quirk which allowed them to pull quirks to them. This would solve AFO one weakness. In return all he would have to do is fly under the radar and pretend to be a good, if absent husband.
Alright this was a lot of speculation. So, let's take a look at Canon again to see if my main claim would make sense for the story.
The main example would be the Todoroki family. Endeavour demonstrates quirk marriage isn't a thing of the past. Which means we have a canon case of this happening.
The most glaring problem in this theory might be that AFO does not really look like Izuku. Then again Izuku does look a lot like his mother except for his hair texture and the freckles. At this point we have seen a younger AFO and still there are no glaring similarities. This might be because AFO wears his hair rather short in all his life stages compared to Izuku. We have also seen AFO mother who had no similarities to Izuku either.
For the time being AFO is kind of dead so he won't be the one confirming this theory. Izuku has seen him before and not mentioned anything. The only one left to say anything is Inko Midoriya.
Horikoshi did mention that there would be a Hizashi Midoriya reveal at some point. So, all we can do is wait and speculate.
Thanks for reading my random thoughts!

Do you want to write a good disabled character?
I've been seeing the topic of disabled characters being thrown around for a while now, especially when it comes to good or bad writing. Usually, the topic is what you shouldn't do. There are a lot of great posts explaining this, and I don't want to repeat what has already been said dozen of times. Instead, today, I would like to give you exemples of what I, as a disabled person, consider to be great writing, and give you further analysis on why do these characters work !
Toph from ATLA
Toph is a blind little girl who feels like she struggles to find her place in the world as her parents prevent her from doing anything but very simple activities as they fear she might get hurt
First of all, Toph is strong. Like, really strong. She's a champion who has won multiple prizes, she loves fighting, and she even became aang's mentor. She's not a cliché of a poor little girl who can't do anything on her own, and we love that.
The relationship with her parents is rather realistic and a good source of conflict for her character. Depending on the disability, family can get either overwhelmingly protective or deny you're struggling completely. Toph is in the first case, and her trying to prove to others and herself that she can do things on her own is excellent for character growth.
Her disability does define her. We have to stop demonizing the fact that yes, some people are disabled. Toph is blind, it's part of her character and she wouldn't be the same without that trait. While characters that aren't defined by their disabilities are a GREAT representation, sometimes it's really nice to see a character whose disability is an inherent part of themselves, especially when they don't care/are proud of it like Toph. Toph has no problem making jokes about it, even mocking people who forget it.
Her bending doesn't magically cure her disability. Too often in fiction, some characters are met with a cure that gets rid of all of their problems. That is not the case for Toph. Her bending does help her quite a lot, but she can't read, draw, she's completely lost when she's flying ... Everything isn't just solved by flipping a switch.
Edward from FMA/FMAB
Edward is an amputee whose goal is to find a solution to help his little brother recover his lost body and recover his own lost arm and leg that he lost after an accident.
While Edward's goal is directly linked with his disability, it doesn't define him completely. Edward mostly feels guilty towards his brother for his mistake, and seems to think more about his safety rather than recovering his own limbs. It's interesting to state since too often, disabled characters tend to have for only goal to "fix themselves"
Slowly throughout the manga/anime, his goals get more and more different, diverging completely from what he used to have in mind. This drives him even further away than him just trying to find a cure.
When you think of Edward, the first word you have in mind probably isn't disabled, despite it being shown in the first episode of both series. This character has a full personality, background, job, ideology and thoughts. He's not just "the disabled one"
Yet, with that in mind, Edward's disability is still a very important part of his life. His automails may malfunction. He needs them to be repaired rather often. The process to get them onto your body is extremely painful and you can see everything around it is very time consuming.
Eda from the Owl House
While Eda's curse isn't exactly like any other real disability (if you can find a way for my chronic pains to turn me into a harpy sign me up), her writing does have many, many similarities to chronic illnesses.
Eda is a women in her mid forties who slowly learns how to live as a criminal witch with two children to take care of and a curse that slowly grows more powerful with time
Eda's curse is something she deeply hates and desperately tries to get rid of, but it isn't something about her that's constantly shoved in our face. It does have consequences, but getting rid of this curse clearly isn't Eda's main goal during the series.
However, with that in mind, the curse does take a huge part of her life. She has to take a medication for it, with huge consequences if she forgets it, she slowly grows weaker until she's completely unable to perform something she used to be so good at (that thing being magic), the presence of the curse has a huge impact on her mental health ...
Another important thing is that this curse doesn't affect just her, but the ones she loves as well. Being unable to talk about her problem makes it difficult for her to form bonds with others, one of the main instances of that being with Raine, her ex-partner. The fact that she hides her pain and distress makes it even worse for everyone and she feels like she can't really ask for help.
Another really important thing that links her to real-life disabilities is that her mother is desperate to find a cure, even going to find quacks who pretend that they can help. At this point, eda doesn't think she can be cured, or at least not by any regular means, and feels distressed to see her mother repeatedly saying that she found a cure. This is something that happens a lot with disabled people and can be a great source of interpersonal conflicts.
Finally, Eda accepting her curse and taking it as a part of herself is a really healthy way to portray acceptation. She's not cured. She doesn't gain the magic she lost back. However, she does gain confidence and happiness with it

Who's the best detective in Danganronpa?
Not bothering with Killing Harmony here.
The only three people in THH that attempt to investigate the murders seriously are Makoto, Kyoko, and Byakuya. Byakuya is easily the worst of the three because he can't empathize with the class on the whole, including whomever the killer may be. This is evidenced by him mistakenly believing Hina killed Sakura.
It's a little less clear who is actually more useful in the class trials between Kyoko and Makoto. Kyoko is the Ultimate Detective so the instinct is to defer to her, whereas Makoto takes the center stage because he's canonically a better speaker (and the player character).
Tumblr media
I do think that THH is trying to effectuate that Kyoko has the cases solved by the trial and depends on Makoto to sway the rest of the class to arriving at the right conclusion. We know she knew that Sayaka framed Makoto and felt that Makoto had to arrive at the conclusion by himself or he wouldn't believe it.
Makoto isn't a slouch at investigation either. He did have to sus out Celeste without Kyoko's help because she wasn't around to see that one occur. We also know that he could have exposed Kyoko's lie in the fifth trial, but chose not to. I wouldn't call that an outright head to head victory for him because Kyoko didn't have the truth on her side.
Similarly, Goodbye Despair really only has three characters doing any sort of serious investigation (Hajime, Chiaki, and Nagito). The difference is that Chiaki isn't a detective and Nagito, despite being a nutjob, usually has the cases figured out before Hajime. Because he doesn't have Kyoko to rely on, I think Hajime is a better detective than Makoto (Chiaki is helpful, but doesn't really solve the cases where it often felt like Kyoko was spoon-feeding Makoto).
So-- detective rankings:
Kyoko
Nagito
Hajime
Makoto
Chiaki
Byakuya
Note: Hifumi, of all people, has a detective moment in the first trial.

People are sometimes surprised when I mention that the unproduced story I regret the most isn't any of the many cancelled FP projects but Steven Hall's Fifty-Fifty, which would have wrapped up some of Big Finish's best character arcs with a conflict between the Seventh and Eighth Doctors at "the moment where 7 went bad".
It would have been the retroactive pinnacle of Wilderness Years, taking its two Doctors with such different characterizations and pitting them against each other. It also … doesn't make a ton of sense. Even taking into account the timey-wimey memory effects of a multi-Doctor event, how could such a dramatic character arc for the Seventh Doctor possibly come and go without the Eighth Doctor – his future self – having any idea?
This question keeps coming up in Doctor Who, and every time the answer feels contrived. Steven Hall would have solved it for Fifty-Fifty by introducing a "Temporal Wish" that allows parts of history to be rewritten without timeline damage. Elsewhere, Big Finish has resorted to hand-waving: every story where characters meet out-of-order has to involve an ad hoc disguise, a memory wipe, or a promise from one of the characters that next time they'll pretend not to have met (🥴). And don't even get me started on "season 6b"!
In what Ingiga cleverly calls Doctor Who: The Return, RTD faced the same question. What if we had more Tenth Doctor stories, not squeezed into any of the well-trodden gaps in his timeline but set after The End of Time – genuinely new stories, taking the character places that it never would've made sense for him to go (such as therapy)?
RTD answered this question twice. Once the regular way, the ad hoc way: David Tennant's contrived return at the end of The Power of the Doctor. And then, emboldened by the Power of the Showrunner, he solved it again – and he solved it for every story, now and forever.
I think down the timeline, they all separated. They all went like that. All the Doctors came back to life with their individual TARDISes. The gift of the Toymaker. And they're all out there traveling around in what I'm calling the Doctorverse. It's the Doctorverse. And I want to create a future in which Sylvester McCoy, he can survive and have an adventure. Because one of the things about The Star Beast is, to get you back and Catherine, we had to jump through so many hoops. Which is great story, but it's like, why can't you just arrive and step out the TARDIS? […] Because this is exactly what Big Finish does. It's exactly what everyone does in their imagination. […] It's time to just kind of open it up and say, they're all out there now.
Or as he put it a different time,
Doctors galore, with infinite possibilities. All Doctors exist. All stories are true.
Gig's latest piece rightly dismisses the "Flowchart" theory of bigeneration, but frankly, I think the fiddly stuff about "fix" vs "fixed" etc. is a red herring. The simple fact is that if Fourteen's post-Giggle memories flow backwards into Fifteen – if Seven's post-TV Movie memories flow backwards into Eight – bigeneration wouldn't solve the Fifty-Fifty problem.
Yes, RTD tries to have his cake and eat it too. In the dream logic of The Giggle, "emotional healing" is a mysterious essence that can be transferred through time independently of memories, just as incinerated roads can magically heal themselves in The Star Beast. But in terms of what RTD's trying to accomplish, in terms of what bigeneration is, I think it's okay to take him at his word.
Speaking of words, the leak called it "bi-regeneration", and even after the episode aired, much of the internet followed suit. But that's not what it's called. It's just bigeneration: not a type of regeneration, an alternative. And indeed, now we have this option – now we have Fourteen, not just Ten – why would we ever go back to playing the timeline-squeezing game? If Big Finish officially untethered itself from the past Doctors' timelines and, say, freed Eight from his interminable death march – would anyone miss it?
Lawrence Miles certainly didn't think so when he advocated a similar untethering 24 years ago.
When you watched Doctor Who as a kid, it kind of lost some of its edge from the start, because you knew for a fact how things were going to turn out. […] I've always felt that the Missing Adventures… or PDAs, or whatever you want to call them… have got a similar problem. The Doctor can't die [or go to therapy – n8.] We know the future, it's not even an issue. That was why I did what I did in Interference. Even if they don't like it, I hope people realize there's a purpose behind it all. It's suppose to justify the existence of the PDAs. From that point on, you can never be sure what the outcome's going to be.
Nobody picked up his suggestion back then, but then again, Miles lacked the Power of the Showrunner. If Tales of the TARDIS' therapeutic dreamscapes are any indication, it won't be long before other writers adopt RTD's in-vision musings as gospel.
So what will happen when Fourteen dies? Will he regenerate? Will he dissolve into sparkles, his ✨emotional healing✨ shooting back in time to become Fifteen? Or like the prior iteration of the "Tenth Doctor happy ending offshoot" idea, is he simply mortal now? The frank answer is that we'll probably never find out: that's simply not the kind of story that bigeneration is meant to tell.
Or maybe RTD's already told us. The quote earlier about "Doctors galore" came from the note accompanying his "Doctor Who and the Time War". That story shows us an Eighth Doctor who survived to the very last days of the Time War, with no War Doctor to be found; it's easy to imagine a bigeneration on Karn not unlike RTD's speculation that "Peter Davison once was left behind on the surface of Androzani and woke up and there was a TARDIS and he carried on having those adventures."
And in the story – released almost seven years after The Night of the Doctor showed us the birth of the War Doctor – Eight struggles, and he succumbs, and he regenerates … into Christopher Eccleston's Nine. Now there's a flowchart that I could get behind.

The lonely prince of the moon 🌙
Tumblr media
Have you made your wish to him today? Did not you know? The Moon Prince can grant wishes, but he asks for one thing in return.
If your desire is to find out more about him, then you will have to give him your patience, because this little boy will not fulfill your wish so easily, how long have you been waiting for this?
Amane and Hanako, two names of the same person. Two versions, same story. It's incredibly contradictory how at the same time he can be such a charismatic boy and so isolated.
But, if we are going to talk about our little dreamer, let's separate him into periods.
Tumblr media
Amane, the shy and introverted boy. He had no friends and didn't seem interested in finding any. He lived alone with his own thoughts. Could this boy be more mysterious? The marks on his skin left a trail of violence without us knowing who was to blame, and even if he was, for Amane there was no guilt.
Tumblr media
The marked boy, the way he looked at the marks, as something he had to bear alone. People shouldn't meddle, that's what he decided.
Tumblr media
Loneliness…
A word that is apparently part of his life, despite being born alongside the person he loved most in life. He was lonely, and didn't seem to feel loved. He wanted to leave Earth, such a bad place for him.
Tumblr media
Amane wanted to conquer the Moon, she was so brilliant, the feeling of welcome she gave him, as if she said that if he could reach her, he would be free, he would be happy.
Tumblr media
The way he found to get to heaven…
He went, but didn't reach the Moon, the Earth pulled him back.
Amane dies and Hanako is born.
Tumblr media
Equally lonely and with a big weight on his back. He had two sins now, that of having killed his own brother and of having taken his own life, at least, that's all we know.
The so fragile and defenseless Amane was suffocated into his chest. And he was trapped for so long that when he resurfaces, Hanako doesn't know how to act.
When does Amane return?
When a little mermaid decides to show him her charms.
Mermaid?
Who was the girl who called him the first time?
He likes to call her Yashiro. I think you know
Tumblr media
The first person who saw him. He wasn't an evil apparition, nor a ghost, nor a strange, perverted boy, he was her friend. Isn't that what she said?
Tumblr media
She was the only one who little by little helped Hanako to show a little of Amane, because even though now he is the great 7 of the 7 mysteries, the great powerful ghost… He is still Amane.
There is a big difference between them. Hanako is extremely charismatic, fun, likes to joke and make stupid jokes. He has good intentions and protects those he loves. And above all, he is not a coward. Even if he made a mistake, he admits his mistake and regrets it.
But, it doesn't end up that way. He is also the person who killed his own brother, he is the person who has good intentions in some cases but solves problems in the wrong way, he uses people to achieve his own goal without thinking about what they will feel.
There is a dark side to him.
And he hates him.
This dark side that we gradually get to know, even if it hides it. And he does it so well it scares me.
People always find justifications for what he does.
He wanted to lock the girl he loves in a fake world without giving her the chance to choose, because he knew she wouldn't want to, and he decided on his own that she would live happily without him.
Good intention, bad execution.
Hanako's dark side became justifiable because people fell in love with him. Because of his dangerous charisma. Because of Amane's fragility, which sometimes reflects on Hanako.
Make no mistake, Hanako didn't stay social after he stopped being Amane Yugi, he likes Yashiro, she was the only person he had any real interest in.
Kou joined the group by force, if you remember how it all started.
Where are Hanako's other friends?
The other supernaturals either respect him or hate him. There is no middle ground.
Why don't Amane and Hanako like the idea of having friends? If there is this charisma if he has this personality that is so easily captivating, then why did he choose that?
To hide the secrets? Because he is afraid of doing something to his own friends and is afraid of losing them?
Because in the PP arc, where the ideal world of the "protagonists" was reflected, did he have friends? Did he want this?
What was stopping him?
Hanako has reflected the waning Moon in his own eyes, a well-lit and beautiful part that draws everyone's attention… And another dark part, that no one can see what it hides….
That sums it up well. The lonely prince of the Moon who wanted to be loved, but was afraid to love too much…. Why?
The boy who only had a short time to live, the one who wasn't going anywhere, the one who pushed his younger brother away just because he wanted to be healthy like him. The boy who cried at night while waiting for his brother to return, who perhaps asked the moon to bring him back. He was alone, but he didn't want to be.
Tumblr media
So when Brother came back, he didn't feel like he was enough. Because of him Amane couldn't help but fear that one day he would leave again, because of him Amane endured things he didn't know he could, because of him Amane committed his greatest sin, or what affects him most, because of him the Amane didn't allow himself to love again.
He didn't deserve to love and be loved. That's what he thought. He didn't deserve to be alive, nor to go to the moon to fulfill his own dreams. He deserved to be alone and suffer for eternity, because nothing he does will take away the guilt.
But he got a new chance.
He is being loved again, or for the first time.
Tumblr media
Even though he's running away, he wants this… He wants to be loved, to be forgiven, he wants to make things right.
All Hanako, or rather Amane, wants is to have a normal life, like everyone else. 🌟

Hello! Can I request a Wednesday x gn!reader? The reader is also working on a novel in the genre of their choice, and when Wednesday finds their notebook, she demands how they were able to complete it so quickly, in which they explain their method: read a chapter per day, write for 15 mins, etc.
They bond over their writing and the investigation? Thanks!
Partners in crime - Wednesday x gn!reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: Wednesday finds your notebook and is intrigued by your writing style, curious on how you managed to write all this in such little time. You end up bonding over your stories and even go out on little murder investigations together, not yet knowing how your story together will go.
Warnings: some spoilers for the show maybe, doesn't have a big impact if you haven't finished the show yet but maybe go do that first if you want to, because of that there are mentions blood and murder
Word count: 1k
A/N: im really unsure if this is how you wanted the story to go so i hope you still like it, any feedback is always welcome and im happy to adjust some things if you like
Requests = open: i had so much fun writing this request and would love to write some more so please send me some, can be for any other characters too!

Ever since the new student Wednesday Addams arrived at Nevermore, life in Jericho hasn't been the same. Exploding statues, blood rain at the RaveN, and a student murdered. You knew Nevermore would be a crazy place to live, but you never expected any of this to happen. In contrary to miss Addams, you didn't intervene in the murder cases, you would rather stick with fictional murders. Or did you?
One thing you really enjoyed was sitting in the nightshade's library late at night, writing stories while listening to some music. Your roommate didn't really appreciate the lights being on in your room and the soft piano music playing in the middle of the night, so that's why you always came down here to write instead. No one to complain about anything, just you and your novel.
One night you were getting ready for bed when you noticed your notebook not being in the spot where you usually left it, realizing you must have forgotten it down in the library when you went there to write earlier. Not wanting anyone else to find it, let alone read it, you made your way to the library to quickly take it back to your dorm. But once you arrived, you saw a mysterious figure wandering through the library with a flashlight in their hands. You thought it would be one of the other nightshade members, but to your surprise it was no one other than Wednesday.
"What are you doing here?", you asked making the girl in all black turn around and shining the flashlight directly into your eyes.
"I could ask you the same thing."
"Yeah, well I happen to be part of the nightshades so I'm allowed to be here." You try to cover your eyes a bit due to the bright light in your face, noticing your notebook in Wednesday's hand. "Is that my notebook?", you say pointing to the book.
"So you're the one that wrote this, I was wondering which other student spends their time on writing murder mysteries. Looks like I'm not the only one being inspired by the unsolved problems this town has. If I wasn't too occupied with solving the murder cases all by myself, maybe I would enjoy reading into this more."
Wednesday says while moving the flashlight away from your face, walking over and handig you your notebook. As much as you hated her reading your notebook without permission, you couldn't help but smile at her compliment about your novel. The Wednesday Addams would like to read more of your stories, everyone at school knew she was an author herself so this was a huge accomplishment to you. But of course she wouldn't actually read it with her busy schedule of snooping around town and hunting monsters night and day.
"How did you do it though? I couldn't help but notice the dates of your chapters, seeing how fast you write all your chapters."
The monotone girl asked, she was intrigued by your method and writing style. Some could say she even sounded a bit impressed, but she would never admit that to anyone.
"I basically try to read a chapter every day and then write for 15 minutes, and then I just repeat that. Listing to music that match the vibe of what I'm writing also helps me. If you want I could show you how I do it some other time? Or maybe we could have a writing session together and help one another with writing their novel. I kind of have to get going now but I'm happy to show you another day though." You propose, unsure of how she would respond to the invitation. You didn't think she would ever say yes to that, but as usual, Wednesday is full of surprises.
———————
So there you were, sitting in Wednesday's room while talking about your novels. This was now the seventh time you met up with her to write together, the previous writing sessions were a great success and Wednesday kind of enjoyed your company. After spending loads of time together, you became quite close and you even consider her to be one of your closest friends. Your shared interests being one of the reasons you've bonded really well over the past couple of weeks. But writing wasn't your only activity with her these days, she's invited you to accompany her on multiple murder investigations, you became her partner in crime. Quite literally since you've broken into houses together, tamper with police evidence and dug up graves from the cemetery in Jericho.
You weren't sure about joining her on her investigations at first, but you didn't protest at the thought of solving mysteries together. Although you never imagined you would end up in a police cell with her for one night, getting scolded by Ms. Weems or actually figuring out who the hyde and it's master were, you wouldn't want to trade your adventures with Wednesday for anything in the world. If you could do it all again, you wouldn't think twice to say yes.
———————
"Do you think people will like this? I mean it's a little gruesome don't you think? And what if no one ends up buying it?", you basically bombarded her with questions. Being very uncertain of your novel.
"I couldn't care less about what people think of our novel, and a novel can never be too gruesome. I would even read this to little children if I wasn't highly allergic to them. You need to stop worrying about the novel and how many people will end up reading it. Besides, the amount of people reading this doesn't define the quality of the story. It's a great success in my eyes, that's all that matters.", Wednesday said in her usual emotionless tone.
She was definitely right about the great success part. Once your novel was published, thriller fans from all over the world showed their love for the story. After the great success of your novel, a sequel was quick to follow which didn't let the readers down at all. The only thing the readers weren't aware of, was that it was based on your personal investigations and adventures with Wednesday that happened during your time at Nevermore. Hence the title, partners in crime.
The end?

could Anthy have walked out of Ohtori from episode one?
essay under the cut.
my basic answer to this question is no, but there's a lot of complexity behind that no.
when Utena first encounters Anthy, she immediately thinks there's something wrong with her and tries to talk her out of the whole "Rose Bride" business. while Utena makes several crucial mistakes during this early stage of their relationship, her instinct isn't necessarily wrong. if you met someone who said their inherent position in life was to be a slave to the will of others, wouldn't you have some concerns?
by episode 23, Utena has begun to understand Anthy better, to feel the magnitude of her plight.
Tumblr media
such moments have long since led me to the conclusion that Anthy couldn't leave Ohtori until the final episode. however, that doesn't mean that I knew what "not being able to leave" truly implied. here's the thoughts I've come up with.
in life, we all have times when we know what we should do to improve our circumstances, but we find that we simply cannot do it. the barrier to "not being able to do something" is not physical, not easily explainable. I'll give an example from my life. I spent a couple years as an alcoholic. obviously, there was a very simple solution to this problem: stop drinking. but I just couldn't do it. my life was pretty bad at the time, but I've gotten through other bad times without guzzling alcohol. during the course of my addiction, it looked like I wasn't making any progress. then one day I just stopped. people say you're an alcoholic for life, but I don't believe that. I know I'm done; it's over.
I've started to take Anthy's character as, in part, a grand metaphor for being in such a position. a simple action, one that you're physically capable of, would solve everything. but you can't do it. until one day you can.
that's not the whole answer to the Anthy question, of course. the show has a system, a social landscape, which has to be taken into account. there's the swords of hate, there's Akio. Anthy is truly oppressed, and so, even though she eventually reveals that she's capable of walking out, to give such an explanation is facile. I gave an example of a situation where I knew what I needed to do to get my life together; for Anthy, it's more of a case where she cannot even believe that her life could change. either leaving Ohtori doesn't occur to her, or she thinks it's impossible.
taking a more thematic approach, Anthy is a representation of the suppression of women. she's in an impossible situation; she constantly denies her own agency; she has been so badly hurt that she is afraid to be herself in any capacity. so the question of "could Anthy just have left Ohtori from the start?" could be rephrased as "can women just shake off their socialization?" Utena, who attempts to do just that, can't escape from it in the end either.
but the reason RGU is such a beloved story is because it is about liberation from gendered socialization, as well as other mental prisons. with this in mind, I think Anthy not being able to leave at the start was necessary for the narrative. it can't be easy for her to leave, or there's no story, and it won't feel real.
the process of liberation isn't easy either, or necessarily explicable. the show centers on the dueling game, a system which treats Anthy as an object, which encourages conflict and possession. the characters always seem to fail at their objectives. they never resolve their complexes--they only spend them out. Utena wins and wins, and although she is loving, she is not prying Anthy out of her coffin. Ikuhara once described the final arc as being full of stories that are wrong. there doesn't appear to be any light at the end of the tunnel.
Tumblr media
right when you think Utena and Anthy have achieved solidarity, that they both want the same thing, Anthy reveals another of her faces, stabbing Utena in the back and acquiescing to her fate yet again. it's only then, after every single option has been eliminated, that the revolution can occur. strangely, the power of the final episode comes from the "empty movement" of the previous 38. all along, it looked like no progress was being made. Miki and Kozue break apart almost as soon as they've reached an understanding. Touga challenges Utena to another duel, despite knowing that that's what Akio wants. Nanami won't let go of the spotlight she so craves. Juri can do nothing but surrender. and yet.. and yet.
a lot of fans view Ohtori as a bad place, an evil place. certainly, evil happens there. Akio is at the helm, an embodiment of the sick childishness of an adult who refuses to grow up. but I don't know if Ohtori is evil. it provides the setting for the process of liberation to occur. staying there is the problem. but perhaps for Anthy, and for the other characters, Ohtori served as the shell--a thing of protection--which allowed them to reach adulthood and emerge into the world. the dueling game was all a grand play which gave them an outlet for their issues, a testing ground to be left behind when they were ready. through failure, they found out that what they really wanted was something beyond their imagination. they struggled and fought with one another, only to find out that underneath at all, there was love, unlooked for, rising from shared alienation.
Tumblr media
let's put it one more way: Anthy could not leave Ohtori from the start, because she was still a child, no matter how jaded she was. she hid her child-self away long ago and then forgot it was there. when that child woke up, she found that she had a friend who wanted to go out into the real world with her. that was all she needed to become an adult, and so, at last, she left Ohtori for good, a whole person. in the words of Ikuhara:
The prince chose to sleep on, and the princess chose to wake up. At the top of that tall tower, the princess bid farewell to the prince. No - she wasn’t the princess any longer. She quit being “a person (thing) ruled by someone.” The victory bells rang, but there was no “tower (rule)” beyond them now. She’d learned where freedom lay. She crossed the threshold of that “Door of Revolution” which had always been closed for her before, and began walking. The “girls’ revolution” lay in the girl’s future.
