Titans: Season 4 - Ep11 - Thoughts

I have finally watched the episode. My God, my day at work was agonizing; I looked at tumblr and saw gifs and posts and was like screaming cos I wanted to watch it.

Anyway, since I've just freshly finished watching it, I am gonna note down some thoughts!

So... I feel weirdly mixed on this episode? As an episode it was good but as the penultimate episode? Idk... I feel kinda meh about it? I don't wanna come across as negative and the rest of this will mostly be stuff I enjoyed since I actually did enjoy the majority of it and as an episode in itself, it was good but idk... the fact the finale is all that's left, I feel like it's gonna be rushed... or the actual action is gonna be over super quick etc and loose ends won't get tied up... and I hate to say it, but I am kinda now doubting what is in store for dk fans in the finale? I would have thought this episode would have had more than it did, I gotta say. Idk... I just felt I had to say that to begin with.

Sigh, Kory continues to be and will forever be my absolute favourite. Idgaf what haters say and shit, I love Anna as Kory. I really do. She might not be like some of the versions people know Kory from but I think she brings close qualities and if anything makes this version of Kory edgier. Like, I absolutely adore her. Starfire is my absolute favourite DC character. Always has been, always will. I basically support any and all versions of my baby girl since DC doesn't spotlight her as much as they should cos she's fucking amazing.

Kory's dreaming and shit has me nervous for her. Like, we all know by now some bad shit goes down and happens to Kory. I am so dreading it. I know that she's gonna be fine from BTS stuff but like... it's still gonna hurt like a motherfucker.

Mercy was an interesting addition this season, I gotta say. I like the actress a lot since her days on Coronation Street (UK soap opera) and honestly, seeing her get choke slammed by Kory had me grinning but I like in the end she is purely like fuck it, take the documents, whatevs. Gar was also hilarious in that scene like no we don't need them all but I'm taking them ehehehehe. XD

Was... Was I missing something with May?? Like I thought she was dead when he burnt her ass up last episode? I was really confused cos she was just walking about like that didn't happen. Did she die and come back or was she never dead?? What... was that bodybag scene in the last ep real? I thought it was a dream. It was weird. I mean she dead af now and I enjoyed her as Mother Mayhem; she really had the villain oomf. Sebastian is... lacking in comparison.

In addition to that, Sebastian had potential to be scary but honestly, he comes off as a whiney mamas boy like he is grating. XD

Conner... my boy, I am always so left and right with you. I'm glad he is actually team Titans but... idk something in me still isn't trusting his ass XD. Like, I thought the bit with him and Dick in the tunnel was him tricking Dick or something but seems legit. We'll agree to like Conner and trust him... for now. XD

So, I didn't mind the Jason and Tim scenes but fuck me, wrong time. Like, I'm sorry. It felt so badly placed. We are at the penultimate episode and we're now just getting some Tim training as Robin with Jason? Nah, I was annoyed. And, they spent so many scenes on it?? Like miss me with that bs. It felt unnecessary, imo.

Another sour note, I feel like we actually could have had a lot more Kory scenes considering the episode was called Project Starfire. Like, damn. I promise, that's my only really salty thing.

Now, ahem... the dickkory scene on the balcony was cute af. It really nicely reflected the scene in S1 at the motel. But, it was too shorttt! Their sweet scenes are just... always too short for my liking which is disappointing. I'm happy for all and any scenes but jeez.

Gar and Rachel talking about wanting a change and shit, I was like are y'all gonna leave the famjam?? Cos I will not be emotionally okay if that happens. I literally just saw a certain new hero film where this was also a thing like pls CAN YOU NOT. My heart can't.

Lmao, Dick in the chamber thing when they were powering the orb thing was hilarious. Like, boy done fucked up the whole plan bc of his own anxiety for his wife. It was cute and his concern was very obvious.

Also, side note, the bit where Dick, Rachel and Gar appear where Kory is with Mercy made me giggle. Like Dick was so huffy like 'Making new friends?' and it was unusual like in this series its a real rarity that Dick is annoyed at something Kory has done like he has let her get away with literal murder whilst batting eyelashes at her. So, it was like tehe. Ya know? I'm assuming others know what I mean.

ALSO. When in the chamber thing as they got to 98% and before Dick fucked it up, did you guys notice Kory's eyes? That tiny bit where it went a bit slower and her eyes like flickered from glowing to normal? Was that something up with her powers or am I imagining shit?

I think that's mostly my thoughts. I still don't know how to feel on the episode. It didn't blow me away and I feel like with penultimate episode, I should be? I got excited in like the very last minute where he blows the horn and Kory's like 'There's only one way to end this. My way.' like bitch is dead serious and I'm scared for my girl.

I'm hoping the finale is really good buuut... I have also seen screeners really hyping it up and I'm just not trusting it. So, I think I'm gonna try and go into the finale with as less an expectation as possible to avoid crushing disappointment. I'm not gonna have any theories or anything or scenes that I would ideally like bc I think that's how you get set up for disappointment.

I'm gonna enjoy the ride and just see where the finale takes us. Weird that this time next week, Titans will be over. Sad times. :(

One upside, I'm working til 3pm next week so I am gonna try my absolute HARDEST to avoid tumblr and just not look at the tags so I remain blissfully unaware of what happens. Even if it kills me.

Each week when I am at work and a new episode of Titans comes out, I literally refresh the dc titans and dickkory tag like a thousand times to get me through the day.

Bc he clearly isnt stable and sometimes strains his performance in Inkigayo is an example and many were hating on him for that, he cant just come back and sing badly again The GP wont take him that seriously.

He needs to improve his vocals even if as a fan you think he is already perfect that mindset isnt good if you wanna be better. See Dua was critized for her dance and now she is praised after a lot of pratice and gained more fans that is the mindset a person should have.

Jimin got hate for literally announcing that he was performing on those korean shows. The solo stans were salty because other members didn't do it. It was not because of his unstable voice.

If you are talking about encore stage then First of all, so many people said that there was some in-ear problem. And Second, even if there wasn't any in-ear problem, encore stage is for fun NOT to show off vocals like some kpop stans think.

When you have to show off vocals, you do well in live performances and concerts. If jimin is unstable there then you can rightfully give him constructive criticism.

His live performances on the other hand were perfect. What are you even talking about? I agree he is unstable sometimes but that's extremely rare and he has improved so much, just look at all the live performances in the concerts. He was so good there.

They're not perfect. Everyone has a bad day. You're talking as if jimin is unstable in every stage. Encore stage doesn't matter, the live performance matter. And he was perfect in live performances.

People were hating him for the encore stage and those were mostly other members solo stans, or blackpink stans (even if their own faves vocals are mid af). So kpop stans has some weird hatred towards jimin and they nitpick everything he does. Encore was a good opportunity for them.

Taehyung's voice is unstable too sometimes but no one hates on him as hard as they did to jimin. Infact people barely even mentions tae or any other member being unstable eventhough they are too sometimes. They just need excuses and will nitpick everything to push jimin down.

These haters will hate on jimin for literally breathing. It's sad but it's true. All of jimin's live performance are so good.

And you're talking about mindset.

As a fan when I heard jimin's live performances (the actual performances) they were all so good, his vocals were so beautiful.

And for jimin....... and his mindset as a artist, check out any of his interview and he had said millions of times how he always strive to improve himself.

Jimin wasn't even given vocal lessons still he became the lead vocalist, just look at the way he has improved so much by teaching himself, he sometimes take jungkook's help too for vocals, he IS dedicated to improve himself and his improvement shows. You are exaggerating some things. Imo jimin sounds perfect in face performances.

Taehyung was given vocal lessons along with jk but still he didn't become the lead vocal. Ask yourself why? Taehyung's voice is good but it doesn't suit all types of songs. Jungkook's voice is good too, his strongest point is stability, but if we look at it, his voice is just basic, nothing special and unique.

Jimin's voice is beautiful, angelic, seductive, deep, unique all at the same time. And even without the vocal lessons he has improved so much all these years.

I don't even know which recent performances you have watched to say this.

1 - A person had a headcanon concerning our muses that I never agreed with. They wanted to play based on this headcanon, I didn't accept it, but I proposed something different. As soon as this person got a chance, they changed the entire plot of the story to what they wanted from the beginning, including godmoding and ignoring my rules. I got really angry and blocked them. I realized later that this person wanted material to create a fanfic.

2 - Someone approached me to play, we were in the same discord servers. On discord, they said they loved Thor and wanted to further explore their relationship and everything was fine, on tumblr, they were a hater. To this day I don't know which persona was the real one and I'm not willing to find out.

3 - Godmoding: people wanting you to accept that your character did horrible things to theirs for shock value or angsty purposes. He didn't.

I gotta wonder. Regardless of where anyone thinks any causality started

how does the weird anti cult to me negotiate me being right about everything meaningful in the show's actual design structure? For example, sure, Fran turned down the offer that was extended (then lost his show and was salty af) so that didn't come through but. These antis don't choose to differentiate the difference in these information lines and sources, casuality, and reporting structure. They just see, oh, minor wrong thing, ergo everything else is fake, even when it all comes to.

They eventually have to negotiate how I not only knew before deadline, but knew its actual pretense in regards to Dean, the morals, etc literally a year in advance while people screamed at me and couldn't even accept the script was real, which. I knew was real. Bc we had older drafts. For reasons. Which they won't negotiate with themselves either, why even "CM sources" screaming at me couldn't knock me down, or half the fandom.

They won't negotiate they harassed me underground over that spiral narrative project. Or why there's now a spiral based show to the same concept of 13 remixed tapes. And the actors are just tweeting it out. And they hired alchemists and masons. In a super neat area. Or the broadcast locations all being proto TBS like the syndicate war results regaining CW I was talking about while also rolling back to being appropriate, with one could say Trauma Broadcasting System bringing you all the greatest hits the corporate washed god ignored from, say. Savannah. :)

I knew enough to shitpost Alien Superstar while you guys still made confused akrida noises, enough to post Phoenix for reflections and monsters in heads, Ready for War for both faces of the war card and the image of neto. I've mapped out every step of the morals, I've tweeted out the inspiration shows parallel and ANYBODy that has bothered to click them and get hit with Truth vs Despair or trauma radio or ticks and leeches of the garden and whatever else is just on the floor realizing what's happening while others are like NO I DONT LIKE THIS SO IT CANT BE REAL.

Every fight is just In the Moment to them. It doesn't click that this dates to the S12 market testing fight of berems, to the S8 russian channel docking of even ILU-redacted robbie. This is old, angry, gay, witchy, authorial blood that people screamed lies about for years "no intent". Like the years i said, berens is trying but stonewalled, and 2po and his cult went "nuh uh no intent lalalala i am not listening" and berens wasn't running that ball alone. He never was.

Now we have revenge in a romance marketed, postered, framed, LGBTQ modern piece using all this shit by some magical thing and like.

What's my haters best option here? Am I psychic? The world's luckiest bastard? Ok so what, do I share one braincell with the writers. Do you think that differentiation you're trying to draw in your head is going to change the ongoing directional accuracy so far, or say... [checks notes] remove that our next episode is Reflections? Gee that sounds familiar where have i heard this before.

you should have remembered that creatives were real people too. you lost the plot years ago and we never stopped running the ball.

Genuinely, MAPPA animation is clean but Im so fucking genuinely sad csm got blasted with the basic af corporate clean pretty anime normie style beam. like bruh old animation shit and all but can we PLEASE normalize going back to like different animation styles. LIKE LIKE bruh trigger they always be doin the interesting cool art style shit, they have smth thats theirs (yes Im sucking dick to my favorite anim studio)OR LIKE SCIENCE SARU their style wouldnt fit at ALL but at least itd be flavorful, OR MADHOUSE they're good at style mimick and can do the sketchy line shit really well like in OPM

I wouldn’t consider them instant unfollows but I will unfollow in time due to constant untagged and uncut posts, and people who treat their tumblr blogs like a personal by regularly rbing posts that are unrelated to their muse or the fandom. I feel like whenever I unfollow someone, they tend to be the main reason 🤔 Idk if I should list them on my rules now that I think about it.

Oh man I have so many. I usually keep quiet about a pet peeve and just quietly unfollow but they’re so repetitive.

People who treat join the rpc to advocate for social justice and hardly rps confuse me? I’m here like aren’t you in the wrong space? Man, just go somewhere else. Some posts are fine, like the ones addressing things properly and are actually informative but there also some that are really aggressive that makes you feel like you’re a bad person for not knowing and that you have to follow the ‘rules’ they established or you are <inserts some label> that make me want to stay 10 feet away. Imo there are no rules in the rp space. You either agree with someone or you don’t, which in that case just don’t interact with each other.

Oversharing. (Is that even the right word...) I have a high bar when it comes to oversharing, since I do enjoy knowing a bit about the personal lives of rpers/muns I’ve come to see as friends. But in my previous fandom you see a handful of blogs who goes like ‘BE WARNED I’M VERY UNHINGED AND UNPREDICTABLE, YOU WON’T WANT ME AS A ENEMY’ in large, bolded text. Like Okay...? I remember the times when I tend to be the youngest in any fandom space and enjoyed being the baby but now I’m usually the oldest or definitely-not-the-youngest and sobs.... Times have changed.

I find this fandom very chill! It’s hard to believe my blog is only 3 months old but I’m enjoying my time here so far. Most of the people who had me blocked at least knew how to block and don’t send hate or anything. Idk what’s going on in other corners of the fandom but I’ve learned to not care so much about what other people think of me. If you want to badmouth my blog or about something I do then whatever makes you happy, I guess! As long as I can’t see it and it’s not so high profile to the point of someone telling me ‘hey this blog is spreading lies about you’ then it’s not my problem.

Tbh even if you’re the nicest person on earth, at least one person who has met you is going to secretly think that you’re just doing it for attention. The difference is whether they don’t share their thought with people, or they share it with their close friends group, or they broadcast it on their blog, but it happens. Like they say, haters is just going to hate.

whenever he cloud gazes with shikamaru, when asked what he thinks a cloud looks like, he just says some sort of food

Hi, can we just talk about how amazing cc!Tommy's acting was today?

I've seen some people putting him down for how erratic he was acting when holy fucking shit guys did you fail to remember he was stuck in prison with his abuser for a week, was promptly beaten to death by said abuser and spent god knows how long in the afterlife with Wilbur, which clearly didn't help his mental state - and was later brought back to life and forced to spend yet more time with Dream in prison until Sam let him out.

And you think his acting was bad for that?

C!Tommy is very clearly traumatized af and death certainly didn't help that. Some people think it's stupid that he's fearful of taking fall damage? He was beaten to death at the hands of Dream, he was hurt so much and he doesn't want to be hurt ever again.

“Stop it I'm on half a heart!”

“I wanna remain on full hearts at all times.”

I think cc!Tommy's acting was spectacular this stream, he portrayed his characters trauma in such a deep way it was incredible. And since being revived he's scared, confused, still threatened by the mere presence of Dream and terrified of any and all weapons that can cause damage to him because he doesn't want to be hurt again.

This can mean both physically and emotionally but more physically than anything from what we've seen.

And same goes for c!Tommy lashing out at people. He had every right to. Man's fucking died and no one seems to believe or acknowledge what he actually went through, even if he was willing to explain in the first place.

So yeah, fuck you and your “tommy's bad at acting” and “he's overdoing it” he's presenting the trauma within his character very well on my opinion, and if you're throwing hate on him because you think he's “overselling the trauma” then you clearly don't know enough about his character or trauma itself in general.

TLDR: Tommy's acting was pog, the Tommy haters are just salty because he can act better than them.

God, do you think they're going to recast Zack's English voice actor? No offense to Caleb and maybe he was just given bad directions, but he really didn't fit Zack at all. He felt like he belonged in a Sonic game. Do you think we're gonna be stuck with him lol?

Nope. He's Zack. I heard all this bs about him was because someone looked him up and mistook a guy with the same name for him, got triggered and went on a total harassment campaign. They were wrong. He's not like that and he didn't deserve it.

And I've seen people outright asking noctis va to take over. This isn't okay either.

Caleb had like 10 lines, probably not even that, and he's being vilified for not being Gomez. How can anyone judge his performance based on so little? Honestly, I think haters were just looking for a reason to force him out.

I think he did okay. I sure af ain't gonna judge him on so little. If he nails the living legacy lines in part two then he deserves his role and an apology from salty asshats.

SE chose him for a reason and he deserves a chance to show us why.

To that anon tbh Sharon I don't think is uniquely unpopular by fandom standards. Maybe by MCU standards but not fandom in gen standards. Or at least its not that weird that she is.

Ship wars and just being bitter that the ship that became canon wasn't your ship and throwing salt at that ship was just always a thing. Especially if the fandom for the non canon ship thought they had a shot of being canon. See any fandom with a love triangle in the story ever.

Now its more the norm to pretend that its something deep. That the other ship is morally repugnant and you aren't just being petty af. When Sharon was the most unpopular it was still kinda the norm to just be openly petty but justifying your saltiness was becoming more the norm. Hence you'd get arguments like Sharon was a no homo and Sharon was abusive. But also just people just actively shitting on her for no reason at all apart from the fact they didnt like her not even trying to justify it.

Which again is nothing all that new. What makes it stand out imo are a few reasons.

1. Social Media being integrated- before the social media spread for fandom ships would be more diverse. There would be communities for specific ships or fiction archives and it was easy to avoid ships you didn't like. Sure if your ship was involved in a major shipping war or people were talking trash about it you could still know but the exposure to the drama wasn't always inevitable. But now if fans of more popular ships occasionally shit on your far less popular ship even if its only like 5 percent of the fans of the more popular ship that outnumbers your entire fandom. So you get drowned out for amount of content and then when anyone looks for content for the unpopular ship they mostly get negativity and its very hard to avoid.

2. MCU being such a huge fandom. Not marvel comic characters specifically the MCU and Steve being kinda a fandom bycycle. There was a good chance if you were in this fandom you had a favorite Steve ship and if you were a MCU fan primarily not a comics fan ( which let's be honest many were during hieght of Sharon drama) then that ship probably wasn't Sharon. I know in general people like to say it was primarily Stucky and Steggy fans throwing shade. But that was mostly because those were two of the biggest ships with Steve. Other Steve shippers did too. It was just that there were just less of them so it seemed like it was just Stucky or Steggy. For a while it was just a thing to shit on Sharon for not just Stucky or Steggy fans but like it was a MCU fandom thing. And the reason for this is-

3. The lack of MCU Sharon and Steve x Sharon fans. There were a few comic Sharon and SteveSharon fans. But not MCU ones because Natasha and Peggy had taken alot of comic Sharons moments and character. It was really common to see arguments like oh I love comic Sharon but fuck MCU Sharon. Why she even exist?

Pretty much all canon ships got hate. But it imo was less because they still had quite a few fans it was less cool to shit on it you got more push back. And it didnt always reflect on the characters. BruceNat was incredibly unpopular but Bruce and Natasha didnt become incredibly unpopular as a result. Sure they had haters but theyd already been established and had fans of their own ( especially Natasha). While others happened early enough and got development so the relationship got fans like PepperTony. There was hate but there was more push back for shitting on them and more people spreading love for them so the negativity wasn't drowning out the good.

But MCU Sharon and MCU SteveSharon could more easily be treated as a universal dislike by the whole fandom. Even people who didnt really care about Steve ships would joke about SteveSharon being shitty. It was just like the thing to do.

This changed when calling out mysogny in fandom became more mainstream. However those 3 reasons especially 1 and 3 remain the same except for characters too not just ships. Its hard to avoid what you dont like in a fandom on websites like Tiktok Tumblr and Twitter ( especially Tiktok) . So if negative opinions of a character are popular it becomes harder to avoid.

And MCU Sharon is still not that popular due to how MCU handling her.

I cant even say its just a ship thing anymore the vitriol continues despite her not being in any ship nor is it indicated she will be with any major character in the future. And still so many people act like they will act like they will break into hives at just the prospect of her with Bucky or Sam.

Its not just a ew girl cooties thing these same people will love the idea of Bucky with Sams sister or Yelena or someone in the Dora Milaje. Sam doesn't even have that many popular ships it basically just Bucky rn but ive seen people who dont even like this ship just see it as a friendship and have no other ships for Sam but want him to have a love interest down the line turn up their noses at SharonSam.

I will say things are definetly better than the post CW era Sharon is less the MCU fandom punching bag though she still doesnt have that much love. However more people are critiquing the handling of her character instead of being frustrated at her existence. So while I do fully believe she more than any other character could become the fandom punching bag again i dont think it will be as bad as it was in the past.

Oh, it will never be as bad as it was in 2016. There was a Sharon RP blog that one day cleared out all the hate she got in her inbox. Absolutely wretched shit was sent to her, and you could feel the exhaustion in her clearing them out. And she posted it to remind everyone that hey, liking a character doesn't equal sending fucking death threats to a person.

But the problem is the shit that the character and the fans AND THE FUCKING ACTRESS got were not only seen by Marvel, they reacted in the worst way possible. They just justified fans' actions. So while it's not the worst it has been, jesus they could have done anything but that in response.
