What was their fake life like: Rough. Johnny's father developed an alcohol problem after the death of his wife, and he and Johnny were fighting like, constantly - also because his mother was the calming rock between them, so to say. Johnny also did drop out of school at this point, and hung out in the streets of Sydney a lot. It got a it better when he got a girlfriend, even when it did not last. That and his memories returning helped Johnny to get his life at least a little bit in order again.

deek’s been through a lot of trauma thanks to his time in war & living through the apocalypse certainly hasn’t helped. he has a grim, cynical way of looking at things, but can still be lighthearted with the people he cares about. he has a very sarcastic sense of humor and a hard time taking orders from others, something that followed even in his army career. it takes him time to warm up to people, but once he cares for someone, he’ll do anything for them.

memories of their real life:

former member of the army that served in afghanistan, he was an honorable solider but hated every min of it. he was discharged after being the surviving member among his squad after a crash. he tried to save the others, but they were already gone, it’s something that still haunts him.

after that, he came home, bought a motorcycle & drifted around for a few years before getting a job as a mechanic & joined up with the mongrels motorcycle club as an enforcer. that’s where he met his closest friend turned brother, boozer, & became good friends with another member named jersey jim.

after numerous years with them, he met & later married sarah, who he went nomad for, which upset just about every brother he had in the club aside from boozer.

he was in farewell, oregon with boozer & sarah when the outbreak hit, & long story short, they managed to get an injured sarah out on a chopper while the boys fight their way to the camp she was taken to. they found it overrun by freakers (infected people/zombies), leading deacon to believe sarah was killed.

 the virus took over, resulting in complete societal collapse & left few humans alive. deek & boozer adapted to the new world & worked as bounty hunters.

& essentially after finding hope that sarah’s still alive, he goes on a wild chase to find her, only to find out her work/the people she worked for created the virus & they’re mutating it to create new basically “super” people.

in the end he managed to get sarah back, but the world had still gone to hell so y’know.

At this point, not many. Satine sometimes dreams of a struggling writer. She remembers a tightness in her chest. But at this point, she believes it all to be just that: a reoccurring dream.

What was their fake life like?

Satine believes that she was born into poverty. Abandoned at an orphanage, more or less at birth, she grew up with all of the other abandoned of France. She learned how to take care of herself, and also learned that, at the end of the day, she could read people.

She knew what they wanted. What they desired. She learned what made them tick. So working in an adult entertainment venue, as soon as she was able, seemed like a decent enough idea.

But France lost its friendliness after a time, so at twenty-four, nearly twenty-five, Satine moved to Sydney to follow a man who promised her the world. He abandoned her, of course, as the story goes, but she found a way to persevere nonetheless.

She found a new patron, one who could give her the world, and although she doesn’t love him, she loves what he gives her, and she’ll take it any day.

everything up until the end of a plague tale innocence, so far, but he can feel another wave of difficult memories about to hit him very soon (aka, after a month he’ll remember the stuff from requiem, oof.)

What was their fake life like?

in his fake life, lucas was an orphan taken in by the church and taught by one of the nuns how to create elixrs, as she learned from her mother before her, and she learned from her mother, and so on. lucas took to this quickly, a true prodigy of an alchemist. from there he had a relatively peaceful life, always taking his studies very seriously, especially those related to science and history. when he’d exhausted all the material the church could give him, and he found the normal libraries rather barren on his favored topics, he started studying at the libraries where material was not permitted to be checked out. everything he read seemed familiar, and then he came across books of the hundred years war and the black death, memories started to flood to his mind. realizing that his current life had been a lie, he returned to the church, thanked them for all they had done (what of it was real, he was unsure), and enrolled in the university.

Memories of their real life :

Ever since Jess was born there was an expectation of perfection.  Perfect blue eyes, blonde hair, minimal fussing, perfection.  And when she was little it was sort of easy, meeting her parents demands and trying to mirror the perfection that was her older brother Jake.  She was five when Joel was born, and she found another fellow sibling to love, the expectations starting to be a burden she felt even then but hoping that maybe it’d be easy for Joel like it seemed to be for Jake sometimes.  

Looking up to her brother she tried to emulate his confidence, the strength he showed even if she felt fragile inside.  Their parents were politicians, and they both needed a flawless family all the time if they wanted to keep winning their re-elections.  That was all that mattered, how the world saw them, and it was a  crushing weight. It was in high school she started drinking and taking whatever pills she was offered, the party scene a place she could let loose for even just a few hours.  Jake and Joel were the only people who kept her sane.  Made her feel like she wasn’t alone under the burden of their birthright even if her brothers handled things so differently.  Jake set his goals for the military, and Jess was intending on being a psychologist until that met her parents disapproval.  She was allowed to major in psychology, but she would really end up doing charity galas and philanthropic networking for her parents.  Making it seem like they cared about the world when she knew in reality all they ever cared about were their careers.  

Jess was holding herself together by threads, always feeling like she was one slip up away from shattering completely.  She was honestly so proud of both of her brothers, Jake becoming a star pilot in the Navy and continuing to be so amazing, and Joel was true to himself in a way Jess couldn’t ever bring herself to be.  Herself wasn’t good enough.  But things started to get worse when the pressure to get married started building.  She should find a well connected husband and have kids before she was too old.  Picket fence, perfect husband and perfect children and everything was just...too much.  It was all too much and Jess felt like she’d never escape this feeling.   Jess knew she hadn’t done enough to make her parents proud yet, and as she sat their listening to her mother drone on about how she needed to find a strategically important husband it became evident to her that there would always be something else.  Something more she should do, or be.  And that alone was enough to crush her spirit, heartbroken and not knowing how to fill that void or even talk about it.

It was an accident, Jess alone in her home when she realized she’d taken a cocktail of pills that would kill her.  But there was a relief in it too.  At least she didn’t have to feel like this anymore.
