The king of Hastinapur, Shantanu fells in love with this fisher girl and to swipe away the insecurities of her father, Devavrat (Bhishm) takes the celibacy vow and the story moves forward. It covers the part of mahabharata till the time Pandavas and Kauravas are born. It has beautifully described the Kuru dynasty and the relation of many. The story is put into simple but beautifully woven words and a person like me was surprised at each unknown facts of the mahabharata. ------------------------------------------------------------- I can never thank the author enough for making me understand and like the Mahabharat. I've been trying to understand it for years through many books but without fail.
