House on lane 66, Pros:Good storyline and tropes. CONS: The author supports proshippers and incest along with frans. Not that black friendly. author ignored the fact that undyne is a lesbian and made it so that she had a crush on papyrus. Author: oolongteacup426
Aggre(g/v)ation, Pros: Good storyline, beautiful writing. CONS: author supports Frans, which is a proship, not black friendly (readers hair is described as silky, straight, etc. The reader is described as pale sometimes). Author: llamagoddessofficial

Yall I just love to look at the ways people make YN in fanfics. Like each one has their own perks and flaws, their ways of choosing one of the skeletons or the others. It actually inspires me to see these dynamics and what I like or don't like for my own personal writing. Like it's kinda funny how everyone befriends Rus first, or how they make Vanilla like a genuinely awful skeleton when he's just a little guy to others. One fanfic I was losing my shit over was There's Still Magic and honestly it was one of my favorites. Still, even if there are things I would've personally preferred happening or changing, it was good for what it was. One Step at a Time was also good, it made me happy and I wish it gets completed. A fanfic I wish I could shake and rattle to be honest though is The House on Lane 66. Some really good characterization, some really good plot with excellent writing. Still, some of the stuff made me want to implode and jump and do a cartwheel in San Francisco. I could go on about it for hours when it comes to good fanfics and ones id want to throw off a bridge. No one talk to me when it comes to Six Skeletons, One Maid. Because I just

Anyways, I think I might make a post about different YN's/Readers and ask which ones you guys would like me to explore

Lodgeverse Anti-Harem Niche (Pt. 2)
Briefly put, I got into the anti-harem niche through @rosescries work There's Still Magic, which led me down a rabbit hole of other works and a few of the repetitive tropes I've seen are (1) reader-insert is down on their luck and gets contacted by former associate (can't even say friend most of the time) who is slightly obsessive of them because of how meek or easily manipulated they are; (2) Reader-insert is only staying at the Lodge for a semester, or a limited period of time, while they get a degree and in the mean time are swamped with work and school and volunteer stuff, which the love-interest of the Lodge skeletons (with the exception of Mutt {Swapfell Papyrus} usually since he is usually uninterested or uncomfortable with them) takes full advantage of to make themselves look good; (3) The Lodge (again, usually excluding Mutt) do their best to make reader insert as uncomfortable as possible, be it with jabs or threats, etc. They are not kind because they are either (1) 'defending' love insert, (2) 'correcting' reader insert mistakes, (3) don't like humans (other than love insert, which is hypocritical), or some mix of the three; (4) Those outside of the Lodge (with the exception of Mutt {Swapfell Papyrus} since he doesn't blindly follow the love interest, who the rest of the lodge is dating or on the verge of dating) can see through them to a degree where they aren't immediately tricked.
That being said, I love this archetype, but it also made me want to explore how it could get so bad and the after effects of living through the trauma of being in a hostile environment for a long period of time and suddenly being able to get away from it all.
Constantly placating people in hopes of avoiding a confrontation is exhasting, so it's easy to imagine how reader insert (let's call them Aconite) is constantly using their school/volunteering/work as a form of escapism and any where that isn't their room or away from the Lodge is treated like a mine field. Aconite is constantly on thier tip toes to avoid setting the skeletons off, or worse. the love interest who could set off a chain reaction to set off the skeletons.
I could see the aftermath of them leaving the Lodge (as far as money could get them) and having to unlearn the paranoia and people pleasing tendencies they've had to learn to basically survive their experience at the Lodge.
As for everyone else there, I could imagine that things don't get better when Aconite leave, in fact I think they would get significantly worse since a majority of the bonding that occured would be from 'a common enemy' - and since there isn't an enemy for them to bond over, i.e., the love interest and the skeletons, things get sour pretty quickly as things don't line up now that there isn't anyone to blame.

thinking about how, as a child, kaz’s favorite trick seemed to be watching something disappear, and then he grew up and fell in love with a girl who could vanish into thin air, and how we’re told that when he looks at inej, he feels like a boy again and believes that there’s still magic in the world. imagine loving magic all your life, and then discovering that magic loved you too.

Lodgeverse Anti-Harem Niche (Pt. 1)
To try and summarize, I really got into the 'reverse-harem'/'mislabeled-villianess' fab that happened a while back with Undertale fanfics - specifically, with what I like to call, the 'Lodgeverse' archetypes - where Sans' and Papyrus' from multiple timelines/alternate universes get stuck in a pacifist timeline where the 'original Sans and Papayrus made it to the surface and monsterkind has integrated into society, for the most part, and as they're trying to fix 'the machine' (which is stood in for what was in Sans' lab/basement) to get back to their worlds with varying degrees of success (albeit not much since they keep bringing over versions of themselves).
Anyways, a while back a bunch of people made a reverse-harem twist on it where a bunch of different versions of Sans' and Papyrus' would fall for reader-insert, who happens to bedown on their luck most of the time, and take them in and love them, etc., etc.
But then people put a twist on that and made it so they would fall for a random human, but said-human would be super manipulative or super awful and reader-insert would be treated super harshly for varying reasons, the most common being that the 'love-interest' would take creadit for reader'insert's work like chores or fixing up clothes and just generally try to make themselves look better by blaming reader-insert for everything that went wrong around the lodge.
Another thig to note is that there is a weird 'unspoken' heirarchy happening at the same time, since the skeletons don't want anyone to know they aren't from the original timeline/alternate universe, so everyone goes by nicknames, except the 'original' Sans and Papyrus sometimes depending on how weird Sans is about the 'You're not from here so you can't be me' thing he has going sometimes. This along with the fact that they've brought over so many skeleotns that they either (1) can't fit into the same house or (2) can't get along long enough to keep the roof from collapsing in from all the fighting they do.
This has resulting in dividing them into 'factions' (for lack of a better word); There's the 'Lodge skeletons' who reside in the main Lodge (Note: They are usually squatting here since not many stories have them actually have the deed to the Lodge and they usually stumble upon it and it usually belongs to reader-insert or their dead grandparents which is... yeah) and do the most work on 'the machine', which is usually kept in the basement. They usually consist of the original Sans (Classic) and Papyrus (Creampuff), Underswap varients Blue (Sans) and Stretch (Papyrus), and Underfell varients Red (Sans) and Edge (Papyrus).
The Swapfell brothers, Black (Sans) and Mutt (Papyrus) can get iffy on whether they are included with the Lodge skeletons. For most of the anti-harem stories they are usually still in the Lodge, but for others they beef too much with the Underfell brothers and leave for a cabin nearby the Lodge.
Then you have your, what I like to call, the Cabin Crews who (1) live nearby the Lodge but not in it, (2) or don't work as much on the machine, (3) or don't get along with the Lodge skeletons, or some combination of the three. Most would include the Horrortale brothers, Axe (Sans) and Crooks (Papyrus), who are usually treated as outsiders in the antiharem stories who get new nicknames by the reader-insert because (1) plot, and (2) that's a pretty messed move to call them that. Others can also include some 'Bad Guy' varient and/or other timelines/alternate universes would sometimes make it in for plot or just because the author likes them.
