Controversial Theory on the Zelda timeline
So, uhm, I was watching a couple of videos that had pretty much nothing to do with the timeline when it hit me.
Link was looking for a friend in MM, right? And everyone considered that friend to be navi...
But then, let us think back to what Zelda did for Link at the end of OOT: Sending him back in time before ever meeting Zelda in the first place. (Only caviat being the disappearance of the master sword and Link being in the sword chamber when he returns... I think the sword has been sent to the sacred realm to regain energy, as explained in TotK) We then see Navi and Link go to separate ways, with Link deciding to go to Zelda once more. (most likely warning about ganondorf)
Here is what I think happened: Zelda sent Link back to before Ganondorf began cursing Hyrule's keepers of the spiritual stones. Before Link began his quest to begin with. And I think this causes 2 Links to exist at that point in time. One at the start, and one at the end. This would explain where Navi left off to at the end of the game. Her role in the legend is to keep the timeloop going.
Every partner in the Zelda titles has had similar roles. Tattle was there to help stop Majora, Midna needed to reclaim her throne and push back the out-of-control twilight realm. And we know Vi became the Master sword, and the king of red lions was the old king of Hyrule. It is weird to consider Navi having no story to play in her debut title.
And to get back to the two Links now present in Hyrule. One goes to look for their friend in Termina, and the other makes the timeloop happen all over again. Most likely with Zelda (possibly) lying about the dream she had. It was Link's warning. It does not break the 'split' timeline whatsoever.
Speaking of timelines... I think I know where the switch titles need to be placed on the timeline. I think it is the kick-off point for the third, previously only happening when Link would have died timeline.
It is normal for legends to have details all wrong. Like the amount of sages, or of what these sages are. What I mean to say is that the past events from TotK are what is happening in the OOT child-timeline during Link's quest. Thinking logically, for the BotW Zelda to exist, the family-roots need to reach all the way back to the origin of both the time and light powers: Rauru and Sonia. But they both died! Therefore, they must have had a child before Zelda got sent back to their time.
And what do we see in those events? We see Ganondorf, kneeling in front of the king, moments before his evil schemes take effect and allow him to ruin an entire kingdom.
But here is why I think it falls in the third timeline: There is no Link in existance in these events! And if Link and young Zelda do not work together to open the sacred realm for Ganondorf, the triforce is never obtained and broken into pieces, which is also the case of the first few games in this timeline!
To summarize, TotK singlehandedly fixed the official timeline to be possible! It would still be called the downfall timeline, because Link would probably not have survived the war that killed his mother either. (or he died during the OOT game, still...)

music: savage streets by perturbator, you’ll only be safe with me by tuff turf, dark all day by gunship
You stood on one knee, feeling Kai’s fingers under your belt as he held you. You shoved out of the window half way, and yelled,
“I’m good!”
He pushed the gas pedal into the floor, and the car roared angrily, tearing through the night mist.
The black shadows surrounded you, floating out of the metal and brick twilight of the street so suddenly fear shot through you like lightning. You held up your shotgun and aimed, trying to balance with your hip on the frame of the window. Falling out of the window would mean imminent death: zombies were everywhere. They were waiting on the corners, in the windows of the buildings, hiding in the shade, behind the smelly dumpsters and in the middle of the road. As the city lights died out, and the car raced deeper into the district, golden and silver changed into cold blue and electric, the colors of docks and warehouses.
“I got them!”
“Shoot!” Kai yelled.
You exhaled and did not inhale, because the best snipers don’t breathe when shooting. As the monster truck passed by the cluster of black silhouettes, you fired three rounds into them, scaring the gathering and hitting one of them. Then you fell back into your seat and pulled your hair away from your face. It will be a bitch to try and brush after. The car drove out into the narrow quay where black water lay like glistening dirty skin, and Kai’s face was yellow in the passing bleak lights.
“What the hell is that?” he asked, poiting at the figure on the roof on the left. He slowed down a little, and you looked back to make sure nobody’s following you. You set the shotgun on your right.
“It’s Jeepers Creepers”.
“Wha... Y/N. What is Jeepers fucking Creepers doing at our zombie apocalypse?”
“I don’t know, Kai”, you snarled, “maybe he launched it. How am I supposed to know?”
“You’re driving me crazy”.
“I am afraid of Jeepers Creepers, okay? He’s gonna be the final boss”.
“I’m gonna tear his balls off”, Kai mumbled.
“He’ll take yours. That’s what he does”, you reminded him.
Kai snored.
“Get up. There’s more. They must have circled the parking lot. Look”.
Right in the middle of the road, where yellow fog was floating in the air like phantom veil, and the asphalt glistened, sweaty after 10PM rain, the black shadows barricaded the road. Kai stopped the car, and the low grumble slowly faded into the quiet, monotnous howl of the city. Somewhere, trains were moving to and fro on the rails, colliding with each other, creating noise. The factories were working, sending black smoke into the opaque sky, clogged by unwilling cigarrette clouds. The river itself, it seemed, hummed something very low, like a deadly lullaby. This world was a hostile and lonesome place. The only warm thing in here was Kai’s body sitting next to you, radiating humanity. You jerked your shotgun. You knew he was seeing exactly the same thing as you did - a bunch of zombies swaying slowly in your direction. He turned up the music a little.
“Ready?”
“Yeah”.
“Aim better or else we’re gonna drive in circles all night”.
“Don’t tell me how to kill zombies, Kai”.
He mimicked you, starting the car.
Next night, it was his turn, and you did the same thing, racing through the night city, crashing into cardbox fortresses and blowing up the glass forts, shooting the heads off the zombies, until you both have had enough of that zombie apocalypse world. It has been some time until you got tired.
(To get into the right mood, you have occupied the Columbus Movie Theatre for like a week, rewatching zombie movies. Turned out, you can’t just walk into a movie theatre and find all the zombie films piled up neatly in the movie room - or whatever it’s called. You have argued about them again and again, Kai insisting on Evil Dead being immortal classic, but the Day of the Dead was his all-time favorite. You nearly got into a fistfight with him over the Return of the Living Dead.
“Of course”, he puffed and laughed out, condescending as hell.
“What’s that laugh?!” you demanded. Kai shrugged.
“It’s such a girly thing. Return of the Living Dead. The third part is also your favorite, isn’t it?”
And he gave you the nastiest look. You narrowed your eyes.
“You bigot. You absolute fuckface. The first one is my favorite”.
He was enjoying himself too much, obviously agitated by the topic, not entirely there.
“Okay, okay”.
“But for the record, yes, I do think that the third part is the best love story I’ve ever seen on screen. It’s incredible”.
Kai nodded, the smile never leaving his face.
“She managed to fight off her cannibalistic instinct not to hurt the person she loved. She tore herself with needles and hooks to fight the urge to kill him and actually managed to keep him safe although she was literally a flesh eating zombie. How cool is that?”
Kai sighed and looked you in the eye.
“Very cool’, he said, with the tone that screamed ‘you’re silly and I adore you’.
“What other movies came out this year?”
“Not many, it’s only May”, he replied, digging deep into the box with films.
“Is Dream Lover out yet?”
“Yep”.
“We should watch it”.
“Later”, Kai said, throwing a film across the room and allowing it to crash into pieces. You hoped to hell it wasn’t Dream Lover.
“And Freddie Krueger?”
“No, not yet”.
“Damn it”, you looked over his shoulder.
“No Freddie Krueger!” he announced, “that’s it, she draws the line at Freddie. We’re leaving now”.
You laughed.
In the dark movie room, you could choose any row, any seats. You nested against each other, honoring the sacred cinema theatre tradition to gently touch in the twilight. While the action unfolded on screen, you had to shove popcorn into Kai’s mouth because it was the only way you could make him stop talking. When you ran out of popcorn, you had to shut him up with your mouth. It was a great week.)
You looked around the street and then, at Kai. How lucky he was, to find himself in this wretched place with someone as willing to play zombies as you were. You should do it more often. Maybe you should act out Mist next, somewhere in Houston.
You pulled your backpack up, and your eyes darted towards the black tower, ominous, insidious without any light, like a gigantic grave stone. Before Parker cut all the electricity, it was the Hancock Tower, now, it was just Tower. And the path to it lay through the dangerous city filled with brain craving monsters, bloodthirsty, dumb and ferocious, and you were running out of bullets. Besides, earlier on, you fell through one of the cardboard box forteresses and bruised your knee so badly, together with your left hand which you landed on. This adventure would be the death of you.
Kai twitched.
“I hear something”, he said, cocking his gun. You stood behind him, one-handed, unable to shoot. You closed your eyes. Lo, if they attack from all directions, you won’t be any help. A wounded companion is worse than an enemy in this world. You wondered if Kai would leave you alone to be eaten and stall them, or whether he’d shoot you in the head first, to spare you.
He walked on a little, entering a small square, and the black outlines of hairless, clotheless humans frightened you like you weren’t the one who had put them there ten hours earlier. They spooked you every time.
Kai shot three times, hitting each mannequin with one bullet.
“On the roof!” you pointed, turning back. You bowed as he threw up his shotgun, and fired. Heavy plastic body hopped and rolled down, falling on the ground. Kai could see in the dark so well you had to remind yourself he was human. Sometimes you would forget that fact completely. He was so different from everybody else.
He led you towards the tower where you stabbed one of the zombies in the throat. He was good at shooting, but you were very gifted with stabbing. You never missed.
“God damn”, Kai panted, as the mannequin swayed and collapsed on the asphalt just next to the glass door he was holding for you, “you saved my life”.
He took you in the movie gesture, pulling you into a long kiss. Your wrist started swelling and you had to take off your electronic watch temporarily. In the bleak room, it shone with green thin neon light from the bedside table while you had sex on the matrass.
In the middle of the night something fell off the roof, and scared the hell out of you - for real this time. You did not put anything on the top of the Tower since it was your fort. In the morning you came up on the top, while Kai went down and examined the object. Turned out, on the tenth of May, 1994, one single bag filled with files and staplers fell off the roof of the Hancock Tower. There was no way of knowing why.
Tumblr media
“Wake up”.
You opened your eyes and rubbed your neck, aching from sleeping on the single mattrass on the floor. You looked out of the window. It has just stopped raining, which meant it was already close to midnight. In the dystopian Boston, you have switched to night regime of living completely because in the daylight, mannequins randomly standing in the streets looked simply stupid.
“The Titans”, he said. Kai’s face was so close to yours, you could feel the words on your skin. His eyes shone nervously.
“What Titans? It’s zombie apocalypse, Kai”.
He frowned.
“And what was Jeepers Creepers doing there then?”
“Oh my god”, you groaned, “let go of it already! You killed him like a week ago”.
“Come on, see for yourself”, he pulled you up, and you walked to the window, and gasped, instantly feeling for Kai’s hand. It couldn’t be happening.
That’s it! This madness finally drove you... mad.
There was an actual silhouette, the one you didn’t put there, and possibly couldn’t. The one that could not be put there for the life of you. The one of proportions too great for anyone to put it in the middle of the city, one foot on the right side of the river, and the other, on the left.
“What the fuck!” you yelled, your fright real as ever. Kai grinned happily, but then his face changed back to the philosophical expression of impending doom.
“This is it, Y/N. The zombies... and that dude... were just omens, but that’s it. The sky people have come to destroy us. It’s the end“.
“Seriously, Kai, how did you put it up... there?”
The sky was blackish-bordeaux, like usual. The river was seen just fine from here, from the top floor of the Tower. You had a pretty good look on the gloomy city and all its post-war industrial charm. The figure was so big it stood almost above the Tower itself; he reminded you of the Colossus of Rhodos, the Bronze Man, or one of the mythical golden gods of ancient times. You could actually feel your heart trying to break the hell out of your ribcage in a desperate attempt to kill itself. You couldn’t breathe for a second, mortified by the size of that thing. It was one of the deepest nightmares of your childhood, one of the visions haunting you from when you were little and kept dreaming about the end of the world.
You told Kai about those, and he now used them against you, but you appreciated the performance. It was all almost like art. It was horrifying and great, but you hated it.
“He came down from the clouds”, Kai said quietly, like a dispassionate narrator. Who already knows what’s coming, and doesn’t give a shit, because he’s already dead.
“To press the earth into the core of the planet, and make all life perish. He shall walk the land... waging his wrath on all that breathes. Including you and me”.
You made an effort to turn away, mesmerized by the statue, and looked at Kai.
“How much magic have you wasted on it?”
“I’d appreciate it if you didn’t break the character, it takes me a lot of concentration”.
“Sorry”, you whispered.
“How do you feel about facing the end of the world with me?” he asked.
It was a damn good question. Parker really did ask all the right questions. After all the time in post-apocalyptic Boston, surrounded by enemy, living in a dark den and barely seeing the sun, it was very easy to actually sense the end coming. You clutched your own elbows, thinking. Strangely, you weren’t scared anymore.
A part of his face was in the shadow. He blinked the way you’ve only ever seen Kai blink, just a little, as if he didn’t want to lose visual even for a split second.
“I’m okay with it. I have lived a fine life, in my totalitarian city, guarded by robots and...”
“...zombies...”
“Hunted down by Harrison Ford...”
“You just jumble together all the movies, it’s actually insane, stop it”.
“But now as Cthulhu has sent its warriors...” (Kai rolled his eyes), “I’m ready to go”.
A lonely honk of a train cut through the distance making you feel melancholic. The trains were just crawling there day and night, filling the air with their lonesome cries occasionally. It would make any reasonable person go crazy, too.
“What will be the last thing you do before you die?” he whispered, his nose almost touching yours. You gave in, hot slow lava crawling up your body. You took Kai’s waist, trying to feel his ribs through three layers of clothing.
“You”.
He probably wore three or four shirts just to see you go nuts as you tried to undress him every time. His street jacket goes, then, a pullover, then a shirt, then another shirt, and you groan with anger as he chuckles at you, his hands snaking under your clothes at once. Your skin went shivering, covered with goose bumps under his fingers, like by magic.
As he pushed you against the wall, the gigantic Titan started melting above the river, looming shadow stepping away from the city, which was flattering. Kai’s whole mind was directed at you now.
You thought about how one loves at the brink of extinction; is it passionate, like when Kai grabbed your shoulder, your hair, pounding you into the floor, or is it gentle and thoughtful, like when you only moved your hips slowly, pressed against each other like two halves of Oreo, or is it impatient, breathless and vile, like when he was fucking you against the wall, talking all the way through your whimpering?
It took the end of the world for you to end up on his dick.

summary: Catalina starts college in a small town all the way across the country. She doesn’t know anyone and isn’t exactly looking for friends. She just wants to focus on dance. But when she meets fellow dance major, Jimin, and adventurous, fellow freshman, Jungkook, Catalina ends up discovering a whole new side to the small college town; one that is dangerous but oh so enticing…
The warm weather was fleeting; Catalina spent her days studying, working, and every chance she got, hanging out with her friends. The “baseball encounter”, as she’s been calling it, has been living in the back of her mind ever since, even though it seemed her friends had forgotten about it. She never brought it up, just focusing on her college life. Namjoon took her out to fancy bookstores and coffee shops, Jungkook tried and failed to teach her how to skateboard, and Jin tried and failed to help them in French. She was kept busy and she was having fun.
All was peaceful, until a college student was reported missing in St. Briggs. Jimin cornered Catalina in dance class about it one chilly, early winter day.
They were practicing their dance to “Body”, by Megan Thee Stallion.
“One, two, three, turn, five, six, step and hit,” the teacher called out. “One, two, ba, ba, jump, Steve! What song are you dancing to, ‘cause it’s not this! Find the goddamn beat! Alright, everyone except Steve, take five.”
Catalina’s final move in the dance was on the ground, so instead of getting up, she crawled over to her dance bag and pulled out her water bottle, collapsing against the wall. Jimin joined her and said, “Have you heard the news?”
Catalina shook her head between sips.
“A student went missing,” he said. “In St. Briggs. From our college.”
“Aren’t they the second person to go missing here?” Catalina asked. “I don’t like the sound of that.”
“Yeah, me neither,” said Jimin. “The first person was a little kid. My parents are freaking out about me walking to campus now.”
“And the police have no idea who the guy is?” asked Catalina. “I mean, they don’t know anything?”
“Not really,” said Jimin. “It’s like these people disappeared without a trace.”
“Hm,” Catalina thought about the disappearances and the mysterious “baseball encounter”. She wondered if they were connected. “You wanna do some investigating?”
“What are you-no, we’re not visiting those vampires,” said Jimin. “That’s a really bad idea. Namjoon told us to stay out of it and he definitely knows more about this stuff than we do.”
Catalina knew she wouldn’t get anywhere with Jimin. She would just have to wait until she saw Jungkook to bring it up again. She knew he’d have no qualms about going on a potentially life-threatening mission.
Her chance came that weekend when she and Jungkook worked their shift together at the souvenir shop. Business was starting to pick up since the first snow was expected to arrive any day now.
Tourists started stopping by more and more and Catalina got to see what Jungkook meant by “hot tourists”. The men and the women were beautiful, and her and Jungkook both had fun checking them out from behind the counter. But today was slow, so Catalina figured she’d take the opportunity to tell him about her plan.
“Jungkook, what do you think about stealing that business card and sneaking around a potential lair?” asked Catalina.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about, but yes. I’m in,” he said. The two of them were straightening the ceramic bear and eagle figurines, killing time between customers.
“Remember those three vampires on baseball day?”
               “Uh-huh.”
“The guy gave Namjoon a business card,” said Catalina.
“Oh right! Yeah, I remember,” said Jungkook.
“I was thinking maybe we could steal it and do our own investigating. I mean, what if those guys have something to do with the missing people?” Catalina said. Jungkook looked up at her with wide eyes.
“Oh shit! Ya know, you’re probably right!” he said. “They just moved here, and then all of a sudden, a kid goes missing in this town. It makes sense.”
               “Exactly,” said Catalina.
“But how will we get the business card?” asked Jungkook. “Do we sneak into his room or his office or whatever?”
“That’s what I was thinking. One of us distracts him, while the other sneaks in and finds it,” said Catalina.
“I feel like you should distract him. A classic honey pot mission,” said Jungkook.
“Do you know what that means?” Catalina asked, snickering.
“Don’t you seduce someone to complete a mission?” asked Jungkook.
“You usually have to fuck someone in a honey pot mission,” said Catalina.
“Oh, well, how bad can it be? I mean, he’s hot as fuck,” he said with a wave of his hand. Catalina’s face turned bright red.
“I’m not- we’re…” she sighed. “Jungkook, casual sex isn’t really my thing and I don’t like him that way. I don’t think he likes me that way either.”
“Are you kidding? What about all those bookstores and coffee shops? Those weren’t dates?” asked Jungkook. “What were you guys doing?”
“Looking at books!” said Catalina. “He just really likes literature, and I really like coffee.”
“Did he pay for your coffee every time?”
               “Yes.”
“Then that’s a date,” said Jungkook.
“We spot each other all the time. So, are you telling me it’s a date when you pay for my McDonalds or when I pay for your movie ticket?” asked Catalina.
“That’s different,” said Jungkook. Catalina threw her hands up.
“Okay, we’re getting off topic,” she said. “You distract him, I’ll get the card.”
“Casual sex also isn’t my thing though,” said Jungkook.
Catalina threw her head back laughing. “You don’t have to fuck him! Just keep him downstairs talking or something.”
“I can do that. Are we doing it tonight?” asked Jungkook.
               “Sure.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~
               That evening, Catalina and Jungkook went to the mansion. Jungkook brought his French homework. Luckily, Namjoon was the one to answer the door.
               “Oh, hey guys! Come on in,” he said. He led them to the lounge and Jungkook immediately got his homework out.
               “I was wondering if you could help me with this,” said Jungkook.
               “Sure, let’s see,” said Namjoon. Catalina wandered off. The upstairs was thankfully not as big as the main floor, but there were many halls and many rooms. Catalina went to Hoseok’s room, starting her search from there. The next door in the hallway was open. Catalina looked inside, flicking on the light switch. It looked like a basic, model bedroom. It didn’t look like it belonged to anyone, probably a guest room. The next room was enormous and absolutely trashed. The giant bed in the middle of the room had a mountain of blankets and clothes on it. Clothes, loose papers, and books littered the floor. Beat up, crooked antique paintings decorated the walls, along with torn calligraphy banners. The Asian style furniture looked ancient, worn and battered, but luxuriously wealthy.
               Catalina moved on to the next room. This one was a bit more modern and, curiously, vaguely nautical themed. A huge window against the back wall let light shine in on the white painted wood of the furniture, the mess of easels and canvases in the corner, and the mix of paintings on the seashell wallpapered walls: realism, abstract, cubism, a few charcoal sketches of Hoseok, Yoongi, and Namjoon, and a single painting of a lighthouse looking out at a stormy sea. Catalina went to the next room.
               This one was the most modern, with dark walls and mahogany furniture. It was sleek and rustic, with a twisted wood bed frame, alpaca rugs on the ground, smooth couches in the corner with a driftwood coffee table in the center, and along every free wall, bookshelves. The entire room was spotless. This must be Namjoon’s room. At least, Catalina hoped it was. She stepped inside and went to the desk tucked into one of the bookshelves. She rifled through the drawers until she found one filled with business cards.
               “Shit,” she whispered. There were quite a few cards, but she got to work sorting through them. Most of them looked old and yellowed with age. She automatically set those ones aside. She couldn’t remember that vampire’s name, but she knew she’d remember it if she saw it. After sorting through what felt like hundreds of cards, she finally found one with the familiar name on it.
               It was a new card, simple, with just a name, an address, and a phone number on it. The name on it was Makai La’ei. That sounded right. Catalina rearranged the rest of the cards back to how she found them and shoved this one in her pocket. She was definitely running out of time, Jungkook only had so much homework.
               When she got downstairs, she went right to the lounge, but it was empty. Jungkook’s French textbook was laying open on the coffee table. Her heart skipped a beat. Namjoon wouldn’t hurt him, would he? She thought. She backed out of the lounge and looked up and down the hallway. Her heart was pounding, but before her thoughts could fully run away on her, she heard Jungkook’s voice approaching, saying, “And that’s how I went to senior prom with Dr. Dre’s daughter, Truly.”
Namjoon and Jungkook rounded the corner, both holding McDonalds bags and hot coffees in their hands.
“You guys went out?” Catalina asked.
               “Yeah, we got hash browns,” said Namjoon, handing one of the bags to her.
               “Isn’t this yours?” asked Catalina.
               “Grease gives me a stomachache,” he said.
               “I was just craving hash browns. I figured you’d want a few too,” said Jungkook. Catalina’s heart skipped a beat, but this time not out of fear.
               “I love these,” she whispered, opening the greasy paper bag to see three hash browns inside. Something nudged her hand. She looked up to see Jungkook handing her his coffee as well. Namjoon wandered off, sipping at his own coffee. “What are you doing?”
               “I don’t like coffee,” he said. “Take it.”
               “Thank you,” she said. “Did you already finish your homework?”
               “Yeah, turns out Namjoon is fluent in French,” said Jungkook. “And Korean, and Chinese, and Japanese, and German. And…what was that other one?”
               “Swahili,” Namjoon said from inside the lounge.
               “Why?” asked Catalina.
               “I was bored,” he said with a shrug. Jungkook looked at Catalina with questioning eyes. Catalina nodded.
               “Well, thank you for helping me with this,” said Jungkook, gathering his textbook and notes. “I hate this class, so any help is much appreciated. Anyway, we have to get going. We have some errands to run.”
               “Sure, no problem,” said Namjoon as he walked them to the door. “We’re all fluent in French here, expect for Hoseok, so feel free to ask any of us any time.”
               “Thank you,” Catalina said as she pulled her shoes on.
~~~~~~~~~~
“That was too easy,” said Jungkook as they were getting into his car.
“Not really!” said Catalina. “He had a whole drawer full of business cards. I had to sort through all of them.”
“I was talking about the homework,” said Jungkook. He pulled out of the driveway and began the drive down the mountain. “He gave me all the answers. But that explains why you were gone for so long.”
“Yeah, and I saw the other rooms,” said Catalina. “I think Tae’s room is nautical themed.”
“Why?” Jungkook asked. Catalina shrugged. “Well, whatever. Does that card have an address on it?”
“Yeah,” Catalina pulled the card out of her pocket and typed the address into her maps app. It gave her a route to a location in the middle of the town. She let Siri lead them as she plugged in her phone and looked up spy music on iTunes. She found a playlist and put it on shuffle, letting the groovy guitar of “Secret Agent Man” blast through the car.
By the time they arrived, they were well into “Hawaii Five-O”. The GPS had led them to what looked like an abandoned hospital. Jungkook drove a block past it so they could walk the rest of the way. As they walked, they reviewed the plan.
“So, we can’t get caught, obviously,” said Jungkook. “We’re just sneaking in, taking a quick look, maybe some pictures, then getting out.”
“Right,” said Catalina. “Quick and fast.”
They snuck in and found a basement stairwell, which they took. The rest of the hospital was empty. They could hear voices coming from the basement, so as quietly as they could, they snuck down the stairs, which led them to a cement tunnel with a metal grated floor. The tunnel gave Catalina a sense of Déjà vu, but she couldn’t figure out why. Faint voices echoed from the end of the tunnel. They reached the end and peaked around the corner. What they saw made their jaws drop. A huge, cavernous cement room with some furniture in the middle. Doors lined the walls, some open, some closed. Catalina could see from where she was that there were people in the rooms with open doors. People sitting or laying on the ground, tubes attached to their arms connecting to IV stands, blood bags hanging from the hooks.
Jungkook was snapping rapid fire pictures of as much of the room as they could see.
The voices, which were coming from a part of the room they couldn’t see, stopped talking.
“Bernard, go check the tunnel and stairs. I thought I heard something.”
Before Bernard even had a chance to move, Catalina and Jungkook booked it back down the tunnel and up the stairs. Jungkook led the way, and he was fast, so Catalina struggled to keep up with him. Once they were at the top of the stairs, they looked around for an open room. A bit down the hall, there was an open doorframe with a missing door. They darted for it, Jungkook pulling her inside and crowding her against the wall, hidden in the shadows.
Catalina was scared they’d be caught, but now she freaking out about something entirely different, namely, Jungkook’s chest and arms caging her against the wall. He was so close that Catalina could feel the heat coming off him. Her blush made its way down her neck into her chest, her breath quickening.
“He’s coming,” Jungkook whispered, his wide eyes glued to the doorway. Sure enough, Catalina could hear heavy boots crunching through the debris in the hallway, getting closer to where they were. “Do you trust me?”
“What?” Catalina asked.
“Do you trust me?” Jungkook asked again. “I saw this in a TV show. It works every time.”
Before Catalina could ask for clarification, several things happened at once: the man, presumably Bernard, began entering the room, Jungkook pressed even closer, a hand on her waist, the other finding its way to her hair, and his lips crashed against hers. She let out a squeak of surprise but quickly caught on, gripping his shirt and leaning into the kiss.
“Oh, for crying out loud,” a man’s voice said from the doorway. They broke apart and looked at him. “This is private property, guys. Get lost.”
“Sorry,” Jungkook said, flashing a sheepish smile. Bernard stepped aside to let them past, waving them in the direction of the exit. Even though her heart was still pounding out of her chest and her head was still spinning, Catalina made a point to check Bernard’s eyes. They were red.
On their way out, they heard the crackle of a walkie talkie and Bernard saying, “It was just some kids making out upstairs. This happens way too often, boss. We gotta start putting signs up or something.”
On their way to the car, Jungkook said, “That was a close one.”
“Was that just an excuse to kiss me?” Catalina joked, not sure she wanted to know the answer.
“It worked, didn’t it?” Jungkook said with a wink. Catalina blushed and shoved him.
“Shut up,” she said.

+ I’m sorry I’m annoying but part two to my last asks!! I just imagine calum being all heart eyes for her minding his own business tho playing his guitar but every time he doesn’t have to use vocals or his bass he caught her hand or keep her close and ahh singing wildflower to her!!’ When at first the girls just wanted to have fun on stage with them but Calum just keeps her close the whole time singing to her and her singing back with him and being all funny and giggly together ooof
Thanks for your suggestion! It took me a minute to get to it. I did combine it with a few other suggestions. One person asked for drama and someone asked for angst. And viola! Here it is.

_____________________________________________________________
The release of her album is followed by a tour. At first, she’s excited. Her mind runs wild with possibilities. Her fingers can’t keep up fast enough with every wonder and question she sends to Calum and thankfully, he doesn’t seem to mind the incessant buzzing. He takes each question in stride. It’s nice, in a way, for him to have the wisdom to give her. Like she doesn’t have to go in blind like he did, especially since it’s just her. He hopes he can make her feel a little less alone on the road. It can be a hard road to travel alone.
The glimmer starts to wear off fast. Rehearsals turn her into a zombie. She’s up fairly early stretching, taking her dog for a walk, trying to remind herself that everything’s going to fall into place like it needs to, but the second she walks into the rehearsal space it feels like everything is going to fall apart. That somehow everything she’s ever wanted on tour is just too much, too much out of the budget, too much because she doesn’t have the weight to her name just yet. And maybe it’s a lot of glitz and glamour. Maybe she is asking for too much. Maybe that would be her downfall.
Her phone buzzes. And she pauses, sitting on the floor with her mic in hand, and glances over to it. It’s Calum again. Another message that she won’t actually read until some ungodly hour in the night. He’s got to be up to his throat in worry. She can’t seem to think enough to text him back during the day. Too much is going on. She feels like she’s going to sink, just through the carpeted floor and through the concrete foundation and bury herself into the dirt. Maybe that would be a better fate for her.
She turns her attention back to her notebook, with the crude drawing she made when she was trying to set the stage. “Let’s just,” she sighs. “Let’s start from scratch.”
And it works. Though it’s long and arduous, she’s able to figure out how to set the stage, finalizing the neon design. There’s a rough draft at the video that will be playing behind her for a wardrobe change. By the time she’s able to crawl into her sheets, it’s nearly 1 am. There’s barely enough energy to keep her eyes open to send Calum an apology text. When she wakes, she grins at her dog waiting patiently at the side of her bed.  “Ready to go, bubs?”
They give a tiny whine and rest their snout on the covers. She laughs, “Yeah, you’re ready to go.” She manages to brush her teeth and slips into a change of clothes before going out for a run.
Between showering and getting dressed, she checks her messages. Happy to hear that you got things straightened, baby. Reach out whenever you get a breather, reads the text from Calum.
She responds with a good morning text and then switches over to her email. At the top is an email with ‘urgent’ in the subject. She’s praying it’s not more bad news. She doesn’t quite have the heart to withstand more bad news after the progress they made yesterday. It’s details about a festival date in LA. That perfectly lines between her break between the European leg of the tour and the North America dates. She doesn’t even think twice about agreeing to the festival show.
Right as her day winds down, from a shockingly smooth day of rehearsals, Calum calls her. And though she’s drenched in sweat from the light choreography and running it for hours, she stops and answers. “Hey, baby.”
“Oh, she lives!”
“I know, I know. Sorry.”
“Only kidding. I know you’re hard at work. It’s just really good to hear your voice. How are rehearsals?”
“Really good now. Once we got over the hump, it’s like smooth sailing.”
“Good, I’m glad. I was calling. We got word a couple days ago about a festival show right when you’re on break between legs. And I was hoping you had some free time, just to hang out.”
She can’t contain the smile, leaning her head against the window. The evening twilight has already settled outside. “I’m joining that festival too. And we’ll be hanging out in LA for a few days for rehearsals and then shipping out. So absolutely, we can hang out. I miss your face. And Duke. God, I miss Duke.”
He laughs. Of course she emphasizes her longing for his dog over him. But he wouldn’t have it any other way. “I really can’t wait to see you.” It falls from his lips in a whisper, a secret between the two of them that no one else can be in on. But the boys see it. Everytime his phone buzzes he does his best to look at it as soon as he can just in case it’s her. It’s harder to get out of bed, especially when he hasn’t talked to her in a while. “Can’t wait to kiss you again.”
“You’re a sap, you know.”
“But I’m your sap.”
She giggles, softly, watching cars whizz by. “Yeah, you are my sap.”

Her tour starts off well. And even though it’s her first time being out on the road like this, a constant bouncing around, and completely flipping her normal routine, she manages to cope pretty well. And it helps of course when she calls her friends, or talks to her dog. But it’s still definitely draining, pouring every bit of herself out on stage and then having just enough time to recoup before doing it all over again. There’s value in it, when the lights lift, and she can see the crowd that’s gathered just for her. It’s surreal and makes her feel like she could do this all the time. That the only thing she’d ever need is the sound of a crowd singing her songs back to her.
In her dressing room, she swaps the gold earrings for a pair of acrylic ones, these jade green. “You’re too quiet on me,” she says, flicking her gaze down to her tablet.
Calum picks his head up. “It’s hard to say much when perfection’s staring you in the face.”
She grins, hooking the earring back on. “Thank you, but that’s not what I meant.”
“We just got word about two more festivals in the same week you have your break. One’s in LA still, the other one’s a little ways out.” There’s no need to fake the funk anymore, or hide it away. She has another three weeks of shows before her break. And maybe he expects her to fly off the handle. Maybe he expects her to throw a fit, about how they had made plans, and it’s the only time they’ll get for each other for months.
But she doesn’t. She nods, fingers twirling over her rings. “What are they others saying?”
“They’re itching to get back on stage. And from a business standpoint, it’s money in the pocket of course. But I know we made plans and I feel like an ass. But there’s also the band, too.”
“Our jobs aren’t easy,” she sighs. “Take the gigs.” Calum can see her eyes tearing up just a little. “Mind if tag along on the LA show?”
“Of course not. I’m really, really sorry, buttercup. I’m so sorry.”
She waves her hand, trying to keep the tears back. If they fall, they become real. It’s his job. Just like it’s hers. “I get it.” It’s tight as it leaves her throat. And it takes her a second, plus a few sips of water to get control of her emotions, and clear out all the tears that threaten to fall. He wishes he could say more, or do more. But it’s like the words die in his throat. And he’s left, mouth gaping, wishing and wanting, but unable to do anything.
“Does it look bad if I just forgo my heels tonight from the start? They’re killing my feet on stage,” she laughs.
It’s a small grin, upturns a corner of his mouth but doesn’t keep it up for long. “You usually end up kicking them off anyway, halfway through the show.”
“Someone’s been scrolling through my name on Twitter, huh?”
He does. Watching her is mesmerizing and he’s sad that he can’t get the chance to see it in person, so he resorts to the fan videos. But he’s yet to admit to it. “I do not do such a thing.” And there’s giggles. A fit of laughter as she looks over the outfits and plucks her oversize denim jacket and figures even in the shorts, she can make the docs Calum surprised her with work. So she slides into the worn red leather shoes and starts lacing them up.
Calum whistles, heart racing just a little. He didn’t know those shoes had made the cut. “Look at you.”
She strikes a pose but laughs. “Do I look good?”
“You look fucking amazing, buttercup.”
__________________________
The sound of the crowd roaring before her ears turn on will always make her heart race. Calum said he would try to sneak side stage, but considering that he had to play on the mainstage right after her set on the side stage, it might not be for long. She didn’t mind that. But she hadn’t seen him. Not a blond crop in sight, of course if he hasn’t changed his hair since the last time. Her bassist strums the opening cord and it sends the crowd into a tizzy. With her guitar strapped around, she rolls out her neck, lining up.
As they walk out onto the stage, they launch right into the first song. She feels her fingers buzzing as she strums. But it feels good. The LA sun is hot but she kind of welcomes it versus the heat of the stage lights. There’s still a small breeze. It comes in waves for sure and she can tell that her pits are going to be soaked by song three. “How’s everybody doing?” she shouts into the mic.
There’s cheer in response and she laughs, hearing it reverb for just a moment. “That’s what I like to hear. Just want to say thank you for coming to see me play today. Your support truly means a lot to me.”
She continues on for just a few more seconds and right as she goes to introduce the fourth song of her set, everyone in the crowd starts to get rowdy. She thinks nothing of it, as the song starts. But she knows something is happening and she turns to check her drummer and in her spin, there’s Calum, her bassist’s bass slung over his shoulder, fingers sliding over the frets, plucking at the strings. Not that she doesn’t think Calum would go for a mint green bass on his own, but she hasn’t seen one in his collection just yet.
If it weren’t for the verse coming back up, she knows she would just stare. Singing into her mic, she throws a few glances over to him. Waiting as the harmony comes in and Calum slides up to the music, voice smooth in her inner ears, she almost melts right there on the spot. She hadn’t quite thought about the way his voice would sound with hers, but god, he harmonizes like an angel. She finishes the verse, with a small break before the chorus again. The stage is kind of small but while facing the crowd, she can’t quite see to her sides.
She knows though. She can almost sense when Calum approaches her. She giggles just a little into the mic, watching him smile at her. His head bobbing like it always does when he gets into whatever he’s playing or listening too. Calum plays next to her, watching the way the sweat trails down her forehead, but doesn’t streak an ounce of her makeup. He almost gives in, almost bends in to kiss her on the cheek, but he doesn’t. He lets her voice and the song carry him away, into his spin and up to the drummer’s stand. One foot on the riser, Calum bobs along, laughing at his expression, the raised eyebrow that says it all.
She gets a small break to watch the way Calum interacts with her band. Almost as if he’s known them just as long as she has. And in some ways, he probably has. She talks about Calum to them and talks about her band to Calum all the time.  Once the song ends, Calum throws one hand in a tiny wave, before smiling over at her. “Didn’t scare you, did I?” he asks, away from the mic.
She shakes her head, sure that her cheeks will hurt after this. Laughing, she thanks Calum as he walks off stage. And she knows, she knows she shouldn’t. But she jogs after him, as her bassist comes back on, sending a smile over her shoulder too. It’s in that moment that it becomes clear, this was planned. Catching Calum right in the wings, she catches his wrist, tugging him in close before kissing him. It’s quick, but Calum’s heart races in his chest. She runs back out. “Sorry about that guys. I did not expect that.”
And as they get back to their set, Calum watches her for one more song, the way she dances around the stage. Their gazes lock just before he leaves and he blows a quick kiss, before his security are running him down the stage steps and across the festival grounds to get back to the mainstage in time. “How’d it go?” Michael asks.
“Well,” Calum grins, throwing his brown and black bass over his shoulder.
“Get any smooches?” Luke teases, smacking his lips together, while his arm is slung over Sierra’s shoulder.
“And if I did?”
“On stage?” Michael screeches.
“No, side stage. I almost kissed her on stage. But I didn’t want that all over the internet.” Considering that they aren’t official publically in any capacity, it would just cause more headache. Their set begins and Calum knows she has to run across the festival, so he’s not worried when by the time they step out and get three songs in, she hasn’t shown up at the side of the stage. And by the time, Calum regains consciousness enough to check again, there she is, standing off to the side, still in what she performed and breathing hard but she waves, gently from the side.
Out of reflex, once the chords are played, he gives a small wave in return. She returns the blown kiss from earlier and the other girls laugh softly at the action. “God, you guys are so fucking smitten with each other, it’s insane,” Sierra jokes.
There’s no denying it she knows. They’re like lovesick puppies and though it would normally annoy her, it’s nice. Without another word, she sips at her bottle of water and watches Calum, with all the laughs and grins he gives, pouring his soul out onto the stage.
And though the video calls, and the calls, work. They’re not quite enough. Her tour comes to an end, but just around the corner is Calum’s tour with the band. She think she might be able to sneak another week away before she starts working on her album, but then she gets asked to perform at some more festivals in her home country. And, who is she to turn that down? The more shows she plays, the more her name is out there, the more streams, and the merchandise is purchased. It becomes an endless wheel. Things just keep going, and going, and going and the whole time, she keeps looking for the breaks. For the thing that can put her life on pause and let her feel normal again.
Everytime she thinks she can get real time with Calum, it ends up short. He has something that comes up. She has something that comes in. It was the festival in LA and now her festival run. It’s his tour and her sophomore album. Why had she met Calum when she did? Was the universe playing a cruel joke on her? Was it taunting her that it could give her everything she wanted and then threatening to have it crumble? Sitting her hotel room, her phone shakes, another call from Calum. She doesn’t answer it, staring at the fridge in her room. She could get a drink. Wouldn’t be hard just take it from the mini fridge.
Her phone stops shaking. And then a minute later, it chimes, letting her know that a voice message has been left behind. The third one and more likely than not it’s from Calum. She wants this. She wants the relationship, but lately, it felt like there was no time. There was no time for anything. She couldn’t breathe. She couldn’t pause. And that’s all she wanted. That’s all she wants right now. She doesn’t want to open that voicemail to Calum pleading with her to answer. She wants to get back to when things were easier. And obviously, they were easier because they both had nothing to do.
Swiping her room key and her wallet, she heads down to the bar in the hotel. She orders herself a glass of wine. The glass makes a soft click as it settles down in front of her. She takes one sip. And it’s a little bitter, the red drier than she remembers it being. Soon the glass stares back at her and she can see her warped reflection. Would it just be easier for them to take things down a level? Is she afraid of hard work or more afraid of heartache?
With another two glasses of wine in her, she climbs back into the elevator and it takes her up, floor by floor until it digs and the doors slide open. The room is dark when she reenters like she left it the AC blasting. But she can see the blue light of her phone, on the desk, lighting up that corner of the room. Is it fair? If she wants to bolt, if she wants to cut ties so it makes things so much easier for them? Why couldn’t it be easy?
Calum’s sure he’s going to pull all his hair out. One moment, things are going good. They get a little tight for sure with their schedules never quite lining up to allow them more time together. But this is the third day in a row that he’s gone with nothing from her. No texts, not a returned call. Not even a meme in their Twitter thread. Nothing on her finsta. Her regular account post mainly about her upcoming shows. But he is as closed to being blocked without actually being blocked.
“Hey, I-I don’t know if something’s gone wrong. But please, please call me back. Or text me. Or send me a voice message. Something. Anything. Please? If I did anything, please let know what it was? I’m worried. Am I losing you?”
He ends the recording and sends it. Maybe he ought to stop reaching out so much. Should he wait for her to respond before sending more? But he doesn’t want to lose her? He doesn’t want to lose what they have. He hasn’t found it with anyone else in all his searching and even in his not searching. This fell into his lap and he can’t stand to lose it. Not when there had to be something to do to save it.
His phone sits for another day and half before she calls. He hands shake as he goes to answer it. He almost doesn’t want to answer it. His vegetable stir fry even threatens to come back up his throat. It’s not even burnt this time. But somewhere in his mind, somewhere deep, he had figured she wouldn’t ever call him back. He would be cursed to always wonder what went wrong. “Hey,” he breathes as he answers the call.
“Hey.” It’s croaky, like she might’ve been crying. And then it’s silent. Neither one of them are sure how to bring it up. Neither of them know how to ask what’s lingering between the two of them seems almost too much for words.
“Did I do something?”
“No,” she sighs. It would be easier if he had. It would be easier if she had. It would be easier if both of them were just bad for each other. “It’s just hard.”
“Talk to me. Let me in. We can figure it out.”
That’s the whole crux of her issue. She had let Calum in. She had let him so far in that it was starting to seem impossible to stay in her country and work. She had let him so far in that she wasn’t sure it would be possible to go months without seeing him properly. He was in everything, her bookshelves, her closet, her studio, her lyrics, her studio, in her sheets. Everything reminded her of him. And it just hurt in a way that she didn’t think being in love could hurt. In her silence, Calum continues on, “Let me look at something.” He scrolls through the emails, looking at the dates.
“How? How do we figure it out? On your tour, the only break you have in my country I’m in promo. And after that, you only get a day here or there. Everything’s so mismatched now.”
Calum blinks the tears that are stinging at his lower lash line. “Something’s gonna give.” Something has to give. There has to be something. Calum goes back to emails. What would be the magic code for them?
“I just don’t know what to do anymore.”
His throat jumps at her words, heart racing. “No, don’t say that. If you say that, I know what comes next.”
“Maybe it would just be easier, Calum.”
He is sick of it. Sick of things always blowing up in his face. But he can’t make her do something. He can’t make her take the words back, even if he wants her too. “We said there was an us.” It’s not accusorary as it falls from his lips. It just hurts. Things were going so well for so long, until time proved herself the ultimate judge yet again. “So what now?” The walls of his house start to push in closer on him.
“I’m not saying I never wanted more for us. I’m not saying that I want to cut you completely out of my life, Calum. I wanted so much more for us.”
“Me too. I want more for us.”
“Is now a good time though? Is now going to allow us more?”
Calum wants to laugh, it bubbles in his chest and he knows it’s delivery would be dry but he swallows it back down. “If you’re always waiting for the perfect moment, you’ll be waiting for a long time.”
“Maybe there’s a better time for us. Not a perfect one. Just a better one.”
“Maybe,” he whispers.
“You know, you’re in everything right? When you said to let you in, I couldn’t help but think that was my problem. You’re in my goddamn sheets. You’re in everything. When the sun rises, it’s like watching you smile. If you think I’m shutting you out, that I’m trying to save myself, I want you to know that I’m doing the exact opposite. I am drowning. In everything. In you. In whatever the fuck it means to be a musician. I am drowning and I can’t bear taking you down with me.”
He couldn’t possibly be in everything, not when she was in everything for him. In his journals, in the strings of his bass. When he sits down at a piano, he can’t help but think of the throaty notes that start the song she wrote about him. He can’t help but hear her voice, Brown irises and black tattoos. Maybe they were both drowning and couldn’t see anything but the water invading their own nostrils and lungs. “You’ll always be there,” Calum says, sniffling. The tears shock him, he hadn’t felt them until they’re running down his neck. He doesn’t even know where there is, but he feels it in the cavity of his chest.

That video is going to haunt him. And it’ll haunt her too. Whenever they see the videos and pictures of when Calum surprised her on stage it always shows just how fucking happy they were with each other. How things really were working for them. But right around the corner, right as she runs behind the edge of the stage, the world doesn’t see the kiss. They don’t see the tears that followed phone calls. They don’t see how schedules always seems to be running in parallel but never fucking intersectiong. That’s all they needed. Just one point to intersect, to meet again at, and maybe they would still be tagging each other in stupid memes. Maybe they would still be talking until crazy hours of the morning. Maybe they would still be writing small poems about each other and always posting them, but never saying who they were about.
Maybe if they just had the one chance to intersect again, her second album wouldn’t be about him. Maybe she could’ve talked about the way the clouds surf in the sky. Maybe she would have pondered the questions of existence without it being tied up in lost love. Maybe Calum would’ve had more to say in interviews. Maybe then, no one would ask him about his love life and it wouldn’t hurt to goddamn bad every time one of the other boys would jump in to save him. Maybe Calum wouldn’t feel like a rock sinking to the bottom of the river and seeing the sunlight just above him, but never having the willpower to push back up.
He hadn’t removed her number. Hadn’t unfollowed her on her finsta. Hadn’t blocked her on a goddamn platform. Because somehow that felt like a harsher step. Like a permanent close, like he was trying to erase who she was and what she had meant to him. It’s stupid, he knows. It’s insane and it’s not helping him in the slightest, but he can’t bring himself to do it. Maybe part of it was that natural and sometimes detrimental curiosity if that person was suffering just like you. He wanted to know if she bled just like him, if her pain was just as vicious as his.
Calum watches the video loop back again. The way she bites her lower lip but runs after him. The crowd is still screaming. They are still cheering. They are still buzzing. After saving the tweet, he drafts a message to her: I know you’ve moved to New York. I hope you’re enjoying it. City makes you feel anonymous doesn’t it? I have two days off during this tour. Maybe we have our better time now? I’m sure by now you know all the best places in town for pizza. I could be down for some cheesy delights.
Should he send that? His fingers shake. What’s left for them after a year and a half? They’ve still supported each other. He retweets about all her singles and videos. She praises the band’s new music in interviews. They aren’t unknown to each other. But somehow they feel like two ghosts. There’s a glass wall between and they look at each other just in passing. They never touch. They never intersect again. Instead, he exits the messaging app, but doesn’t actually delete the words.
When he goes back to the message thread, about a week from their dates in New York, there’s no shock that the app hasn’t saved it. And he feels partially relieved. He exits the app again and goes back to his mindless scroll through Instagram. An app saved him this time.
There is nothing to save him though, when he walks into the green room and spies her shrugging a coat on. The New York mornings are a little cool to the start. His heart is now in his throat. He’s not sure if he should swallow it back down. “We can go,” Ashton says quietly, taking him back his arm gently.
And somehow, like her ears are tuned in on everything, she hears something like her name, something like a soft wisp of a voice. When she looks up and sees Calum, donned in all black, though his long lined jacket has some white stitching and embroidery, she’s sure she could melt into the floor. He still looks good. Still has the same quiet pout to his face that makes him look slightly less approachable but it changes in a heartbeat when he smiles. She grabs the strap to her bookbag purse.
She knows it was her that ended things. She knows that seeing Calum here in front of her, should make her feel embarrassed. But somehow, all she wants to do, all she’s ever wanted to do since that phone call is embrace him one last time. Tell him that he’s still handsome as ever. Promise him that she meant what she said, that he was and still is in everything. “C’mon. We gotta go,” her security tell her.
But all she can do is stare at Calum. Unzipping her purse, she finds the note, the letter she never had the courage to send him and with a deep breath, she walks over. Ashton looks like he could probably murder her. And she doesn’t blame him. She could never blame that instinct to protect the ones you love especially from the ones that hurt them the most. “I’m sorry,” she says, holding out the white envelope. “For everything. And if we don’t ever get that better time, know I’d only ever wish the best for you.”
Calum’s fingers barely grasp onto the note before she’s sidestepping him. The boys circle around him, like they’re just waiting for his word to pounce. She steps through the heavy glass door. And she’s leaving him again. She’s going to slip through his fingers. Again. Pushing through Luke and Michael, Calum swings open the door. “Wait!” he calls out.
She stops, spinning on her heels to face him again. Calum jogs down the corridor. All the offices have windows. Everyone is probably watching. With both hands cupping her face, letter between his fingers and all, he pulls her in close. “You’re not leaving me again. You’re not going to walk out my life a second time. Not without me putting up a hell of a fight.”
“You shouldn’t fight for me. Not after what I did.”
“Meet me tonight. Let’s actually talk about it. I’ve been holding so much inside and if, god forbid, if it’s not now if we had our shoot and we fucking blew it, at least I’ll know for sure.”
“Does 8 work for you?” She tries so hard not to wrap her hands around his wrist, not to slide it up his forearms and tug herself into his chest. And god, he still smells the same. Old Spice and Gain. It feels so right to press herself into his chest.
“Yeah,” he mumbles into the top of her head. It’s still the same scent as before in almost two years, he can’t even believe it.
She takes a step back, patting at her pockets and pulls out a pen. Pulling the envelope from his fingers, she scribbles down a name and address. “If this place is too far from your hotel, just call me.” He watches her, jotting down more numbers. “It’s my new US number.” While handing the infor back to him, she grins just a little. “Don’t lose it now.”
Calum laughs, remembering the first time she delivered that line to him. “I won’t. Promise.”
Dear Calum,
There’s no real way to say this that doesn’t make my chest feel like it’s been punched  in. I shouldn’t have let you go. There was a way to make it all work. There was a way so that you and I could’ve pushed through. I was just too scared of things going too right, going too well. Maybe that sounds dumb. Or maybe that sounds insane. But the truth of the matter, I messed up. I’m sorry. And you don’t have to ever forgive me. You deserve the ability to move on. You deserve everything good that comes to you in the future. I want you to be happy. Even if it’s not with me. Even if our better time has passed.
You deserve to be happy.
Calum reads over the letter again. Still not sure how his lungs are still operating because he was positive all the air had been exhaled. It’s the fourth time he’s read it today. Since he had Michael read it out to him in the green room. He would’ve asked Ashton, but knew that Ashton would’ve told him not to worry, to keep moving forward. Because he had, in a way. He had thrown himself into music. He had tried to chase after her in other people. He had read all the books on poetry, and love, and philosophy. But something down in his gut told him that he would never let her go again if he got a second chance with her.
He looks at the date. She wrote it six months after everything went south. Maybe she forgot to send it. It had his name on it--just never fully addressed out though. She could’ve messaged him. Emailed. Called. Literally anything and he would’ve answered. But hadn’t she? What held her back? And just as he goes to read it over one more time, the door chimes open. He looks at his phone. Just as the time ticks over to 8. And when he glances over his shoulder, there she is. In the same jacket from before.
The little pizza shop isn’t too loud. Most people come in just to get their few slices and then dip right back out. She smiles, waving just a little before sliding onto the stool next to him. She points to the letter, that he hasn’t even moved to put up, “Sorry it’s not my best work. I thought about finding a synonym for happy but nothing fit right.”
With a breathy chuckle, Calum folds the letter up, slipping it into his pocket. “What do you recommend off the menu?”
“God, with this place, anything.”
They settle back down on the stools, paper plates not fully supporting the extra large slices and a stack of napkins between them. The grease runs down his chin and Calum feels it rolling too. But his hands are full trying to keep his slice from falling. She laughs, dabbing at his face with a napkin. “I still see you’re the messiest eater around.”
“Hey, hey, it’s not my fault,” he grins. Their giggles dissipate as the bell chimes again, a signal of another patron entering. “What happened?” The question doesn’t feel full enough, doesn’t feel like it fully encapsulates all the confusion he holds. But yet, those are the only words he has.
“A lot started happening all at once. Your tour, my second album. More shows. It just-I felt like I couldn’t breathe. That I wasn’t a person. And maybe part of it was selfish. Maybe I was trying to save myself all along and I was just telling myself and you that I wasn’t selfish. I really am sorry. Like, if I had known, god if I had known that doing that would’ve caused all the pain it did, trust me, I wouldn’t have. If I could go back and tell myself, that crazy shit happens and you just gotta learn how to keep your cool, I’d do it in a heartbeat. It was a mistake letting you go. But at the same time, reaching out felt wrong too. Like I would’ve been ruining the peace you had created for yourself. And I didn’t want to do that either.”
“You know, I felt like we had something different. Like that was really going to be it for me and I had finally figured out this whole being in love thing. That I wouldn’t have to worry about anything. And maybe that was my mistake. Maybe I saw something happening and didn’t do anything.”
“We were living continents away. With everything happening, you weren’t seeing all of it. No need to blame yourself.” She takes his hand, slipping her fingers between his, twisting at the silver band around his middle finger. “I do want you to be happy, Calum. I want you to be so happy it just can’t be contained.”
“I was with you.” He squeezes her hand, willing her to look at him and not the street in front of them, through the glass.
“I’m still not in L.A.”
“But you are in the same country as me now and I will take that.”
“You’d still take me back after everything?” When she looks at him, brows furrowed together, Calum knows he’s a goner. He always was with her.
“I would.”
“You’d be crazy.”
“I am already crazy. Because I’m tempted to ask you where you’re staying and if I could stay the night.”
He’s leaned in to her, just a hair. And she leans in too, resting mostly shoulder to shoulder. “You are crazy,” she laughs softly, taking in the reflection of the neon lights on the street. “But maybe I’m also crazy too.”
The night is cool again. Both of their boots scuff the concrete. She doesn’t stay far from the small diner, a ten minute walk really. With fingers threaded through each other, they walk huddled close up the sidewalks. The wind whips across their faces. They dodge piles of trash on the edge of the sidewalks and they keep their heads down so as to not attract a crowd. “How do you like New York? Got to be a huge shock?”
“It most definitely is. I like feeling anonymous here. With so many people around.”
“I know you said you don’t do well with people and New York feels like the opposite of the place you want to. Especially not in the city.”
“I mean, I still don’t do great with people. I’m in the city for the time being. But I have my eye on a few places further out. But after everything, I felt less lonely here. I don’t know. No one cared about who I was. No one cared what the fuck I was doing here. And I liked it better that way. Back home, everyone knew. Everyone looked at me like I was a broken vase. Here, no one gave a shit. It’s move or be moved here. Forced me to come to terms with everything. Forced me to accept everything I was trying to hide.”
“Do you need to go to your hotel? Grab or bag or something?” She asks just before they pass the opening for the subway.
“I have my roomkey. It’s all good. All the interviews were today.”
“As long as you’re sure.”
He gives her hand another squeeze. “I’m sure.” They reach the door to the complex and she digs out her keys, opening the front door. Calum follows her through the second set of doors. The elevator is a little janky as it carries them up, and definitely tiny. In the space, they’re pressed chest to chest. There are a few extra lines around her eyes, he notices and runs the pad of his thumb over the skin. It’s just as soft as it’s always been. She feels so familiar under his touch, yet so new.
It’s not a far ascent and she laughs when he pouts as she pulls away. “Just like four more steps.”
It’s true to word, when they step out of the elevator, her door is directly in front of it. Her keys jingle just a little as she works the lock and pushes into the chipping red paint of the door. Her dog leaps from the couch, greeting her and then barking just a little when they spot Calum. He laughs, kneeling to hug them to his chest. “You still remember me, huh?” he laughs, as they attempt to lick his face and jaw. “Oh, too long, I know. Sorry, bubs. Didn’t forget about you.”
She takes his jacket, hanging it by the door. “Want anything to drink?”
Calum shakes his head from her couch, working at his shoes. “No, I’m good, thank you.”
She nods, watching as her dog claims Calum’s attention. But she can’t find an ounce of herself to be mad or annoyed. So she slips out of her shoes and puts them up, before getting herself a bottle of water. When she settles onto the couch, she just laughs at the antics. Calum keeps trying to say something but at every twist, her dog is right there, plopping themselves in his lap. Calum eventually gives up and wraps his arms around their body, scratching lightly at their fur.
“Someone missed you too,” she teases, putting her two fingers really close together. “Just a tiny bit.”
His laughter echoes in her head. “Yeah, clearly just a little.” He lifts his head just a little when he feels the wet tongue at his chin. “So, you’re working on your third album?”
“On and off,” she admits. “Playing more shows than anything for the time being. I don’t have to think. Everytime I think too much I end up fucking something up. So I’m just taking it easy for the time being. Taking some brand deals.”
“You’ve got a collab coming out soon, right?”
She nods at the question, laughing as her dog finally settles down. “Yeah, next month. I’ve always lived kind of a boring life, you know that.”
“There’s a lot I don’t know.” He can finally shift, as her dog wanders over to the water bowl, so that he can sit in front of her. It’s a dangerous game. He’s played it before with her. But he takes her chin into his hands. “We haven’t really talked in a while.”
“Is there something you want to say, Calum?”
“Yeah,” he returns simply. Her breath hitches, eyes searching his brown ones for something, anything that tells her what’s going on. “I wonder if your lips still feel the same. I always thought about the way you’d laugh sometimes into a kiss. And it used to haunt me. But right now, I want to find out if anything else has changed.”
She wastes no time, pushing up and sealing her mouth around his. His hand slides to the back of her neck and she pulls at the collar of his shirt. They fall into each other, then falling into the arm of the couch. She exhales her laughter, still pecking at Calum’s lip. Her fingers tease the skin of his upper chest and neck.
“I was right,” he grins.
She hooks her finger around the gold plate. “I guess you were.” She pulls him back in for another kiss, slipping her hands into his hair.
As his lips trail over her jaw and down to her neck, she thinks about the time at her apartment back home, Calum woke her up with kisses down her jaw. They still feel the same. Maybe even a little bit better. His finger push up the hem of her shirt, squeezing at the flesh of her side. She sighs and Calum groans at the sound. It sets off everything in his body when he hears her quiet noises of pleasure.
“Is this okay?” he asks, pulling away to look at her as his fingers brush over her skin. “I don’t want to push you or take things too fast this time.”
Being with Calum feels like no time has past, if she’s honest. She doesn’t have the butterflies, just the comfort of someone she’s known for a year. And it sort of feels like they’re picking back up from where they left off. “I’m okay with it.”
He grins and she sees it--that rising sun in the gleam. His forehead rests against her. “I kinda feel like we have a lot of lost time to make up for.” His lips brush just over hers as he speaks.
She exhales her laughter again, but agrees. “Just a little bit. I really am sorry.”
“We all make mistakes. You just have to communicate with me, okay? That’s all. Talk to me this time. If you feel like you’re drowning, let me help. Please.”
She pushes up and Calum settles back down into the cushion, taking her hands into his. “I know things won’t be like, perfect now. But I guess, it’s really important that we do get to spend quality time together.”
“It is. And I know my tour schedule is pretty packed right now, but there’s another longer break in about three weeks. They’re LA shows. I don’t know if you have plans, but if you do, we can hang out then.”
She has to laugh because here’s the trouble all over again. “Booked recording sessions then.”
“Okay, well, the week after that is the break between legs. What are you doing then?”
“Nothing.” There’s a break between sessions, and she had just planned to use the time to breathe.
“I’ll fly you out then. Just you and I and my rehearsals. But that’s besides the point.”
Laughing, she rests her head into his bicep. “Just you, I, and your rehearsals. Got it.”
“We’ll have to better plan out things, that’s all. We’ll have to look at both our schedules and make sure that there’s sufficient breaks and time together.” He guides her head up. “I want you. And I mean all of you. I can’t stand to lose you again.”
“I just have to make sure Ashton doesn’t kill me.”
“He’s protective, yes. But not an evil. I’ll talk to him. Don’t you worry.”
“He did write a whole song about how he’d bury a body for you. So I think I have a little bit to worry about.”
Calum laughs, shaking his head. “Maybe just a little bit.” Her grin makes him want to bottle it. He wants to carry it with him in his pocket. Leaning closer, he kisses her again. “But right now, it’s just you and I. There’s nothing else but time for us right now.”
She hums. “I like the sound of that.”
Fingers trail back under shirts. She drinks down his moans as they tease, barely touch. Calum’s shirt is discarded in the living room and her is pulled off in the hallway. Calum holds her face in his hands, memorizing the way her teeth sink into his bottom lip in the gentle nip. He moans. Fuck, she feels so good against him.
Her spine shivers as his fingers trail to her back and unsnap the band of her bra. As the fabric falls from her shoulders and she tosses it somewhere, Calum takes a hand just to cup her. His fingers roll the erect bud and she sighs again, mouth falling slack against his. He laughs. “Hmm, that’s right. Someone does like their nipples played with.”
She grins though, blinking open her eyes. “Don’t think I forgot that you don’t listening to rules and like a little pain.”
Finding her waist with both hands, Calum holds her in close. “You wouldn’t dare.”
She bends her knees, just a little and with hot and open mouth kisses she trails down his chest before taking her teeth into the meat of his peck. Calum jolts, a grunt falling over his lips and throat. “I would dare,” she returns.
They fall into her sheets, the same golden ones from before. They’re just as soft against Calum’s skin. It’s warm, as their skin heats up. Her skirt has landed somewhere to the floor and Calum pushes his hips up as she shrugs the denim down. She kisses over his thighs, moaning just a little. Calum lets his eyes flutter close at her soft kisses.
Everything just feels right. Even as Calum takes a nipple into his mouth, tongue teasing her just a little. Or when she kisses over his length. But right now, she tosses her head back when Calum pries her legs open kissing up her inner thighs. “I’ve dreamed of this,” he whispers, watching as she clenches, more of her arousal leaking from her.
She huffs, pulling a hand through her hair. “You sure do know how to make a girl sweat.”
“It’s a speciality,” he laughs with a wink before kissing her clit. She balls on fist around her sheets, stomach completely clenched. The last thing she wants is to have to wait much longer for anything. The anticipation can be a good thing, though she’s doing everything she can to keep her cool. That is, until Calum finally takes the first lap from her and she unravels, a moan leaving her throat as it mixes with a whine.
He takes his time, pushing her thighs and knees to give him all the access he could ever want. Calum licks another stripe over her, before sucking her clit into his mouth. She taste better than he could’ve ever imagined. Every sound she gives--moans, groans, or a whine--rattles in his brain and spurs him on. One of her hands finds it’s way into his hair and she tries to push up with her hips and his face down into her core. But it’s not like he needs the assistance or the reminder. When he trails down to her opening, his nose brushes over her clit and her body is reeling.
“Oh, fuck,” she whines, feeling the coil in her lower gut tightening.
Calum hums at the sounds, and when she praises him, tells him that he’s the only one to make her feel this fucking food, he rewards, slipping a finger into the mix, pushing up into her. “Is that so?” he asks, watching her head dive deeper into the pillows.
“God, Calum,” she huffs.
Another finger finds it way inside, pushing and curling in all the right places. Her body feels like it’s on fire. She feels like she’s a coil so tightly wound she’s going to break. His tongue flicks across her click, lapping at her. And that’s it, that’s the right combination to send her over the edge. Over she goes, with a yelp, her orgasm rocking her frame and toes curling as she cries out for Calum.
He keeps her going, keeps curling his fingers at her. So lost in the way she sounds. And when the huffs turn into a hiss, he pulls back. She beckons him up, kissing him and tasting her own arousal coating his lips and tongue. He’s careful not to settle fully against her, but it’s quickly changed when her legs come up and lock around his waist. “I’m not gonna break,” she laughs, when he finally let’s go and sinks into her.
She swallows his response with a kiss but it doesn’t matter anyway. Her hips come up and Calum rolls onto his back, letting her settle atop him. Her nails rake down his skin and she sucks at his neck, he’s sure it’ll bruise just a little but it’s okay with him. His nails dig into the flesh of her hips, not sure if he wants the friction right now or if he just needed to revel in the feeling of her against him.
“Shit,” he whines when she rocks over him. “I-fuck.”
She laughs, pulling away to reach into her drawer. “That sounds about right.”
Calum delivers a swift swat to her ass at the joke, but laughs anyway. “That is not funny.”
“Then why are you laughing.” When she turns her attention back to him, condom in hand. She stretches down to kiss him again. “Did I ever tell you you’re not the only one that likes a little pain?”
His eyebrows arches and he smooths over her ass before delivering another spank to her opposite cheek. She sighs, eyes fluttering close just a little. “Oh, buttercup, you should’ve never told me that.”
“We can save it for another time? Because right now the only thing I can think about is riding you until the sun rises.”
Kneading at her breast, Calum grins. “Now, that sounds about right.”
There’s a moment, right as she settles down on him fully, that they both moan at the feeling. Calum because of the warmth and slickness, her because of the stretch. Her head is dizzy again with need. She steadies herself with her hands planted on his chest and rocks. All she can focus on is the girth of him, stretching her completely open. It makes her toes tingle and she falters, falling into his chest, but starts a new cadence, pulling up and settling back down on his length.
“Holy shit,” he huffs. She buries her face into the crook of his neck and Calum coaxes her out, to look at him. “You don’t get to hide from me, not again. Wanna see that pretty face when you cum.”
Her hips are still rocking but she nods, eyes fluttering close just for a moment. Calum kisses her, and it’s his turn to swallow down the moan she feeds him. She pushes back up, pulling her own breast between her fingers. Calum loses the top of his head, he’s sure, watching as she rides him. His fingers trail over her hips, up to her stomach. “Why’d you have to be so handsome?” she teases breathy.
He’s not sure how to respond. Unsure of the heat he feels is a blush or the sweltering of arousal flooding his body. She takes one of his hands, trailing it towards her heat. And Calum takes the hint, thumb circling the bundle of nerves. Her head falls back on her neck as a hum builds in her chest. Calum kneads at her right breast, pulling and pushing at every button he can to have orgasm again for him.
A high pitched squeak falls from her. The bed taps against the wall, but neither one of them really cares. Her orgasm washes over it, like a wave crashing into the shoreline. She shudders, clenching around him and falls again into his chest, but pushes up onto her elbows, remember Calum’s early demand. “Fuck,” she whines when he starts to fuck up into her. He pulls her body up and she’s useless, body still like jello from her orgasm. Her words catch in her throat.
“It’s okay,” he whispers into her ear when she bites down onto his shoulder. “You know I like the pain.”
“Feel so good,” she returns. “Calum, shit, you feel so good.” His hips start to stutter, trying to ride out for longer, but knowing that inevitably he’s at the end of his rope. She kisses over his neck. “Cum for me, yeah? Please.”
Who is he to deny her? Who is he she to defy her? He ruts up once, twice, and she clenches hard, taking most of the wind of his third thrust but he cums hard, arms squeezing her to his chest and he knows he’s loud in her ear as he groans. Though, it’s suspected that’s just the sound she wanted to hear as she seals his mouth with hers.
Calum wraps the towel around his waist. She’s already under the cover, with them flipped down for him. She pats the spot in the mattress. He can see some of the hickies covering her chest that he left behind. Without much thought, Calum dries off a bit more and then slips between the sheets. “Hey,” she whispers. “Come here often?”
“My first time actually. But the first of many, I hope.”
Her nose scrunches as Calum taps it. “Yeah, of many. I brought your phone into the room. Put it on my spare charger. And I know that it’ll go off at 5:55 AM. No, you don’t have to turn it off. I know it’s important to you.”
“You--you still remember that?
“I don’t know if you really remember. But when I said that you were in everything, you were everywhere. I meant it.” She turns to her back, the sheets tucked up to her chin. Both of them are bare beneath them.
Calum’s taken up drawing random patterns on her stomach as he holds himself up on his elbow, facing her. “I remember. Could never forget that.”
“Guess we might’ve meant for something more, something better.” Her voice is soft. The blinds in her window let the lights of the city in. Nothing about it is quiet as sirens pass by. Calum lets his head fall into her pillows. She turns, both of them now facing each other again. Her arm slides over his waist. He throws one of his legs over hers.
She’s content like this, where she can kiss across the tattoos on his chest. Though she can’t really see the one just under his peck, she thinks about the question poised there. Why would she choose anything other than Calum? It remains quiet for a while and she thinks he’s fallen asleep until his chest rumbles.
“We were. It was just a matter of getting there. Finding the right path for us.” He’s positive, as she shuffles in a little closer that this is it for him. And if he has to fight hell, heaven, or high water, he’d do it all for her.

Joker One - Shot
Grind on Me
Based on @jokerflecker’s anon ask rollplay that got a little too REAL , I’m sorry if this is a flop. I tried writing it as fast a possible for all you horny clowns and kinda went over board 🥺
A/N: plug in those headphones! I like to add music to fics a lot and find that listening with headphones on while reading really brings in the mood ❣️ well at least for me it does (I don’t do anything without music blaring in my ears) I’m sorry if I made it too musical :/
Summary: Joker has made you sexually frustrated so you end up grinding yourself on his thigh. That’s it really except for the insanely added random stuff😅🖤
Word Count: 3,625
Warnings: Swearing, SMUT
Tumblr media
You’ve never committed a crime in your life. You can even say that now; as you waited in Joker and yours’ shared apartment for him to come home from his daily tasks of being his clown prince self.
You always had followed him blindly after his transformation. You’ve been together for so long now. And you were okay with his new-found confidence. You were okay with him switching the gears in your relationship; he was in charge now, and thank god for that...you were never good at taking the lead anyway. Now don’t get yourself all wrong, you loved Arthur dearly before he changed. It had always made sense when you soothed his laughing attacks before bed, when you gave him a warm soothing bath and kissed his bruises tenderly to make them feel better. You would do it all over again if you had to, even if it meant to go through mountains and valleys, hell and back just to protect him from the cruel world that had ambushed him vigorously day in and day out.
But you didn’t have to anymore. Instead, the tables had turned. It was Joker now that went though hell and back to protect you. Although this time it was to save you from the consequences of his own actions, the actions that you justified each time he added a number to his kill count. He never killed for the fun of it. It was for solid reasons; They deserved it, and he shows you just how much he appreciates you every day for staying by his side. He was only blossoming, and you will blossom with him in your very own way. You’ve become more loose, not caring what others think; Dancing in the rain with your beloved after he had just blown up the bank, splashing your feet in the wet remains and ash that sprinkled down with the cold water droplets that sent chills up your spine, mingling with the adrenaline you were both high on. And you have never felt more alive.
And that’s exactly what you did in this very moment..
( Listen To: Just the Two of Us - Grover Washington )
The radio trumpeted throughout the flat. Joker would be home soon and what better way to celebrate than lighting a cigarette and letting your head boom so loud you couldn’t even think straight? It sounded great to you, as it did everyday since it had become routine. You’ve grown bored most days since you liked to stay home all curled up in just your clown shaped slippers, one of Joker’s sweatshirts and your messy (y/h/c) hair, watching the news in anticipation to possibly see what your Joker has done now.
You smiled mischievously as you lit your cigarette, bobbing your head slightly to the vibrational thumps of melody that traveled from the floorboards up to your legs.
Just the two of us
Building castles in the sky
Just the two of us
The song certainly didn’t match the gracefulness of your sun dress you decided to wear today, but you danced anyway.
You lifted up your arms above your head with the cigarette in one hand, swaying your body back and forth and singing along, with your head held up high. The twilight sky seeped though the opened window, turning your living room into a lush blue hue, illuminating your already light blue floral adornment while darkening the rest of the flat into darker shades of purple contours.
You boogied and let yourself free, your body finding its way to each corner of the flat. You kept your eyes closed for the most part, letting yourself feel the strains and chords of the day, melting into a simple bliss of song. You moved your fragile, elegant body in ways that would be hard for anyone to keep their eyes off of; especially Joker, since he was already silently watching you from the doorway that led straight to the living area. You kept going, completely oblivious to his presence that had been muffled to the unnecessary loud music that seemed like it could shake the whole damn building.
He moved his forearm against the opened door frame, getting himself more comfortable as he watched you in complete amusement. This was clearly a routine for him too. He enjoyed nothing more than coming home and catching you in the act at your most tasteful state. He was infatuated by the way you’ve changed, with your afresh freedom that he created for you. For the both of you.
He started to tap his foot, his green oceans flicking back and forth as to follow your every move. His red painted lips turned upwards into a wicked smirk, nodding his head with chuckles escaping his throat.
“And darling when the morning comes
And I see the morning sun
I wanna be the one with you”
Joker sang out loud to you. You wiped your body around to find him leaned lazily against the door frame. Pure excitement boiled up your spine to the site of his return as you smiled broadly. Joker’s eyes twinkled to your contagious, beaming grin, causing his smile to grow even wider. You lifted your arms outward with your cigarettes still in your hand as you sung back:
“We can make it just the two of us!”
The saxophone that played in the song had begun as Joker swayed his way over to you, graceful in his bouncing steps, pulling his hands in front of his face in a silly attempt to fake-play the instrument. He kept going in a desperate plead to make you laugh until he was up close to you. And oh did it work. You couldn’t get enough of his absurdity. You laughed audibly over the fading out music, flicking your cigarette to the ash tray by the table that laid next to you so you could stretch out your open arms for a well needed embrace.
“There’s that laugh” Joker cracked out lovingly.
He reached in for your welcoming embrace and held you for what felt like forever. The only sounds now just being the radio talk show host:
“And there you have it folks. Our next song here will get that fog out of your brains. We are all disheartened from all the terrible riots that have been happening all over here in Gotham. So wind down, grab a glass of wine, and kick back to this one..”
(Listen To: Come and Get Your Love - Redbone)
“I’ve missed you” you breathed as you clung to his red suit.
“Shhh, I fucking love this song”
“Wha—“
“Shh” he hissed again “dance with me love”
You complied with a over dramatic eye roll along with a smirk as Joker grabbed your hips and gently started to move your body along with his own. He didn’t even give you any time to take in more of his scent or even be greeted with his usual array of kisses that he leaves all over your face and chest. Once there was music involved, no matter where or what time of day, Joker was clearly unable to contain himself from boogieing down and giving his full attention to anything else. You didn’t care however...actually, you fucking loved it. Nothing was hotter to you than watching him dance. Music or no music. It didn’t matter. His moves would never look as good on anyone else but himself. It sent you in a trance and always sent sparks of butterflies up your core. Actually, it was even more hot when he dances up against you; especially to music like this that forced the both of you to rub up against each other, other than the usual slow dancing and floor dips. Dancing to songs like this made you desire more of him. His confidence dripping off like pure honey, drizzling off the spoon.
Joker spun you around so your back was flush against his chest. He crossed your arms in front of your own chest and kept hold of your forearms as he moved his own hips back and forth, grinding against you. His unruly green locks bounced against the back of his shoulders enticingly. You followed along matching his rhythm, leaning your head back slightly so you can look up at his authentic, painted features. A smile plastered on your face as Joker leaned down and kissed the front of your exposed neck. You both continued to dance back and forth.
The bass that reverberated the entire building enveloped the moans that cracked out of your throat when he forced his tongue out to lap at the sensitive skin. Joker didn’t have to hear it to know what he was doing to you. He actually smirked against the pulsing point of your throat as it quickened. He could also feel the vibrations from your throat too as you whimpered.
“Heeyy“ He sung against your neck, you could feel his hot breath as his face nuzzled against you.
“Heeyy” you replied for the next verse. You both kept your eyes closed, both very aware of each other’s giddy, foolish smiles.
You gasped internally as Joker brought his mouth up to your ear, tucking a strand behind it as he spoke:
“I know what this does to you. I can feel your legs trembling”
“Then do something about it.” you teased back, making sure to keep the innocence in your voice as you spoke softly, though you couldn’t hide the shudder that ran through your body to his words.
Joker hummed in response. Your bodies just kept moving in a silent game of who can make the other give in first. It was Joker’s turn as he let go of your crossed arms and slid his rough hands down the seem of your dress, stopping at the front of your hips and grabbing down. Your breath hinged, cursing internally to yourself for telling him long ago that this was your sensitive spot.
Your heat was starting to drip to the inside of your thighs, you swallowed hard in anticipation of realizing it was now your turn. But before you could even think of what to do to get him going, the music ended.
“That’s alright” you thought to yourself. “I don’t need music to win”.
Apparently you did as you realized Joker had let go of you now. You stayed facing away from him for a few seconds as the talk show host invaded the silence that resided the room. You turned around to meet his gaze which you thought was right behind you, but instead watched as he was actually over in the kitchen area, pouring 2 glasses a wine for the both of you.
“Hey! That’s not fair! It was my turn!”
He seemed to ignore your clamor but held a small, smug grin which didn’t seem so small with that exaggerating, red stained smile. He made his way over with the 2 wine glasses, passing one over to you. You snatched it out of his hands, waiting for an explanation on leaving you this flustered.
“Your turn for what darling? I can’t dance all night. And besides..” he paused to reach down to the coffee table, grabbing his cigarette and lighting it. “That radio guy was really making me crave some wine”
Your lips parted slightly in bewilderment. Joker on the other hand took a long drag off his cigarette, looking deep into your dilated pupils. He was eating up all of your sweet reactions, it was such a drug to him, watching you be a writhing, flustered mess. You were completely unaware of the fact that this was still Joker’s turn. And he was winning. You never stood a chance and deep down you knew better.
You didn’t move and kept your eyes locked on him as he gave you a half chuckle. He held his cigarette with his mouth while he walked passed you to get to the tv, switching it on before making his way back to the couch. You turned to get out of his way but stayed standing still with the wine glass in your hand. You were feeling rather speechless on what to do or say next. Joker sat down gently on the couch as to not spill his brim-filled beverage. He kept his legs spread out and reached out his arms to the back of the couch lazily. He stared at you for a moment again, so you crossed your arms childishly and formed your lips into a pout.
“Yes?” You asked.
“I can’t see the T.V doll, could you move for me?”
His words stung straight to your chest. You were still completely unaware of his little game, prudishly under his control and he knew it. This was only making him radiate even more confidence. You stepped out of his way and stood to the side. You held your glass of wine with both hands, as if suddenly forgetting how to properly hold it due to how unnerved you were still feeling. You were extremely frustrated with the arousal you were still experiencing. It had all stopped so abruptly and all you craved in this moment was his hands on your soft skin again. Your skin tingled from being especially touch starved in this moment.
Your frustrations got the best of you as you failed to notice Joker’s enlarged pupils boaring into your innocent form. He was clearly satisfied with himself for thoroughly throwing you off. He was in control now. Your thoughts were finally interrupted as Joker cleared his throat. You snapped your head up to look him in the face, causing him to grin widely at seeing your flushed cheeks. You waited for him to speak but instead watched as he placed his already half drunken wine glass gently down on the side table, then using that now free hand to pat on his lap.
“Come”
He didn’t even need to say anything for you to know he wanted you to straddle him while he watched T.V. It had also become a routine for you and Joker’s down time. You sighed, ultimately giving up and walking over to him with a sheepish, tired smile painted on your lips. You sucked down most of your wine before taking your place on his lap. He didn’t move a muscle as you tried to get yourself comfortable, though it was hard seeing how, for some reason, he wasn’t closing his legs enough for you to be able to saddle him with one leg on each side of him. You didn’t think much of it though, you got comfy anyways by placing one leg on each side of just one of his legs, then lying down your head against his red suited chest to close your eyes and let the wine lull you into a dizzy nap.
You were struggling however, you couldn’t stop thinking about Joker’s hands on you just minutes ago. You felt slightly ashamed by how wet you were still getting underneath your sundress. You needed some friction more than ever right now. So you slowly started to move your hips against his thigh, oh so carefully as to not get him to notice. You acted it out as if you were just repositioning yourself.
Joker smirked wickedly as he kept his eyes to the T.V. , he had the news on which played a segment about himself. Though it wasn’t the purpose for his smug smirk - he knew exactly what you were doing. You had fell right into his trap, just how he wanted it..
“It’s okay darling, go ahead, rub yourself on me” his voice cracked a little
Blood rushed to your ears from his words. Your head snapped up drastically as you looked into his eyes, which flicked casually from the T.V to meet yours. You could see his dilated pupils now.
Was this his plan all along?
Joker watched as your rosy cheeks turned into a deeper red, flushing down all the way to your breasts. His gaze dipped down until stopping at your heaving chest. He swallowed trying to rewet his mouth, then licked the button of his lip before bringing his thigh up just gently enough to reach your heat, causing you to twitch slightly.
“Come on, don’t be shy now”
His words mixed with his relaxed posture was driving you crazy. Juices were soaking your panties at this point as butterflies continued to dance in your veins. You’ve never rubbed yourself against your Joker’s thigh before, so you complied timidly, steadying yourself first by placing your hands gently on his broad shoulders. You positioned and grounded your swollen bud on the right spot, instantly feeling the warmth that took shelter under his pant leg. You were a little too embarrassed to look him in the eyes yet, so you curled your back forwards slightly to give yourself room to rest your head into the crook of his neck. You could feel his pulse point quicken as you began to move yourself back and forth. Once you leaned down under his chin, Joker lifted his head slightly to give himself room to place his cigarette between his lips without interrupting you. His cigarette hung loosely from his mouth while his hands found their way back to the backs of the couch.
His eyes stayed locked to the T.V as you continued to grind on him; He wasn’t watching it however. His eyes stayed locked in on the reflection of the television, observing each and every motion of how you got off on him. How your (y/h/c) hair fell messily around your shoulders, down your back as you moved yourself on him.
Your breathe was getting more and more rigid as you continued. You were already feeling the tightness build up in your abdomen and your breath started to turn into whines that muffled themselves into his suit. You twisted your arm around the back of his neck more to get a better angle, you needed as much friction as possible. You were starting to get really close to your release. And Joker could tell because you finally brought your head up to face him. He his eyes caught yours in a heavy glare. Your flushed face watched him. He still acted almost careless but you could tell it was still his game since his eclipsed, barley visible green rings around the pupil of his eyes gave it away. His stare alone was enough for you to come undone.
Joker’s cigarette still stayed loosely between his thin red lips but his arms finally made their way off the couch and his hand traveled to your hips. Your maneuvers were becoming way out of sync so he gripped down hard with his calloused hands, moving you rapidly and roughly. His eyes flicked back and forth casually, multiple times until eventually resting where your blue floral trim met with your silky skin. The skirt of your dress had risen quite a bit from Joker’s hands. His head tilted just slightly enough to get a better look at how your juices were visible on this part of your thigh, shimmering from the dim light of the living room. You finally heard a low grumble accumulate in his throat. And your left knee could now feel the bulge that started to take over his pants.
This was enough for you now. You couldn’t take anymore as you threw your whole being into Joker’s loose embrace, sending out a loud cry as waves of your orgasm washed over your trembling frame. Joker let go of your hips, now just ghosting his hands over them to let you ride out your climax. You grabbed fistfuls of his red suit in your hands. Your legs shook violently around him until you could catch your breath. You were calming down but you were still a writhing mess. Joker didn’t move yet so you slowly brought your head up. His eyes looked at you for just a second before taking the last drag of the stub of a cigarette that still poked out of his mouth. He took one hand and discarding it in the ashtray next to him on the side table. He leaned his attention back to you, now looking straight down right on his suite to see all the drool you had left on it. His eyes then traveled to the bottom of your skirt again that displayed delicately to cover all your cum faultlessly. Your eyes darted all around him desperately waiting for any kind of reaction from him. Anything
“Lift up that pretty little dress of yours and show me the mess you’ve made” his voice came out hoarse and flat. Almost unamused
You obeyed, but you couldn’t tell what game he was playing now. Was he really unimpressed with you pleasing yourself on him for the first time ever? Did you really do that bad of a job? Was the way you did it unattractive? You internally nodded your head no, since you still could feel his hardened cock against your knee. He was obviously pleased.
With one last hesitating look, you slowly hiked up your skirt; you were wearing white panties but when Joker’s eyes fell on your mess, he saw how you have came so much that your thong was completely soaked, and see through. The white fabric clung to your pussy, defining your glistening folds. Joker swallowed hard and you could almost hear his heart beating faster in his chest. He let a few rigid breaths before letting out a small series of throaty chuckles. He lifted his head back up to you and you were caught off guard by a charming, wide smile:
“I win..”

euphoria // vampire!jungkook
pairing: vampire!jeon jeongguk x human!reader summary: you’re scared of vampires - until one saves your life one night. word count: 1988 + 1808 +

Tumblr media
The next few days are mostly uneventful.
Taehyung visits and shamelessly beats your ass at Mario Kart when he steals Seokjin's DS, only to have his older brother return and beat his ass in an act of revenge.  Taehyung begs for rematches, and the amount of times Seokjin wins is alarming.  That day, you learn that your roommate is surprisingly competitive when it comes to Mario, games, and Mario-related games.
You also meet up with college student Kim Namjoon, who has kindly volunteered to tutor you in math.  In the span of your one hour-long session, Namjoon manages to misplace both his wallet and his phone while rambling on about trigonometry and Greek mathematician/philosophers.  Thankfully, he finds both in the cafe booth you've been studying at.  You bear him no offense, but you're glad for the distraction your new friend's disastrous luck and tendency to babble offers you, if only for a short while.
Even though he tries not to show it in front of you, you can tell that Seokjin is still suspicious about what happened - or rather, didn't happen - the other night.  You shut your own worries down, telling yourself firmly he's better off not knowing.  If he found out that you met a vampire, he'd flip out and pitch a fit, or have a heart attack.  Perhaps he'd do both, and proceed to lock you in your room and never let you out without him being by your side.  He's never been good with horror films, but again, neither have you.
The next time you find yourself alone, it’s night-time again.  All your friends are busy – most of your friends from school are already asleep or being insomniac gremlins; Taehyung is doing some last-minute studying for a test the next day; you're not desperate enough to contact Namjoon, and not familiar enough with him either; and surprisingly enough, Jin is on a date.  Despite your initial irritation at him ditching your movie night, you’re happy for him – he needs to get out more, and his good looks deserve much better than to go to waste with him being a bachelor for the rest of his life.
You sigh as you attempt to brush out the tangles in your damp hair, envying Seokjin’s effortless beauty.  No matter what he does, he's flat out gorgeous, and he knows it, even if nobody else notices.  But you? You're not exactly society's image of 'drop dead gorgeous'.  All your previous relationships have gone to shït, even though you will admit that it was not your fault.  You glare at your reflection, and the girl in the fogged-up mirror glares right back at you.
You turn around, sick of looking at your messy, knotted hair – and scream.
There’s a boy.  In your bathroom.  A boy with dazzling blue eyes and gleaming white canines, a boy that doesn’t appear in the mirror.  A boy that clearly can't be human, no matter how much his other features almost lull you into a false sense of security.
He grins.  “Hi.”
Did I mention the boy is in your bathroom? Had he arrived a few minutes earlier, you would've been naked.
You scream again, right in his face.  It’s the bloodsucker from several nights ago! You quiver upon realizing that his fangs are even sharper up close. He cute though, the voice in your head supplies helpfully.  It's not wrong. He winces, immediately clamping a hand over your mouth.  His skin is cold, cold as ice, whereas you are warm, face flushed with terror and mild embarrassment. Enclosing you in his arms, he carefully pulls you away from the mirror, setting you down on your bed.  Your eyes are wide, brain frozen in fear, body unable to move of your own free will. You seem a little less scared of him than he is of you as he pulls his hand away from your face, but reflexively presses a finger against your lips to shut off another scream from you.  You go cross-eyed at the contact.  Is he trying to kill you, or flirt with you?
Boys are confusing, you decide.
“Sorry if I scared you,” he says quietly, almost bashfully, “I keep forgetting I’m not a human anymore.” If he were human, he’d probably be blushing, but he’s not, and his face is pale, without any sign of a flush.  He looks a little paler than he should be, but that’s it.  He carefully sits down beside you, leaving a large gap in the middle.
“Thanks for calling me cute, though,” he says, incredibly forward but somehow even shyer than before (and shït, Y/N, you realize belatedly, he’s not supposed to be this cute! He’s dead!).  He doesn’t meet your eyes.  “You’re not too bad yourself.”
You finally gain control of your tongue (and your brain).  “I don’t mean to be rude, but who the fück are you and what the fück are you doing in my house?”
You know it’s probably unwise to swear at an undead being who could drain you dry of blood and life in less than a minute, but right now you’re too angry, scared (and honestly a little turned on) to care about that.  Besides, the vampire boy doesn’t really look like he could hurt you. “I’m Jeon Jeongguk, and I’m a vampire. I won’t hurt you; I swear.” You narrow your eyes.  The primal instinct inside your head still screams at you to run, even as you see how he looks a little lonely, a little sad.   “You’re still scared of me, aren’t you?” You nod, and he pouts.  Eyebrows knitted together, he closes his eyes in intent focus, and you watch in fascination as his fangs retract into his gums to reveal normal human teeth.  “Again, I’m really sorry for scaring you the other day.”
He cracks a wry smile.  “I’m not me when I’m hungry.”
To your surprise, a giggle escapes your throat.  “You’re a vampire.  How do you know about Snickers?”
He looks wounded.  “Why wouldn’t I know about Snickers? I'm not too big a fan myself, but I still know about them.” He sighs.  “Believe it or not, I was human too.”
You resist the urge to hug the stranger upon hearing the sadness in his tone, instead just softly patting his arm.  “How old are you?” You blurt curiously.  The question’s been on your mind for a while.  He looks young, not much older than you are.  But how old is he really?
Jeongguk pouts.  “I hate it when people ask me that. I’m so shït at counting.” He tries anyway, counting with his fingers and looking confused.  “I was turned a year ago? I was twenty-one, but I haven’t physically aged since then. So, does that make me twenty-two, or am I still twenty-one? Am I supposed the years I’ve been alive for? But I should be biologically dead, because my heart’s not beating anymore and I'm fueled by blood and magic-”
He stops and sniffs the air.  “Actually, I think your roommate’s back.” He closes his eyes, sniffs a little more and promptly looks disgusted.  “He doesn’t seem very happy.”
You cock your head. “Emotions have scents,” he explains, “irritation and self-deprecation smell the worst.” He wrinkles his nose with a small pout.  “Werewolves can distinguish scents better, though.  They're like dogs, especially near the full moon.”
You coo inwardly at the pouty look on his face, and jump when you hear Seokjin's key twisting in the lock.  Your room is further away from the door than Jin's, and if Jeongguk can smell Seokjin from here he must have one hell of a nose.  Briefly, you're tempted to pull out some garlic bread.
“Well, that's my cue to leave.” Jeongguk smiles so brightly you're a little dazed.  He looks like a bunny - adorable - and it's so cute that you're squealing and dying on the inside at the same time. “Bye!”
That said, he jumps out the window.
You almost scream and throw yourself out after him, only to remember he's a vampire with far better reflexes than you.  You see him downstairs, a blur of black in the shadows.  He stops and waves goodbye, like an energetic puppy of sorts.  With a light blush on your face, you wave back.
You flinch away from the window as the door creaks and swings open, hearing a disheartened looking Seokjin stomping in. You hope he doesn’t notice the lingering blush on your cheeks.  You'd feel bad if you snagged a cutie and he didn't, after trying for so much longer than you have.
“I take it that the date didn’t go too well?” You ask, testing the waters as you walk out to greet him.  An angry and heartbroken Seokjin is never a good Seokjin to deal with.
Seokjin mumbles something unintelligible, and you hum to get him to clarify.
Seokjin throws himself onto the couch.  “She ditched. She didn’t even call, or text! I waited for an hour.  Alone. In the dark.” He sniffs, pouting.  “These dates are so stupid. I feel so stupid.  Why do I even bother anymore?”
You sit down beside him, patting his shoulder reassuringly.  “Oh, darling.” He’s a little older than you, but he’s used to your fond nicknames.  “You’ll find the perfect one for you soon enough.”
He huffs. “You say that every time,” he retorts bitterly. “Well, maybe you’ll find someone who appreciates you.” He sighs heavily, barely giving you time to move your arm before he flops backwards dramatically, almost boneless.  “I hope so too, Y/N.”
Seokjin switches on the tv, mindlessly flipping through the channels.
“Still up for movie night?” You suggest.
Your roommate nods gratefully.  “Hell yeah.”
You take the remote from him, laughing.  “Good, because I’m picking the movie.”
He groans dramatically.  “Oh, what a nightmare.”
You move to flick his forehead, but he ducks out of the way.  “Just for that comment, we’re watching Twilight.  Now get the chips.”
He obliges, albeit grudgingly.  Neither of you are big fans of the vampire movie franchise - or the books, for that matter - but your sassy jabs at the characters never fail to make Seokjin feel better.
You won't tell him about your ulterior motives - after a vampire named Jeon Jeongguk barreled into your life, you've never related to Bella Swan so much.

A/N: Hope you all enjoy this next part! Sorry it’s taken a little longer than usual, I’ve been pretty busy at work.
Warning(s): None! Well, more pining, but hey, y’all asked for this.
Part 1
Part 2 here we go!!!
That night, you went to Sloan’s for pizza and a movie. Since you lived on campus as part of your scholarship, you tended to hang out at Sloan and Andrew’s apartment once classes were over and homework was done. You had a room to yourself, but it wasn’t spacious, so the three of you normally were at their shabby, typical New York apartment with little space and even less furniture.
“So, what should we watch?” you wondered as you plopped down on the couch.
“How about Bohemian Rhapsody?” Sloan suggested, wiggling her eyebrows at you. “Y’know, so you can really see Gwilym in action?”
Andrew groaned. “Come on, Sloan, we’ve teased her enough.”
“What?” she shot back. “They were really connecting.”
“Connecting?” you questioned. “We barely said two words to each other.”
You had neglected to tell them about running into your substitute in the library. You were keeping that moment to yourself. It felt like something private, even though it was perfectly innocent. You wanted to keep it in your heart. For now, at least.
“All that eye contact,” Sloan continued. “It was like Edward and Bella in there.”
“If it was like Edward and Bella, he’s more likely to murder me than anything,” you retorted.
“Edward doesn’t kill Bella!” she argued.
“He turns her into a vampire!” Andrew pointed out. “That’s the same thing!”
“No it isn’t!”
“Yes it is!”
“Okay, Jacob!”
“Guys!” you interjected. “If we talk anymore about Twilight, I’m going to kill myself. Let’s just pick a movie.”
“I still vote for Bohemian Rhapsody,” Sloan said. “Y/N should see at least one thing our new professor is in.”
“I think we should watch a classic,” Andrew replied. “I haven’t watched Casablanca in a while.”
“One vote for Bohemian Rhapsody, one vote for Casablanca,” she said, then looked at you. “Would you like to cast a vote, or add a contender?”
You thought for a moment, but you already knew what you were going to pick. You just wanted to give Andrew the illusion of having a chance. You tapped your chin with your forefinger.
“I’m gonna go with…” you paused. “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
“Oh, come on!” Andrew mock complained. Then he smiled. “Alright, I’m gonna order the pizza.”
“We’ll start the movie,” Sloan assured him.
As she picked up the remote, you considered telling her about the library. You weren’t sure why Sloan should be allowed this information and not Andrew, but you’d noticed he had sort of drifted from you while you were dating Daniel. Now that you and Daniel were broken up, Andrew was friendlier than before even. It made you a little confused. And the distance really hurt you.
But you looked at Sloan and thought about what she had said so far. You didn’t think she would tease you about the library, but she also would likely turn it into something it wasn’t. She had a tendency to gas you up for things that were hardly ever a big deal in reality. So you decided not to tell her. The moment would remain just yours. And Gwilym’s, of course.
The movie began, with the pizza arriving about half an hour in. You wouldn’t call yourself a huge Queen fan, but you liked their hits. You admired the movie’s aesthetic, but you especially admired Gwilym’s performance. He looked so cool with the curly hair and the seventies clothes. It was rather unlike the man you’d met earlier that day. Not that Gwilym didn’t look cool, he just wasn’t as glam. At least, not on that level.
When the movie finished after the Live Aid scene, you had gotten a little emotional. You wiped your burning eyes and sniffled.
“So, what’d you think?” Sloan asked, switching the television off.
“It was good,” you choked out.
“Oh my God, Y/N, you’re such a sap,” Andrew joked.
“Shut up!” you returned. “I just have feelings. There’s nothing wrong with that!”
He laughed. “Nah, I guess you’re right.”
You stretched out on the couch, nudging his thigh playfully with your toe as you giggled and yawned. He smiled back at you.
“I’m beat,” you sighed. “I think I’ll head back to my dorm.”
“You know you’re always welcome to stay here,” Andrew said.
“I know,” you replied. “But I don’t like to intrude. Plus, your couch is lumpy.”
“You could take my bed,” he offered.
Something about the way he didn’t look at you when he said it rubbed you the wrong way. If Andrew had feelings for you, you wished he would either say it or get over it, but not say things like that to leave you wondering. You knew it could never be that way between you, so you hoped for the latter.
“I’d rather be in my own bed,” you said, keeping your tone light.
You got off the couch and stretched again. As you put your backpack on, you thanked them for the pizza and then bid them goodnight.
Sloan closed the door behind you and looked at her roommate.
“Could you be any more obvious?” she said. She continued by doing her best Andrew impression. “Stay here, sleep in my bed, suck my dick.”
“Oh, fuck off,” he returned, disappearing in to his room.
You headed back to campus, which was only a few blocks away, your mind racing. Everything from your chance library meeting with Gwilym to whatever the hell had gotten into Andrew was swirling around in your mind.
As you passed the coffee shop closest to campus - frequented by mostly students and faculty, you spotted Gwilym though the window. You watched him as he pored over the book you had recommended, sipping his drink with something of a refined air about him. The temptation to go in and say hello was overwhelming. You were just so drawn to him for some reason. But you decided against it, remembering the way Sloan had compared you both to the cringiest couple perhaps ever written. Showing up suddenly at the coffee shop after one earlier chance meeting seemed very stalker or Edward Cullen-ish. Even if it was genuinely a coincidence. With a sigh, you moved along.
Gwilym lifted his eyes from the page he was reading and looked around. He felt as if there was someone he knew nearby, but as his eyes scanned the room, he saw only strangers. Movement by the window made him look out, but he missed who or whatever it was that created the motion. He blinked in that direction, his mind drawing up - for some reason - an image of you standing there.
Something resembling disappointment crossed over his heart, but he pushed it down. He didn’t need to be wishing to see you anywhere outside of class. His phone ringing brought a welcome distraction.
“Hello?” he said, picking it up.
“Gwilym, hi!” chirped the voice of Dr. Bennett. “I just wanted to check on you and see how the first day went.”
“You’ve just given birth, and you’re worried about me?” he returned. “Emily, that’s ridiculous.”
“Don’t scold me, Gwil,” she answered lightly. “How’d the class go?”
“If you must know, it went just fine,” he told her. “I’ve been introduced to everyone. You have a very talented class there.”
“Excited as I am to have my son, I am a bit bummed I won’t get to teach them,” she agreed. “But, I’ve left them in very capable hands. I’m glad it’s going smoothly.”
“It really is,” he said.
“What do you think of Y/N?” she asked.
His chest tightened.
“She seems like a lovely girl,” he said stiffly.
“She’s a real star,” she went on.
“I haven’t heard her sing yet, but from the way you and Dr. Curtis talk, I feel I should have a handkerchief on me or something.”
She laughed. “She’ll impress you I’m sure. Be careful there.”
He paused, wanting to know more about what she meant. It was an odd thing to say about a student. Was she joking? Was she giving him some warning about who you were? Were you not what you seemed? He wanted answers, but decided to ignore it entirely. That was the best way to deal with something like this, in his opinion.
“How are you and the baby?” Gwilym asked, desperate to change the subject.
“Perfect, so far,” she said. “Just ready to get home.”
“I’m sure.”
“Hey, Gwil,” she said.
“Yeah?”
“Please keep me updated on everything,” she requested. “I’ll come and see the show at the end of the semester, but I want to know how everything comes together.”
“Will do,” he promised.
“Thanks,” she said warmly.
“You get some rest now,” he said.
“Will do,” she replied, and he heard the smile in her voice.
They said goodbye and hung up. Gwilym’s mind still reeled with her warning. Be careful there. Be careful of what, exactly? Perhaps it was better if he never knew.
On Thursday, you showed up to class early, as usual. The auditorium was empty except for Gwilym. Your heart rate quickened as you approached him.
“Morning,” you said brightly.
He turned his head and smiled at you. “Hello, Y/N. You’re early.”
“I’m always early,” you said with a shrug. “How’s the book?”
“I’m only three chapters in, but it is interesting,” he replied. “Fond as I am of Shakespeare’s plays, it’s his poetry that really gets me.”
“Oh, really?” you wondered.
He nodded. “Yes. Poetry and songs I think are the most intimate forms of writing. The authors put their feelings out and wrap them up in beautiful language. And somehow, that makes others feel it. As if it were their own. If that makes any sense.”
You pondered his words a moment. You thought of every time you’d sung in your car at the top of your lungs, the words of a song just punching you right in the heart.
“It makes sense,” you said. “I didn’t realize you were so into that stuff.”
“There’s a lot about me that may surprise you, Y/N,” he said.
You met his gaze, searching for the meaning behind that. He cut his eyes away before you did, clearing his throat.
“Would you like to get started?” he asked. “We can begin with your solo, ‘The Boy Next Door’.”
“Sounds good,” you agreed. “Want me to sing acapella or play piano?”
“You sing, I’ll accompany you,” he returned.
“You play piano?” you questioned. “You certainly are full of surprises.”
The teasing tone felt a bit unfamiliar to you. Were you flirting with him? If you were, was it wrong?
“I play piano, but not very well,” he replied humbly. “I can play a simple tune like this.”
You smiled as you both took the stage, you stopping in the center and he taking a seat on the piano bench. You waited for his cue, and then when he began, you opened your mouth and began to sing.
“The moment I saw him smile
I knew he was just my style
My only regret is we’ve never met
Though I dream of him all the while
But he doesn’t know I exist
No matter how I may persist
So it’s clear to see, there’s no hope for me
Though I live at fifty-one-thirty-”
Gwilym missed a note on the piano and stopped, bringing you to a halt as well. You shot him a questioning look.
“Sorry,” he said. “I’m not good enough to turn the pages on time.”
“Oh, is that all?” you teased. “Here, I’ll stand next to the piano and turn the pages for you.”
“I’m very much obliged,” he returned.
You walked over and stood to the side, looking expectantly at him.
“From ‘so it’s clear,’” he told you.
“So it’s clear to see, there’s no hope for me
Though I live at fifty-one-thirty-five Kensington Avenue-”
You turned the page.
“And he lives at fifty-one-thirty three.
How can I ignore the boy next door
I love him more than I can say
Doesn’t try to please me
Doesn’t even tease me
And he never sees me glance his way…”
You stole a glance at Gwilym as you held  this note. His face was screwed up in concentration as his eyes followed the music. His hands, which were large and smooth, moved gracefully. His long fingers pressed the keys with ease. He looked very handsome.
“And though I’m heart sore, the boy next door
Affection for me won’t display
I just adore him
So I can’t ignore him
The boy next door…”
You held the note and came off of it slowly and softly. Gwilym did the same with his final note. As the song closed, you looked at each other. A moment of softness passed between your gazes. Gwilym was beginning to understand his friend’s warning. You were so...charming.
“That was very good,” he said.
“Thank you,” you said sweetly.
“I’m impressed you knew all the words,” he remarked.
“I’ve been a fan of the movie since I was little,” you told him. “I literally wanted to be Judy Garland.”
“Well, you don’t have very far to go,” he said. “Although, I believe Y/N Y/L/N is perfect just as she is. You don’t have to be Judy Garland.”
Heat came to your cheeks.
“Thank you,” you said again, looking at the floor.
You paused, searching for something to say in return, some compliment to pay him.
“The piano playing was -”
“Please, Y/N, let’s not go there,” he said, a smile pulling at his lips. “My piano playing is absolute shit.”
He held his breath as the words left his mouth, fearful you might take offense to the language or feel he was getting too comfortable. When you clapped your hand over your mouth to stifle the most adorable giggle he’d ever heard, he was relieved.
“It wasn’t shit!” you protested. “Really, it wasn’t!”
“I appreciate you trying to bolster me, but the most redeeming part was playing through your page turn, which was executed flawlessly.”
You laughed some more.
“Well, I am known around here for my page turning skills,” you joked.
“I have a feeling you’ll be known for many things, Y/N,” he said. “Including turning pages for barely capable pianists.”
Your smile lingered on your lips as your classmates began entering the theater. Sloan eyed you questioningly as he saw how close you were standing to Gwilym. When had you drifted that way? You hadn’t felt yourself move.
Tucking your hair behind your ear, you stepped away, back toward center stage. Gwilym got to his feet and followed you, turning to address the other students.
“Welcome back, everyone,” he said.
He took roll quickly before getting into rehearsal. He and Lily were working on their early scene in the wagon. You watched him ease her into comfort with him. She was six, just like her character, Tootie, and though not shy, did need to warm up to people. Sloan’s sister took a seat in the audience, and you saw her soften as she looked on as well.
“Isn’t that sweet?” you said to Sloan as she approached you.
She looked over at Gwilym going back and forth with her niece.
“Precious,” she said flatly. “You and Gwilym seemed pretty cozy.”
You rolled your eyes, but knew you still looked flushed.
“Oh, please,” you said. “We were just practicing.”
“Y/N, look at me,” she said with uncharacteristic seriousness.
You did.
“I know we’re joking about how hot he is and all that, but it’s not smart to think any further than that,” she said. “He’s a professor - at least right now - and both of you could get into trouble.”
Defensiveness surged through you.
“You’re talking about it like we’ve been sleeping together or something,” you said, harsher than you meant to. “You’re the one who’s been making the jokes. Nothing’s happened, so spare me the lecture.”
“Y/N, I’m just trying to be a friend,” she said.
“Look, it’s perfectly normal to connect with a teacher,” you returned. “It’s nothing more than that.”
She looked you over, skepticism coming over her sharp features.
“If you say so, Y/N,” she said with a sigh. “But, for the record, I’ve never seen you look at anyone the way you were looking at him when we walked in. Ever.”
She walked away, leaving you stricken where you stood.

vampire barry hcs.
@gazebros and i put together our collective genius again and created some self indulgent vampire hcs for our Babey.
Tumblr media
after barry leaves the army, he's greeted by fuches.
a very old and very rude vampire who's never quite adapted to modern life as well as he thinks he has.
he turns barry himself, so that barry will have to do what he says. sire bond, and all that.
twilight wasn't lying about the excruciating pain stuff.
barry actually is pretty chill with being a vampire.
he's forgotten a lot of his time as a human, so he doesn't have much to compare it to.
he thinks it's cool that he doesn't have to sleep as much, and he can sleep for actual weeks at a time if he wants to.
the sunlight thing is a bummer.
he doesn't die, or anything, and he's usually okay if it's cloudy, but staying out too long in direct sunlight kinda hurts.
he's okay, apart from the whole, uh, blood sucking part.
he's okay with doing it to survive, but then he finds out what fuches really wants from him.
to kill for the sake of killing.
to get people out of the way.
and he has no choice.
he joins the acting class, he supposes, as an escape.
he hates how easy it is for him to kill.
he hates his own strength.
he's put his foot through the floor more than once while running down the stairs, late to class.
he's torn off the door and broken quite a few light switches, tearing them out of the ceiling.
he hates that he can sink his teeth into a human's throat as easily as if it were butter.
he hates that draining the life from someone is as effortless as it is. second nature.
he needs to be around humans, he finds.
he needs to remember that there's a reason for him being here.
not just to kill.
to live
and experience
and create a new life separate from the one he's forgotten so much about.
and in the acting class, he meets you.
and you're so wonderful.
you make him feel like he's alive.
his heart doesn't beat any longer, but he seems to forget about all that when he's with you.
and apparently, the thing about vampires being hopeless romantics is not a myth, because he falls for you so hard.
it doesn't take you long to figure out he's a vampire, either.
it was small things, really.
he was cold. and sometimes he didn't move for like... a solid hour.
also, um, his complete lack of reflection threw you.
but you were too far in love with him for it to bother you.
"so, were you waiting for me to ask you about your obvious vampirism?"
"huh?"
"barry, you're dead."
"oh. yeah. will you be my girlfriend, by the way?"
"fuck yeah."
the first time he kisses you, he ends up pushing you through the drywall of his apartment.
"holy shit, are you okay?"
"yeah, yeah, fine, i'm just... inside the wall."
"sorry."
"you're a good kisser."
you forget he's a vampire, sometimes.
when he's coming to stay at your house, and you go inside to make coffee or whatever, and notice that he hasn't come in with you.
he's just standing on the doorstep.
all polite and stuff.
just waiting.
in the rain.
"bear?"
"hm?"
"what are you-- oh!"
"yeah, you gotta invite me in."
"shit, sorry. come in."
"it's chill. wanna watch zack galifianakis?"
and then you spend the whole night debunking vampire myths.
it's 3am, and barry is ok because he doesn't need sleep for another few days.
you're sprawled on your bed, and he's running his fingers through your hair, and you're just staring up at him with The Biggest Heart Eyes.
and he knows he would do anything for you.
the human girl he fell in love with.
"your eyes are so beautiful."
that kinda stops him in his tracks.
"are they? i don't know what they look like."
"wait, you- don't you remember?"
"my human life is kinda... fuzzy? like trying to see through dirty water. and it's been about seven years since i've seen my own face. fuches burned all the pictures of me, all my records. took me off the grid."
and you lost your absolute Shit™
because that's fucked up.
because barry is the most beautiful man you've ever seen and he doesn't know what he looks like.
"they're blue. like, the softest blue. and kinda grey, too. and sometimes... when you laugh... you get these little eye crinkles-"
"im in love with you."
"that's the first time you've said that to me, barry."
"well, i am."
barry doesnt care much for how he looks, but he loves the way you describe him. so he lets you continue.
"your hair is brown. really... fluffy looking. i just want to touch it all the time, you really make shit hard for me."
he grins
"and my lips?"
"oh... soft."
"mhm."
and he kisses you so slow and soft and Your Heart Falls Out Of Your Ass.
barry is cold. he doesn't have blood. so. he's cold.
but he does feel it sometimes.
and there's not much he can do about it when he does.
"hi, i can't come to work today because my boyfriend doesn't generate body heat and hasn't slept in two weeks so i need to warm him up."
vampires don't sleep, my ass.
he's always falling asleep on your chest, or with his head in your lap listening to you talk about your day.
he can go without it for a long time, but he loves waking up next to you. he also just loves watching you sleep. listening to your breathing and your heartbeat. the rush of blood.
let's be real, sometimes he finds it hard to not, like, drink your blood.
but one feed and he's good for a couple weeks.
let's address the elephant in the room.
the sex thing.
y'all watch twilight and you're laughing because edward won't have sex with bella.
and barry completely has a straight face.
"no dude i could literally kill you."
"yeah, uh, that's never once stopped you."
breaking the bed Every Other Night.
his heightened senses and vampire awareness means he's So Good at sex.
his attitude to changing you is so relaxed.
he's kinda like. "yeah. if it happens, it happens. you get to be my girlfriend literally forever. that's pretty rad."
"so if you go at it too hard and snap my spine just change me quick."
neck kisses are his Thing.
they're so fucking hot.
vampire neck kisses? that's the dream.
barry can't eat garlic. it makes him sick.
apparently, he gives ZERO FUCKS.
he eats some of your homemade garlic bread and you spend half the night sat on the bathroom floor with him patting his back while he throws it up.
"barry, you stupid bitch."
he tried to drink animal blood once, too.
and again, he threw up.
"babe, i don't care if it's ethical, it's fucking disgusting."
he's always riled up when he comes home from a hit.
you can't be mad at him, because you know he doesn't have a choice.
it's considerably harder and more dangerous trying to calm down a vampire, though, so sometimes you sit there while he smashes things, and wait for him to finish so he can come and cry on you.
the circumstances under which he changes you are not pleasant.
fuches finds out about you. he finds out where barry has been hiding, and he beats you within an inch of your life.
and barry finds you in your apartment and he knows what happened.
you're beaten and broken and bloodied on the ground and he has to stop breathing because he can smell you and he could drain you right there if he doesn't watch himself.
and he's never been bothered about changing you but now it's happening.
now he's faced with your imminent death and he could very well lose you and he freezes up.
your eyes meet his frantically but he's not sure if you know he's there.
he presses a kiss to the corner of your mouth, and he can taste the blood, and it almost pushes him over the edge.
he dips his head down to your neck, and the rush of blood he's become accustomed to is so much weaker.
your breathing is shallow.
"im sorry."
he knows this will hurt.
and it does. he has to take you somewhere, quick. because you scream until the screams don't sound like screams anymore.
he takes you to the same place fuches took him when he turned. it's a bunker, far enough away from anyone to rouse suspicion.
and he holds you to him while you writhe in pain and beg for him to kill you as the venom changes every cell in your body.
he can't do anything about it.
at some point, he doesn't know when,
you stop screaming.
you stop moving and breathing and he's worried that it hasn't worked.
that he's done it wrong.
but the change is visible.
your features are the same, but different.
your skin is as smooth as marble and almost as cold.
the way you move and speak and hold yourself is different.
but you're still you.
and you're alive.
and he kisses the remaining life from you as soon as you sit up.
"hello."
"hey, bear. that fuches guy is a bastard."
"i know."
"no, he really ripped into me."
"i know."
"thanks for not letting me die."
"no problem."
"i love you."
"i love you too."
though barry only has eight years of experience, it's still eight more than you have.
but you adapt to vampire life very easily.
somehow, you find your feet faster than he did.
"i think we should invest in a space heater."
"mhhm."
now that barry doesn't need to hold back, you have to retire to remote cabins for days at a time to fuck. because you don't get tired easily and you're very loud.
desks and walls and bedframes being literally obliterated.
really
at one point the bed falls through the floor
with the two of you on it
and you don't fucking notice.
you keep pretending to move countries to throw fuches off your trail.
it's kinda fun, setting up elaborate scent traps and making him think you're somewhere in europe when you've not actually left the state.
everyone at the acting class begins to wonder why the two of you look so good, but also so washed out.
"they're vampires, im telling you."
"shut the fuck up, man, what if they can hear us?"
y'all are so extra. drinking blood out of capri sun pouches and going out in the sun in huge sunhats and clout goggles.
going as stereotypical cloaked vampires for halloween and spending hours freaking people out in the hall of mirrors.
soft vampire love, guys.
y'all have napped for literal weeks at a time. just holding each other.
you just love each other so much.
let vampires be SOFT.
because you are.
barry just holds your face and looks at you. he's never going to be able to get over how fucking ethereal you are, even his heightened vampire sight can't take it in
"do you think that we're going to be this in love forever?"
"yeah."
"how are you sure?"
"because i can't function without you."

Heartbeats - A Dabi/Reader fic
You walk down the alleyway to your bar, Haven, keys jingling in your hand. Your music is blaring through your headphones, and your head bops along with it. You open the door with a click, and you walk into the dark, empty bar, and start dancing as you switch on the lights. You begin your routine, sweeping and mopping the floors, and then slam down the stools and chairs in a practiced dance, each step in perfect rhythm. At about 12, your cook, Machi Takeda, walks in. You wave at her, and hand her the breakfast you bought for her. "Hey, Machi-chan! Iwasabi is coming back today, so make sure to have our ramen stock up." She grabs the breakfast package and smiles back. "Will do, (y/n)-chan! Do you have the supplies we bought for Iwasabi-san?" She spends a few hours cooking up the food you offer, and by five pm, the doors open.
Business picks up slowly, and your first few people are the villains, as usual. Greeting them all with a smile, you sling cups of booze down your bar, and one of your regulars, Iwasabi, settles in front of you with a sigh. You pour him his drink, and set it in front of him. "Got out of jail quickly this time, eh?" He looks up at you with a raised eyebrow. "Yeah, somebody posted bail." You pretend to look surprised. "What a coincidence! Also, Matsui gave me this for you." You pull out a box of baby supplies from under the bar, and handed it to Iwasabi, who stared down at the box in disbelief. "Yeah, yeah. He was the one who arrested you and all that, but it was in order to get the money for this. And you know how it is, can't be too friendly outside of here." Iwasabi blinked up at you, his fingers elongating randomly, the only sign of his inward relief. His voice cracked as he began to speak, and he faltered and tried again. "T-thank you. I...we are thankful." You grin down at him as you polish one of the glasses. "Don't mention it. We take care of our own." "Hear, hear!" A slightly drunken patron cries out in agreement, raising his glass in your direction.
You chuckle, and turn back to Iwasabi. "Any food today?" "Yeah, I'll take some ramen." You call his order out to Machi, and within minutes a steaming bowl of ramen is in front of him. He begins to eat, and you walk off to take care of the other patrons. Regulars revolve in and out, heroes and villains alike, and everyone greets each other with a smile. Food and booze and camaraderie fill the bar, and you swirl through the building, grinning and joking with everyone you see. The night is going great, and then trouble hits. You were talking with a hero, Shimmer, about her new job offer and cracking jokes with her, when a new customer, a villain, but barely more than a petty criminal, really, starts getting louder. “Why the hell do we let heroes in here? They get all the space they want, we deserve this bar!” Your grin gets strained, and you quiet. “Excuse me, Masuda-san, it seems I am needed elsewhere.”
You turn and walk over to the villain. His angry voice just gets louder the closer you get. “Every day, we are beaten down, suppressed, killed by these heroes! We deserve a space just for us!” He is getting bigger, wolf-ish teeth sprouting from his jaw. You grab his shoulder. “Sir, I need you to calm down.” He shakes you off and turns to you. “You. Where is the owner? I want to talk to him.” A hushed silence falls over the rest of the bar, and it feels like the building itself holds its breath.
You look at him, unimpressed. He glares down at you, and grabs your jaw with his newly emerged claws. “Did you hear me, bitch? Take off those ugly-ass headphones, and listen to me!” There is a clatter, as several bar stools fall to the ground from patrons jumping to your defense. You chuckle and raise a hand, signaling for them to sit back down. You look up and grab the man’s hand, and rip it off of your jaw. “I am the owner.” He laughs. “You’re the owner? Then tell me, why are there heroes here? They are against us, so why do you let them in?” You glare up at him, grip tightening on his hand. “Here in Haven, there are no villains or heroes. There are patrons, and there are non-patrons. I usually have a three strike rule, but you pushed too far. That means you are now a non-patron.” He stares down at you in disbelief. You smirk, and turn on your battle playlist and grab his empty beer bottle by the neck. “Now, you have ten seconds to leave on your own, or I will… escort you out.” He yells, and lunges at you. You sigh. “Guess it’s the hard way.”
You flip the bottle, and catch it by the neck again, and bash the butt against his head, sending a pulse through the glass, shattering it on contact. He staggers backwards and clutches at his head. “You crazy bitch!” He runs toward you, claws out, and clearly out for your head. The beat of the song moves through you, and your limbs thrum with power. You grin, and slide under him, through his legs. You spring off a soundwave from your foot, and land on his back, tackling him to the ground. He rolls over, and takes a swipe at you, and catches your side. You huff. “Now you’re really pissing me off.” You grit your teeth, and stomp your foot down, releasing a soundwave that knocks him off his feet, and then you lean down and flick his forehead, knocking him out with another small soundwave. You lean back, and notice the blood dripping down your side, and then when you flip off your music, you realize that the bar has started moving again, and Dumbbell drags the man out of the bar, and dumps him a few buildings away. Machi rushes out towards you, hands outstretched and ready to heal. You accept it, and then call out, “Hey, someone arrest that asshole next time you see him. He insulted my headphones.”
The bar bursts out in laughter, and everyone goes about their business. Machi looks down at you in concern. “(y/n)-chan, you have to be more careful. You could’ve gotten really hurt in that fight!” “Ah, it’s fine. Takes a lot to keep me down.” You chuckle, and stand up again. “Still…” Machi holds out a hand. “You should be more careful. I’ll get you some soup, and then you can get back to work.” “Alright, fine.”
You sit down next to Shimmer, and lean into her. The warmth radiated from her shimmering body soothes your aching muscles, an unfortunate side effect of your quirk. You slide right back into the conversation. “So, twilight, are you gonna accept the offer?” She glares at you and pinches your arm. “I hate it when you call me that. But, yeah I am.” She looks you over, hesitantly. “I’m gonna miss it here.” You sigh, and Machi brings over your soup. You slurp it gratefully, the salty broth warming your stomach and boosting your energy. “Well, you will only be a train ride away.” She sighs again, mirroring you. “I suppose you are right. Still…” You gently knock her arm. “You aren’t gonna stop coming to karaoke, right?” She gasps, mock horrified. “I would never!” You laugh, and finish your soup. “I’m gonna get back to work. See ya later, Masuda.”
The rest of the night passes without incident. People file out, and the bar closes at four am. You sweep and mop again, and put the chairs up. Music plays from your headphones, but your energy is gone, and there is no dancing. You lock up, and walk down the alleyway to your apartment. You walk into your apartment, and your cat weaves itself through your legs, meowing plaintively at you. You chuckle and feed him, and spend some time scrolling through your phone. A news alert flashes across the screen. “League of Villains attacks jail, breaks out the dangerous-” You swipe away the notification. Whatever happens with the world is not your business. Your life is the bar, and that’s about it. As you fall asleep, you think about karaoke night with Machi, Masuda, and Okamoto, and the going away present you will have to get Masuda. After you fall asleep, another notification pops up on your phone. “Dabi, from the League of Villains, is in your area. Stay safe and report any sightings immediately.”

His other friends(pt.1 of Corroded)
Basically: an old friend of Legend’s comes back. She’s a bit different.
I saw the SU movie and came up with this random idea. They’ll be a second(or more) part sometime (hopefully) soon.
-<>-<>-<>-<>-
The battle was long, exhausting and worst of all, annoying. The nine of them had to jump, duck, run, dodge, and about a million other things to avoid the Lynel’s arrows and the moblins swords.
“Time!” Wild shouted.
Time nodded and jumped into the air. He swung his sword with all his might and landed in a crouch.
The Lynel collapsed behind him just as Wind stabbed the last moblin. The group was finally able to catch their breath.
“Where’s Legend?” Hyrule asked. He looked a bit worried.
The group looked around, quickly realizing that their companion was indeed out of sight.
There was no chance for anyone to do anything before a dark portal appeared. They all stepped back and readied their weapons. Who knew what could come out?
A faint ringing of a bell reached their ears.
She walked out of the portal with a twisted grin. Her eyes had an insane gleam in them that put everyone on edge.
Her fiery hair was tangled horribly and had dark liquids sticking strands together. No one wanted to think about that. A dead flower was tucked into her hair, it looked similar to the flower that Legend both hated and loved to be around. Her dress was ragged, with cuts, mud, and disturbing red stains all over. That wasn’t even mentioning the haunting zig zags of what looked like black ooze creeping over her. They stretched across her skin like a cracked glass.
There was also the bell. It was large and had a big crack in the side.
Warriors hated that she looked so familiar.
“It seems that all of his friends are here.”
“Who are you talking about? In case you haven't noticed there are many his’s here.” Wind said. He was so done with it all.
“Link, although you all seem to share his name.” She looked at Warriors. He swore he saw a small glint of sadness in her eyes. “I believe he is known as the hero of Legend.”
“What do you want with him?” Time growled.
She tilted her head to the side, the twisted grin remained on her face. “My my my, that’s not how you treat a lady. I’m just an old friend.”
“I’ve never heard Legend mention you before.” Four stated.
The grin faded completely off her face. “He...He hasn’t told you all about me?”
Warriors looked sad while the other seven seemed confused.
“Marin, what happened to you?” Warriors whispered.
She froze. “I remember you. You’re not him, but you are an old ally.”
Warriors stood his ground as she jerkily walked closer.
“Marin, this isn’t you.”
She stopped and glared at the captain. “And how would you know? You’re not him. You don’t know me like him.”
“Please Marin. We fought together, laughed with each other, trusted each other. What happened?”
“I made a deal.” She said simply.
The portal. The black ooze that zig zagged across her skin. The way she moved like a marionette on a string.
“Dark Link. He’s corrupted you.”
“Corrupted? I think you mean he’s given me a chance to return a favor. You know the phrase: An eye for an eye. An island for an island.” She paused. “A dream for a dream.”
“This isn't right.”
She laughed, it was a distorted sound that made the heroes tense. “This isn't right? This isn’t right? I don’t think you have a right to decide what’s right and what isn’t.”
“You-”
“How many did you kill? How many times did you have blood on your hands? You can still see it, can’t you? The blood that will forever stain you.”
“Back off!” Wind yelled. “You don’t know anything!”
“Don’t I? I know everything about you all.”
“Liar!” Wind held himself up tall.
“What would Linebeck think of your behavior?”
Wind stumbled back as if struck.
“I’ve heard the stories. Over and over again.” Her distorted voice was singing to an unheard melody. She walked forward, that bell of hers’ swinging with a threatening ring. “Gee, it’s swell to finally meet his other friends.”
She jumped forward. Her swung in front of her, straight for Wind.
“That’s right I heard the story, don’t really like how it ends. Gee it’s swell to finally meet his other friends.”
The boy rolled under the weapon as Warriors sliced at Marin.
“What did he say about me? What did he say?”
She leaped back, flipping midair and heading feet first for Wild. She kicked his and jumped right back into the air, landing in smooth crouch.
Twilight rushed to Wild while the others surrounded her. She looked completely at ease.
“What did he do without me? What did he do?”
She threw her bell at Four and Sky and launched herself over to grab it as the two fell.
Marin skipped away from the two and swung her bell at Time.
“Did he sing songs without me? What did he sing?”
She turned to Hyrule with a vicious grin. Her bell was held high above her head. “Did you think all this time that I wouldn’t find out about you?”
She slammed the bell down with terrifying force as Hyrule leaped out of the way. A small crater was created from the impact.
“Yeah, that’s right I heard the stories over and over again. Gee it’s swell to finally meet his other friends.”
She danced around each stab, slice, and swing. Smiling like it was some game. Her eyes twinkled with insanity, the once soft brown was now mixed with the horrible black ooze that zig zagged around her skin.
“Who even are you?” Wild shouted.
“Who am I? Who am I? What are you even saying?” Strangely enough, she looked hurt.
“I'm the loser of the game you didn’t know you were playing.” Tears pricked at her eyes. “Let’s play another game, this time I get to win!”
Her bell flashed light as it reflected from the sun.
“Lives on the line. Winner takes all. Ready or not let’s begin!”
This time she was the one swinging and slicing. Her bell was very dangerous and Warriors didn’t her ability to smash bones.
“Oh that’s right I heard the story over and over again.”
Sky swung his whip at her and it wrapped around her arm. She merely smirked and grabbed onto the weapon and threw Sky over at Twilight. They collided with a nasty thud.
“Gee, it's swell to finally beat his other friends.”
Four and Wind tried to double team her, switching in and out, not giving her a chance to attack. At least until she swung her arm and a wave of water burst from the ground and sent them flying.
“Oh that’s right i heard the story, don’t really like how it ends.”
She swung her arm again and surrounded Wild in water. Marin lifted him high above the ground and dropped him. She ignored the loud crack that followed.
“Gee, its swell to finally beat his other.”
She launched herself at Time and swung her bell down viciously. There was a resounding clang as Time blocked her with his shield.
A brief look of surprise came upon her face before being replaced with a cruel smile. She swung again and again and kicked him backwards a few steps before encasing him in water. He fought but she quickly froze the water and left him trapped.
“Other.”
Warriors was pushed and shoved from every direction as Marin vanished from one spot to another. He didn’t cry out when she struck a sickening blow to his head.
“Other…”
She smiled sweetly as she wrapped water around Hyrule. The other’s were incapacitated and she could kill him. Kill the one next in the timeline who had the cursed hero’s soul.
She reached and grabbed Hyrule’s sword from his hands. He couldn’t even fight back.
She aimed the sword right for his heart.
“Friends.”
The sword was thrust towards his heart.
“Marin!” A very familiar voice called.
Marin stopped, just an inch away. “Hello Link.”

Pegasus Boots
(Universe by @linkeduniverse)
Warning: Cursing, Swearing
Summary: He’s back in his own Hyrule. Finally. Sadly, Wild's curiosity and his own damned pair of Pegasus Boots are going to ruin Legend’s moment of reunion.
_____
After they had been stuck in Wild’s Hyrule for about three months, they definitely had enough of his stupid Guardians and abnormally big Hinoxes around every corner. Don't even mention a fucking Lynel or Twilight will lose his mind and throw his sword at Wild.
It's easy to imagine then, the collective sigh of relief that went through the group when they saw houses and barns that were still intact and monsters that look like they’re a breeze to kill for once. Wind even shed a few tears.
“Finally!”, Legend exclaims and pumps his fist into the air, gaining everyone's attention. They've never seen him be this excited about a dimension change.
“Listen up, fuckers”, he says with a grin on his face, immediately shushing Time when he sees that the old man is about to scold him for swearing. Now just isn't the time for that shit. He still does tone it down a bit, though. Because deep, deep down he knows that he shouldn’t mess with Time.
“Listen up”, Legend repeats. His smile is starting to unnerve Wind. “Now that we're finally away from Wild's godforsaken apocalyptic wasteland of a Hyrule.” Wild glares at him. “I'm proud to say that we've arrived in my Hyrule.”
Legend takes a few steps back and opens his arms wide, gesturing for them to take it all in. All this peaceful glory that is his Hyrule. Then he unsheathes his sword in one fluid motions and drives it into the chest of a knight minion sneaking up behind him. Yeah, totally peaceful.
“That's… uh, great, Legend”, Hyrule says, eyeing a group of blue knights, that's making a move towards them. “It's nice that we get to see your Hyrule for a change.”
“I know!” He takes out his ice rod, freezes the group into a big clump of ice and then shatters them with his arrows. “Technically, this is just one of my Hyrul- I mean, you're gonna love it here. We can finally travel peacefully. My Hyrule isn't all that big either, so we should be able to see most of it.” At the word “peaceful” all the Links shoot each other a doubting look.
Legend takes his bag off his shoulder and starts to rummage through it. He pulls out a weathered piece of paper that has multiple small holes in it.
“Look, we're in Kakariko Village and in eastern direction is my house, let's go there first and then plan what to do next.” He unfolds the map and shows them where they currently are. Eight or so red pins litter the paper in seemingly random places.
Judging from the appearance of the map and the malicious knight lurking behind every tree and corner, Legend must have been in the middle of his quest when he was ripped from his world.
_____
A very short walk from Kakariko to the east of Kakariko later and they stand in front of a small house on top of an equally small cliff.
“Cute”, Wild says and makes his way to the house when something colourful in his peripheral catches his attention.
“Wild?”, Four asks, as he sees Wild walking off in the wrong direction. But the man in question has already reached his destination and is now standing in front of what looks like a crack in the wall. Black tendrils spill forth in uncontrolled patterns. Blues, reds and yellows fill the spaces between the ink like substance on the wall and they remind Wild of stained glass windows. He carefully reaches out with his hand, but hears footsteps approach before he can make contact.
“Don't touch that.” Legend rolls his eyes. “I don’t know if it can suck you in in your current form, but just don’t fucking touch it.” Of course, he'd walk off because he saw something of interest. It's surprising that Hyrule hasn't done that yet. Those two morons went off on an “adventure” the first five minutes they had arrived in Time's Hyrule, claiming they saw a weird looking plant and wanted to “investigate”.
Legend rubs his forehead and looks up towards his house. Twenty fucking steps. That's all it takes to reach my house from the western side of the hill. Why. He turns back around towards the group and sees that they're all gone. A faint glow from the crack in the wall tells him where they could quite possibly be.
“Damn it.”
______
Legend blinks a few times, getting used to the different lighting and atmosphere of Lorule again. He unsheathes his sword with more vigor than necessary. Since we’re in my Hyrule now, there's no way that this isn’t going to be a great time for me. I'm familiar with all this. I'm gonna have a good time. Hah, jokes on me.
He is about to shout for that moron of a Link called Wild when he hears Twilight's voice around the corner.
“Why were we dragged along with you? Wild, I love you, cub, but sometimes I really can't deal with your bullshit.”
“Could you please stop with the swearing? Wind-”
“is a sailor and probably has a more elaborate swear word catalogue than all of use combined.”
“Also, don't act like you've never said any “bad” words in front of me.”
“Well, yes, bu-”
“Anyway, come on, Twi, you were just as curious as I was when you saw that portal.”
“Yeah, but unlike you, I can control my impulses and make rational decisions-” The rustling of leaves muffle whatever words are next spoken.
“The worst thing that could have happened is that I died and-”
“How is that not a valid reason to not do this?!”
“I mean, Mipha-” More leaves rustling.
“No, I don't want to hear any more of it. Death is not an inconvenience for goddess’ sake! Also, could you please stop probing at that shrub?!”
Legend knocks his sword against his shield a few times, making poor Hyrule and Wild jump in the air. Twilight flinches slightly.
“Good to see you too, you idiots”, he says and takes a few steps towards them. He sees Wild going back into a crouched position, poking at a flower-like shrub. Legend walks over to him and steps onto his stick.
“Wait, Legend, there's-”
The purple flower collapses under his weight and falls into the depths of the hidden cave below it, taking Legend, who loses his footing, with it.
“a hole there.” Wild stands up and throws his now broken stick away. “Do we by any chance have a rope or something with us?”
_____
Legend opens his eyes and sees a pyramid like stone building before him. In random intervals, there are bars that block the path towards the top.
“If you want to get up there and get the treasure, you have to be really fast”, an unknown person ahead of him says. Face obscured by a small triangular cloth.
Legend walks up to him and notices the spherical switch to his right. He touches it lightly and sees the first two bars along the path sink into the ground. He can also make out the next switch at the end. Pegasus boots then and good timing.
Intrigued and distracted by the skill puzzle before him, he forgets the group of panicked Links above him and gets to work. Piece of cake.
______
“Legend!!?”, Wild yells, leaning into the hole. Twilight is the only thing holding him back from tumbling over and into the same depths as Legend.
“He's been in there for a pretty long time and we haven't heard anything of him yet”, Four states, rubbing a strand of his long hair between his fingers. “How deep do you think it goes?”
“I don't know. Point is, we don't have a rope with which we could pull him up with, bu-”
In that moment there is a bright light and then a body that materialises before them.
“Fuck this shit.” Wild narrowly avoids getting hit by a pair of boots.
“Wild, you go the fuck down there. Use Revali’s Gal or whatever and get me that fucking treasure because I've had enough for a lifetime of this pegasus boots bullshit. I'm going home.”
The group of Links watch on with puzzled expressions, as Legend, bare-footed, walks over to the crack, turns into a painting on the wall and disappears through the portal.
“Did I miss something?”

Old Clothes Part 4
Part 1 // Part 2 // Part 3
Word Count: ≈ 2116
Warnings: Mentions of death, murder, fear of failure
Author's Note: Okay, so I accidentally started previously that Odette first Burned when she was nine.  That was incorrect as she was much younger.  Also, this isn’t exactly what I wanted for this part, but I think it sets up my plans for the next part nicely.
Old clothes are always a little strange.  Someone once loved them—cherished them—and now they’re nothing more than a mask.  The quality vanishes with the donation bin.  Dresses for the rich are now for the poor and those for the poor are falling to pieces.  Those stitched by mothers have a different energy about them.  The love that holds the fabric together never quite fades and it always remains soft, even after the countless storms and attacks of nature.  The items warmed your soul whenever they were held and the rush of emotions was overwhelming in the most brilliant way possible.  My sister missed the opportunity for that feeling.
My mother used to make my clothes for me. She would buy the fabrics and spend an entire Sunday making me a new outfit. They were my favourite things in all the world. We only kept one when we first left. It was the one I was wearing, but it wasn't the same when it was handed down to Clara. Ashes had woven their way into the seams and the smell of fire lingered no matter what we would do. The warmth of love carried the burning of a fire. Delicate lace that lined the edges were rough with hardened emotions.
I sighed and motioned for my audience to sit down. Jack and Davey pulled chairs out from my table, still staying quite close. Albert grabbed a seat for Crutchie and himself, while Buttons plopped himself on the ground with his legs crossed. "Before I say anything else, you have to promise you won't tell anyone. Not a soul. I shouldn't be telling you any of this since it puts more people than just me in danger, but I think you deserve to know. Promise." I made eye contact with every one of them and they all nodded in reply. "Great. Fantastic. Brilliant." I ran my hand through my hair once again.
"I was born in London, I believe, in 1791. My father's name is—was James and my mother's name was Lilijah. At least, that's what their names were while I was growing up. The Burn existed long before I was born, probably back when the first monarchies began. It was never meant to be a way of life. The Burn... it was always a safety procedure, a cautionary plan if you will.
"Say everything goes wrong. You're being framed for murder or are being chased by the police or mafia or it's anything else that's basically the end of the world for you. Well, in my family, that's the end of the world for whomever you were. Then, you are reborn, so to speak.
"It's simple enough, really. Everything you once owned, your clothes, books, anything that could identify you, would be taken out to an empty space. There, you set a match to it, lighting everything ablaze and erasing all evidence of you ever existing. It worked exceptionally well when I was little since towns and cities were so spread out and people just died suddenly, but people would notice if you just disappeared since there were so few people living in the area. Today, it's easy to vanish, but harder to locate a burn spot.
"Once the ashes lay at your feet, you build yourself again. New name, new place, new story. Of course, this plan wasn't meant for frequent use. So you have to get creative sometimes. I can't even tell you how many people I've become. My name is Odette Davenport, though. It's the one thing I've always known. I don't know my birthday, where I'm truly from, how I prefer my tea or if I even like tea. At this point, Odette is just another character I'm to play before I move on from this place."
My gaze met the ground as I paused, not knowing how to go on. Two of these boys were related to me. They have a right to know, but should they? Who knew how many times Clara and Elijah had Burned before settling down and washing the ash from their nailbeds. Did they even share the family shame with anyone or was it the secret that killed them? No, they should know. They should know why.
Jesse. No, he's not Jesse. Jesse is gone now, he doesn't matter. This one does. He's different, better than Jesse. In his eyes, I'm a person. A real person who feels the same as others do and thinks the same thoughts. I'm just older, suffering a long-lasting curse, just as he is. His leg was the poison that was crawling through his body and killing him slowly. The water rushed through my veins, stripping away any sign of illness or death, keeping me alive. How I wished I could switch with him, feel sickness and pain and worry about mortality instead of harbouring the fear of my past coming up behind me and pushing me over the edge, only to fall forever.
Jack and Davey must think I'm insane with my tale. That or they're calling into question what they knew about life and the universe.  Perhaps it was both at once.  The two need not be here, listening to my woes, yet they sit in anticipation, awaiting my next breath.  But why?  This has no consequence upon their lives.  I’m merely a single person in a list of thousands that they’ve met just in a day.  Compared to the years they would exist, it’s an interaction that means most nothing.  Yet they are content with sitting and giving me their attention as if I were the Queen during a time of war.  An odd comparison since my actions would lead me down a far less noble path where I would abdicate the throne and flee the country.
"I was four when I first Burned.  I had accidentally stolen food and my parents feared the worst.  We weren't living in a town known for forgiveness.  We packed up in the middle of the night, brought everything out to the field.  I still feel the scorching heat on my face sometimes, when I’m at my lowest.  The smell of burning memories in one you never think you'll know, but you’ll never forget it either.  We kept very few things from my first life.  My grandmother's ring," I held up my hand to show off the flat gold front with worn initials carved into the front, "some money, the clothes we were wearing, and our names." There was a small gasp from Buttons and Albert.  The family trait for worry and fear of failure seemed to run deeper than I thought.
"My brother Elijah Burned when he was five and Clara was only one at the time.  Once again, it was all my fault.  My mind escaped me and I wandered to follow it.  I was only ten and they shouldn’t have blamed me for what I came across." I huffed and shook my head, clearing the daunting image from my brain, "It was a body, what I found.  I...They thought I killed him.  Me, a ten-year-old, killed a fully grown man.  I was going to be arrested, put on death row, for something I didn’t do.  So we Burned.  After that, it became frequent.  The five of us carried matches on our person just in case we had to leave in a hurry.  We no longer controlled the burn.  It controlled us."
"Wait, you was four when youse did this?" I nodded to Jack, confirming the answer he knew, "But you was just a kid!  That ain’t right!"
"I lived in different times, Jack.  Very different times.  I was British in America not eight years after the War for Independence.  They would do anything to get rid of us.  It was like we were a plague when we wanted out of England the same way they did." I glanced out the dingy window, seeing the onset twilight, "Oh god, I best be going." I pushed myself off the table I was perched on, "Thank you for the supplies to fix myself up and I guess for listening to part of my life story." My mouth met the cheeks of each boy in thanks, something I had picked up in my travels.  I started backing out of the room when Crutchie’s face caught my eye.  He was crestfallen, the corners of his mouth turning down as he sighed and kicked lightly at the ground.  I couldn't just leave like this.  Not after what I had told them all.  But I needed to. "Do one of you think you could walk me to my hotel?  It is quite dark and I don’t want to be in any danger."
Before anyone could respond, Jack stepped forward, "I'll take ya.  I know dese streets betta than anyone else." He led me out the Lodging House as I waved at the boys in a final goodbye.  I uttered the address of my temporary arrangements and we stalked the streets in silence, becoming long shadows that extend for miles around sharp corners.  I watched Jack more than the path ahead of me, trying to piece together the mystery I wanted to know.  He and Davey... what was it about them?
"You know, if ya wanna look at me, starin' like that ain't too covert."
"Davey," Jack's posture straightened and I could tell his breaths were shallowing, "there's something about him you like, isn't there.  More than just a friend perhaps."
"I don't know what youse talkin' 'bout.  Dave is one a my best friends," I saw the slight fall in his expression, turning to sadness and bitterness, "Why would there be anything else to 'im that I like?  It's not like I'll just listen to him go on hours 'bout nothin'.  And it ain't his pretty eyes or soft hair or anything.  Definitely not." He shook his head and met my gaze, a pleading look on his face.  Nobody could know.  Even if Jack couldn't help himself when it came to talking about his counterpart, no one could know.
"Definitely not." I winked at him and we chuckled.  A quiet followed afterwards until Jack broke the invisible barrier
"You ain't gonna leave us, right?  Not yet?"
I stared him dead in the eye, ready to avoid making the real decision, "Of course not.  There’s still so much you all don't know yet."
"Great.  I think Al and Buttons really enjoy having you here.  Crutch too.  He doesn't trust many too much.  There's only a few of us he’s real close to.  Somethin' about you is different.  I could see it in his face.  I think he really likes ya." I blushed at the thought of Crutchie liking me.  It wasn't a concept that was foreign to me, but I didn't expect it from this boy after hearing I was immortal.
The middle-class building loomed above us, beckoning me towards the room I had booked, "I guess this is me." I shrugged and thanked Jack for walking me.  he stole a hug before running back into the night.  My fingers found my hair as I entered the building, climbing the stairs.  The room I had booked was tiny, a single bed crammed against the wall and a trunk placed at the end.   A window was across from the door, leading to the fire escape, and there was a cracked mirror mounted by a closet that would fit only a child.
My fingers found their way around the room, collecting my things as my mind ran around the world, searching for a place to run to.  The checklist was losing empty boxes and the panic inside me wasn't reflected on the outside. This was normal.  My footsteps were almost nonexistent as I floated out of the room and to the empty bathroom shared by all the guests on my floor.  The lock flicked shut at my will and I carefully stacked my items within the confines of the bathtub.  I opened the window to filter the air into the black night.
But the boys.  I couldn't do this to them.  My family.  Crutchie.  It wasn't fair that I was leaving them in the dark, no idea of the end or middle of the story.  then again, life was never fair either.  Certainly not this one.  The moment I started this, it went downhill.  I studied the pile across from me, spinning the historic ring around my finger.  My hand found the box in my pocket.  A snap of the wrist later and my face was illuminated with the soft glow of the burning match. Ashes were always the beginning, but what was the end?

Okay I've heard of people wanting a Marauder's TV show in their Hogwarts years, but consider; a Marauder's sitcom in the afterlife
Hear me out:
- They live together so there's lots of petty arguments to the tune of "the toilet paper goes over not under!"
- Looking down at the stuff going on on Earth like "the fuck is this shit???" And getting offended when Harry names his son Albus Severus and just overall watching what's going on like it's their favorite TV show and they're just always exasperated that Harry always takes the most roundabout, dangerous option. >"You know where he gets that from Potter? Huh? It reminds you of a certain someone, doesn't it?!!" >"Oh my god, he’s just like you!" >"Well yes, but that's not who I was talking about!"
- They're no longer limited by death, so they spend their time messing around and getting up to insane antics that definitely would have killed them if they were still alive
- They've adopted Fred and he complements the group perfectly
- Snape, having "redeemed" himself, is in their heaven, but it's his purgatory, since he has to be their neighbor. He's sorta over things, but is still salty, so he spends his time bitterly trading sarcastic remarks and putting all of the fallen leaves onto their side of the lawn and stuff •It doesn't faze the Marauders in the slightest; they use them to make an absurdly large pile of leaves and jump into it
- There's an ongoing joke that Peter Pettigrew keeps trying to sneak into heaven •like swiper from Dora the Explorer •the whole episode, the Marauders are preoccupied with something really stupid but are dead serious about (like using magic to make an enormous staircase, so they can mattress surf down it) while the camera just focuses on Peter overdramatically tiptoeing in the background •Peter is all like "Haha! Finally I will triumph!" •the Marauders are totally aware he's there, they just have more important things to worry about (ie. mattress surfing) •everytime Peter appears, they just come up with increasingly ridiculous ways to yeet him out •he starts his nefarious plan, then the Marauders look directly at him, and one second later, it cuts to him being strapped into a catapult •they always send him off with a "pEtEr YoU RAt!!!" And a mock look of disapproval
- Tonks and Lily live with them too, of course, and Sirius uses the opportunity to monologue about how he's literally "forever alone" and how he is secretly in love with either James or Remus, depending on who is displaying more public affection at the moment, but they broke his heart by choosing someone else
- Also Dumbledore makes Stan Lee esque cameos •he's the cashier at the grocery store that is definitely blitzed out of his mind •he's the homeless man on the street mumbling about lemon drops •he's the bus driver who's pointing out everything on the street like it's a tour bus (this is especially funny because the whole show takes place on just one street and there's like one person on the bus) •all of these appear in consecutive frames but no one notices or looks any closer at the multiple Dumbledores •it's later revealed that sometimes one of those Dumbledores is Tonks, but that doesn't nearly account for all of the Dumbledores
- Whenever Sirius and James are acting especially stupid, it just cuts to Remus looking directly into the camera like he's on The Office
- Endless puns about dogs, werewolves, and stags
- Since they all died before the 2000s, they never really experienced our current technology so they make up for it by making (even more) low-budget, campy parodies and recreations of vines and memes
- Dobby's also their neighbor, and he's (obviously) pure and precious •He bakes his neighbors cookies!!!! •(but not Snape) •Snape goes crazy trying to get his hands on one because the rest of the characters make a point of loudly raving about how good they are just to spite him •once, Snape and Peter team up to try and steal the recipe, but even Snape knows when he’s beat, so he switches sides at the last minute, helps the Marauders stop Peter, then claims he was on their side the whole time •imagine girls nights with Lily, Tonks, and Dobby
- Also! Lupin’s not as affected so he doesn’t lose control and turn into a werewolf every full moon! Because he’s precious and deserves better!
-Adding on to that, once they learn about furries, you can bet they never shut up about it and are always bringing it up around bewildered passerby in increasingly awkward situations, until it becomes a competition to see who can make people the most confused and/or uncomfortable -ALSO: in this hypothetical show, Dumbledore must canonically be gay. With actual evidence. As in not just stated after the fact in an attempt to increase representation. *cough* Joanne *cough* And one of the background Dumbledores goes totally Queer Eye on random people, but it's not planned, he just approaches random people on the street and suggests to them how they can fix their style while they awkwardly try to go about their business -Before the opening credits on one of the episodes, there’s a gag scene where the Marauders are seen in front of Robert Pattinson who is VERY clearly supposed to be playing Cedric Diggory •like head to toe Hufflepuff merch •a literal nametag that says “HELLO MY NAME IS Cedric Diggory” •but the Marauders are like “you look familiar” •and they do that thing like in that one episode of Wizards of Waverly Place? You know where the Russos are at wizarding school and Alex says something to the tune of “this seems familiar. Like it reminds me of Larry something? Barry something? Oh never mind” while staring at Justin in his wizard robes and round glasses in clear reference to Harry Potter? But with Twilight >one goes “oh you’re the actor from that movie!” >“oh yeah! Starlight, right?” >“it’s Daylight, you ignoramous!” >“stupid much? It’s obviously Moonlight!” >“wait, isn’t it Night Light?” >“it’s definitely gotta be Starlight because the other one is called Supermoon!” >“oh my god! You complete doofus! The other book is called Blue Moon!” •eventually he interrupts and deadpans, “you know, people tell me I look like that kid who was murdered by the Dark Lord. Cedric Diggory?” And he’s somehow ended up with the nametag like on his forehead or something by this point •they consider for 0.1 seconds >“that can’t be it” >“nah I don’t see it” >“really? Who thinks that?” •throughout the rest of the series, you see ads and books and movies in the background that are clearly supposed to be Twilight but have those knockoff titles and covers that you would see in like the background of Poptropica or something? Like it’s clearly referencing the thing but using language that won’t get them sued? But it’s super obvious? And they appear in every episode and it becomes a thing like the pineapples in Psych? •And whenever Cedric appears in the background, that Benedict Cumberbatch thing happens (to a lesser extent) for Robert’s name? •just a casual “hey Roger” or “s’up Ryan” or “Hey look! It’s Rodrick!”
Does this not sound glorious?!!!

Come on N Ride the Train Pt 1 (REPOST)
***NOTE*** Tumblr is being a dick about things and so I am reposting without any links so maybe it will appear like it should.  I’m sorry I don’t meant to be jamming Dean down your throats.  *heh*
Pairing:  Dean x Reader
Summary: Some plot, Dean and Y/N are on the Empire Builder run of the Amtrak to get to Seattle where Sam is waiting. Being cooped up is not conducive to a happy Dean.  Until…
Rating:  XXX
Regardless of rating, this is an 18+ ONLY blog.
Word Count: 2827
Squick Warnings:   None.
Note: Please don’t steal my writing.  I worked hard on it.  My work cannot be reproduced or posted by anyone without my express, written consent. Reblog is great!  Copy and paste is theft.
ALSO:  I have a serious issue with tense.  Please forgive me.  AND forgive me for the shitty title.  But I had to. No, you don’t understand.  I.  HAD. TO.
Dean was pouting.  Dean had been pouting from the moment he’d answered Sam’s call.  The younger Winchester had called from Seattle with the Impala and a blown engine.  Y/N’s car was at Bobby’s up on blocks and missing most of the passenger side.  Sam assured Dean that he’d found a great mechanic, a former hunter, who was taking care of the repairs.  Dean insisted on getting to Seattle as fast as he could.
Via 46 hour train trip.
Y/N was along just to make sure that Dean didn’t kill his brother upon arrival.  Plus, she liked the Winchesters.  A lot.
Tumblr media
She’d been switching between her laptop and staring at the landscape as it passed when the door slid open and the elder Winchester stalked in.  He had left less than 20 minutes ago in search of the bar car.  His quick return could only mean that it had disappointed him, only adding to his frustration.  He threw himself into the seat across from her and set his chin on his fist.  He stared angrily at the passing landscape.  Which was actually quite beautiful.  They’d passed through Minneapolis at night and Y/N watched with pleasure as the city lights sparkled for her as they sped by.  Near as she could tell, they were somewhere in North Dakota, headed for Montana and Glacier National Park.  The sky was clear and she kept searching the horizon for the mountains.  She’d always loved the mountains.  They watched the trees and a small town whisk by them in silence. Y/N watched Dean out of the corner of her eye, a small smile spreading on her face, he was going to burst in 3...2…
“I can’t believe we’re stuck in this tin can for another day!” he groused.  “I need the open road.  The wind in my hair.  Road beers and burgers.  I need freedom.”  He sighed heavily.  “I need my baby.”
“It sure wasn’t going to be Ellen’s on wheels D.  It’s a bar on a train.”  She began, “And the burgers we had earlier were good, I thought.”  She watched him as he continued to stare at the coming twilight.
“I guess.”  He muttered.
“And, Jesus, Dean, we’re going to get her right now.”  She answered.
“If the damage is…There’s no way this guy can just fix her.  Sam doesn't know what the hell he’s doing.” he shook his head.  “I’ll kill him.”
She looked around the space again.  It was a simple sleeper train car, two bench seats across from each other with a large window to see the world go by.  At night, the seats could be pulled out into beds.  A feature that Y/N fully took advantage of.  The bathroom and showers weren’t far and Sam made sure that they had plenty of credit to spend on the way.  It wasn’t the Hogwarts Express but it wasn’t coach either.  And it was the closest Y/N had to a vacation in years.  With the exception of the handsome grump she was saddled with.  “Look, at least Sam got us this private car.  Baby will be fully repaired by the time we get there.  It will be fine.”
“What was I thinking…” Dean continued as if he didn’t even hear her.
“Well it would be a fraction of the trip and cost if someone wasn’t terrified of flying.”  She said quietly, looking back to her laptop.
This time, Dean turned to focus his angry eyes on her.  “Blow me.”
That’s enough, she thought as she raised her eyebrows.  “If I do, will you stop being such a whining bitch?”
The challenge hung in the air, the chugging of the distant train engine the only sound.  “Maybe it would,” he stared hard at her, “You wanna suck me off?”  He asked, his voice full of venom as he turned fully  towards her, leaning back and letting his bow legs fall open.  He moved his hands to his belt, grabbing the loose end, pushing through the buckle, then tugging it open and dropping the ends with a flourish.  His hands slapped down on his thighs. “You want my cock in your mouth?”
She took her time closing her laptop and placing it on the corner of the seat under the window.  She could feel him watching her every move.  She turned back to him, deliberately leaned forward and rested her elbows on her knees, letting her hands hang down.  She finally met his angry eyes with her cool ones.  “Maybe you should put my pussy in your mouth instead.  It would shut you up for a while.”
He laughed; short and bitter.  “It would only take me a minute.”
She scoffed, rolling her eyes, “even YOU aren’t that good, Dean Winchester.”  She shot back.
The green of his eyes began to shrink as his pupils enlarged.  His anger was swallowed by something stronger taking over.  “C’mere,” he snarled.  Reaching across the narrow space, snatching her hand, and yanking her into his lap.  His arm circled her waist, his hand gripping her hip tight.  His other hand slid in between her thighs, stopping just shy of her core. “You want me to make you scream?” He said darkly; his hand moving an inch closer.
“I wanna not spend the next 24 hours with a petulant child.”  She said, running one of her hands over his stubbled cheek, her own cheeks flushing at the feel of his hardness beneath her thigh.  His fingers dug into the flesh of her leg, sending little sparks through her. The other hand carded in his hair.  She tightened her fist, yanking his head back, his jaw clenched, eyes never leaving hers.  “Now what?”
“You first,” Dean growled, standing up, displacing and slamming her down in the seat next to him.  On his knees on the car floor, he boxed her in, his hands on either side of her shoulders, putting his lips to her ear. “You’re tired of my whining, huh?  How would you like to hear what I was really thinking about instead?”  He moved to the other side, his lips whispering over hers as he passed.  “I was thinking about how I would love to taste those lips of yours.”  He tipped his head back, nose to nose as he smirked, “Both sets.”  He then leaned in, placing his lips against the pounding artery in her neck, “How I’d love to have you screaming for me.  How I want to use my fingers until you’re quivering for me.”  He moved, back his emerald eyes now searching hers.  Desire flowed throughout her body, pooling in her belly. She felt dampness between her thighs, just from his words.  “I want you spread open, begging for me to satisfy you.”  His pupils were fully dilated, and his gaze was hot and strange. She tipped her head a little to watch him.  Suddenly, he closed the space between them and covered her mouth with his.
She gasped and her hands went to his shoulders, bunching the flannel in her fists as Dean’s tongue invaded her mouth.  His hands pressed against the back of the seat, wrapping around her back and pulling her torso up against his.  She hugged the wall of muscle to her and moaned into his mouth.  Just as suddenly, he dropped between her knees and reached for her waist.  “These are coming off.”  He kneaded the muscles of her thighs impatiently while she leaned back to lift her hips from the seat and unbuttoned her jeans.  As soon as the button was popped, he grasped the waistband and yanked.  She kicked off her shoes as Dean pulled one leg free, leaving her jeans to gather around her other ankle.  She kicked them away.  The cooler air of the car assaulting her skin and Dean’s hands were hot on her thighs as he parted her legs.  She watched as he licked his lips, staring at her nakedness.  “Wider.”
She obeyed, putting her heels up on the seat next to her.  She was fully open to the elder Winchester’s gaze.
He pushed her folds apart with his fingers and licked his lips again.  He ran a finger softly along the outer lips, tickling them as he explored.  A moan escaped her as she rolled her hips towards him.  A grin broke out on his face as he glanced up at her.  “This won’t take long, Princess.” He said, shedding the flannel and tugging his shirt over his head and tossing it onto the seat behind him.  He then leaned forward and slipped his tongue against her clit.
A wave of pleasure hit and her head fell back.  Her hand grasping the back of his head as he ran his tongue over the nerves.  She felt him hum against her as he continued running his finger along her slit, up to his tongue, down to press gently at her entrance.  She sighed and ran her hands through his hair.  “Dean,” she said, pretty much against her will.  She certainly didn’t mean to sound so wanton.
“Mmm, I like that,” he glanced up briefly, his eyebrow cocked.  “Will you say it again?”  He asked softly, while two fingers gently swirled around her pussy.
She grinned down at him, “Maybe if you—DEAN!” she cried, suddenly slamming her hands down on the seat next to her hips.  He had pushed both thick fingers inside, immediately crooking and pressing on her g-spot.  “Oh!”
Dean returned to assaulting her clit with his tongue as he pistoned his fingers in and out.  He was humming again, almost making his tongue seem like a vibrator as she writhed, helpless against him.  Her heels slipped off the seat and found themselves draped over his shoulders.  Dean’s free hand snaked up her waist, up under her shirt to tug at her hardened nipples through her bra.
Her legs began to tremble as her moans got louder.  His name flowing freely from her lips as she began bucking her hips against his tongue.  “Ohmygod, I’m gonna cum!”  She cried as she fell over the edge.
Dean didn’t stop until she was wiggling away from his mouth, mewling in between gasps for air.  Finally, he sat back on his heels with a satisfied grin.  “You’re delicious.”  He decreed, wiping his hand over his mouth and chin.  “I’m definitely gonna want seconds.”
“Holy shit. You ARE that good.”  Her eyes were wide in disbelief as the tremors echoed from her thighs to her core.  She didn’t move, staying splayed against the seat for Dean to fully fuck with his eyes.  She felt her skin flush under his gaze as the fire in him remained unquenched.  She bit down on her bottom lip as she watched him palm the bulge in his jeans.  “You okay down there?”  She managed to right herself, sitting straighter.  She reached for the bottom of her shirt and pulled it over her head.
He rose up on his knees again to be eye to eye.  “I think I’d like to know what this smart mouth can do.”  Before she could answer, his mouth was over hers again. Tongue sweeping her thoughts away as it danced with hers.  “If you want, of course.”
“Oh I want.” She decreed.  “Stand up.”  She reached for the already unfastened belt as he rose. She had to concentrate on the task at hand since all she wanted at the moment was to stare at shirtless, horny, Dean Winchester.
Pulling his jeans down to fall at his feet, she became aware of the rocking of the train. Looking up into his eyes she smiled, “will you be able to stay upright?”
He immediately looked over his head to the luggage rack. He reached up, wrapping his hands around the bars. He looked back down at her with a confident smile.  “I’m good. But I got an idea for this rockin later.”
A pulse of want shot through her as she took the velvet shaft into her hands. Determined to make Dean weep with pleasure, she wrapped her lips around the head and swirled her tongue over the tip.
His knees buckled. “Jesus!” He exclaimed.
“This is gonna be longer than a minute, Winchester. I like to take my time.”
“We’ve got hours.”  He breathed, running one hand to the base of his cock, squeezing once, making the head pulse between her lips.  “I’m all yours.”
She hummed against the head and a growl emanated from his chest.  She slipped his length in as far as she could take him, continuing to swirl her tongue.  She wrapped her hand around the shaft as she slowly pulled back.  She heard his quiet “oh” as she slipped him back in.  His hips moved forward to meet her and she used her hands to take generous handfuls of his ass. Opening her eyes, she looked up his body.  His head had fallen back and he was almost hanging from the bar he was clinging to.  She returned to sliding him in and out of her mouth.
“You can do me a little harder, I’m not gonna break.”  His broken voice startled her.  She’d fallen into her rhythm, happily pleasing Dean.  Her eyes popped open and she noticed that night had completely fallen.
She hummed against his cock and he moaned in reply.  She dug her nails into the meat of his ass and began moving faster, sucking harder.
He yelped and began thrusting his hips into her warm mouth.  “That’s it, oh god, just like that.” He began grunting, each sound encouraging her as she pleased him.  She took one hand to stroke him as well as keep him pumping in and out.  “I’m...hngh, close.”  He panted.  She continued.
He came with a roar.  She heard the metal bar above her protest as his muscles locked, his orgasm pulsing down her throat.  She kept sucking him in until he gasped and jerked away.  His pants causing him to stumble backwards and tumble back into his seat with none of the hunter’s grace that he normally possessed.
She smiled as she watched his chest heave with the aftermath.  His head back against the wall as he took great gasping breaths.  “Oh my god.”  He finally managed.
She ran her hands through her hair and began looking around for her discarded shirt.  As she reached to put it on, he stopped her.
“C’mere.”
She looked up, a little surprised.  “What?”
He reached his hand out, all traces of anger absent from his handsome and sated face.  He smiled softly, “Come here.”
She took his hand and let him guide her to his lap again.  She slid against his warm skin, as he pulled her back against his chest.  Her legs fell to the outside of his, as she settled.  She felt gentle kisses against the back of her shoulder as he wrapped his arms around her waist.
“I’m sorry.”  His voice so soft she almost missed it.
She turned her head to find his chin on her shoulder.  His eyes focused on the world passing them by. “For what?”
He hugged her to him, “For being a total shit.  I forget sometimes that I’m really not the only person in the world.  And you bore the brunt of that for the last few days.” He turned and met her eyes with his bright greens.  “I am sorry.”
She covered his arms with hers and squeezed.  “Just don’t do it again.”  She said with a grin.
“But what if it always ends with us naked?”  He bit gently at her neck and she shivered.
She thought for a moment…”Well…”  She wiggled her bottom against him and he gasped.  “This was kind of fun.  Even though you cheated.”
“How did I cheat?”  He leaned over to be able to see her completely.
“The only reason you made me cum so fast was because of all that stuff you said first.”  She licked her lips at the recent memory.
“Ah, but it worked, didn’t it?”
“Were you really thinking all those things?”
“For months.”  He admitted with a slight chuckle.  “Months.”
“You could have said something sooner, you know.”  She chided.
“I could have, but that’s not the Winchester way.”  He sighed, running his hands between her thighs.  He pushed his knees apart, further opening her legs.  A single finger slipped over her clit. Immediately causing the nerve to swell and harden.  “There you are,” he hummed.
She tipped her head back so that it was resting against his cheek as they gazed out the window into the passing darkness.  They could see the lights of small downs as they whizzed across the country.  “So what now?”
He thought for a moment, kissing her neck softly.  “I’m gonna spend the next day inside you.  What do you think about that?”
“Not so bad being trapped now, is it?”  She smiled as she rolled her hips against his questing finger.
“Not at all.”  He said thickly.
Yes, there will be a part 2.

The Teacup Awards B-Side (2018)
Not every game fits neatly into an awards category. Think of these B-sides as the participation awards. They are something worth talking about but only when all of the hard hitters are out of the way.  I played a real mixed bag of games last year and didn’t play too many of my usual sort. Very light on survival games, for one, and there weren’t as many stand-out indie games as the year before.
Still, some interesting stuff did come out of the year so I don’t just want to disregard ninety percent of it. It was a year of catch-up really, playing through some of 2017’s biggest hits. So now let’s make up a bunch of different awards and give to games from last year that I think are worth a mention.
Two Point Hospital
The ‘Fly in the Cup’ Award for Killer Problem
I liked Two Point Hospital quite a lot when I first started playing it. It felt like a return to form; back to Theme Hospital, which I enjoyed a lot. It was refreshingly similar but with new diseases and additions that kept me excited. I recorded myself playing it and then created a different save to play in the downtime, something I didn’t do often. So I was obviously enjoying myself. Yet as I got through the game, something started to nag at me. It took me quite a while to find out what it was.
Tumblr media
The difficulty obviously increases as you go on, but getting the two and three star ratings started feeling like a huge slog. My reputation would be decent and tons of people were visiting but the money wasn’t coming in, so I couldn’t properly expand to meet the demand. As a result, a lot of people were being sent home and things hit a stalemate. This is down to one big problem - the GP offices. They stall everything, making sure that everything is backed up and nothing can get done.
See, patients need to visit GPs after every diagnostic test - even if they’re one hundred percent diagnosed. That means all your patients are funneling through to one place, making for giant queue times and holding everything up. The simple addition of a ‘straight to treatment’ slider would have solved this. At the very least make patients prioritise appointments over hitting up the vending machines. It’s possible that this has been patched (or will be) but it totally killed my enthusiasm at the time.
Stories Untold
The ‘What Just Happened’ Award for Strangest Game
I originally considered Stories Untold for a spot in the scariest game award but it didn’t get there for one reason: it’s not very scary. Interesting, certainly, and it does create quite the atmosphere. But it’s more quiet and thoughtful than outright scary. Much like the Twilight Zone, where a lot of inspiration seems to have been drawn. No bad thing that, as I quite like The Twilight Zone. It shares the right amount of weirdness while also being grounded, somewhere, in reality.
Tumblr media
Playing Stories Untold is a strange beast as well. The bulk of it is done via text adventure, a medium that has been all but abandoned by modern game developers, unless it’s being used as a joke. Stories Untold uses its text adventure format to interact with the world around it, making it able to tell a story and spook the player at the same time. Again, not entirely scary but it’s an interesting subversion of the medium.
It all culminates in a final chapter that brings all of the madness together to some sort of conclusion. It’s quite a satisfying blend, as it takes us back through all the previous chapters but with new information under our belts. Stories Untold isn’t a perfect game, I had issues with the third chapter, but it is by far the strangest game I played last year.
Mario Odyssey
The ‘Boing’ Award For Best Platformer
Mario games never really seen to fit into the awards ceremonies. They are epitome of good but not overly memorable. Mario Odyssey broke the mold somewhat because it did a lot of things different from the other games in the series. It wasn’t content to use the old Mario roster for its NPCs, but instead brought in new faces. From round, bouncing seals to sentient forks, Mario Odyssey was channeling the kind of creativity not usually found outside of the RPGs.
Tumblr media
It pays off in dividends as it’s good, honest fun. It makes the best use of the Switch’s fairly reserved controls and delivers up a pile of interesting worlds to explore. While the moon placement is a bit bizarre - as some can be as simple as looking under a rock - it gives you all the more incentive to explore every corner of the fairly expansive worlds. Plus you get to go to the actual moon and jump around on the surface and you can’t really fault that.
I didn’t really have much of a problem with it, but Mario games of that type tend to be kind of one note. There were very memorable moments, such as the festival in New Donk City, but a lot kind of glided past in that Mario way. It was fun but you’re not really going to think about it after it’s done. I didn’t want Mario Odyssey to slide out of here without a mention though as it really is a good game and a definite step in the right direction for Mario.
Ultimate Chicken Horse
The ‘Tandem Teapot’ Award For Best Multiplayer Game
I don’t often talk about multiplayer games here as I’m generally a singleplayer gamer. However last year I was slightly less of a loner and played a few more couch co-op games. I’ve been getting into the Jackbox Party Pack games of late but it was Ultimate Chicken Horse that I enjoyed the most. It’s a platforming game that understands what developers feel when they build their levels: the joy of killing their players.
Tumblr media
Trying to build a level that you can complete but your enemies can’t is a difficult science. It usually involves a lot of badly thought out sawblades everywhere and more often than not makes the level impossible. So you all change a few things around until one sneaky person manages to break through. That’s one reason why I like Ultimate Chicken Horse so much, it doesn’t matter if you’re amazing at platforming. All that means is your friends are going to work harder to screw you over.
It’s a game to play in short bursts but it has a decent range of levels, all with differing challenges. When I hosted a game night, it was definitely one of the highlights. A decent game all round I’d say.
