How do you think P would react over finding out Reader likes to sing? Is a duet incoming in the walls of Hotel Krat?

P with a lover who's a singer! ☆

↳ Anon this is adorable! I'm tempted to write a fic about something along these lines at a different time, but for now have some hcs :]

➸ Pinocchio finds out you sing on one of his return trips to the hotel. His attention is first grabbed by the sound of the piano, its' notes greeting him upon his entrance, and being the artistically inclined man that P is, he naturally follows it. His attention is secondly grabbed by the faint sound of a voice, half hidden by the keys and only to be properly made out that's yours when he's standing in the doorway of the library. He makes eye contact with Antonia, who sends him a smile before turning back to you, who either hasn't noticed that he's there or simply doesn't care. He supposes it to be the former, too engrossed in what you're doing to pay attention to the outside world.

➸ He, very quickly, ends up the same. Dead glass eyes watch intently as your hands glide over the keys, something akin to life sparking in them as he listens to your voice dance with the music. Pinocchios' initial reaction is that you sound beautiful, look beautiful. Though it would be more accurate, I suppose, to say that he thinks you both look and sound incredibly human. P has never heard anyone sing outside of Vinyls, at least not for long, so being able to not only listen in person but watch as you engage in the act of something as human as music has his gears speeding up. Something in them has changed, he's sure of it.

➸ It should come as no surprise to say that Pinocchio is immensely curious about [and attracted to, in your case] things he perceives as human. This is partially due to the fact that he sees them as a goal, something to work towards and obtain, a barrier to be broken between himself and humanity as a whole. And of course this extends to music and is one of the reasons his vinyl collection is ever growing, why he always finds himself returning to the piano. It is a little hard to tell whether Ps' appreciation of art is something inherent to him or if it merely exists because he thinks it has to. In all honesty it's probably both.

➸ Now, to grow less introspective about it all, Pinocchio also just really loves listening to you sing because it's, well, you. He is undoubtably your number one fan, though he's subtle about it. Gemini is the hype man, much to the embarrassment of P and the amusement of Everyone Else. Honestly it's not even really embarrassment on Ps' part, more of an annoyed "wow I wish you would shut the fuck up!" because Gemini has the talent of being able to bring you into every conversation and you being a singer just adds more fuel to a fire that really does not need it [Pinocchio would one hundred percent do the same though if he was more, you know, talkative].

➸ One of Pinocchios' main love languages is quality time, and honestly you being a singer is perfect for that. Most of his time at the hotel is spent just sitting and listening and watching. Something about your voice makes him feel safe, as weird as that may sound. Maybe it's the affection in it when you sing for him alone, or just how intimate the atmosphere ends up being. He's not even sure if he's capable of feeling comfort, but he wouldn't change whatever's in his chest for the world.

➸ In regards to duets, I think Pinocchio would actually be rather open to the idea. Now, contrary to popular belief he can in fact speak, though he seldom ever does it without prompting. He doesn't really see the point in it if we're being honest, yes speaking is human but his voice is so flat and honestly he just doesn't have a lot to say about things. So it's fairly safe to say P has never sung before, hell he's not even sure if his voicebox can function like that, but nonetheless when you bring up the idea of a duet he's not only willing but somewhat eager about the whole thing. There's really no rhyme or reason for it either, Pinocchio just likes the idea of doing something human with someone who makes it easy to forget he's a puppet.

➸ Now Pinocchios' singing voice is actually rather nice! Though it is, of course, undeniably mechanical. There's something off about it, at times sounding like a crude mimicry of a human, a constant stiffness and roughness to it. It falls into a sort of uncanny valley, however there is also something undeniably endearing about it, something human about how much you can tell he wants to express anything in it. As for sound outside of puppetry, Ps' voice is fairly deep but retains a certain gentleness to it, a smoothness that contradicts the stiffness in a really lovely way. And yes, Pinocchio has a sense of rhythm.

➸ Pinocchio has a strong preference for keeping your duets private. The best way to do that, in his opinion, is when you're both out in the gardens dancing together. Under the stars while everyone else is inside, chest against chest and voices in sync, the gentle twirls and turns as you both slip into your own little world. If you couldn't tell how much he values your duets before, you certainly can now. Kiss him after the song is done, won't you?

This is not an art post, just want to share you my worries. I must say - It's just thinking out loud, you can ignore it. Due to the fact that I began to draw more often, I also began to worry even more about the quality of my drawings. And drawing has become both a hobby and a cage for me. I rarely look at other people's content because I am constantly haunted by the feeling that I am not working well enough. Although I draw often and every day, I still think it's not enough. I'm trying to draw better. And it's never enough. And every day I see how people pay attention to my artworks and I began to communicate more often. I like it but because I'm not used to it, I'm stressed. And I think I should work better. For the first time in my life, I'm creating content that I'm sincerely interested in and people pay attention to. And you don't just pay attention, but ask me about my character and sometimes ask for more drawings with what I love. What I wouldn't have drawn if I hadn't been supported!!! My close friends often told me that I should draw what I like and people would appreciate it. It was appreciated, but rather as "another quiet artist who made a drawing". And this has been going on for more than ten years. More than ten years... Generally speaking, I will not stop drawing and doing what I like, but I'm very afraid that it will end soon and I'll again become "some kind of artist who made some kind of art". Debts, Bills and Japanese classes

I have not had the best of starts for 2024, with issues regarding to payments I've had to help my mom with. To help her with them, I took a loan during January which allowed us to afford what we needed, with myself banking on my Redbubble account to generate enough during the month to pay it off this month.

Unfortunately, and unprecedentedly, my Redbubble account got nuked without prior warning, and when I tried to reach out to them I was only received by radio silence, as well as not getting any of my money.

Now, I did manage to pay off a part of what I owed, however, with March coming next week the deadline will be coming back soon again. To add on top of that there are some bills that we haven't been able to afford for in total, trying to make ends meet has been significantly taxing emotionally for a good while now.

As a side note, but still related financially, I should be signing up for my next semester of Japanese at the start of March, but due to Argentina's current economic situation and inflation rate the price of my classes have gone about double of what I originally paid last year. For long time I've struggled finding anything relatively fulfilling in my life, higher education wise, this is something that I don't want to stop doing, I finally have an end goal I wish to accomplish.

I cannot offer much in return for donations, other than offering myself for drawing commissions, or simple requests, or anything. But, I need to be honest and transparent both with myself and you all as well, I cannot promise a certain deadline to which I'd be able to deliver anything I'd draw.

I have been struggling since last year with this, over the same thing of getting small requests or commissioned to draw something, things that should have probably taken me a couple of days, maybe weeks at most has taken me months to complete. My personal life has completely demoralized me from having a set mentality for my art and in turn I've gone down a spiral of inactivity, even when I'm fully aware of the problem.

If, and only if, you're comfortable with this fact, and are willing to wait long enough for me to deliver then please, request something from me. I'll be just as grateful for donations as well, and even if you can't help me financially, I appreciate that you have taken your time to read through all of this, you could still help me out by sharing this post around.

Their distinct appearance is characterised by long, trailing kimono, traditional hairstyles and oshiroi make-up. Geisha entertain at parties known as ozashiki, often for the entertainment of wealthy clientele, as well as performing on stage and at festivals, they often are mistaken for oirans(prostitutes) for the western people due to the similarities of their makeup and kimono.

Your roommate Hyunjin is slowly catching feelings for you. You get more clingy to him as he helps you through your needs and issues, he loves you but doesn't know how to show it.

A/n: this one’s kinda boring but it’s relevant. Its also quickly written so

It’s been 3 days since the storm, Hyunjin’s been trying to get my attention for the past few days, I’ve been shoving him off though.. I overreacted more than usual that night. Yes, im afraid of storms and he knows that, I feel like an idiot, crying into his arms and being all cuddley like. I appreciate his comfort but the problem is I like him more than a roommate, more than a friend; I have feelings for him.

But now i don’t even know how to start up a normal conversation with him, I’ve been ignoring him for days! Getting over him would be helpful but i can’t when I practicality live with this guy!

“Hey, I’m sorry. I’ve been avoiding you since-“ I sigh opening the door to find him sketching away some flowers, the scribbling noises stop as I finish my words, I can’t say anything else it’s like my vocal chords froze and I couldn’t talk anymore, like something was squeezing them tight from the inside of my throat.

“Oh Hey! It’s fine don’t worry about it, we all need our own time sometimes. I totally get it.” He chuckles, my eyes stare at his perfect pink lips watching them part as he slips words out of his mouth, they’re so plump! I catch myself not paying attention.

“Uh- y-yeah, thanks..” I tilt my head down in embarrassment

I end up deciding to sit down next to him I open up my phone, beginning to do my own thing and check if anyones texted me or called me about something.

Which no one has, so I just stare at my screen and try to hide my embarrassment of what the fuck was going through my head. It’s just lips, everyone has lips, why are his so intriguing to me? I hate this so much.

“Whatchu looking at?” He leans toward me, causing me to jump slightly as he rests his chin on my shoulder.

What the hell do I say? I’m literally just straight up STARING at my Lock Screen like an idiot would.

“Uh, I just changed my Lock Screen and I’m deciding if I like it or not.”

Perfect, hopefully that’ll cover up whatever the fuck I’m doing. I’m pretty sure he’s only seen my Home Screen which is outstandingly lucky for a situation for this.

“Well I think it’s awesome, Hello Kitty right?”

He grabs my phone and points at it, smiling since he knows he’s right and loves being correct with whatever the heck he’s doing.

“Yeah! Hang on, got an email from our art professor, bloody hell.” I sigh, opening my phone holding it close to my chest scanning the email with my eyes.

“What is it?” Hyunjin questions, being the curious guy he is. “Art assignment, it’s due tomorrow. Must have missed it when I was checking my emails, it was sent last week..” I lie my head back against the wall groaning in disappointment.

“Well we should start now.. it’s tomorrow after all.”

He snatches my phone reading the assignment out loud. “team up with someone in your class on a collaborative acrylic painting, the canvas can be any size it’s your choice.” Hyunjin gives my phone back, his face scrunching up as he thinks of ideas.

“Oh I know! We could do a painting of a fairy resting in a flower, I could do most of the fairy and you do most of the flower!” I smile, hopping onto his lap in excitement, pushing down on his shoulders and looking into his eyes with a twinkle in my own.

“Oohhhh.. that’s a great idea, we should start now though, we don’t have much time.”

“Yeah. Good idea”

Yay Yipee I Finally Remembered I Should Update Folks On Things That Are Happening

because hey whoops as some of you might remember Supposedly I Stream Sometimes! That Uhhhh Hasn't Happened In A While Has It! so I should probably let folks know what's goin' on!! the long and the short of it is

Around late November/early December I started having issues where Discord would crash and restart anytime I tried to screenshare my capture software with my friends who I stream with. This put console game streams (so 2/3 of the games we were streaming) on the backburner till I could troubleshoot and solve that issue

On top of that it was Fucking Finals Season for me at my Graduate School so at a certain point I had to be responsible and focus on getting my final projects & essays done, which meant sacrificing stream time till my break (where I would hopefully have time to troubleshoot and then do a ton of streaming to make up for lost time)

Except THEN literally the second I went home for the holidays my hard drive abruptly and completely died. It is very possible that this contributed to the aforementioned tech issues

I was able to replace the drive and get my computer working again but because I have a Fucking Curse a lot of tech-side things were lost or started experiencing issues due to the new drive, namely A) I haven't been able to get my capture software working yet and B) whoops my entire OBS layout is just gone now I guess

This whole saga, on top of juggling other life shit and work and the like, effectively ate up my entire winter break

so tl;dr! I have a computer curse and because of it streams are gonna have to wait till I can get both OBS and my capture software working again. I'm hoping to work on that this weekend so I can be back to streaming next week, but given my school & job workload I'm guessing it'll more likely be two or three weeks. On top of that, I won't be streaming most of March due to reason of "my partner is visiting then". all of this sucks cause I want to be streaming, both for reason of "i like spending time with my good friends doing this" and "haha whoops I'm not earning money now and oh boy there sure are a lot of expenses flying at my head like rocks huh".

I've already rambled a bit more than I'd like to now so here's da main points:

Streams will (HOPEFULLY) be back in February. When they are, they'll be Monday & Tuesday nights, 5:30pst/8:30est, for as long as my friends remain available at those times (we're all adults having to look for or maintain Day Jobs so availability could change. y'all know how it is). I may also do occasional one-off streams on weekends as my energy 'n schedule permits, most likely art streams

I'll continue to be around on Holly's streams Fri/Sat/Sun as her schedule permits, because I don't have to rebuild OBS from the ground up for that

There is a 99.99% chance I'll be totally absent stream-wise during March

Even though streams are facing The Troubles I am still taking art commissions! Those haven't been affected!! You can submit an interest form here and I'll reach out to confirm prices as soon as I'm ready to start work on yours

hello everyone... i know i haven't been very active at all, i won't get into the reasons for it but i should hopefully have some new art to throw at you soon 😭

Intrinsic Values in the Birth Chart

What are intrinsic values, and why are they vital?

First, let's review the complementary values since they're easier to discern. We tend to believe that values are things of worth that can be measured or held in regard due to the benefit or gain they provide. These are extrinsic values. For instance, money is an instrument you exchange for goods and services and doesn't give pleasure by itself, so money is an example of an extrinsic value.

However, for something to be intrinsic, it is in its own right or in itself; in other words, something that belongs to itself naturally (inherent or innate). An intrinsic value is then something that you value for its own sake. If something offers no reward other than itself and you still value it, it's probably an intrinsic value for you.

Suppose you pay for further education you're passionate about or purchase a book that teaches you something you're interested in. In that case, learning may be its own reward and an intrinsic value.

If you're watching a movie with someone who isn't enjoying it, would you rather they be honest and say so, or would you prefer being told otherwise? If you appreciate the honesty and don't get anything else from it, perhaps it's also an intrinsic value.

Let's say that creating art is a pleasurable experience for you. You would do it even if you didn't profit from it. You would still do it if you couldn't share it with others. It could also be an intrinsic value if you enjoy it regardless.

How about your boss presents you with a task to complete? Would you prefer to be told how to finish it, or would you figure it out yourself instead? Taking the lead is likely an intrinsic value if you have more fun managing the project.

Why are intrinsic values important? Determining your intrinsic values can help you approach your true self. What is your true self? Ask yourself, "Who do I want to be?" Think about the kind of person you want to be or why you do the things you do; this differs from what you want to be, like an identity formed around a profession or calling, and is also separate from who you should be, which is motivated by a need to fulfill expectations.

Having knowledge of your intrinsic values in advance can make it easier for you to remember how to act or respond genuinely to unfamiliar situations versus following a path of least resistance. By pursuing that which is intrinsically rewarding, you have the motivation to sustain your aspirations and know when to withdraw from expectations.

An awareness of these can also help you be honest with yourself and truly enjoy the activities you like for what they are instead of needing to justify why they are good for you or others. Once familiar with your intrinsic values, it's easier to map out your lifestyle to orient towards your true self and support you in structuring your contribution to the world.

We have defined intrinsic values and have discussed why they are essential. So what's the next step? Let's see if we can determine these from the natal chart, particularly the planets.

The Moon allows certain feelings to arrive within you when you do or have that which is intrinsically valuable. This function helps you recognize conflict in your internal awareness to better provide for you but probably does not indicate intrinsic values.

Hiiii!!! So I'm super late on the Midnight Mass train but I just spent the last two days binging it, which I instantly followed by jumping on Tumblr and AO3 to look for fics for our beautiful Hassan. Unfortunately, I can't say that took up more than 2 hours of my time: I literally scrolled to the end of the tag on here and there bc there is so little imagines for him. Frankly, you make up about half of that writing, and for that I BLESS YOU 😭 I know you said you're a bit swamped with life and stuff, but if you had the time I'd love if you could bless the tag with a new fic?

A/N: I'm so glad to be back! This is a little bit of a mess, but Hassan is here and he's ready to be loved!

The Crockett Island treasury was small, if not totally lacking. You might as well have been treasurer for the student council. This required meetings every Tuesday of the month. More if a vote was taken to have another meeting.

There had been a meeting almost every Tuesday since Father Paul's arrival, all revolving around the role of the Church in the community. You want to tell Bev that she needs to stop trying so hard to drum up business for the church, and it was unlikely that the locals would change their mind.

She should know this, as a local.

You were a part of the population that didn't attend Sunday service, and it had become a point of contention between you and your co-council member, and you weren't going to budge.

Simply put, you find it better to be alone. If you believe in some genre of God, this is your private time. If not, then it's a time to clear your head. Either way, it doesn't involve the mousy redhead, who had been making everyone more tense than usual.

"Finally," Bev starts, "a fantastic new idea from, our newest addition, Father Paul." Bev claps lightly, and a handful of people join in, only for a beat or two.

And you're not paying attention to the meeting, just because Beverly Keane has a talent for losing a crowd.

What brings you back to earth is Hassan. He's good at doing that. He's sitting next to you in the ancient school desks that you were all forced to sit in, due to lack of an auditorium, or any meeting place in town.

You weren't paying attention, and, as usual,

"Isn't that what...your people do?" She gives a pointed look at Hassan.

Bitch.

Ice water seeps into your veins, and you clench your fists. You did have something of a temper, but not right now. Not in front of him.

"His people? Aren't you from Harlem?" You ask, a small chuckle spreads across the room.

"Yeah." Hassan replies, voice soft.

"And so, in front of Crockett's finest, I ask, Madame Treasurer, to fund Father Paul's idea and add Religion to our High School curriculum."

Father Paul, mid-range handsome, and pathetic, stared at the wall, looking for something only he could see.

All eyes turn to you, "Bev, I'm not using town money for the Church's benefit. That's unethical."

"How, pray tell, would it be unethical to help tame our wayward flock? You see these children, with their internet, and TikTok."

"Yes, and I also know the US Constitution calls for a separation between Church and State. And adding bible study to the curriculum is stupid."

"How so?" She's seething. She's perfected the art of hiding rage under smiles and a grandiose tone, but you knew her better than that.

"Adding a bible study to our High school curriculum is not only a strain on a teacher who should definitely have retired, but goes against the US Constitution."

"So, you won't release funds." It's not a question, it's a confirmation.

"No."

If looks could kill...Beverly would have massacred the whole room.

Slowly, in measured steps, you get up from the creaky wood desk, and make your way to the front of the room. Now technically, you were already supposed to be there, but hey, who's paying attention?

You feel a sudden vice grip on your wrist, and the redhead pulls you in.

"He only wants you because your convenient," Beverly dropped the worlds carelessly, just under her breath. You flash for a moment, on the Wife.

Farrah, the woman who's husband you woke up to every morning, before leaving out the window. The woman who's son hopefully didn't know you existed.

"If people need to find God, they don't need to go through you." You shoot back, heartbeat pounding in your ears.

If you had been in high school, you would have dragged her out into the hallway by her stupid braid. But you're an adult, and your...something, is a cop.

"And I think, that's all for tonight folks, right Dwayne?" Dwayne, the Mayor blinks, and before he can respond, "Goodnight everyone!" You practically yell into the small room, before stepping out under the pretense of "beating traffic."

The night is cold and muddy, and you want to forget about the words she said. But you can't. You can't defend what's not yours.

She makes it too difficult.

Beverly's quiet, little jabs, scattered enough to be accidental, but pointed enough to hurt. Hassan. To hurt Hassan.

No, if she ever tried that again, she'd have to go through you.

Late in the evening, there's a knock on the door.

Him. He's comfortable in his jeans, plaid shirt that you want to put your face into, but you have something to say, "Look I know we were keeping this low-key, and you don't want Ali to know, but she's just so-" The Sheriff uses a warm hand to tilt your chin up for a heated kiss.

He's warm. How is he always so warm?

The two of you claw at each other, breathing heavily. Hassan's wedding band is cold on your skin. His beard scratches you in the most delicious way, and Beverly doesn't exist.

This is more than enough. For now, at least.

You realize about an hour later that Hassan came in through the front door.

Look, it's 4 am here and I probably shouldn't post this at all but I've been thinking about it a lot for months and something that happened yesterday really drove it home so fuck it.

You guys realize I'm a real fucking person, right? My name is unforth, I run 8 art blogs because I fucking love danmei and I fucking love art. I'm not a bot. There is no algorithm. I do all the finding art, all the tagging, all the queueing, all the organization, by hand. Across my blogs I usually spend about 2 hours a day everyday on this, and that's about enough to barely keep on top of it. If I want to catch up on my huge backlog, it takes longer.

I am a real human. I have a real job. I have a wife. I have two small children (6 and 4). In the past year my wife and I have both had surgery, my son has been sick 5 times already, my kids have had to miss week upon week of school due to illness, covid exposures, car issues, and more. Four members of my extended family have had covid. I could go on, but fuck it.

I do this because I love fandom, I love art, I love artists, and I love organizing things. It's good for my brain. And it means a lot to me to help artists grow their platforms, to help get more eyes on their work, their merch, their commissions, their shops. But I also work my ass off. I own a small business I started 2 years ago that is growing, and doing okay, but has still not done well enough for me to take a single paycheck in that time (the owner always gets paid last. Everyone else gets repaid first).

This blog has something like 1800 followers.

Yesterday I reblogged a thing for my own latest project and just said, "signal boosts appreciated" and I got 1 reblog. From over *eighteen hundred of you*.

My name is unforth. I just adopted two guinea pigs. I think my son is sick again. I had to beg my dad for money to pay our mortgage this month. I've spent hundreds of hours for over two years running this blog and it feels like y'all care *so fucking little* that I might as well be invisible, a bot, a machine, a memory.

I am a real person.

And I'm about this close to saying "fuck it" and walking away from this project because being nothing feels like *shit.*

I don't need or want thanks, but yall should CARE. Not just about me, either. I've seen how few notes artists get on calls for commissions, on their shops, on their personal projects. We're all real people! And no you don't "owe us" but ffs common courtesy suggests if you like what we do you'd help all of us get more eyes on our stuff. Folks say they want more indy art, indy stories, queer creators, on and on, but act like even giving a project signal boost is asking too much. Unfortunately both toons are outcast because of their respective 'quirks'. However, to their surprise, one person does support them through it all! They weren't expecting it to be this absolute nervous wreck of a cog who is, surprisingly, very very silly and toon-like! She clings to them like glue, but they appreciate it so much!! I feel like toon Chip and toon Misty would both be very sad very lonely toons, perhaps becoming more prone to bouts of low laff and poor health as such from such a poor mental state. However, they've got each other now and Chelly too!! Just like how the normal toon Chelly's health was pretty shit due to her mental state but improved having Chip and Misty around, she's now able to pay that love back ten-fold in this au!! Hehe it always comes back to 'love heals' with me <3

Opening Cutscene 

The Toons enter the doors at the far back of the building, leading them to the real cog clinic inside. The Mechanician is seen speaking to a Flunky. Neither cog seems to notice their approach, as they are focused on their consultation while the Toons get closer.

“...and that should do it then, little sprout!”

 “Are you sure this is alright, Ms. Honeywell? Wouldn’t the Chairman get angry over that?”

At the Flunky’s concerns, the Mechanician fiddles with her hands. She shakes her head before re-addressing the Flunky.

“...R-Right. He may see it as ‘slacking’, but… well. You know how I feel about that. Just… try to heed my instructions to the best of your ability.” 

“Whatever you have the room to do, okay, bud? Remember, your health comes first.”

“Yes, ma’am! Thank you again.”

The Flunky begins to fly away, and with a nod, she sees him off.

“Of course. Come back any time!”

The Mechanician sighs, shaking her head.

“Ugh. You’d think that man-baby would realize sooner… without us all, he’s…-”

She trails off, turning upon noticing the Toons. She startles, letting out a squeak at their presence, but tries to relax herself to make conversation with them.

“Ah! T-Toons?! Uh- Ahem.” 

“Um… hello there! Are you… perhaps here for a check-up? I apologize, but… um, ahaha.. I-I only know how to treat cogs.”

“Unless you… have an appliance in need of fixing? I can do that too…”

The Toons get angry. The Mechanician pulls her hands up to her chest, taking a few steps back, clearly nervous.

“Eep! O-Okay, message received… U-Um… oh, look! Is that, um, a doodle pup?”

The Mechanician gestures behind the toons. The Toons turn around to look, all confused when they see nothing. The Mechanician begins tip-toeing away while they’re distracted. One toon looks back at her and exclaims as they see her try to sneak away. She yelps and breaks into a panicked sprint, running off into another, much larger room room further in the building. The Toons make chase.

She runs into a storage room and to an emergency escape door. However, before she reaches it, a stick of TNT thrown by a toon lands in front of the door. She startles and stumbles away from it before it explodes. The exit is now unusable. She turns, and the toons have caught up to her.

“Oh no… wait, h-hold on..! Surely we can talk things out civilly, r-right?! I… I really don’t want to fight you!”

The Toons refuse and begin to approach, the Mechanician backing up towards the wall as they close in.

“N-No, please!! I don’t want to hurt anyone… please don’t make me! I… someone, help!!”

The Mechanician reaches into her pocket, pulling out a panic button and pressing it with shaking hands. Once she does, two cogs promptly fly into the room, landing at the Mechanician’s sides. The battle begins.

Ending Cutscene (Mercy)

The Mechanician reaches to her power core, hand hovering over it shakily. She is clearly in immense pain, her panic now reaching a boiling point as she realizes how injured she really is. Suddenly, her hands clench into fists and she quakes through the pain, knocking the toons off their feet. The quake doesn’t damage the toons, however.

“STOP!!!! THAT.. IS QUITE.. ENOUGH!!!”

She shakes her head, pulling her hands to her chest protectively and looking at the Toons as they rise to their feet.

“Why…?! I’ve been clear from the beginning that I didn’t want to fight! But… B-But you just won’t LISTEN!”

Her hands rise, holding her head in distress.

“Wh-What do you even get from this… from hurting me?!”

The Toons do nothing.

“I… I get it. This war. It… must be so stressful on you. On all of you.”

“B-But… I’ve been careful… so, so careful!”

The Mechanician turns her head, looking away from the toons for a moment before turning back to them.

“I… I know we’re *supposed* to fight toons, but… I’ve never seen the point. All of this violence is ridiculous to me.”

“All I’ve ever wanted was to stay on the sidelines, and to help those who were hurt.”

“I mean… I’ve never even gone out and fought toons before, anyhow! ...So… why? W-Why me?”

The Toons do nothing.

“...Ah. So that’s why. You see me as a threat… because of what I do for my fellow suits?”

The Mechanician shakes her head in disappointment.

“Have you Toons ever put yourselves in a Suit’s shoes? A-At least… just for a moment?”

“If you did, you’d understand. I… I understand the plight you Toons go through.”

“However, you’re not the only ones suffering. Whether they fall low or high on the chain of command… we all hurt, just the same.”

She pauses, wincing in pain herself. She’s visibly twitching and glitching out.

“Wh-What, do you think we deserve for our pain to stick forever? That no-obody should help us when we’re hurt?”

“......”

“Could you i-i-imagine it yourself? Feeling like gravity’s about to crush you… i-into small, mushy, toony bits?” 

“Where… where all yo-o-ou can do is panic, and hope? Because, at th-that point, there’s nothing you can do? No way to mov-ve, or call out… or anything.”

“...You’d want your fe-ellow toons to help you when you’re hur-ur-hurt and scared, wouldn’t you?”

The Toons do nothing.

“...Right. I’d h-hope so. At the mo-oment it may be all f-fun and games… and I wish it st-stayed that way. B-B-But we.. all know that isn’t the case.”

The Mechanician sighs, twitching more heavily than before.

“...”

“W-Well… perhaps this experience has.. given you some food for thought.”

The Mechanician pauses, seeing an opening in the roof from the battle. She looks at the Toons one last time, expression saddened.

“Now… i-if… if you’ll ex-excuse me. Seems… this repairwoman… n-needs some repairing, herself. Please… if you can help it… d-don’t come back.”

The Mechanician moves to fly away, but one of the toons walks ahead of the group, pausing near her. She pauses, watching the toon for a moment, before nodding.

“It’s okay, I understand. I-I-IIIIIIIIIII-”

“..I forgive you.”

The Mechanician flies away.

Ending Cutscene (Defeat)

The Mechanician reaches to her power core, hand hovering over it shakily. She is clearly in immense pain, her panic now reaching a boiling point as she realizes how injured she really is. Suddenly, her hands clench into fists and she quakes through the pain, knocking the toons off their feet.

“STOP!!!! THAT.. IS QUITE.. ENOUGH!!!”

She shakes her head, pulling her hands to her chest protectively and looking at the Toons as they rise to their feet.

“Why…?! I’ve been clear from the beginning that I didn’t want to fight! But… B-But you just won’t LISTEN!”

Her hands rise, holding her head in distress.

“Wh-What do you even get from this… from hurting me?!”

“Gh-!! ……Heartless… y-you’re all heartless!”

Still no luck with Etsy 😭 😭 😭  My best friend's son has an Etsy store and she said that I can send my listings to her and she'll have him put them in his shop for me. He is saving money for his top surgery, so I can try and promote his art too and hopefully help him get more sales too. He is wildly talented so that won't be difficult. Still, it's not ideal. I'd rather be in control of my own business. I mean, I am appreciative, it is an incredibly kind offer but my friend has so much on her plate and I hate to add to her load. She assures me it's not a problem but I still feel like it's an added stressor that she doesn't need, plus I want to be in control of my own business. I want to be able to know what is being posted and when. I have been looking into it and I have narrowed the reason for my suspension down to two possibilities, one more likely than the other. First and the one that I doubt it the problem it that my Etsy account is in my maiden name and my bank account is still in my married name because I am lazy and never bothered changing it back when I got divorced. I can easily prove that by showing them my divorce certificate if that is the problem, or even change the account name if it is really such a big deal. The more likely problem, I think, is that I was using a VPN because I live in Australia and LOTS of the shows I like don't stream here so I often have to pretend that I live in the UK or US if I want to see them. I was watching Masters of Sex while I was setting up my store and it didn't even occur to me that it would set off alarms with the Etsy bots. Oops. I have an email address that I can write a very apologetic letter to and hope that I get someone sympathetic who will give me another chance but if not... I don't know. Maybe when my son gets home from interstate I could set up a store using his details, but then I have to come up with a new shop name. Do you know how long it took me to think of a name for the one that got suspended? I mean, to think of a name that wasn't already taken? Approximately six thousand years. Fuck. If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to throw them my way. I looked into selling elsewhere but there isn't really anywhere that has the same reach as Etsy. I am already at a disadvantage with such a niche market. I mean, I am not opposed to making other themes if people request them but Good Omens and Shennant are my hyperfixations and left to my own devices, that is what I like making. So if I take my weird little GO, DT& MS dolls to a site than no one has heard of, I figure I will never sell anything unless I bec0me really, really amazing at marketing. It's funny because when I was at Uni, I was always the one that got put in charge of all the bloody marketing projects and I hated it. And I still hate it. I'm terrible at it. All because I made one decent poster once. God, I whine a lot. I did sell a couple of old paintings this week so that was good. Like the grown up I totally am, instead of using the money to pay the electricity bill that is due next week I bought David Tennant boots. This time next week I may not have a light source or heating (I live in Queensland, we don't need heating) but I will have cool purple Docs. I'm just joking. I will pay the electricity bill. I'm trying to write a fic with KvZ as the focus and you depict him so well with your art, I kinda want to ask for your opinion on him and Genshin and their relationship (huge GnKnt shipper here) just to get a different perspective and more depth into what you think of them. I love how you portray them both and I'd appreciate hearing what you think.

Also as an amateur artist, if you could give me any art tips about drawing like you do, especially with all the symbolism and metaphors, I'd really appreciate it.

Thank you! But you give me too much credit. I’ve mostly just drawn variations of the two standing in the dark [gestures to img below]. Admittedly, I haven’t thought too deeply about their relationship beyond Klimt’s mental decline (and how that affected the people around him) and their final duel. But if it’s anything, I view them both as impulsive and emotional. I don’t really have a solid opinion on the matter of their marital status. Sorry, I just enjoy seeing guys who are doomed by the narrative be self destructive and tear their lives apart 🤷‍♂️

As for art tips— I don’t know how experienced you are, but regardless of skill level, you should have a good grasp on the fundamentals (eg: values, proportion, perspective, line quality, etc.). Once you have a handle on the basics, drawing from life, doing master copies, photo studies, etc. helps further develop and hone your skills.

I don’t have any good resources explaining things, but search around; there's plenty of free art learning resources online. I’ve heard good things about Proko on youtube. It's also good to look at artists of different styles, mediums, and eras. That way, you can learn from analysing their techniques and you can develop a style of your own.

A small word of advice— if you're still a beginner, don't get too caught up on the details and on complex techniques. Those things will come in due time (or if you want to push yourself, but I don't really recommend force. you should enjoy creating art). Beautifully rendered art with unintentional poor proportions and composition sticks out like a sore thumb (unless you don't mind, then you do you).

Explaining my creative process is tough since most of it just kind of happens, so I’m sorry if this comes out incomprehensible. For me, when it comes to symbolism, it’s basically analysing the character and what situation you want them in and honing in on specific ideas. Let’s use these pieces for example:

Kazuma has an association with snakes because his family crest represents snake eyes. Here, I’m using the snake to symbolise his hatred, which stems from his father's death. On the left, he wields it. He's seemingly calm and under control. The snake is ready to strike. To the right, his hatred spirals and nearly consumes him. It's the demon inside him 🤓

Besides the obvious of what happens in their story, some things you can draw from is how a character presents themselves, perspectives, occupation, hobbies, personal effects, cultural/religious/societal/etc. background, conflicts, era/location, etc. But other than that, symbolism can be incorporated in smaller, subtler ways, like the way someone holds a bottle, how an article of clothing is worn, and the like. Watching movies/tv, reading comics, and other media helps. Pay attention to how the director/author frames and lights things 👍

Hey, I love reading your stand user headcanon! I was thinking if I could request la squadra with member who is a civilian with no stand at all? They're like your average joe at first, but their iq is literally over 9000. They could accurately predict stand abilities and go 1v1 with a powerful stand user and outsmarts them with normal weapon and martial arts. How did Risotto finds them? What the rest of hitman team thinks about them?

La Squadra W/ Intelligent, No-Stand Reader

Risotto:

Risotto is unimpressed with your presence on his team – confused about how you were expected to stand up against stand users without an ability yourself.

It’s not that he doubts you but he’s seen far too many casualties lost to a power that they can’t see. It’s a guilt he struggles with internally.

Taking on the rest of his squad wouldn’t do much to convince him and it would require a fair level of convincing to do something impactful on the team.

If you prove yourself useful with predicting stands, he’ll put you in the field as long as you’re out of the line of fire. You’ll work with everybody, including him.

He’ll appreciate your weapons usage and will provide anything you want through Metallica though a direct fight with a stand user will remain rare with him around.

Formaggio:

Formaggio is quite eager to have a teammate who can’t see his stand. He looks forward to being able to mess with you easily.

Your abilities will probably be demonstrated from the moment you meet him due to this, leaving him no chance to doubt what he’s told you can do.

He’ll eagerly challenge you if you want to prove how you can take on a stand user, confident in his abilities against somebody who can’t see them coming.

He won’t mind having you with him on missions. He won’t pay you much attention, allowing you to handle yourself almost entirely.

He has a fair level of confidence in your abilities and may even brag about you when taunting other stand users into fights – unintentionally dragging you into these.

Illuso:

Illuso finds himself more curious about you than anybody else who’s been assigned to their group. You’ll likely feel very watched even if nobody’s there.

He’ll be impressed by your abilities after seeing them in action and he’ll tell you as much, though you will be unsure if he’s being sarcastic or not.

If you offer to prove your talents by sparring with him, he’ll deny you. Man In The Mirror’s strength lies in being able to remove advantages and he can’t do that to you.

You won’t need to convince him to bring you along on his missions. If you’re available, you might not even have a choice.

The two of you will be very well suited for one another. Once you find your natural rhythm, he’s likely to become your partner for the majority of jobs.

Prosciutto:

Prosciutto is unimpressed by your addition to the team. He sees no purpose to you being added, even if you can outsmart stand users.

He doesn’t care about what he’s heard and remains firmly in the stance that you don’t stand a chance against some of the things that he’s seen.

Should he consider you too confident, it will take little provocation for him to summon The Grateful Dead in order to prove his point against you.

Protests aside, he’ll bring you on missions. At first, this is to show you what’s out there, but after he grows to appreciate your talents, it’s for a genuine benefit.

Though he’ll never be convinced that you can handle yourself in any situation, he’ll develop a respect for your performance on the job.

Pesci:

Pesci is very interested in how you managed to get assigned to the squad and he might ask the others for anything they know to help him understand.

There’s some insecurity that grasps him with your joining. He already worries about being the weakest link of the team. Somebody without a stand surely can’t be better.

He’ll watch you with the others and feel this worry. He’ll ask if you can predict his abilities despite not seeing them, becoming very surprised if you get it right.

You likely won’t go on many missions with him but, if you do, it’s a good opportunity to help him feel better about being useful.

If you seem willing, he may even ask you for advice on how he can stop needing his stand – learning how to fight others without Beach Boy’s assistance.

Melone:

Melone is uninterested in your arrival as he doesn’t particularly care all too much about abilities to begin with. You’re simply another person in the group.

He’ll be impressed by your intelligence and initiate conversations based on that, discussing various aspects of how you’ve honed your talents into what they are.

If the others want to see proof of what you claim, he’ll gladly watch from the side to see how you work (and enjoy them possibly losing).

He actively denies going on jobs with you, telling Risotto that it’s a waste of what you can do as he never gets involved in any fighting.

Though not a good match for you in terms of missions, he’ll be a strong ally of yours outside of this field and will share anything he knows about the function of stands.

Ghiaccio:

Ghiaccio is agitated by the insistence that you join the group. He worries you’ll be a further drain on finances without provide anything in return.

No matter what others say, he’s confident that you’re using guesswork and becomes sure that he can catch you off guard. He tries this regularly.

If you challenge him to spar, he’ll accept gladly though will refuse to use White Album even through taunts for the others. He doesn’t think it’s fair.

Working with him is unlikely. Even if you could tell him what other stands do or provide backup, his style of work is very based in brute force over strategy.

You can convince him that you’re not a problem for the group and he’ll even apologise for thinking as much in a quick mutter.

Sorbet:

Sorbet is intrigued when you join, more so when Risotto begins allowing you on missions. He’s unwilling to work with you for a long time, not wanting to split focus.

He fully doubts anything you or others say. Stands provide many with unfair advantages and he’s unsure any kind of regular fighting will compete.

The last of the squad to come around to you, he won’t even bother engaging with you to see if your claims hold weight. He’s made his judgement.

He won’t ever go on a mission alone with you but, if another member comes with, he might be willing to make an exception.

After a long period, he might challenge you to a single sparring match. The outcome doesn’t matter. It’s how he shows his respect for your talents.

Gelato:

Gelato’s excited about getting a new team member without a stand. He often gets tired of needing to figure out the specifics for various abilities.

He’ll believe stories but will think of them as exaggerated. His own stand is likely not suited for combat so he can respect that you don’t need one.

If you want to spar in order to prove yourself, he’s one of the first to challenge you though fighting him isn’t a great statement on how you can match immense powers.

You can expect to go on a few missions with him and if he sets situations up to watch how you handle them, well, nobody will need to know that.

Sometimes, if he’s struggling to get a grasp on a stand user, he may call you to discuss with you and see if you can help him complete jobs.

I'm going to voice a worry of mine that this ask blog is going to end up dead at some point due to various reasons. I've seen many ask blogs of this particular type end up inactive before the story is finished, and I'm merely worried if this will be one of them.

While that is a fair concern to voice, anon, you do have to realize there are a variety of reasons why it happens, most often being:

The creator has a life outside of the blog that becomes more important

Interest and time to be able to work on its fades

More applicable to this blog specifically, is that it is, ultimately, a fan-made project, and while the engagement is enough of a reward for one such as myself due to ADHD/Autism, many people can find themselves stifled should they have a stronger desire to do something they deem more productive/original

I will admit, my living situation is not Usual for most people and thus it gives me a lot of time to work on things. I live with my grandparents, so I do not have to pay bills or get my own food, and I also don't have an actual job, so I am pretty much drowning in free time--Though I do have commission work to do, and I do keep myself to a schedule for that.

However, I'll be completely honest, my energy in this blog is largely ruled by my focus and fixation in the material. There was a brief spell a while back, I think early December, where I was feeling the interest wane and it became a bit of a chore to do stuff for the blog. And trust me, I didn't like it. I felt like I was failing people if that were the case.

But the thing is... I didn't exactly expect to get this level of attention with my nonsense. Fandom as a whole, especially tumblr fandom from what I've noticed, doesn't really put OCs in the forefront, or even Fanon OCs very much, so I was fully expecting and content with maybe having a handful of regular followers watching me dance about on the stage for a bit.

Then it became this whole thing.

Now, I don't like to make promises that are dependent on the whims of my neurodiversity, because that is very much like herding cats. But I also don't exactly appreciate being told that, rather than just saying you enjoy what I do, you're already worried I won't be able to keep up the momentum. It kind of puts more of that dread on my shoulders and shame should I ever have another dry spell.

So, that being said, a couple of things I'd like to suggest that may not 100% prevent things ending before they're finished, but can definitely distract you from that worry and not place so much responsibility on me for something that, again, I started purely for fun.

Engage! You hear tumblr artists screaming it at the top of their lungs left and right, BUT THEY ARE CORRECT. I am a creature motivated by people saying they enjoy my stuff. By people proving they have been paying attention. So if you'd like me to keep up my own interest, please show yours!

Check out the stuff I do outside the blog. If you like my content, please know that this blog isn't everything I create/produce. I have other fandom characters I mess around with from time to time, I have a large variety of original stories with similar airs of drama and character-driven narratives. I've linked to it a lot, but my main is @asimplechaos, and that's where I post pretty much everything else on tumblr. While I do love this blog, and I do love making fandom content, I do also want to develop my own original content, so I would genuinely love it if people took a look because they liked my CotL stuff.

I also do art commissions, so you can provide financial support so I don't have to constantly worry about having to pause for a stretch so I can try to focus on making adopts or advertising my services in order to garner funds. They're rarely closed, and I offer a variety of things, so I can and will draw your OC if you pay me!

If this blog does start to fizzle out, I will at the very least try to, say, write up a synopsis of how things would go so the story doesn't just stop entirely. I wouldn't like that. But please, for the time being, focus on the here and now, and not worry about the future.
