"Slobo ruined the character of Lobo"
oh wow interesting choice of words from the person who later approved n52!lobo
so apparently dan didio hated slobo too why does this guy have beef with all the legacy characters? i have a growing suspicion that even if one of the titans' writers wanted to bring slobo back, dan vetoed it 😒

As someone who's read all of Jason's comics and watched all his adaptions,it's absolutely bonkers to me that most of his other stans say he has no well-written relathionships either platonically or romantically.Like hello???Him and Rose's t4t goth4goth mean4mean excellence and lowkey relathionship anarchy post-breakup?Him and Duke's easy development into chaotic and funny yet cute and healthy adoptive brotherhood?Artemis and his' bickering old married battle couple dynamic? His and Stephanie's turning into the 'grumpy goth boy and bubbly pastel girl but found siblings' trope?Dana giving black women who simp for Jason our rights while still being an interesting character in her own right? With the exception of That One Scene From Lost Days We Shan't Speak Of that's been decanonized and admitted as a mistake by it's writer,Talia being the ultimate mama bird to him as soon as he got ressurected?Do these iconic bonds mean NOTHING to y'all??????I get it,Rhato ruined Roy and Kory and that's why in my rewrite of it the N52 dosen't exist so he gets an actual team instead of just stealing Dick's friends but it's mighty curious how you usually see this take in reference to him not being ultra close to Tim or Slade or whoever's fave of the person saying it and when it comes to romances specifically,it's pretty much always a call for Jayr*y despite Jason borderline verbally abusing Roy in almost all their interactions.I also see how this may be a shock to most people in fandoms but characters roles in stories don't stop 'counting' because they're not white dudes.Jason attracts poc and girlbosses both in-universe and from ours,i thought we all knew this

Do you think dinahbabs could ever happen in canon? I think they’re so cute
If you want my honest opinion, I find it unlikely that we will ever have explicit, on page, DinahBabs content where they are openly in a relationship in the main universe.
It might happen! But I think we are far more likely to have any of the following situations:-
Dinah and Babs together in a future timeline in an event or a different world in the Multiverse that is rarely mentioned again;
Dinah and Babs keep getting written as touchy-feely best friends that is extremely easy to read as queer coding if you want to;
Dinah and Babs occasionally get outright queerbaiting moments as they are Gals Who Are Pals on page and accidentally kiss or touch the other's boobs for plot reasons.
It doesn't make sense to put them together on page for storytelling reasons. Partly because they've got other long term relationships that are on-off for both of them (Ollie and Dick), but also because honestly, the comics openly stating "and then Dinah and Babs had sex in the Clock Tower" doesn't...really change anything about their relationship or how they're written together? If there is a Birds of Prey or a Batgirl ongoing I expect I'll find Dinah and Babs effectively having relationship drama in that comic, whether or not you read it as best friends or as romantic.
The small number of times I can say that Dinah and Babs WERE broken up in the last 30 years reinforce this. You've got post the DinahOllie wedding where Dinah quit BOP and then Barbara moved the entire operation across the country so she was living 30 minutes from Dinah and sending out an operative to spy on Dinah while she was at home and out fighting so Dinah was safe? The mess that was the end of Birds of Prey during n52 where right as the book ended both Dinah AND Babs got characterisation retcons for Burnside and the band, and they were STILL all over each other and Dinah sleeping on Babs' couch while they were fighting?
What about these situations is substantially going to change if the writers make it explicit? Their writers are already in on it too (see Gail Simone)
Tumblr media
Maybe it's just me being older and growing up with media like Xena, but I would honestly rather have Dinah and Babs continue to be written the way they are, and explicit canonical lesbian and bi characters exist alongside them, than have someone possibly ruin their dynamic by putting a label on it and getting them pigeonholed.

My favorite part of this it's the very obvious attempt of Manchester to make Lex mad. I haven't have time to read the whole arc but just by these panels you can see that he wants Lex to be angry, he wants Lex to lose control, he wants Lex to be hurt.
(Warning: A lot of text)
"He doesn't think of you" it's a very clear lie. Again and again Superman (Clark) has always thought of Lex as the one behind any crime he comes across with, not to say that Clark also keeps an eye on anything Lex does because he assumes there's a second intention (and I mean, usually there is one). It reminds me a bit of Batman&Joker, with Batman constantly going to visit Joker at Arkham and ask about the crimes outside because on Bruce's mind there's no way Joker isn't involved.
For two heroes who insist they aren't obsessed with their villains, they sure tend to think *a lot* of them and constantly blame them for any crime that happens. Almost as if they wanted them (Lex&Joker) to be fighting once again.
And sure, Clark's emotions about Lex aren't equally intense. Clark is resigned and has been like that for years at this point. Clark convinced himself that Lex couldn't be saved or changed (which is hilarious considering that just some years ago DC did a whole run of Lex playing hero). Clark closed that door of memories and moved on. Clark had to move on, which doesn't mean he hadn't wanted to tell Lex the truth at some point (Smallville explores this so much better that I could do in here).
Lex, in the other hand, *has* to be in a position akin to obsessed. After all, Superman is what stands between him and ruling the world to finally make it change to his image of perfection. However I think here's where Lex is different from Joker: Joker is capable of living without Batman, turning into an agent of chaos and definetely losing his main objective, but he *can* and will keep going without Batman - see Return of the Joker for an example -. Lex? Lex would be lost without Superman.
Not in a literal matter, no. Lex is more than capable than being alive without Superman, and it has been showed that, if given the chance, Lex could create an almost perfect society. But what do you do when you finally have all you want? Lex wouldn't turn into an agent of chaos like Joker does without Batman. Lex would finally create his perfect society, he would have anything he wanted, he would be the most powerful creature. And what would he do then?
What would someone with a mind as intelligent as Lex's do when there's no challenge to defeat? This is also why hero!Lex can work so well: Lex likes to be challenged, his mind too active as to live a normal life as a business man or even president. He needs to be obsessed with a goal, whether it be kill Superman, achieve a perfect world or save people.
Anyway, I find extremely beautiful that even if it was just for a few panels, we got to see this emotional side of Lex again: Clark was his friend, and if you ask me, his soulmate. Clark and Lex were a perfect pair, and both of them ruined it in different ways, yet it was Lex who kept being bitter and kept mourning, while Clark decided to stich up his heart and move on.
Have I told you that Lex's canon reminds me a bit of the new canon regarding Talia? If you look at comics before n52, it was Lex who came off as an ex who was still in love and couldn't quite keep on, while Talia was written as still caring about Bruce but caring way more about her and the world (hence why she tries to destroy Lex). She had moved on and had her own things until recently where writers decided to write her as never getting over Bruce. It's interesting to see as a Lex fan, because Lex 100% has never been able to let go of Clark.
I'm talking too much and it's all to say that I think these panels were brilliant. Lex is exactly the type of person to break down at a lie as big as Clark's identity (again, watch Smallville!) and he would not be able to forgive this. Not easily, at least.
Clark has also been obsessed with Lex, Clark has also been hurt by Lex's lies. But there's something captivating about the proposition that the humble farmer boy decided to heal while the most intelligent man of the world decided to mourn forever.
Lex is the smartest creature of Earth, perhaps even one of the smartest of the universe, and yet he still misses his best friend. He mourns, he craves, he screams for Clark so loud that it hurts him. And he doesn't even know it, because Lex *refused* to see that Clark (his Clark!) was Superman. Lex decided to be blind, and it only made everything hurt so much more when Clark told everyone his secret.
I think that deep down, Lex knew the truth. There's no way he looked at Kon's face and didn't see Clark's soft features. There's no way Lex didn't notice that same smile on Kon that Clark used to have in Smallville. But it was easier to be blind, it was easier to pretend he didn't know.
So yes, of course Lex would get mad. He has been hurting for Superman (Clark) all these years and he gets told that the man doesn't think of him? It's natural that he would get mad. And Lex, as smart as he is, can't see that it's a half-life.
Clark thinks of him. But he doesn't think of Lex as someone to be saved anymore: He thinks of Lex as someone who has to be stopped.

What are your thoughts on the throne of Atlantis justice league animated movie? The way Atlanna talks to Orm and then him just killing her was WILD I prefer the live action relationship obviously 😭
My thoughts about that movie are mostly… not good. I hated every character in it especially the aquafam, ESPECIALLY ORM. They ruined his character and stripped away everything that made him interesting. also his design is so ugly. The only thing I actually like are the purple eyes and even that’s pushing it bc they stole that design from Garth.
Sidenote but I don’t really care much if Orm has purple eyes in other media besides the comics since his theme is purple and that color is what he’s often associated with.
Anyway, I liked Orm’s powers in it bc at least it was comic accurate — the only comic accurate thing about him. Even though Atlanna was a shitty mom in the movie, I still hated they had Orm murder her bc N52 Orm (who this animated Orm was based on) would never do that in a million years even though Atlanna was a shitty mother in the comics too.
I would’ve preferred it if they switched it to Orvax being the one murdered by Orm in the movie instead of Atlanna because Orvax was an even shittier parent than she was.
Those are basically my thoughts, sorry I’m a bitch when it comes to that movie whoops. Still waiting for a good real Aquaman animated adaptation.
Speaking of, watch the Lego Aquaman animated movie. It has some Orm in it and it’s actually a good animated version of him, no joke lmao it’s my favorite animated version of him.

What would you write if DC hired you to make a tempest/garth comic? What would be the genre, mood, setting, etc? Would it be plot focused or lore focused?
OH BUDDY
well personally i would end up ignoring n52 and rebirth so,, sorry to the like two rebirth garth stans i know but ajdgjlh
but anyway i've had this idea for a more tempest centric series that feels very like,, scooby doo ish? not full on detective series cause that's not his vibe, but like a mix of stumbling into different magical mysteries, fighting a monster of the week, and discovering different magic things! in my perfect aquafam world, koryak never died and garth got with letifos so both of them would accompany him!
in my head, this series would have to take place after the tempest series and vol 5,, tbh i'm not sure where exactly it would fall on the timeline!! all i know is that it would definitely happen after vol 5
but anyway, the series would start with garth mentally reeling from defeating slizzath, and in a "what the fuck is life about" kind of way, he decides to learn more about shayeris and his family history. at this point, he does know things, but he would want to know more about the day-to-day stuff and the culture, not just the all-powerful wizardy stuff. anyway, letifos wants to go with him <3 they aren't together at this point, but the series would provide a nice slow burn for them to be official by the end. i Know garth usually jumps headfirst into his relationships, but i would want this series to be more introspective so he would be thinking things through a lot more and have some hesitance. Anyway, once he gets to the ruins of the city, some weird ass monster jumps out and they have to fight it!! oh no!!!
i'm thinking that garth doing his little ritual thing either freed other bad guys from the fucking underwater prison dimension OR garth just,, doing magic awakens a bunch of shit cause they go "owo? someone is using powerful magics 👀 time to rise and grind!!" aldgh
so anyway, they just get pulled into fighting random monsters and protecting random people with magic. it would definitely have a silver age vibe with each issue being its own complete story (maybe occasionally spanning two or three). in regard to the overall vibe though,, yknow the vibe of the first live action scooby film? literally that! like it's grown up and there's a lot of dangerous shit going on and it goes into serious topics and has serious, darker moments, but it's also just a little silly goofy aldhg the series would start being dark and angsty then gradually get lighter as garth not only leans more into his magic abilities but also allows himself to be happy and help people the way he wants to.
it would definitely be more lore focused! i would really want to go in on insane atlantean history, magical worldbuilding, etcetc. the aquafam has a lot of good characters for the audience to learn things through, but garth will honestly always be #1 for me in that regard. that's why i would want this series to be a little more scooby doo-ish, so that garth is learning things/figuring shit out at the same pace as the readers!

JayTim for the ask game!
(turns out you did already ask JayTim 😁) Absolutely totally oh god yes
I ship it!
What made you ship it? I just love the dynamic right there! The tension, the resentment, the snark, the way Jason is fixated on Tim. It hits all the right spots (I'm talking pre-reboot of course, then the N52 had to come around and ruin everything lol)
What are your favorite things about the ship? My ideal dynamic is when a part of Jason hates Tim and would like to see him gone for good, but another wants to help him as he sees himself in Tim’s spot a few years back - he too thought to have a special place at Batman’s side, but it turned out how it did and Jason is sure the same thing is going to happen to Tim. Tim on the other hand just wants Jason to stop bothering him. He’s not affected by what Jason says about Bruce - he doesn’t think Bruce would discard him, and he doesn’t think that’s what happened with Jason either, just that Jason was a victim of the circumstances of being a kid vigilante. Only at some point, Damian comes into the picture and Tim does get discarded in favor of the “natural son”, and that puts everything Jason ever told him in a new light. Angst and complicated feelings galore!
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship Listen. I know Jason would never. He'd go to the Joker, hand him a crowbar with a pretty pink ribbon, and ask to be beaten to death again rather than being a rapist. But LISTEN. I'm a simple person. And I'm here for the noncon/dubcon, and that's how I like my JayTim (not always, like I'm always down for some fluff, but you know me). And that's why I can never find fics that suit me lol.
Ask game found here! Go grab it folks!

honestly been wanting to rant about this for a while but I truly do think the john stewart/shayera hol ship ended up damaging their characters rather than helping them.
to start, john was originally an architect before the justice league show gave him the military background. since geoff johns worked on one of the episodes in jlu, it was clear he was a jlu fan & basically incorporated that into comic john. by doing so, we ended up with one of the worst written john stewarts in history, a john that was so patriotic and explicitly said that he was willing to kill people for america. while gj does get backlash for how he was written from john fans, I do think jl + jlu should be incorporated in that too as it was what started the military origin in the first place. it's true that the show led to john's popularity but outside of that, it didn't really benefit him in the comics. plus the main reason the origin was given was because they wanted him & shayera to have something to relate to in the show which was very stupid considering john was already apart of the glc. but apparently that wasn't enough? and then there's bruce timm being the weirdo that he is, he apparently didn't like john's origin in the comics cause it addressed racism like one time. as if anyone was even asking him to do that???
Tumblr media
despite her rising popularity from the shows, dc instead decided to kill shayera off while jlu was airing during pre-n52. I do think this also links to jl + jlu having shayera go by hawkgirl instead of her comic alias, hawkwoman. i was actually surprised when I first read that comic shayera despised being called hawkgirl & I will never understand why the show proceeded to call her that. all it did was confuse people since kendra had arrived to comics two years before the show aired. it was clear that kendra had taken all the hawkgirl hype as she was the person who actually went by that alias in the comics.
Tumblr media
now I'll actually dissect the ship. for the record, I am well aware that this is an alternate universe, but despite this, I still think the ship did more damage than good to the gp's perception of these characters.
like I said, the build up towards john/shayera was genuinely good. it was the classic slowburn between partners, then friends, to lovers. but the problem is, they had to retcon a lot of shayera's background in order to make the relationship actually work. you see, the jl crew was originally planning on making katar hol (hawkman) the villain who initiates the invasion & physically abuses shayera. anyone who has read hawkworld + any comic of katar/shayera altogether would know how insanely out of character this would have been for him, and for the sake of this post, I'll be referring to his hawkworld characterization. the crew ended up pushing the idea back not because of how ooc it was, but because they were scared of the backlash from comic fans. in the comics, shayera was assigned as katar's partner in the thanagarian force, except that the thanagarian government wanted shayera to specifically spy on katar prior to their plans for an invasion. the thanagarian government knew katar would most likely resist their ideas & wanted shayera to tell them everything she finds out about him. when the betrayal was revealed, this obviously hurt katar. shayera ended up disobeying due to her developing feelings for katar & together, they stopped the invasion. the invasion in question was also being initiated by shayera's corrupt father and when you look back at it, the show was kind of bland in comparison. the show CONSTANTLY reduced shayera's character in regards to her being a love interest, not once did we ever get a moment where we actually discovered what her life on thanagar was like. which is what the hawkworld comics did. my point is: if you have to ruin a character to make a relationship work, then maybe the ship just isn't good.
and honestly this is me being nice in my analysis because nothing about john/shayera was even original writing wise. most if not all aspects of their relationship were stolen from katar/shayera relationship in the hawkworld comics and anyone who actually read them would agree with me on this.
one key point that bothered me in regards to jlu was the origin they had given shayera regarding her reincarnations. while dwayne mcduffie revealed that bashari doesn't actually exist & that it was john/shayera's feelings messing with the asbsorbacron, it's obviously not the case for the eyes of the gp. the irony is that jlu stans tend to complain about hawkman/shayera, talking about how boring it is since they're reincarnations when jlu ended up doing the same thing for john/shayera, by having chay-ara cheat on katar with bashari. this + their son, rex stewart, was jlu's way of saying john/shayera were always destined for each other. this isn't any different from the reincarnation cycle regarding the hawks, but for some reason, it is to some. what I find funny is that people genuinely believe that john/shayera pushes shayera in a 'solo spotlight' by keeping her away from the reincarnation process. when all it did was tie her down to it again but with a different man. the inclusion of bashari + rex stewart basically got rid of what could've made john/shayera's relationship interesting for shayera as a character. john's motivations to possibly get back with shayera suddenly weren't his own, which was why he stayed with vixen. it's also ironic that shayera was upset about this because like I said, jlu stans were saying that john/shayera pushed her in a solo spotlight despite the show tying her down to another reincarnation cycle.
i don't know if I can even stomach what they did to katma, that's literally his WIFE in the comics but the gp just considers her a fling now.
what's frustrating to me about john/shayera as a ship is that the ship altogether was done for nothing in the end. people might be wondering why john/shayera are never included for comics in main continuity. the answer is simple. dc editorial doesn't allow comic writers to include them. the irony is john/shayera was the only couple on the show that had the crew arguing with each other because not even they knew what to do with them lol. it was actually confirmed that a lot of the crew turned their back on the ship after the ancient history episode was revealed and that was when they began to despise the couple because they believed the comic reincarnation backstory being massacred was unnecessary (which is completely valid tbh).
comic writers have spoken about their love for the couple but being unable to write stories for them. wonderbat gets some content in main continuity so it's clear that dc editorial specifically has beef with john/shayera, which is why I think the ship was such a waste in the end. the ship is clearly popular with the gp but what was the point of pushing aside their canon love interests to the point where the gp's perception of their love lives is also skewed if the editorial in question doesn't even want to acknowledge them? as a comic fan, I'm simply annoyed that they couldn't have just been with their canon love interests instead of this mess.
*also i was confused in where people had gotten the idea that hawkman himself is egyptian (as aldis hodge was receiving backlash for being casted as carter hall) & it turns out that jlu was also responsible for this lol. I want to add that comic katar hol post-crisis was not egyptian, he had a native american mother & a thanagarian father. he wasn't even egyptian in the show, jlu had given the hawks an extremely racist/orientalist background where they were white passing thanagarians who crashed into earth and had taken over an Egyptian civilization of Black & brown people. and yes i say white passing cause they were still a different skin tone from the actual Egyptians and not even Bruce Timm's art style could hide that. just so many unnecessary changes when the comics were never like that.
this video also perfectly explains why their relationship went downhill: https://youtu.be/LgCjhZfJ704

I remember seeing panels of Jason leaving Barbara a voicemail? Is that correct? I don’t remember where I saw it but there was another panel where Barbara was talking about Jason with her dad? I think there was a hug somewhere too.
All those are scenes from the Batman Eternal comic. It happened during the n52(2012-2016) so post Rebirth (2016-) it isn't clear if it's canon anymore.
The scene where Jason and Barbara hug happens in issue #19. Dr. Falsario has used his hypnotic powers to Barbara and that makes her believe that Jason is Joker so she starts fighting him. Jason is able to make her see reason and once she realises she was fighting on of her own people, she hugs him as a sort of apology:
Tumblr media
During the whole comic's run, Batman and co. are trying to find evidence that Jim Gordon was framed for the deaths he accidentally caused during a police operation. They succeed and at the series finale Barbara is overjoyed to be reunited with her dad. Then, she admits that she almost became violent herself but a friend reminded her who she really was. The said friend was Jason.
Tumblr media
I love that scene. Firstly, because I adore Jim and Barbara's relationship. Their family bond is pretty overlooked in the fandom but they have one of the healthiest family relationships in comics. Secondly, I like the fact that Jason can be an aspiration to others. Just because he has done some morally questionable things it doesn't mean he's a bad influence to everyone who interacts with him. My darling boy, Jason, being good influence <3
The scenes I've described so far are nice moments of Jason and Barbara and show that they can have a healthy bond if writers alloy it. With that being said, I don't really like the voicemail scene because it shows Jason having romantic feelings for Barbara. A route I'd prefer DC writers wouldn't take ( during the current continuity they haven't make Jason revisit those feelings, thankfully)
Tumblr media
The reason why I don't like Jason having romantic feelings for Barbara is simple: they ruin a potential good friendship between those two characters for the sake of an one sided doomed love.
I understand why he had a baby crush on her during his robin era. He was a teenage boy who barely interacted with other female superheroes. Barbara was the older, cooler superhero girl he got to spend time with so it's only natural to admire and even like her.
But now he's grown up, the writers should no longer make him held on that crush. Because Barbara major love interest for the last thirty years has been Dick, Jason's brother. So what can writers possibly achieve by making Jason also having feelings for Barbara? I say it's time for Jason to go and purse his own love life outside the batfamily and the shadows of his brothers.
I'm glad that in current continuity Jason Todd has two possible love interests ( Rose and Artemis) that both aren't part of batfamily.

hi!! i was wondering if you had a midnighter/apollo reading list by abt chance? they r both insane n i’d love to get into them… ty!!!
hey! i basically googled a reading list and took the one i thought looked the best, so im currently using this one as reference to chose what i read. what i did at first is skip stormwatch and went straight into their introduction (in stormwatch vol.2 #4) and then the authority because i was more interested in those two in particular and i wanted to see what they're like, and i missed a lot of context and subtelty but honestly you can work some of the backstory and still have fun reading if you just want those two. however, i did later on go back and read stormwatch because of how much i liked jenny, jack and shen and wanted to know more about them, which i recommend you do. the entire wildstorm universe is pretty cool, and all of the characters get you really invested, they're all so interesting in their own way
before going into this seriously and looking for a reading list, i first read that 6 issues run where apollo goes to hell and midnighter brings him back, which is good but it is part of the n52 after dc brought the wildstorm universe into the main continuity, and i have my issues with this version of the characters now, especially because it feels like they became caricatures of themselves, were watered down a lot (especially apollo). and while midnighter is fun in the grayson run, it also ruined him a bit imo, his character and most of what i like about him
my advice is just picking up the authority and reading from there, adding stormwatch if you like the universe they're set in. also, my favorite midnighter's story is the one where he rescues cyborg pets, it's midnighter 2007 #8, and we got this which is peak midnighter

Wait Zee has slept with Etrigan? Like not Jason Blood, ETRIGAN????? When was that???
It was during the n52 era, in that “Future’s End” line. Yeah, she unfortunately fucked the demon and not Jason blood. I just…try my best to scrub it from my mind.

Anyway I hope this ruins your day as much as it ruined mine.

so sorry again for the double ask but i feel inclined to ask for my other wife, mina.
how would mina’s relationship with each of the 🧩❓s that exist be like? who do you think she’d get on with like a house on fire 😏
Don't ever be sorry!!! Tbh they're good exercises to really think about these little idiots. Naomi you really be hittin' the good good 👌👨‍🍳 *chef's kiss*
Alright but let me say this is very hard because 🧩❓ is so... Ofc very vastly intelligent and I am not. LMAO. So it's like the author (me) is creating a character (Mina) who is very smart, or brilliant in her own way so I have to do my best in not making her look bad. Like fuck. All because I'm committed to the bit. Aka romancing fucking uhhhh puzzle face.
Because I have actually thought about the different iterations of him!
But oh my god It's so hard with comic book characters though, since theirs so many different ones. And in no way am I a 🧩❓ expert flakjwer same with 🐧 so I'm always worried what if someone see's this and they're all 🤬 but then I tell myself I'm old and I simply should not care and do what I want. Because all the rest of the old people do 😂😂😂😂
I'll start with BTAS though, as always, since I grew up with it! Oh! And I will say each Mina in each universe is for that universe, or she'd be changed a little to fit that 'Earth' as DC likes to call it. But BTAS 🧩❓ is a lot more tame, at least I think he is, compared to some of the others out there. I mean did he try to murder his old boss? Yes. But his old boss did fire him and not give him credit for everything he created so... You know... And if I pull in some of the uhhh New Animated Series and comics that go with this version of him. I think it could work. There's actually a great piece in the comics where 🧩❓ he admits he has a problem and states he needs to go back to Arkham himself. Here is an audio someone made of it, the post also has a link to the comic if you wanna read it! But it's just the self awareness and you know stop setting deathtraps Mina is obv going to be all 👀😊 Like you did it, baby! You're breaking the cycle! Because she wants to root for him and care for him and be partners! I'm so sorry I will just also say she is so cheesy! She'd love to be partners or rivals with another detective- As much as she sees the good she's doing in finding you know a missing person or helping someone out with a cheating scandal (for money) she wants to be better than anyone else that might be doing the case. So she kind of sees her job as a game and would love to have someone else to play the game with, and that to her is 🧩❓
Okay, let me just get Batman: Zero Year or Capullo 🧩❓ out of the way. It would never work. LMAO. Not in probably a million years. I myself like this version of him! But what he did is the most whack-ass shit and Mina would NOT be okay with it like ever. If he ever got out of Arkham Asylum she'd probably narc on him point blank, like lock that MF back up. I don't know if you've read Zero Year (is it part of N52? I don't know the new stuff sorry flkajwer) but he basically turned all of Gotham into an entire fucking jungle, like he destroyed everything and fucking ruined millions of lives. All for what? For what? Because only the smart should survive and shit like that??? Now if they met before he did all that when he was just a 'consultant' or strategist at Wayne Enterprises, she'd probably bang him! But it would not be a relationship and after he does what he does she'd just be... Kill this mf even if he's sexy in some insane manner. She'd probably be an antagonist to him on this Earth.
Batman 2022 ehhhhhhhhhh Imma be real, I almost barely remember him when I watched that movie. It's like my brain blocked him cuz I thought he was... I don't know. It was too realistic and I see 🧩❓more camp. But Mina in that universe again would just be 'Let's swat this man.' She'd probably be the person on his forums just heckling him and when he tries to find her IP or ANYTHING on this user (her) he can't. So it pisses him off. Basically, it would not work because she does not care for incel men. That's probably what she'd see him as. Or those people that worship or are fascinated and collect serial killer items. The only saving grace is if he had, again, self-awareness of what he was doing or acting. Because Mina in that universe would understand to change things... A lot of people in power would need to be taken out. Whether by assassination or some other means like spilling the truth. But the way he goes about it, it's just not it for her. Again she'd probably be an antagonist to him actually in that Earth.
THIS IS SO LONG ALREADY I'M SO SORRY!
UMMMMMMM SPEED RUN OTHERS!?
Young Justice - I think it would work because he's so... That version of him is so soft and goofy! Mina would probably, not be okay, but would defiantly harp on him to change professions but she wouldn't impede in what he does. Even if it's bad. Like super bad where the young justice league has taken him in before. She'd be a bystander and just the one that says: "I told you so." She's waiting for him to learn his lesson cuz how he's written is much lighter and she'd be smitten by his gappy teeth and lisp.
OH and Gotham!🧩❓ That would be interesting bc she'd probably have to watch out since 🐧 literally killed one of Ed's girlfriends. But if birb is occupied with snake then... Maybe? Again she'd be like 'lol you gotta stop killing people dude uhhhh' and would more likely want to be a rival or just outsmart him than be romantic. At first. I'm sure she'd get a crush but how Ed has been written after (accidentally) killing his first GF he's uhhhh a lil unhinged. As that whole show is but lakfjwerkl
There's like telltale!🧩❓, unburied, and uhhh omg just a lot of others and I'll be honest in most of those Earths she'd be an antagonist. She's not GCPD or a cop, but she is someone who's defiantly done cases and probably found out they were victims of his death traps. And she's just like 'wtf no!' and not be okay with it. Even if she's a bit of a hypocrite and is okay with other... murders... (her friend Sophie turning people to stone lfkajwer) But there's a line!
I saved the best for last because I love Akrham! 🧩❓ I have the most ideas for them. Well, several. Like there's a good ending and a bad ending just like a game, cuz it's fun! I will just say bad ending is probably the most likely that would happen, but bad ending is just them killing each other. And in the most mundane way, or annoying way he'd see it as. Because it would not be some elaborate death trap or puzzle that does him in, or just something complex. She shoots him. They might even shoot each other. And bleed out next to each other, very possession 1981 is how I picture it. tw blood and gore if you click links alfkjwelrk (I'm sorry I'm unwell 😔) It would be in a cool setting though! Probably in one of his lairs, or he's constructing a new death trap for Batman or even Wonder City! But good ending is always him eventually becoming a Detective, like other versions of him, so in a way, he does become redeemable. I mean originally this version of him started off working at the GCPD and wanting to expose the corruption in Gotham, he just went about it all... Bad. LMAO. Also, I love how the progression through the games you see how he goes from clean-cut to just total ratification. When Mina begins talking to him she's only seen photos of him, so when he worked GCPD and when he's in his nice green suits! but when they do get to meet in person PHEW she takes one look at his pathetic, skin and bones, wet little dumbass and is just 'I need to care for him' but also be mad bc you know he's annoying AF.

alright, ships for the salty asks: #1, #5, #6, #21
salty ask list
1 - What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?
ok i just answered something like this for tts so im going to go dc hehe
i do not understand slade/dick shippers at all. i was SHOCKED to find out that this is a semi-popular ship and i am repulsed and flabbergasted. im not a fan of deathstroke in general but then when people ship him with dick i just???? hello????? yeah theyre both adults but slade is AT LEAST double his age ? and deathstroke is just a creep and i dont know why people think that sladick is like... enjoyable at all. at first i thought that this was like some ship that a few people liked and thats it so imagine my surprise when i find out theres a whole sladick side of the fandom
5 - Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?
i dont think so? i think the closest thing to the fandom "ruining" a pairing would be jayroy bc i used to like it but then i saw a bunch of ppl talk about how to make jayroy happen then roy's character had to be destroyed by the n52 and that makes me sad bc i like roy and want good things for him always :( so i still enjoy jayroy in theory, i think theyre neat, but whenever i see it it also makes me think of how they massacred my boy 💔
6 - Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?
literally this happened like last week with jaysteph asdkjfhasdf i didnt hate it but i just didnt really care about it, but then someone asked me about it and i scrolled through the tag for a bit and i ended up really liking it :')
21 - What are your thoughts on crack ships?
answered here!

maybe this makes me chronically online but. it really is soul crushing to see something youre really passionate about get warped beyond recognition or repair, and then have to see that new terrible version become more popular than the original thing. and youre trapped in this hell where not only is the thing you love ruined, but its nearly impossible to separate the original from the New version due to its popularity
