OKAY SO GUYS GUYS GUYS.
I figured out a way to make The Day That Wasn't happen. Like, actually happen. Realistically.
There is no "Five inexplicably just decides to come back an entire day later than he could," which is the literal only other way that I could think of.
I actually love it a bit, because it is so simple.
Five isn't only at the Commission to get a briefcase; The Commission also has information. Information that Five desperately needs. And it is, in fact, entirely accessible... via the Infinite Switchboard.
And let's face it, Five happening across that one transmission at the exact right time was entirely coincidental.
So what happens if Five misses the message that says, "Protect Harold Jenkins"?
He looks for answers elsewhere.
He threatens the entire roomful of people with the grenade like "I can drop it and be out of here before it hits the floor."
On the Infinite Switchboard, he examines every interaction his siblings have with an outsider, including fucking Klaus's torture.
And he finds Vanya opening the book. He reads what she reads. And he's like, wait, when did this happen? Holy fuck, has something good happened while I wasn't there??? Hang on——
And what does he see but his siblings each, seperately, having the best thing happen to them that is possible in that moment. PLUS he now knows that Vanya's powers are a very real possibility in what causes the apocalypse, and that said powers are linked to her emotions. Which is such a HUGE advance on what he knew before, which was Nothing, that skipping a day might actually not hurt in the long run. And if it's this day, it might actually be helpful.
And while Five is constantly annoyed by his siblings' "incompetence"— He does care about them. A lot.
I mean, he has lived literally an entire lifetime revolving around trying to Get Back in order to save their lives kind of caring.
Bingo.

Personally, I think they should turn the fact that Aiden Gallagher is basically an Adult Man into a running gag in Umbrella Academy. Like yeah, I'm cool with their "y'all have had to accept weirder things than this 19-year-old in pre-pubescent schoolboy shorts, just ignore it and look at the sentient cube thing" approach. It's quite humorous actually, but I think it would be really funny if they just:
"Hey guys is it just me or does Five look a lot older than you remember?"
"You're right actually, weren't you thirteen like a week ago? Why do you have a five o'clock shadow?"
"You've all aged me 20 years just let me f*cking retire."

The Umbrella Academy from the P.o.V of Raymond Chestnut would be a horror film.

Part 2/2 Diego’s love language- PHYSICAL TOUCH!
Season 3: Ya boy’s emotions have been fully unlocked. Forget the slapping- Diego almost always has his hand on Stan’s back or shoulder as he walks him around the hotel. He gets a patented face grab when he kills* Klaus. He’s ruffling his hair, for God’s sake! Stan gets a negative touch from Alphonso and Diego flies into a murderous rage. He loves his alleged child already.

In the second half of the season, Diego and Lila are basically velcro’d together. Diego is almost always touching her in some fashion- kissing, holding hands, grabbing her face, etc. They’re holding hands in nearly every scene. Man’s got it bad and he’s ready to show it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In conclusion, Diego is a cinnamon roll who can kill you but will lovingly stroke your arm if you’re his family in any way. He’ll be obsessively rubbing Lila’s stomach for the next six months. She’ll pretend to want to homicide him but will actually love it. Baby Grace will likely spend the first few months of her life constantly strapped to his bare chest in a baby carrier so he can stroke her cute little head anytime he wants.

POV: You just watched umbrella academy season 3 which absolutely butchers Allison's character development from both season 1 and season 2 erasing all the bonds she made with her siblings as she spends most of the season making horrible life decisions.

Theory: Klaus ends up finally being able to control the ghosts in this scene
Tumblr media
And that connects to Allison maybe looking for him or something and the ghosts go for her or maybe his telekinesis finally comes into play?
Tumblr media
Comparing the wispy texture and colour of the energy to the kugelblitz here that seems way fainter and doesn't actually physically interact with things but rather pass through them and then disintegrate them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And Viktor's powers.
Tumblr media
Viktor's power has a slight outline, like Five's does when he jumps, when he lets out a blast. Plus, the colour is a much stronger blue.
Compare these to Klaus summoning the ghosts in the trailer.
Tumblr media
While not the exact same, neither the Kugelblitz nor Viktor or Five's powers have the same green tint they've included in Klaus' powers this season. This helps distinguish his powers from the others.

From a psychological point of view, Allison's mental break was written so well and Emmy's execution knocked it out of the park

Here's what to do if you get kidnapped by assholes with nefarious intentions and your idiot siblings have no idea you're even gone:

It's very weird people are upset that Lila is kinda insane.. when her nickname is "Crazy Lady" and her first appearance was in an asylum. Just sayin' it's a weird thing to complain about of all things lol.

The reason why you hate Allison so much this season is because Emmy Raver gave the performance of the century as a villain and that’s that on that

Something I noticed during s2 that I know some people in this fandom are not going to like me bringing up:
Klaus is oldest umbrella (other than five)
At the start of s1 they’re all 29/30 (can’t remember what month we start in), then during that Klaus spends a year in 1970s Vietnam, making him 30/31, then after that he’s the one dropped earliest in the 60s, three years before Viktor, who was dropped the latest (again, other than Five), making him 33/34.
Meaning by where we are in s3 he is a solid four years older than everyone else.
Yet he’s still the one who gets infantilised the most?
..What?

Stranger things writers: We will only kill newly introduced characters even though it makes no sense logically. We will keep the main characters safe though killing them would have given a beautiful ending to their arc. While we are at it, let us use gay character's feelings to enhance hetero couple's love story.
Umbrella Academy writers: We will make our main character embrace their identity as a man because we love and respect our actors. If we lose viewership because of this then so be it. Screw them bigots. We will never lower our standards.
TUA might never gain as much popularity as ST because, as they say, it is a bonkers show for chaotic people. But it has never let me down where it actually matters.
