I'm not sure why some people don't understand this, but using generative AI (ie midjourney and the like) to create images and audios of your fave fictional characters is wrong.
It's not only theft of artists whose style you are replicating, but it's also theft of the actors identity. Literally one of their major selling points is how they look and sound, and by feeding it into an AI engine, you are spreading one of their key money makers around for free.
Imagine if you worked really hard on a fic and someone just copied it with a few name changes and claimed it was theirs? Or worse, sold it for profit?
That is essentially what Generative AI is doing to art.
It's theft of intellectual property. There is no ethical use of this sort of AI.

One of my pseudo predictions/ideas for khml is that it could involve a manhunt for Master’s Defender
Let’s say that Ephemera passes MD down through his family—four generations after him as Nomura mentions, til we get to present day missing link. He gives the specific instruction that it must be returned to Brain whenever he’s destined to arrive in Scala in the future (which might be mentioned in the Book of Prophecies). At the end of khux, Ephemera said he still considers MD belonging to Brain, so he wants to return it to its original owner.
But by the time missing link takes place, and Brain appears, what if the current wielder of MD (aka one of Ephemera’s descendants) refuses to return it, firmly believing that it’s their right to wield it rather than Brain.
This causes a stir within the family, as certain members would find this to be selfish, unreasonable, and going against Ephemera’s wishes. Along with just being dishonourable to Brain, assuming they respect him. Meanwhile, other members of the family end up agreeing with this wielder, believing that MD should stay in the family.
I can see this drama getting so out of hand that it spreads to Scala’s wider community, causing the wielder to go into hiding with MD, and leading to a widespread manhunt alongside other various conflicts. Maybe the game is about finding a missing link to the past in the form of MD, assuming that the titular “missing link” could be a physical item and not just a metaphorical or symbolic thing. As far as I know, MD and No Name are also the only keyblades to have chain-related abilities? Just as an added layer
Brain’s whole role in this is up in the air. I’m going to assume that he’d want to get MD back because of it being Ephemera’s wish (and he will get it back eventually, so it can be passed down to Eraqus), but I can see him getting exhausted by all the drama caused by it. Either way, he feels a sense of responsibility to try and fix everything that goes down
the newest annoying thing about twitter users constantly stealing tumblr gifs is that half of them pay for twitter. now they legitimately profit off our uncredited work with the impressions and followers they gain from it. giving credit obviously doesn’t resolve that issue, but at least pretend to give half a fuck about crediting the gifmakers you use to make money (and perhaps also start respecting the bios that beg you not to repost).
“Art shouldn’t be made for money”“Commercial art demeans real art”
You know who are the only people able to do art full-time for free? Privileged & wealthy.
Enjoying free art has never been more accessible. Learning how to make art has never been more accessible. Art careers have never been more accessible.
Marginalized & underprivileged people are now able to do art for a living. This technology seeks to take that away.
And AI proponents try to claim we’re elitist gatekeepers here?
Please don’t fall for the co-opting and weaponization of social justice terms. It’s a disgraceful practice.
There’s nothing elitist, classist, ableist, conservative or capitalist about wanting millions of people to keep their income in a ruthless capitalist society we live in.
Settings > Visibility > Prevent third party sharing
Remember to turn on “prevent third party sharing” everyone, those fucking robots don’t deserve your shit. Support REAL artists and not that gross mockery of art. Thank you to anyone who creates on this site, and on the internet as a whole, despite the risks that your labor will be bastardized by a bunch of lines of code and a company with a moral compass pointing to the gutter. Corporations will never give two shits about your rights, privacy, or creations. If they can steal from you, they will steal from you. Don’t let them.
what if sylvie used the endless timelines to smuggle treasures
she is, after all, the goddess of mischief!
something that stuck out to me in s1 was how she would place objects from one time period into another where it Shouldn’t Be, and use this to lure in the minutemen. but imagine if she uses this for cash instead of violence.
she jumps back to Ancient Rome, where she had hidden before in the dust of Pompeii- but in this timeline, now free to infinitely branch, they don’t get devoured by Vesuvius. so she takes in the sights and picks up a coin or two dropped onto the ground in the marketplace before making her exit. she could be subtle. she’s smart. or she could go straight for finding the long lost faberge eggs for the thrill of it all.
fast forward to the 1980’s. how did this weird woman working at the local mcdonalds get these very real looking coins slash jewels from centuries or millennia ago? she smiles and says it came down through family, cooks up a backstory about a beloved uncle who was a collector. she doesn’t smile while they haggle on prices. she leaves with enough cash for a lot more records and movies and feeling deeply accomplished.
Just... the fact that it's, "We sold your data to AI companies!" and they didn't even pretend for 5 seconds that it was a profit share or revenue stream users could opt into really says it all.

IF YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR TUMBLR DATA SENT TO AI YOU NEED TO OPT OUT IMMEDIATELY
There is a new setting which means unless you change it, your blog content is automatically shared to AI training and "research partners".
I went into my settings from 3 different ways, and had to be shown the exact way to get to it because it's only visible if you go through specific steps. It is not in your general Tumblr settings.
So if you don't want your data shared on, this is how to get there.
1. Go to your blog from the menu on the left under your account.
2. Select "view blog" from the right menu.
3. Use "Blog Settings" from the top of your blog
4. Turn on the last option in Visibility, "Prevent third-party sharing"
