Nailgun Sue image is an artist's rendition by the runners of this tournament. The Witch image is of Vanessa Williams as The Witch on the 2002 Broadway revival of the show.
Propaganda under the cut.
Nailgun Sue:
She’s just a crazy old lady that lives in my small town of 100 people and and walks around with a nail gun and small generator and fires nails into random shit around town including random peoples homes, fences, and light posts. She has been colloquially dubbed nailgun sue. Frankly in my mind she is the definition of morally gray girlboss. She looks like the old lady from courage the cowardly dog, just trust me
The Witch:
She’s literally my dream theater role. She’s so evil and vengeful and bitter and totally owns that fact. She got baby Rapunzel from the Baker’s family and then decided to cure them with infertility too, just for shits and giggles. She genuinely tried to be a good mom to Rapunzel but it’s toxic and abusive as hell. Her view point at the end of the first act is basically, “ok, I got what I wished for, my beauty back, but I lost my daughter and my magic. I really fucked this one up didn’t I.” She’s got a weird rivalry thing going with the Baker’s ghost(?) dad that implies a whole lot more history then what we’re directly told in the story. She also alludes to a mysterious tragic backstory a couple times but we don’t get to know any of it. She’s one of the biggest supporters of the whole narrator-murder plot. She fully wants to sacrifice a child to save everybody else. At the end of Last Midnight she just kinda screams and vanishes, and it’s unclear if she got crushed, just ran away forever and never saw the group again, or fully exploded from having had enough of everybody’s shit.

On The Witch's Motto
Nimona:
She's not morally ambiguous, she's a poor little meow meow but she deserves to be in a pool so she feels better. Also the powerful rage and will to destroy and murder is there. She's not a girl, she's a shark, but she's also the best girl
Girlbossest girlboss. Willing to kill for (good?) causes, wants to be a sidekick to a villain but also doesn't really want to be hated and feared. When you weigh the motivations of her comic versions and her movie version i'd say it balances out to Morally Grey.
