congrats on 1k Finnie!!! u deserve all the hype!! I’m gonna throw myself in the ring for the event, respectfully requesting number 9
a little bit about me is that I’m 4’10 (pun intended), I have brown eyes, reaaallly long curly brown hair, I wear glasses (the dano riddler kind LMAO), my fashion sense basically Bella Swan from Twilight, I’m questioning my sexuality/bordering on unlabeled so I’m fine with anyone, I’m an INTP 5w6, and a Leo (I don’t know shit about astrology lol.)
my hobbies include:
- acting, which is ironic bc I can’t stand theater kids lmao
- writing, whether it be my cringe ass fanfics, or to my feelings (or lack there of), or to the dreams I have at night, I gotta always have it documented
- watching movies, specifically horror or comedy. If I have any free time, u can GUARANTEE u that I’m going to being at home watching a movie, or at the theater with my friends. If I could legally marry my favorite movie, I would.
personality wise, I come off as very blunt and have a really dry sense of humor to everyone I meet. When I’m in my element, I can’t help but let my wit get the better of me. I am legitimately confident in my capabilities and myself. I can almost always talk my way in or out of situations. I love cracking jokes at any given moment and I always enjoy making anyone laugh, I’ve been told that I have good comedic timing so obviously, I gotta keep going with it. I also curse a lot, like I need a censor bar around my mouth at all times lol. I’m not afraid to stand up for myself or my friends and honestly, I kinda enjoy to. I absolutely value humor and friendship the most, and they are what keep me going. If I could describe myself as 5 fictional characters, I’d be Mickey Milkovich (Shameless), MJ (MCU), Ruth Langmore (Ozark), Louise Belcher (Bob’s Burgers), and Beth Harmon (The Queen’s Gambit). My positive traits are humorous, competitive, straight-forward, creative, and quick-witted
on the flip side, when I’m in a newish setting or a setting where I’m off my game/ not feeling myself, I’m ice cold, rarely speaking to anyone and if I do, it’s venomous. I tend to isolate myself and obsessively throw myself into whatever it is I need to do and just be done with it. I try to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidence and hold myself to a high standard, becoming wildly competitive and forcing myself to be better than everyone, basically faking it till I make it (and it always works). I tend to hide and bottle up my emotions, and I’m scared of/ hate being emotionally vulnerable. My negative traits are obsessive, indecisive, aggressive, sadistic, and emotionally detached
…and I just realized I went on for waaay too long lmao sorry. congrats again on 1k!!!

i swear to you the height thing is a coincidence but i think a short couple are strong vibes. and he's a mama's boy, so the fact that your hair is long and curly like hers would probably be one of the first things that drew him in
we know he feels about glasses wearers, so... yeah
(side note: i feel you on the theatre kids one, i studied theatre at university and it made me realise i couldn't be a playwrite, because i cannot cope with actors)
ok so oswald has an absolute flair for the dramatics, and don't tell me he wouldn't make an excellent actor. you two could reenact scenes together and write your own plays or movies just for you two!
he strikes me as a diarist, so spending time together writing whatever you're writing while he catches up on his comings and goings in his little unpublished and just for him (for now) autobiography would be one of his favourite wind-down activities at the end of the day
oswald lives his entire life with main character energy and you can't convince me he didn't pick that up from obsessively watching movies about underdogs rising to the top and film noirs. he loves gore and brutality too, so a thriller or a horror would be perfect viewing material for you, and he'd definitely take you to the theatre on a date
ok so, it might be a nightmare putting the two of you together, but it could also potentially be the most fun. both of you are dry, humorous, experts in wit and sarcasm. charming enough to talk your way out of disaster, and into opportunity. together, you'd be a dynamic duo, perfect partners in crime. the confidence you would have separately and together would be insurmountable and intimidating, which oswald would find deeply romantic
little comments and sneaky jokes with the right timing are his forte too, i'm beginning to wonder if you aren't just the same person?
and the aggressive protection of yourself and others? come on, that's just him all over. and he might not swear frequently (although he might have if gotham was more risque) he does yell. a lot. and what extreme screaming match isn't complete without a few good fuck shit cock ass bastards in the mix?
speaking of friends, the loyalty and fierce protection of them would make it easy for him to trust you, which is so important to him. you're obviously a valuable asset in a friendship, and he would treat you as such
it's funny, i always think of oswald (specificalyl in gotham) as louise belcher! very much quick-witted and humorous, which you both are, and he's obviously extremely competitive, with high self-esteem and a belief he can conquer anything. he's not always straight-froward though, but that's something you can bring to the relationship that he can benefit from
he would understand the isolation and the cold attitude also though. it's a good facade to maintain when you're around new people, especially if you find it difficult to trust or open yourself up to them. a safety mechanism almost. it ties in with the holding yourself to a high-standard. he's dead set on being the king of gotham, a position he would gladly share with you if you could assist him in that professional and personable journey, which by the way, faking it till you make it? he's very familiar with it, umbrella boy to mayor after all
i doubt he'd feel the need to hide his emotions around someone like you who was so similar to him and so trustworthy, but he does that around others and wouldn't blame you for a second for trying not to be vulnerable around him, though he'd hope you'd warm up eventually
and please, your negative traits are all ones he holds in high-esteem within himself so get ready to have your ego boosted by him constantly praising you

okay, so I re-watched The Force Awakens.
-I wish the title of the movie had been more fitting. Yes, the Force awakens in Rey, specifically, but it would have been more intriguing to see the galaxy as either drained of the Force itself, or have something happen that boosts those with Force sensitivity. Anything to play with the familiar foundations of the worldbuilding and offer us something new and original.
-Lack of originality ends up being a huge problem for me in this film, but not in the way it did for a lot of other people.
-For one thing, I really loved the characters and the actors’ performances here. Yeah, there were plenty of lines and moments that spoke to the larger problems Disney has with storytelling (fanservice, nostalgia baiting, ~witty~ dialogue, style over substance, basically everything that has dragged the MCU into oblivion), but the characters have a pretty instantaneous appeal, whether new concepts or familiar ones.
-I actually enjoy that Rey and Kylo have clear parallels to Luke and Vader, respectively, mostly because they ultimately serve to highlight how different they are at their cores. Rey’s isolation and her desire to cling to her home planet, wanting to remain in familiar stasis, is a sharp contrast to Luke in ANH, and the story quickly reveals Kylo’s demeanor as an attempt to act like Vader, rather than him being a genuine article. It’s also interesting that Rey’s shown as someone running away from her role in the narrative, while Kylo’s someone who’s trying desperately to force himself into a role he doesn’t fit.
-This makes Poe and Finn’s characters refreshing, as they don’t perfectly fit into previous archetypes or roles. We’ve seen stormtroopers and rebel pilots before, but those are just jobs; Finn and Poe’s characters bring their own personalities and goals, and John Boyega and Oscar Isaac genuinely do have amazing character chemistry that brings their characters to life. Overall, it’s a good balance, but would be much better if Poe had been present and able to interact with the rest of the trio for more of the story.
-The issues come in with the actual setting and overarching conflict. It took me a lot longer to get through this movie than I thought it would, and I think most of it is because is doesn’t offer me enough engagement. Granted, when I saw it in theaters, with all the spectacle and excitement of seeing the old actors and revisiting the world, that wasn’t a huge problem. But now, it really, really is.
-Really, the only new things we get are the characters, but since they’re being put through a plot that’s almost identical to what we’ve seen before in ANH, and in basically the exact same setting, I got bored unnervingly fast.
-The biggest problem here is that, unlike with the characters and their parallels to past iterations, I cannot distinguish between the First Order vs. Resistance and the Empire vs. Rebellion. It makes me feel like nothing has changed since Return of the Jedi and it makes me wonder why--only for the movie to never tell me. There’s no effort made to explain any of it; it feels like the movie was so scared of the backlash towards the political focus in the Prequels, that it cut anything that could possibly clarify what the hell was going on in the Galaxy far far away.
-Is the First Order a terrorist group? Why do they seem to have legitimate control of a portion of the galaxy? Why does Hux talk about the Resistance like it’s a rebellion when it’s sanctioned by the New Republic? How on earth did a second Empire spring up?
-None of these things are even alluded to in quick one-liners. Not even in a lazy or dismissive way. No one says anything about Empire fanatics getting funding from, like, crime lords or something, or a split in loyalties after the Empire fell. In fact, the movie actually completely removes the New Republic entirely by blowing up FIVE WHOLE PLANETS.
-AND THEN WE NEVER TALK ABOUT IT AGAIN.
-FIVE PLANETS.
-FIVE. FUCKING. PLANETS.
-Like holy shit, even ANH had political discussions. Imperial officers are concerned about Vader taking Leia into custody because of her political ties. There’s a whole scene where Tarkin announces that the Emperor disbanded the Senate, officially removing the last shred of democracy in the Galaxy. We even get hints about the Jedi Purge when everyone in the room tries to insult Vader’s commitment to the Force. Could we not have slipped anything like this into the Sequels?
-Also, even with our new characters, there’s just no interest for me in seeing “underdog rebellion overcomes tyrannical system” stretched over another three movies, when that JUST happened. Literally everything Leia and Luke and Han did is just undone here, all because the writers didn’t want to come up with something new lest they make the fanbase mad.
-The only risk they actually took was in having Han and Leia split up, which in itself is just a reset; Han is smuggling a bunch of creatures with names I don’t care to remember, and Leia looks like she’s been leading the exact same rebellion for 30+ years. It doesn’t actually feel new.
-I’m not even one of those people who hates the Han and Leia separation, necessarily; I’m not big on how it’s handled, but I could buy it if the film actively worked to sell it to me. It doesn’t.
-But it could have! Emphasize the difficulty Leia had rebuilding after the Empire, how much time she spent working with the New Republic; examine how Han struggled to relate to his Force sensitive son, maybe even that he didn’t want him training to be a Jedi at all. I don’t care about the supplementary materials that could explain everything perfectly, dammit, put it in your movie.
-Sorry I still can’t get over it. Five planets.
-They blew up five planets.
-Five.
-Planets.
-This has no consequence in this movie. Shouldn’t that have fucked with the Force? With the entire balance of the universe? That was mass genocide.
-Watching the scene where Rey grabs Anakin’s lightsaber, I genuinely think she was going to end up being Luke’s daughter. That’s also why I think the film doesn’t introduce another Skywalker/Solo child; the next generation was probably meant to be Rey and Ben.
-Likewise, the focus put on Finn and the lightsaber makes me think he was definitely going to be Force sensitive.
-I will say, we do get fulfilling arcs for some of the new characters (save Poe, who again, I think was underutilized and should have stuck with the main trio); Finn goes from wanting to run away to staying and fighting for Rey; Rey goes from wanting to run away to relying on the Force powers that scared her so badly; Kylo manages to finally suppress the light and murders his father (yes this is a negative development, but it’s still development).
-I think these arcs are (at least some of) the reasons why people had so many problem with TLJ. Rey gets a more focused storyline, but for Finn and Kylo, they sort of just repeat their arcs in this movie.
-There are a lot of moments in this movie that I really enjoy, but I’m noticing they’re mostly things that still could have happened in a better, more interesting story. Finn’s introduction, Rey refusing to sell BB8, Snoke’s hologram being genuinely creepy, Hux and Kylo having equal ranking and just fucking hating each other, Rey starting to see Han as a surrogate father, Finn and Rey’s dynamic, Finn and Poe’s dynamic, Han and Leia’s goodbye, Hux’s chillingly fanatic speech to the stormtroopers, Han’s emotional death, the final lightsaber duel with Finn vs. Kylo then Rey vs. Kylo, etc. All enjoyable, and yet...
-All these moments feel so suffocated by just how basic the actual story is. Everything that wasn’t Disney cashing in past nostalgia just felt like them saying “see, we’re not doing what the Prequels did,” then running us through A New Hope but with modern special effects. I don’t feel the stakes the way I should, I never have a deeper connection to the current conflict because I don’t know what exactly these two sides are other than “good versus bad”. Even the potential and intrigue provided by the new characters always feels like it’s being interrupted, lest we spend too much time on something unfamiliar.
-Most of my positive experience in watching this movie is in hearing potentially interesting ideas/concepts that it promises to expand on later... except now, I know they won’t be. The one severe decision this movie makes is in destroying five planets, and that ends up equating to nothing more than set dressing.
-Five planets.
-What the fuck.
-For my last thought: this movie feels surprisingly less meme worthy than most. Other than Kylo destroying random shit when he’s mad, Han’s “that’s not how the Force works,” and “the garbage will do,” idk man. Underwhelming.

ANTMAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA SPOILERS
More unasked for thoughts on this movie. (Except this time I remember to put it on my thoughts about movie/shows blog instead of my main)
I wish the og? Kang had survived. Like, I’m sure the other Kang’s are cool, but I really liked him as the villain. Also, with Kang being the big and of phase five. (Is it phase 4 or 5? I honestly don’t know.) with him being the big bad though, I can’t help but feel like killing off the Kang that literally all of the other Kang’s were so scared of they banished him to the quantum realm was a mistake. Like, they already (most likely) successfully took down him, how are other Kang’s who aren’t as scary going to feel like much of a threat?
Especially since there will be multiple. Like, I realize the Kang we’ve seen so far could be an outlier, but I’m not so sure they wont be able to be divided against each other. (Then again, them being divided against each other would most likely cause just as much if not more damage then them working together, given the whole monologue at the end of Loki.)
Also, Cassie was great and I love her.
I’m not necessarily an expert on Modok but I liked the what they did with him. Also, the part where Scott asked “Shouldn’t it be Modofk?” was perfect. Ive literally asked myself the same thing ever since he showed up in EMH.
I really liked the family dynamic they had in the movie.
Hope and Scott’s relationship actually had like, some real substance to it this time. Granted, it is very little but their romance is still much more believable than in the previous movies. (Which I mean the bar could not be lower there and it still feels a bit like “what?” but not as much as in the previous movies. Their relationship is mostly like, subtly implied and definitely supported and kind of lifted up via the overall family dynamic everyone had, but it still felt a bit forced at the end. I am slowly coming around to it maybe though? Like, I no longer passively dislike it. Instead I passively accept it.
The side characters were great, fun to see, and I loved them. I actually teared up when torture laser beam for a head guy was killed.
There were a few brilliant scenes that I especially enjoyed or found funny.
First off, like, just put yourself in Scott Lang’s shoes for a minute. All sorts of things weird unbelievable stuff has happened in your life and now you’re in the quantum realm and you lost sight of your daughter after being captured by these strange quantum realm people. And then when he finally sees her, he sees this teenage girl with what looks like blood dripping down her chin and she just cheerily says
“Drink the ooze!”
And then the camera cuts away. Hilarious.
“Those buildings are alive?!”
“What, are yours dead?” said with genuine concern. Beautiful.
The surprise actor for Chidi and pretty much everything when it came to his telepathy.
“How many holes do you?”
*excitedly after being shot a lot* “I HAVE HOLES” and then turning into a vacuum cleaner and just straight up going eldritch something on these guys
Also, Darren’s death. My response to that entire conversation was basically to laugh and ask myself what the fuck? I’m pretty sure Darren said some of that stuff just to mess with Scott but I’m not sure.
I want revenge and im going to kill you and your daughter! “You’re being a dick.” “Yeah but I don’t know what else to do.” “…just stop” great idea, thanks. And immediately doing a 180 and helping your previous sworn enemies.
Also, Kang was great, and a good villain and I was actually like, a bit scared of him. I mean, I still havent seen Wakanda Forever (I know and I hate that about me too) so I can’t comment on Namor and while Killmonger was a good MCU villain Kang is a good villain. And like, those are two very different things. So that was refreshing to see.
Back to Kang I don’t know how the rest of this phase will play out. Like, how will the, for lack of a better term, council of Kang, react and what will they do? Besides maybe destroying the multiverse according to prime Kang. (Speaking of, the Kang in this is just like, a younger version then the one that Sylvie killed in Loki right? It’s never outright stated but it seems pretty clear.)

Agatha Harkness Was Right, And Here’s Why
Alright. Finally had to sit down and write my way out of this quiet, internal temper tantrum, and a few people were interested in seeing what I had to say, so I present to you:
Agatha Harkness Was Right, And Here’s Why
Disclaimer: MASSIVE spoilers for the entirety of WandaVision, and I am not nice about it.
I’ll start off by saying that, for all its foibles, WandaVision was genuinely a good example of a property within the MCU/Disney umbrella that stepped out of the usual ‘good guys fight bad guys action extravaganza’ in a way that pushed the envelope. The pseudo-horror aspect of the first few episodes is something I would really love to see engaged with on a more thoughtful basis in future projects.
I would say that it proved to be more than a vehicle to promote toys, but… well…
Tumblr media
Yeah. Anyway.
I’ll assume that you watched WandaVision if you’re reading this, but quick recap: In the aftermath of ‘the Blip,’ Wanda is left broken and alone with no one in her corner. Her biggest mentor willingly abandoned his team to get his own ‘happy’ ending (do not get me started on Steve, that’s a document in and of itself), her other biggest mentor is probably off enjoying his family while ignoring the incredibly racist killing spree he’s been on for the past five years, and her lover is dead. When she goes to claim the body, she’s told nuh-uh, that’s government property, please leave.
So she goes to a plot of land in the middle of some nowhere town in New Jersey, which Vision apparently bought despite the fact they were living a pretty decently comfortable life in Scotland, where she looks at the deed that Vision drew a heart on and wrote ‘To Grow Old In’. Very sweet. Kind of weird, considering nothing of this caliber had ever been suggested for either of their characters and they’d been actively running from specifically the U.S. authorities? But sweet.
Tumblr media
She has a breakdown and, in her grief, contains the entire town of Westview and all 3,892 of the people in it in her own personal paradise, where nothing bad ever happens beyond sitcom hijinks, no one dies, and every problem is tied up and neatly dealt with by the end of an ‘episode’. Except we learn that this is only paradise to Wanda, who apparently shares the aspect of having to relate everything to her favourite pop culture with Tony, because everyone else in Westview is more or less being psychologically tortured by the incredible amount of pain she’s in, forced to be puppeted actors to make her happy.
Bear in mind, Westview might have been bigger at some point - we have no idea how many people survived the Blip, or how many have been brought back to life within the past few weeks of the current setting. Either way, this is a town that has already dealt with a lot of trauma being dragged into yet another awful, much more specific kind of emotional damage, thanks to ‘the heroes’. Nice.
Tumblr media
Agatha Harkness, a witch who’s been up to who-knows-what in the 340 years since she drained the coven that tried to kill her for getting a little too ambitious into jerky, feels the massive expenditure of magical power and decides to investigate. All the while, she carefully uses her own magic to try and peek into Wanda’s psyche, her motivations, all while keeping up appearances and not letting slip that anything is amiss.
I’ll point out that she’s no saint here, either - she specifically keeps one Westview resident at her mercy, and knows what’s happening to the rest of them, but doesn’t attempt to stop it. I’ll chalk that up to her pragmatism; their ‘sacrifice’ was fine to her as long as she could figure out how Wanda could have done something so unheard of in terms of power.
Tumblr media
What we come to learn over the course of the show is that, given everything that happened, Wanda didn’t mean to take over an entire town and tool it into her own personal slice of heaven. She very quickly became aware of it; we know that she knows it’s her own personal bubble as soon as episode three, when she’s confronting Monica about how the latter could possibly know about Ultron. Wanda is made further aware of how much damage this is inflicting on others in episode five, when Vision himself tells her that these people are scared. But still, she has everything handled! It’s okay! The outside world is worse, trust her!
Her handling of the question, ‘where are all the children of Westview,’ is one that bears some thinking - and, y’know, kind of more than a little concern. They’re allowed to walk around as part of the ‘Halloween special,’ but as Vision walks further and further out towards the edges of town where Wanda doesn’t have as much full control, people are just frozen in place, or conducting the same few seconds of action over and over. And fully aware of being trapped.
Tumblr media
How are they being sustained? Eating, sleeping? If someone isn’t part of her storyline, is she just locking them down into a coma? What made Wanda decide that keeping the children ‘out of the way’ was somehow kinder than involving them, especially given her later argument that she’s been trying to keep the entire town safe and happy?
The fact of the matter is, she only actually starts to feel remorse for any of this after she’s confronted with the fact that, after weeks of being at her mercy, the townspeople of Westview would rather be dead than endure another moment of having to play nice for her enjoyment. She finally opens the ‘bubble’ to let them out - which leads to the ‘epic’ finale of three different entities trying to take down Wanda and her happy family: the S.W.O.R.D. military led by Hayward, the White Vision, and Agatha.
Tumblr media
Winding back to how we got here: after Agatha uses her own trapped resident, Ralph Bohner (who, given his casting and the props in place during the last episode, I’m willing to bet is actually the missing witness protection person Jimmy was looking for) in an attempt to lure out Wanda’s reasoning - and fails - she’s pretty much done pretending. She tricks Wanda into her basement, nullifies her powers, and makes her face her own past to get to the truth of the matter.
Not going to lie, favourite moment of the show. Kathryn Hahn killed Agatha’s slightly-amused-slightly-irritated observations about Wanda’s coping mechanisms, and the whole arrangement was extremely meta. I would have paid real money dollars to see her do the same thing to the likes of Tony, Strange, and Loki. Hell, even just having her meet the rest of the Avengers? Augh. If wishes were fishes.
When Agatha comes to the conclusion that Wanda is the vaunted, nigh-indestructible force of nature that she’s literally spent her entire life reading about is the ultimate source of chaos magic and will likely bring about the end of the world, she’s pretty understandably taken aback. To that matter, the fact that Wanda… has very little control over any of it, and is using what she does understand to play housemaker? After how long Agatha has spent learning control, hiding in plain sight, just to be child’s play compared to what Wanda has at her fingertips? I’d be pretty pissed off, too!
Tumblr media
The way that WandaVision handled both of the major ‘fights’ - Vision versus White Vision ending in philosophy, and Wanda ending up beating Agatha at her own game of deception - is excellent. A little grating that they had to go with the beat down angle before they got there, but this is MCU; punches and thrown cars had to get shoved in somewhere. And, given that this series very much played with the idea of grey morality, I was sort of hopeful that Agatha would end up in a not-quite stalemate arrangement with Wanda. She’s not as powerful as the Scarlet Witch, but she has the know-how that Wanda sorely lacks; in recompense for her own deeds, she would be able to teach what she knows while also kind of scheming on her own time.
Y’know, like what they did with rehabilitating Loki?
Tumblr media
Except that Wanda, who has just gone through the entire rigamarole of coming to terms with the fact that she trapped thousands of people into a nightmare scenario against their will, rendering them helpless to her mercy… traps Agatha into a nightmare scenario against her will, rendering her helpless to Wanda’s mercy.
Tumblr media
That moment actually shook me. Oh, my god. We’re supposed to still look at Wanda as a good guy after this?
This isn’t even covering the incredibly awful confrontation with her and Vision where she tries to gaslight him into believing that everything is A-OK, or the fact that the person she gets most violent with (apart from Agatha) is Monica Rambeau, a black woman who spends most of the show bending over backwards trying to say that what Wanda is doing is understandable, justified, and just needs a gentle touch to be dealt with.
That could be its own document, too - how Monica, much as she’s incredible and definitely looks to be a really exciting addition to the MCU roster, more or less gets used as the Good One to absolve and enable Wanda’s actions. One of her last lines to Wanda, after seeing how the people of Westview (rightfully) look at Wanda like she’s monstrous, is “they’ll never know what you sacrificed.”
Tumblr media
Sacrificed what? The fake husband and fake kids she made out of her own compulsion to pretend that everything is okay? None of that would have existed if she’d been given the proper resources to actually cope with how much loss she’s had to deal with. None of that would have existed if she hadn’t caused this problem in the first place.
In the end, Wanda flies off in her fancy new gear before the FBI shows up, avoiding any real consequences to her actions - which has pretty much been the running theme of her character ever since she was introduced to the MCU in Age of Ultron. The worst kind of direct consequence she’s ever gotten was being grounded to her room for a while, then kept in the Raft for, like, maybe a day - and both times, she was broken out post-haste.
Meanwhile, she worsened the issues in Sokovia (which, I will say upfront, was Tony’s fault to begin with), unleashed the Hulk on Johannesburg, got a pretty significant amount of civilians killed as bystanders in Lagos (hey, how come Wanda keeps turning a lot of black people into casualties?), and stood back in Wakanda to let their people try to fight off Thanos from getting to Vision until it was clear that there was no other option than for her to get involved.
Great Power Comes With No Responsibility At All, Actually.
Wanda, in the several years she has maintained her identity as an Avenger, has proven time and time again that she takes on innumerable risks without any full understanding of what they mean, allows others to take on the brunt of the fallout for her, and looks sad until she’s forgiven and moves on to the next problem. She has no business casually throwing around the kind of power that being the Scarlet Witch entails, not until she’s actually made any kind of headway into making reparations for what she’s done and tried, really tried, to get a handle on what she’s capable of.
Which she’s apparently doing in the last post-credits scene, astral reading the literal Book of the Damned on her lonesome in the mountains, but… without anyone to guide her, or give her any kind of boundary?
[I ran out of images I could post, but you know exactly what image I am referring to here]
Agatha Harkness was right. And that should terrify everybody that has to deal with Wanda in the future.
(P.S. Do we know if she actually even killed that dog? We never see her holding anything but a blanket, and characters go in and out of that show all the time. Granted, she wasn’t great with the cicada-turned-bird... hmm.)
Additional Notes:
“Well, you’re a Tony Stan, of course you think Wanda’s a villain”
I like Tony because he’s such an awful mess, and the narrative isn’t exactly kind about telling him what a piece of shit he can be! He reaped a lot of problems, created practically half the villains in the MCU, and ended up dying a martyred hero. Thanks to being the tent pole by which this franchise hoisted itself into a cultural powerhouse, he will always be their golden savior. If you want to read about how he’s the true villain of this entire affair, feel free to look up any number of takedown pieces about him that are out there. He’s a dick. I will never “uwu sad baby who did nothing wrong ever 🥺” him the way people do about Wanda.
“Why are you so pressed about this”
Because something as good in concept as WandaVision could and should have been about anyone other than the whitewashed, antisemitic take on Wanda Maximoff that MCU brought upon us. They put crucifixes on her wall in Civil War, for fuck’s sake!
“Weren’t you mad about them not including Aaron Taylor-Johnson”
At this point, I am almost kind of relieved the real Pietro wasn’t resurrected for this, because god knows they probably would have killed him all over again just to inflict that much more pain on his sister.
“Anything else you’d like to tell us, turbo nerd”
This was literally itching at me all weekend to write, so it’s more or less just to get it off my chest. If you powered your way through it, uh… thanks? Sorry if I yucked your yums, but I tried to be as clear with the disclaimer as I could. 🤷‍♂️

Let’s finally talk about Bucky in THAT scene.
The scene where Bucky realizes he’s no longer under mind control hits a visceral punch in a way few other things ever have to me in the MCU. I can’t say enough about Sebastian Stan’s acting because you could tell he threw his heart into this scene and is a natural at showing emotion facially. This is one of the few times I’ve ever seen a male character in a comic based movie cry from their heart. Bucky isn’t trying to be strong or controlled in front of Ayo like we’ve seen him act in front of others, this is legitimately what he’s feeling. This is a person who is exhausted and scared and completely broken. When Bucky interacts with Steve he always seemed just tired and resigned. Like he was keeping it together not to worry people and his life was such a hellhole he was just sort of numb. THIS is the real emotion. He’s terrified someone is going to control him again, use him to hurt people, make him do things he can’t control and can’t remember. He’s so tired and defeated he doesn’t even trust Shuri’s treatment. His “this isn’t going to work” as he careens towards a panic attack is desperate. Obviously Ayo isn’t going to let him hurt anyone (and wouldn’t she be the one in charge of his commands given that she’s giving the code?), but it’s the lack of self agency we see just start to break him. Even the threat of that from someone he clearly trusts pushes him into panic territory. This is the most clear vision we’ve had of what the abuse he’s gone under has done to Bucky mentally. This is a lot of PTSD build up. Remember he was even showing signs of it back in WWII from his INITIAL capture and torture. The panicked bracing himself to face what he knows is coming, the flashbacks, the tears just out of fear.
And then it doesn’t happen. The slightly shocked look up at Ayo that goes immediately to the quivering lip and just sobbing. This is just such a GENUINE reaction that I’m shocked Disney even allowed it. It’s the crying of a broken heart that is just letting loose. I love Ayo here because you can see how happy she is for Bucky. I’m not sure how close they are, though I don’t think it would be a stretch to assume she was his caretaker since she’s the one whose taken him out to the middle of nowhere and who he even trust enough to try this experiment (it also makes sense that she’d be the one sent to deal with Bucky over the Zemo situation later on if they did have a relationship which is why...whoo boy his betrayal of her cuts so deep and YOU HAD BETTER FIX THIS BUCKY). Also taking a stab at saying this would make sense in their personal fight later on. Bucky enters that fight rather casual as if he’s just trying to stop her and only looks annoyed when she attacks him more aggressively. Hence his look of shock when she literally disarms him. It’s the reaction of someone who sincerely didn’t think the other person would react the way they did, which is why I feel like there was some sort of personal relationship there. So Bucky sobbing in front of her...yeah I think she was someone he trusted. And she clearly gets what this means for Bucky. The sheer exhaustion and finally relief.
And that’s where the scene ends up. Bucky standing by himself genuinely smiling and laughing and crying just out of sheer relief. He’s free of a demon that has cost him decades and there’s joy there along with this pile up of tears and laughter. And this whole scene is such a gut punch because a lot of us understand that feeling of being so relieved we don’t even know how to react. This scene was important. It was beautifully acted and it was vital in allowing us to see a character just get the catharsis he deserved.

Y/N- Your name
Y/L/N- Your Last Name
                                  ----------------------------
Three moons shined over your new room one after the other, observing its slow but sure change. A white canvas starting to turn into a personal expression of ownership and personality. Working with Dr. Banner was quite enjoyable. It was you two at first till Tony joined in, showing you little tricks that increased your productivity by 50%. Amazing what one could do with an experienced teacher. You got used to the gym, going on your own at this point. Anxiety now a part of the past. The first week in the compound felt like more than a month. Cups and mugs, kitchen and rooms, you memorized it all by heart – a surprise even to some of the Avengers still struggling with it. Your brain but a sponge for all important information.
Peeking inside your room, the sun gently warmed up your skin, awaking you to a missed call from Nea. Your fingers lazily, based on touch memory, rung her phone back.
“Why don’t you pick up when I call you?” she lectured you in the mic
“Because unlike your grand majesty vampire Nea, we mortals need sleep to function.” You murmured in a groggy tone “Maybe share your ambrosia with me next time.”
“They don’t offer super soldier serum energy drinks there?”
“No.” your voice sounded like two stones being grinded together. Palm rubbed over your eyes, leaning your body on that exact elbow seconds later “What do you want? It’s 6 fucking AM.”
“To have breakfast together grumpy.” Nea had a devilish tone, who knew what she was thinking in that pretty head of hers again.
“Now!?”
“No, no. At 9 maybe. Same place we usually go to.” It took a bit of convincing, but you ended up saying yes “See ya later sugar.” The beep following her voice made you throw the phone to the side and puff out, body falling back on the mattress. Your eyes shot open again a few cloud movements later, when you jumped off the bed and into the bathroom. Your gaze landed on the reflection, hair looking like you had an exciting night – wrong by a mile.
6AM or not, you couldn’t fall asleep anymore, so what was the next best thing? Getting training over while everyone was hopefully still sleeping. Less embarrassment when you miss the punching bag and face plant in it – again.
Workout clothes on your back, bag in hand and a big chug of water – off to the elevator for your exhausted self. Numbers appearing into the little screen one after the other, counting down the floors till you smelled that familiar cleaner. At this point it did the same job as a preworkout powder. Throwing the duffle bag on a bench, you dragged yourself around the gym - thrilled by the emptiness.
“Lovely.” Your voice rung out breathy with relieve. Some cardio later you began your usual workout program designed by yours truly the trio of demons - Nat, Steve and Bucky who in more than one way was the father of the shittiest things you had to do. What normal human being does upside-down crunches?
White chalk enveloped your fist in a cloud, as it made contact with the punching bag. The sheer force pushing back farther with each powerful blow. You huffed and puffed bearing the exhaustion starting to slowly drop and pile in your system. The little trickster in your head began hypnotizing you, making giving up or stopping now such a sweet idea, only one choice away. Yet if you didn’t finish up the daily routine you knew they would catch you and the penalty one was far from pleasant. Better the lesser evil than Satan himself.
“Glad to see you are not training your face for once.” The voice vibrated with an amused bass, conducted by the heavy boots shacking up the room with the same depth.
“Ha, ha.” Your skin made contact with the leather at the last word, taking the object off the chains in one clean swoop “Funny Sergeant. So much so I didn’t even laugh.” Fingers wrapped around your wrists as the punching-bag rested on the floor after its ceremonial thump, making sure there was no damage you could have missed with the lack of pain.
His eyes enveloped your arm, running over your shoulder and to your face, no thought behind his blue eyes. Almost like a force of habit to check for something. Even if his body frame was big you could never noticed him moving, which was scary at first. Bucky could be anywhere at anytime with no sign at all.
“What got you up this early?” he grabbed a second punching bag and threw it on the hook, filling the huge gym hall with the sound of metal hitting metal “Night…terrors?” the sentence came out like a small whisper, hoping you didn’t catch it.
“Nope si-“
“Do I make you uncomfortable?” your words stuck on top of your tongue, just shaking your head “ Then why don’t you use my name the same way you call Steve and Natasha?” your eyes looked at him for a moment, before grabbing the weights from the side and tying them up to your waistline. His head turned to the side, somehow making him feel stupid for letting such a thing leave his lips. A coldblooded soldier, scared of a request.
“I actually had a goodnight sleep, that is until my best friend called me at 6am.” Your body pushed off the floor, chains singing out, tapping on your thighs.
“I see.”
Palms firm on the bar, your neck crooked a bit to catch a glimpse of his sagging posture before refocusing in front.
“How did you sleep…- Bucky?” the blue color in his eyes twinkled with delight, maybe a hint of pleasure at how his name sounded coming out from your lips, with that sweet tone he seemed drawn to the past days. It felt almost like he longed to hear it again from decades ago.
“I slept.” His voice was colored with need to cover his lie with a coat of truth
“Doesn’t look-“ you pulled yourself up the bar “- like you did much of that. Trouble sleeping too?”
Bucky’s fist kept hitting the bag at the same speed you were doing pull ups close by. Two sounds, hand in had married to a familiar rhythm intertwined by silence. His grunts sending a chill down your neck, convulsing it back a bit. It felt almost like his fingers were inches from touching you skin, the area blazing.
“Ugh.” You whined out, his ear twitching in your direction. The thud followed your body walking past him to your bag “I will go take a shower seeing how it is 8 already. Time sure passes fast with you Bucky.” A giggle rung out tugging on a smile. His lips parted, but he gave himself an unaffected façade, even if his heart was doing leaps.
“I don’t talk much.”
“Well maybe if you actually slept more, you would.” Scolding and serious about health issues with this man child, had become a daily occurrence. Seeing how he didn’t even try to lay down. “See ya later.” You waved the back of your hand at him, walking away.
The showers in the compound were amazing. Everyone in the Avengers had their own one. Your shampoo and products were already resting inside waiting for you to jump in. It was a co-ed bathroom, but usually most of you guys had a different schedule so no encounters. Well maybe once or twice with Natasha, but it was fun aside from her teasing. The warm skin on your heel cooled down immediately after it made contact with the light navy tiles.
“Ohhh.” Your muscles made you spasm for a minute before adjusting to the temperature. Water running over your body, relaxing every bit of your strained figure, droplets gently massaging the pain from the inside out rhythmically. The stream pulled your hair down, elongating it with each pass over. You felt your arm lean onto the wall in front, just to enjoy the full effect of the radiating warmth, opening up your sinuses. Eyes slowly closing, taking you to a safe space, almost away from this world and back into another.
After what felt like an eternity of alone time in the gym, Bucky had stopped working out just standing there. He had no more motivation. Fist draped with the soft material of the towel, he made his way to the shared showers before his body froze. Running water caught him off guard, but what laid the finishing blow was the delicious smell of flowers and fruits filling up his senses. Usually faint to people, but he was enhanced – a gift on missions, a knife to his chest when it came to things like these. He took a deep breath, trying to swallow the forming lump in his throat. Bucky didn’t know why this was so difficult for him. He had been in here with others before, but nothing made his blood flow faster than right now.
“Bucky?” your voice shook him out of his daze, nowhere to run anymore.
“Yeah. Sorry I didn’t know you were still here.” Your face flushed red upon hearing him actually answer, for a second you thought it was just a random sound. His heavy footsteps echoed on purpose, almost like he wanted you to know where he was exactly, so you would feel less uncomfortable or frightened. Eyes shooting in the direction of your door, where he seemed to have stopped.
“Something wrong?” your voice pitched with his presence so close to your naked body
“My shower is next to Sam and Steve on the other end, but-“ he stopped opening the door to the one positioned right next to you. “ My name is right here.” It took you a minute to register what could have happened, before a forced laugh pushed out your throat
“Tony got bored I guess.” He always pulled stunts like this from what you saw and were told by others. Pepper made sure to warn you, but you didn’t think he would go this far. Then again, why were you nervous in the first place anyways? Who cares, right? You knew Bucky wouldn’t do anything, he was just a puppy with a scary outer shell. Or maybe you wanted something - a thought turning your eyes a bit dark, glazed over almost.
“I swear, he needs his ass beat.” Bucky growled which didn’t help your situation or thoughts “I will wait for you outside.” Pressing your lips together you held in a thought, that just couldn’t sit still. Its metaphorical fingers pried an escape open.
“It’s ok. I trust you, plus we are team mates Bucky. I don’t think it will always be a nice encounter for us if I started going on missions soon.”
Tense air, steam filling not only the room but also your mind. Damn it! You cursed at yourself, but that soon dissolved the moment you heard the click and water hitting the tiles. For a moment air couldn’t come out of you, only the humidity in the room running over both your bodies.
Gathering yourself together, the memory of your breakfast plans harnessed you into action. Your finger flicked the lid of the bottle open, pouring some onto your sponge. Cutting the water flow, you began rubbing it all over your body, bubbles forming a thin fabric like veil over your figure. Taking in the ambiance of the situation, you could smell that familiar scent that usually came off Bucky – almost relaxing you out of instinct.
“That is a nice shampoo you have there.” You spoke up. Bucky wasn’t a stranger, plus small talk could ease your nerves more. In your mind you were the only one feeling weird – far from the truth.
“It’s a body wash.” He said “I use it for both.”
“You can’t do that!” and just like that anxiety flew out of the window like it wasn’t here, in your chest at all “ That will dry your hair out!”
“It does the job. I don’t mind.”
“Well you should. I know it’s probably too much work for you, but you gotta put some care in yourself too Bucky. This is a terrorist attack to your scalp!”
“You seem very enthusiastic about this subject.” He laughed out, catching you of guard. He was having too much fun and you weren’t having any of it. Bucky should be taking you seriously. Pursing out your lips, the little devil on your shoulder crawled to your ear and whispered with an alluring voice. The corners of your lips curled up in the same evil smirk, as your fingers silently grabbed your mango ice cream with essential oils, shampoo. Tiptoeing over to the wall dividing you, you reached over pouring some on top of his head, while Bucky was busy explaining how it is a waste of time for him. Palm over your lips grasping your jaw, you tried to not let out even the smallest peep, no matter how much you wanted to bust out laughing – he would find out. The sergeant’s big hands rubbed the product into his long hair, before bringing his fingers to his nose and catching your snickering from the other side. A new found confidence started filling your blood circulation with adrenalin.
Bucky didn’t say anything, he used your lack of concentration to do exactly the same. It took you faster to figure it out, his shampoo already soaked up into your hair, roots and scalp.
“Barnes!” a hostile hiss parting your mouth, mad at his childish behavior even thought you were the one that started it in the first place.
“An eye for an eye doll.” You could practically feel him smirking. Switching the game on you, it wasn’t fun being on the receiving end.
“Did you peep on me!” he laughed out and denied , seeing how riled up you were – feeding his inner self
“Don’t let yourself fall prey to your primal instincts James.” This was the first time you used his first, real name. You wanted to tease him, he always acted like a kid so pushing his buttons wouldn’t be something too difficult to achieve. On the other side, fire lit up in his chest, flowing like lava all over his body, skin radiating waves off heat. Bucky’s eyes shot up almost over the wall, dark.
“Oh trust me doll, this wall isn’t high enough or strong enough if I truly wanted to take your figure in.” His palm hit the top of the only barrier between you two, proving his point. The tiles almost cracked under his pressure “If I wanted to I easily could.” Showing just how tall and massive he actually was. The water almost not hitting the floor could give you a good idea about his posture. The image of his back flexing in that pose intoxicated your mind, but you weren’t ready to give up the crown now.
“Don’t be ashamed Bucky. You lack a few years of experience sleeping through them. Happens, no one will put it against you.” Hitting him right in the manhood, low blow even if he was 100+ years.
“Say that after you have experienced me doll. 40s James couldn’t do to you the things super soldier me can.” Your voice hitched upon that whole sentence, the confidence in this man. You heard Steve joking about this from time to time, but coming directly from Bucky was a whole other thing. The shower felt like ages, when you stepped out wrapping the towel around yourself as tight as possible. Not taking your chance with meeting him you dashed towards the door, almost slipping.
“Careful doll face.” his right hand holding you by the waist, chest pressed into you. He had only one towel around his hips dangerously close to sliding off his hips and thick thighs. The water from his hair dripping onto your chest, fixed hungry gaze onto you. “Cat got your tongue? You were so talkative with that wall between us.” A light push and you found yourself back onto your feet and scrambling to get out to the lockers and to your room.
You didn’t want to give yourself a moment to process what happened, so you got dressed and ran off to your destination. Flying through the crowds almost, leaving the situation streets behind.
“Wow wow!” Nea’s hands flew up when your body jumped into the booth she saved for you two “What got you all riled up?”
“I am NOT!” strenuous notes hitting her right in the face.
“Ok…so not the case then. I already ordered your usual. Mind?” you shook your head, leaving your light green bag close to you, trying to calm down. “So.” Leaning onto the soft pads on her palms, Nea eyed you up and down feeling embarrassment oozing out “ Did you break something or someone?”
“No, No. Can you just, drop it?” mimicking her posture you threw your face in your hands, wishing to A) go back in time or B) just disappear from the face of the Earth.
“I was going to but...” pulling her body back, letting it lean on the chair, she scanned “Let me guess. You dressed up in less than 10min, ran here for the same amount of time AND.” Her nose found its way to your hair, making you jump back protectively “You smell like a man, not a boy. A man. Not to mention your red face.” Nea paused, letting you take in her wave of words “Grab a glass of water and let’s see if it will evaporate. Tssssss burning.”
“Your order.” A waitress rolled up with your food. Thanking her, you flashed a forced smile watching her walk away.
“Spill it! Who was it?” arrows were being shot at you. Nea was your best friend. If you didn’t tell her, who would you? After a lot of consideration you sighed, giving her the sign she needed to get ready for this.
An explanation later
“You got cocky.” Her arm taking in her weight on the table minutes after the whole story “ What does the agent even look like? Is he taller? I mean do you have an upper hand or something.”
“It was….Bucky.” you hid your face, waiting for the explosion. Not hearing anything pulled your eyes to her wide ones, mouth hanging almost to the table. With a light motion you closed it back up for her.
“The….the…WINTER SOLDIER!?”
“SHHHHH!” your body flung up, pressing both your hands to her mouth, almost stopping her air. Nea pushed you off, oxygen meeting her lungs before silence again. “Don’t yell!”
“Well I mean WHO WOULDN’T .” She noticed how uncomfortable you were about explaining “At least he smells really good. Is he as beefy as they say? Who is thicker him or Steve? What about Thor, heard he had a nice body too!”
“Calm down. I don’t wanna talk about other people like that.”
“Fine! Keep it to yourself then….” She eyed you, her posture sideways “How is the tower treating you? ” The topic changed to your daily lives and some tea about mutual friends. Breakfast was nice, quite refreshing to meet the city bustle compared to the Zen state of the compound. Nea knew exactly how to calm you down and get you back into your natural rhythm. After paying, you two made your way out the restaurant and back into the ensemble of random sounds.
“Any plan?”
“Hm?” Nea was throwing you a worried stare “About?”
“The situation with the sergeant. You will meet him at some point in there. Gym, hall, common room. You can’t evade him forever. What if you end up being paired up on a mission? Y/N, you are not the type to let stuff like these effect your job.” She was right. There was no way to hide forever. Being bold was what got you in this situation and it could be the answer to it again.
“You are right. If we end up being in a place alone, I will talk it out with him. Probs apologies for making him uncomfortable.” Rubbing the back of your neck you paired the motion with an uneasy, maybe slightly painful laugh.
“ There you go again!” Nea crossed her arms in front of her chest scoffing, letting them fall forcefully. “Going in your head. To me it sounded like he liked it AND teased you back. Don’t force people away like you usually do just because you THINK they don’t like you.” Her smile was soft, sweet like that of a mother giving advice to her hurt child.
“OK!” balling your fingers in a fist you rose them to the level of your chin – aura filled with enthusiasm “I got this!”
“You do!” this girl could hype a crocodile to fly and actually do it.
“What is wrong?” you waved your hand in front of her concentrated face behind you, seeing as how your words weren’t registering anymore
“Better do what you promised me ok?” her hand pushed you back slightly, before you felt an arm as strong as a bolder grab onto you, lifting you off in one swift move.
“TAKE GOOD CARE OF HER!” your best friend’s voice being left further and further away. The disruptive winds were pulling your hair back with the speed the car was drifting with, drying out even the smallest water droplet left. In a moment’s notice you got smuggled in through the big window, finding yourself sitting in someone’s lap.
“Congratulations on your first mission kid.” Steve was holding onto the car’s wheel like there was no tomorrow, driving with speed close to seeing God.
“What is going on!?”you began moving around, confused, catching the city and your freetime in the distance. Bucky’s hands pushed you down onto his lap, trying to stop you from falling out the window
“Tony called. Something out of nowhere popped up and he needs us.”
“Us?” you gasped at the blonde man, trying to calm your heart from the contact with Bucky
“Yup.” His thumb pointed at the back seat “Bruce made sure to pack the stuff we need so just sit down and enjoy the ride. Bucky is pretty comfy.” He threw you a wink.
“Can I go to the back at least?”
“No can do doll. We can’t stop the car.” Your now seat explained
Rage, confusion and who knows what else was stirring up in you, wanting to jab a punch in both the faces of the super soldiers. Tony too, he has been messing around a bit too much lately. Your back hit Bucky’s muscles when you leaned aggressively, pushing your arms to your chest as you blew a strand of hair out of your face. The whole situation pulled a light groan out of him, that didn’t go unnoticed to your shivering thighs.
“We will be there in a bit.” Steve grabbed the gearstick with the same aggression projected on the wheel, his knuckle turning white under the drip. There was no running away from this, first mission or not you at least wanted to know before hand, get briefed maybe. Your knee began jumping nervously. How bad could this actually be - sending 2 super soldiers and a bag of who knows what. If your metal dust was in there, shit was going to go down. Could you do it? Could you trust yourself enough to finish the job, not get yelled at….or die?
Bucky’s vibranium arm ran over your uneasy leg and gently rubbed circles into the fabric of the pants. Head leaning down to your ear, fingers moving the hair to expose the shell.
“It’s ok, just relax. Nothing will happen promise baby girl.” Warm air over your skin, yet calming in a weird way “I have been told that my lap is pretty comfortable by ladies. Just enjoy it.”
“James! Buchanan! Barnes! How! Can! You! Be! Pervery! Right! NOW!!!” a hit to his chest between each word, send a vibration through his body, the laugh coming out distorted. Steve threw a look your way, but didn’t say anything, keeping his thoughts behind those serious eyes of his. As he let his best friend get beat up. Whatever it was, this mission was not just a field trip and Cap knew.

why don't you like endgame or civil war
((hoo buddy, idk what brought this up but salt under the cut!! Like... a lot of salt - specifically regarding Endgame lmao
I’m gonna start off with CACW because it’s a short response lol
I don’t like it simply because I was done with the infighting between the Avengers. The found family crumbs we were given in Endgame was something I really wanted to see, and them just... ripping them apart frustrated me lol
honestly, the movie was... fine? Idk, I found it to be a lil slow for my taste (it felt like it just dragged on when I watched it in theaters), and I just don’t care for it in general  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Also, ngl, I’m really bummed that Captain America: Serpent Society was a joke announcement because that sounds dope as hell and I really wanted to see that before I realized it’d been a joke dfgjhdsfhj
but, yeah, literally just because CACW is specifically an infighting movie annoys me to no end so I just won’t watch it again dgsfjhsfdhj
now, Endgame?
fuck Endgame
I. have a lot of issues with it, all of which are major grievances throughout the fandom. I’m pissed they killed Natasha and didn’t even bother giving her a fucking funeral because, I quote from Joe Russo, “Well, Tony does not have another movie. Tony is done. And Natasha has another film. And Marvel Universe obviously does not have to move forward linearly anymore. But that character still has more screen time coming.” (see here) and that annoys the hell out of me. She’s getting another movie - great! So you killed one of the few characters doing her fucking best to keep everything together at the compound, the one who was taking charge, give her a big role, and then murk her and... give her nothing but a brief mention at the end. Like... what the fuck? Natasha deserved so much better than what she was given. Tony’s funeral could’ve (and, frankly, should’ve) been a funeral for him, Natasha, and Vision because god forbid we see anyone mourn Vision other than Wanda
(actually this post covers how Endgame fucked over the MCU women perfectly, though Wanda’s not mentioned :c )
plus... Tony’s not done lol - he’s still a massive figure in the films/shows despite RDJ not acting in them, so his character has left shockwaves that aren’t dying any time soon. Natasha... basically disappeared, and I believe she would’ve been dropped completely if it wasn’t for the fact she does have a film coming out soon. Which, frankly, seems awesome and all, but it’s a film that goes back to post-CACW pre-IW and... frankly doesn’t give me any reason to understand why that means she didn’t get a funeral. She’s not coming back in future movies/shows that are in present MCU timeline - her movie is set in the past. She could’ve gotten a decent sendoff
now, Clint’s arc as Ronin rubs me the wrong way. I know it’s a huge thing in the comics, and it’s not him taking a different mantle that I have an issue with. It’s the fact he, a white man, went around murdering people and got off scot-free. Yes, he was targeting genuinely bad people, but... to show that, they specifically singled out Mexican cartels and the yakuza (Japanese mafia, essentially) - so, in other words, the bad guys were people of color! I feel like I don’t need to explain how fucked up that is. And, to clarify, I love Clint! Clint is honestly one of my favorite characters, and the whole thing was just handled... poorly in the film
Tony’s arc genuinely hurts. This is a man who has suffered for years and has tried to make things right, and finally got a chance to settle down. He finally retired from the Avengers, finally settled down, and had a fucking life he could enjoy despite his ghosts, and yet... His arc ends with a message of “tortured soul finally gets rest by dying”. Because, y’know, it’s great seeing yet another long-suffering character only reaching peace through death, because god forbid they let characters heal! He could’ve still caused the second Snap, and he could’ve survived. He could’ve finally been able to step away for good and focus on his family, focus on recovering, and be truly happy. What’s so wrong with letting him stay alive so he can rest and be with his family? What’s so wrong with letting a long-suffering character finally find peace after one last bang?
plus it pisses me off that they’re now using him as a reasoning as to why bad things are still happening. Why is this person the bad guy? Because Tony Stark somehow may or may not have done something that hurt them! Even though most of that really stems from Howard or Obadiah. Tony just ends up getting the blame in their place. He’s just an easy target to use, much like the tesseract seems to be the go-to answer for why things go wrong. But this is a different train of thought
Steve’s ending pisses me off just as much as the next person lmao. You take a character who has acknowledged he no longer belongs in the past (which, funnily enough, was written by the Russos), aaaaaaand have him go back to the past while ignoring two important people in his life that were still right there. He got Bucky and Sam back, and he leaves them. His arc is ruined within a matter of minutes, and it paints a hella bad picture of him in the process. He goes back in time to stay with Peggy (which ultimately destroys her own arc, and the fact she’s a person outside of her relationship (or lack thereof) with him because, y’know, why have her be able to move on and be her own person?), and we’re supposed to believe he’s fine with everything he knows from the future? Fine with knowing Bucky’s trapped with HYDRA and is suffering as the Winter Soldier? Fine with knowing HYDRA has infested SHIELD from day one? Fine with knowing Howard and Maria are going to die? Fine with royally fucking up the timelines? We’re supposed to believe he sat back and did nothing with all of that? They could’ve had him still hand the shield over to Sam - they could’ve let Steve stay an Avenger without the mantle
also the fact the Russos said he didn’t recognize Red Skull when he returned to Vormir to return the soul stone? Like... what the fuck?? Not to mention he literally returns the stone to Vormir, which “soul for a soul”, and they didn’t bring Nat back that way??
and now onto Thor. Thor... holy fuck is this hitting something personal for me. Thor was ridden with guilt - he was furious with himself, hated himself, and blamed himself for failing to stop the Snap. He fell into a massive depression, and... was promptly danced around as laughing stock. Like, “oh! look at Thor! he’s fat and drunk because he’s depressed haha!” - like fuck off. It’s not funny in any form. His suffering was made into a joke and it pisses me off because I suffer from depression. A lot of people suffer from depression. It’s not funny. It’s fucking terrifying at times. I wasted a shit ton of money on a stupid online sim game because it was a distraction - it gave me... god, I wouldn’t even say temporary happiness, but it gave me something to temporarily help, and I still hate myself for doing it. It was a poor decision on my part, and I wish I could change it. And, during that time, I was scared because I couldn’t see myself pulling out of it. I thought I was gonna feel that way forever. I called out of work multiple times because there were days I couldn’t stop crying (something I still feel horrible for doing), I couldn’t get myself to contact any of my friends for months, and it was all because the medication I was on at the time... stopped working. Thankfully, my depression doesn’t work in a way that makes me a danger to myself, so that wasn’t an issue, but it still fucking sucked. And to see a character that I could relate to on such a personal level treated as laughing stock fucking hurt. I’m not sharing this for sympathy - I’m sharing this because it Thor’s arc hit home and it’s literally the main reason why I will not watch Endgame again
this is more of a nitpick than anything else, but... I didn’t really care for Carol in it tbh? Which is unfortunately because Captain Marvel is one of my absolute favorite movies! And I’m well aware she was introduced in Endgame while CM was being drafted, but that in itself is annoying?? Because Carol was originally going to be introduced in AoU, but was cut because it wasn’t going to introduce her character properly. And yet they decide to introduce her character in a clusterfuck of a movie before her movie is in the final stages, and proceed to release her movie first and then give a complete different characterization in her following appearance
honestly I just wanna cover this now to clarify some things regarding Carter and her backstory: the only reason I keep Endgame as is is because it felt easier for me to do so for the purpose of bending canon for specific threads. I wanted to stay as true to the given plots as possible to help with fudging of both the movies and her background, and also because I didn’t want anyone to feel like I was trying to force my own headcanons onto them, y’know?
I’m just gonna plug this here because fuck it lol, but I did start a fix-it fic regarding Endgame that you can read here! I... probably won’t finish it tbh, and I haven’t gone over it in a hot minute so it might be riddled with errors ahah - plus I’m not sure about how I wrote the characters! I get nervous when writing canon characters because I feel like I’ll miss their characterization completely, which is actually why I,,, rarely rp canon characters dgfjhgsfdhj

10 Favourite Female Characters From 10 Different Fandoms
(List your 10 favorite female characters from 10 fandoms, then tag 10 people)
Thank you so much for the tag @a-lil-bi-furious !! ❤️
1. Malia Tate from Teen Wolf
Starting off strong — literally, she has the strength of, like, a bear and the temper of one! My angry girl!! I just loved her from the very first second we were introduced to her after turning back. She went through so much, and it clearly had a big impact on her, and we got to see her grow through most of it (but not all of it because the writers suck a bit) and work to become a pack member instead of the lone coyote she had gotten used to being. Also, she insanely pretty and cute so she’s allowed to growl at people every so often!
Tumblr media
2. Liv Parker from The Vampire Diaries
My angry and extra sassy girl — witch edition! There’s just something about her that I love. I really understand Tyler; she could insult me and blast me across a room with magic and I would fall in love with her. But we know that a lot of her mean-girl attitude comes from her family issues, and it’s more of a defense mechanism than anything. So, it was nice to see a softer side of her around both Luke and Tyler — and Jo, on occasion. She knew she was the “weaker” twin and as much as the thought of dying scared her, she still stood strong and tried to find a way to save Luke from having to live with that guilt by finding another way — just as she saved Tyler from triggering his curse by killing someone (who was already dying because of him) for him. And then in the end, knowing she was going to die anyway, she saved him again. She deserved a way better ending and more of a chance to grow since we definitely were not done with her story, so I will be forever bitter but I love and appreciate the time we had her for!
Tumblr media
3. Hope Mikaelson from Legacies
Is it cheating if they’re from the same universe but not the same show? I just love this little Tribrid so much. She’s gone through a lot her entire life — literally, she had people trying to kill her before she was even born. She lost her mum, and then her dad, and her uncle. Not to mention the, uh, killing a bunch of people in between and also finding out your first boyfriend helped kidnapped your mum in a plot to kill her and you (that he didn’t know about, given, but still). And having virtually no friends at school. But she still tried to be so strong all the time, to a point where she really should let more people in it and see that soft, vulnerable part that’s still in there. Her anger is justified, and sometimes out of her control due to her family, and I wish they’d let her get real help for it. She shouldn’t have to be the “hero” or the “saviour” all the time and I wish they would just cut her a break, let her rest, and have a moment of happiness that doesn’t end with her feeling like she didn’t deserve it.
Tumblr media
4. Wanda Maximoff from MCU
(First of all, you don’t know how painful it was having to wade through a bunch of Pietro gifs in the process of finding this one.) The version of Wanda in the MCU is very... complex. Obviously there’s a lot of issues With the character, but if I’m focusing solely on who she is in the MCU, then I love her so much. And she definitely has some issues in her life. She starts off as the bad guy, angry and seeking “justice” (and revenge) for what happened to her parents, and in the same movie, we see her realize that the side she was working for wasn’t any better. We see her character develop quite a bit in just her first movie, and then over the course of the next ones, we see more sides to her; her guilt over hurting innocent people through a quickly-made decision, her compassion for Vision and for those other people, her grief over losing Pietro and Vision. And she herself is so powerful! She tries to live with the pain she’s endured but it takes over without her control, because both her grief and her magic are all-consuming. And I add this because I still refuse WandaVision’s change to the timeline: she went through all of this before she was eighteen. She’s so young, and in pain, but she still tries so hard to push through because other people need her, and she doesn’t want them to suffer like she has. Also, I just think it’s pretty when she does those little hand movements to possess people and her eyes turn red.
Tumblr media
5. Nymphadora Tonks from Harry Potter
She deserved the absolute world. Her death was unnecessary, and I hate it, because she should have gotten to live the rest of her life raising her son, happy with her husband, and just generally being alive. She was so full of life and joy, and she tried to be the source of those things in the middle of a literal war when everyone was at their lowest and felt hopeless or angry. Also would’ve loved more scenes of her and her favourite cousin, Sirius, because they would be chaotic and they both deserved that. ALSO also, she’s very pretty, can change her appearance and chose to have pink/purple hair and dresses like how tiny me wanted to dress, so I immediately fell in love, of course.
Tumblr media
6. Kara Danvers from Supergirl
She’s just so kind and compassionate despite everything the world has put her through — but she’s also angry deep down, and she’s hurt and in pain, and some of my favourite moments of hers are when she’s allowed to express that. When she’s allowed to really just lose it and lash out at the people who hurt her because she pushes it down for so long so that she can help everyone else that it finally just explodes.
Tumblr media
7. Jody Jackson from The Dumping Ground
TW: mentions of different forms of child abuse. This girl deserves the whole world but I promise you that the world does not deserve her. The same can be said for pretty much all of the characters in The Dumping Ground, to be honest, but god she has just been through so much. Neglected by her mum from a very young age, abused physically and verbally by her and (presumably) both of her brothers, and it’s implied she’s abused sexually by one of her brothers as well. Of course when we first meet her she is angry and terrified. She still is because the trauma developed and was never fully dealt with, so she still carries it all around in her mouth and fists, until one little thing happens to make her lash out. And she knows she has a problem — she is terrified of becoming her brother, and sometimes her mum, and all she wants is to not hurt the people she loves. Because she loves so much, it’s just hard for her to know how to show it sometimes because sometimes all she can remember is how her family “loved” her. But she’s grown so much since she went into care and she’s getting help at last, and I just have so much hope for her happiness in the next series to come.
Tumblr media
8. Annie Marks from Good Girls
She’s short, fiesty, will make jokes at the worst possible time, won’t stop calling a literal gang leader who has threatened her life on more than one occasion “gang friend”, was incredibly supportive and accepting of her son when he came out as trans, will punch someone when necessary (probably also when not), has a semi-friendly co-parenting thing going on with her ex, and is just all around adorably ridiculous.
Tumblr media
9. Casey McDonald from Life With Derek
Ignoring Derek in the gif — Casey usually does, too. Casey is a perfectionist, and frankly, sometimes quite annoying about it and some other things, and yes, she definitey initiates a lot of the arguments between her and Derek. And that is why I love her. She is in no way perfect, and her striving to be comes from anxiety and insecurities that are partially the result of the instability in her life. I love how, no matter how much she may despise Derek, when there’s a real problem, she tries to help. She cares about the people in her life, and I can’t wait for her to return to as a mum of four!
Tumblr media
10. Ashley Garcia from The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia
Someone give the world TO her, please?? It’s a shame this fandom is so small because she deserves so much love and appreciation. She’s a literal genius but lacks... a lot of social skills at the start of the show. But she learns from her friends, and gets to experience new things, including having a crush for the time (and the second!) and she’s just generally living life as a fairly normal teenager. While still being an absolute genius. I just love this smiley little dork so much!
Tumblr media
Tagging: @pad-foots @donnas-troia @childofsquidward @multifandomlover121 @superarrowverse @dance-is-life27 to participate if you want to, but as always, no pressure! And anyone who wants to do this but wasn’t tagged — you have been now! Go do it!

Wherever You Will Go (post AoS Dousy Fic)
Fandom: Agents of Shield Pairing: Daisy x Daniel Rating: Teen and up Word Count: 1,717
Summary:
What kind of present time is the team returning to after their hard fought battle against the Chronicoms? Will Daisy get her happy ending? If Daniel has anything to say about it, he'll always find his way back to her. Is there someone out there who can bring him back to her?
(entirely inspired by the song "Wherever You Will Go," by The Calling.
A/N:
Whooo boy yall. I heard this song the other day and was just struck with inspiration for Dousy.
It's also my attempt at an endgame fix-it fic of sorts regarding plotholes and the lack of Phil Coulson and Daisy Johnson in the MCU, and aos/endgame fusion if you will.
This is a multi-chap with it all plotted out, and several chapters drafted. Non-beta-ed, we die as men.
I hope you'll join me for the ride!
Ao3 Link
Chapter 1:
For a moment, silence rings throughout the Zephyr.
Daisy slumps against the wall, exhausted. The adrenaline from the final fight against Malick and the Chronicoms is starting to dissipate.
“The Zephyr is stable. Anyone still standing, make your way to the bridge for a headcount,” Mack’s voice booms through the stillness.
Somehow she finds the strength to make it through the corridors, the desire to see her team and make sure Daniel is safe, the only thing keeping her going. Finally, she turns the last corner and sees Coulson first.
He turns in time to see her as she half hugs, half collapses in his arms.
“Whoa, whoa, I got you.”
“Did we win?”
“Yea, we won. You can rest now,” he says leading her to one of the bench seats.
Then she’s pushing against him, fighting against his hold.
“No, where’s Sousa? Did he make it?”
“I’m right here,” he affirms from behind her.
Daisy feels a wave of relief at hearing his voice. She turns and finds him looking at her with a similar look of relief.
Without thinking about the consequences or who is watching, they step toward each other, and Daisy immediately pulls him down for a kiss. He wraps his arms around her without thinking, supporting as much of her weight as he can. The kiss is life affirming and celebratory, but there’s a desperation underneath, both of them scared that the fight’s not really over, that any minute now one of them will disappear.
“Ay Dios Mio,” Yo-yo grumbles as she passes them.
They pull apart, faint blushes covering their cheeks. It only lasts a minute before Daisy’s putting nearly all of her weight on Daniel. In an instant, he lifts her into his arms and carries her over to the seats. He carefully sits down with her, and her head immediately finds his chest.
“I told you so,” Mack rubs in Yo-yo’s face.
One by one, the rest of the team filters in. Injuries are assessed and hugs are shared.
Coulson and Mack quietly discuss their next steps.
“Everyone needs a break, and a really good night of sleep,” Mack suggests.
“Agreed. Fortunately for us, we have all the time we need here in the temporal zone. Let them rest, eat. We can regroup in 12 hours,” Coulson tells him.
Mack gives the order to everyone, and the team scatters.
***
Daniel carefully settles Daisy onto the bed of her bunk. Methodically, he takes off her boots, and then her gauntlets. He gently sits next to her on the bed, and softly moves hair out of her bruised face. Even with the dark purple spots and cuts, she’s the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen.
“Heyya, Danny-boy,” she says sleepily with a half smile.
He laughs out loud and brings her hand to his lips, kissing it softly.
“Back atcha, Quake.”
She turns her head into her pillow and groans in embarrassment. She’s never going to forgive Mack.
“You need to get some rest,” he prods.
“You know, I’d normally fight you on that, but I kind of feel like I was hit by a truck.”
“You never have to pretend you’re okay with me,” he tells her earnestly, rubbing his hands up and down her arm soothingly.
“Then can I ask you to stay? I don’t want to be alone.”
“Thank God. I don’t want to leave your side,” he answers, already sliding his shoes off and propping himself up against the headboard beside her.
“You should lay down and get some sleep too,” she insists.
“I will. I just want to watch over you for a little while.”
Daisy blushes, but curls herself around him and lays her head on his lap. He automatically starts running his fingers through her hair.
“I thought you would have had enough of that by now,” she mumbles.
“Never enough,” he says softly. “Now get some sleep.”
His gentle touch and comforting embrace lulls her to sleep within minutes.
***
Daisy wakes to the smell of eggs and bacon wafting through the Zephyr. She also can’t help but notice a warm body wrapped around her. Her suspicions are confirmed when she opens her eyes and all she can see is the blue of Daniel’s shirt. That damn shirt.
Her head is tucked under his chin, and her arms are curled up between them. She’s using one of his arms as a pillow, while his other one is holding her close. She recognizes the intimacy of the moment, how they somehow jumped a million steps, but it feels right.
“Good morning,” she hears his deep voice mumble against her hair.
“Possibly the best one since 1931.”
She nuzzles further into him, and wraps an arm around his waist, pulling him closer.
“Definitely the best,” he confirms.
“As much as I would like to stay here and fall right back to sleep, I’m starving, and I can smell Coulson cooking breakfast.”
“Oh no, I better get out of your way before you quake me,” he mocks.
“The square has jokes, huh?”
“A few.”
He’s blushing when he leans over to kiss her softly. Her hand finds a home in his hair, and she kisses him back. His hand starts gliding up and down her spine, and without thinking, she gives more over to the kiss. She nibbles his lip, and he moans, causing her to stop, but he follows her quickly with his tongue, surprising her. From there, it’s a blur, both of them becoming heated. His fingertips are just grazing her stomach under her tank top when a loud knocking interrupts them.
“Daisy...Coulson has food ready. C’mon before it gets cold,” Jemma informs her from behind the door. She’s quiet for a moment before continuing. “And bring Sousa with you.”
Both of them are catching their breaths as they stare at each other, not flushed with embarrassment, but longing.
“That wasn’t funny,” Daisy says staring up at him with emotion.
“No. It wasn’t funny at all,” he replies, voice thick with the same emotion. He caresses her cheek softly. “Let’s get you some food.”
Daisy agrees and lets him pull her out of bed. They decide to part ways to freshen up and change clothes before facing the new day.
***
Everyone is gathered around the common area near the small kitchen galley. Daisy can hear the laughter as she comes down the hall from her bunk. It looks like she’s the last to arrive as she spots Daniel sitting at the table. On the opposite side, she catches the tail end of Mack’s story that has them all giggling.
“And then she did a full on superhero landing, right in front of hundreds of people, live on t.v.”
“She totally outed herself as Quake,” Jemma says, leaning over to show Daniel a picture on her phone.
He’s laughing along with everyone else when she clears her throat and makes her presence known.
“I see how it’s gonna be. Should I bring up the Jasper Sitwell incident?” she threatens while leaning against the cabinets.
Jemma jerks her phone away. “Oh, don’t be a spoil sport.”
“If it makes you feel any better, Tremors, we started off by telling him about how you saved our lives that day.”
Daisy grumbles as she starts to pour some coffee. “So what other dirty laundry have you aired, Mack Hammer?”
“Well, I have seen the,” Daniel pauses and looks to Jemma, “what did you call it? The goth phase?”
“Jemma!” Daisy shrieks.
“I’m sorry! We got carried away telling stories.”
“I think my favorite hair is the purple streak,” Daniel adds.
Daisy just face-palms.
“Okay, okay. Sousa, I’ve been dying to ask you for some SSR stories,” Coulson intervenes.
Daniel dives into a hilarious anecdote about Howard Stark and one of his inventions. As Daisy prepares her plate and sits down next to Daniel, she soaks in the peacefulness. From there, the conversation flows from one war story to another, some hilarious, some sad.
Long after their plates are emptied, they’re still going at it.
“Wait a minute, wait a minute...Thor’s real?” Daniel asks, shocked.
All of the girls nod and sigh, and Jemma pipes up, “I think I’ve got a picture!”
Jemma immediately pulls up a photo to show Daniel.
“You sure did find that awfully fast,” Fitz grumbles.
Daniel looks and his eyebrows raise. “That's...impressive.”
Daisy nearly chokes on her cold coffee, Daniel’s word choice reminding her of their conversation in the time loop. Yo-yo and May try to lean over and catch a glimpse too.
“Oh, jeez. C’mon guys. He’s not that dreamy,” Coulson whines.
“As much as I would love this particular conversation to continue, we do have some difficult things to talk about, like when we’re going home?” Jemma suggests as she puts her phone away. Everyone chimes in as they all start discussing problems back home.
“Hold on, hold on,” Coulson butts in. “Maybe we shouldn’t rush. You all deserve to have a break, and we have plenty of food. We all need to heal. We don’t know what we’ll be going home to.”
“I suppose it wouldn’t hurt. We really have all the time in the world here,” Fitz responds.
The conversation drifts from there, everyone sharing the various things they’re looking forward to doing when they get home. Discreetly, Daniel takes Daisy's hand under the table.
Not discreetly enough that May and Coulson both don’t notice. Coulson leans into May as they continue to watch their friends, family really, talk about happier things.
“He’s good for her,” he says with a hint of remorse.
“He is. I can feel his affection for her. It’s genuine,” May observes.
Coulson goes silent as he watches on.
“It’s more than you just wanting the team to have a break, isn’t it, Phil. What aren’t you saying?” May asks looking at him stoically.
Coulson sighs and rubs his hand down his face.
“You know how I had to go into the time stream to destroy it...well I saw a lot of future timelines. They all had one thing in common,” he says before pausing and looking at Sousa grinning from ear to ear at Daisy.
“Daniel Sousa has to go back to 1955, or else he’ll cease to exist.”

About Me~
I just wanted to say thank you guys so much for 1k!
Seriously, it’s such a blessing to be able to wake up and interact with you guys—seeing people’s reaction to my work has been so enriching and therapeutic for me, I can’t even put it into words.
So for us hitting 1k, I’m doing two things—one is letting my husband actually read my work (something that I never ever do) and the other is giving you guys a proper face reveal (which I know I teased a few days ago) and an “about the author” section.
I love sharing my life experiences, which I do through writing, and different hobbies that I do. So I guess, without further ado, it’s nice to officially meet you all!
Tumblr media
Thanks to the mobile bio, many of you know that my name is Sam and that I’m twenty six. Also, through not so subtle hints, I’m in a domestic partnership (see: my husband) with some dude named Rob. Rob’s an angel and he puts up with my chaotic energy somehow.
Chaotic in the sense that I never stop doing things. 76 percent of my time is dedicated to starbucks, whether I’m on the clock or not, while the rest of my energy is divvied up between writing, reading, and playing pool.
As I’m sure many of you have figured out, I have a love for writing. It’s been a solid hobby of mine for over ten years. However, thanks to le hubbs, I’ve also spent the last four years playing competitive 8-ball. It’s actually a very large portion of my life outside of here—Rob and I have competed in a worldwide competition held in Vegas for the last three years. Each qualifying tournament is such an emotional event in which I am heavily invested in and, oddly enough, the love and passion we have for pool is what sparked our interest in Haikyuu. I suppose that our sport is part of the reason I decided to revive this blog. I was actually in Las Vegas last year when I decided to go on hiatus to focus on my schooling. I’m currently an organizational leadership student with Arizona State University after a six year hiatus (are you starting to recognize a pattern yet?).
I tend to take breaks quite often because, as I mentioned, I never stop doing things. Sure, eventually old hobbies take the back burner; drawing, painting, gaming, tattooing, make up, hair, cooking, baking, a myriad of musical instruments, and singing are some prime examples. Once in a blue moon, I’ll sit down and pound out a new look if I’m lacking creativity or go for a drive and sing old songs that I used to listen to in high school if I need a break from whatever’s on my current roster of hobbies. Though, when it comes to my big three, hiatus isn’t as common as, you know, college.
Despite my chaotic, to-and-fro movements between my hobbies, I do actually have a few consistencies in my life as well. For one, I’m the “mom” friend. I’m the one everyone comes to for life advice whether it be that stupid s/o that’s been ghosting you or how to properly budget to make sure you can eat dinner for a week. And if you can’t, well it looks like I’m taking you grocery shopping or out to eat.
Speaking of mom—I’m a fur mom as well. I got a chinchilla who’s well past his life expectancy and loves playing dead to scare dad and I, a cat, and a really really annoying pup that I love dearly. My little family is probably the most consistent part of my life besides my nicotine dependency.
What else, what else.....

Unforeseen Chasm (Part 31)
Prompt: Two sisters fall for men that are absolute enemies. The love they have could tear all of them apart, or it could bring them together.
Word Count: 2516
Warnings: angst
Note: This is by far the longest thing I’ve ever written (including my novels). It’s a collaboration with the amazing @mrs-dragneel-stark-solo. It started as a funny “What if…?” and it evolved and got huge. This took two years to write. We are both proud and happy and we hope you enjoy it. It follows from Thor 1 to Endgame in the MCU. Some of the timelines may be off in order to fit certain people, and some characters may show up earlier or in different ways than they have in the movie. But for the most part, it follows the MCU. It also has a bit of crossover with some other Marvel characters throughout the story.

As soon as Tony parked in the garage, the two of you sat there a moment. You were waiting on him to get out, so you didn’t startle him and make him think you were running off.
“Tell me what’s going on with Shannon,” he quietly ordered as he stared down at his lap.
At first, you wanted to tell him to go talk to her himself, simply because you felt they needed to communicate more. But you thought best to not fuck up this chance.
“During our fight, she absorbed some of my dark energy. I don’t know how much you know about me, or what she told you from my letters of my time on Asgard, but I didn’t have this dark energy when I was on Asgard. Being on Asgard makes me strong, and it also rejuvenates a power I was born with. I was born with the ability to charge objects or absorb energy.”
He remained quiet, listening.
“That’s the natural, good power I have. Like Thor can control thunder and lightning, Loki can conjure, conceal, cast illusions. That’s my power… But when I was held captive, a man named Thanos possessed a mind stone. It’s what was in Loki’s scepter. That’s how we got Barton, and Selvig and all the others to do our bidding. Thanos used it on us. He mainly used it on Loki… But when he did use it on me… I started to develop these dark powers… at the time I had no idea how parasitic they were until I was locked up in the cell. I could tell something felt off in me. Like I had a virus.”
A moment of quiet fell over the car.
“But, anyway… Shannon. She absorbed some of that power and now… well now negative or highly intense emotional strain drains on her. She’s got too many mutations and powers and they’re feeding off her. I think my dark energy and the power she got from that empath kid at the X-Men’s place combined to make a tricky combo.”
“So… she can’t handle stress or it wears her down?” he summed up.
You bobbed your head side to side. “Pretty much. I have certain triggers for my dark powers… her triggers are emotional strain, that’s all we really know.”
After a long time, Tony finally said an emphatic, “Thank you.” Then he got out of the car, came over to your door, and opened it.
You got out and walked by his side to the elevator. You didn’t want to worry him by standing behind him. The two of you got in the elevator and neither of you said a word more to each other. The doors opened, he grabbed your upper arm again, and hauled you out into a wide, concrete hallway. It was short. You two approached giant doors and they slid open.
Behind the doors lied your glass cell, sitting up a few feet from the floor, like a stage… like a circus animal were inside. Still holding onto you, he directed you towards the door on the left side of the cell.
Loki had looked up from his place on the couch and paled. He quickly got to his feet, throwing the book in his hands down. He had no words for the sight in front of him.
The retinal scanner scanned Tony and granted him access. Your cell doors opened with the light “swoosh”, and he escorted you inside.
“Don’t leave the cell,” he said, and it sounded more like a tired plea than anything else. With that, he turned and left. The cell doors slide shut behind him and he walked out of the room.
Loki peered at you, concerned. “Are you alright? Did he find you at the mansion?” he asked as he slowly made his way over to you.
You nodded.
“Did he hurt you?”
You shook your head.
“Love, what’s wrong? You’re scaring me. Why didn’t Shannon bring you back, or the blue teleporter?”
As much as you wanted to answer him, you couldn’t. So instead you began sobbing and immediately he wrapped his arms around you, soothing you. “Darling, what’s the matter?” he asked again.
“Shannon… she’s too sick to bring me back. I asked Tony to do it.”
“He wasn’t… angry?” he wondered, pushing you away slightly to look at you.
“Oh, no he was pissed. Beyond pissed. Livid… But… I thought I could get on his good side if I came quietly,” you informed through tears.
“And? Did it help?”
You shook your head. “Loki… we were up for parole…”
His eyes went wide with astonishment. “We were?”
You nodded. “But… because I left… I fucked it up. Tony isn’t letting us go anymore. It’s all my fault. I’m so sorry…” Another wave of sobs rocked out of you.
“It’s alright, darling,” he assured in a low, hushed voice, pulling you close to him once more. “You had no way of knowing they were even considering us for it.”
------------------------------------
Steve and Shannon had gotten to the tower first. Steve noticed how exhausted she looked on the drive back that when they got into the garage. He got out of the car and picked her up so that she wouldn’t tire herself any more than she already was.
“Steve, I’m fine. You don't have to carry me, I can walk,” she said sounding tired and looking just as much.
“Doll, you can barely keep your eyes open, I'm taking you back to your room so you can sleep,” he said about to press the button for the level for her and Tony’s bedroom.
“No! I don’t want to go there… I’d like to go back to my old floor and spend some time with Lucky only,” she said leaning into his super warmth. “You’re so warm Steve, it feels good,” she said sleepily.
He chuckled. “I’m glad I’m good for more than being a friend.” While he was carrying her with one arm, he texted Bruce with the other, hoping to get him to come check on her by the time he made it to her floor .
>> Bruce, can you bring Lucky down to Shannon’s floor? She wants to spend the rest of her day with him
<< sure thing, why isn’t she in her shared floor?
>> tony found out about Y/N being out of the cell
>> could you bring some things to check on her? she’s still looking rather sick.
<<I’ll get the things ready. see you in a bit.
They got to her floor just as Bruce was getting off the other elevator with some equipment and Lucky was right behind him. Upon seeing her in Steve’s arms though, it seemed Lucky had come to the realization that she wasn’t okay and immediately ran into her old room and got on the bed ready to be her rock and make her feel at ease.
“Thanks for meeting me, Bruce. I’m worried with everything that happened a few moments ago her health is really low,” Steve said as he laid her down and put the covers over her.
“She’s looking pretty pale but let me connect her to a heart monitor and a few other things and we’ll see what's going on. Maybe you should have Nat make her some tea and something to eat?” he suggested to the super soldier. “I’ll let you know if something is wrong. For now we should let her rest,” Bruce said while connecting the last of the equipment to her. “JARVIS, send me any alerts of her vitals drop any lower than they already are, also make sure no one is to bother her,” Bruce had said to the Al hoping that this would help her regain her strength.
She had her eyes closed but could still hear everything. “JARVIS, lock the doors when they leave please. I don’t want anyone to come in besides these two and Nat,” she requested. Her voice was very low but the Al was able to hear it all.
“Of course, Ms. Shannon. Dr. Banner, I’ll be sure to alert you of any sudden changes,” he replied to her request and Banner’s as well.
By the time that Tony and you had made it back to the tower there had been little change in her health. Although there were no more dips in the charts, they also weren’t at their normal point, which had the others worrying.
Tony walked into the common area and Nat was the first to catch a glimpse of him.
“Finally back I see. Took you long enough,” she said with anger laced in her words.
“Not now, Romanoff. Have you seen Shannon?” he asked passing his hands through his hair. “I need to talk to her.”
“Oh now you wanna talk to her? What about when you went to the mansion and wouldn’t hear a thing she said?” she scoffed. “I’m not tell you anything, Stark. For a genius you sure are an idiot.” She shook her head, walking away.
He huffed and headed to their shared room hoping to find her there and talk things through. Lately, it felt like there’d been a lack of communication between the two of them and it started to put a strain in the relationship. He loved her with every part of his soul but he couldn’t believe all of the things that she’d been doing behind his back.
He reached the door hoping to hear her making noise but when he didn’t hear anything at all he assumed she was asleep and entered quietly. Turning around from closing the door he was met by an empty room. “JARVIS, where’s Shannon?” was all he asked the Al.
“She is in her old bedroom with Lucky.”
“Thank you. I’ll be down to see her.” He went to his closet and changed into a pair of sweatpants and a plain black t-shirt.
“Sir, she has requested that only Dr. Banner, Captain Rogers, and Ms. Romanoff be allowed to enter the room.”
“Well I’m still going down there…” sounding a little hurt that she didn’t want him to go in the room
“Dr. Banner has also requested she be left alone to rest. Her vitals seem to be low and have not had any positive changes shown,” the Al responded
“Just open the door for me when I get there… please. I need to talk to her and apologize for not giving her a chance to explain things.”
“Sir, I would suggest against trying to enter. She’s said that if anyone else is allowed in she would personally remove my chip from the system and replace it with FRIDAY.”
“I’ll make sure she doesn’t,” was all he said and made his way to the elevator.
Shannon had fallen asleep after being in her old room for some time and had talked with Lucky, even though he couldn’t reply, she felt a huge relief getting everything off her chest. They were both currently cuddled up watching some of her favorite movies. She was very slowly regaining her energy but her strength still seemed to be weak.
“Ms. Shannon, Mr. Stark is on his way down here to speak with you, I’ve advised him not to but he insists on coming down here. Shall I electrify the doorknob?” Jarvis asked her.
“No, Jarvis, don’t do that. Just don’t let him enter my room through either door,” she replied hoping that Tony would get the hint and leave her alone. As hurt as she made him, she was equally hurt that he wouldn’t even stop to hear the explanation she wanted to give him.
“Alright, Miss.”
“Hey, honey, can I come in so we can talk?”
“Go away, Tony. I don’t want to talk, not after the way you treated my words as if they were a bunch of lies.”
He slumped his shoulders. “I know I messed up. Please open the door so we can talk about this…”
“What’s there to discuss? You didn’t want to hear what I had to say back at the mansion so why should I believe that you wanna hear what I have to say now?”
Leaning his head on the door, Tony replied, “Listen, I know I’m an idiot for not letting you speak and that I let my anger get to me but seeing you in that bed, pale and seeing her right next to you just pissed me off. I thought she had done something to you and I hadn’t been there to stop her again.”
“Oh, Tony you know that she’d never hurt me…”
“That’s the thing! I don’t know if she will or if she won’t. I haven’t seen her in so long that the person I met when she came back was a stranger,” he admitted wishing that your words would stop repeating in his head about him still loving you and missing his old friend. It was true but he’d never admit to it. “Baby, please let me in. I hate that we’re like this. When did things go wrong?” he asked through the door.
“We’ve both been so busy with our own things that we barely got any time to ourselves,” she replied while looking down at her hands. “JARVIS, let him into the room please.”
Tony’s head was leaning against the door and his hand on the doorknob, hoping to be let in, when he heard the faint click of the lock he knew he’d gotten the chance to enter the room. He saw that she still looked tired and was still pale and he felt guilty knowing that his anger had been the cause that triggered her to be like this. He made his way to the bed but Lucky stopped him from going further, baring his teeth as to protect her from him. His heart broke a little more seeing that their dog wouldn’t let him anywhere close to her.
“I’m sorry, Shannon. I never meant to hurt you like I did and I didn’t want you to get worse.” He couldn’t meet her eyes, fearing that he’d see pain or sadness. “I just want what’s best for you and I keep forgetting that you’re a strong woman who can make her own choices.” He looked up with sincerity in his eyes.
“I love that you want to protect me, but I’m not a child anymore. I’m a skilled assassin working with the Avengers.” She looked at him. “Some things will always be out of your reach and this situation is one of them.”
Things had taken a turn for the worse as they had ended up arguing the rest of the time, Bruce had to rush down and stabilize her. Tony was rushed out of the room but once everything was cleared he was allowed back in. Both of them settled to not discuss anything further and had spent the night in each other’s arms and with Lucky sleeping at their feet, that night would be one of the best night’s sleep that either of them have had in a long time.

The MCU Meta no one asked for
Part 1 (yes this is going to be a multi-part meta I am that petty)
So I’m very salty about how the Marvel movies have gone, for a variety of reasons and as they continue to churn out hot shit that I have to see on my dash every fucking day I decided to write a thing on it. Because fuck Disney and fuck Marvel for ruining something that I have loved my whole life. Now I considered several methods of how to approach this, where to even start unsifting the mega ton crap pile that is the MCU (no I will not apologize it is CRAP and I absolutely WILL explain why.) And I’ve decided chronological order is the best way to go. And the most classic, so here we go.
Everything Marvel Got Wrong In Order From The Beginning
So before I get those whiney crybabies who spit at me ‘Everything Exists in Its Own Universe it’s the Multiverse’ blah blah blah, I’m not gonna be talking about differences from the comics too much. Only in the sense of story structure and narrative. Because more than I am a Massive Marvel Comics Nerd I am also a writer and things like plot and story fucking matter okay. So don’t @ me with your bullshit ‘kay.
Narratively Ironman, the first movie, is more or less perfect. There are a few elements that really matter in a superhero movie and Jon Favreau really hit the nail on the head with Tony Stark and this had a lot to do with RDJ’s performance and passion for the role. A Superhero Movie needs, essentially, three things; Theme, Character and Adversary. Pretty basic yeah? Kind of. Superheroes and Superhero comics are about hope and conquering the odds and success against insurmountable failure. Tony Stark’s story is a story of redemption, and the belief that you can change for the better. Favreau really made us feel Tony’s fury at what he and his company had been made into. His righteous desire to be better, to clean up the mess that Obie and his father and his own foolish negligence had created. The theme was righteous redemption and they sold it to us wholesale and it worked very well.
The Character of Tony Stark, I don’t think would have worked as well as it did without the involvement of RDJ. He really knocked that one out of the park. He conveyed perfectly the juxtaposition of Tony’s arrogance and his self loathing. We as the audience understood his front of cocky genius was to cover his loneliness, his scars and his insecurities instilled by Howard. He was broken, yes, but redeemable and hopeful and essentially good which is really what mattered and we loved him for it.
Obadiah Stane, Anton Vanko and Aldrich Killian are probably the weakest parts of the Ironman narrative. And this issue stems from the larger issue with the Ironman movies which is it’s very clear that they didn’t know what they were getting into with this superhero business. They had no idea it was going to blow up as big as it did and a lot of what happened later was improve. Shoddy improve, I might add. Widow’s entrance in the second movie is overhand and poorly executed, Scarlet’s performance leaves absolutely everything to be desired (shut up I’ll get there) but the real issue I find with these films and the Ironman arc is the incongruity in the second and third film with tying in Howard and SHIELD. In both Comic and MCU cannon Howard is a founding member of SHIELD. And in both Comic and MCU cannon Howard is unrepentantly, indisputably abusive towards Tony to an insane degree. So the weird video where we’re meant to believe that Howard was merely a distant but loving father is discordant with the rest of the narrative and doesn’t fit the Tony we know at all. It certainly doesn’t fit with a man who would choose Obadiah Stane as his business partner. There’s also the matter of Peggy and the fact that Tony doesn’t seem to know her which also...doesn’t make a lot of sense. From all we’ve seen Howard and Peggy were friends. She was also very close with Edwin Jarvis who essentially raised Tony. But we’re meant to believe that she never met or had a relationship with Howards son? Why? Did they have a falling out? These questions are never answered to a satisfying degree. But sure we can just sweep these under the rug of a good action storyline.
Looking at the villains themselves, Ironmonger is a good first villain for Ironman to have. Lots of personal ties, good emotional beats, kind of reminds the viewer of a knock off Lex Luthor. It would have been a stronger choice to use Obie’s son Zeke, the actual Ironmonger and who has a sordid personal history with Tony as an abusive ex. But hey, this is Disney and God forbid we even suggest any of our superheroes could possibly be something other than straight. China might not like us then would they. (pretty sure they don’t like us now but it’s the dollars that count right). Whiplash is a fairly generic Ironman bad guy, Russian eccentric genius with a vendetta against the Starks? Yeah sure. They could have peppered in some more about Howard Stark the Abusive Dad just to avoid confusion but hey, whatever. The Mandarin however is a HUGE Ironman villain and I just...I could have done with some foreshadowing. Some tie ins in the earlier movies leading up to the big bad. It would have fit more. But like I said I understand they were making it up as they went along.
Getting into SHIELD and the inclusion of Black Widow, I don’t have a lot of issue with her writing in the second movie. Like sure, her being assigned as Tony’s new PA, makes total sense. Very Natasha move. But Scarlet Johansson is a terrible choice for Natasha Romanoff. For a plethora of reasons. What reasons are those? Oh I’m so glad you asked. First off the introduction of Natasha Romanoff in the comics was fucking brilliant because the reader doesn’t know it’s her until she decides to reveal herself. Before that all we knew of the Black Widow was that she was russian and had red hair. She was very nondescript prior to that. So Tony’s new PA had red hair, so what, so did Pepper he has a type. She was bubbly and fun and used to be a model and her and Tony’s affair fit very well with his history at that point. And then BAM she’s actually a russian killer lady. It was so shocking.
Now that is clearly what Jon Favreau is trying to do there. The way he writes her in, Tony’s interest, Pepper’s exasperation. It should have been perfect except for Scarlet’s performance being so fucking obvious you could see her from space. She’s a terrible spy. Her voice doesn’t change, her face doesn’t change. Her personality remains as blank as before. She’s not subtle. Because Scarlet is not subtle. She’s not a good actress. Just because you can convey emotion does not mean you can portray a character. In every movie she is in she’s just herself in a new outfit and it is very annoying.
Natasha Romanoff is supposed to be a world class spy. Like raised from the womb spy. Given a modified super soldier serum to increase agility and severely slow the aging process (she’s like 80 something fr). She blends in, everywhere. You don’t notice her until her knife is in your back. She should 100% scare the pants off the viewer in every scene she is in because you never know if she’s being genuine or not. There’s a reason her friendship with Clint is so anomalous and it’s not because people know she used to kill people it’s because people functionally can’t trust her. Scarlet only manages to convey that she’s hot and can kick you in the face. Whoopdie do. Her performance in Ironman 2 annoys me so much because it makes Tony look stupid instead of her look scary. Because only an idiot wouldn’t peg her as the spy the moment she flipped Happy onto the mat. Like come on, you can’t introduce a character as a super genius and then allow him to miss something like that, and then act shocked later when she shows up in a leather catsuit, like obvs Tony gd.
I won’t get into the inherit sexism displayed in the lack of effort given to Natasha’s character. Her writing was shallow, her casting was bad and her storyline so inconsistent and slap shod it actually hurts me. I won’t get into the in depth character study of Natasha and all the many ways Scarlet fails at being her here. Maybe one day, but not rn. Simply put her inclusion in the Ironman arc left a lot to be desired.
In part 2 I’ll dive into Thor, Loki and the first avengers movie. I’ll have to leave Cap for part three cause that’s a lot to cut into and it deserves it’s own part.
