The bass of the booming music fills out the entire room and runs through your body to make for a stuffy atmosphere. People are drinking and dancing all around or sitting to the side to either attempt conversation over the noise or making out. And you would lie if you would ask yourself why you were here. Despite belonging to the ´popular crowd´ at Oxford by extension this wasn´t your usual scene. Yet when your friend begged for you to come out to the Halloween party thrown by some students, you decided to indulge her. Ignoring the way, she wiggled her eyebrows as she mentioned that there would be more than enough cute boys attending to get your mind away from the bits that you hated about going out. However, your face does begin to burn the smallest bit at the thought. You are aware that she really means that one specific boy, that she had seen you looking at for weeks now. One of the only things that made you truly like every other girl on campus. Felix Catton. Yet how could you not. Whenever you saw him, he was smiling so genuinely. He was kind and surprisingly smart and sure he had that old money not having to care about anything vibe surrounding him, but no one was entirely free of fault. So, what? You are convinced you have never seen your friend smile brighter than in the moment you agree to go. Except for maybe when she more or less drags you along to look for matching costumes and finally finds the one. It´s stereotypical almost. Her as a devil and you as an angel, but you don´t complain about that. With a bit of luck, it will give you the benefit of getting lost in the masses. When it came to parties, people always seemed to go crazy. Going all out for the event. No matter if it was Halloween, Christmas or any other occasion. Even if it was just a random weekend. You highly doubt some of them even spend half of the energy they put into partying in studying, but luckily that wasn´t your problem. Your problem was the insufferable pain spreading slowly from the metatarsals throughout the whole foot, caused by the high heels you had been handed to wear along with the costume and the incessant dancing.

Yet you don´t get a break either. Right as you manage to convince your friend to take a break and sit down at the side to get a drink, you get approached by an impossibly tall figure, but even in the flickering lights and with the cowboy hat pulled down to hide his eyes you know instantly who it is. Felix gives you one of his signature, and to your detriment very charming, half smiles.

“Hey.” He says just loud enough to be heard over the music.

Even over the smell of sweat from the people around you you can detect his aftershave. One of the most alluring scents in the world.

“H-hey.” You answer though you can´t hide the stutter, giving away the surprise at him talking to you. Something that had never happened before and you thought scientifically impossible of ever happening, but here you were.

“You wanna dance?” Felix holds out his hand towards you, to be able to pull you onto the dancefloor should you accept his request. Unsure what to do you look back at your friend, who nods enthusiastically and holds both her thumbs up to signal that she would be fine on her own.

“Yeah, sure!” You smile widely at him and take his hand.

The next thing you know is being surrounded by people as you get pulled close Felix´s body. He guides your hips with his large hands to sway from side to side to the beat of the music that now vibrates all throughout your body. All the pain and tiredness from before is forgotten as you feel the vibration from the improvised dancefloor through the soles of your feet and up your spine and the firm grip Felix has on your body. You let him lead you willingly until the two of you are close enough to breathe in the air that the other has breathed out. You look up into his eyes only to find them already looking down at your lips. You pull your lower lip between your teeth and turn around in his touch to dance up on him some more, rubbing your backside against his front. As you do so, you can feel his excitement fit snuggly between your ass cheeks. One of your hand sneaks up to take it´s place in his neck, pulling him down ever so slightly.

Felix gets the hint and leans down the rest of the way himself to meet your lips with his. The kiss only lasts for a short moment, but the way he nips at your lower lip has you craving more instantly. How could you not be instantly hooked on the feeling his impossibly large hand holding your face by the chin. The room around you gets cut off from the little bubble you are in when you turn around again to press your chest to his, your hands cupping his face to keep him close, but no matter how much you try to stay away from him just to tease, you fail. Even with the added height that the heels give you, you have to stand up on your tiptoes to claim his lips again. This one lasts longer, each of you pushing and rubbing your bodies against each other as it goes on, getting more and more worked up. All you can feel is his stubble underneath your palms and his hardness press against your lower stomach. The noise, the people it all gets relocated to the furthest place in your brain. There is only him and you for the time your lips crush together, tongues exploring each other’s mouths until you feel like you know it like the back of your hands. When you part, your panties are staining heavily and his pants couldn´t possibly get any tighter. Your eyes straying upwards to the hat he wears gives you an idea.

You steal the cowboy hat from his head onto your own and smile at him, with him laughing back at you as it slides down from being a bit too big.

“Do you know the cowboy hat rule?” He mischievously mutters into your ear.

“Of course, I do. If you steal a cowboy’s hat, you have to ride him.” You recount the rule, running your hand over his shirt up and down his chest.

“So… Do you want to go to your dorm or mine?” Felix ponders as he takes both of your hands into his ready to lead you away.

“Let´s do yours.” You answer almost a beat too fast, making him chuckle again.

“I´m starting to think that you and your friend should have switched costumes. You are at least only half the angel you dressed up as.” He jokes, but every one of his words lights the fire of need in your core further.

Multiple times along the way to his dorm you two stop just to make out for a few moments before being able to continue. Even after you leave the initial party the air between you continues to stay thick to a point of almost being unbreathable. The only breaks of air you get when his lips are on yours. It also serves well to work the two of you up even further.

When you do finally arrive at the destination, Felix cages you up against the door with his much taller frame.

“Finally.” You breathe out in relief.

“I don´t think I would have been able to hold back another minute.” Felix agrees. “I would have had to fuck you right in the middle of the hallway.”

You poorly bite back a moan at the thought, letting your head rest against the wood of the door to give him more space as he begins to trail his lips down your neck.

“You like that thought, hm? What a dirty girl.” He acknowledges your reaction.

“Technically we still are in the hallway.” You giggle in response. “So, we haven´t entirely made it yet.”

Felix lays a hand on the small of your back to stop you from falling and with the other opens the door behind you. Walking you inside like this, your eyes are captured by his. The only indication for where you are is when your legs bump against the bed. Turning the two of you around, you gently push Felix to sit on the edge of the mattress. Giving him a show of undressing yourself, while he impatiently disposes of his shirt, touching every new patch of skin that you expose of yourself. Left in only your panties, you kneel between his legs to open the button of his jeans, pulling them down along with his boxers. As you climb onto his lap to straddle his hips, you feel Felix grab onto your hips once more. Fingertips digging into your skin from the sheer neediness of the touch.

The next morning, you wake up with a pounding headache and a ringing in your ears, but also deeply satisfied with one of Felix´s long arms laid over your middle. It seems as if he is still sound asleep, chest rising deeply and regularly, and even more angel faced than when he was awake. Carefully, you place his hand on top of the blanket that hangs loosely around his hips while you stand up. Hurrying around the room as quietly as possible to get dressed and out of there before Felix catches you. You are in such a hurry that you don´t hear the rustling of bedsheets behind you.

“Leaving already?” Comes the muffled, bleary voice through the pillow. Signalling that your efforts had been futile.

“Y-yeah.” You zip up the dress and turn slowly to face him. “I thought you were still asleep.”

“And yet here I am, awake.” He takes in a deep breath and turns his body to face you as well. Letting the blanket slide further down in the process. “I know you were just about to grab the rest of your costume and sneak out, but how would you feel about being invited to a cup of coffee or tea or whatever?”

The offer floors you quite a bit. Thinking about it for a second with what feels like only half of your usual brain power however leads to the same answer any other day or circumstance would have lead to. “Uh, sure. I´d like that.”

AITA for unfollowing someone on Twitter without warning?

Ok I know this is silly, it's low stakes but here goes.

I unexpectedly became fairly popular in a smallish fandom after some of my art was shared on Twitter. I don't like Twitter for fandom but it really boosted my audience so I joined up. I mostly stayed quiet over there because there was a lot of infighting and I just generally didn't feel "safe". It felt like if I expressed any opinions at all I'd run the risk of being cancelled. So I'd post my work and periodically engage but I didn't really make friends.

There was this one poster who had gotten pretty big in the fandom on Twitter. We interacted through DMs a few times. We were friendly but I wouldn't say we were friends. I didn't get very personal with them. I liked some of the things they made, but they were younger than me and I didn't really match their vibe.

This person was involved in some things that I personally found distasteful, but weren't exactly wrong. I won't go into specifics but it was fairly low stakes "rude" behavior that I just didn't like. I didn't feel like I should "call them out", first because we weren't really close and second because none of it was really that bad. I try to be a live and let live sort of person.

I've been on Tumblr for a long time and before the update that shows you in notifications if someone is your mutual, following/unfollowing wasn't that big a deal here. It was basically impossible to tell if a specific person had unfollowed you and me and most of the people I know here pretty much ignored Tumblr follow counts and never paid attention to who was coming and going.

This person on Twitter was starting to annoy me every time I saw their icon on my TL. again, they hadn't done anything "wrong", I just wasn't vibing.

So I unfollowed them. I just didn't want to see their stuff anymore.

They immediately noticed and posted about how nasty it was to unfollow someone without telling them why (Twitter showed me their posts about it bc someone else I follow was replying to them) and how I could have at least softblocked them and how it was a misuse of my influence as a BNF (which I never thought I was or claimed to be).

I didn't know what softblocking was I didn't know I could mute somebody. I thought it was just follow or unfollow and I thought they'd never notice.

I saw that they were upset but I felt going to their DMs to say that I unfollowed because I didn't like their vibe would be more upsetting than just leaving it alone. They clearly disagreed.

So AITA for unfollowing and not saying why?

hey i'm chance! i've done a writeblr intro recently but i didn't like it, so this is take 2. here's the old one.

i tend to swear both on here and in my writing, so if you're sensitive to that, i don't think my blog or work is for you. i also use the word 'queer' a lot since i self-identify as such, when i do choose to self-identify.

i'm interested in so much, which would be impossible to fully state. there are so many new things out there and i love learning about them all!! this blog is mainly for writing but i'm not strict on that.

i also am pretty sure i'm neurodivergent (no diagnosis or anything yet) and tend to delve into hyper-fixations for weeks at a time. if i haven't posted for a while, it's probably because of one of my other hyper-fixations or school.

i'm going to college for my bachelor's in graphic design, which might make my responses during the school year delayed.

i'm always open to ask or tag games!! it might take me a few to respond but i'll respond.

Human Wally Darling x Reader with Misophonia Headcanons

Brought to you by: Me being angry at literally every noise in my life rn (especially snoring). So this is mostly based on my own experiences.

TW: Anxiety, Irritation, Misophonia (Emotional Responses to Certain Noises)

It's going to take him a bit to realize what is going on. Wally can relate to misophonia, with him getting extremely upset by the sounds of cars. The only way he's able to drive his car is if he plays loud music. It's just... Really difficult for him to tell how other people are feeling and what they're thinking. So, although he can understand, he will have a hard time telling that you have misophonia, unless you have an extreme reaction to your trigger noises. And by extreme, I mean EXTREME. The only other way he'd figure it out is if you just tell him straight up that you have it.

It also depends on what your trigger noises are. If it's something like chewing or mouth sounds, it might take him a while to ask you about your reaction, simply because he'd probably be eating at the moment (possibly with friends, if it's at a restaurant or party). So he'd wait until he's done with his food before talking to you. If it's the sound of a clock ticking, or another environmental noise, he would most likely try to get you out of the area as fast as possible. Basically, any trigger noises made by a person might take a bit longer to be addressed than an environmental one. He's just more accustomed to reacting to one noise type than the other.

Once Wally realizes that you have misophonia, he's on the case! He'd be ready to give you as many things as he can to help you out. From white noise machines, noise-cancelling headphones or earplugs, and whatever else he can to help you. Even if you already have a pair, he'll still give you those headphones. He has a few extra pairs, all with different colors. So, a few extra for yourself wouldn't hurt! You can make sure they match your outfit or something.

If he can help it, he will make sure Home is a safe place for you away from your trigger sounds. If he can't get rid of the noise, be it that it is physically impossible to do so, or other people are present and the noise is made by people, he will do his best to check in on you. If stress toys can help you calm down, he will buy a whole basket of them, and keep them right in the living room! If you want a safe room to go to to destress, he'll designate a specific room for you to go to and make it as quiet as he possibly can.

If somebody is antagonizing you, be it by purposefully making noises that upset you or even simply saying that you are overreacting, Wally will be by your side in an instant. It isn't often that he is genuinely intimidating, especially on purpose, but these will be one of the few moments that he is. He doesn't even say or do anything outwardly threatening. He kind of just... smiles, standing still, with this odd vibe. Then, next thing you know, that person never bothers you, ever again!

Wally wants to make sure his neighbor and friend feels as safe as possible around him! Just ask, then he will do whatever he can to help.

giving reijean complete birth charts

i make fun of yams for making frankly the majority of the 104th and the warrior unit aries and leo suns, including Jean and Reiner (would just say "fire signs," but he doesn't seem to gravitate toward sagittarius birthdays). but just because this cast is lousy with the same sun sign doesn't mean they're identical to their comrades! the differences (and friction of similarity) come from everyone's rising sign, which contextualizes the sun for the individual.

this project requires three bold executive decisions: (1) birth times, (2) birth years as proxy for 832-35, and (3) birth location as proxy for liberio and paradis.

birth times, to give us their rising signs. this makes up the majority of this post. besides the above reason, sun + ascendant also tells us if the person was born in the day or night since the ascendant is the sign on the eastern horizon at time of birth. someone born at/around sunrise has the same sun and rising sign, for example.

851 in AoT = 1853 in our world. what about every other planet? astrology is not like MBTI; we don't plug in values willy nilly (my killjoy pet peeve? ppl hc'ing moon signs that are physically, astronomically impossible; moon phases and thus moon signs describe sun-moon aspects). i have to pick a real-world ephemeris range in order to limit my freedom of choice to just rising signs. to advance my own indulgent new historicist reading, i'm looking at ephemerides from the 1830s to fill in the rest of these charts, matching the survey corps repo'ing the marleyan scouting ship to the arrival of the perry expedition in the ryukyu islands.

kinda crazy decision here, but liberio = macau, the walls = osaka. the world of AoT is ours upside-down, sure, but the opposite latitude of madagascar is like, saudi arabia, which i don't think this matches because of climate, and iseyama pretty clearly conceives of paradis with more than two northern hemisphere seasons (the leaves on the tree on the hill). these city choices betray my own research interests, but the antagonism between paradis and marley across a narrow sea feels more like japan vs like all of east asia (including russia) throughout history, but especially the late 19th and early 20th centuries. physically, paradis' northeastern position next to marley (longitude) matters a lot. it's why the birth charts of ppl from northern europe are so weird if you use quadrant house systems.

right away, the 1830s give us the outer/generational planets, where Reiner's 2-3 years seniority does make difference for uranus, the fastest-moving outer: they share pluto in aries and neptune in capricorn, but Reiner's uranus is in aquarius and Jean's is in pisces. i don't rly use these unless they make close contact w inner planets though

specific to reijean / what is fanon at this point

Jean's birth year is pretty unambiguous to me with him and Eren as foils: 835, or 1837.

i assume the cadet corps disbands and assembles each spring. winter happens between the reclamation of wall maria and the SC reaching the sea, which puts the events of seasons 1-2 and s3p1 around april or may, and the return to shiganshina arc in august or september. meaning, Jean and Eren just turned 15.

if Reiner is 17 when the 104th disbanded, he's actually two years and four months older than Jean and Eren; for most of the year (august through march), he seems three years older!! that means he spends his 18th birthday w fellow bday boy Zeke, plus Pieck on aug. 4 :) granted they probably spent that time planning to kill the whole SC, but i like to think Bertie threw them a party :)

birth time / rising sign considerations

do they have a day or night vibe? deadass. briefly, each light "leads" a sect of planets that are strengthened if their leader is in charge. sun = jupiter and saturn and moon = venus and mars; mercury has no allegiance, can go either way (because of mythology; mercury/hermes has to traverse every realm as a messenger). this mitigates "bad" placements or sabotages "good" ones.

also vibe-based: each of the seven classical planets (inner sailor senshi + saturn) traditionally rules two signs, while the moon rules cancer and the sun rules leo. this is often used phrenologically (for racism), but seeing as these men are lines and iseyama speaks about designing them, i think it is okay.

where is person A's sun in person B's chart? and vice versa, and same applies for rising signs and their rulers. for relationships, astrologers sometimes use this to indicate where/how/when partners meet each other.

first glance

from midnight to midnight, the moon is always in gemini; last quarter moon (waning).

both benefics (nice planets that "bring good fortune") are undignified, or in signs that do not serve them; the signs are enemy territory. could you say that's a grand metaphor for RBA on paradis, or liberio on marley? perhaps. for Reiner, jupiter is in gemini (detrimented, and conjoined with mars) and venus is in virgo (fallen). both of these are mercury-ruled signs; aka that flighty little bitch of a planet with questionable loyalties. hmmmmm!!!

but saturn is pretty happy (exalted) in libra.

rising sign impulses

right away, he's one of the most diurnal 🌞 men i've ever seen. yams said in some guidebook that he drew him to look like someone "destined for great things," or something to that effect... and probably like, mere months later, he published chapter 97. so yams is a sicko who loves irony. Reiner is a golden, heroic figure until he isn't, like fuckin HELOS i guess, or apollo...

day birth limits our range to leo through capricorn, with some wiggle room in the first few degrees of aquarius; his chart ruler can be literally any option but the moon

because of his unfortunate benefics and the burden of identity, my favorites are: taurus, libra, sag, or leo rising, so he's ruled by either venus, jupiter, or the sun.

houses that feel reiner

6th house: physical labor, the body in service to someone else's interests

8th house: death, enemies (lol), inheritance (i mean come On); wealth gained through other's deaths—take it as eating the previous Armored, or his survivor's guilt re: Marcel and Bertie...

9th house: long-distance travel, leaving home, higher education

12th house: my favorite house, i am biased, but it's a house of like, sickness, loss, isolation, "self-undoing"; shit Jean has no tolerance for. suicidal blockhead behavior.

first glance

the moon is always in taurus; crescent moon (waxing).

he has an aries stellium (a cluster of planets all in the same sign), which Eren doesn't—he's actually more aries than Eren, who is "secretly" very piscean. Jean's sun (exalted), mercury, venus (detriment), and pluto are all here.

for Jean, the sun is conjoined pluto within 2 degrees (makes us twinsies; i have a sun-pluto square).

he has a fixed sign t-square: taurus moon, leo mars, and aquarius neptune.

Jean's venus is opposite Reiner's saturn: rich and dramatic, arguably negative, but i think it can be good for them because of their different conditions in each chart. Jean's venus hates being in aries, and looks across the way to libra, where it wants to be, where Reiner's saturn is. it's like Reiner can pull out Jean's ooey gooey feelings that are usually obscured by aries, or come out as just carnal aggression. saturn can be patient with all of that, and i think Reiner finds it cute. venus in aries is very fwb/didn't-know-we-were-dating; saturn in libra is more quiet and reliable, to a point—he will get so frustrated!

they both have jupiter-mars conjunctions that are sextile to one another; they're hot separately and together???? i seriously led with japanese history for picking their fake birth years, i didn't know the sky would say they are hot and have great sex. more than that, a sextile is actually... pretty chill and comfortable? they just click, it's more about being in sync, physically (mars) and philosophically (jupiter).

i like Venus because it feels softer and smaller than jupiter 🥺 e.g., between the two benefics, Venus is a "personal" planet and Jupiter is "social." Jupiter has to be too many things; everyone expects everything from it, the warrior candidates and younger members of the 104th look up to Reiner, he's "Marley's shield," karina burdens him with "uniting their family" (her marleyan citizenship); but he actually isn't all that and isn't suited to it... and I think only people who really really know him, e.g. have strong bullshit meters, know that. imo gabi is getting there early on, since she tells him she can tell he's lying about something, and she and jean are both later decan aries suns...!

i clearly like giving Reiner cottagecore dreams, a small and warm life; as a boy he wanted a nuclear family, and even in the dregs of his mental health, he clung on for the warrior kids. his actual ambitions are just caring and maybe, even more ambitiously, being cared for, and I think that is true to him, not just his Marcel persona.

the 12th house is miserable!! love it there. my more nuanced explanation is it's kind of floating above it all, seeing the relativity of everything, which can feel like disillusionment or liberation or both: Paradis seriously upset his understanding of the world.

Venus doesn't like Virgo/Virgo doesn't care for Venus because there is something quite detached, sterile about Virgo. Virgo is, for Reiner, years of propaganda, habit, "warrior" versus "soldier," all watchwords and reminders at catastrophic odds with his feelings of warmth and acceptance in the 104th—those syrupy, hard-to-name Venus matters that Virgo cannot tolerate.

in Reiner's chart, Taurus, Venus' other domain, is his 8th house: another "dark" house, death and inheritance, guilt, enemies. it also.... is where Jean's moon is.

his Venus squares his Moon, which is a pretty double edged sword. there's something very needy and insecure about these two soft planets making a harsh angle, which, imo, leads Reiner to deeply unhealthy choices to win affection, approval, security—from his parents, from the nation of Marley, from Bertolt and Annie after Marcel's death, etc.

this seems very leader-ly to me; the 11th house is about community, the good of the whole, a humanitarian concern. also very Levi, imo.

Saturn is the diurnal malefic, so its good qualities are delayed or dampened by being in a night chart; Trost activates him.

Jean's growth from a "selfish bastard who only thinks of himself" is, astrologically, a broadening of what community/11th house matters mean to him. first, it is just himself: getting into the MPs at all costs, Saturn confused in a night chart. but then in trost, in the field, he leads for the first time: being selfish for the sake of people who trust him, using the deaths of others for his and his squad's survival. we see this again in the 57th expedition: he clearly sees his, Reiner, and Armin's role as giving up their own lives for the success of the Survey Corps. and his scope of concern gets bigger and bigger: the future of "humanity" in the walls in the uprising arc, and finally all of humanity.

also in the uprising arc, especially in the manga, I see his hesitation to kill as an 11th house morality, sure, part of humanity's charter, but I also deeply DEEPLY love the slow burn trust between Levi and his new squad: Jean kind of deputizes himself between springles and scary Levi himself. this also reminds me of Jean yapping at Armin about mutinying Erwin during the 57th expedition. it's pragmatism man!!! the will and trust of the collective is a better vote of confidence than chain of command

Saturn and Scorpio are pretty neutral to each other, but Scorpio itself is a wonderfully intense, more mature version of Mars; sorry, but it's manga Rei Hino versus 90s anime Rei Hino, with strong environmental and personal intuition. I've been a Jearmin shipper sometimes, and this is where those two boys are simpatico, imo.

Saturn opposes Jean's Aries stellium, but more exactly his Sun-Pluto conjunction. I'll just quote the astrologer Sue Tompkins here: "The Sun-Saturn type is usually a serious person, tending to take themselves very seriously and to take all that happens around them rather personally." bb

"Yes please," I say, taking the hot chocolate from the waiter and immediately licking all the whipped cream off like a filthy animal. "It's self indulgent, I know, but maybe it's what I need right now."

"Ok, you're going through something, so do what you have to do," said the twenty foot tall lady with the horns and the sharp teeth and whatnot. "But if this is going to keep going it might need a bit more thought put into it."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, is this a self insert thing? Like, we're all breaking the fourth wall here, but you specifically talk as if you're the writer, so are you actually the person writing this self indulgent fantasy in the reality of said fantasy, or a proxy?"

"I kind of think all characters are just facets of the authors who create them. When you break it down, they're all the author doing the 'what if' work of becoming someone else - a thought exercise, you know? 'What would have to happen in my life to make me this character?' basically."

"Yeah, sure, very philosophical." She took a sip of her own hot chocolate, which was served in a thoroughly rinsed out oil drum because she was, again, twenty feet tall. "But I'm thinking more about equity here. If you're the real world author, then you're just, like, a guy. No offense."

"None taken."

"Gender neutral guy, to be clear."

"I feel guy is more often gender neutral these days then it is gendered."

"Right, yeah, same wavelength and all, same author. Cool." she ran her clawed talons through the shimmering red-black locks of her hair. "But if you're just the real life author, just some guy, that means you have a name and a fairly mundane appearance. Meanwhile I'm this idealized, decidedly impossible standard of beauty. Like, you literally made me twenty feet tall dude."

"Oh, yeah."

"I've got horns."

"You sure do."

"So, like, is that fair?" Her green eyes pierced through me like lances. Not literally, this time I'm actually using hyperbole, just to be clear. "I mean, I can see how it's enjoyable for you if you're the author, and it's probably, like, morally fine more or less. Any person who experiences sexual attraction is going to fantasize about being with a person who represents their ideal of what's attractive, that's a natural thing."

"Yeah, but that's not super healthy to dwell on, right?" I take a sip of my hot cocoa. It's still warm, but cool enough to drink without burning my tongue. "Because no one's ever able to match an ideal, right? And yet I also think real people are often better than ideals. Like, what I find attractive in people, even just from a physical standpoint, has expanded as I've grown. There are things a younger me found to be imperfections that I now think are beautiful."

"Like big butts and love handles?"

"I mean, Mrs. Incredible set me onto big butts at a young age, I just didn't admit it till later."

"True." She sipped her own hot chocolate. "But we're off track. Are you the author or not? Because if you are, you have, like, a name, and I'm still just the big lady. That's not fair, is it? And I don't think it'd sit right with you if this was imbalanced."

"It does kind of ruin the vibe," I said. "I think I should be a character, then. Like, maybe a thinly veiled author avatar, like how George Costanza is pretty much just a slightly worse Larry David, or how Larry David is just a slightly worse Larry David."

"That's a start," she said with a smile. "So what do you look like, then? Are you idealized like me? What does an idealized author avatar look like to you?"

"...I don't know."

"First thing that pops into your head."

"...Jeff Goldblum?"

"Jeff Goldblum? Why is it always Jurassic Park actors with you?"

"I'm a child of the 90's - wait, plural? Who else did I mention."

"Bryce Dallas Howard," she said. "Oh, wait, that's Jurassic World, isn't it?"

"I think I only mentioned her because she's got a big butt."

"Right."

I shift in my seat uncomfortably. "I don't think I want to be Jeff Goldblum. I mean, I think other people might want me more if I was circa 1993 Jeff Goldblum, but I don't think that would fit me."

"That's fair. So what do you want to be?"

"...something like Vivi from Final Fantasy 9."

She stares at me for a moment. "What."

"You know, the little black mage? Big wizard hat, cool coat, clown pants, head is a black void with pinpricks of light for eyes."

"That's... that's a bonkers ass thing to say. No one wants to get with Vivi."

"Well yeah, he's like nine years old," I say. "Literally a child. But, like, an older Vivi, you know? Adult Vivi."

"So, like, a Black Waltz?"

"Yeah," I say. "Someone out there must want to fuck one of the Black Waltzes."

"Yeah they're pretty hot," she says before taking a sip from her oil drum of hot chocolate. "Kind of surprised you didn't want to be an animate suit of armor."

"I feel like an idealized version of me has to be goofy on some level," I said. "I know goofiness in real life is kind of a mood killer, romance wise, but it's essential to me. I'm a silly clown person."

"With a void for a face."

"And two prinpricks for eyes."

"Right."

She smiles, showing those sharp, railroad spike teeth of hers. "I can work with that."

Jack Black lands, back from his trip to the stratosphere. "Oh, you're doing this again?" he says with a wince. "Isn't that kind of unhealthy and weird?"

"To be fair, Jack Black," I say, "Can't you say the same about starring in Gulliver's Travels?"

"Fair point."

From across the street, Detective Munch looks at us and shakes his head. "Fucking weirdos," he says before turning to his wife, Muncher, and sloppily kissing her on the mouth.

Oh lord you don’t even know

I have far too many and I physically can’t pick favorites, so I present you; Pop’s Fukalen Headcanon Masterlist (that hasn’t been updated in a good while)

-They get into dumb stupid trouble a lot, Len cuz he’s overly confident, stubborn and stupid, and Fukase because he’s an agent of chaos

-They casually bully (not really, just tease) each other a lot

-They don’t really need to communicate to cause havoc, they just sorta catch each others dumbass brain waves

-Though Luka is the main English tutor for the Kagamines, Fukase also helps Len with his English a lot

-After Fukase has helped Len with English so much, it became a habit for Fukase to speak English to Len so that he could hear it more and learn, so though it’s not actually necessary it has become natural for them to have conversations where Len speaks Japanese and Fukase speaks English

-Fukase’s kinda jealous of Len’s dance skills but refuses to admit it, instead just saying Len’s a show off (he’s not wrong)

-They’re both gamers and play together a lot, though Fukase leans more towards shooters and Len’s a bit of a rhythm game fanatic

-They played Portal 2 together which consisted of Fukase carrying and Len fucking around bc he wasn’t built for puzzle games

-Fukase says project diva is dumb and not even a good game because he generally doesn’t like rhythm games as he tends to suck at them, but he’s secretly a hardcore project diva fan and plays it a lot

-Similarly, he complains about Sekai being cashgrab trash and just another shitty gacha game but he’s mildly addicted

-Oh and his fave module is Len’s Trickster one because then they have a matching cane and hat vibe goin’ on

-Sometimes when they’re in group chat with friends Fukase and Len will argue, and Fukase will say something like “shut up bb”, earning something like a “lmao you calling him baby that’s kinda gay” from the others, and the response is usually something along the lines of “YOU ALL KNOW ITS SHORT FOR BANANA BOY SHUT THE HELL UP”

-Len makes fun of Fukase’s overly complicated design a lot but had an edgy phase where he thought it was the peek of fashion and secretly wanted to look like him

-Len really likes Fukase’s lower range (especially when paired with his softer voice), but keeps that secret locked up and kept away from everyone and anyone

-Len assumed for ages that Fukase wore eyeliner until he did his makeup once and told him to take it off and Fukase was like “what eyeliner” and Len was like “you’re not wearing eyeliner???”

-Fukase gets super easily cold which is why he wears so many layers, meanwhile Len is that kid that walks around in a t-shirt and shorts all year around, a bit of a living heater if you will. It can either be optimal for cuddling or make it impossible, depends

-They use a lot of different nicknames for each other depending on context- usually Fukase might call Len “Banana Boy”, “Blondie”, “Twink” or “Dumbass” and Len might call Fukase “Clown” “Fuckass” “Fuka” or “Kase”. You’ll probably never catch Fukase saying “Babe” (Banana Boy > BB > Baby/Babe)or Len saying “Fukafuka” (fluffy/soft) out in the open tho

-Fukase and Flower are best friends, and Flower has a habit of giving people nicknames based on flowers. Fukase sorta picked up on this, occasionally calling Len “Buttercup”

-Every time someone asks Fukase how his face got scarred he comes up with the most wild and shocking story he can think of on the spot to get a reaction out of whoever is asking, but none of these manage to shock Len anymore because he’s heard every single one Fukase has managed to conjure up

-Fukase has multiple sorted reference, meme, quote, and random picture folders so he can send whatever he deems perfect in any given situation at any given time. Depending on context Len will more often than not know “oh this person said this, so Fuka is gonna send/show this specific thing in three, two, one- there it is”

-Whenever Len comes over to Fukase he will prioritize saying hi to Point before Fukase. Fukase‘s kinda accepted that Len likes Point more than him

-The way Len treats Point compared to the way Fukase does is night and day- Len holds it like a newborn child talking to the it like it’s a puppy, while Fuka be out here dragging it by a limb sayin “ya stinky”

-Point is their unofficial child probably

-Len likes a lot of Fukase’s original English songs, but knows his own English isn’t the best, at least not compared to Fukase’s, so he only ever jams to them and sings along in private

-Though he makes fun of it a lot, Fukase thinks Len’s English is kinda endearing, but he keeps that to himself

-Fukase has the weird ability to making insults sound like compliments, and compliments sound like insults, and Len is sick of it cuz it makes him very confused and annoyed

-Fukase speaks fluent sarcasm, meanwhile Len’s brain sometimes just short circuits and he can’t pick up on sarcasm whatsoever

-Fukase is a smartass with dumbass energy and Len is a dumbass who tries to have smartass energy (in contrast to Rin, who fully embraces her dumbassness and dumbass energy and thinks Len should too. He insists he isn’t as dumb as her and she’s like “bro you’re literally my reflection”)

-Len legit has a big ego (some describe him as mildly narcissistic) while, Fukase is just great at faking confidence and actually doesn’t think very highly of himself, though Len insists he absolutely should

-Fukase likes cracking self deprecating jokes. He does that more than your average person due to his secretly low confidence

-Len, due to his higher than average confidence, usually doesn’t find self deprecating jokes funny cuz he doesn’t relate to them, and it often takes him a second to get them. Sometimes, if he notices his friends making a lot of them, he’ll get kinda worried and be like “damn you need therapy or smthn?”

-Len sometimes aggressively delivers compliments to Fukase, or whoever he thinks needs them

-Fukase’s terrible at accepting compliments

-Len straight up started giving Fukase self love classes to teach him real confidence

-He also gives Fukase dance lessons, but Fukase usually doesn’t learn much because Len’s too busy showing off. They have fun tho

-Fukase really like when Len has his hair down

-Len’s kind of a mess in the kitchen, so when they have to prepare something themselves Fukase usually does it for the both of them

-When they’re out together they like to get milkshakes/smoothies. If both are almost broke and they gotta share, they compromise and get the banana and strawberry drink. While their fave flavors in general are banana for Len and strawberry for Fukase, they both have come to enjoy the banana and strawberry combo. Sometimes they lie to each other abt being broke just to order it and share

-Len says Wi-Fi Imagination Wild Boy is “their song” but Fukase likes to pretend it doesn’t exist and never happened out of embarrassment

-Len likes having one hand on each side of Fukase’s face because the difference in skin texture on each side feels funny. Fukase says it’s weird that he likes doing that, but doesn’t stop him from squishing his face

-Fukase always ponders how the Cryptons have perfect skin, or well, at least he knows Len does- perfect nails too, great for head scratches

-While Fuka is normally not the biggest fan of surprise physical contact, it’s kinda become a habit of Len to just randomly scratch his head or run his hand through his hair. This is an exception. If you comment on it tho, Fukase will suddenly start acting annoyed by it and smack Len’s hand away. Len teases him a bit for liking it

-Len absolutely adores how fluffy and messy Fukase’s hair is

-Fukase has his reasons for keeping his arm bandages, maybe health, convenience, not wanting to freak people out- but one is because he has a habit of picking at the skin there, which Len is trying to get him to stop doing

-Fukase’s arm picking worries Len, so sometimes he changes Fukase’s bandages for him just to make sure he won’t do it

-Len’s a trans guy and Fukase is one of the few people Len’s comfortable not binding his chest in front of, other than the other Cryptons and Piko (bc Piko’s his best friend)

-Fuka barely needs any sleep getting like 4 hours on average, while is a professional honk mimimier who likes getting his 8 hours of beauty sleep

-Because of Len’s habit of sleeping like a baby and the fact that he’s usually busy as fuck, Fukase always lets him sleep in when they have sleepovers at his place, not having the heart to wake him up

-When they have sleepovers they always end up having an argument a little while after Len starts showing signs of being tired. These basically consist of Len saying “if I go to bed now I know you’re just gonna stay up all night, get your ass to bed now or I’m staying up and annoying you while sleep deprived” and Fukase saying “you look like you’re gonna pass out and you know damn well I won’t be able to sleep for a while, go to bed or I’m carrying your sleepy ass over there“. Which of them wins varies

-Though they both frequently tease each other and are okay with teasing/being teased about pretty much anything, they also know exactly when they’re crossing a line or pushing certain buttons. Sometimes they’ll push the others buttons just a little or see how far they can go, but they always know when to stop and when the other isn’t cool with it anymore

-Fukase adores the horror genre as a whole, while Len’s more easily freaked out but pretends like he has no fear- so, when they’re for example picking out a movie to watch, Fukase might wanna watch a horror movie and Len will be like “Pft of course no problem I’m not a wimp” but then later in the middle of the movie they’ll have to pause and chill together for a bit because Fukase’s like “dude you look like you’re gonna cry maybe let’s not, want some hot coco?”

-Fukase and Len once started talking about some English tv show and after it came up in conversation Len confessed that he had a hard time following without Japanese subtitles, especially when he wants to sing along to the songs. This lead Fuka to say he could help him if there was anything he needed clarified when watching it, which lead to them watching the show together. Now they’ve developed a habit of watching stuff together so Fukase can help translate and clarify, even though Len doesn’t need it much anymore

-While Len loves doing concerts and performances, he gets very homesick and missed his friends since he’s so social. He’ll text people non stop, though he’s sometimes worried that it gets a little annoying- but Fukase doesn’t mind at all. Len always somehow gives him the ability to watch them live from his home and tells him about how it is and that he misses him, and since Fukase doesn’t have a sleep schedule it usually works wherever Len is. Len also hooked him up with some real nice glowsticks that he furiously waved around when watching

-Since Fukase and especially Len are both pretty dang successful and feel like can’t really comfortably talk about their insecurities or negative feelings regarding their loid status in front of less successful loids, like Piko or Lui, they kinda just talk about it to each other. They bond over it- knowing Piko has it worse, Fuka isn’t as bothered much by his licensing, but is ashamed that his VP doesn’t care for him. And Len, tho almost always feeling like he’s the best he could be, sometimes feels inferior to Rin when remembering that he’s just kind of an add on to her

-Len has little to no insecurities regarding his looks, though he spent like his eye color very much, partially bc he’s often made to wear brighter green or blue contacts for promo stuff. Fukase thinks this is bullshit and Len’s eyes are pretty as hell

-Fukase is disabled, hence the cane, and doesn’t typically mind it too much because it lets him skip out on a lot of stuff in PE and other such things. His one complaint is that he can’t really carry Len bc of his balance, but Len insists it’s ok

-While being a bit of a twig and not a fan of exercise, but he does have a bit of upper body mass because he plays drums and has used crutches/wheelchairs at several points in life. Len’s the more athletic of the two tho and likes to brag about

-Len has dog energy and Fukase has cat energy

-Len bought Fukase a pair of those headphones with cat ears on them. Fukase said it was stupid, asked why he spent money on them and claimed he’d never wear them, but he often uses them at home

-They’ve faked a proposal for free food

-Len kinda doesn’t really know what exactly Fukase is or how he works but also doesn’t really care

-Fukase loves showing Len games that are actually horror games but don’t seem like it at first. Len always gets suspicion and Fukase always goes “nonono this ones’s fine it’s not scary at all I promise” and Len always falls for it

-After Len complained about it enough he finally manages to get Fukase to eat three meals a day (or at least try to). Fukase forgets to every now and again but Len’s usually there to remind him

-Despite the fact that nothing seems to make Len insecure ever, there was one time his perfect skin had a pimple and he refused to come out of his room for almost anything. Fukase had to sit outside his room and convince him it really wasn’t that bad on three separate occasions

Thinkin’ About Alexandria

An important thing to keep in mind about Alexandria, I think, is that she (and the rest of Cauldron’s inner circle) have been sticking like glue to an organizational schema she developed when she was fifteen, using power-assisted cognition but the life-skills, worldview and experience of a fifteen year old; I think this goes a long way towards explaining why her mindset was finding the most efficient way to martially oppose villains instead of, say, finding a way to financially disincentivize villainy through social safety nets. (alternatively, she wanted society to be a thunderdome of sorts to get everyone trained up for gold morning, but that’s got just as many holes that could be explained by being fifteen.)

Her power answered her fear that she’d die without getting to grow and change by arresting all her biological processes and permanently locking her into her late-teens-early-twenties; she has to pretend in order to seem as old as she actually is. Her cognition is completely offloaded to her power; her brain is vulnerable, but it isn’t clear if she’s actually doing any thinking with that thing. Unmovable, unbreakable, clad in fortress imagery, sticking like glue to a specific plan, and a specific value (they’ll be alive, that’s all that matters) derived from her own root fear of death, her preference for mutation over death by cancer, which she projects onto everyone else in the world and uses to justify everything she does to them. Incredible calculative power, incredible resources, incredible martial power, and a fighting style that, to my recollection, consists of hitting the other guy until they stop moving.

So, you know, conclusion number one that I’m drawing from all of this is that Alexandria is Taylor with all the world’s resources at her back and no one to ever tell her no. Conclusion two is that Alexandria is subtly in the same kind of power-induced arrested development as Contessa; she’s got the brains and the brawn to think up and execute bad plans perfectly, she faces no criticism or scrutiny, she (usually) faces no consequences. She’s not “stand-on-a-beach-for-three-days-in-a-stupor” levels of brainscorched by her power but there’s a real degree to which I read the training wheels as never having come off with her. I get a vibe of R/Iamverysmart permeating Cauldron’s set-up and self-assuredness, and this is part of why.

Conclusion three (the big obvious one) is that she’s a metaphor for institutional inertia. When she dies and the Protectorate uses her as a scapegoat for everything that’s wrong with them it’s very obviously self-serving but it’s also not, like. Incorrect. She’s a synecdoche for everything wrong with the system. Rigid, inflexible, callous, arguably necessary but nearly impossible to remove or change or challenge.

And then she gets replaced by a guy whose whole schtick is that he can mix and match the best properties of wildly different component elements on the fly to create the best possible response to any problem.

I'm loving your Human!Bill AU, but i do have a question: What gender is human bill? Like his human bodie's biological gender? And why did you pick it? I know you modelled it off the Canon!Bill Alex drew which i love because it's not widely loved or accepted, and is chaotic and gross just the way it should be. Also what his Goldies favorite human food and least favorite human food?

Thanks!! :) Biological sex is female, probably, unless I think of a really good reason to make Bill intersex. (Unlikely, though; since Bill is alien I want to not correlate an intersex body with his alienness, that's not the vibe I'm going for here.) In any case, what he definitely isn't is anatomically male, and the reason he isn't anatomically male is because everyone canonically uses he/him pronouns for him.

I'm shooting for those specific trans agender*-apathetic vibes of "the assigned sex and the pronouns do not match at all, the person has no interest in making them 'match,' and the person has no desire to alter the way the body is shaped or perceived in any way." Granted, it's true that Bill would very much like to alter his body—but only to make it, y'know, Not Human. Reshaping the genitalia or altering the distribution of fat/hair would not improve his experience in this body. He doesn't care what humans think he looks like and he doesn't care what humans call him.

(*I don't think Bill is agender, per se; but I think his funky alien gender has no equivalent in human gender systems, so he has no gender he can claim amongst humans. Bill's gender is "spherical equilateral triangle" and the latest Gender Discourse in his home universe was about whether spherical shapes are their own unique gender experience or if they're just part of their umbrella shapes. He is NOT going to try to map that onto human experiences.)

His favorite human "food" (do drinks count as food?) is expired lime juice margaritas. He also enjoys a wide variety of other expired juices.

If he has to choose a SOLID food, whatever blindingly-bright pulse-doubling sugar-and-caffeine abomination has most recently been added to the candy aisle. Ford has caught him snorting a line of expired Smile Dip off the bathroom counter.

If he has to choose a solid food that DOESN'T have enough artificial color in it to turn your pee blue, 90% odds he'll just grab a can opener and eat something unheated straight out of the can, what does he care, it's food, leave him alone. He enjoys Real Food when it's offered but he can't muster up the energy to learn to prepare or acquire it himself.

Least favorite food is celery. Impossible to chew. No flavor. Hairy. Only tolerable if it's chopped up and DROWNED in squirt cheese-in-a-can.

4☆Town christmas headcanons !

Some christmas themed headcanons i've written about things 4town does around this time! I hope u like it <3

︎︎☆ They have a very large tree, which can fit a lot of decorations (including some porcelain figurines that Jesse made specifically for the tree).

☆ They bake A LOT (especially Tae Young) Tae loves trying lots of new Christmas recipes and they always come out amazing.

☆ They go out a lot on Christmas nights, because everything is decorated and they love the amount of Christmas things they can find on the street (and they take many photos)

☆ It's OBVIOUS that the five of them love snowball fights, and it's obvious that some of them ended up laughing on the floor with a snowball in their face (Aaron T)

☆ On really cold nights, Z makes hot chocolate with marshmallows. The five of them sit on the couch surrounded by blankets, limbs intertwined, mug in hand as they watch the Christmas specials.

☆ Like Tae, Rob tries out a lot of new Christmas recipes, which always end up impressing the guys because they turn out just right.

☆ They donate profits to organizations that give gifts to low-income children.

☆ They also have some Christmas singles (and a full album) with that Christmas vibe.

☆ There will always be too many presents under the tree. It's cute how everyone knows each other's tastes, so gifts always end up perfect for the recipient.

☆ They buy a lot of Christmas things in stores if they find it cute (No matter what it is, if it catches their eye they will buy it. Especially T and Tae and then Jesse scolds them for spending money)

☆ They wear that shared Christmas clothes (you know, those matching ugly Christmas coats, or hats and stuff) and then take photos (duh)

☆ They make snowmen (as many as they can) and are always sad when they start to melt.

☆Tae Young sews a lot as a hobby, so various shared coats they wear will be made by him.

☆ When it's cold, in addition to making hot chocolate, they like to wrap themselves in many blankets and tell stories in front of the fireplace.

☆ Tae Young and Aaron T (and sometimes Z) go back to their childhood for Christmas.

☆ Following the hc above, when they are in a mall and see a man dressed as Santa Claus on a throne listening to children's Christmas wishes, they will be waiting in line.

☆ Jesse loves to make vases with Christmas decorations, with characteristic colors and extremely detailed drawings. And boys always love to find a nice place to put them.

☆ Robaire loves learning to play Christmas songs on the piano, and he loves watching boys sing them if they know the words.

☆ They do Christmas karaoke.

☆ It is impossible that when they are walking in the streets full of snow someone does not propose to make a snowman or a snowball fight.

Melanie Martinez songs I think resonate with lmk characters

A.n this is probably not accurate but let me enjoy this. Also this is part 1 of songs that embody lmk characters.

Mei- Teacher's Pet

The reason why I put her as the person to have this song as a fav is due to the fact she gives more of a stalker girl vibe if she wasn't raised properly by her parents on what love is.

Although this does talk about pdos, this could go both ways, let's put this in a different example, a boss and their assistant.

The boss could be a rather polite and enjoyable person of which everyone loves or everyone wishes to be, whilst their assistant is shy, quiet and reserved. The assistant looks up to their boss and even develops an unhealthy crush to the point where the boss themselves try to distance themselves from them, but no matter how they try, the assistant forces them together which can lead to a very toxic dynamic Extremely fast. To the point where the assistant starts stalking them as a means to figure out what they like from what they do not.

This is a alternate version of what teacher's pet means, desperately wanting someone of higher power to see them and wanting their affection and attention so much to a point where they would go crazy for the slightest touch or compliment they receive from the other.

Redson- High school sweethearts

Reason looks like a very lonely demon who would be desperate enough to marry someone he could love and raise a family on his own but due to his judgmental parents (because they do give off an overbearing and judgmental vibe). He can't marry someone he truly has interest in.

In many of season one's episodes, if you pay attention to his interaction with his parents, you can clearly tell how submissive he is towards them (until a specific episode where he storms off to win a race). This is ultimately him standing up for himself for once and starting to grow tired of his parents behavior.

Wukong- Show & Tell

I've analyzed his character and can give off certain hcs that would match up to him as a celebrity and a person in whole

Wukong obviously loves fame, but he doesn't like the fact his fans could be overbearing and toxic, consistently wanting more and more from him until he's nothing but dust and short fame.

Evidence that backs up my claim is due to the fact he willingly chose an island where it's near impossible to reach and find, he allows very few people to come onto his island from fear of being harassed. Hence why He's so comfortable around Mk being in his home as if he wanted, he wouldn't allow Mk to hold his staff, which is of great importance to him.

Tang- Soap

Tang obviously suffers from anxiety from before the third season, if you watched his movements and mannerisms you could tell he might be suffering from anxiety and stress.

This could be from long-term trauma or something that affected him in the past that could explain why he's so nervous and why he's happy whenever MK brings up anything that has Wukong in it, because he feels as if that's the only way he can resonate with someone because he feels like he 'lacks personality'
