Back in season 5 right after Beth "died," Norman posted the pizza of Daryl carrying Beth. Then, team delusional with it's crazy conspiracy theories about Beth being alive and returning was born.

Delusional means holding false beliefs, but what if you end up being right?

That would mean that the truth is a lie, and a lie is the "truth"

Everything in this show is using biblical end times symbolism, and the whole concept of team delusional is no different.

The lie is the truth concept is coming from this verse from Isaiah 5.20, who wrote this about the end times...

Lies are truth, and truth are lies.

The logical negation symbol reverses the truth of something. That's why the logical negation symbol was placed on a tree outside the CHURCH in Coda (end). Jesus was crucified on a tree.

This idea is still within the MCU verse but not Endgame compliant. All the stuff in the movies still happened, but the beginning is different. Maria went on a trip with Tony and the Jarvises while Howard was busy doing SI stuff. Maria just wanted Tony to have fun and isn’t constantly grilled about what he knows by Howard.

Let’s somehow make Beverly, Stephen’s mom, be friends with Maria, so they want Stephen and Tony to meet. Howard has a winter home in the Rockies or whatever, so Maria invited the Stranges to the winter home. Tony and Stephen immediately click, having so much fun because Tony isn’t punished for doing childish things for the first time ever. Stephen has someone to play with who isn’t his sister; Donna is still a baby.

Tony and Stephen play in the treehouse, where it’s warm inside; Jarvis and Ana are in the little sunroom next to the treehouse to keep an eye on them. Tony and Stephen have so much fun playing make-believe. Like the whole week, Stephen and Tony can be found playing in the snow and the treehouse.

A time skip to like the high school times, and Tony got early admission to college, so (some mathing is happening) Stephen as a senior who just graduated, Tony in his third year of college. Tony and Stephen kind of drifted apart between the time skip. Let’s just imagine Obadiah convincing Howard to change his mind when Maria wants to relax at their winter home and take Tony with her to have fun in the snow away from the grilling from Howard. It’s summer, and Stephen just graduated and he’s on a summer trip with his parents, but they’re letting him explore by himself. They’re in New York, and Stephen is wandering around Central Park when he sees a familiar face. Tony recognizes him too but is hesitant because what if it isn’t Stephen? Anyways, Rhodey pushes Tony into calling out for Stephen because he can tell that Tony might have feelings for him. Rhodey walks a few paces away from the two because that’s his brother with someone he doesn’t know, even though Tony knows him. Rhodey is a little overprotective because he’s witnessed many people just using Tony to get some kind of 15 minutes of fame or money. Stephen and Tony end up watching the fireworks that go off at night. That’s also the same night that Rhodey knows the two are meant to be, but the timing isn’t fitting, like it’s not time for them to be a couple yet.

Another time skip, and again isn’t time yet for Tony and Stephen to be a couple, and they know it. It’s been a few years since the last time they met. Stephen has graduated pre-med and is now in med school. Tony has graduated and is taking the reins of Stark Industries a few years after the death of his parents. The two just happened to see each other as they walked the sidewalks in downtown new york. They also end up spending a few hours together. It’s nighttime and theyre at central park and under a lamp, they kiss. They know that they love each other, but it isn’t time yet. They kiss as a promise to find each other in the future.

Bonus Time Skip:

Many times skip later, and it’s post Endgame, and Tony is still alive. During Infinity War, when Pepper and Tony were at Central Park, they were just sharing their wedding dreams. Pepper thinking about her future wedding plans for her, Happy and May, and Tony thinking about Stephen and what their wedding might look like. Again, Peter Quill and Rocket remembered how the Guardians dealt with the Power Stone and got everyone to hold hands with Tony, so the energy from the Infinity Stones isn’t all following into Tony. Tony wakes up in a hospital bed and Stephen is asleep in a chair next to his bed. Stephen wakes up when Tony places his hand on top of Stephen’s head. Stephen abruptly stands and passionately kisses Tony right on the lips. After they kiss, Tony all of a sudden proposes on the spot. Stephen says yes. Tony convinces Stephen to get on the hospital bed so they can cuddle. Rhodey who also happens to be in the room is like “Oof this is deja vu with the rooftop scene all over again.”

I SAW ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE.

This is my official warning for extreme spoilers because I want to give my full, uncensored thoughts.

However, before getting into all of that, I wanted to say beforehand that this movie is a part one. It ends in a cliffhanger which caught me completely off-guard, and I just want to tell people who haven't seen it yet that this is only the beginning of this particular story. If anyone wants to watch this movie at home when it comes out on video/streaming and just catch the conclusion in theaters (or at least I hope it's the conclusion) because that would be more satisfying to them, I want them to have that ability, and be aware of this.

Okay, now getting into the actual movie, oh my god it was freaking incredible 🥳. I want this movie's art style more than anything. Somehow they improved upon the magnificent, ground-breaking animation style of the first, and made it even better! Gwen's universe has this super cool, almost painterly art style (which is the best way I can describe it) and everyone moves in such a fluid, distinct way.

And speaking of Gwen, I love how the movie opens with her and briefly shows what her relationship was like with her dad and Peter. It makes it all the more sadder knowing what Peter's inevitable fate is. However, the moment Gwen reveals herself as Spider-Woman to her dad is even sadder because despite everything, he's still afraid of her and everything that's happened, and it's absolutely gut-wrenching. I really want to give the girl a hug.

Not only that, but the fact that they used a joke that wasn't even originally going to be in the first movie (the whole bagel joke was just something made off-the-cuff that ended up making it into the final cut because it made everyone laugh so much) and turned the person that said joke happened to into a genuinely tragic character and menacing supervillain is nothing short of massively impressive. I adore the villain in this movie because of how genuinely terrifying he ends up being after being shown in the beginning to seem like just another sad bank robber. By the way, that entire scene is freaking hilarious. And the way that his entire life was "ruined" by Miles and the reactor, so he in turn wants to ruin Miles' life, is so awful, yet one can definitely understand where he's coming from. I can't wait to see what they do with him in part two, and what that final battle's going to be like.

I love how they reintroduced Peter B. Parker, and they gave him a daughter who is the cutest little girl, oh my gosh. The way he's such a proud, excited dad, showing off photos of her on his phone, is the most wholesome thing ever. And his whole heart-to-heart with Miles was really sweet, too. I can't believe meeting Miles is what caused him to want to actually be a father after originally divorcing MJ because he was too afraid to be one 🥺

Miguel is also an interesting character, and this exchange was fascinating:

Gwen: We're supposed to be the good guys!

Miguel: We are the good guys.

I don't want him to become a villain, exactly, but it's clear he's misguided, and I'm sure he'll continue making rash decisions and hunting down Miles in part two. I think his reasoning for wanting to sacrifice one person to save a ton more gave me Infinity War vibes and I'm wondering what they'll do with him next.

Oh yes, and I loved Pavitr Prabhakar, the Indian Spider-Man variant. He was effortlessly talented and also just a genuinely nice guy. I always love it when effortlessly talented people are also genuinely nice. They could've made him a jerk so easily, but they didn't, and I appreciate that.

I also want to praise this movie for the fact that it gave Miles' mother more to do. I adore her speech to Miles about wanting what's best for him, and that there will be people in the future who don't believe in him like his parents do, so he needs to look out for himself and "that little boy". She's such a fun character and a wonderful mother.

This is usually the spot where I'd put any criticisms, but honestly, the only thing I could really say in that regard is because it's a part one, there is definitely a lot of setup. But all in all, I think it's great even on its own, and it leaves you wanting more.

Okay, okay, and the ending. I can't believe a variant of Miles is the Prowler, and I have no idea what that means for the next movie, but I'm so intrigued to find out. God, they really got me, hook, line, and sinker.

There's a lot more I could say about this movie, and I might make another post to add more thoughts that I forgot to add here, but I cannot emphasize enough or put into enough words how much I love it. If you don't mind cliffhangers, go see it in theaters to support it.

Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse

“Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse” is a perfect sequel to a perfect movie, but I’m not sure I could overlook this one problem.

Mile Morales is having trouble balancing his life as a student and his life as Spider-Man. He’s now completely focused on pursuing a career that will allow him to research ways to travel between universes. One day, Gwen meets with him and shows him that she’s able to travel between universes using a bracelet given to her by Miguel O’Hara. It turns out that she’s not just here to visit Miles. She’s been sent to Mile’s universe on a mission.

This is a review that was a little difficult for me to make. For the past few days, I’ve been debating on whether or not I should give it four or five stars. The reason is that I think this movie is absolutely fantastic. My only problem is with the supposed ending. I felt like this was an incomplete movie. I think by now, everyone knows that this is the first half of a two-part movie. I think a lot of people are using that as a justification and calling it a cliffhanger rather than an incomplete movie. There’s a lot of rising action, but never really any climax. Plot-wise, there’s not a whole lot going on once you put aside all the Easter eggs and references. Now, I still think the writing is still extremely well done and what this movie is setting up is brilliant, but that’s all this movie is: set-up. I find myself comparing this movie with “Avengers: Infinity War” because they’re both the first half of two-part movies. With “Avengers: Infinity War”, there was a third act and the heroes surprisingly fail to stop the antagonist. There’s a climax that pays off all the journeys each character went through, but ultimately they were in vain. It’s still narratively satisfying because you get a full movie, just with an unconventional ending. In “Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse”, you don’t get that. You get exposition that leads to rising action, but it cuts off there. If you really boil things down, this movie is just about Miles learning about the society of Spider-people, learning about Canon events, learning his dad dying is a canon event, and then running away from everyone only to end up in the wrong dimension. Miles doesn’t really do much with the new information he’s given. Now, you could argue that he does do something with that information and that’s run away to try and save his dad, but the story ends before he could directly affect that outcome. Don’t get me wrong. I thought the animation was insanely impressive. They managed to push the boundaries of the already boundary-pushing visuals of the first movie. This movie is just, to put it simply, gorgeous to look at. I thought The Spot was a great villain and voiced excellently by Jason Schwartzman, although the movie kind of forgot about him in the latter half. As I said, the writing is ingenious. I have an idea of where they’re going with everything and it’s all super creative and a lot of fun. It’s that perfect blend of meta, but also still stands alone as its own great story. It sucks that I had to give this movie four stars because it truly was a well-crafted movie. But, I always stand by that story must come first, so an incomplete story is a big thing for me. I saw somewhere online that this wasn’t actually an incomplete story because Miles and Gwen are completely different at the end of the movie from where they were at the beginning. I still don’t think that’s enough. I’m excited to see the second part, but not as excited as I would be if I didn’t feel so unsatisfied walking out of the theater for this movie. Still, this movie is damn good and should be watched on the biggest screen with the best sound quality. You don’t want to miss it.

Loki remembers it like it was yesterday. February 5th, 1945. Or at least, that was the date on Midgard at the time... She had never expected to care about someone so deeply. Back on Asgard, she had always felt alone, even when she wasn’t. Meeting Steve during her banishment was probably the best thing that ever happened to her. Loki had tried blending in by playing the part of a normal young woman. Dating was a part of that role. Playing that part never changed for as long as she was on Midgard. She never did tell Steve the truth, never thought she HAD to. But the part where she faked being in love DID change. Because after a while, Loki realized she wasn’t acting anymore. She really had begun loving him. Tiny, scrawny Steve, who stood up for her on their very first date, knowing he picked a fight he couldn’t easily win. Steve, who kept trying to fight for what he believed in, time after time, when no one else believed in HIM. Hell, they didn’t even believe in him once he DID get the strength and endurance to fight. It was all kinds of adorable and admirable. Loki fell for him so hard it sometimes made her chest tighten up, like her heart was so full of love it took up all the space in it’s cavity.

They got engaged just before Steve was picked for the Super Soldier program, and Loki remembers making love to him for the very first time the night before he took it. They knew the serum was going to change him, even if they didn’t know to what extend.. so even if originally Steve had wanted to wait until they were actually married, they both knew the whole situation wasn’t without risk. Especially thinking he was going to go fight in the war afterwards. Then when Steve was made to tour all over America and Europe, Loki was always with him. She toured with him, comforted him when he needed it, and yelled at some people when she didn’t agree with how Steve was treated ( they soon learned that Steve Rogers’ fiancée was NOT to be messed with ) which was rather often, honestly.

They’ve been through so much together, shared so many good and bad moments, they had become inseparable. Until February 5th, 1945.

Loki got to talk to Steve very briefly over the radio, before his plane crashed and he was never heard from again.. She can’t even begin to count the amount of times she has replayed the moment over in her head, hearing Steve’s voice for the very last time.

She immediately left for Asgard. With Bucky dead she didn’t really talk to Dottie anymore either, and since Steve was gone, she didn’t have a reason to stay. She was heartbroken, obviously. The only person she has ever truly loved was gone, and it hurt more than she could ever have imagined.

It was the second worst thing that has ever happened to her.

The absolute worst thing that happened to her happened between 2011 and 2012. One thing led to another and it resulted into Loki trying to end her own life by letting go and falling into the void. And honestly, she would have been better off dead. She ended up in Thanos’ hands, and he and the Other tortured her for a year, trying to mold her into the perfect weapon to attack Midgard, the place she once dared call her home, so they could eventually get a hold of the infinity stones. Not that Loki knew the true purpose of it. All she could remember for a long while was searing pain.

Eventually, Loki was told how to use the tesseract and she was assigned a whole army. She was given a scepter, containing the mindstone, to mindcontrol others into helping her achieve (their) her goal. But what she didn’t know was that the scepter also influenced HER. Not as much mindcontrol as heightening all her negative emotions.

It’s the first time Loki’s back on Midgard ever since Steve died. The tesseract teleports her right into a S.H.I.E.L.D facility. She looks terrible. She has a limp, dark circles around her eyes, and she looks even paler than she already did. Her hair is a mess, too. It’s not just that, either. She’s also sporting the most chilling grin she could possibly muster as she watches a couple of agents give her disturbed looks and scramble to get their guns from their holsters -- not that she gives them a chance. She shoots them with the scepter far before their hands even make it to their guns.

¿What if Ultron brought down Sokovia in Avengers Age of Ultron?

Intro

What if events went differently in the MCU? What if Ultron brought down Sokovia in Avengers Age of Ultron? In todays fan fiction we’re going to be seeing what would have happened if Ultron had brought down Sokovia instead of the Avengers which leads to them being defeated. ¿How can

this affect Infinity War and Endgame going forward? Now when I say those words u might be wondering “Isn’t there an actual episode of What if where Ultron defeated the Avengers? Well yes there is but that is not the story I’m about to tell you because this is an original what if created by me taking inspiration from the 2013 Age of Ultron comic which trust me this fan fiction does adapt many events from the comic and will be following the mythology of Ultron and the Avengers and the timeline of the MCU and there will be a character from the Ultimate Alliance 3: the Black Order video game. Without wasting any more time sit back and relax and enjoy this brutal fan fiction.

Prologue

In my analysis of the multiverse I have seen death and destruction in every universe like a zombie infection, our recent battle with Infinity Ultron and speaking of Ultron our world where the Avengers along with War Machine, the Maximoffs and Vision himself along with the agents of Shield managed to defeat Ultron and his drones bringing down Sokovia with it and leading to the events of Civil War due to the Sokovia Accords. However, that is not the story I’m about to tell u as this story in particular will be in a world where the Avengers lost to Ultron. And don’t worry it’s not a retelling of the events of the actual episode. I am the Watcher and I will be ur guide to these vast new realities. Follow me and pounder the question. What If…

Act 1

The events of Age of Ultron were playing out the same as in our universe. The Avengers and their allies were gaining the upper hand on Ultron and were defeating the drones. Our fan fiction begins when Ultron discovered that Thor was beneath the building and that if he hits the core the Avengers will come out victorious in the end. Ultron needed to come up with a plan quickly before the defenders of Earth could win. Sokovia began to fall down like in our universe. The Avengers have defeated the Ultron drones. However, Thor realized that something was wrong and Ultron came and punched him knocking him unconscious. Ultron hitted the core but instead of the city getting destroyed Ultron became a huge version of himself dubbing himself Ultimo and destroyed the city killing everybody in it including Thor, Maria Hill ,Phil Coulson, Melinda May, Hulk and Quicksliver. The Avengers have failed to save the civilians and retreated to New York where Ultimo will go next. The Avengers along with the Defenders, Inhumans ,the remaining Agents of Shield, Spider-Verse, Runaways, Cloak and Dagger, Midnight Sons, the Illuminati of Earth-838, Avengers 2000, Fantastic 4s and the X-mens from other universes etc. united and fought against Ultimo. Many heroes died including the 3 Cyclops, the Professor Xs, Cloak, Robbie Reyes, the Mister Fantastics, Psylocke, Jessica Jones and her newborn baby and many more including some of the villains were killed by Ultimo and his upgraded drones. The remaining heroes and villains retreated and went underground with Ultimo destroying New York City in the process with Hawkeye saving Spider-Man in time.

Act 2

3 years have passed and the remaining Marvel heroes and villains were still underground as Ultron in his Ultimo self continued to destroy the world. Spider-Man told the heroes that they need to stand again against Ultron but that without many of the heroes like Cyclops, Cloak, Psylocke, Mister Fantastic, Jessica Jones and others there was no chance that they can stop him. However, Captain America told them that they should indeed go up against Ultron no matter the cost and despite the few heroes left. Though Luke Cage was not sure if to do it as he had lost Jessica and the baby 3 years prior during Ultimo’s initial attack. Cap told Luke that this well be their chance to honor the fallen heroes including Jessica to which Luke then accepts and together they get ready for the epic final battle that was about to come. Meanwhile, Ultron was still in New York City killing any human left when he heard Doctor Strange saying that now revenge is coming. He turned around and saw the remaining heroes and villains as they were about to make their last stand against Ultron. Ultron got mad and told them that the world dies today and transformed into Ultimo sending the drones to attack them. The brutal battle has begun.

Final act

The Avengers were fighting against Ultimo and the rest of the heroes and villains were fighting against the Ultron drones. The Ultron drones were destroyed and they all focused their attention on Ultimo. They then heard a loud boom coming from the sky and it was the Milano carrying the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Ravagers who had called the Asgardians led by Loki in to help. Earlier Odin died and Hela arrived eventually leading to Loki summoning Surtur to destroy Asgard like in our universe and escaped to Earth after the Guardians sent the beacon to them. Black Panther and the Wakandan army were also called in as they had vibranium weapons that can defeat Ultron. They all fought in a colossal battle. Despite being charged by vibranium technology they managed to defeat him with not much energy left and However he sensed a presence looming and they all saw a portal and it was none other than the Mad Titan Thanos himself along with his armies who has come to find the remaining Stones as he already had the Power, Reality and Soul Stones after decimating Xandar and Knowhere and sacrificing Gamora. One by one of the MCU were being killed by Thanos’s armies. Thanos approached Strange and he surrendered the Time Stone to him before immediately ripping Ultron’s head off killing him for good. Loki then approached Thanos and almost killed him before he grabbed him by the neck and choked him to death in front of everyone and just like that Thanos had all the Infinity Stones and was getting ready to snap twice. Strange called upon the Masters of the Mystic Arts but they too were starting to get killed by the armies. Strange thought of this and told Stark that if they could go back in time and stop Ultron from getting to the core then perhaps they’ll be victorious then. Stark agreed and Strange sent Tony back to 2015 before the destruction of the city. Stark went to the core and told Thor that Ultron knew that he was here and they have to be ready for his arrival saying that if hits the core there will be terrible consequences for the entire world. Thor believed him when Ultron came and this time Thor managed to hit him before Iron Man came and destroyed the Ultron body.

Epilogue

Thanks to this the Battle of Sokovia will finish the same way as in our universe with the Avengers defeating Ultron and bringing down Sokovia with it. Because of this the rest of the MCU will play out the same as in our universe…

And that is going to be it for what if Ultron brought down Sokovia in Avengers Age of Ultron. We saw how one moment created a alternate timeline where the Avengers lost and here was where I included elements of the original comic like the heroes and villains going underground, Spider-Man and Captain America telling the people to not give up, heroes like Cyclops, Jessica Jones and her newborn baby dying and in the end thanks to Strange Tony managed to go back and stop Ultron before he reached the core. I had a lot of fun narrating as the Watcher and i will keep doing this for other Marvel what ifs. Do make sure to be on the lookout for more what ifs coming soon. Some Preliminary Prayers, Part 3: transfinitude.

I believe that the story of Jesus is compelling because of the reality of infinitely large finite sets. This finitude teaches us that Jesus is who both who we already are and who we can become. For example: None of us know when we will die, but we will die. We are therefore finite in our own power in general. But, a finite being's godhood looks different than an infinite being's godhood. There are different kinds of infinities for our purposes here. Jesus' all-power looked like him being amazingly kind, self sacrificing and miracle making. The Holy Spirit's or "God's" infinitude looked like omnipotence which Jesus never properly had. If he did, it was in another sense; the finite sense which kept him on the cross. I am not well-versed in anything besides Christianity, but the best other example that I can use to illustrate this, would be the story of Arjuna in the Bhagavad Gita. Arjuna although aided by Krishna, must choose to live out his dharma in spite of the contradiction it holds with his cousins who belong to a different clan. He illustrates his finitude by transcending his own moral conflict through Krsna's aid and fighting to the bitter end of his inter-familial war. Arjuna is infinite in one dimension: overcoming his finitude presented in the terrible inescapability of the conflict. He does not escape the presumably inescapable war's circumstances. He is one kind of infinite and not the other.

This is the meaning of mathematics' transfinite sets. I am far from an authority on the topic but I will present my story of it. Most people are familiar with one kind of infinity: "Aleph-null". We can talk about aleph-null like a sequence beginning from 1 and then 2 and then 3... and so on, never reaching anything because that sequence will always have another '1' to add onto it. This kind of infinity is like God's or Krsna's infinitude: limitless. But there actually is a larger infinity: we can cut a single unit: say the interval between 0 and 1 into an infinite amount of discrete units. Imagine Achilles, the fastest runner in all of Greece is racing a turtle. But the turtle gets to have a mile headstart. Achilles has to get to half a mile before catching up with the turtle but by that time the turtle has moved an inch. And then Achilles has to move 1/2 a mile plus a fourth, but now the turtle has to move 1/2 an inch. The distance between Achilles and the turtle gets smaller and smaller, divided further and further. But no division will make the distance zero, (there isnt a non-zero distance which when divided will equal zero). If we call 1/2 mile A, 1/4 mile B, and so on ad infinitum, the set of all these added together is...~1 first of all, but second of all it is a set called aleph-alpha. Aleph-alpha is what's called a transfinite number. Anything cordoned off, so that we can write x/y=1; i.e. anything we can describe as a a set of fractions comprising a single whole, is transfinite.

If Krsna's omnipotence is to transcend from 1 to 2, or even 1 to googleplex; one example of ours is from 0 to .000000000001. We have more "pitstops" to go from 0 to 1 than Krsna's set of pitstops on the way to transcendence. We have more "opportunities" for freedom if you will. Our limitations are so numerous that any freedom at all is of greater significance than Krsna's or God's.

No wonder a beautiful world is unimpressive when there is evil; an omnipotent God creating any kind of world is unimpressive. No wonder the human brain is flawed; God could've used a banana for that. Limitlessness is not even an element of power. Instead, it is limits which enshrine power. Getting out of bed when you are depressed is heroic, not creating the world.

Although these daily acts are heroic, I'm looking for a religion that will not only tell me these struggles are good and real, but that will help me reach my infinitude. Maybe there is no such religion out there. But I'll try to aim for this kind of religion within reason.

First: what is your infinitude? I don't think there's a religion that can actually satisfyingly tell anyone this. But, I will investigate my own to demonstrate what I can. Second: as I've said, infinitude is actually a kind of finitude--so the question is what do my finitudes amount to. The answer to this is what constitutes my infinitude. And third: how is that infinitude my infinitude. I want to say this is the part which no longer becomes religion and becomes religious practice. I also think this isn't dogmatism because it will still inform a relgious practice even if it does not tell you every follower of that religion must do the same practices everyday.

Life’s Not Your Friend

Coming Home ‘verse - somewhere between Black Widow and Infinity War

She largely lost the ability to sleep soundly years ago. It’s the blessing and curse of motherhood – eternal vigilance whether in the dark hours or the light. It makes the appearance of her eldest at the bedside more than a bit of a shock.

“Auntie Nat’s crying,” he tells her.

“Nat’s not here, love,” she murmurs back, silently cursing her husband’s half feral partner and her own mostly lost cause in falling off clothes. It was one thing when the kids were toddlers, mostly unaware of their beloved auntie’s broken edges. But if it’s causing nightmares, there will have to be changes. To what she can’t begin to postulate.

“She’s in the kitchen, mama,” he tries again. “I think she’s hurt.”

Clint’s up and moving before Laura fully processes that one. She shepherds Cooper to his room before heading downstairs to survey the damage.

The kid was not at all mistaken. Nat’s in the kitchen. Under the kitchen table, to be more accurate. There is a tang of vomit in the air and a glance toward the sink sends Laura’s hand to her own lips, swallowing hard before flipping on the disposal and forcing the mess down the drain with the faucet sprayer on high. She can smell iron in the air and she wonders whether the woman child has yet another bleeding ulcer or got into a fight. Clint’s kneeling just beneath the edge of the table, speaking softly as though he’s trying to gentle a cornered animal.

Nat’s muttering something back, a mix of languages that make sense only in her head.

“Let me try?” Laura asks her husband, lowering herself to her own knees closer to the end of the table where Nat has herself wadded into a tight ball with knees to chest and top of head just barely beneath the wood above her.

“Come here,” she commands in the voice that has stilled a thousand tantrums and misdeeds in her children, the tone that settles babies in the throes of colic and husbands in midnight flashbacks alike.

The flow of mangled languages cuts off before a blur of bleached blonde hair and spindly legs flies into her chest, knocking them both backward into a heap on the hardwood.

“M’sorry, m’sorry, m’sorry.”

“Shhh, that’s enough of that, love. Be still. Just be still a moment now,” Laura tells her. She wraps her arms around Nat and takes stock of the ridges of vertebrae and ribs beneath her grasp. She reeks of vomit, smoke, and a mildewed tang that brings to mind abandoned buildings in seedy urban sprawl – or captivity. They’re equally likely when she’s been gone a while.

The woman in her arms goes limp, melting into her grasp and taking a long series of ragged breaths. Laura’s hands roam over her, surveying too slim arms and hips that jut outward more sharply than they’ve any valid reason to. There aren’t any flinching startles, no evidence of outright injury. Not a fight, then.

“Run me a bath,” she tells Clint. She doesn’t tell him to add the Epson salts and oils. He knows what is needed when Nat shows up like this. It’s a long-practiced routine now. Neither of them trusts her lies when she swears blind that it’s the last time. There won’t be one of those before they put her in the ground.

Laura drags the pair of them upright without dislodging the body tangled into hers. She half supports, half drags Nat down the hall and up the stairs to the large tub in the main bathroom. She flips on the shower taps as well, coaxing Nat out of her clothing and discarding her own oversized pajamas. Once upon a time she stood outside the frosted glass door of the shower. Those days are long gone. She presses Nat onto the little bench in the stall, pulling down the shower head and hosing the worst of the grime from her skin while pressing a washcloth and baby soap into trembling hands. The water runs rust colored into the drain and Laura tries not to think of what that means when she cannot find a single visible injury.

Nat holds the cloth up, eyes flicking back and forth to avoid making contact. It’s quick work, sponging her off and then soaping up and rinsing hair that feels like straw beneath her fingers. Bleach. Malnutrition. One of those. Another quick rinse to be sure the soap is off before closing the taps and leading Nat across the tile to the tub. Clint’s added the salts and oils, and there’s a rubber ducky bobbing jauntily on the water – an utterly incongruous remnant from evening bath time with the kids.

“In you go, love,” Laura tells her, reaching for a towel to dry herself off. Clint slips out to get fresh clothing for the pair of them, returning a few moments later with soft pajamas in tidy stacks.

Nat’s still utterly silent, eyes red rimmed but calm. She reaches out to poke the bath toy as Laura pulls on fresh sleepwear, pushing the bright yellow duck beneath the water and watching it surface like a small child. Laura settles onto her knees once she’s clothed, the plush mat beside the tub a necessity both for parenting three children who play hard outdoors and rescuing a wayward assassin who tends to turn up filthy and bruised.

They stay there in silence until Nat’s eyes begin to drift closed and her head risks slipping into the water. “Up you get,” Laura tells her, guiding her to her feet and passing her a fluffy towel and then the set of clothing Clint brought. The drawstring waist of the sleep pants proves vital as the things billow around her but the too large sweatshirt seems to provide the right kind of warm comfort as she burrows into it and accepts Laura’s offered hand.

It’s nearing five in the morning when they settle into bed, Nat between Clint and Laura, arms wrapped around her own torso and knees drawn up to meet them. Daylight will bring more time for explanations of where she’s been and what she needs moving forward. Now, though, Laura watches her face relax into sleep and closes her own eyes.

Loki Season 1 Thoughts

Overall, I really liked this series. It has some issues without question, but I sincerely don't think it's the dumpster fire so many viewers on this site treat it as. Did it go how I expected? Not at all? Did I enjoy the heck out of it and look forward to it every Wednesday? Hell yeah!

Loki's Good Guy Personality

A big complaint many have had with it is how much Loki's demeanor has changed and how his emotional growth feels rushed or his personality is ooc. Truth is, he saw his entire future, saw what his angry, power hungry, I-work-alone persona would get him in the end, and it snapped him back to reality. He has always been shown to be quite emotional and craving attention and lacking in self assurance, it's just in the past movies he's masked it with violence and fake narcissism, and he's always been a secondary character so his perspective is rarely shown. But if you really pay attention it's obvious he isn't truly villainous; we all know that, it's largely why he has such a huge fan base.

Right after meeting Mobius, Loki got an infodump of his future, saw his parents both die, found out that free will means jack shit, and learned he's absolutely powerless in this realm. On top of that, this is 2012 Loki, fresh off of being under Thanos' control, suddenly being shown that the guy who controlled him is going to end up killing him. Frankly,, I think it all broke Loki. He was too shook up by it all and by the sheer helplessness he found himself in at the TVA that he let all his barriers down momentarily. Just long enough for him to open up to Mobius about his motivation and his lack of self confidence. And you know what I bet? Loki felt relieved after talking to Mobius. A weight was lifted, because he bore his heart to someone and wasn't rejected or laughed at or treated like a psycho. And after letting his walls down fully, Loki didn't feel the need to put all of them back up. He stayed guarded around other people, but he didn't need to pretend around Mobius. Mobius has seen under the mask, so Loki doesn't feel pressure to perform as an all knowing, all powerful God around Mobius. That freedom is life changing.

People who gravitate towards broken, pseudo-villain characters do so because we relate to their internal conflict, their mental illness, their need to fake it around everyone close to them. Their turmoil and depression and self destructive behavior are familiar and we see ourselves reflected in their actions. Now, when a person really truly let's their guard down, drops all their layers of facade, and embraces themself, they tend to change demeanor and even personality pretty drastically. It's jarring in real life, so of course when it happens to a fictional character who you usually relate to it is going to be jarring, maybe even more so because it feels like a change you yourself would never go through. I know this sounds bad and people might get at me for it, but...

I believe the issue here is that a large part of Loki's fan base doesn't want him to get better. They don't want him to move past his mental illness, to learn how to cope with anger and disappointment in healthier ways, to be happy. They like his damaged persona, they like the internal conflict. Maybe it's because they're still at that low place themself and feel like a relatable character is getting taken away from them, maybe it's because they don't understand how much being at peace with yourself can alter a person and to them it feels like he's been changed too much. To those of us mostly on the up and up from battling depression and mental illness, it's comforting to see Loki getting a chance to be genuinely happy and accepting of himself.

Sylki and Lokius

First things first, I'm not anti anything. Ship what you want, idc. Personally, I do not see the Sylki dynamic as romantic, but I get why people read it that way. I thought the series did a good job of showing unrequited love, namely Loki falling for Sylvie and Sylvie feeling zero romance towards him. This was aware of his attraction and in the end used it as a distraction so she could get the upper hand. The show played up the potential romance because we are viewing things from Loki's perspective and he's become smitten as a kitten. I do think in the long run they'll have a more sibling-like dynamic, one Loki realizes that you can feel extreme love and care for a person without it being romantic. I enjoyed how the show explored their relationship, though I do wish they hadn't had every character under the sun mention their moment on Lamentis-1 like it was some big deal to bond with someone you're about to die with.

I'm bitter towards the development of Lokius. It had a strong start in the beginning, and in ep 5 had some potential reignited, but then they had Mobius not know who Loki is at the end. I'm still hoping they're playing the long game with this ship and that it'll come to fruition partway through season 2. The chemistry is there, and Mobius knows Loki very intimately and isn't put off by his past. Loki also feels much more at ease around Mobius than he does around Sylvie. It's the comfort of a deep loving bond with Mobius verses the nervousness of a new crush that he feels for Sylvie.

I don't think Loki is quite aware of his feelings for Mobius, simply because it's based in friendship and mutual respect and isn't a hot and heavy lust. Plus, as soon as he was away from Mobius he was thrown into a near death experience with Sylvie and developed a surface crush during their heart to heart. Since Loki's still figuring out what genuine feelings are beyond anger and sadness, he sees the simplistic crush he has on Sylvie as love and the intimate bond he's been forming with Mobius as friendship. He doesn't understand his own feelings yet, but I think he'll figure it out next season. I mean, he was probably already rethinking his feelings for her after she kissed and betrayed him, mentally kicking himself for expecting her to not pull a Loki betrayal like he would've in the past.

The Time Variance Authority

I really like the concept of the TVA, the structure of it, the methods they use, the deeply fucked way they recruit employees, the cult like motto, shady Miss Minutes who is definitely playing her own long game, and the blind acceptance TVA agents have of the Time Keepers' will. It's all very well done... until your dig into the core, aka He Who Remains. They built up the idea that the Time Keepers created the TVA to prevent a multiverse war and that they created agents to enforce their will. Then the creating agents turned out to be fake, the Time Keepers were fake, I expected the reason for the TVA's existence to be fake to. It felt too simple to have it genuinely exist just to keep the multiverse in check. Why the anonymity, unless it's to keep from having agents target and prune versions of himself which.. songs like a decent solution. HWR made it sound as though the multiverse war was just a bunch of versions of himself screwing shit up, so why isn't the TVA's focus on eradicating every other variant of this guy? Sounds a lot easier and nicer than fucking with the free will of every other living being. So either Marvel made a bad call when choosing what HWR's motive was for creating the TVA, or he was lying about it all to cover up something sinister.

Overall Storyline

I'm fairly happy with the plot as a whole. There were some pacing issues and I think a few missed chances for deeper conversations between various characters. While I enjoyed the Loki variants, I honestly would've been happier seeing Tom playing most the variants (except Kid Loki and Classic Loki since they are clearly different age ranges). If there is supposed to be one sacred timeline, it seems off to me that Lokis would be allowed to vary so extremely without it causing a nexus event(an alligator, whose nexus wasn't that he's an animal who obviously can't do any magic much less command Thanos' army, but that he ate someone's cat) and not just in appearance but in life path (ie boastful Loki collected all the infinity stones but it wasn't till he had 6 that he caused a nexus event even though him gaining control of the Soul, Power, and Time stones should've each caused nexus events since on the sacred timeline he never interacts with those 3 and taking any one of them would've fucked up a lot of other timeline parts)

I love the display of Lokis raw power, and 2012 Loki coming to the realization that he's way more powerful than he ever thought. And it wasn't just Classic Loki who spent thousands of years alone honing his skills, 2012 Loki reversed time on a goddamn falling building! I also liked the small magic, the fireworks, the tablecloth blanket, Loki yanking Sylvie away from HWR with just magic.

As someone who is both bisexual and genderfluid, I would've really loved more concrete representation. The comment about there never being another female Loki hit me in the gut; it undermined the Easter egg "Sex: Fluid" on Loki's TVA file. With how big a deal Sylvie being female was made out to be throughout the season, I expected her gender to play a key role in taking down the head of the TVA, like it was foretold that only a female Loki could end it all or some shit.

I don't mind the idea of Loki finding love in a straight passing relationship. I don't even mind the selfcest all that much. It just feels so obvious to me that Sylvie is written as not having any romantic inclination towards Loki, while Mobius is clearly written as falling in love with someone he shouldn't and trying to maintain an heir of professionalism to keep from wrecking his bond with Loki. I really really hope they come through on season 2 and give Lokius the canon relationship and proper representation they deserve.

Mmkay I thinks that's all the thoughts I've got right now. If you've been feeling cheated or clowned by how things went this season, maybe my perspective of things can help ease your pain.

Barnes had enlisted into the army and was assigned to the 107th in 1943. His regiment was captured by HYDRA, where Barnes was given a variant of the Super Soldier Serum by Arnim Zola. Barnes, along with whoever still remained from his regiment, was later rescued by Rogers, who had become Captain America during Barnes' absence. Upon joining forces with the continuing war, Barnes and Rogers formed their Howling Commandos, to battle Red Skull's forces. However, during the attempt to finally capture Zola out in the Austrian Alps, Barnes was caught up in the ambush and plummeted hundreds of feet from a train. As nobody was ever recovered, Barnes had then been presumed deceased, becoming honored as a hero. Unbeknownst to his team, Barnes' enhanced abilities allowed him to survive the fall, albeit with the loss of his left arm. Once he was found by the Soviet Union, as well as HYDRA, Barnes had subsequently been brainwashed and armed with a new cybernetic limb in order to then become their operative, known as the Winter Soldier. Over those next fifty years, he would eliminate anyone who posed any kind of threat to HYDRA, including Howard Stark and his wife, Maria. Between all these assassination missions, the Winter Soldier would be put back into a cryogenic stasis to ensure his longevity. In 2014, the Winter Soldier had been ordered by Alexander Pierce to kill Nick Fury, in order to ensure that all Pierce's schemes with Project Insight could go ahead. However, the Winter Soldier was challenged by Steve Rogers, which had eventually triggered him to begin remembering his prior life. In the wake of their Battle at the Triskelion, Barnes, now free from his brainwashing, deserted HYDRA in order to remember his past and end his long, violent history. Two years later, Barnes was then framed for the Bombing of the Vienna International Centre, which claimed the life of T'Chaka, among many other innocent lives. As Black Panther then sought his revenge for his father's death, Barnes had been repeatedly saved by Captain America, which sparked the Avengers Civil War as a team of Avengers led by Iron Man was sent to capture him. However, they learned that Helmut Zemo framed Barnes and reactivated his brainwashing so that Zemo could reveal that Barnes had murdered Stark's parents years ago. Having just survived Stark's revenge, Barnes was given amnesty in Wakanda by T'Challa and was placed in cryostasis until all HYDRA's control could be removed. With the help of Shuri, Barnes was finally cured of his brainwashing. However, as Thanos attempted to kill Vision for the Mind Stone, Barnes returned to stop the Mad Titan's plans, receiving his new vibranium arm. Barnes joined T'Challa and the Avengers to help fight off the threat, only for Thanos to defeat them and assemble all of the Infinity Stones. Barnes was subsequently disintegrated as Thanos eliminated half of all life in the universe. In 2023, Barnes was resurrected by Hulk and participated in the final battle against Thanos. In the aftermath of the battle, he attended the funeral of Tony Stark with all the other heroes. Later on, Barnes bid Rogers farewell, knowing of his intention to travel back to the 1940s in order to live with Peggy Carter. Barnes was present to witness Rogers, as a much older man, return home in order to choose Sam Wilson to pass the shield onto. With his name pardoned, Barnes sought atonement for all his actions as the Winter Soldier. His attempts were interrupted when John Walker was made the next Captain America, and the Flag Smashers emerged to act against the GRC's efforts to handle the aftermath of the Blip. He and Sam Wilson would go on a mission to stop the Flag Smashers, temporarily working with Helmut Zemo and Sharon Carter. However, the mission was complicated by Walker's attacks, until Walker murdered a Flag Smasher over Battlestar’s death. Barnes and Wilson were forced to defeat Walker to stop him from continuing to be Captain America. Barnes would then join Wilson and Walker in the final battle with the Flag Smashers, helping in their defeat and making amends with his past.

A big, messy Linked Universe playlist

Heavy on the angst, because of who I am as a person. (At the same time, don’t take it too seriously, man.)

Influenced by canon, manga (TP Link is really Going Through It™ ), my personal perceptions, and popular fandom canon.

A pretty wide variety of genres, with a bias towards metal and prog rock.

I kept snippets of lyrics for most songs, also because of who I am as a person. (Some were particularly hard to narrow down to just one verse or chorus.) Those - and a little more rambling - are under the cut if you really want, in the order of the playlist. But. It’s long.

I didn’t initially make this with the intent to share, but hey. Throughout my past year+ of listening, I’ve been haphazardly adding songs to a playlist I very creatively named Links. If something reminded me of them, whether through the music or lyrics or both, I threw it on the playlist, so some songs might seem odd or vague. Some are really on the nose, as subtle as a sledgehammer. (Sky for Sky? Dude. Sorry.) Some are there because of a fitting line or two that stuck in my head. Ultimately, music - like any form of creative expression - can be interpreted in a multitude of ways.

My listening habits and tastes are erratic, which is why this is one big, jumbled playlist and not separated for different Links. Not to mention if I did that, some (Wild, Legend) would have a lot and some (Wind, Four) would have none, both because of my own familiarity with them, and because of the general themes of the music I tend to listen to. Most songs are a general ‘hero’s spirit reborn’ mood, anyway - those are the first part of the playlist. The second half is more nuanced to specific Links, plus a few Ganon vibes.
