Hey, since you’ve been in this fandom for wayyy longer than I, I wanted to ask you something. To me, the only undeniable anti proof is the one where Louis’ grandpa and sisters called out larries and posted a pic of him and El. To me, this could mean multiple things:

1. Louis has the worst luck in the world and Larry is not real. But like…there’s SO SO many elounor plot holes and what abt matching tattoos and serenading and just- fuck ton of proof alright. Just things I don’t think any conspiracy theory would be able to take this far w/o actual evidence. That’s not me saying I’m a no stunts- cus honestly I just don’t buy some no stunts arguments but, I digress.

2. Larries on twt are disrespectful af and the family was clapping back bc maybe back then THOSE larries kinda made it worse for everyone? Like the way they talked to Stan was borderline immature, and I’m pretty sure if my family/friend were closeted and forced to extensively stunt I’d do anything to keep the secret so less ppl believe. Also if u think abt it- if ppl didn’t make EVERYTHING abt Larry/ make fake proof back then- the fam/friends would have no reason to be angry bc larry prob wouldn’t have to bury this secret so hard- yk? Bc whenever the families have clapped back its been to tweets talking about the proofs that over reach. Or just @ing larries bc like I said, you gotta bury the secret somehow so your homie won’t have to.

3. Management/ label/ PR team asking them to do it/ taking one for the team. I think management having control of stans or lotties or anyone’s account is too far fetched tbh. I also don’t think it’s the label because I mean- it was denied after the 1D hiatus by Lous ppl, lou who didn’t have an album out until 2020. The label also has better things to do- Hollywood leaders are too busy hiding sex offenders crimes to care abt some ‘conspiracy’. I do think maybe they do it so Louis(bc Gemma only denied it in the 1D days when Harry was actively bearding just to hide Larry rather than in PR relationships for PR and profit) doesn’t have to do anything other than hang out w Eleanor here and there. That’s my understanding of it anyways. I think I’ve done my research enough to conclude this.

Do you think any of my reasons could be right? I wanna know your train of thought. Or do larries have another explanation for why the families deny it on socials? Lmk <3

I think there are a lot of misconceptions going on here. A lot to unpack. And it's pretty ironic how the answer to your question is already on the question itself. This is obviously just my opinion, I'm not personally attacking you or anything, and feel free to disagree and do your own thing.

So. First of all, there's no such thing as blaming larries for the denials, or for making "everything about larry". Larry is making everything about larry, we're just reacting accordingly for the past decade. Yes there's a part of this fandom that is extremely annoying and doesn't seem to understand the concept of closeting, doesn't seem to understand how fucked up it is to go bother their families and friends with this. It's like people are expecting them to out Harry and Louis when they're asked about it. Which, again, is a ridiculous concept considering they're so severely closeted. So, no, larries don't have the power to make stuff about larry or to ruin solid friendships or make denials happen. The idea of larries being the ones to be blamed is absolutely ridiculous... and it's also the key point of the denials, you just hit the nail in the head by mentioning this!

There's this popular strategy used for changing people's minds or trying to shut down a particular idea, that consists in basically putting people against each other. It happens in politics, marketing and a number of other scenarios. And that’s what 1DHQ did since it was decided that larry rumours needed to be shut down. So instead of only using denials and beards, it was being pushed down everyone’s throats that believing larry was wrong, absurd, disrespectful. They started to promote larries as “not real fans”. So whenever a larrie would stand up and be vocal about it, we would be instantly silenced by other people in the fandom and called *delulu*. “Larry is a load of bullshit” “conspiracy theories” “disrespectful”. They were basically dividing the fandom by doing these kinds of denials, they created doubts in people’s minds and they wouldn’t need to rely on denials coming from H&L every single time, that way they had part of the fanbase already doing the dirty job for them by oppressing any kind of ideas about larry. Now, for something to be effective, everyone needs to play the game. If friends and family are going to out them, there’s no reason for the closeting to be happening in the first place. And we always talk about how people close to them have a massive part in pushing narratives and stunts. It sounds organic, it sounds more believable. So, naturally, they would need to play the “larries are crazy” game too. And it is what it is, that’s how things need to go. That’s why these kinds of denials happen and it will keep happening as long as they’re closeted.

Lastly, I would just like to add something else. You mentioned “undeniable anti proof” and elounor plot holes… and I think you’re trying to make sense of things from the original narrative point of view when I personally think it should be the other way around. Elounor doesn’t need to have plot holes, and antis don’t need “proofs”. This is not what makes larry real, what makes larry real is the consistency. Week after week, month after month. Patterns were created and then reinforced over and over. Consistency and context are much stronger than words and denials and stunts, and that’s what they keep showing us. the cornerstone of self-idolization and lack of self-preservation: our ex-twt stan + has a cc as a sibling rant

preface: my system joined mcyttwt a while back (i can't remember exact times due to personal reasons) and it genuinely contributed to the downfall and spiral of our mental health in the past year. especially from my perspective as a protecter alter, i saw the brunt of things that stressed us to the point of detriment. our sibling has half a million followers on some platforms (not mcyt) and we have seen firsthand through him how pressure from online can affect ccs. (we will not be speaking on his experience as they probably do not want us to publically.) also sorry if this is a little incoherent we had a seizure this morning- this is just to get everything off our chest.

DEHUMANIZATION + STANDARDS:

b4 i start here's the dictionary definition of dehumanization: "transitive verb. : to deprive (someone or something) of human qualities, personality, or dignity: such as. a : to subject (someone, such as a prisoner) to inhuman or degrading conditions or treatment "… you treat people with respect, you get respect back." + heres smth from brenebrown.com "Maiese defines dehumanization as “the psychological process of demonizing the enemy, making them seem less than human and hence not worthy of humane treatment.” Dehumanizing often starts with creating an enemy image."

the dehumanization of content creators on mcyttwt is disgusting. they are placed on pedestals and expected to walk on eggshells when creating their own content and writing THEIR OWN tweets and messages- they are expected to drop FRIENDS over what teenagers on twitter who don't know them personally thought of them. they were expected to respond to death-threats and criticism and harassment with a big smile and an apology for whatever they did. they are people who are not treated as people by stan twitter- they are treated as higher-than while simultaneously lesser-than when they are normal people who make mistakes. this is not okay. having interpersonal relationships + making mistakes & learning from them are basic parts of life that these content creators are being stripped of by twitter's cesspool of a community and it's so blatant and disgusting that they are faced with daily swarms of harassment for simply making mistakes + making friends + having lives while making content.

(side-note: another form of dehumanization is the fact that twitter consistently strips people of their privacy and private lives. cc or not you are expected to put everything about yourself out there [face included ie: selfie day] and that's blatantly unsafe for minors and adults alike. the way they dig into personal histories and pasts and relationships while simultaneously preaching "respect boundaries" is disgusting and deplorable.)

twitter's policy of "i stan this person, i like their content" while simultaneously harassing the ones that they claim to enjoy content from is confusing at best. it is detrimental to any cc's health. the villianization of ccs is fucking ridiculous.

WHITE SAVIORS:

coming from a poc person, twitter has a rampant disgusting problem with white saviors 👍🏼. i don't even need to get into it, everyones seen it and you all know. also i'm not even getting into how mcyttwt treats mexicans 👍🏼 i'm not your little maraca drug cartel "ayyy man" meow meow, emily.

PERFORMATIVE ACTIVISM:

twitter preaches to not be performaitve in lifting up voice and then is preformaitve.

there's countless threads that are out there just for clicks and likes (ie. "things not to say to a trans person" *states the most obvious shit like 'don't call them their agab'*) for fucking popularity. it's all the time, people chase clout under the guise of pretending to care about minorities. it's sickening, especially when they bring race or ethnicity into these threads for their ""activism"".

MISOGYNY:

twitter's gender bias is again, blatant.

female ccs will call out the same behaviors male ccs get praised for calling out and will get degraded and put down and have their name trending under "[name] neg //" for hours after the tweet is sent, they'll be harassed for days afterward and shamed. their bodies will be judged by fucking randoms who have no place saying anything (women aren't objects!). they get shit for the same thing male ccs do with no consequences. it's disgusting, it's blatant, and it's not being talked about or addressed.

PERSONAL AFFECTS:

it never allowed for enjoying content. it was contestant stressful pressure to keep up with every minute and miniscule detail of what a cc did, constantly choosing sides and never being allowed to speak outside of what the collective group on twitter thought. having an opinion other than "this is wrong and should be the downfall of this human person" was not allowed. there was an issue every day, we felt like we couldn't say we enjoyed anything without someone coming in our dms like "um.. did you know [insert something mildly problematic]... you should delete that post about liking them." and god forbid when "cc neg //" would trend because everyone couldn't maturely move on from something that wasn't a big deal. twitter has made my system SPLIT NEW ALTERS because of the stress and obligation we felt to keep up with every minute detail. (albeit we are polyfrag and prone to splitting, and our co-host at the time was an emotionally volatile dream introject during a very dream-critical time. that still doesn't excuse the toxic environment that caused the splits in the first place :|.)

what twitter does to people- especially ccs, is unsafe and unpleasant at best and traumatizing at worst. these people need to grow the up, put on their big boy pants and realize that not everything is about them.

all of this is off the top of my head too :| we've been waiting to rant about this since we got ON twitter. this doesn't even scratch the surface of the abelism and babying of ND ppl or people with disabilities + the other horrid shit that happens on that app.

tl;dr twitter touch fucking grass and do it FAST holy shit. please go outside and talk to people. get a job. read a book. do some math or something idk.

I'm still reluctant to join this side of the fandom because from what I've seen so far, it's a mess. Let me start with the easiest thing to answer. V and Jk are two members from BTS whose relationship is shockingly real to me. I avoided writing their names or their cp name out cuz I didn't want my pinned post to show up in those searches. Unlike with ggdd, I never got the impression they'd be okay with speculations about them, though. So I don't ever feel the need to analyze or discuss about them. I just quietly believe in and support them.

You got xfx and mtjj right. Xfx is the official fan name for XZ's solo fans. Mtjj is not an official fan name, though, i.e. Yibo or his company never made it official, as far as I know. It stands for motojiejie which means motorcycle sisters, there's also mtgg = motorcycle brothers but you'll mostly see mtjj. Bxg is what ggdd's cp fans are called. It stands for BoXiaoGirls/Guys. It can also stand for baixiangguo which means "passion fruit". And there's a third meaning which I don't know but has something to do with turtles and which is why you're likely to see bxg refer to themselves as turtles. Bjyx is ggdd's main, fanmade cp name. It was coined back in April 2018, after XZ and WYB only just got confirmed as the actors who get to play WWX and LWJ. One of the rules in the bjyx supertopic on weibo is that you can't switch their "roles". And those were solely based on wang/xian but I suppose once fans realized that ggdd is actually real and their dynamic is vastly different from wang/xian, they came up with different cp names for different dynamics. There's also zsww and lsfy. (Sidenote; if I remember correctly, bjyx means “to make your special someone smile”. Zsww means “lord over a district/castle” and lsfy means “chain reaction”) And as far as I know, zsww fans are called little bandits and lsfy fans are called baby lotus. I apologize if me explaining this makes you feel weird in any way (cuz this fandom separation is dumb af) - I just wanna give you any info I have cuz you might come across some of this, at least. Anyway, the most common abbreviations you'll see; bxg = ggdd cp fans and bjyx = ggdd's cp name. There's also bjyxszd 博君一肖是真的 which means "bjyx is real" or bjyxszd 并肩于学山之巅 which means "side by side atop the snowy summit" and is a phrase that bxg use to hide the first phrase in plain sight, so to say.

I don't know what it's called but there's actually also a supertopic on weibo for XZ and WYB solo fans who believe that ggdd is real but are still only solo fans. So truthfully, you can't really generalize that. Some solo fans do believe in ggdd and are supportive but not necessarily openly. I (like to) think most solo fans are just dedicated to their idol and don't care about anything or anyone else and that's it. The rest, though... yeah, those are the obnoxious ones. Who made up ridiculous conspiracy theories about how Yibo and his company are responsible for what happened last February to gg. Or who make up theories about how XZ only got as successful as he is because he copied Yibo. They really want to believe that ggdd aren’t special to each other or that they even hate one another. So they come up with the dumbest bs to e.g. vilify XZ. Like, about a year ago, mtjj got mad at gg cuz they thought he, as dd's boyfriend, must have forced dd to sell one of his motorcycles. When Yibo uses kadian, they think he just does it to bait cp fans. But when XZ uses kadian, he's being the worst, most careless boyfriend and how tf could he put Yibo in danger like that. And yes, I've seen the same hateful mtjj spout such contradictory nonsense. It can be quite hilarious, ngl. I only follow decent solo stans so I truthfully don't know what the newest sh-t is that antis/solos have come up with.

When it comes to bxg... yes, there are a lot of supporters but also way too many who seem to be unable to separate ggdd from novel!wang/xian. They so badly want only bjyx - that dynamic - to be real that they constantly feel the need to "change reality" to make it happen by e.g. misgendering gg, drawing him smaller than dd and/or more feminine, making assumptions about him and his character that are simply untrue but fit their preferred dynamic so they keep spreading those assumptions. They way they view XZ is wrong and beyond disrespectful and yet, they call themselves fans. I genuinely hope you'll never even have to see any thing of the sort. I don't actually know anything about bxg, wanting to combine the solo fandoms xD I guess, ideally that would be desirable but I wonder if that's even possible.

About recs, I could recommend you some twt accounts or on here, gif makers and fanartists that I like and follow but I don't follow any ggdd blogs that make a lot of text posts. And just to be clear, I don't make many text posts myself either. I stay away from rumors (unless they become more than that) and from stalker info and from all the reaching, too. You might find it interesting, I don't know, but me, I see no point, mulling over any and every minute connection between ggdd that may or may not even be real. It gets too invasive or ridiculous imo. I actually also stay away from all that recent behind the scenes footage of ggdd because I highly disapprove of the way it was acquired. I only comment on things about them that I consider reasonable and possibly noteworthy and that preferably come from the men themselves. And occasionally, I gush about how cute and perfect they are together. Sorry I can't be more helpful with this last question >.<

I think, in general, those claims about Dream fans being superficial and losing interest once he face reveals - because he won't live up to our standards - are weird and bullshit projections of either their own insecurities or outlook on people. I'm sure some fair-weather twt stans will jump ship and be cruel about it, but they're not who I think of when I think of a fan so I don't think that really means anything.
