Returning Pains (Blue Lock)
Heyo! :D Y’all ever dream up a tickle scenario an wake up absolutely needing to put it into existence? That was this fic :D I really love Chigiri- he’s hands down my favorite character of Blue Lock, so this was an absolute delight to write :) I hope y’all like it!
Spoiler warning for Ep. 6-8 of the anime
Just realized I forgot a summary my bad!
Summary: After their match against Team W, Chigiri’s knee starts to ache. Isagi tries to help him out and learns something rather interesting about the redhead.
CW: Light swearing
Isagi stared up at the ceiling of the Blue Lock building, the sounds of his fellow teammates snoring around him. His mind was racing, still hyped from their recent victory against Team W. Sure- it wasn’t a clean win- they ultimately tied thanks to Chigiri, but a win was still a win for him. They survived. They got to keep playing.
He really should sleep- you never knew when the next game would be.
Just close his eyes and…
An arm smacked his face, Guirmu’s loud snores blasting in his ear.
Well, so much for sleep.
Crawling out of his futon, he crept over sleeping bodies and tangled limbs, making his way through the sliding doors into the cool hallway. On his way out, he noticed someone was missing. “I think I might know where they are…”
~~~
“Found you.” Isagi nodded, finding Chigiri before screens replaying their match. “I had a feeling you’d be here.”
“Humans are creatures of habit.” The redhead shrugged, nodding at the space beside him.
Isagi took it without hesitation, getting settled as they watched their most recent match play out before them again and again. “You were incredible out there. I had no idea you could run like that.”
“Heh…thank you. It’s mostly thanks to you.” It was hard to see, but Isagi could make out the faint blush staining his cheeks in the light. “I wouldn’t have…yeah. So thank you.”
“Oh come on- I just yelled at you to move.” Isagi laughed awkwardly, feeling his own face burn. Something about the way Chigiri gave out compliments made him feel…strange. There was something so sincere in his quiet voice- it did funny things to his chest.
He was about to make a joke to lighten the tension when he noticed Chigiri’s pinched expression, the hand resting on his knee tightening some. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah…I haven’t run at full speed like that in awhile. It’s aching.” Chigiri confessed, trying to rub away the throbbing pain. “I’ll be fine- I just need it to calm down.”
“Hmm.” Isagi nodded, eyes thoughtful. “Do you want me to help?”
“Huh?” Chigiri stared at him. Isagi’s face burned once more.
“I mean- I, eh…” He cleared his throat, looking for the right words. “A-Athletes help one another yeah? If I can…do you want me to help you with your leg? I know how to stretch them, and I’m okay with massaging limbs…” The more he talked, the more embarrassed he felt, internally cringing at how long the other gaped. “Sorry, that was probably way too weird- I’ll leave-”
“You…you mean it? Can you help?” Chigiri’s voice froze him mid crouch. Isagi turned to look back at the other, meeting pink eyes. He looked so flustered, tugging at the ends of his red hair. “I wouldn’t mind it…if you’re willing to help.”
“Yeah! Yeah, definitely.” Isagi nodded, shaking off his nerves. Things would only get more uncomfortable if both of them were flustered. “So um…yeah, just go ahead and stretch out your leg…”
~~~
Isagi was sure the entire thing was going to be tense and uncomfortable. Admittedly, it was at first.
He stared down at the leg before him, unsure where exactly to go. Should he just grab his knee? Start at his calf? His mind went blank with panic.
“Isagi? It’s alright, you really don’t have to do this.” Chigiri began, falling quiet as Isagi waved a hand.
“No no, I got this. I want to help, really.” Deciding to just go for it, he placed a hand gently on the other boy’s thigh, just over his knee. He’d start there and figure it out as he went. With a breath, he squeezed lightly.
“Hmm!”
Isagi froze, eyes shooting up in panic. “Did I hurt you? I’m sorry.”
Chigiri was stiff, lips pressed thin and hands balled up by his sides. He looked pained. “N-No, no you’re fine.” He grunted, waving him on. “It’s fine.”
Isagi raised an eyebrow before turning back to his task, giving his thigh another gentle squeeze. Again, he felt Chigiri tense up, another muffled sound escaping. He turned to double check that he wasn’t hurting him when-
“Oh…I get it now.” Isagi blinked, seeing a small, wobbly smile on the other’s lips. “You're ticklish.”
“P-Possibly.” Chigiri admitted, blushing with a shy glance. “I’ll do it. Thank you thou-heh!” The redhead yelped out a laugh when Isagi squeezed his thigh a third time, slapping his hands over his mouth with wide eyes. “I-Isagi!”
“Well dang- and here I thought I’d never learn anything about the elusive Chigiri Hyoma.” Isagi grinned as he turned back his friend’s leg. “Okay, I’m gonna be serious now.”
~~~
“Serious” turned out to be harder than Isagi thought. Mainly because no matter what he did, it tickled Chigiri. He tried using the moves the other boy showed him before they began, keeping his touch incredibly light as he dragged his hands against the joint, but even that proved too much to handle for the tittering redhead. Chigiri had resorted to covering his face with his hands, using the sleeves of his sweatshirt to muffle the sound.
“Man, have you always been this ticklish?” Isagi laughed softly, trying a different move that he hoped wouldn’t feel too sensitive. It only ended up making Chigiri double over with a muffled squeak, shoulders shaking. “How did you get through physical therapy like this?”
“B-Bahahahrely!” Chigiri got out through his giggles, trying so hard to fight them down. “It tiiihihhickled theheheen, and it tihihihickles now!”
“Good, must mean I’m doing it right.” Isagi nodded. “I’m doing it right, right?”
“Behehehhesides it tihiihihkcling? Yeahahahah, it hehehehelps.”
Isagi filled with pride. “Good!”
After another minute or so, the brunette stopped, releasing his friend’s leg and watching him curl up, bringing it to his chest protectively. “Heh, cute. Hey, where else are you ticklish?” Isagi reached out, poking his friend in the side to see what would happen.
“Ah! No! Doohohhon’t youd dahahare!” Chigiri snorted, his giggles increasing tenfold as Isagi closed the gap, scooting behind him and tasering his ribs. “Ihihiihihihisahahhaagi, wahahahait! Wehehhehell wahhahahhake everyone uuhuhuhup!”
“Keep your voice down then.” Isagi laughed, crawling his fingers up until they were digging below Chigiri’s armpits, making the other squeal. “They won’t know if you don’t wake them up.”
“Ahahahahhahhsshohoohohohohle!” Chigiri swore, falling back into Isagi’s chest as he laughed himself silly. “Gehehheheht awhahhahahay from thehehheere!”
“Rude! Such a potty mouth for a princess.” Isagi gasped in mock offense, moving his hands to his friend’s belly, delighting in the more frantic cackles he made. “Alright missy, you asked for it! Take that!”
“Ihihihihihisagihiihihihihhi!”
~~~
“These kids…do they ever get any sleep?” Ego shook his head at the screen, watching numbers 44 and 11 goof about. Sighing, he turned off the monitor, heading back to his own bed.
“I suppose I can’t blame them. I couldn’t sleep either after my first goal.” He shook his head with a soft laugh as the door shut behind him, temporarily leaving Blue Lock all behind.
“Be ready, my diamonds in the rough. The next team won’t be easy.”
Thanks for reading!

How would you have the canon pairings in naruto get together if you had total creative control? :00
THEY ALL LITERALLY JUST NEED TO *TALK* 😭
Naruto and Hinata needed to interact more, and Neji should not have to die for them to have a reason to finally talk again. (I mean interact throughout the whole series, from part 1, and also after Hinata's confession!? Pls!!)
Sai and Ino would both have to be introduced as their own people from the start and not Sakura/Sasuke's substitutes/foils and also talk to each other. I love them both and it felt like they were just "the spares" for sasusaku! ;-;
To suggest anything for Chouji and Karui I'd first need to now how did that even happen. When did they even meet? Did they ever talk??
Shikamaru and Temari are okay? Better than the rest at least, but as a character Shikamaru still needed to learn to treat women better by the end of the series and I cannot see how someone like Temari of all people would ever go along with that. Other than that they're fine.
Finally Sasuke and Sakura? Oh god I would need Sakura to get over her crush!! So that they could start over and Sasuke could have the chance to earn her feelings back properly. I like to think how the scene where she fails to kill him could have been useful for that if, instead of hesitating because of her feelings, she hesitated because she was afraid to end what team 7 once had and also because it would hurt Naruto. After the war they could go back to how it was as genins, but now as actual friends and then I could see the relationship develop.
In conclusion: Details aside, they all needed more interactions!!
