We've gotten so many clips for tomorrow's episode, Gina and Carlos seems to butt heads a lot, EJ gets bad news, Ashlyn being so supportive of Gina, NINI SINGS THAT SAD SONG AT THE BUS STATION HELLO WHAT IS THAT 38 SECOND CLIP AND WHY DID IT MAKE ME CRY????
Anyways.
This episode seems like it gonna be the first real episode this season, if you know what I mean. The story and each character's development seems to be progressing nicely and honestly I'm here for it.
the last 3 episodes weren't bad, in fact I love them a lot, but you have to admit that not much happened in terms of the plot moving forward.
The season's just getting started and it's already miles ahead of season 1 in my books.
See you clowns tomorrow✌️

that mask is the true villain in season 2
“Belle, I-” flops

“Not so good at saying the feelings part out loud”
shiz that hit close to home.
Seb is just making me cry today, isn’t he?
wait so we’re just going to change the subject? coming from a queer person, opening up about your problems about your sexuality is hard. like, there are things that happened years ago im just telling people.
“You’re my sister, he’s my cousin”
it seems everyone except nina knows about the chocolates. imagine gossip time when gina told people write a fic
Nini just stop talking. It wasn’t a big deal, simple mistake. Not everything has to be big and dramatic
and wasn’t she just asking about Gina and Ej?
Nini for the love of god it is not something to read into.
“The farmer type”
Ash and Red exchanging gossip
wait... why are they texting about this?

I WAS RIGHT
OH MY GOD
SHIT GUYS IM DYING
gah the hands i cant
carlos is leading i love it
the tie
a tie just killed me
im combusting
You’re honor, they’re in love
i really thought carlos was going in for a kiss he is probably getting one later
i like how the dance isn’t big, it’s small and a little awkward bc right then it’s just them.
THEYRE SO IN LOVE HOLY SHIT
damnit big red
big red is legally required to interrupt almost kiss moments especially if it’s an lgbt kiss bc we cant have two in one season
in a heartbeat is so cute. Frankie showed UP this season with the vocals. there is no way that was all acting bc they looked so in love.
I...I love it
the lyrics are perfect
In a Heartbeat and Let You Go are probably the best OG songs of the season
“Siri, add In a Heartbeat to my gay sob playlist”
these boys are just serenading each other left and right
“Yeah”
so it’s just “yeah”!?!? That’s it!?!?! Seb could have least kissed him on the cheek or did they use all their kisses?
I love the song and love the scene, but there is so much more to discuss. Are we going to brush over the fact that Seb literally had an allergic reaction and didn’t get help because he didn’t want to disappoint Carlos!?!? Are we going to brush over “no, seb” and seb feeling like he has to get carlos big things!?! One “yeah” doesn’t erase all that. I’m hoping we get closure, proper closure, not a joke.
In conclusion, only one thing was settled (Carlos loves Seb for Seb, not because he is the only out guy in school).
“Seb and Carlos suffer their first fight” effing liars
BTW it looks like they filmed the dance scene with the homecoming suits and normal outfits so disney release the footage
Ricky is the biggest Seblos shipper
“Bro”
you morons. are you using rigging without an adult there?!?!
im pretty sure that isn’t allowed. only trained people were allowed to use the rigging. it should be Natalie since she did it in HSM
you should have gotten mats are something or stand in a circle
gahhh
RICKY
OH MY FRICKING GOD
NO ONE RAN THEY JUST WATCHED WTF
WTF WAS THAT ENDING
UMMMMM NO
i legit have no words oh my god
they just killed the lead
you guys saw the rope you should have ran
you should have gotten mats or blankets or something just in case
rigging is difficult, set rigging and people rigging
EAST HIGH WTF
Looks like the sleepover is going to be in the ER
My gay heart is full but my theater heart is screaming. The episode went by really fast. I liked it, like a lot.
To answer the question, no, I am not okay @organic-guacamole and we will have a theater kid sleepover

3, 28 and 35 for the three of them! :^3c
HELLO!! IT YOU!! Omg ty so much for submitting an ask!! :0
Separated by character to make reading a bit easier UwU💖
A/N: Again based on Castillion/Ersailles in the cannon Arcanaverse (making an acception for question #28) (Also Ray and Seb aren’t as developed as Lyra is, I have rped with her the most, so answers might not be a refined as you hoped?? If you have any further questions or inquiries feel free to dm me!!💝)
3 has been answered already here for all three!!
Raymond 🎼
28. If your character was in today’s world, what social media platforms would they avoid? Or be prominent on?
Wattpad is #1 on Raymond’s list for places to avoid due to the fact that during research for a school project he accidentally stumbled upon some smut of Beethoven x Mozart and Raymond was horrified. Not at the smut, but just how badly written it was. Raymond would probably post original sample songs on TicTok a lot. He would even help other musicians on the platform develop their skills in playing all kinds of instruments. (Including the kazoo). He has Facebook and Instagram for family and business things.
More under the cut 💝
35. What attracts your character to another person? What kind of person do they do for?
Raymond is a very kind and complimenting person. He’s so genuinely nice, that he’ll accidentally lead people on without even meaning too. He easily tells his friends that he loves them dearly, he even does this to acquaintances. It’s not until a “love triangle dispute” breaks out that Raymond has to hold up his hands and tell the group (yes GROUP, it’s mostly groups of people who confront him) that he thinks their all wonderful people but he’s not interested in courting. Raymond first of all isn’t a fan of love at first sight. He really wants to befriend a person he’s interested in before letting the lovey dovey feelings take over. Music is a sure gateway into his heart hands down. If someone hes interested in simply even mentions the fact that they will sing/perform for him he will fall in love 10000000 times quicker. When Raymond does find someone attractive and starts feeling things he won’t hesitate in his plans to woo them. He looks for the little details of a person as well, like how someone will scrunch up their nose when their thinking, or hum a certain way when they do dishes, it’s little unique things like that Raymond loves and appreciates in his partners. And you bet your ass he will comment on them just to see them stop and think, especially if it’s something his S/O hasn’t noticed about themself before. (He is However occasionally oblivious to receiving attention from whomever he does have feelings for). He’ll write poetry, songs, operas, hec even a full on concert just based on how wonderful he thinks a certain suitor is. (Raymond is also a switch)
Sébastien ;)
28. If your character was in today’s world, what social media platforms would they avoid? Or be prominent on?
Sèbastien’s job in some modern!AUs is centered around fashion blogging. So straying away from pretty much any kind of social media is something he wouldn’t do. However I think he would be most active on Instagram. That is where his following would mostly flock from.
35. What attracts your character to another person? What kind of person do they do for?
Sèbastien is a hoe. He sees anyone he remotely likes and he will make a move. It could by by a simple comment, or even the way they look. If Sèbastien’s head says “this person is wonderful I must bed them.” Then he will make every effort too, but he won’t cross any lines ever if the person truly isn’t interested. However Sèbastien catches feelings quick and easily. Which scares 90% of his LIs off because they’re just wanting one night stands, and those that do want to stay with him end up getting scared by how clingy he is, and by all of the gift giving he’s prone to do. It is the people who choose to stay, that really makes the difference in Sèbastien. Those are the lovers he treasures. He is absolutely more of an “act now think later” kind of person when it comes to love in general. When there is someone Sèbastien is interested in, and he his making a conscious choice to be a gentleman, it’s not based on his own selfish wants to get sex out of them, but it’s because he respects the person he wants to/or currently is courting. He knows relationships are give and take. Sèbastien will put in the work of dating, he’s a master at romance. (Like a true hoe, Sèbastien is a switch)
Lyra *~.
28. If your character was in today’s world, what social media platforms would they avoid? Or be prominent on?
Lyra isn’t really all that much of a fan of social media, or even her own phone for that matter. She’d much rather enjoy moments as they come in the real world rather than scroll through social media. She pretty much only has Instagram for her dance career (and also because Sèbastien set her up with one).
35. What attracts your character to another person? What kind of person do they do for?
Lyra believes herself to be a hopeless romantic. She is totally convinced that she will die alone and she is perfectly fine with it. Physical attraction comes after knowing the character and contents of the person’s mind, and what makes them...well...them. Lyra will always end up falling in love with the friends she had made that is a fact. (I’ve done a lot of rps with Lyra with so many diverse Ocs, most of whom belong to dear friends. So it’s hard to say what exactly she looks for in a partner, but here are some things that seem to work well in the rps I’ve done in the past.) She tends to fall for the friends who appreciate her talents/hobbies and value her as a person. For some reason as well, (I honestly don’t know why) Lyra also tends to fall for people with troubled pasts. Lyra wants to help them find healing, and it is often through that journey that Lyra catches the feelies. When Lyra does start to have the feely feelies, she will deny it to herself. Giving her a million and one reasons as to why someone as amazing as the person she’s simping after would never want to be with a girl like her. However her mind will wander if she’s spending time with the person and she’s having a quiet moment with them. She’ll watch the way they laugh, or simply how they just exist. She’ll think on all the things she loves about them, and then she’ll snap herself out of her staring and her pale face will bloom into a red blush. (Also any physical actions made towards her by that person will be met with a blush fest and possibly some nervous stuttering, which is something said person had never seen prior to the feelings getting caught) (Lyra is a submissive babe...and I love her TvT)
Thank you oh so much for the ask I really do appreciate it!! (This is your daily reminder that I love your ocs 😳💝)

Request: Could we get one about Ricky finding out Gina is staying
Part One
*****
Ricky turned his car off as him and Nini were sitting in her driveway in silence.
“Hey,” Nini placed her hand in Ricky’s to grab his attention, “Are you okay?” Ricky stared at their intertwined fingers, remembering the look on Gina’s face when she noticed them holding hands just moments earlier. He felt like he had done something terrible knowing that he probably should have mentioned to her that he was now dating Nini. Ricky asked himself if he really should have.
He knows that him and Gina weren’t exactly your most platonic friendship. The pair had been seen flirting multiple times in rehearsals, in the hallways and basically anywhere else you could find them. He reminisced on all of their conversations they would have late at night when the other couldn’t sleep or the times where her face would light up whenever he would sing to her one of his songs he’d been working on. Finally, Ricky thought back to the homecoming dance and their ride home afterwards.
That damn kiss on the cheek.
Who knew that one little peck could change him forever?
But then she went away.
Gone just like that, no phone calls, no text messages. She just ... left.
Ricky’s world was turned upside down for days. He didn’t have the same eagerness to show up to rehearsals as he did before. Whenever he thought of a funny joke, he would turn to tell Gina and stop himself because she wasn’t sitting there next to him. Gina had no idea how much she hurt Ricky which is why he remained distant from her when she came back for the show. And now that she’s staying? Ricky didn’t know what to do.
So he decided to go back to what he knows best, Nini. The one thing he knew in his life would never have any change was their relationship and he found comfort in that. Ricky tightened his hold on Nini’s tiny hand, “Yeah, I’m just tired. Nothing to worry about.”
Nini dropped her eye contact with Ricky and looked down towards her lap. Her thoughts were running a million miles a minute. With her acceptance to YAC, Nini had a huge decision to make. Go and pursue her dreams or stay here with all her friends and family. She knew what the right choice was but it didn’t make things any easier. She did have to handle one thing first which happened to concern the handsome boy sitting right next to her.
Sure, hearing him saying those three words she’s been waiting to hear him say for months was amazing. But as much as she loved hearing them, she had to question if either one of them truly meant what they said back in her dressing room or if they simply got caught up in playing the roles of Troy and Gabriella and having to act lovey dovey with each other for the past few weeks.
She knew she loved Ricky, there’s no doubt in her mind that he will always have a special place in her heart. He was her first love, her first everything.
But then life happens, and maybe her first love wasn’t meant to be the only love in her life.
Nini turned towards Ricky, “Can I try something real quick?” And before he even had a chance to answer, Nini grabbed his face and kissed him. When they pull apart, Nini’s mind was made up. Their kiss in the dressing room and their kiss now felt the complete opposite. Like the passion was only there before because they believed they were doing the right thing by getting back together.
“Did you feel anything?” Nini questioned.
Ricky paused, and as much as he wanted to lie and say that yes, he did feel something, he knew he couldn’t.
“It’s okay. I didn’t either.” Nini gathered his answer without him saying a word.
Ricky leaned back against his seat, “Do you think we made a mistake?”
Nini let out a laugh and sighed, “I think we made a huge mistake.” Silence fell among the teenagers, both of them contemplating on what to do next.
“What do we now?” Ricky asked the million dollar question.
“Well, I think we go back to being the best friends we used to be. We were always good at that.”
“Yeah we were, weren’t we?”
Nini waited a moment and spoke again, “I think you should go to Ashlyn’s, Ricky.” Ricky gave Nini a look, unsure of where she was going with this. Nini wasn’t as naive as everyone perceived her to be. She picked up on what was going on between Ricky and Gina for weeks and how close the two have gotten. At first, she was jealous but now, it puts everything into place.
“I need to focus on myself for a while, like seriously this time. And you, need to go talk to a certain someone.”
“So does this mean we’re broken up? Again?” Ricky couldn’t help but feel a weight lifted off his shoulders.
“Yep, and we couldn’t even last a full day! But I most definitely broke up with you this time.” Nini and Ricky both fell into a fit of laughter. There was no bad blood between them whatsoever, just two stupid teens making stupid decisions at the wrong time.
Once their laughter died down, Nini reached over to hug Ricky, “Thanks for the ride home. Goodnight Ricky.” Nini grabbed her belongings and exited Ricky’s car. Ricky watched as she entered her house, waving one last goodbye to her.
He knew what he had to do.
                                                         *****
The doorbell rang, interrupting the game of Twister that was happening in the middle of Ash’s living room. Big Red accidentally flinched at the sound therefore causing everyone to pile on top of one another. Gina, EJ, Carlos, Seb, Ashlyn and Red all burst into laughter as they tried to untangle themselves and failing miserably. Eventually, Gina was able to pull herself free, yelling to everyone that she’ll get the door.
Party games apparently weren’t the group’s forte so Ash decided to turn on her Spotify playlist at full volume and everyone collectively started to dance around each other, having the time of their lives. Gina smiled at the sight as she walked towards the door. This was all she’s ever wanted, and now she has it.
As she opened the door, she came face to face with the one and only, Ricky Bowen. Gina was taken aback at first, and then made sure no one was looking before she stepped outside and quietly closed the door behind her.
“I thought you said you were going home.” Gina tried to mask her hurt as she spoke.
“I was. Then I realized I had something more important to take care of first.” Ricky’s hands were shaking as he fought the urge to just take her in his arms and never let her go. But he knew he couldn’t do that, not now at least.
Gina crossed her arms and looked everywhere but at Ricky, knowing that the second she made eye contact with him, her emotions would pour out of her. She had just gotten him and Nini out of her mind and here Ricky was, forcing her to remember that he wasn’t hers, and he never will be.
“What, Ricky? What was so important that you had to come here?” Gina could tell her facade was starting to slip but she really just wanted to go back in with her friends instead of dealing with whatever Ricky had to say. She knew deep down that she was actually happy for them, that her two friends found love with each other once again. She just wasn’t really great at showing it.
“Nini and I made a mistake. We knew we only went back to each other because we were caught up in everything that was happening at that time and we thought getting back together was the answer.” Gina’s silence allowed Ricky to continue, “So, she broke up with me. We decided we were better as friends and honestly, that’s all we will ever be.”
Gina was shocked. Out of all the things she thought Ricky would say, it definitely wasn’t that. She tried not to get too excited because she knew that things never go the way she wants them to and she refused to let herself get hurt again.
“So, what does that mean?” She anxiously asked.
Ricky stepped closer to her, “It means that I want us to go back to what we had. Before all the drama. If that’s okay with you?”
A part of Gina wanted to say no, to push him away again to protect her own heart. But another part of her figured that maybe for once in her life, she could just let herself be happy. Here he was, the boy that made her heart skip a beat by just one look, the boy who takes up her thoughts 24/7, asking her for a second chance. How could she say no?
Gina’s lips formed into a small smile as she nodded, “That’s more than okay with me.” Ricky let out a breath he didn’t know he was holding as he grinned from ear to ear.
“Do you want to come in?” Gina giggled, unable to control her sudden happiness.
“I thought you’d never ask.” Ricky follows Gina into the house with the music still blasting and all the theater kids inside cheer happily as they see Ricky come in. Ricky makes sure to greet all of his peers before he goes to find Gina, who’s dancing to the beat of the music. He saunters up to her, holding out his hand.
Gina furrows her eyebrows, “I didn’t really think you were the dancing type.”
Ricky shrugs his shoulders, “Guess there’s a lot of things we still have to learn about each other.” Gina smirks and happily takes Ricky’s hand as they dance wildly among all of their friends.
Maybe there was hope for them after all.
a/n: i wasn’t even planning on a second part and i def didn’t mean for it to be this long BUT  we had to have our rina happy ending :,) again thanks to the lovely @itspassionfruit for the request!! i hope you liked it <3

Big Red was in photography club, “click!”
“I’m home,” *big grin*
Gina and Ricky both look so happy when they’re together
Nini looks very confused about that, but also I just kind of realized, it means Ricky’s getting along with Nini’s “enemy” of sorts
The whole on 3 or after 3 thing is so real, and also Ricky’s “Nah man, you need some new words,” hilarious
“I can’t look at Ricky is that a problem?” *innocent trying not to laugh face*
I’m glad that she can make that joke now without it being actual - she started the whole series being like “I just won’t look at him,” and now we have this!
“It’s more like I felt like I had to get it,”  → yes! Gina character growth
“So do you care about Ricky?” “So what if I do?”
Carlos has the weight of the world (show) on his shoulders
Big Red with Courtney and Gina looking at the photos, I’m really glad that he’s found himself a place in the theater too!
“Should I just live vicariously through someone else?” - amazing
“Everything’s fine, why would you guys even ask that?” - oh Carlos… he needs a hug or something.
Carlos is so sure about his “boy forest” idea, but everyone is very against it (and rightfully so)
“Do you know what a forest of trees looks like?” “I do,” “Ok, but with boys,”
Cue incredibly confused faces
I like how everyone is shouting out their ideas to try and make it better, I especially like how Ricky is taking this seriously and has an idea that he wants to share and he ACTUALLY shares it! He feels comfortable with these people!
“She’s not here and I don’t know if she’s ever coming back,” *cue slapped in the face faces*
Ricky’s world is falling apart, once again
“You know you could’ve told me,” “Miss Jenn asked me not to,”
Very cute little interaction between our bois right there
“Wow Carlos what else are you not telling us?” alright EJ, chill out bud. Just because you have a closet full of secrets doesn’t mean everybody does too
Gina and Ricky both trying to keep people there and make it work because this is their place to go after school, and also both of them staying the longest.
“Nothing fell apart, it’s all gonna be okay,” “She’s Miss Jenn, she’s unstoppable, the whole show’s unstoppable,” Ricky’s go-to way of dealing with things is denial, he can’t deal with another thing in his life falling apart. This poor boy needs some sense of certainty in his life.
“But what if it does stop?” “Let’s not go there? I can’t stop, we still have too much work to do,” Gina can see how much Ricky needs the show to go on, how much he needs this distraction to keep himself going. If he stops he’ll break down, and he doesn’t want to do that, and I think that she can tell. She also immediately asks him to hear his song idea afterwards and I think it might just be her way of trying to distract him and keep him busy so he doesn’t get stuck in his head/feelings.
Ricky looks so happy that she wants to hear his idea too!
Carlos trying to find out who told on Miss Jenn and going immediately to Mr. Mazarra
I think Mr. Mazarra actually didn’t want Miss Jenn to be fired after he saw the whole “stick to the status quo” bit. He saw what it meant to these kids
Mr. Mazarra’s also got a point, she really shouldn’t have lied on her resume
Ashlyn trying to stop EJ and then Courtney and Ashlyn immediately noping on out of there
Acoustic “When there was me and you” is fantastic
Gina is starting to see Ricky’s talent/commitment and is really enjoying it
“I don’t hate you EJ, I just don’t trust you,” oof that’s like one step removed from “I’m not mad, just disappointed,”
EJ’s rushed confession list is very funny
I don’t understand how GPA’s work? Like, what does it mean?
That was a pretty sweet moment at the end “The audience doesn’t know what they’re missing, but I do,”
“Oh, I also wrote you a really weird song once,” - yes, yes he did
Nini is really enjoying Ricky’s singing and then she’s like oh… Gina
Ricky’s little guitar riff, amazing - side note Joshua Bassett is so talented
“Acting, dancing, throwing drinks in peoples faces…”
“I kind of can’t forget about anything that happened at homecoming”  *calculating faces* - they’re both like how do we feel about each other??
“Should we be doing something” - Gina’s like ??? is that his way of asking me out?
I like that Ricky’s the one who mentions saving Miss Jenn first
Finally seeing the real side of Miss Jenn is great, but it’s sad that she can’t see how much she’s affected these kids
Carlos thinking that she wants him to direct the show
“I just hope she loves you guys half as much as I love you,”
My favourite dancer has a name!! Kaden!
I like that Big Red texted three people and got the entire cast
The only people sitting normally, in chairs are Ricky, EJ, and Courtney
Also the set up with Gina right beside Ricky, you can tell that he’s the one she trusts the most.
Nini set up between Ricky and Courtney shows that they’re the two people she cares about the most
“This is a terrible party, there aren’t even pretzels,” Natalie you weren’t even invited also whose go to snack is pretzels? Nothing against pretzels I just… usually there are other snacks that are prefered
“She was the first teacher to not see me as a punchline,” I just -- Carlos should not have had to deal with that
“So why are we all here then,” “Yeah good question, this is a waste of time,” okay Edgelord Joykiller, can you be positive for once?
“Honestly? Because she gave me a shot, and it’s been a long time since someone gave me a shot,” I just, these kids are finally getting to live and be heard, it’s beautiful. Also that reassuring knee touch from Seb? Beautifully executed.
“She put our show in jeopardy, and now we’re all here, maybe for the last time, together, and for some of us, this has become, umm I don’t know… ” “Family.” “What team?” “Wildcats!” “Ok wildcats, so what are we doing about it?”
This speech is very Troy-esque and I’m very proud of Ricky for doing it and also Nini for jumping in when she knew what Ricky wanted to say.
Oh finally, Mike and Miss Jenn are figuring out that they know each other. I like that he doesn’t immediately write her off for being kind of a liar, it would be hypocritical
“Personally I always chalked it up to the well known fact that people in the dramatic arts are insane,” ok so the principal should definitely not be saying that, that’s incredibly disrespectful. He’s supposed to be a role model??? He’s in a position of power?? That is a really messed up thing to say.
Ricky looks so surprised when his dad stands up
Nini’s mom standing up for Ricky’s dad! Yes!
EJ is starting to realize just how much the musical actually means to Ricky
I’m glad Ricky’s dad stood up and focused it on how it’s helping Ricky, not some weird way of being like I want to date you
Mr. Mazara watching them, once again, I think he has seen just how important theater is to these kids.
FLASH MOB OF PROTEST
This song gives me Hairspray vibes (I don’t really know why)
I love all of the quick points on beat
Ashlyn and Ricky should always sing together - their voices were just *chef’s kiss*
Ricky and Red dancing together! (Also Larry Saperstein filling in and learning the dance because Dara Renee hurt her knee? He is so good!)
Seb! That voice!
This choreography is fantastic
Ricky and Gina singing together, also great!
Natalie getting a solo!
Mr. Mazara is so impressed (and I am too)
Ricky jumping on that table! And then just continuing to dance on it
Jazz squares! - Sharpay and Ryan would approve - lol
MISS JENN sign in the background
Standing ovation - the parents all look so proud of their kids for standing up for what they believe in!
Kaycee Stroh! With her original dance! “I love to pop, and lock, and jam, and break,”
“How did you do this?” “We stayed up all night” - these kids care so much about Miss Jenn and the musical and I love them for their hearts
Nini and Seb friendship, we stan
Ricky and Gina’s hug is adorable and now I really want a hug where someone picks me up.
Nini is not sure how to feel about them being together
Ej looks at Ricky and Gina first and then at Nini, what are they trying to tell us?
Text from Gina is interesting, she is definitely interested in him
Mike and Miss Jenn - Ricky seems happy about it?
I don’t know if he’s just happy that his dad is getting along with Miss Jenn or if he wants his dad to be with Miss Jenn?

Can you do an imagine where Sebastian and reader and secretly dating and no one on the New Directions knows but then they get caught in Sebastian’s dorm room kissing?

The idea that we should hate the warblers just because they’re our competition is ridiculous. Glee’s all about bringing music lovers together so we can make friends. Can't we all just be one?
What I really mean is cAN THEY JUST GET OVER IT SO I CAN KISS MY BOYFRIEND!?
I’d met Sebastian before I even knew he was a warbler. We went on a couple dates before it even came up. And when it did we didn’t mind that much. A little friendly competition. Plus doing duets with a boyfriend is actually a really cool way to spend a date.
When New Directions and the Warblers started feuding we agreed not to tell them despite the Warblers knowing.
Maybe it’s, because it's an all-boys school or them, aren’t as petty but theirs so much less drama. If we told the New Directions, they wouldn’t be happy. Hell, they might kick me out.
When I told Sebastian, he didn’t believe me…until I told him about Jesse. Sure, Jesse did turn out to be a bad guy, but Sebastian didn’t even know I was in glee when we met.
Glee club was normally fun but right now their all arguing over whether we should do something to the Warblers. Rachel wants to do a sing-off, Mr Shue wants to make peace, Finn wants to break some headlights, and Santana wants to break some kneecaps.
As their fighting, I take a back seat. And something somewhat relevant is that I'm texting Bash who’s also bored in practice. They need to practise a trio act for a local event, so he and some other warblers are able to have a break.
“What do you think (Y/N)?” I pause writing my message and look up to see Rachel standing with her hands on her hips “Shouldn't we show them what we're made of?”
Normally I’m a petty betty but not this time “Honestly I think you should chill. Getting worked up just shows them your scared their gonna win.” I shrug. My answers based in truth since Bash and I had been talking about it last night.
Everyone stared at me, wide-eyed “Who replaced you? Are you malfunctioning?” Kurt asked.
“I just can't be bothered wasting our time and effort when we could be practising.”
“(Y/N) is right,” Mr Shue cuts in “We should be practising. C’mon, everyone start to warm up. We practise in 5.”
I sigh and finish my text, telling Bash I had to go.
Y – Gotta go. Love you
S – love you too. Love your eyes and hair and perfect personality. Love everything about you especially the fact I can call you mine. Can't wait to see you after school
An involuntary smile spreads across my face. Everyone might think he's the devil but if anything, he’s an angel who fell but gets back up.
“What you smiling at?” I snap my head up to see Rory trying to look at my phone.
I quickly put it on standby so all he sees is a black screen. “Nothing.”
“OH, (Y/N) is texting a boy” He sang. This gathered some attention.
“You have a boyfriend?”
“Since when?”
“You talk to boys?”
“Who is it?”
I groan “I'm not talking to anyone.”
“Sure” Rory drags out his word “Then pray tell us why you were grinning like you found a pot of gold.”
I was silent for a moment “My mom made brownies.”
“Your mom can't bake,” Blaine points out “So who's the boy toy?”
“Have you lot got nothing better to do than talk about my lack of love life?” I cross my arms over my chest.
“Maybe practise?” Mr Shue suggests.
I'm grateful they're forced to drop the subject. But I'm even more grateful its last period and I can go see Seb after.
I watch the clock tick tick tick, and as soon as the second land hits 12 I grab my bag. Ring. I'm out the door the second it rings.
One of the warblers, John, has a car and was on a coffee run so said he could take me over to Dalton after school. I had to be quick though. For one, so I wasn’t rude, and two because his car didn’t exactly fit in.
It's no secret that Dalton students are well off. Especially since my ride drove a shiny black Range Rover. It contrasts the dented, banged up cars people from my school drive.
Jumping in the car I inhale the luxury car smell. “When I get my licence, you have got to hook a friend up,” I tell him.
He chuckles “You know my dad owns the dealership. Thiers a friends and family discount,”
I sigh a sigh of happiness as I lean back into the seat, fastening my belt. “Let's get out of here. It's bringing down the value of your car.”
“Trust me, I know.”
Honestly, since dating Seb, the warblers have become some of my closest friends. Like in uptown girl they actually are intrigued by how ‘normal’ people live. Last weekend some of us went to a normal café for lunch and some of them got confused since the food names were in English.
I only talk with the Warblers for around a minutes before Sebastian pulls me aside “Hey, you left your book in my dorm. Come to get it?” Which was code for ‘I want to be alone with you and you better start walking quick or I'm not responsible for my actions’.
  Santana’s POV
That (Y/N) is a slippery one. During a short practise break, I walk over to Kurt, hair gel, and Mercedes. “Something's up with (Y/N) and I don’t like it.”
“Huh?”
I roll my eyes at Mercedes. “They're never off their phone, they practically sprint out of school, and when was the last time they hung out after school or at weekends?” I cross my arms.
They all only suddenly seem to realise “Your right. They are being strange.” Kurt says.
“Duh. That’s why I'm here.”
“Well, what are we meant to do? They're not gonna tell us.” Hair gel buts in.
I roll my eyes like it’s the most obvious thing in the world. “We follow them.”
So, hair gel backed out. Something about morals or something. But Mercedes and Kurt were down. Like I thought they basically ran out of the room. We were hot on their tails.
But this got the attention of everyone's least favourite couple. “Where are you going?” Rachel and Finn ran to keep up with us.
I looked as they got into a nice ass car and sped off. “Hey, can we borrow your car.” It wasn’t really a question and I was already by his passenger door.
“Wha- “
“It’s an emergency,” Kurt told him.
We managed to convince him, but he and Berry decided to come. We managed to get 3 or 4 cars behind them, so we could still see them.
Then they turned into Dalton? Are they trying to steal (Y/N)? everyone shares a look and Finn turns in.
When we walk in I walk over to the first boy I see; a small skinny nerdy kid with thicker glasses than his skull “Hey, dork.” I walk over “You seen (Y/N). ‘Bout this tall- “I went to describe them, but he cut me off.
“Yeah, she went with Sebastian.” He answered almost instantly.
I looked back to everyone else with a confused look, matching theirs, “Where are they?”
  (Y/N) POV
Times like these are the best. Its quiet, peaceful, and we don’t have to worry about time or someone walking in and seeing Seb’s tongue down my throat.
His dorm mate has gaming club till 6 so we have 2 and a half hours. Plus, in Dalton, they have a code. No, not the standard tie or sock over the door. Instead if there’s a school bag by the door they get the memo. Alone time. Or if you have a partner together time.
“You're beautiful,” Seb murmured against my lips.
“I love you.”
His thumb strokes over my cheek, almost touching my lip “I'm in awe of you. I didn’t realise you could love someone this much.” However, his mood seems to change slightly when he rolls us so he’s on top of me “Or that someone could be this hot.”
He kisses me harder than before, becoming more intense. His hands roam my body as mine tug on his hair, making him groan.
I know where this is going to lead, especially when I wrap my legs around his waist to pull him closer.
Its pure bliss until “What the fuck!” Our heads both snapped to the side to see 5 shocked looking New Directions standing in the doorway, holding the backpack.
Sebastian drops his head into the crook of my neck, murmur “Of fucking course.” While I lay there stunned.
Quickly I detach my legs and drop my hands. Sebastian looks up from my neck “Can you like leave? were in the middle of something.” I didn’t even know what to say.
“Yeah defiling our friend!” Kurt accuses.
Sebastian smirks “(Y/N) wasn’t complaining. Not even when I- “
“I don’t want to hear it!” Finn said, shaking his head.
I tap Sebastian's shoulder, making him look at me “Didn’t we talk about not telling them?”
“I think they’ve figured it out, babe.”
“Babe?!” Santana screeches.
Sensing this wasn’t going to be over quickly Sebastian sat up, letting me do the same. I smoothed down my hair, seeing Mercedes shake her head out the corner of my eyes. “I can't believe this. You're fraternizing with the enemy.”
“Keep your enemies close?” I try. They shake their heads. I sigh, sitting up properly. “Look, you guys don’t get a say in this. We met, not knowing that we were in glee clubs. We also, unlike you, aren’t afraid of a little competition. And we enjoy spending time with each without involving music. So, get over it.”
“What if you give away all out secrets?” Rachel asked in her high-pitched voice. “Then what?”
“Why would I do that? I want to wipe the floor with them.”
“Not a chance” Bash said.
I roll my eyes “Honey when we were singing Taylor Swift Love Story you were flatter than a 12-year-old girl. I have nothing to worry about.”
“At least we can dance.” He countered.
“Oh yes, how boyband chic” I roll my eyes. “Your just mad because you and the boys are going to have to pay up.”
“Pay up?” Mercedes asked.
I turned to them, having almost forgetting they were still their “Oh yeah we have a bet on. If the warblers win, I’ll have to clean every one of their bedrooms. But if we win- “
“-we all have to work for (Y/N) for a week. As PA’s, cooks, cleaners, or whatever their twisted hearts decides.”
Kurt shook his head “I still don’t approve. You’re just using (Y/N) to hurt them. You probably don’t even like them- “
“Don’t you ever say that again,” Sebastian stood up. I tried to grab his hand, but he moved. Apparently, when he brought me up to his dad he had highly discouraged the relationship and was now very defensive. “You don’t get it because your too wrapped up in your own problems. But I love (Y/N). I would rather quit the warblers than break up. Hell, I’d even start buying target clothes rather than breakup.”
I almost gasped. Sebastian's wardrobe was probably more expensive than all my possessions combined. Lucky bastard.
“Then do it. We’ll only ever approve if you quit Glee.” Santana glared at him, arms crossed.
He looked at me “Fine. I’ll text the warblers now.” He reached for his phone.
“No!” I grabbed it out of his hand “Your all being ridiculous. You don’t get a say in our relationship. And you're not quitting glee. You’ve been dancing since you were 3 and singing for years and I'm not going to be the person who gets in the way.”
“It’s the only way.” Santana stood strong.
Mercedes, Finn, and even Kurt seemed to be a little conflicted, but Rachel and Satan stood strong. “Fine,” I shrugged “I quit Glee. Good luck finding someone to learn my choreography in 2 weeks and getting a new member.”
Rachel and Santana looked at each other “Fine,” Rachel sighed “You can…do whatever this is,” she gestured at us with a disgusted look “But no spilling secrets!”
“Didn’t plan on it.” She nodded.
Santana walked over to shake on it. After Sebastian said, “Now can you all leave, we were in the middle of something.”
“Ew,” Santana said, holding her hands in the air with a shaking head as she left.
“Oh and put the bag back.”
“Why?”
“Teachers found out about the tie, not bags.”
“EW!”

Rider Challenge #3: The Beach
URL: @roseravenkey
@thescorpioracesfestival
Character: Tessa Westfall
Despite my turmoil of the news Rea gave me yesterday, I have to keep my wits about me today. Today is the first day all the capaill uisce will be on the beach at once. Sleipnir has been on the beach a few times, but not with this many capaill since last year’s races. He’s going to be more highly strung than normal. I must keep my wits about me. He will be like a different beast today. That’s the mistake people make on the beach that gets them killed. They think they know a capall, but when it’s that close to the sea with so many of its kind around it, they change. I will not make that mistake today. Someone will die, but I’ll make sure it won’t be me.
I have Sleipnir groomed and tacked up, ready to take to the beach. He’s adorned with iron bells in his mane, tail, and feathers, laced in with his signature green ribbons. He looks handsome, but he’s skittish on the end of his rope, dancing and singing. He is not wearing his saddle. I don’t trust him enough to ride him today. No, today we will go down to the beach to get back into the feel of Scorpio again. It’s not just him I don’t trust today. I’ve seen a man be ripped clean out of his saddle at beach training by another capall. He had been afraid of his own, but he forgot about all the others that would be there. The last we saw of him, a group of capaill had surrounded him, bleeding red into the cold surf.
Sebastian and Rea are with me, bringing Dor and Jetta with them. Like Sleipnir, Dor and Jetta wear the iron bells and ribbons. Dor in blue, Jetta in deep red. Neither have a saddle on. It’s the way we were taught. The three of us seem to be the only ones with any sense on this island by not riding our capaill on the first day of beach training.
So we all walk the way to the beach. It’s not far, just ten minutes walk. Then again, nothing is very far on Thisby. As we presumed, the beach is swarming with capaill. We can see the mess of the beach. Hundreds of half moon crescents in the sand where the capaill have stood, the waves of the sea are being kicked up by man and beast alike, but the most chilling of all are the red smears of gore which have already begun to stain the sand crimson.
We can see at the other end of the beach a fight between two capaill has broken out, so I make a mental note to avoid that area. Walking to the beach, we stand there, trying to get used to the beach again. I kind of love it, but it terrifies me. I’ll just think that Sleipnir is settling down, when a capall somewhere down the beach will scream and set him off again. He doesn’t cease his dancing as the capall screams again and he keens back. It’s an unearthly sound, the song of the capaill, and it chills me to the bone. Every time Sleipnir is set off, it irritates Jetta, who every time he makes a sound, she pins her ears and snakes her head at him, teeth bared. They’re far enough apart that as long as Rea and I keep our wits, we should be fine. In theory anyway. Dor likes the excitement of the beach, his tail is straight in the air, his head is high and his ears pricked. Unlike Sleipnir though, he is stood stock still, his nostrils flaring as he takes in the scents. Occasionally his head snaps around and he opens his mouth with his teeth on show when he hears or sees something new, but his feet do not budge until Sebastian tugs on his bridle.
Slowly, we manage to dodge capaill, salesmen, and running riders to edge closer to the water. There are less people closer to the water, as they are afraid of letting their capaill to close to it, lest they get dragged in, but we’ve been riding on the cliffs for a while now, the main reason we’re on the beach to start with is to help our mounts get used to the beach and the water. People are so afraid of the sea, but they forget to train their capaill to become more accustomed to being near it without going mad. That’s our strategy anyway. So we get to within feet of the waves, the salty wind lifting and knotting our hair. The capaill have their ears pricked toward the ocean, and far off in the distance I think I see something breach the surface. I look to my left and it seems Sebastian has seen it too. A look to my right at Rea confirms it. I look back to the spot among the waves to see if it emerges again. It does. The granite coloured head and neck of a wild capall uisce can be seen above the water for just a second until it disappears to the depths again. Granted none of them are ever completely tame, but this is a capall completely untouched by people. Dangerous and deadly.
None of us have spoken since getting to the beach. There’s hardly any point, it’s so loud we’d have a  hard time hearing each other. However our capaill are getting even more restless than they were before and we’ve been here maybe an hour or so, just creeping to the shoreline, so the three of us all look at each other and unanimously make the decision to call it a day. If we stay any longer, especially on the first day, we could put ourselves in serious danger. We walk back up the beach at an excruciatingly slow pace, and just before we leave the beach, we have to walk past a shape hidden under a white sheet. There are two things the sheet can’t cover though, the sheer amount of blood and gore seeping through it and on the ground around it, and the fact that the shape under the sheet is humanoid, but misshapen with joints at odd angles, pieces missing, and a chest cavity with a horrifying hole in it just too big for the sheet to mask. It was bound to happen, everyone knew it, someone was always going to die today, but even still, we are never ready for it. Sebastian is walking first and asks an official standing next to the body,
“Who was it?”
The official hesitates a little before replying,
“I suppose you have the right to know, Mr. Westfall. It was Old Farmer Jon Benet’s boy, Thomas.”
“Thank you, sir. Our condolences to the family.” My brother hides his emotions well, but I can tell he is distraught. Thomas had been one of his close friends for years. I put my hand over my mouth in shock.
“I’m sorry, lad. I know you were close.”
Sebastian ducks his head now when he walks away with Dor, stooped and withdrawn. I can’t look at the sheet any longer. I dip my eyes to look at Sleipnir’s hooves as we follow Sebastian. We all walk home in silence. Rea splits off to go to her home with a quick goodbye. Once she’s gone, we continue to walk in silence. At home Sebastian turns to me,
“I’m sorry Tess, I need to go in. Please put Dor away for me? I just need... I just need to...”
“Yes, I understand. Pass him here and you go in.”
“Thanks Tessie.” He passes me Dor’s reins and strides into the house. I put away both capaill in their stables and gave them their feeds. I put Dor’s tack away on its peg, then take Sleipnir’s back to the house once I’m done and everything’s away. Walking in through the kitchen I see my brother hunched over in a seat at the kitchen table. He looks up as I come in. His eyes are bloodshot, cheeks flushed, and eyes streaming. I’ve never seen my brother in such a state and I can’t bear to see him like this. He sniffs and when he speaks his voice is cracked and raw.
“I’m sorry, Tess. It’s just that he was one of my best friends, you know? I just can’t get my head around the fact that I will never see him again.”
“Don’t be sorry, Sebs. You have a right to feel how you do. I feel crap too, and I didn’t hang out with him all that much so I can only imagine what it must be like for you.” I toss the bridle in my hand onto a chair and sit on the one next to it, opposite my brother.
“What can I do to help?” I ask him.
“I don’t know. I don’t think there is anything you can do.” He replies.
“How about a mug of hot chocolate? That’s a start at least.”
“Thank you, that’d be nice... Did I ever tell you I have the best sister in the world?”
I smile and stand up to make the hot drink for him. It’s the least I can do to help him grieve. Once it’s made he accepts it gratefully and I give him a hug before settling back in my chair opposite him. We sit there in the pale kitchen light in relative quiet with out drinks for a while until Sebs declares that he needs a little time alone. I gladly let him go to his room and I wash up before going upstairs too, taking Sleipnir’s bridle with me and hanging it on its hook on the wall.

Day 4 |Future/Later:
Heaven is a place on Earth with you
Somehow saying it out loud doesn't make it seem as impressive as it actually is but Robert's going to keep banging on about it until the cows come home honestly.
He'll never tire of thinking about the fact that he's been married to Aaron for five whole years.
It's an anniversary they deserve, whatever that actually means. He feels like it's true deep down, like what he's saying actually makes sense because Aaron and him have lasted.
They keep lasting and it's not to do with how well they are at certain things, or anything like that. It's more to do with the unwavering facts about things they cannot ever change.
Robert knows, with an absolutely unshakable certainty, that he loves Aaron. And Aaron loves him too.
They love each other, and that has stood the test of time it seems.
Robert's smug about it as he looks over at Aaron and sees him blinking quickly against the light of the sun streaming in through the window.
He's got a frown on his face and Robert drags a hand over Aaron's cheek just to feel him.
"Morning." Robert whispers, slivers his body closer to a more than willing to be held, Aaron.
Aaron's body is almost like jelly in his own and he marvels in the ease in which he gets to hold Aaron nowadays.
He's thinking back to when they were secret and Robert couldn't hold Aaron too tight because it would mean too much.
Or when Aaron was sad and everything was heavy, and holding Aaron the way he wanted to would only cause him to recoil in a terrifying need for escapism.
Now though, Aaron wriggles closer and Robert kisses his head.
"Few more minutes." Aaron's asking, nothing but the need to stay like this on his mind and Robert laughs a little against his plea.
"Just 'cause it's our anniversary doesn't mean we get to stay in bed all day."
And Aaron makes a small sound, body wriggling. "Anniversary?" He teases, just wants to hear a reminder and Robert smiles against it. "And which one would that be exactly?"
Robert rolls his eyes, and suddenly he's pinning Aaron down, rolling him right out on his back and Aaron's in a soft sort of heaven.
"The one where we got to the signing the paper bit." Robert whispers, hands still holding Aaron down and hair floppy against his forehead.
He looks about twenty five again and Aaron loves him.
Aaron shuts his eyes, and for a second he's standing there and Robert is saying all these things that are making him blubber and the sun is shining down on them.
"Oh yeah." He whispers gently, able to wriggle a hand out and hold Robert's face. "I was younger then." He reflects, softness about him suddenly.
And Robert smirks, "We both were." He reasons, pokes out at Aaron. "Oi, at least you're not battling grey hairs." He says.
And Aaron only rolls his eyes because he's heard this about a million times since last week.
When Robert had been staring at himself in the mirror for so long it almost felt like he was looking for one.
And he'd found it, the one.
"One grey hair doesn't mean anything." Aaron strokes at Robert's arm, keeps stroking and Robert is too in his own head to listen to his husband and what he has to say.
"You still fancy me?" Robert asks then, cock an eyebrow and yes he will do this, he will make Aaron give him a compliment.
Aaron bites down on his lip a few times and then he's rolling his eyes. "Suppose." He whispers, and it's enough for Robert.
He dives his head down and steals a kiss before the door is being flung open and Jacob is running towards them.
His little legs are faster than they look and Aaron only has time to pull the covers over him and Robert before he's bouncing on the bed.
Robert tells him to calm down but it's always pointless. Jacob is three years old and has trouble accepting exactly what 'No' means. He's also almost too kind for his own good, protective and yet nearly as cheeky as Aaron was at his age.
Chas always says so, she's quick to point out that Jacob is going to grow up to be this brilliant boy.
Diane also bangs on about the fact that he's going to break a fair few hearts, and that's Robert all over.
But they're biased so.
"Ahh." Aaron groans against the feel of Jacob over his face and for a second Robert just stares at him with absolute adoration in his eyes.
Because Jacob's this unruly little thing but he's also got a heart nearly as big as Aaron's and he's still at that age where he likes being around them.
"Careful Jakey." Robert eases Jacob away and then suddenly there's crying from outside the door.
Aaron sits up instantly, "Annie." He says, moves to get out of the bed and Jacob's bouncing up and down just at the mention of his little sister.
What he doesn't expect to see is Seb coming through the door with Annie in his arms.
He keeps doing this, thinking he's so much older than his siblings and has this ability to just carry them about.
"Seb." Robert lunges forwards, eyes wide and filled with worry as he watches the little boy with his soft eyes and an adorably freckled face.
"Annie was crying." He says, and Robert's surprised he can actually hold Annie in his little arms, bend into her cot and get her out but he has and they've got to watch out for that from now on.
"I know buddy." Robert takes Annie in his arms and she settles with him, she's filling out quickly, soft blonde hair coming through nicely now. He rocks her until she stops crying and Aaron feels something get caught in his throat at the sight of Robert with their little girl, shirtless and soft and -
His.
He almost gets caught up in it, and then he looks at the time and -
The school run's started.
~*~
"Book, bag, shoes."
It's sort of a mantra in the house at ten past eight.
Jacob's decided to put his jumper on backwards and runs around the living room as Seb waits by the door with his arms crossed.
Robert laughs against how impatient Seb gets because his mad little brother who is too silly to be as mischievous as he is.
They both have their kindness though.
That trickles through them both and Robert's unquestionably proud of that.
Robert puts his shoes on, drags his coat over his suit and watches Aaron do the same by the door before he's opening it and watching Jacob try to run towards the car.
"Wait for your brother!" Aaron calls out, and Seb is the moodiest little man in the world sometimes. He rolls his head back, cheekily sighs and then he's stalking towards the car with Jacob squeezing at his hand.
"See you later then?" Aaron says, goes to leave and then suddenly Robert is pulling him back and kissing him breathlessly.
"Love you." Robert whispers, stares at the way Aaron's holding Annie in her car seat and feels his heart clench.
"Love you." Aaron whispers back, eyes bright suddenly and then he's leaving and Robert waves goodbye to them as he gets into his own car and heads for work.
~*~
Robert's phone buzzes against the desk and when he looks down he sees that Aaron's asking him to come for a drink in the pub when he's finished for the day.
It's not like he was expecting anything much but a drink in their local on their wedding anniversary is almost *less than what he imagined.
He supposes that Aaron's going to make it up to him later.
He imagines the kids round their nanna's and Aaron's full attention on him, and smiles against it all the way until he's driving towards the pub and then opening the door and -
He hears enough shuffling to know something is up but he doesn't expect his entire family standing in the pub with massive smiles on their faces staring at him.
He sees Aaron instantly amongst the crowd so nothing changes there then, navy suit on and everything. He's got Annie in his arms and Seb's hanging by his side and -
He *can hear Jacob making helicopter noises but can't spot him amongst the crowd.
"What's all -"
Only Seb jumps forward. "Daddy made a surprise for you." He's saying proudly, showing teeth, looking absolutely grateful that he's allowed to say it after days of keeping quiet.
Robert's eyes flicker, something warm spreads across him and he smiles. "Did he?" He says, hugs at his little boy and then suddenly sees Victoria smiling at him from the bar.
She's always smiling nowadays, sitting on the right side of the bar knowing full well that her business is booming.
He feels something get caught up in his this throat and then Aaron comes forward a little.
"You look surprised Mr Dingle?" Aaron whispers, holds Annie on his side like a pro and smirks at Robert's complete shock. "You didn't think I wouldn't make a sing and dance about five years?"
And he's joking, because Robert is the over the top one but apparently Aaron can be too.
"You're amazing." Robert leans into kiss Aaron blushes under the way it feels to kiss him like this; so openly and without care.
He pulls away and Aaron's smile grows wider. "Turn around." He whispers, and when Robert does -
Liv's there.
She's actually just standing there with a backpack on and a smile on her face and he hasn't seen her for so long it hurts.
She's off travelling for the year, deciding what she wants out of life and Robert cannot get over how brave she is, how proud he is because she's dared to do everything he couldn't when he was her age.
Liv stuck two fingers up at the conventional ways she should be living her life and Robert and Aaron admire her too much to ever attempt to say.
She waves her hand out and is suddenly so red and emotional that she just dives into Robert's arms and he holds her against him.
Everyone around them lets out this round of oohs and ahhs against how soft they're being and when Robert pulls away she's still smiling.
"Since when were you back?" He's asking, holding her by the shoulders and she's already gotten taller since the last time he was this close.
Liv goes to speak and then is suddenly attacked by Seb and Jacob and even Annie starts to wave her little arms around.
She's the cool auntie.
And Vic's the one who shoves cake down their throats whenever she has the chance.
"Liv, look at my hair!" Jacob's shouting, bouncing himself and pulling at his curly locks which have grown even more since Liv left.
She's overwhelmed, that's clear to see and but she's so great with them that Robert just watches and waits for her to look up at him again.
When she does, Seb's hanging over her shoulders and Jacob's clinging to her side.
"Aaron told me he was planning something." Liv smiles, "When I got over the shock, I put myself out on the first flight out."
Robert's hands fall over her hair and he kisses her head before she's being absorbed into the crowd with the kids and Aaron's holding at Robert's hand.
"You look happy." Aaron says, a soft sense of relief racing through him as he looks at him.
Robert looks towards Chas and Paddy by the bar and Chas winks at him, gives her approval, and even Charity and Vanessa are domesticated enough to both smile at him at the same time and -
It's been five whole years and he's still this happy.
"I am." He says, squeezes Aaron's hand even tighter.
~*~
Seb knows what a wedding is, he's been to a fair few in the village by now but Jacob's literally bouncing on Robert's knee and demanding to go to theirs.
"Mate, we already had one." Robert tells him, attempts to stroke through Jacob's hair as they sit in a booth.
"Two." Liv reasons, bounces Annie a little in her arms.
"*Two?" Jacob's mouth flys open and Seb's managed to climb away and follow his Uncle Cain around.
"Yep." Aaron tells him, leans his head against Robert's and then holds his hand under the table. "You weren't even born then." He mumbles and sometimes it feels like a whole other life, and then he tests himself and thinks back to when they were an affair and that's even further away in his memory.
Jacob's unimpressed, and he's only three but apparently he demands to know when they 'fell into love'
And Robert's suddenly blaming Aaron for all this talk because he's fully away his husband lets Jacob just sit there watching Loose Women some days.
He's all romantic about things and Robert clears his throat against his question.
"When I first kissed your daddy." Aaron's saying before him, sips at the champagne in the glass and then smiles as he thinks back to that sudden feeling that flowed through him when it happened. A complete and overwhelming hopelessness.
Robert's eyes widen like he doesn't know what to say and Liv is rolling her eyes against the mush.
Jacob holds his chest and gaps, demands they kiss again and after they do, Robert turns to jelly.
"I first loved daddy fluffy, when it was Christmas Day, and he followed me outside and made me feel better."
And that is a statement, one Aaron's never ever heard before.
They don't discuss stuff like this, not ever really but now he's hearing that Robert felt feelings so strong just like Aaron did.
He's always had an inkling but -
Jacob gets bored of course, runs up to Seb and tries to impress his big brother and Liv's left holding the baby as Robert drags Aaron into the back room like they're naughty teenagers.
"Christmas Day?" Aaron's panting, hands flying towards Robert's hair and this is madness because the whole village know how domestically in love they are, with their children and their cars and their nice home, but this, the thrill of sneaking around is probably always going to be there.
It started off like this, just the two of them, secret, painfully so at times, but also so quietly theirs and sometimes all of that is welcomed again.
This is one of those times.
Robert's shy against it as he leans towards Aaron and picks off a piece of fluff on his navy suit. They're awkwardly sitting on the stairs and Aaron is so in love with Robert Sugden it feels like his heart is going to burst.
"Didn't know it myself then but, whatever I felt wasn't going to go away was it?" Robert whispers against Aaron's neck, "Not ever." He mumbles.
And it's only been five years, someone reminded them the other day.
Nicola.
Robert expected Aaron to agree but he was the first to put her in her place.
{ "Yeah and in those five years we've kept a business booming, Seb happy, had Jacob and then Annie too and managed to still love each other." Aaron's so quick off the bat that Nicola doesn't even say anything.
Robert feels everything tingle through him and he's in awe of Aaron for a few seconds before he smirks. "And a very healthy sex life. Shame the same can't be said for -"
And Robert earns a slap on the arm as Nicola walks away from them and Annie starts gurgling from her pram. }
Aaron leans in to kiss him and suddenly Charity's heels are against the floor and they break apart.
She seems impressed almost though.
"Some things never change then." She says, shakes her head and Robert smirks against it.
No, some things *never change.
~*~
It's later.
And Aaron's whisked them away to some fancy place and Robert's pretty sure that he doesn't know how to pronounce half the starters.
But marriage is all about compromise isn't it?
So Aaron will settle with embarrassing himself in front of a French waiter, knowing that Robert will do more than make it up for it later.
Robert leans his hand out across the table, and Aaron grabs ahold of it.
"Should I order for you?" Robert asks, teasing just a little but with a hint of something more in his voice.
It's this tentative protectiveness and Aaron blushes out a nod.
"Happy anniversary." Aaron says, almost knows that he will never get over the fact that he's sitting here, right across from Robert Sugden, toasting to their fifth wedding anniversary.
The thought shocks something so deep within him that his hands shake as he clinks the glass with Robert's.
"Reckon we could skip dessert if we wanted to." Robert says, watches Aaron nearly choke into his champagne flute and turn red because he's not mastered the art of reacting appropriately to Robert's flirting in public.
He just keeps his head down and Robert strokes his hand even more softly. "Could go home, have dessert there."
And Aaron gulps hard, feels Robert stroke up and down his leg and his whole body turns to jelly.
"You do have to thank me for the surprise party." Aaron whispers and yep, they still want to absolutely rip each other' clothes off.
And they do.
They hardly make it through the front door as it happens because Aaron's got a suit on and it's navy.
They're both drunk on champagne by the time they're hanging off the bed and laughing their heads off.
"Oh that was amazing." Robert groans out, knows that the second round and that position has completely done his back in but he's so numbingly content right now that he doesn't even seem to care all that much.
Aaron smirks, and he's always more with it after sex, always the one kissing Robert's back and stroking his hair.
He's laughing now, naked, sheets covering his waist and eyes warm. "Worth the wait then?" Aaron's asking, only Robert smiles.
"Of course." Robert says, and his legs suddenly become tangled in Aaron's as he pulls their hands together and smiles.
All he can see is a ring and another ring and everything is just so beautiful like this.
Robert catches his breath just a little.
"I'm the luckiest man in the world." Robert mumbles, kisses Aaron's bare shoulder and pulls the covers up over himself. "To have you. For you to be my -"
"Husband." Aaron fills in for him, eyes watering almost so suddenly that Robert frowns.
"I didn't think you'd get like this." He's surprised, in a soft almost happy way because sometimes the love he feels for Aaron is so mad, no one else can know how this feels.
Aaron ducks his head, settles himself down onto the mounds of pillows and looks at his husband. "You know when I came out to Paddy, he banged on about me meeting someone one day and - and I didn't believe a word of it. I told Vic that I would never get married because I knew it wouldn't work out for me." He says, and Robert holds his hand. "And then you were asking me to marry you. *Me."
Some things are just the hardest to get your head around, despite how much time passes.
Robert decorating their old barn and planning on getting down on one knee and proposing to him in the same place he countlessly denied whatever they felt for each other years ago, is one of those things.
Robert smiles faintly and hugs Aaron tighter. "You." He emphasis, "No one else I'd rather spend the rest of my life with." He promises and Aaron's so heavy under it all.
"I still love you as much as I did then you know?" Robert tells him, smiles as he looks at the picture on the side of his cabinet.
Aaron's got his arm around him, and Liv is holding Seb and they're all smiling like mad.
Aaron doesn't say anything for a second and then he smiles. "Think I love you more." He says, in the most unromantic, matter of fact way ever and Robert is used to Aaron being so certain in his life like this.
It's so crushingly endearing that he almost cries.
"That hasn't changed has it?" Robert says. "I thought it would, with Seb, and then Jacob, and then Annie." He can't quite believe how much has changed. "But loving you, being proud of what we have, hasn't changed at all."
And he supposes it never will.
Aaron's got a smile on his face as he blushes against Robert's words and wraps his arms around his husband.
"Never will." He mumbles out, hand flat against Robert's chest. "It's been five whole years Rob." Aaron smiles, and then he's laughing. "Twenty fifth of July. We went and got -"
"Married in our garden." Robert's laughing suddenly, and Aaron's not going to let him try and downplay how epic the day was.
How perfect everything felt.
"Five years later, Seb's this brilliant little boy." Aaron mumbles, "Jacob's here, being as loud and cheeky as we expected him to be, and we have a little girl too." He can't quite believe it, his voice seems to waver and Robert catches a tear.
"And we got through everything didn't we?"
And there was a lot to get through.
And things were hard, are hard, because Liv's not allowed to drink anymore, for her own good and that's terrifyingly sad but she's also living such an amazing life and they're so proud of her.
And surrogacy is a bitch, constantly disappoints and makes things so *hard.
But they got their wish, twice over.
"I wouldn't have changed a thing." Robert combs Aaron's hair as the younger man speaks to him. "These five years have been the best years of my whole life." And he's a sap suddenly, a sexy beefy sap of a man.
"Not anything?" Robert asks, and he can think of a few.
Namely the shouting and the screaming and the passionate fights about these deep unwavering facts that are sometimes hard to bare.
He thinks of the fact that none of it was easy, the complicated practical parts and not the raw emotional bits.
Anyone could see they loved each other.
Aaron closes his eyes and thinks of the fights, and then how they managed to help them in so many ways.
"No." He says confidently, buries his head in Robert's chest and smiles. "Not a thing you idiot. It's - it's all been worth this." He tells him. "You and me and - and our kids only a few rooms away from us."
Robert nods against his words. "It's mad, that we're like this - so happy? Everything used to be so - unhappy. Do you remember?"
And Aaron does.
He's just moved so far on from all of that.
"Yeah. But I also remember our wedding day." Aaron's eyes flicker. "Both of 'em."
And not many people can actually say that can they?
"Never thought that - that you'd want me like this, want a family with your bit on the side." Aaron knows he's drunk, knows he's spilling things out that he wouldn't usually.
Robert frowns against how terrible that sounds and how much of an absolute idiot he was back then. "You're the love of my life." He shrugs, and maybe he's drunk too. "Nothing else really matters does it?" He mumbles.
Aaron seems enamoured by the thought and slowly works his body closer towards Robert. Moving his hips back and forth his body in this lazy attempt at being sexy and then he's laughing a little.
Robert catches Aaron's face in his hands and smiles. "I got to make you *this happy." He's completely blown away by how much that means to him and Aaron kisses Robert's hand slowly.
"For the rest of our lives." Aaron mumbles. "Just you."
And the thought would have scared the living daylights out of Robert ten years ago.
He would have never dreamt of being with someone forever and that being enough.
But Aaron is more than enough, he's home, he's like this intangible piece of thread able to hold him up against anything.
"Just you." He mumbles back, kisses Aaron with a little more heat this time and it's not like he has it in him to go again but just laying naked on their bed kissing works just fine for him.
That is until Aaron leans too far back and they're both falling off the bed.
Robert lands on his elbow and Aaron promises to massage it, through a fit of laughter.
"Let me see if we have any oils or -" Aaron's talking shit as he tries to fumble through the draws and then he's pulling out an envelope and Robert's face drops.
"You shouldn't have looked in there." Robert tells him, too drunk to react quick enough and Aaron's eyes widen as he looks all close up to the words.
"Confirmation tickets to -"
"Barcelona."
And it's this ridiculous call back to the fact that almost every year they plan on going, just the two of them, for a few days, away from everything.
And it always never works out.
Aaron pounces on Robert, kisses sweet and filled with this oozing love and when he's finished, he collapses onto Robert and kisses at his chest.
Aaron's the most affectionate sort of drunk in the world and Robert watches him marvel at the freckles on his body.
"I love you so much."
And the way Aaron says it is filled with so much else that Robert's eyes nearly fill with tears.
"I love you too." Robert kisses his head and Aaron looks up at him.
"Not just love, I mean - I'm still just in love with you Robert." Aaron's eyes are warm suddenly. "So in love and I don't tell you enough."
Robert doesn't believe that for a second, they tell each other every day. He tries telling Aaron that but he shakes his head.
"I don't say - say that I still am so - so in love with you." Aaron mumbles. "Or that - that you're so fit still."
Robert looks away at that and Aaron holds his face. "You're fucking beautiful."
And that's the one thing Aaron hates about the time passing.
Robert's somehow lost a little confidence in his looks and Aaron knows it's his job to remind him of how amazing he is.
As often as he can.
"So are you." Robert kisses him, feels like he could just fall asleep like this and they're both drunk and sticky and the room is a mess but -
Robert grabs Aaron's hand and puts it in his own and something so magically fits.
"Happy anniversary." Robert whispers and Aaron says it back.
"To the next - next five - no, no - fifty years." Aaron raises an empty glass he finds laying precariously against the bed side drawers.
He clinks it with Robert's invisible one and falls back down onto Robert's chest.
The soft beat of Robert's content heart is enough to drag him into a soft sleep.
They both dream of this day, fifty years from now.
They're still holding each other's hands under tables and ending the night like this.

Musical Kuroshitsuji: Tango on the Campania 2018.01.01
My take on the Musical Kuroshitsuji: Tango on the Campania (2018.01.01). TL;DR. Warning: Still an incomprehensible thought vomit. Filled with feelings and personal opinions. MESSY.
Tumblr media
Thoughts on mostly on Sebastian and Ciel, with bits of others. My thoughts; not necessarily yours.
RANDOM points. Not in particular order.
------------
The musics improved a lot from the previous year, the chorus was just beautiful. "Campania🎵 Campaniaaa🎶" the tunes are definitely much more catchy this time. I like the Midford's song, "We are Midofodo!"
I personally think they managed to sync the theatrical melodies with Lizzie's more idol-like tunes very well. For instance, in the middle of the Midford's song Lizzie saying "It's not cute at all!" -- It was very catchy!
.
Like the Circus myu, AbberHan opened the play. But I felt that Abahan didn't appear as much in Campania. Mostly only in the beginning. There wasn't really a slot to insert their 'type' of comedy, as a lot of the scenes are suspenful or full of bizarre dolls.
Oh, Ronald and Abberhan interaction was great! XD They tried to pick up girls together. Ago did it by asking the girl to marry him lmao. Instead of to a girl like in the manga, Ronald said the line "OK! If we meet again alive, that is." to AbberHan.
.
It felt somewhat lonely without the Phantomhive shionin :( I missed the three lively idiots!
.
Yuta's Seb seemed to enjoy doing the phoenix pose. His pose during Seb and Ciel first did the PHOENIX was hilarious. Maybe it's just Yuta suddenly that moved a bit from the still position and probably not intentional , but at that time, we laughed at the theater. X'DDD
.
Sasaki Yoshihide's entrance was damn hilarious. 😂😂😂 even if it's just the "PHOENIX" melody that signaled his debut entrance, he sung it in such a way, I cannot contain my laughter. XDD
Also, we got to clap our hands during Druitt's second song (where he would become the Emperor lololol), it was so fun. X'DDD
.
One of my favorite parts is the "Otou-san" joke.
Ciel blurted out that he accompanied his dad (otou-san) to the ship. Hearing that, Yuta's Seb was like 'wtf' and showed a disapproving face, he questioned, "Otou-san?!" (lololol). Later, Hide/Viscount even echoed what Ciel called Sebastian and called Yuta "Otou-san" (it was emphasized) lolololololololol this needs to be watched for the charm to be understood X'DD
.
The first bizarre doll, Margaret Connor, played by the ensemble, was AMAZING. The whole electricity process, the movements/choreography during the time the bizarre doll was in revived in the coffin was very creepy and good. I love the music during this time too.
.
Lizzie's actress, Okazaki Momoko, is GREAT. She is far from the annoying image Lizzie has up until now. I like her voice, and her singing is SO good. Her solo was very heartwarming and done beautifully. She was genuinely cute, not the forced-cutesy type of '''kawaii'''.
.
Takkun's Grell appeared in such a grand manner. It was pretty amazing looking at the blue ocean projection, as it slowly reveal Grell RIGHT on the center. Then, cue Grell's debut song. It's an entrance you cannot miss.
Also, the first titanic pose done by Grell and Ronald totally had the titanic tune sung by Grell. X'D
.
Reo. Reo Bocchan. Just perfect. Finally they give him more lines in singing. I'm happy to hear him sing more. His singing has improved so much! He holds a special place in me.
.
I was surprised that they made a short Sebastian's song during the time Seb slashed the zombies, and Ciel rooted on the spot, stunned, recalling the past. Reo's Ciel trembling voice, uttering "Splattering crimson, a dancing demon. It was just like that day" opened demon Sebastian's solo.
Reo's trembling voice, full of tremor saying that line, opening the song, was amazing. This young lad never ceased to impress me.
.
Part 2 is basically just Sebastian and Ciel. SO.MUCH.OF.THEM. Probably 70-80% of it was just Seb and Ciel basically. The flashback, and then the boat scene.
.
THEY EVEN DID THE SCENE WHERE SEB AND CIEL WERE SEPARATED ON THE AIR. IN. SLOW. MOTION. they have the ensembles carry Reo and Yuta respectively. They paused at the infamous scene of Ciel and Sebastian reaching out for each other, in which it ended with Ciel's scream of "Sebastian!"
I love how Yuta portrayed the early days of Sebastian's servitude. He was so RUDE. XDDD Even his voice and manner of speaking are quite a stark difference from the Yuta's Sebastian we've seen so far. He let his displeasure clearly shown. It's a delight watching this difference that can be very subtle at times.
Not to mention, I just love how Seb said "クソガキ / kuso gaki" XDDD
.
Did I mention Reo as Bocchan is just fucking amazing? His voice during the notable scene, where Ciel asked "Sebastian... stay here. Until I fall asleep." Even when it's just his voice that can be clearly observed from the audience place, even when it's only his voice; it's conveys so much already. It was heartbreaking. Reo managed to put so much emotions into his voice; terror, fear, then vulnerabilities. Everything is there and portrayed so wonderfully. He's just so amazing.
.
There are subtle touches from Sebastian to Ciel here and there THROUGHOUT the play. This is especially evident also when the scene focus is not them. It's such a pleasure noticing these little things.
.
In my opinion, the directing this time truly showed how protective Sebastian had grown towards Ciel. More than the previous installments. And it is done very well.
Just how much of these details are included and shown very well represented just how well the Musical production understand very well Sebastian and Ciel's relationship as the fundamental of what is Kuroshitsuji.
.
They employed quite a vibrant projected screen during the flashback (the previous musicals only had monochrome colors on the projected screen)--of Ciel dancing on his dance lessons and Sebastian learning to be a butler. The coordination is flawless. (I'm describing this part terribly, please see for yourself on the dvd or the liveviewing when they come out).
.
I just LOVE the second/final titanic pose Grell and Ronald did! it was HILARIOUS. I think it was a perfect bonus/wrap up. XD
.
Hide did the special speech at the end. Hide said "Everyone, I'm home!" To which we replied "Okaeri!"
I love Yuta's preceeding speech too! He's grown so much and can be much more at ease now compared to way back on 2015 Lycoris. He said that even in the occassion of new year (in Japan, many shops, restaurants, etc are closed/closes super early at this date, it's spent with families), a lot of people are still coming to see the musical. Yuta said it was some sort of miracle. He slipped a bit on his speech but it was very cute! Yuta said that his chest was beating fast/he was just so excited. XD
Then, they congratulated Harashima, we sang a happy birthday together!
---
There are still SO MUCH I want to write. So, so much. But this is the best I can do for now.
It was a yet another amazing show I'm thankful I could get to watch live.

David Duchovny’s HOHW Seattle Concert Review (Fourth in a series)
David Duchovny's HOHW Seattle Concert Review (Fourth in a series)
I attended David Duchovny's book discussion and concert in Seattle and have written a series of blogs about the events.  This blog is strictly about the concert experience with some opinions in general about his music.
David opened with the high energy "3000."  Truthfully it was hard to concentrate at first on the music.  Even though I had met and interacted with the man earlier (see other blogs for more information), the first few minutes of the concert I was overwhelmed with the knowledge of how close I was to this man in what was clearly going to be a physical performance.  He was sweating immediately and I noticed a sweat bead fall from his forehead to the ground.  I noticed the way his arms flexed and the soft brown hair on the arms.  I have been in the front row for many of my favorite song writers / performers, but David is the only musician/ song writer with whom  I am, also, so attracted to his physical appearance.  So at first I simply had to allow myself the pleasure of watching him.
By the end of "3000" I could begin to enjoy his voice and his awesome band.  I am especially fond of Pat McCusker (guitarist) and Sebastian Modak (drummer) and will refer to them as Pat and Seb going forward.  HOHW is a break up album.  "3000" is a song David wrote about the distance "so short, so far" from his children when he lived across Central Park from them. "3000" is a song that can transcend love to anytime people are seperated more from differences than distances.  Did I just describe America?  "If we survive this civil war, we will discover what's worth fighting for."
David proceeded with a slower second song which is one of the most beloved off the album "Let It Rain."  People who know me know that during concerts I will often close my eyes and let myself be completely absorb into the sound; lost to the moment.  I wondered if I would do that with David given how much I enjoy the sensation of looking at the man.  Sure enough I quickly found myself grooving and about to close my eyes when something happened that changed that moment for me and for the rest of the concert I never thought about closing my eyes to focus completely on the music.  A young woman who I had been conversing with earlier asked me if  I would trade my front row place for her for her favorite song.  I have been a deadhead and have seen a crowd split like the red sea when a woman with a week old baby said "I want to be able to tell her she was in the front row for this song during her first concert experience."  Part of the allure for me of the "Duchovniac" experience is a similar feeling of community among David's fans.  Of course, I was going to let this young woman, who was trying to decide what lyrics to get tattooed on her body, into the front row for her favorite song.  She then proceeded to take off her bra, threw it on stage and stood for an extended period of time with her breasts exposed.  While I was annoyed in the moment, David had said that the reason he enjoys touring is the unique experience between artist and audience that is specific to the place and time.  This event so early in the concert experience clearly relayed the mood of the crowd.  We were 500 packed in like sardines who were all in for the experience- all there for love of the man- and willing to bare it all for tonight.
David introduced "Stay on the Train".  David had said he does not write political music and then said that he could see how these lyrics could be about politics of today.  Later I will write about a song I believe has more overtly political lyrics.  I find "Stay on the Train" a hard song to hear.  David has said his music is his most true expression of himself, that he likes trying to make his own experiences more universal and that this song was written for his daughter.  I believe David's music "bleeds" his pain.  The line "wave daddy goodbye" just is too much for me.  It makes me want to wrap my arms around both father and daughter.  I am curioius about the imagery which is used both in this song and in his novel, "Bucking Fucking Dent" with Ted saying he often thought about walking off the train and finding another family.  Marty thanks him for staying in one of the more moving scenes in the book.
David then sang two new songs: "Roman Coin" and "Stranger in the Sacred Heart".  My criticism of the concert is that the band sometimes drowned out David's voice and, unfortunately, they did so in these songs whose lyrics  were unfamiliar.  For me this was the part of the concert which somewhat failed.  The same thing was true about the song: "Rain Song" but since everyone knew the lyrics it was still an enjoyable part of the concert.  These were the only three songs in which this occurred.
My friend, Cathy, and I in discussing the album prior to the concert had agreed that "Passenger" is our least favorite song.  If you judge an album by its worst song, then the album is a masterpiece because the song is beautiful.  For me it is a fine stand alone song, but it incongruous on the album.  It seems to be about a different lost love.  The pain is not as strong and at times the song is celebratory of always carrying a lost love with you.  Someone yelled out "Gillian."  I am almost always annoyed when in the moments of David's music people can only think of X-Files, but I had told Cathy earlier that I like "Passenger" more when I think of it as a Mulder singing it about Scully song.  Then the line "I stand witness to a crazy costume ball.  Lonely witness to the beauty of it all" resonates more completely.  Of course, there is also a lot of imagery in Californication of Hank looking over at the passenger seat of the car and "seeing" Karen or Becca.  The song was truly beautiful live and while I would trade it in a moment for one of the tours later renditions (three nights in a damn row) of a song I had asked about in the QA "Lately Its Always December", I have a new fondness for "Passenger" having heard it live.
David coughed a little through "Things".  While his voice struggles, his dance movements, grinding pelvis, was beautiful. He said at one point during the song when he was struggling "I will get there" and he did, but I loved the audience response.  I am a firm believer that when you go to see a band or an artist you love and they struggle with a song, you love them through it.  If you choose not to, you deserve whatever type of bad performance you get for the remainder of the show.  An artist who has been "loved" through a bad performance of a song is going to deliver the rest of t"he night and I actually consider this song a turn-around song in terms of taking the next few songs to a transcendant level.
"Unsaid, Unsung" is my favorite song off the album.  It is the angry song and there is plenty of anger to go around. Yes, anger at the woman he is leaving behind.  Anger certainly at himself; his demons and his monsters.  Anger at years of therapy which had in some respect did more harm than good.  "Killing off forests to save the trees."  I love it because it stands in perfect counterpoint to the title track of the album.  The title track speaks of "I will stand here forever, I will outwait your disdain, I said I love you forever, Come Hell or Hell Water."  It is a beautiful romantic notion which is not sustainable or healthy over time.  "I'll just eat my words and move on." might not be as beautifully romantic, but for those of us who have been through a divorce where you were not the person who wanted the divorce, it is the sentiment you must arrive to at some point to survive.
The version of "Unsaid, Unsung" in Seattle was of a different energy and different level than any I have seen before.  Luckily there is a part of it  "phoned" and I have compared it with the later version in the tour; including the version at Stone Pony which some has argued was David's best over-all performance of the tour.  I am not sure why the version in Seattle was so different, but the audience response was strong and immediate.  For some reason David ended this version with singing/ yelling the line "I said I'm done" and then he was done.  He was bending down inches from my face when he yelled/ sung this line.  He then made his face and eyes go eerily cold.  He made intentional and deliberate eye contact with several women in back of us while the music continued.  I am very short and remember his body looming over me.  I looked up at his face begging with my head movements to get some of the eye contact he was so willingly granting women in back of me.  He bent down to Cathy and I then.  He made eye contact with us.  He put his hands in front of his face as if walling himself off- putting up a barrier to keep emotion or love from reentering his heart and then backed away while maintaining eye contact.  I have scoured videos of this song since then to see this move.  I cannot find it.  I am glad Cathy experienced it too or I would think I had imagined it.  The single best concert moment I have had in forty years of attending concerts and the fact that it is not a "routine" move for him is someting I hold dear.  I believe that 500 people that night believed they had a moment with David.  He reached several times over my head to touch hands with women in back of me, engaged in conversations with people in the back, stretched his body against the wall to touch the hands of people on the upper levels, did heart symbols to those people.  He is a master at this.  My "moment" was the moment in "Unsaid, Unsung".  I am haunted by it in the most pleasant of ways.
When I saw the bongos on stage I knew we were going to get a "When the time comes" and while David sang this song with emotion and feeling I was going to watch Seb for this song.  I had promised myself I would not let my overwhelming physical attraction to David keep me from focusing some attention on his terrific band.  The live version of this song is better than the album version.  This is largely due to the percussion piece.  Seb did not disappoint.  Because of my focus on him I was able to see a moment when he was done with a bongo piece where he looked specifically pleased with himself and he deserved to be.  He looked up and we made eye contact.  I hope he knows how appreciative I was.  I had intentionally, by the way, selected a point a little off center so I could see Pat wail on that guitar through-out the night.  We were fortunate that he stepped directly in front of us several times a night to play.  When I clapped I tried to clap around, to show the appreciation.  David is not a natural singer.  He is not a great musician.  He is a great lyricist and song writer.  His musical expression is only possible because of the great band in back of him.  We are a fanatic bunch of David fans- those of us who love his music.  I hope the band knows we love them for their part in his expression.
"Half-Life" is currently my favorite song on the yet to be released second album.  It is a song about what happens when you lived half of your life with a spouse, a soulmate, a true love and then you seperate.  I love the line "I am closer to you, then who I used to be."  That line does exactly what poetry is supposed to- it expresses emotions and sentiments beyond the actual words.  It says - I have loved you as much as I love myself, I don't know who I am without you, you have changed me for ever and I can never go back to who I was.  But unconditional love dies and fossilizes.  "I was lost..."  I had the fortune to hear it once during sound check and the second time during the concert. So amazingly beautiful.
"Every Third Thought" is another beautiful song about lost love.  It is a refrain taken from Shakespeare, but instead of being about death it is about love in David Duchovny's universe.
I have a love/ hate relationship with "Positively Madison Avenue."  I am a Dylan fanatic and this is a song which laments Dylan doing a car commercial.  It was the first Duchovny song I heard.  When I first heard it I was like "Fuck you, Duchovny".  The man deserves to make some money.  Then I heard an interview where David said "I'm not trying to be one of the Dylan goes electric folks." I heard the rest of the album and realized that David is a true Dylan fan as I am myself.  There are multiple Dylan references through out the album.  In this song Dylan is an image for the world turned commerical.  It is not an attack on Dylan.  What I love about this song is the Dylan worthy social commentary lyrics.
LAWYERS, CRITICS, BLOGGERS, VULTURES, PICK THEIR PERCENTAGE OFF THE CARCASS OF THE CULTURE IN ROME WE FIDDLE, AS CORPORATIONS PULL OUT TO OTHER NATIONS, GIVE MOTHER EARTH A FACIAL ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL (MORE OR LESS)             FREE TO NEGOTIATE A SEQUEL (GOD BLESS)
David says he doesn't want to write politicial songs and I want the man to write what ever he is inspired to write, but I am convinced that he could write some lyrics we need right now if he wanted to.  I hold my breathe in contemplation of such a thing, but much as I love whatever Dylan wants to do (two albums of Sinatra covers, really?), I will love David's non-political music.  (Thank God we still have Neil Young)
What I hate about "Positively Madison Avenue" is that David disses Mulder in it.  "Chasing Spooks on Fox I made my bones."  Don't compare David's greatest acting accomplishment to Dylan's car commercial.  Compare Mulder to "Blood on the Tracks" or "Blonde on Blonde".  This blog is already too long for me to digress on why portraying the character of Mulder must have been so difficult or why I think it is David's greatest work (and I can wax poetic about a lot of David's acting), but it pains me to think David might not appreciate the accomplishment as much as he should.  Besides, David has plenty of pure commercial endeavors- why not talk about the Saks Fifth Avenue catalog or the London Fog Campaign.  So i prefer a rewrite "Save me a place on the boat, Double D is selling coats."
In any case, the rendition of this song I love more than hate was phenomenal and David was once again by me and bending down when he sang "a beleagured Pete Seger got to hitch his way to heaven."  I heard in a later QA during the tour David had an extended conversation with a fan about this song and marketing in artistic endeavors.  I wish I had heard that.  (sigh)
Then he was gone for a moment.  He came back for the encore "Hell or HighWater" which I had trouble concentrating on.  The show seemed over so quickly and I wanted to simply watch him for a minute while I could.  I saw the pink pussy hat in his pocket.  I knew "The Weight" was on the encore list and while I know it was the title track he was singing, I just could not be as in the moment as I might have wanted in terms of the music.  I took the moment to completely lose myself in his multiple physical attributes.
"The Weight" was a show highlight.  First of all- its "The Weight."  Arguably one of the top ten rock and roll songs ever written.  Secondly, David talks about the kind of love within the song and then puts on, with his band, the pink pussy hats.  Third, David had told a story about baby sitting Keaton Simons, the opening act, and Keaton came on stage to sing with him.  During the song when center stage the love between them is a think of exceptional beauty.  In fact, this song could very easily be the "loving the band" song.  David is well aware that no one is going to look at anyone but him when he is on stage.  So in this song, he goes to each band member while they sing and "loves them."  He grinds his pelvis into Pat - don't know how Pat feels about it, but women have told me they have imagined being Pat at this moment, so...yeah, there's that.  He lays his head on band members shoulders.  He dances, skips, makes goofy movement.  There is nothing remotely rock star or cool about this performance.  Yet the love floats around the stage, jumps off to the audience, back on stage and it all flows from the artist himself who has inspired so many that night already, David Duchovny.
"Sweet Jane" is the "loving the audience" song.  He jumps off to dance with  the audience.  I can feel the air displacement around me as women rush to be able to dance with him.  I do not move.  Having heard so much now about the experience of individual pictures and hugs at other VIP experiences and from women who were part of the audience dances with him, I regret slightly not feeling his back muscles or his biceps.  Ok I regret it a lot.  I want a Duchovny hug, but watching this dance was so enjoyable.  After decades of excessive fandom, he is an expert at keeping the most private of his body parts protected, but his ass is stuck out, the arms and back are fair game.  I have a picture framed in my head of his butt stuck out in a particular way, his hands by his face, his eyes closed, mid-wiggle down with women all reaching in with one hand to touch him in mid -wiggle down, and this delightful and beautiful look of joy on his face.  Such an adorable puppy.  I hope he never gets his audience sizes too big, he never gets afraid to jump in the audience, he is never injured, he always has and can give his fans this contact.  Maybe someday I will get a hug.
It is a couple of weeks as I write this since the concert.  Life has been kind of tough in the last two weeks.  I thought I would write this quicker, but real life took precedence. (I have one more blog in this series yet to write).  I can safely say though that with all the stark realism of my daily life, the escapism of this week-end in Seattle sustains me. (along with the love of a great friend).  Life is strange and currently I feel like one of life's losers, but, you've got to love the losers.  God Bless David Fucking Duchovny!

Graps and Claps does Guest Blogs Part 3 - True Grit Wrestling
Hello everyone!  Ben Corrigan here, feeling very honoured to have been invited back to present another guest edition of #GrapsAndClaps.   My last stint as a GUEST GRAP CLAPPER was a few weeks ago when I told you about my trip to 3CW; you can read all about that one (as well as a bit of background on myself) here: https://grapsandclaps.tumblr.com/post/165973966028/graps-and-claps-does-guest-blogs-the-755-show. This return edition will focus on my recent visit to True Grit Wrestling, held at Fibber’s in York last Saturday (21 October 2017).  This was my 59th live wrestling show of 2017, with the big 6-0 coming the following night in Leeds at TIDAL Wrestling (which I’m sure your regular #GrapsAndClaps host Andy will be along to tell you all about shortly).   This one wasn’t really an “away day” for me: it was the local-est of local graps, taking place a mere 10 minute walk from my front door.  Thanks to Storm Brian, however, that brief walk was cold, wet, windy and rather unpleasant, though did give me chance to consider whether “Brian Storm” would be a good wrestler name (I concluded that no, it would not…). The venue itself, Fibbers, is a noted live music spot in York.   I used to come to this building years ago when it was ‘Toffs’ nightclub.  It’s since been ‘Tokyo’ and ‘Tru’, and as of a couple of years ago now plays host Fibbers at the back, York’s Barvarian-styled Bierkeller at the front and a, erm, “gentleman’s club” club upstairs.  While regular readers of this blog will be horrified, the local nature of this show meant that I hadn’t planned on visiting any of the local drinking establishments beforehand.   Given the inclement weather, though, there was no chance of me queuing outside so I popped into the aforementioned Bierkeller to dry out and wet one’s whistle.  In true bierkeller fashion, they offer a variety of German beers served as either pints or steins.  I was tempted by the Warsteiner, but settled on the Lowenbrau at a reasonable £4.40 a pint.  Wunderbar. As for True Grit Wrestling, they originally started running shows in Leeds nightclubs in 2014, then moved to Wakefield for a single event, before stopping altogether when that venue became unavailable.  Those original shows were effectively the “big grown up sister” events to West Yorkshire-based GRAPPLE Wrestling, very strong on in-ring action and featuring many of the top names in northern BritWres.  GRAPPLE itself has been running Fibbers for over a year now, with the shows there recently rebranding under the returning True Grit banner.   As a university city, they’d put effort into marketing the show to students and it paid off, with the biggest crowd I have seen packed into that venue (150, I’d say), mainly young adults treating it as a night out.  It’s an ‘intimate’ setting for wrestling, with the all-standing crowd gathered looking down on the ring, which is set low down in a pit (the ‘dancefloor’).  The room and set-up doesn’t offer great sight lines unless you manage to get to the front of the standing areas (as a gig venue, it’s mainly intended for everyone to see the stage, not low on the floor), so it’s worth getting there a little early if you can.   I was lucky enough to get a decent vantage point (though next to the constant dripping of the leaking roof…), but with the strong attendance on this occasion there were plenty that were struggling to see. Inside waiting for the show to begin, we were treated to a soundtrack of WWE themes both old and current, including Seth Rollins, Sheamus, Kane, AJ Styles (that had people singing along!), Evolution, Los Guerreros, Ember Moon, Sanity and more.  There was chance to go to the bar, which has everything from your usual draft lagers to an impressive selection of bottled real ales and canned craft beers.   I started on the Goose IPA at £4.80 a pint (“One!” “Two!” “GOOSE!”  No.), before later moving onto Becks Vier (£3.90) until it ran out halfway through the show, pushing me onto the Stella Artois (also £3.90). The show itself opened with ring announcer Ricc “Dombrowski” (the name being a spoof on the former 1PW commentator) introducing Danny O’Doherty as the “host” for the show.  He was really good in this role, drinking beer, engaging with the audience, chipping in with comments before each match and leading chants during them.   He set the tone for the show as being a fun night out and encouraged people to get involved.  Good stuff. The first match saw The Evil Within (Sean Only & BA Rose) retain their GRAPPLE Tag Team Championship (or, to quote what is hilariously misspelt on the rather-crap-looking title belts, the “CHAMPIONATOS DE PAREJAS”…) over ‘Amazing’ Matt Myers and Ace Matthews.   The match was good, with Evil Within beating down their opponents and Myers & Matthews making spirited comebacks.  Rose reminds me of a mini Dave Mastiff, not only in the looks department but also with much of his offence (back sentons and cannonballs).  It was Only that scored the fall, though, pinning Ace after a curb stomp. The next match started off as a friendly bout between popular fan favourites the “Bhangra Bad Boy” Amir Jordan and “Hot-Blooded” Dom Black.  Black is pushed as “York’s Own”, and he did have his vocal fan club in the crowd there specifically to see him.  He’s a talented young performer that shows a lot of potential.  All friendliness came to a halt a few minutes later, though, as “Your Naan’s Favourite Wrestler” faked an injury as an opportunity to get a jump on Dom.   From that point on it was a heated brawl, with the entertaining Jordan showing annoyance at the audience’s support of Black.  The pair brawled out into the crowd, and referee Mark Rolls had no choice but to count them both out.  It was at this point that it was revealed that True Grit’s return date would be 20 January 2018, featuring a championship tournament with tonight’s matches acting as qualifiers.  As Black and Jordan were both counted-out, it was announced that both would be in that tournament.   So, the rivalry is to be continued, by the looks of it.  I like that they’re building some rivalries now that they seem to be running here semi-regularly – it always makes the matches more interesting than basic goodie vs. baddie. Next, former Super League player Luke Menzies showed off his power in dominating and beating Olly and Bradley (apologies, I missed their surnames) in a handicap match.  I’ve been incredibly impressed with Menzies on the few times I’ve seen him now; as I mentioned in my last appearance in #GrapsAndClaps he looks to have all the tools and aptitude to be a star in this business.   So this match was basically him just launching these two kids all over the place with ease and it was BRILLIANT.  Luke quickly put them out of their misery with a huge powerslam.  Consider me well and truly aboard the Luke Menzies train. The final match of the first half was billed as a “RI:SE guest match”, where WWE:UK’s MUSCLECAT Saxon Huxley bested Joe Vega with a shoulderbreaker.  RISE runs gritty cool-looking “underground”-type shows in Leeds gig venues, themed around attitude-fuelled brawling and out-of-control action.   They have a show coming up on Saturday 28 October at ‘Temple of Boom’, so that got a heavy plugging here.  I do want to check out a RISE show, as they are pretty local to me and do look very cool and chaotic in a good way, but they always tend to clash with other shows I’m already attending (as is the case with their show next week, as I’ll be in London for wXw that day). Vega was a regular on the north-west scene a number of years ago, but then had a long spell out with injury.  He was good here as the arrogant little prick.  Much of what Musclecat does is basic, but I noticed that he does do those basics very well indeed; he’s a solid and capable wrestler.  Danny O’Doherty spent most of this one leading chants of “JESUS!  JESUS!” over the microphone, based on Saxon’s biblical appearance. After an interval in which drinks were refilled and raffle tickets were bought, Boris Koslov beat The Pop Punk Kid in a colourful and entertaining contest with the air raid crash.  Boris, an alter-ego of longtime British wrestling personality JC Thunder, is no longer the “Russian Nightmare”, but a dancing, drinking friendly Russian party animal.  PPK is billed from Chicago and came out with a box of pizza to match his pepperoni pizza tights.   This match was daft but also loads of fun, with pizza getting thrown around (and out into the crowd) and Boris Cossack dancing and swigging from his vodka bottle to power-up his moves. A number of lounge chairs were brought into the ring next (then taken out… then put back in…), together with a potted plant, for a segment only described as “SPEED DATING WITH COWBOY JOHN PARKER”.   Cowboy John Parker is a manager on GRAPPLE/TGW shows, and wears a cowboy hat and cowboy boots.  Like a cowboy, you see.  He also fancies himself as a bit of a lothario, so this was about bringing out some of the female wrestlers (including Ruby Radley and Evee Black) for him to “woo”.  Instead, he insulted each of them in turn, before Evee smacked him round the head, called the segment “the most degrading thing I’ve ever been involved with in wrestling… and that’s saying something…” and challenged Parker to a match on the next show.   This whole thing was nowhere near as cringeworthy as I thought it could be; a daft bit of throwaway fun. Before the next match, in which THE LION KINGS Seb Strife & Nsereko beat Bison Reid and (a partner whose name I didn’t catch), it was time for that all-important raffle, often the highlight of a British wrestling show.  Starting a theme that would last all weekend, I only went and won the top bloomin’ prize – a family ticket to the 20 January return show.  So there.  The match itself was fine, a good showcase for the Lion Kings and featuring plenty of “RRRAAAAARRRR”ing.  Oh, and Bison Reid is literally the best name for a wrestler. The main event was a rematch from the last True Grit show in Fibbers, in which Martin Kirby had defeated ‘The Grafter’ to relieve him of the GRAPPLE Championship.  This return match was a streetfight, and while neither man “brought their jeans” for the occasion, it did involve an entire bagful of Poundland’s Halloween toys, including a severed hand which made a wonderfully satisfying noise when Kirby used it to chop Graves.  Being a streetfight, it was quite fitting that they went outside Fibbers and FOUGHT, on the STREET.  Most of the audience ran outside to watch, but I stayed inside and waited for it all to calm down…  Sure enough, they fought back to the ring, where they bumped the referee and Kirby hit a Sablebomb on top of a pumpkin for a desperate nearfall.  I am not making this up.  After surviving such devastation, Graves hit Kirby with a spear to win back his belt. And that was that.  Actually, no it wasn’t, because the show closed with a massive brawl between all the guys in the 20 January tournament and more.  Referees & trainees couldn’t separate them, and it was only when the onlooking Big T Justice jumped in to lend a hand that everyone thought “f*ck that” and wisely backed down. And THAT was that.   A fun little show that I really enjoyed, and I’ll likely be back for the 20 January championship tournament show (I did win the raffle, after all).  Good local undergraps.  Some good upcoming talented performers in a good atmosphere. And nothing that could be described as “bad”.  You can find out more about that show and True Grit Wrestling in general on Facebook and at @TrueGriPromote on Twitter.  As for me, you can read more about my adventures at @BritWresAwayDay and maybe one day back in another guest edition of this blog… Until then, keep supporting Andy and #GrapsAndClaps, and I’ll see you out there!
