Maybe I’d have a chance at finishing Nanowrimo if I accepted that I’m probably not going to be able to stick to just one project & instead made a Scrivener file and just put anything and everything I decided to write that month in there
Putting down book, pausing movie or TV show. Sitting for a moment to process and then yelling either in your head or quietly strained out loud as to not wake anyone up because it is three am and a giant ass plot twist comes or the MC says dumb shit. Then proceeding to pull almost every muscle in your body as you gesture wildly with your hands or move your, now bobble head of a head, so frantically you get whiplash worse than being in a car accident
borrower lives in an abandoned house, nothing too derelict, but secluded enough that there's really no need to fear any wildlife or humans and they have a pretty good set up going. That is, until a group of amateur ghost hunters/urban explorers show up and start fucking around with everything in the name of capturing something "spooky" on their camera for clickbait-y YouTube video.
Oh, they want a ghost, huh? How about something skittering in the walls. How about random flickers of power surges despite the breaker box being in the basement while they're on the second floor? Maybe they turn away for just a minute and suddenly their tripod is nudged two inches to the left. Did that vase sitting on the mantle just inexplicably fall to the floor and shatter? Why is the basement door slowly creaking open?
they wanted a show, the borrower is gonna give 'em a fucking show
I asked a few people which characters I remind them of and decided to drae there, here's the outcome! I agree with them all honestly. Only thing is- I know nothing about Seth, I've never seen Radiant but I'll just take the person who suggested him's word for it.
This drawing took me all day to complete on Monday! It was a heatwave too and I was melting but hey, I think it looks great so it was worth it.

A silver parachute drifts slowly to the ground. A medium container is attached with a note from Hunter Twill. Inside are a half-full canteen and crackers . The note reads: “Rainwater's safe. So am I.”
She’d barely left the school building behind, shoulder twinging and hurting with every move she made, when a beeping sounded from up above. Jeannie held her breath.
If she was being honest, she’d hoped for this more than she had expected it. Surya had told her it’d take perhaps a day before she’d get something, long enough for them to assess what she needed, to see what sort of situation she’d be in. It had taken three days, three days during which she now almost thought Hunter might not be watching over her.
The parachute drifted to the ground in front of her and Jeannie let it drop to the ground. She should’ve been grateful for the gift, but selfishly, she didn’t want a gift from Surya or whoever else. She wanted one from Hunter, the childish part of her inwardly stomping stubbornly.
A sign. She just wanted a sign.
Jeannie, send me something. A sign. Seriously.
Finally, hesitantly, she took a step forward, crouched down and reached for the box, brushing off the silvery fabric of the parachute. When she cracked open the box, she could spot a bottle filled with water, and a packet of crackers, the same one Seraphina had extended to her that first day in the ruin of the house.
And there was a note.
Even her uninjured hand shook as she reached for the neatly folded paper. She opened it, and her eyes flew over the words once, twice, three times, before they finally registered in her brain.
Rainwater’s safe. So am I.
A shaky breath left her lips. And then, Jeannie began to laugh. The watery kind, with tears in her eyes and a trembling bottom lip, but the weight that had rested on her heart was suddenly gone.
Rainwater’s safe. So am I.
Her gaze tilted skywards and she pressed the note close to her chest. “Thank you,” she whispered. “Thank you.”
Another breath left her mouth and she drew her bottom lip between her teeth to stop the trembling, despite the tears being of a happier nature. “I’ll be home soon.”
Let's remember this was when the fandom should've hated Will!
SO true! i was just thinking about this earlier, how the other girls's love interests learned about them becoming mermaids largely by accident, and immediately showed them unwavering support. will and bella are the only exception to this
with cleo and lewis, she desperately wants him to find out the truth but is trying her best to protect the secret. when he discovers she's a mermaid at miriam's party, he is taken aback for but a moment before he reaches out a hand to help her. he is quite incredulous afterwards but is more than happy to assist on all mermaid matters from that moment on. he has one or two missteps along the way where he doesn't know how to be a friend to the girls, but ultimately does everything in his power to show that he is trustworthy and dependable, especially to cleo
from the girls's perspective, zane's attempts to uncover the mermaids's secret are underhanded and meddlesome. from zane's perspective he is traumatised after almost drowning out at the lorelei wreck and willing to do anything to uncover the truth about the creature saved him. when he finds out rikki is a mermaid he turns his back on such endeavours in an instant and foils dr. denman's plans with his dad. when he finds out she is still a mermaid at the start of season two, he covers for her and chastises nate for splashing her with water before telling rikki that he doesn't care about any of it. he then proceeds to spend the entire rest of the season proving how supportive and reliable he is when it comes to mermaid business and we will not comment on season three since we handwave that canon around these parts
ash sucks as a love interest, but even he doesn't stoop so low as to force emma into the water when she insists upon going back to dry land and later apologises. he is more than a little demanding about her secret but, when emma finally tells him the truth entirely of her own volition, the only thing he does is smile and say 'cool.' presumably the audience is meant to read this as immediate and total acceptance of his girlfriends's mermaid identity, and we see him grinning next to zane and lewis in the very next scene as all three mermaids take to the waves
and then we get to will. i've ranted about this ad nauseum but in the immortal words of raymond holt
so we’re introduced to will after he goes diving out at mako one night and gets attacked by the water tentacle. the closer he gets to the girls, the clearer it becomes that he is the most vapid character in h2o canon the more suspicious he grows about the secret. he won’t wait for bella to share her true identity with him however, or even uncovers it by accident. bella tells him she can’t see him anymore and, instead of trying to understand that, he accuses her of lying and manipulates her by getting physically close to her and splashing water on her hand
bella’s response to this is quite revealing: her expression is overcome with horror at his betrayal, and she tells him that she trusted him in what is objectively a heartbreaking tone of voice. in the moment she tries to get away from him but he proceeds to follow her into the water and is horrified to learn that she is a mermaid. to add insult to injury bella is the one to apologise for hiding the secret, and will is the one who acts betrayed. he also insisted that he wouldn’t judge her and then proceeds to do just that; he won’t even tell her that he’ll keep her mermaid identity a secret and instead freezes her out after he is the one to force the reveal on her (!!)
i won’t even get into the whole ‘him refusing to share rikki’s whereabouts after she is abducted with cleo and bella and blackmailing them into telling him they’re mermaids’ because steam might actually start coming out of my ears. i wish i had a snappy conclusion but i don’t. i’m just forever angry at the way the h2o writers handled most of season three, and as such will never consider it canon. fuck will benjamin and justice for bella hartley!
Warriors: Power of Three: Sunrise by Erin Hunter.
About finding Midnight and Sol to get information about Ashfur’s death, Lionblaze and Hollyleaf on the journey while Jaypaw stays behind, and the truth behind the three’s birth.
I officially envision Tigerstar as Scar.
Love the way they curse,
Lmfaooo Jingostar or Ringostar?? Amirite ladiez?
Oooh plot twist. Hollyleaf?
“She looks just like how I feel”
“Why do I have to be brave all the time?”
“How was he supposed to make his own future if no cat would tell him anything?”
“What kind of power was it, to walk in other cats’ dreams, when you woke up still blind?”
Warriors: Power of Three: Dark River by Erin Hunter.
About Jaypaw discovering a skill he has of entering others’ minds, Riverclan being driven away from their land by Twolegs, Lionpaw meeting Tigerstar and Hawkfrost and having a crush on Heatherpaw, and Hollypaw trying to figure out how best the clan should listen to the warrior code.
This made me question what exactly is in the warrior code. It’s not like it’s written.
Why aren’t there any characters I actually like?
Tigerstar and Hawkfrost…why can’t they just be dead, yaknow?
Crowfeather and Leafpool.. it’s still such a sad situation.
“There was no way he was going to let the other Clans see him looking like a hedgehog.”
“Without light, you will only have your instincts.”
“some fear that speaking his destiny out loud might change it.”
“Be honest, Lionpaw. Don’t be afraid of the things you desire. You know what you think.”
“Was their friendship really worth that?”
“She hadn’t meant to be like that.”
“disbelief as the world closed in and life ebbed from his body“
Warriors: Power of Three: Outcast by Erin Hunter.
About the cats making a journey back to the mountains to help the Tribe cats from losing their territory. Lionpaw, Jaypaw, and Hollypaw feel a strong urge to go too.
Oh my goodness. I’ve been pronouncing it Twoh legs, instead of Two legs.
Poor misunderstood Crowfeather.
So many cats go from being arrogant to being scared and it’s like plssss.
Bless up Brambleclaw. He just remembers everyone.
Battles happen so quickly at the end.
“I wish you wouldn’t keep reading my mind.”
“meowing about old times.”
“he was glad of her silent support.”
“Sometimes a cloud is just a cloud.”
“ Yet they still sought for peace beside the water.”
Warriors: Power of Three: The Sight by Erin Hunter.
About Brambleclaw’s children. Hollypaw thinks she wants to be a medicine apprentice. Lionpaw is training to be a warrior. Jaypaw wanted to be a warrior until he realizes he might be destined to be a medicine cat.
It’s interesting to learn what was Jaykit’s problem, because originally thought he was just too small. How can he see in dreams if he were born blind?
The way these cats have to wake up every morning and get work done..can cats ever have depression? LOL.
Jaypaw being able to sense emotions and feelings is so cool. The other cats usually only mention the prickling of fear, but he is much more in tune. It reminds me of humans who can understand each other’s emotions better.
My heart gasped when I read the return of Graystripe. Happy!
“She was turning away from something she had set her heart on because she was not good enough.”
“though he couldn’t ignore the small glimmer of happiness that flickered in his chest.”
“Am I always going to be left behind?”
