Personally, I want to work towards a future where people can simply ~exist~ in harmony with each other. Each day is about living.. not finding the means to an end which is money and our current capitalistic system. This is not real freedom.
Okay, so I came up with a new au about the wizard of oz.
Hear me out... Dorothy get possessed by the wicked witch of the east because the ruby slippers actually carry the soul of her and she wants to get revenge on not only Dorothy, but everyone in oz.
I think that would be a fun story. Like think of all the ✨lore✨ that would be in it.
You know, Anon, actually my first thought when I saw this...actually was holy crap, but the second thought was that looks more like the Wicked Witch of the East after the house lands on her...but make it pink.
CHARACTER FILES: THE WICKED WITCH OF THE EAST (AKA: BABY)
First Appearance: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
Portrayed by: Ollie Mantoani
The youngest of a coven of witch sisters who migrated to Oz just as it became enchanted. Baby wanted so desperately to be like her older sister, Sissy, that she began to emulate her.
In time, Baby became a tyrant, and was known by all of Oz as the Wicked Witch of the East. Baby’s unique power of terraforming and creating nature, mixed with her obsession over beauty, ensured that her kingdom was the loveliest in all of Oz.
She met her end when her body crumbled into dust upon the impact of Dorothy Gale’s falling farm house.
"Sozinha e sem amor, com essa estranha no espelho... Ela sou eu, a Bruxa Má do Leste"
Another Wicked Brasil fanart, this one portraying a scene I like a lot, while Nessa sings and Elphaba prepares her spell Nessa starts mimicking her movements as she says she is the Wicked Witch of the East. Very very iconic everyone should watch it
How steeped in colonialism is our country? Spot what’s missing from Andrew Jackson’s biography on the White House webpage: https://www.whitehouse.gov/about-the-white-house/presidents/andrew-jackson/
ANSWER: There is no mention of the Indian Removal Act - a law signed into place in 1830 (the second year of his eight year ruling!) allowing Jackson to set aside tribal land west of the Mississippi in exchange for tribal lands occupied in the East. The Cherokee Indians of the Georgia state region took this up with the Supreme Court in a case titled “Cherokee Nation v. Georgia.” The Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Cherokee Nation granting them the right to self-govern on their land and stating that Georgia’s extension of state law was unconstitutional. Jackson refused to enforce the courts decision and thus the Trail of Tears began. Keep in mind, the Cherokee Nation had just played a pivotal role in helping Andrew Jackson win the war of 1812. They were allies for the man, and this is how he treated them.
The Cherokee Nation did everything right according to the “system” and still, an abuse of power lead to destruction. This was one of the first legal precedents of our system exploiting and undermining the marginalized.
My life is steeped in hipocracy. Uphold Cherokee v. Georgia!! Accountability for abusive presidents!!
