I know using food colors to describe dark skinned ppl is stereotypical/bad and forgive me if this is a bad take bc I am sleep deprived and feverish but I just saw a post that said it’s usually done to describe dark skinned ppl more than light skinned ppl but like that is almost definitely entirely because there’s no food colors with positive connotations that match white persons skin colors

#like now im just trying to think of positive food that matches white persons skin color #the only thing I can think of is like a cashew. but thats not positive thats just neutral #same with peanut #walnuts come pretty close but walnut (the color) is always considered to be brown #theres macadamia nut but those both have a brown shell #ig you could describe someone as the color of a macadamia nut and Im certain its been done but it sure sounds weird #theres cream and i know for certain people have described skin colors as creamy #im definitely not going to police what ppl write or speak over poc by saying whats right or wrong #but dude the reason white people arent often described with food colors is definitely because #theres no good food thats the color of white people #like try to think of white ppl colored food vs all the shades of brown foods. #her skin was the fair shade of mayonaisse #ig describing someone as creamy cashew sounds ok maybe but thats all i can think of #fuck i forgot to mention bread. i bet theres a bread product somewhere that would fit. maybe #imagine describing someone as a fresh baked croissant
