" "Lockett in my Pocket" was a scrapped episode of Batman: The Animated Series, originally planned to air on February 28th, 1993. The episode would have been the debut episode of Elise Lockett, a biker gang leader who would become the Enigma, The Riddler’s henchwoman and love interest.

The episode’s plot would’ve followed the Gotham Hellcats, a biker gang that’s terrorized Gotham City since its’ founding by Lockett’s grandmother, Marianne ‘Hellcat’, and Elise’s encounters with the Rouges after robbing a jewelry store for an emerald studded locket.

On February 28th, 2021, scrapped frames from the episode surfaced, revealing most were reused in Season 2 episodes, such as Baby-Doll, Riddler’s Reform, and Harley’s Holiday. Fans have since speculated the episode’s cancellation was due to Lockett’s story bearing similarities to Harley Quinn or that her design was too complex to animate.

Lockett made cameo appearances in other episodes as a background character, often depicted in a blue dress and golden bird hairpin that may have hinted at a possible connection to the Penguin. Fans have theorized that Lockett’s cameo appearances were meant to be explained in her debut episode before it was scrapped for unknown reasons."

Background: A young singer in Saint Denis who is just trying to make her way in the world. Born outside the small town of rhodes to a loving couple of a vampire and a human. Unfortunately Claudia never got to properly know her parents. With the harsh disaproval against vampires and vampire/human unions, Claudia lost her parents to a hunt event when she was merely an infant. Rescued from the home by an elderly woman, she was brought back to Annesburg where she grew up safely within the confines of the town. The towns folk always considered her a little miracle to the town. She always helped the community where she could. As well as provided entertainment with her music and stories for the wary sailors who passed through. Forever a selfless woman, she eventually moved to Saint Denis to further her musical studies.

She lives a cushy lifestyle now. Surrounded by luxury and privileges she would not have gotten back in Annesburg. She does her best to keep her origins a secret to the public still. However it isn’t that difficult when she sings the patrons a song. Although she misses the town of Annesburg, she always remembers to send money to the orphanage there as well as the pub that got her started in her love for music.

Although she is a composed and refined young woman to the public eye, she is not so collected behind closed doors. She is sharp as a tack and a tongue equal in fierceness when provoked. A dainty lady ready to rip someone to shreds at a moment’s notice.

Suzanne collins wrote a trilogy where a main media propaganda strategy was to market a horrific act of violence as a love story to distract ppl and then it got adapted into a box office breaking movie and ppl made it all about the love triangle. so then since they didn’t get the point the first time Suzanne collins wrote a prequel story about the main dictator and she makes it so that you as a reader want it to be a genuine love story so badly even tho it’s so very clearly not and instead feels extremely unsettling to make her point even more meta which then gets adapted into another box office breaking film and now ppl are making romantic snowbaird tik toks. do u think she’s gonna write another book that’s somehow even more blatant or just give up and start executing ppl? hard to say but I wouldn’t blame her for the second one

thinking about how the hunger games were designed to prove that without society, order, government, someone to rule, we devolve into little more than animals, and how the games themselves prove over and over again that this is not true. We see it in every single game we witness.

Katniss placing flowers around Rue's body in the arena. Thresh sparing Katniss because she was kind to Rue, even though he was making it that much harder for himself to win.

Haymitch going back for Maysilee after hearing her scream even though their alliance had been broken. Haymitch holding her as she dies the same way Katniss did Rue.

Coral's "I can't have killed them all for nothing" when she realizes she's not going home. Lamina cutting down Marcus at great personal risk. And, my favorite moment in tbosas, Reaper collecting the bodies of his fellow tributes, his peers, even the ones who tried to kill him, into a pile. Taking the weapons from their hands. Closing their eyes and crossing their arms in the best approximation of a proper burial he can manage, covering them with the Capitol flag as a makeshift shroud.

The Games bring out the worst in people, yes. But despite the extreme circumstances, despite the exterior pressure of the Capitol, despite the fact that it could mean pain and heartbreak and death, it also shows that people have an enormous capacity for goodness. That even in a situation purposefully designed to make empathy impossible, people can't help but have it anyway.

Snow looks at the Games and all he can see is what's inside himself-- this pure animalistic drive to conquer and defeat. He kills and it feels good and he thinks that everyone else must feel that way too. He doesn't realize (maybe can't realize) that he is the exception, not the rule. He cannot see outside himself, outside his own warped perspective, to realize that the fact that people do show humanity in the games proves his entire worldview wrong.

Part 2: Claudia Fantana

I was tagged by dear, sweet @nemo-of-house-hamartia a while back to participate. I have many ocs to chose from (7 to be precise) but I’ve got many on my mind at all times so it’s hard to choose just one. That said I’ve chosen 3 to do. Part one can be found here. This is broken up into three parts (one for each character) so y'all aren’t scrolling for centuries.

Claudia Fantana

Claudia is an original character for a rp universe. Some of these answers are little suggestive.

Color: Red; the color of passion, energy, power and sexuality. Much like the rest of her, Claudia is a passionate woman. Both in her ambitions, and beliefs as well her security in her desires/needs as a woman. Hence why her performance attire is typically red, to showcase both her energy and comfort in herself. When she takes to the stage, she wants to give the audience a breathtaking performance. She will utilize her assets and gifts to wow them as best as she can. Whether they are wow'd by her voice, face or body is on them, not her.

Magical Powers: This is somehow both tricky and easy. Most straightforward response would be soundwave manipulation. Or vocal hypnotism like a siren. The scarlet siren is one of her aliases after all. However, that almost seems to direct for her. That said in another AU she has powers, and she is able to manipulate the air around her. This includes using her voice and projecting it at dangerous levels, creating wind gusts and manipulating herself to flight. So that's neat.

House Plant: Going to sound cliche, but a rose.

Weapon: In her main story she owns a pistol she carries in her little purse to protect herself from men who are a little too overly confident and handsy. It's an elegant little pistol and it is hidden well. So, I suppose that would the option.

Subject: Theatre.

Social Media: Pinterest

Makeup Product: Lipstick. Her performance attire is not complete without it.

Candy: Black Licorice. A funny choice considering she is quite popular in Saint Denis and the candy itself is not. However, it just felt right?

Ice cube shape: Star

Method of long-distance travel: Given the time period she lives in; she would ideally take a carriage. Although the train isn't out of the question, she much prefers the carriage as it is more convenient, and she can have more privacy with her thoughts.

Art Style: Hmm. That's a tough one. I typically don't think to associate my characters with a particular art style. First thing that comes to mind is oil paintings. Fluid and elegant much like her performance.

Mythical Creature: She is a Dhampir,,,, So I suppose a Vampire if I had to choose a full blooded one.

Piece of stationary: Books from her collection.

Celestial Body: Saturn. Similarly to Faline I'm choosing to look to their sign's ruling planets. According to a quick google search (again) Saturn is said to symbolize dominance, time and structure, work, and authority. Saturn is said to also represent father figures. Which,, is quite ironic considering she never knew her father. That awkward coincidence aside the symbolism adds up for Claudia. Although I am not one to typically take the zodiacs and horoscopes too seriously; I do find the connections and symbolisms fascinating from a writer's perspective. And as someone with autism who likes linking things together, it scratches a good brain itch. That said, Claudia is very time focused and dedicated to her schedule. She sets aside times each day to enjoy her mornings and evenings, and even has a routine set for maximum productivity. She is much more focused on the task at hand then I could ever be haha.

look i know the hunger games fandom is entrenched in songbirds and snakes brainrot right now but i just wanna mention how horribly genius the tesserae system is

like. it's designed to keep the poorest districts from ever winning the games, by keeping the population of those districts on the verge of starvation without ever tipping the line too far. the poorer you are, the more you need your children to take tesserae. the more tesserae your children take, the more times their name is added to the reaping pool. the more times a name appears in the reaping pool, the more likely they are to be drawn over a person who doesn't need to take tesserae. a kid who's been surviving off of tesserae grain and oil is exponentially more likely to die early on in the games due to the effects of malnutrition (low muscle mass and body fat, not to mention the mental consequences).

pretty much the only reason katniss was physically capable of surviving the games was because she'd been able to catch meat in the forest. surviving on just the tesserae she was taking for her mother and prim, there's no way she would've had the physical strength to make it out alive.

say what you want about the realism of the hunger games but the tesserae system is horrifyingly well-designed to do exactly what it's supposed to do.

what makes Snow such a formidable villain within THG universe is that nothing he does was set in stone. there was no sense of inevitability about his actions and his brutality. Snow had enough perspective of poverty, capital cruelty, district hunger and not to mention his own arena experience’ and yet he actively chose at every moment to stray from natural goodness. its even more terrifying in the sense that he had the ability to care. Snow is not a mindless sociopath, he displays feelings to others such as sejanus, lucy grey and tigris but ultimately he will always choose himself. his ability to betray those he cared about in order yo advance himself makes him so much more than the stereotypical villain who is forced into his actions.

Snow always comes across as cold and unbothered when he’s dealing with Katniss and the rebellion- but knowing how actually delusional and unhinged that man’s inner monologue is and with all the Katniss/Lucy Gray parallels I know when he was alone that man was probably ripping his hair out and screaming trying to figure out how the two are connected and assuming all of Katniss’ actions had ulterior motives that were directed at him.
