#the standards feel completly different

I've read the Jason figurately coded posts and they aren't really any different from other coded discussion. They also usually do talk about actual female characters like Steph. I mean you can like canon black or indian characters and still talk about Raven's literal black/indian coding.
To me - my understanding of coding is when something is intentional. My understanding of Jason having female mentors, or getting killed off for man pain, was that it wasn't intentional commentary. I think those things are coincidences. I think if the writers wanted to make Jason a female character, they would have made him a female character, but these were back in the good old boys club comics days (which exists until now) and I'm kinda sus about any conversation that claims male characters written by men in the comics industry are female coded because. Well. A lot of writers were super sexist/racist/homophobic, and unless there's interviews of the writers explicitly expressing their intent to code a character... it's more just people looking at coincidences or parallels between characters and making assumptions that it was intentional coding. Don't get me wrong, the coincidences/parallels are interesting, but to me they're more indicative of how the male power batman fantasy makes the story lame and annoying not proof of coding taking place
Raven is a completly different situation than Jason, her creative team explicitly based her design off of an Indian women (has been verified in interviews), gave her a bindi, had scenes where she wore traditional Indian dress, and if I'm not completely mistaken or talking out of my ass I believe Marv took inspiration from different Eastern religions while writing her story. Now whether this is coding or cultural appropriation is kind of a fine line. Judging it by standards now - I'd say it leans more towards cultural appropriation, even now Raven still has what looks to be a bindi for aesthetic purposes (depending on the story it's associated with her evil father which is... questionable at best) while still remaining a white character who's both percieved by the audience and by the creative staffs at white. Judging by standards at the time? It's a bit more complicated I guess, I wasn't alive in the 80s. Does this mean i think future iterations of Raven should stay white and stop appropriating Indian culture? Not exactly - i think they should take a restorative justice approach: acknowledge that hey, we fucked up, and then give Raven to an Indian writer/creative team who can showcase a more authentic experience and come up with ways to incorporate her ties to the culture respectfully - say by making Arella Indian, and showcasing parts of Hindi culture on Azarath
I've quite literally never been a part of online fandom before DC so i haven't seen too much coding discourse. Obviously, there is coding in comics. But so many times I've seen people claiming coding exists without looking at the very clear authorial intent behind why the characters say what they do. One example not related to either character: people claiming Chuck Dixon queer coded Tim. I'm sorry. He's literally a raging homophobe, and Tim not wanting to have sex in his run is Chuck using him as a mouthpiece for his abstinence campaign... not queer coding. The context matters, and I'd rather people be honest and just say "hey i thought this was interesting about the character, here's my interpretation of it even though it's not what the real author intended" than lie about the content that's there. Coding in comics does exist, it does happen intentionally by certain authors. But making it up when it doesn't exist doesn't exactly feel productive to me... it just feels misleading and like you're trying to justify why your fave is the best

I have another question, but this time is about the show. I couldn't find the season 1 "uncensored". It’s bother me how shorter are the episodes in hbo because they cut some scenes. I don't know if It’s just me, but It's like they cut a lot of scenes where Anne is more masculine or "odd".
Hi, this is an argument I see quite a lot and I genuanly think it stems from lack of knowledge in how television time slots work – I’m gonna try to explain this so that it’s clear why we happen to have two versions of the same episode for BBC and HBO and why it all comes down to television standards being different around the world and nothing else.
The reason why the HBO episodes are shorter is not because they censor stuff, it's just that the length of dramas produced for hour-long time slots for BBC typically are 57 to 59 minutes vs. other channels that have time slots of under 45 minutes or 45 to 48 minutes (HBO’s case) – literally that's just it. It's all a matter of fitting the episode in the time slot available, and to do that they have to see what they can cut or what can be shortened that won’t completly butcher the episode.
Having watched both the BBC cut and HBO cut of the first season I can say that what they cut were the only things they could have really cut – cutting something else would have not made sense. If you search on youtube I’m sure you can find the scenes that are missing on the HBO version. You can notice how those scenes, if not present, really don’t deminish the story that’s being told in any way – the episode flows perfectly and you don’t end up feeling like you’re missing information.
Different channels around the world have different standards when it comes to hour-long time slots and time schedule – the same show, to be exported, has to have different versions so it can be sold to different channels.
Bottom line is that BBC has longer time slots compared to most channels around the world, everything that gets produced by BBC – when exported – ends up being cut because it simply wouldn’t fit in the time slot available.
There are for sure cases where the reasons behind cutting some scenes are questionable (Call the Midwife i’m looking at you) but it’s not the case of Gentleman Jack.

The idea of the relic in 2077 is kinda cool cuz u got 2 mfs in the same body, and that mf in the relic feels everything u feel physically, but the host itself also feels physical contact started by the mf in the relic. Like, Silverhand basically slaps V in the face and he "doesn't exist physically", but the thing is connected directly in the brain and nervous system so V feels everything to the point 'em body reacts physically (in this case head movements cuz of the slap).
It's fucked up cuz mf literally died so the relic started consuming everything until the new controller is the one in the relic. And the more u start giving up to the one in the relic, more you, yourself, start disappearing until u die, u cease to exist and the body is now from another person in all senses.
Even that behavioral faceplate which u can use to pretend to be someone fucks with your hormonal levels to mimic the hormonal levels of that person you're impersonating. That shit takes "pretend to be someone" in deep and realistic levels. U can even lose yourself completly to a point u don't recognize yourself anymore cuz u became another person.
I think the advantage of "the organic" is the natural defense system. It's different from the digital where everything can become flexible, having a way of editing and molding in the way u want. Things got a much more % of going wrong in the organic part, and it's difficult. It's hard also cuz the randomness % of event is much larger - i see that as a cool defense mechanism. Ain't something anyone can crack or make it work properly like in 100% digital.
Like i always say: it's easier manipulating a digital brain than an organic one. Being digital is a vulnerability. Even if u got a organic body; u edit things in the digital brain and the body gonna respond, from DNA to chemicals. The standard defense mechanism is rejecting the digital construct, but if u get the hold of it...damn.
I guess that's why if i lived in a world like this i wouldn't want any implant. A decent hacker and your heart and lungs stop working, u can get brainwashed, mfs implanting memories that ain't yours, excluding or editing it, having control of your nervous system and limbs etc. And the worst of all: a major electromagnetic event that take all connections and electronics down or fries and explode everything.
When the cyber meets flesh things can get ugly. It already gets ugly in the cyber world already.

Hi. Your new kwamies are cute! I love them designe whise. I have some ideas, but all of them just suggestion, so take it as that😁
First, the eyes. I feel dark, almost pupilles eyes fits more the volture, especially because with a light colour it looks like a skull, which I would say is the most signiture symbol of the end ☠️. And light eyes suggest the person is filled with life, so I would swich that on them. I really like the white-green for Eggo, it's cool when you give non standard, but fitting colour to a kwami, but maybe I would make it just a slightly lighter, because if you don't mention it, I would have thought it's simply black... but maybe you are going to use lighting, or something, than it's not that important, I would say😃
For power, I would have some ideas as well...
For Eggo, maybe the theme around newborn. Maybe the power to reduce something to it's literal parts, like reduce a raft to wood and glue and such, making it like Lego or building bricks, because than you can build a completly new thing of it, or re-build it, even better than before. The other power maybe named "Fasination"; this could either be causing the target to be obsessed with a certain (type) of object, focusing their attention almost exclusivly on it, or make the target temporary absent-minded, so they can forget everything about everything and they can have brand new ideas for it (or use both, if you like😃)
For Niic, I have a power idea named "Deadline"; it simply finishes an object. Like, you need a giant robot, but you only have an arm built? The user touches it, and it's done, it's built (side not, use it, if you like; as a drawback, anything finished like this is well functioning, but very plane and borring. Like, if a sailor ship is built, it works, but has plane white flags, the painting is one, borring colour, there's no figurehead ....etc.) For the other power, maybe "Lethargi" or something. It makes the target aphatic tovard almost everything, like being able to ignore any mood change, like from Psychokomedian, or don't care if their partner got hit, they still going on, doesn't care if they got vounded or ther arm/leg got broken, still go on.... the advantegaa are there, but the backlashes are obvious as well, exspecially after the power fades....
These are my ideas, feel free to use/modifie or do anything you like😃
I like the eyes the way they are. I gave Niic the light eyes because he was overall dark and the eyes are a nice contrast. Same with Eggo, but maybe I should make the colors more different from each other.
That power fits the ladybug+stork unification more since it's the manipulation of objects. I think the other power is already with unification, but I can't remember which.
Again that seems more like a unification with ladybug. The other power seems like another unification, maybe peacock and hellhound..

You guys are giving me way too much power by letting me talk about acting
@minecant you wanted me to rant about Techno and Wilbur's acting? Well, you asked for it
Let's start with Techno bc I realized something this morning and I cannot get it out of my head, let's go.
Techno has a really peculiar way of acting compared to anyone else, his character is a lot more aware of the fourth wall than any other character is, and actually having to keep in check a character that, to certain acting degrees, could be almost considered self-aware is actually harder than you can imagine, and of course everything that's kinda hard in scripted acting goes to a whole new level of difficoult in improv; but on the other hand, his type of acting (more specifically: the voice acting) is on the same page of 3 other characters: Tubbo, Fundy and Niki. Follow me on this, alright? The basically only thing that these 4 characters, that narratively are so different from each other,is the way they are voiced. All four of then have a really specific way of talking and talking pattern, to the point where even if you were to put the voices in a voice-changer you could still know what character is talking just because of the way they talk. Let me elaborate: Fundy usually his voice doesn't let a lot of emotions through and his speech is usually straight to the point, keeping his tone medium and trying to keep his voice relaxed; Niki's usual tone is soft and lighter, is easy to not hear it with her low tone of voice and higher pitch that give her a kinder undertone; Tubbo's tone is also one in a softer scale and lower of volume, but where Niki is easy to miss Tubbo lets a bit more emotion in all phrases to make himself pop out, he doesn't tend to go straight to the point in conversations and his tone is pretty much constant; Techno doesn't let emotions shine through his voice, more like Fundy, but to the extreme, keeping a completly monotone type of speech in basically all the situations and isn't very talkative, a character that talks one when he feels like it's needed and goes straight to the point of the conversation, not caring how that makes him come across to the other characters.
These 4 have incredibly set in stone characters, keeping always to their own set of acting rules for them. It's not easy to set yourself acting rules for your characters in an improv, but if you manage to do it's an in incredible help. Even Wilbur's character was more unhinged under that point of view, his "standard" continuing to change slightly as his mental stage declined.
But you know where does the actual strenght of having these things set in stone for your characters? That the emotions are a lot more powerfull. Let's think about it, why most of the emotive scene shock us? You can usually feel the emotions because the tone of voice lets these emotions through, it hits you because it wasn't there before, it's a switch between the usual voice and the emotive one, it gives you whiplash, but why am I talking about this?
Because these characters are able to express their emotions with a lot more power, because they always talk in a really specific way, you get used ti their tone and speech pattern without noticing it, so you maybe not actually understand it, but your brain notices when the pattern breaks, and since it is a really set in stone one, when it gets broken the whiplash is extreme. Just like when Niki rebelled against Schlatt, the whiplash was her raising her voice and abandoning the soft tone she always used, but kept the classic amount of emotions in her voice, the same thing happens with Techno and his speech: some emotions start to get throught, he doesn't get to the point quickly as always, instead he keeps on talking with extreme confidence in every word, the same confidence he always has. Whiplash guys, whiplash.
I didn't mention Quackity as one of the set-in-stone-speaking characters, because he switches too much to set the rules enough to shock when broken. I'm not saying at all that he isn't a good actor, on the contrary, his acting just works on different bases, example, Try looking at the Quackity vs Schlatt argument compared to the Tubbo vs Tommy: when Quackity got angry it wasn't expected, it was a bit alienating, it didn't feel like the Quackity we know because it was incredibly different than how his character speaks, too different (Which still isn't bad, at all, that scene was phenomenal); when Tubbo got angry it still felt like Tubbo, you could still pinpoint it was Tubbo even without hearing his voice, because even if the voice is raised, the amount of emotions is the same and the speech pattern is the same, just to the next level. So yeah.
I don't even feel like talking about Techno's lines tho, these are amazing under every technical point of view and you guys know that, so let's go to Wilbur.
Wilbur, Wilbur, Wilbur, where can I begin with Wilbur? Not only he had an extraordinary arc for his own character, he also wrote an incredible story- this guy's voice acting is off the charts in every way possible, are you telling me he didn't take acting classes as a kid? i do not believe you. Like, at all. He has a perfect hang on his voice, but this could be because he's also a singer: expressing emotions during songs is harder than you think, because you cannot let emotions ruin your exibition by making your voice crack at the wrong part or making you mess up the timing, but you also need to let them shine through or the voice will seem flat and Wil knows that perfectly, just listen to Your City gave me asthma and you'll understand what I'm going on about here.
Wilbur Soot is a showman. He manovrated the stage to shine a spotlight on himself, making us see what he wants us to see: that's why it took us so much to realize that the character didn't just "go insane" out of nowhere, the seeds were always there, we had all the hints we needed, but he was able to move his character around it, around the arc, in such a way that made us overlook all of those details until they slapped us in the face. He showed us the consequences of his character through other characters, he acted and spoke in a certain way to get a reaction from the others, and the others reacted in the exact way Wilbur planned. And those things aren't scrpited, only major plotpoints are. Wheter this was intentional on his part or it was a coincidence it's not clear, but in either cases it's still pure skill and genius.
Wilbur knew how to act and interact with every character, it's impressive
He even knew how to get Dream on his act on the festival narrative, Dream isn't always top notch at improv and we know that, but if he can get in the loop he is absolutely a distructive force, it's terrifying, and Wilbur knew exactly what to do to get Dream inside the loop of events and it's incredible.
You could guess he knew how to act with Tommy, Tubbo, Ph1lza, Techno and Schlatt, of course he did, he already knew them, but right now he has an incredibly difficoult bit with someone I would have never guessed if I didn't watch the SMP, with Fundy. I have not been in the fandom for a lot of time, but it seems like the two actually met each other on the SMP. They are carrying and incredibly emotional taxing bit with each other, and the SMP lore started just this year- more or less 7/8 months I think? Correct me if I'm wrong. The story bit these two are on is a delicate one, one wrong step and the situation explodes. The fact that they are capable to carrying it even without having known each other for a long time is honestly impressive. Things like this are incredibly hard even when scripted, in improv usually only people who blindly trusted each other for a long time are able to carry it, meanwhile Wilbur and Fundy are flawlessly running with this story arc, the character interactions are perfect, ever act, every word is so incredibly in character for both of them, in scenes like this having to keep perfect track of your character is hard, you have to concentrate on the scene, you cannot stop to think about it, you have only one take and you cannot afford to slow down the act or you risk losing the atmosphere and the momentum of it, and if you do that you'e screwed, you lost an entire scene. In improv you cannot afford slipping up, but if you actually do you have to be incredibly quick to catch yourself, lose two seconds too many and the moment is broken.
Wilbur Soot is incredibly quick to adapt his acting to ever change in his character, having to jump from the power hungry, driven crazy, obsessive, unhinged, paranoid character that is Wilbur to the sad, guilty, scared, repressed, just-wanting-to-be-happy, forgetfull, ignoring character that is Ghostbur is not something easy. Like, at all. It's a cspital switch, and he did it from a day to the other like it's nothing.
Mr Soot please leave some talent to the rest of us come on-

Theory time : Trash of the count’s family
As usual, it’s pretty long.
And I don’t think I ever got a theory right. So if you don’t want to read a lot, skip it. Spoiler until chapter 480 of the light novel and a few things that I was spoiled. (I know, I still have a long way to go with 700+ chapter having been released, but the idea just kept coming back in my head and I was trying to not work on other things. So, I procrastinate to write this and to flee the tiny humans visiting who wanted to keep playing with me until exhaustion.)
Theory: Cale Henituse aka Kim Rok Soo ‘s soul/ heart is someone from the ancient time.
Why? There are a few things that caught my attention while reading the first 480 chapter.
I first thought about it because the ancient powers’ behaviour surprised me a little.
1.      The little hints in the ancient powers
               a.      The way the ancients power saved the “water of judgment”.  They burned a whole area in the North, created an epic mess and saved/ freed someone in the process. When I read about that crazy plan, I thought: that is something Cale would do. And the more I thought about it, the more I am certain Cale would have done something like that had he lived in that time. Create a big mess to save someone.
            b.      The ancient powers personalities. Don’t they seem like crazy people that would gather around Cale had they lived in the present time? Also, Cale kept wondering if the Cobblestone was human since he killed so many monster in the tunnel between the two continent next to his villa. But if the ancient powers were not all human, it would parallel Cale present time where he befriends so many different races that look up to him. And while they worked together to save the water ancient power, they seemed to have split later on since they all died alone and they did not all seem to be friends.
                                          i.     It made me think of another theory, if the one person (Cale original self per example) they gathered around together died or disappeared (Cale is the heart of the group in this present time too), it wouldn’t surprised me that they would split. And that would kinda explain why the fight was so complicated that all evil and all heroes died if the strategist had died beforehand and that the core members had died while branching out.
               c.      The way the scary cobblestone kept asking: do you want to sacrifice yourself. Now we know that he wasn’t doing it to scare him (well maybe a little), but because he was worried and wanted to protect him. But what if he was asking and being worried because he and the other power knew his self-sacrificial tendencies from back in the days (and that they failed to protect him maybe)?
              d.      Cale can hear the ancient power while others who have ancient powers don’t. It was said that it was because the power didn’t fuse with him properly, but it might have been a subconscious choice from him. Cale also chose to not to fuse with them to keep hearing them. The reason could be because while he doesn’t remember them, he subconsciously didn’t want to lose them again.
                e.      The reason Cale was so lucky to find all five ancient powers could be because they all wanted to be found by him. Why? To protect him. They were all on the same side of the war. None of the powers are the ones that the white star or his subordinate had. I know most of them came from the Birth of a hero book from Nelan Barrow but (SPOILERS that I found out that happens later in the series, be warned, 600+ chapter ?) it was said that the current god of Death could be the first Choi Aka Nelan Barrow. He was also part of the group of heroes from that time since he was the only survivor of the last battle because he was protected by the Scary cobblestone. If he had known about the original Cale, he could have written about them for Cale to find because he knew they would have wanted to protect him. Remember that some ancient powers in the book were mentioned, but never claimed. That itself is pretty weird unless it was on purpose. And Nelan Barrow might have written down only the powers that he knew that Cale had met, if he had met the ancient power after they had split since I don’t think they say at what time exactly he arrived in ancient time. It could be before, in, or after the war.
               f.       The world tree hint. Chapter 172 I think : “There were people like you whom I could not see their pasts nor futures. I could only see tiny glimpses of their near future.” And later. “– The owners of the ancient powers were just like you. I could not see them. (…) I couldn’t see through the arsonist nor the rock for brains.”
 2.      Cale ability “record”.  I have a theory that the ability people awakened in his version of Earth are things or power that they either consciously or subconsciously wanted. Like his team leader embrace that stem from his desire to become an actor in the past. The ability to “record”, thus remember things, might stem from him subconsciously wanting to remember people in this time since he forgot (because of reincarnation probably) his past life (or lives).
 3.      The Henituse motto. "There is no reason to be recorded in history. Live for peace and happiness instead." The key word here is “recorded”. Knowing Cale’s ability, this sentence hits differently. What if the Henituse family had ties to Cale’s earlier life (ves?) ? Or was created by him at one point in time if he had more than one incarnation? It’s an old, selfless noble family that ended up protecting people from the forest of darkness while quietly living their life. The motto is essentially how Cale wishes he could live. I always thought it was fishy when I read it. The first incarnation of Cale may or may not have had the record ability though, but may reflect Cale’s desire not to known as a hero or recorded as one. However, the two sentences still hold true to what Cale wants and desire, especially if he lived in the troubled/war time that was the ancient times.
 4.      The birthday conundrum. It seems the Choi of the past and present and Kim Rok Soo share the same birthday. It might be the “link” that allowed the Choi and Cale to transmigrated into the birth of a hero world. But I wondered something else, what if (Spoilers again like earlier, so 600+ chapter spoilers that I saw online) the link was more subtle or emotional. If the first Choi, Nelan Barrow, chose that day, his own birthday, to incarnate people to protect someone. Kim Rok Soo friend, the nephew of Choi Han, ended up dying to protect Kim Rok Soo. Choi Han is currently acting as Cale’s sword. Nelan Barrow, possibly the god of death, is using Kim Rok Soo to save the world, maybe 2 worlds since he was also a hero on Earth.  Anyway, the God of death seems like a complicated story that will get worse as it goes on.
 5.      Cale’s aura. The fact that people keep mistaking him for dragons/demons/some sort of other being. He could be related to the gods or be a divine race, or just a human favored by nature (and possibly his past friends that had a close affinity to nature such as the ancient powers). It points toward the fact that Cale is someone special in any case.
 6.      SPOILER Chapter 600+. Cale’s mother from the Thames family has a time/fate? Ancient power. The Thames family also gathered information about transmigrator and the sort. So there is definitively something going on on that side that has yet to be revealed.
 7.      Raon power is the present. It sounds like a strange power and, as of chapter 481, he hasn’t really used it yet. I kept wondering why he had that power. But if Cale’s time is related to the past, maybe Raon is going to be needed to secure is time in the present or something of the sort. But I feel like his power is a clue to the events to come.
 8.      Cale time is warped according to the white star. That itself doesn’t say much, but (SPOILER Chapter 600+ that I saw) Original Cale had not his time warped apparently. I am wondering if it’s because Kim Rok Soo transmigrated or if it’s actually because it’s is soul/heart that is from the ancient time.
 9.      Cale/Kim was supposed to die, but didn’t according to the god of death. His friend from Earth weren’t supposed to die, it seems. Kim Rok Soo was supposed to die, but it was never cleared when he was supposed to die. It could mean that he was supposed to die in the past, the ancient time kinda past. Yet, he is here now. I also find it weird that his past team leader on Earth took the time to explain to him, he who can remember everything, how is special ability, Embrace, work when it was not standard to talk about them. I also wonder a lot about him since he was the first one to find Kim Rok Soo and that he was one of the first to develop an ability, but that’s off topic.
Well, that’s all I could think off.
I’ll keep reading the novel when I get more time and probably think how a fool I was to write this. Bah, Tumblr is the land of fools. It would not be the first time I am completly wrong about something. And this novel is pretty good at being hard to predict.

Ramble abt ur comfort characters
thinking about how even though aizawa is not vain he isn’t oblivious to his own appearances. just because he doesn’t worry over his looks or how others perceive him to the point of actually changing himself to suit others standards, he’s aware of how he looks to the general public and to those he cares about.
he doesn’t dress up as much as mic of course, but he puts his hair up sometimes, he styles it. he wears different outfits than just sweats and a t shirt bc it makes him feel good to do something every once in a while.
but in any case, I like to think that he gets a little insecure whenever he gets a new scar (slight manga spoiler: especially about his new facial scar bc of just how noticeable) he knows that getting scars is a natural occurance as a hero, and that you shouldn’t be ashamed of them but when ever he looks into the mirror he can’t help but trace yet another scar, another flaw on a face that wasn’t all that pretty in the first place.
logic deems that he shouldn’t worry about to, mic loves him, but he still wonders, worries. despite his self assurances, sometimes things slip out. It’s not super obvious but he’ll make little comments to mic about his sporran right, like “guess I can scare the kids into behaving more” or “still love my beat up mug?”, all half joking but maybe not.
and when enough is enough and mics alone in the office or at home, he cups aizawa’s face in his hands and just holds him gently and reassures him that yes he does still love him and a new scar or two isn’t going to change that. and actually the double scar is hot anyway so what do you mean shouta, how come you get to look even better than before, with a joking smirk, with such sincerity and love poured in.
and in that moment even tho those doubts don’t completly go away, aizawa feels so loved and beautiful yeah I’m soft over aizawa knowing that no matter what scars he receives he’ll always be beautiful in the eyes of the one he cares about most

I’ve been thinking about getting a pet rat, do you have any tips or what to start researching??
Absolutely! Pet rats are fantastic!
Heres a bunch of general info!
They are easy to care for, super interactive and intelligent, they can be trained to do tricks, mine are shoulder trained, which means I put them on my shoulder and just leave them there while I walk around and do whatever else, and they just sit and watch and hang out and it's great (they have awesome balance) and they love it. They can even be litter trained.
What rat should you get?
The first thing to know, is you can never, ever, have only 1 rat.
You NEED to get at least 2.
They are very social animals, and they need a friend. I can not stress this enough. Under no circumstance should you be buying a single rat.
Having only a single rat, on top of being just generally cruel, leads to behavior problems, depression, aggression, anxiety and just a really bad time for both the rat and the owner. Most rat breeders will actually refuse to sell you single rat baby unless you already have rats and your looking on simply getting another one. Please do not buy a single rat.
The next thing to consider is whether you want males or females. There is actually a big difference between their behaviors, potential health problems, and even diets.
-Male rats tend to be more lazy, cuddly, and want to spend more time with you. However, they do smell more, as they scent mark. Males should never eat anything citrusy, (lemons, oranges, ect) as studies show it increases chances of tumors.
-Females tend to be more energetic and playful and just want to go,go,go. They don't want to be held as much, and good luck getting them to stay still long enough to cuddle. They smell less, though. They can have bits of citrus, but most reccomend to just steer clear of it regardless. Females are also prone to mammory tumors (how I lost hex) unless spade at a young age.
Some health tips for both genders:
-They can eat pretty much anything, I often call mine "glorified greenbins". They love supper leftovers, scraps, ect. One of their favour treats is the bones from cooked chicken(good for grinding down teeth too)
-in general, avoid things with too much protein and try to keep it low in their diet (so dont give them too much meat) protein has been linked to hair loss, tumors, and other health problems
-stay away from peanutbutter or other sticky foods unless its watered down. Rats don't have a gag reflex, and thus can't dislodge something if they choke. Many risk it, but it's not worth the risk in my opinion.
If you have a cat or dog, make sure their cage is in a place your other pets cant pester and scare them.
Their cage
Just some quick tips and info:
While rats don't need a big cage, the tiny hamster cage the guy at the pet store will try and sell you won't cut it, esspecially once they are full grown. I personally recommend Critter Nation cages (as most people do, they are the community standard) but they are expensive new. Search facebook marketplace or other sites for second hand cages, they are a great way to get a good cage cheap.
Rats will chew through any cage that isnt metal, they can't be kept in plastic bottomed cages either.
Rats need airflow. Most rat owners of the western world strongly disagree with keeping rats in tanks.
It's important your rats have at least one place to hide, somewhere out of site they can go if they feel stressed or scared.
Toys! Rats are very intelligent, and need stimulation! They arent picky though. While you can buy fancy toys, they also don't mind diy (theres plenty) or even just some cardboard boxes, pompoms, cardboard tubes, fabric scraps like old destroyed clothing cut up, socks, ect! (I could make a whole nother post on great rat toy ideas alone)
Rats are great climber and jumpers, something to keep in mind while arranging their cage
I'm ready to get my rats, where do I get them?
I'd personally urge you to avoid big pet store chains, as those rats are typically mass bred with little care. Leople have bought females that turned out to be pregnant, rats that had mites, ect. Search online to find local rat breeders. These rats are bred to be healthy, handled daily as babies, ect. They will be more expensive, but will have less health and behavioral problems and will typically live longer (trust me, I learned the hard way)
Other things to keep in mind and be aware of:
people don't like rats. Especially elders. I've heard it all, many claim you'll catch diseases from them (despite the fact theyve lived in their cage their whole live and have been bred to be pets. Where would they have caught the disease to give to me in the first place? Its idiotic and completly false) I've had family members comment rude things of their photos, "I'd scream if there was a rat on my shoulder" ect. (If you rent, you may have problems with other tenants or the property owner, worried about them "getting loose in the walls" or some sh*t)Don't let idiots sway you. Rats are wonderful, very clean and intelligent animals. Just be prepared to defend your babies, and teach/show people to give them the respect they deserve.
rats don't have a long life span, and while some can live to be around 5, most only live about 2 years. Just understand this.
Know you will make mistakes, and that's okay. Every single pet owner has and will make mistakes. You will learn.
Anyway, that about sums up my little spiel, but here are the basic topics to research when thinking about getting rats:
How to care for pet rats
Rat diet and limitations
Things to know about pet rats
There are many, many good resources online! I also reccomend joining some rat facebook groups. The people in them are super nice and informative to questions, and its wonderful having a community behind you, and have somewhere to go with any questions!
I hope this helped! If your thinking about getting rats as pets, I encourage you to! Just do your research. They make wonderful pets and companions.
Also know that I'm not an expert, or a vet, I'm still learning everyday. This is just what I've learned via owning them. I urge you to do your own research into some of the things I mentioned here.

People love to claim that Daenerys is mad, because she set the Masters of Yunkai and Meereen on fire, and later on the TV Show(that is not canonic in the books, thanks God, they ruined her in the last two seasons), to the Lannister Army and then King's Landing. (completly ooc the last One)
The whole people anti-dany comes with the same discourse: “This is a war crime. It is wrong to set people on fire. She is mad. Don’t you see what she is doing?”
Yeah. It is wrong set people on fire.
But why is always Dany that have to be called mad?
People don’t call Jon or Tyrion mad when they have done the exactly same thing? I believe that Jon is much more harsh when it comes to war. Much more than Dany ever was. I dare to say if he had a dragon, he would have done much, much worse to his enemies already. Don’t believe me? Read the books. You will understand from where I came from, because the show!Jon is not book!Jon. Show!Jon is like an innocent puppy close of his book counterpart.
Do you know something that is also wrong but you guys close your eyes? Feeding the dogs with a living person. Of course, this just happend in the show, but why you guys don’t come saying: Uh, Sansa is mad, look what she did.
Wait, but you don’t, do you? Because occording to you all “He was his enemy, he abused her, and he raped her.”
Do you think they would just kick her out of the city and everything would be okay?
No, they would rape her, humiliate her and then put her head on a spike. They would not just be like, “get out of here”. It is not a school fight, it is a war. You guys have to put it in your heads. A war where there is no Geneva Convention and no United Nations to help seeking a diplomatic solution.
Double standard much?
When it comes to comparing Dany to men, then? Sexism? Misoginy?
“Oh, but Sansa didn’t do it in the books.” No, in the books she is currectly helping poisoning an innocent child, so she can marry the next heir and become Lady of the Eyrie.
“Oh, but Dany conquered those cities and changed their culture and fucked their economy.”
First: She didn’t change the culture. She respected as long as there were no enslavement involved. She tried to please the Meereen lords, she studied their history, used their clothes.
Second: all the cities she conquered had the main “economy sustent” from slaves. Slave market. Do you support it?
If you had dragons, and an army, would you just look at them: Children, women and men treated as objects, treated like animals. Would you just turn your back, even knowing you could have done something to help? Or would you try to help?
Dany tried to help. She could just have burned the master and go with all her dragons, a dothraki/unsullied army and sail to Westeros, since according to most of you, she just wants to be Queen.
But she didn’t do it. She stayed and fought.
Jorah Mormont: Taking this city will not bring you any closer to Westeros or the Iron Throne.
Daenerys Targaryen: How many slaves are there in Yunkai?
Jorah Mormont: 200,000, if not more.
Daenerys Targaryen: Then we have 200,000 reasons to take the city.
This seems power hungry to you? Just to complement.
Do you know what it is like to be sold, squire? I do. My brother sold me to Khal Drogo for the promise of a golden crown. Well, Drogo crowned him in gold, though not as he had wished, and I… my sun-and-stars made a queen of me, but if he had been a different man, it might have been much otherwise. Do you think I have forgotten how it felt to be afraid?
She is not trying to change Yunkai, Meereen and Slaver’s bay so she can be queen. She is not doing this for power. She is not doing it for some selfish reason, she is doing it because she knows how is to be a slave, she knows what is to feel powerless. How it is to be objetified. And what else? She doesn’t want the others to feel the same. She doesn’t want others to feel like simple objects. Everything she has done in Slaver’s Bay was for selfless reasons. She is not doing it for herself. She is doing it for them, to rescue those people and the only way she believes that is possible changing the system is crowning herself Queen.
Why do the gods make kings and queens, if not to protect the ones who can’t protect themselves?
This quote is so strong.
She doesn’t believe that Queen is just birthright, no, she believes that a Queen, a leader, has to put their people in first place. It is not about you and your crown, it is about the powerless, the poor, the children and the women. It is about protecting her people.
Also, leadership is not all flowers and glitter. She is fighting a war and when you are a leader, a King or a Queen, you have to make difficult decisions. It comes really close of Maquiavel principles “The Prince” and is really good to read it by Dany’s point of view. Her conflict.
It is such a long way. I was tired, Jorah. I was weary of war. I wanted to rest, to laugh, to plant trees and see them grow. I am only a young girl.
Dany is not even 18. She is a child trying to help the others. Her actions are not out of madness. They are out of a selfless naivety and she is facing the consequences bravely.
They are not strong, she told herself, so I must be their strengh.
Bônus: Tyrion agrees with me.
[...]this Mother of Dragons, this Breaker of Chains, is above all a rescuer.
Bye!💕✨

Supercorp shipper here; personally I think Supergirl needed good writers and better character arcs for everyone (still disappointed Lena and Mon El never became friends) and consistency from the start. I feel like there's moments where characters grow but then in the next episode it's back bullshit drama. CW is definitely more of a soap opera for teens. Which is disappointing because the comic book counter parts are a lot better Also, if immature people keep hanging crap on fictional characters/ships I swear to god I will write a SuperValorCorp fic. Kara, Mon El and Lena will bang each other for every stupid comment
Bitch, do you ever wonder if the SG writers even LIKE the characters they write? WTF was their plan for Kara? Aside of being inconsistent? Where the fuck is her feeling being an outsider? Where is the "I remember Krytpon and I don't really feel I belong here" drama that made her DIFFERENT than Kal? Where is the I miss my planet, parents and friends, minus the few eps that were completly IGNORED later? (She was missing her mother so much and then she basically didn't even sweat or remember Argo). Where was her "Rao, these humans are so freaking annoying"? Instead what did we get? Oh right, good white American girl who doesn't give a fuck about her heritage. Plus being Kal's clone in a skirt. Oh wait, not anymore in a skirt *sarcasm*
I'm still so mad about screwing Mon-El and his lead allergy TT No, he should have not been cured like that. Instead of some fucking marriage drama NO ONE WANTED, he should have struggled with his disease.
And don't let me moan about Miss Luthor, because, in my very biased opinion, she had potential that was and still is constantly wasted and all we get now is white privileged super rich bitch that plays a god and still doesn't understand it's not something she should do not because it may kick her ass but it's just simply WRONG.
Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with these writers? Or should we blame Jessica Gossip Girl who should have NEVER ended as comic book based tv show executive?
Aside of the fact this show is fucking BORING, while playing oh so high and moraly mighty and enlighten and doing it WRONG. You can't fucking moan about justice and doing the right things while totally ignoring one of the main characters NEVER paid for horrible violating human rights or even really admitted it was wrong. That's hypocrisy and double standards.
And raodamnit, can this show be less fucking in your face? Kara tells Nia how killing people is wrong and is changing the person. Lena shots Lex. She is still amazing human bieng, uwu. *me, screams into the void*
LOL, write it, I will post a link to the fic but don't ask me to read it. Sorry not sorry, but on this point, thanks to the writers and part of your toxic fandom, I can only ship Lena with jail.
Thanks for the message :D

thoughts on loki episode 4
I’m not usually one to share thoughts on episodes of a show but this last episode was weird to say the least and I feel like I need to talk a bit about the fundamental problems I found with it.
I have a lot of things to say and don’t really know where to start so I’ll just start by saying that I loved the show so far, esspecially the episode before this one. Episode 3 for me really gave us depth in both Loki’s and Sylvie’s characters, I depth I personally didn’t think we were going to get at all. I want to focus esspecially on Loki confirming that he isn’t straight during the episode, which in my opinion was executed exactly the way I wanted. The show doesn’t seem like it’s going to focus on it much further, so I honestly doubt that we will see anything happen on screen between Loki and anyone who isn’t female, but I’m glad they acknowledged it. I feel like most of the time people just ask for sexualities and identities to be acknowledged and to be treated like what they are: a part of the character and who they are. Loki confirming that he had been with ‘a bit of both’ wasn’t weird nor out of place, it was a normal response in a conversation, and I feel like that it’s a perfect example of how to give representation even if the story isn’t necesarilly about love or sexuallity or identity. And since for me this show is about Loki, who he is and who he could become, it was amazing to see that they respected the character and touched all the points they did.
That being said however, I feel like they took several steps back from the steps forward they had taken on episode 3. And what happened on episode 4 and the problems it brings with it go far beyond any ship or headcanon I may or may not have on this show.
Starting with Sylvie, I have to say I wasn’t really feeling her at first. She was a weird combination between Lady Loki and the Enchatress which I didn’t really understand and wasn’t what I wanted when I said I would love for Lady Loki to appear on the show. However, I came to actually respect the character and how it was portrayed. In episode 3 we could see that Sylvie actually was a well rounded character which didn’t fall in a lot of the categories or cliches female characters are usually held upon, esspecially in superhero movies. I didn’t feel like she was strong because she was held to the standards of a man or because she acted like one. She wasn’t there to be pretty, but she also held a glimpse of femininity which wasn’t seen as a flaw. Overall I appreciated that she had a story of her own, and that she is strong while still being a realistic woman, and not one that is either completly unrealistic and seen through the male gaze or a woman who has to act and be like a man to be considered strong. I liked that we actually got to see her have emotions, which sounds weird to say, but its more often than not that women who are considered strong in movies and shows lack emotion and see femininity as something to avoid. Sexy and emotionless is usually the role given to strong women. Don’t get me wrong, there are really well written characters that would technically fall into those categories, but it’s the lack of characters like Sylvie which makes me appreciate the way she is, and that goes from her personallity to the way she’s dressed. And I have to say that in general the females in this show are really appealing to me and I enjoy watching them on screen.
And Sylvie was such an amazing opportunity on the show too, not only as a character but also because of what she represented. She could have started a conversation among the themes in the show regarding how Loki sees himself. Being a gender fluid character I felt like this was such an amazing opportunity to actually see an explicit conversation about it on screen. About how Loki didn’t question having a female counterpart of himself, and what that means to how he viwes himself and his identity. I was excited to see that, esspecially knowing that Sylvie was going to be there to do so so so much more than just helping Loki find himself. It was such a amazing dance that could have been created with the dynamics of these two characters, bringing questions about who the other really is while still being their own characters. I was esspecially excited because representation of the lgbtqi+ community is usually reduced to white young gay men, and when it comes to identity and gender esspeciafically, gender fluidity or non-binary identities are almost never talked about. And on top of all of that, this show involving these two romantically is disrespectful to both characters and makes absolutely no sense.
I gave it much thought yesterday, what it was that I really hated about this relationship being settled. There are so many heterosexual couples in books and movies that are so amazing and well written, and for some reason since the first moment I knew this wasn’t one of them.
I feel like the biggest problem I have with it it's the development of the couple itself. They talked once on episode 2, and it wasn't about themselves really so it isn't like that first conversation added to them falling in love. Then they spend not even a day together and out of nowhere they are in love. If something had happened that really made them bond and trust each other I would kind of buy it I guess, but looking at episode 3 in an objective way, their relationship being now romantic comes out of nowhere. They have a couple of deep conversations sure but them being in love feels so forced. They essentially don't really know the other and haven't lived enough together for them to fall for the other either. It doesn't have any emotional weight to me. They are doing Loki wrong by having him literally fall in love with the first person who slightly understands what it's like to me him. It feels plain, forced, and really out of place, especially with where Loki is at story wise.
I feel like if it was well written and we'll developed, and it happened later in the series (not literally one episode after the female lead appears), then I would have been weirded out but I feel like the character arcs they deserved wouldn't have been so messed up. I don't ship them so it's not like I would be rooting for them, but I wouldn't be as mad for sure. The fact that this forced love story is there affects the character development of both characters, which clearly deserve better.
First with Loki, it's an ongoing theme that has been brought up that he doesn't want to be alone. Having him fall in love, esspecially as quickly as it happened, is just sick. It feels like the way for him to feel whole and okay is by him being with someone else which I feel misses the whole point of the show. Second with Sylvie, it just completely breaks all the praises I gave to the character some moments before. Don't get me wrong, it's perfectly possible to have a female character who is also in a relationship without her being watered down to nothing more to a love interest, but the nature of the relationship here, it being so underdeveloped, breaks what she had build up. Sylvie right now feels to me like a means to an end rather than her own character. That conversation I believe she was going to start for the show, which I talk about earlier, doesn't go both ways anymore. I'm really upset because for me it feels like the second they explained who she was, introducing who she could become, she immediately became the love interest. We haven't even had time to really enjoy the character knowing now who she is.
On top of all of this, I feel like a love story this early in the show is going to take the main focus of the Loki series away. I'm scared the show is going to go from Loki discovering who he is, what he wants and how he feels, to him wanting to go back to Sylvie all the time and him being in love becoming the main focus of his arc. Same with Sylvie, I don't want her character's arc to go from wanting to come to terms with who she represented in existance and with how to live with what happened to her and be happy, to her wanting to go back to Loki all the time too. Love stories like that are amazing too, but not with these characters at this point in the show.
Honestly when the nexus appeared I thought it was because Loki finally had loved himself, which is something we don't see happen at any point in his story (including the Loki in the sacred timeline). It's a sad thought but I believed that what had happened is that after talking to a different version of himself and before dying, he had realized he finally accepted himself and that wasn't supposed to happen. I still hope they go with that rather than the love story, for both the characters and for the plot of the series.
But yeah that's it, it ended up being really long but I hope I was able to explain well what I was trying to say. Hopefully the show continues to treat these characters and their stories well and doesn't make any unnecessary decisions like the one they just did.

The way I saw "Mr. Universe" was that it showed a big contrast between how Greg grew up and how Steven grew up.
Before I begin, I do love Greg and don't think he was necessarily a bad father, but it is so clear how his upbringing impacted how he raised Steven in very negative ways.
Yes, Steven is half gem, but he is still partly human and that is something I think everyone, even Greg, and especially the fandom, forgets.
Nobody knows how school and doctors visits would have gone for Steven because nobody tried. Even when Greg had the money to be able to send Steven to school or the doctors, he didn't, not even online. And given how close Steven and Connie are and how Priyanka mentions how she'll talk with Greg during 'Growing Pains', Greg could have talked to her about it.
As odd as gem stuff is, in the SU universe it is shown that people tend to be rather chill about magic unless their life is in danger. Pearl has many human friends, Steven and Connie fused in front of strangers on numerous occassions, and the two have ridden Lion and teleported on him in very public places.
Everyone is acting as though gem stuff is super taboo and acting as though the SU world fits our world standards. Yeah, a lot of people are initially surprised at magic, but they also accept it very quickly (even Connie's parents were chill with Alexandrite formed and were impressed at Steven being grounded for so long, and we have been told over and over just how strict they were).
Which brings me to my next point in that I think that Greg's desire to not raise his kid the way his parents raised him, as well as the knowledge that Steven being half gem resulted in Steven growing up in an environment where he had no structure and no semblance on where he stood in the world.
There is nobody like Steven, we know that, and there are so many issues that nobody will be able to relate to him 100%. But he is still partially human and I think that he has every right to be upset that he never really got to experience being human.
Greg and Steven's upbringings are on two completly opposite sides of the spectrum. For Greg, his parents were controlling to the point where he was forced to do extracurriculars he didn't want, his hair was cut when he didn't want, and he even says that, to him, nothing he did was ever right. Greg clearly grew up in a controlling and abusive household and, while I think his parents loved him to a degree (keeping letters and photos instead of tossing them), I think that their love for him was them loving what they wanted him to be, rather than who he actually was.
Where as with Steven, Greg's desire for him to have freedom meant pretty much no structure. Steven could eat whatever he wanted, do whatever he wanted all day, no curfew, and didn't have an actual house to live in until he moved in with the gems, and we saw early on how often the gems would leave him alone to do missions. And Greg absolutely loves his son and adores him, and parents make mistakes, but I don't think Greg fully understands the extent of what the lack of structure combined with a tumultuous gem lifestyle did to Steven.
While he doesn't know everything, Greg at least knows of some of the dangers Steven has gone through (such as when he panicked when Steven told him about Jasper kidnapping him), and has even seen firsthand some of the dangers when everything with Lapis happened and he broke his leg.
And whether he realizes it or not, Greg has been treating Steven as more magical son than just son. In the beginning, especially when Steven was a baby and at the beginning of his adventures, it felt like Steven was being treated as a kid and just a kid. But as time has gone on and he has developed powers, I feel like a part of his humanity has been forgotten and is now coming out in full force via a reaction to all of the trauma he has gone through.
When Steven is talking to Greg about not knowing who he is supposed to be, he is meaning it in a much different sense than how Greg meant it. He spent his whole life being Rose, being Pink Diamond, fixing everyone's mistakes, every gems mistake, that now he is going to be thrown into a very human world without truly understanding it.
Yeah, he knows how to pay for stuff, drive, etc., but he missed out on so many human experiences because he had minimal structure and the human part of him was pushed to the side in favor of the gem part.
I don't think Greg was a bad dad, but I don't think he fully understands how the combination of Stevens circumstances have impacted him.
A lot of this is sloppy and if anyone wants to inquire further about it, I'm more than happy to talk or clarify. Sorry if this came across as an attack on Greg, as that isn't what I want this to be.

Season 4 episode 4: Mindful Education is the reason why Connie hasn’t shown up in Steven Universe Future.
And when she does it’s just going to be downhill from there for Steven.
Let’s be real, when Connie does eventually show up there are only a few possible outcomes that can occur, knowing what we know now. (As of ep 10 of SUF)
1. Connie will come down to take a break from studying, or just wants to hang out with her best pal and Steven’s heart isn’t going to be in it. He’ll be overthinking the entire time. After everything that’s been going on lately. The last thing he hasn’t messed up is his friendship with Connie. But then that underlining fear of losing her too will begin to creep as they spend the day together. Which will make him anxious as to not let it happen. But overthinking his worries will lead to him wondering if he’s any good for her in the first place. She’s going to leave anyway, like everyone else, why prolong the inevitable. And there’ll be a good chance we see him lash out at her Pink™️ Style unprovoked and uncharacteristically. As his way to distance himself from her. He doesn’t want to get hurt anymore so he’ll do the hurting to protect his already fragile heart.
2. Steven goes full Jasper and spends the entire episode uncomfortably trying to pursway Connie into Fusion. It’ll start small. “We could win that carnival game if we fuse.” “Nah, it’s more fun if we lose together.” “Let’s fuse. Stevonnie would be able to reach that.” “Alri-oh! How about we ask those gems for help?” If he can just get her to fuse with him he can keep her close. She won’t leave.. “let’s find Pearl and we can train as Stevonnie. Don’t want to get complacent.” “I’m pretty sure Pearl is going to be busy all day... we don’t need to fuse for fighting anymore Steven, the war is over. Why are you acting so weird today.” He can’t say it. He can’t admit that he’s so afraid of losing the last bit of normalcy. The one person who hasn’t left him yet. The fear will drive him to do the unspeakable. He’s going to grab her hand and try to force a fusion while anxiously laughing that they’ll have a better time as Stevonnie. In the sudden surprise and discomfort. Connie will say no. Being rejected won’t fly well for Steven and he’ll go Pink™️. I fear Connie may retaliate the only way she knows how. With a slap to the face.
3. Steven will resent Connie for who she’s become. It all starts the same with the episode having them interact for some reason or other. But this time, when he sees her, somethings different. The way she holds her posture, or the way she talks with such confidence. How she enters the room with an aura that reads: “I’ve figured my shit out.” He’s jelous. Her attitude will mimic a softer version of Garnet and Amathyst, she’ll know things she didn’t before but the wisdom will be beyond Stevens comprehension. Which makes sense after everything she and him have been through. But he won’t see it that way. She’s got her life planned out and she knows who she’s going to become. Because that’s how her parents raised her. But Steven is just going to resent her more for being more put together then him. It’ll end with her giving genuine advice on something because she truly cares and Steven will go pink™️ in agrevation. Because how dare she tell him how to live. She has know idea what he’s going through! How can someone his own age possibly know better than him?! Must be so nice to have everything figured out. Get to put on this act of superiority and shove there unwarranted “advice” around like some kinda saint! Hit with all his frustrations, Connie won’t yell back. She won’t counter his arguments. She’ll just wait and listen as the dam that is Stevens mental health opens the flood and he finally pours out everything he’s been feeling that he could never say in front of the Crystal Gems. It’ll end with Connie explaining that she’s just as lost as he is in life but she’s just not letting the fear of failing stop her. How she wakes up in the middle of the night wondering anxiously if she’s made the right choices. But knows she’s got a support system of people she can rely on. “It’s ok to not be ok, remember? Your not alone. You need to believe that Steven. I’m not going anywhere.”
Or 4. They do fuse but it’s not the fun times they’re used to and it’s just a rehash of Mindful Education but with the knob turned up to 10! The entire episode is Connie having to witness Steven forced into confronting everything he’s been worried about. All the anxieties. All the fear. Not being needed. Not living up to standards he’s placed on himself through years of a messed up upbringing. More complicated feeling towards his mother and the anger at the fact he hasn’t figured his shit out on the subject. Feeling inadequate cause he can’t pick a career path to his life. Why is everyone leaving him and why he hates himself for being so selfish. Scared of his own powers and there raw power to hurt people because of course the only birthright he’d be given by his mom would be a negative thing. Because he’s JUST A PLACEHOLDER TO THE REAL THING. HES ONLY HERE SO SHE WOULDNT HAVE TO CLEAN UP THE MESS SHE MADE!... he’s here only cause she didn’t want to be. And then Steven will completly break mentally. And then maybe big wormy boi?
I pray for our lil Pink jacket, black haired angel son and ship the poor guy with some gods damn therapy. Lord knows the kid could really use it. All in all I don’t know what will happen when she does finally show up, but I do know Steven isn’t done working through the trauma that is his life.

I enjoy hearing what's in your brain (oof that sounds weird sorry) so who if anyone do you think Leanne would pick up bad words from? I think it would be tibarn he seems like he has a aggressive pattern of speech
hmm good question ..... Its probably up to debate but here are my Takes :
- tibarn is definitely on the blunter side of things, but- I think his experience with reyson was enough to teach him that herons can and WILL pick up your mannerism, so whenever Leanne is around he'll suddenly drop his tone and be a lot more gentle and polite. In the end i don't think she'd pick up any bad words from him (maybe one or two if she stepped in at the wrong time and place), but I can totally see her using vocabulary, sentence structures and maybe a bit of slang that are usually only used by people from phoenecis.
- i like to think that nailah, tormod, muarim and stefan all have speech patterns that slightly differ from those from other people in the army, since they all lived in autonomous territories that don't necessarily interact with the rest of the continent. Differences include idioms, minor differences in grammar and maybe some little differences in their pronunciation, and Leanne gets lost really easily when talking to them because she struggles telling apart standard and regional languages and tends to mix them up. Now, I don't think nailah or muarim would teach her bad words because they're both very distinguished. Stefan... might use bad words in Leanne's presence, but probably not enough for her to remember them, since they'd be a bit specific and she wouldn't hear them much outside of that. Tormod? I think hanging out with sothe completly desensitized him to bad words as a concept so, YEAH, he's probably responsible for some bad habits of hers
- After interacting with Nephenee for a bit, Leanne also picks up EXTREMELY specific slang from the countryside. She never explicitly asked what it means and only vaguely knows with the context, so she tends to use it incorrectly and it makes it even more confusing for everyone
- i can see elincia being a bit too spontaneous and accidentally slipping a few times, especially in PoR when she is a bit awkward and isn't completly used to speaking with nobility.... Nothing too shocking, but just enough that she'd feel bad for teaching her that 😔
- mist. mist is a teenager and hangs out with Ike and Boyd and Soren so what exactly would you expect? She's nice but i think she may have done the most damage in this group. at some point reyson dropped the f word with her, she repeated it to ike who casually dropped it during an important and official meeting, and that's the story of how soren showed up to threaten reyson because he's a "bad influence for everyone". (well the thing is, mist is the one who taught reyson the word in the first place. shes known it since she was 8 and doesn't use it too liberally but will gladly educates anyone who might need it). Anyways, I'm still a sucker for Mist showing interest in ancient language so I think it'd be nice if Leanne and her studied together.... Leanne explains how to be mean in her language and Mist teaches her the f word it's called equivalent exchange !
- Reyson... Contributes? He doesn't completly approve of this, but he's glad to see his sister making progress, and since he's the most proficient in both languages he became some sort of walking dictionary. He won't teach Leanne bad things, but if she comes up to him and asks what that awful word tormod just said means, who is he to get in the way of knowledge 😔
- Oh it drives naesala completly crazy btw. At first he's genuinely upset because ever since they've been kids he's ALWAYS been watching his language around Leanne so she would be a distinguished lady or whatever. But after hearing her saying shitty stuff with her gentle voice he decided it was funny and may have changed his mind
But yeah, ultimately this is all about modern language - in my heart i know Leanne could and would say whatever is the ancient language equivalent of the f word at any given moment✌️
