Hi Luna! I know I've been gone a long time so if you don't feel like writing this I understand❤️

What about being from our world and suddenly finding yourself in Middle Earth, but besides English you know another language that don't exist there (Ex I'm Swedish, but any language is good), so everyone is kind of baffled and intrigued by it, maybe you try and teach them a song or just a few words too? You can choose if you want to do a short story (pairing of you choice as usual) or just like a headcanon with how different characters react, the important part is you having fun❤️

Hello, lovely! Don't worry at all about being gone, I'm glad you had a chance to step away and step back whenever you felt ready! I hope you enjoy this:

“Jobbig,” You murmured below your breath, annoyance running through you as you were instructed to go get firewood for the eighth time. Usually, the schedule switched among all the Company members, rotating on who did what so no one felt like they were being singled out - until now.

Setting your pack down, you rolled out your back. It wasn’t the worst task, but it wasn’t the nicest. The scenery definitely improved your feelings about it, getting to wander through wildflowers and mushrooms as you picked up the wood ranging from small sticks to large logs and fallen oak branches. 

“What was that?” Bilbo inquired as you turned to leave. 

“What was what?” You asked, raising a brow. 

“That word, it didn’t sound familiar,” Bilbo looked so lost, brow furrowing and his nose scrunching as he wracked his brain. Elvish? No, not as tricky, and it definitely didn’t sound as harsh as Dwarvish Khuzdul. It didn’t sound like common-tongue either. 

“Jobbig?” You repeated, realization dawning on you as Bilbo nodded. 

“It’s not Eng- common-tongue,” You corrected yourself, remembering how their ways of referring to languages were different than your world. 

“What language is it?” This got the Company intrigued, halting from their tasks as Bilbo questioned you. They knew relatively little about you, and since finding out that you weren’t of this world, they were suspicious of your intentions. Now was their chance to discover more.

“It’s the language of my homeland,” You explained, a rueful smile growing on your face. “It’s called Sweden, and the language is called Swedish.”

“You’ve never spoken it before,” Ori piped up in the background.

“Well I’m the only one here that speaks it, it would be kind of useless to,” You shrugged, “It just slips out every now and then like–”

“Jogib-” Kili attempted, accidentally interrupted you as he tried to mimic the word you spoke. 

“Jobbig,” You gently corrected, your grin turning gleeful as he successfully said it the second time.

“What does it mean?” Thorin now questioned, a curious expression covering his face. 

“It doesn’t really have a direct translation, like I imagine many of Khuzdul words are,” You began, feeling flustered with all of their attention on you. “It’s a descriptor of a task?” You struggled to explain, “When a task is tiresome or tedious, Jobbig.”

“Jobbig,” 

“Jobbig,” 

“Jobbig-”

Each of the members said it, one by one, a thoughtful look on their face before Balin chimed in. 

“Would you mind teaching us more, if you are comfortable sharing?” Dwarves were secretive about their daily lives, religious customs, and especially their language, so they knew above all how important it is when someone shares a piece of their cultural puzzle. 

“I would be delighted to, Balin,” Your grin was infectious, even having Thorin cracking a smile.

Nope. I was named due to the meaning.

2. When was the last time you cried?

Uh two days ago when the Horrors were upon me.

3. Do you have kids?

Nope!

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

Sarcasm is like 98% of my humor and it really gets me in trouble sometimes. D:

5. What’s the first thing you notice about people?

Prev said vibes and I have to second that. It's hard to really explain, but I'm just always paying attention to how someone makes me feel when talking to them. I've got pretty bad social anxiety and a traumatic background so if I find someone who gives off comfy vibes who I feel safe around, that's a pretty big deal. I'm always weighing how safe I am around people.

6. What's your eye colour?

Light blue.

7. Scary movies or happy endings?

Both?

"Happy" endings is a loaded term for me. I don't always need stories to have "happy" endings, but I do want catharsis in some way shape or form. If I don't get catharsis, then why are we even here lol

8. Any special talents?

Mimicking character voice when writing. If we're going to go with a random specific talent. I like to think I have a knack for making characters sound like themselves when I'm writing fanfic.

9. Where were you born?

Portland, Oregon :)

10. What are your hobbies?

Writing (obviously), playing video games (especially survival and RPGs), discussing fiction with friends, DnD when my chronic illness is behaving, reading, making music playlists

11. Have you any pets?

Three cats :) Malka (curly tailed half feral beastie we got off the street), Patrick (orange clinically stupid sweet boy), and Rhaenyra (wee zoom zoom kitten. A menace).

12. What sports do you play/have played?

Literally zero D: we weren't really a family that did "sports" growing up. I did a bit of ballet and some swim lessons. I always wanted to do gymnastics, though!

13. How tall are you?

4'9" or so.

14. Favorite subject in school?

Absolutely any history classes (but mostly any kind of pre 20th century history!), and chemistry.

15. Dream job?

cottage-in-the-woods resident, baker of bread, ideally making enough money to support myself via any combo of my art skills.

@icarus-fell-in-spring if you don’t read their stuff already has a few series that are good reads!

@saviorsong has a mixture of stories and snapshots. She writes for the dwarves and I want to say she has at least one for bilbo or so. Can’t remember entirely but when I edited her master list I remember his name being on there. She does stuff for elves too

@melkors-4th-silmaril does stuff with their OC’s and Silm characters if you’re looking for something not wholly reader insert! They also have a couple of rp blogs that are fun to read

@red-riding I know does some stuff for sure! Headcanons and stories I believe.

“Darling, didn’t you say you were almost done?” Marcus asked you. He was sitting on a stool in front of your easel, holding a bouquet of flowers. He had been there for quite some time.

“And didn’t you say no one could model like a vampire? Perfect stillness?” you shot back with a smirk. Marcus rolled his eyes. 

“That was three days ago.”

“You’ve been there for three hours, babe.” And it was true. Though you had brought the project home from your art class two weeks ago, and he had offered to be your model last week, you hadn’t gotten started until this morning. There was just too much else to do when you lived in a castle full of vampires. Even now, the two of you were in your studio, and kept getting distracted. People walking by, the deadpan comments he kept making, your desire to be doing anything else. But the project was due tomorrow, and you couldn’t put it off any longer.

“Three hours we could’ve spent in front of the fireplace…” he trailed off, but it was enough to have you remembering how the two of you had spent the previous night. He had started a big fire in the fireplace in your room, and you had been cuddled under a mountain of blankets while movies neither of you paid attention to had played.

“Stop distracting me! I’m almost done,” you said, interrupting your own memory before you called the unfinished project done in favor of other activities. “I’m just trying to finish college…”

“Well don’t let me stop you.” He flashed you a grin, easily forgiven. You drew all your focus back to the painting, searching around for small details to edit. It only took a little more careful color mixing and a few more strokes of your brush until the painting was finished. Or at least, close enough.

“And… done! “ you said, adding one last dot of paint with a flourish. 

“May I come look?” He asked, standing up with an exaggerated stretch. 

“Of course, you began capping your paintings and gathering your brushes while he darted over.

“Y/N,” he said slowly.

“Yes?” you asked with mock innocence.

“I thought this was a portrait.” He paused, waiting for a response. You offered none. “So why is it just the flowers?”

“We’re studying botany, but you're more fun to look at! Best of both worlds?” you said with a sheepish grin.

“But while I was sitting there, I could have been… here!” He wrapped his arms around you from behind, causing you to yelp in surprise and drop the brushes you were holding.

“Then I definitely would have gotten nothing done,” you countered, pulling him around for a kiss.

A. Amari is from our world, the good ol’ “Modern Girl in Middle Earth trope oozes from her lol

B. She was brought here to help with the Quest of Erebor and The war of the one ring

C. She is guided and advised by the Valar and actively resides in Rivendell when she isn’t doing training or roaming helping those in need.

D. She doesn’t like carrots. Elrond has tried multiple times to sneak it into her diet but of course Amari has carrot senses. *though she does know about carrot cake and will eat that, but she doesnt wanna introduce it to them, in fear that they would force feed her more carrots*

E. Here in our world, she is of Spanish-Asian descent (It doesn't change when she moves to ME, but her dyed hair became her natural color in the process. So her hair was black as night here, but she colored it red- because why not. But in the process of falling to ME, her natural hair color went away and became red.)

Ok so I am presenting a snippet of a story I’ve been working on for the introduction of Amari and the Company, but it’s still in the works so I hope it's ok lol

“Having run for 3 hours straight, her hair started to wisp as they loosened from the braid it was plaited in, held back by a set of beads that her mentors crafted for her. Her clothing stuck to her thick body frame, accentuating her generous curves and muscles- had it been back home or a different circumstance, she would've been mortified and embarrassed by her disheveled appearance. The white loose cotton shirt knotted just above her navel, exposing her lower abdomen, while her black jogging trousers clung to her hips. But she didn't seem to care... After a few hours more of travel, the golden staff that was slung behind her started to shine and hum. The sound and feel halted her in her tracks, she knew she was within the vicinity of her companions. Smiling, she turned to the direction where the shine and humming were strongest and bolted down that path- unfortunately, it wasn't on a road, rather the denser under Grove where the trees were thickest.  Although she knew it was a dangerous move since the tight spaces limited movement from enemies, it was the quickest way to them. As she sped through the trees, she listened to the nature surrounding her; the chirping of birds, the rustling of beetles, and scurrying of rodents. Basking in the atmosphere she sped up her pace- excited to see her friends and make new ones. Amari was not a patient woman, much to her mentors’ dismay, but could anyone blame her? She was living the life she’d wanted and only dreamed of back in her old life. This was her chance to prove herself worthy of the gifts bestowed on her. As the staff hummed stronger, knowing she was probably about 5 minutes away from them- however she noted too how silent the woods became. Stopping, she stooped low and hid behind a fallen log, surveying the foliage. She noticed movement just by the break of the tree line. The dark silhouettes moved jerkily and looked mounted. She slowly withdrew her weapon and crept stealthily towards her targets”

So what's worse? Having a fic idea and WIP with a concept written down, or having an idea that resonates so strongly that you have to drop everything else and write it now?

I'm seeing a lot of writers struggling right now with writer's block, among other things, and just wanted to let you know that, oh as cheesy as this is, we're all in this together, and I believe in you! You can do it! Besides, your work is amazing!

I'd like the second one, honestly 😂 Just wanting to write someting so bad, but not being in the resourse for that - that is really frustrating, isn't it?

But yes, agree, I've noticed that too. Is it what spring does to artists, hm?

First of all, Bail Organa and Leia's father-daughter relationship is just ✨perfection✨.

also I saw you posting about Spirit and i am unashamedly still low-key obsessed with that movie; i had the licensed Breyer figures and everything when i was a kid

Uncle Obi-Wan is the cutest shit I'm so glad this is the content we're getting. Between him going out of his way to find toys for Luke and buying Leia things she definitely doesn't need, he'd spoil them so much if given a proper chance. He just cares about those kids so much and it's simultaneously so sweet and so sad because they're all that's left of what used to be like...his two best friends and they're both gone and fuck it's just sad.

Anyway, what I mean to say is I am very glad someone is on board with the Obi-Wan content because it's literally consuming the majority of my braincells rn.

Also listen, Spirit is one of those movies that will always stay with me. I still have my DVD from when it first came out (and I watch it on that still) and also my poster from when me and my mom went to see it in the theater when I was in first grade. The soundtrack is INCREDIBLE and the movie makes me cry so much every time. It's just an absolute gem of a movie and I think it's criminally underrated.

“Elrond?” You were in a daze, sleep blurring your vision as you blinked them open. It looked like a hallway, you noted as you felt yourself being moved. 

“Shh…” Elrond gently cooed, pressing a kiss to your temple as you curled into his chest once you realized it was him who had a hold of you whilst he continued carrying you to your shared chambers. 

“Where we…” Your words drifted off as sleep threatened to overtake you once more, “Goin?” You finally finished as you opened your eyes wide to try and keep them open in a desperate attempt to stay awake- but he was just so warm. 

“You can sleep, my darling,” His words were so caring, the love in them like a warm blanket wafting over you. “I’m taking you up to our chambers,” 

“What about the meeting?” You spoke soft as you rested your head in the crook of his neck. You recalled the introduction, a kind gentleman- a merchant if you recalled correctly, then as one of the guests followed his introduction with an opening discussion on trade routes all you could remember was feeling oh so sleepy.

“It ended my darling, it’s alright,” Elrond hushed you again, sleep overtaking you as you nodded. 

You were practically always tired, never fully getting enough sleep at night so whenever your mind wasn’t properly stimulated or you were left alone to your own devices, you often napped. 

There were so many instances where Elrond found you sleeping, it was now an expectation to see his beloved napping away in an armchair of the library, the sun hitting you just right to make you feel so so warm. 

As he walked down the hall, Elrond couldn’t help but remember when you fell asleep in his study just yesterday. 

The two of you were taking a break, having been through two meetings, walking the grounds to discuss possible architectural needs of the Imladris- he was surprised you didn’t excuse yourself to rest since you seemed so exhausted. 

But moments like these, they were what he held closest to his heart. 

Elrond started a small fire in the fireplace, bringing out a blanket from the cabinet and pulled out one of your favorite books. 

You were curled up on his chest, the blanket overlaying the two of you as his fingers ran through your hair and along the back of your neck. He was reading out loud in a soft voice, and that combined with the warm blanket and the soothing sensations on your scalp, you were out in no time. 

Elrond peered down from the pages of the novel, a soft smile covering his face as he carefully set the book down on the side table. 

He couldn’t help but to gently press kisses to your forehead as he adjusted to wrapping both arms around you and resting his cheek on your head. 

The two of you fell asleep together, this time you weren’t the only sleepy one.

See, if we're talking about real life...

My husband (my sunflower). I'm cooking steak (even though I can't eat it) with spicy fried green beans and baked potatoes. I'm probably listening to the Prince of Egypt soundtrack. And the place doesn't really matter because my home is wherever he is. (Yeah I'm a sap).

But fictional?

It's Glorfindel (also my sunflower, if you're ever wondering where I get my inspiration for Glorfindel from, it's ^^^, my hubby). I'm probably not listening to any music but I might be singing sea shanties or whatever songs I've learned in Middle-Earth. And it's him coming home to his talan after a long day in the healing wards or off a long patrol. As for food, I'm not sure. I might make a Middle Earth version of a charcuterie board and pair with a bottle of wine/mead or maybe even miruvor or tea. Would depend on his mood, I think.

Rocking short hair was the best decision I ever made! Short hair, don't care!

You know what I couldn't do with my long hair? I couldn't do cosplay very well, because it was insanely difficult to hide that much hair under a cap. But yeah, rock your short hair!

Haha, short hair don't care team unite! 👊🏻

I've always preferred shorter hair not only because it's more convinient for me (I mean, it dries in like 30 minutes, tops and doesnt get stuck in zippers) but also because I feel soooo much more like myself. I've had short hair most of my life, my hair grew too much because of lockdown but luckily it's short now again 😅👌🏻
