Oh my god 🥺

I can’t even think about Sylvie being the only roomdog left without having tears in my eyes.

Have I never even mentioned that before?!?! Because ever since the last scene in 9x16 it's all I've thought of. ok granted I probably didn't mention it because, you know, we went straight into PD and in case you know absolutely NOTHING about me I had a lot of feelings about that entire episode.

But that's the thing that kills me. Sylvie was worried about where she'd live, how she'd manage to make her way in Chicago. And then she moved in with Joe and Otis and it was her home. The three were there for each other, they helped her through her breakups, they hung out together. And then Otis was gone and she left Chicago and she probably never really got a chance to mourn him because she was thrust into Fowlerton and trying to be a Chaplain's fiancée and everything that was expected of her.

And then she came back and the memorial was there by then but she was still trying to get by so Sylvie was Sylvie and pushed her feelings down. She talked to Joe and Chloe, convinced Chloe that the relationship was a good idea and that it didn't come around very often. She got to be a bridesmaid at Joe's wedding, got to see her ex boyfriend who became a very dear friend get married and be in love and it made her happy.

And even through the year that has emotionally been hell for her - the on off with Matt and drowning her feelings, the stuff with Greg, living alone for the first time since she first moved to Chicago - she's had Joe there. She's celebrated his baby existing. If you tell me she isn't planning on baking something for the baby shower I'll call you a liar. I'm about 80% sure she's gonna be asked to be Baby Cruz's godmother.

And then the episode ends and she's staring out at the water where her male best friend is there, the fiancé of her female best friend, and two men who she cares about and has gotten to know and trust over the last seven years are there. And she knows exactly how much oxygen they have and how long they can stay under for. And she also knows what happens to a human body when they run out of air. But she's also the PIC on scene and has a victim to deal with even while she's worrying.

So yeah, I have a lot of feelings about Sylvie staring into that lake and waiting to hear about everyone. I really, really do. And now I'm sharing them with everyone and I'm not even sorry because this has been going around my brain for nearly three weeks and it feels good to get it out.

Omg Sylvie moves in with Cruz and Otis and the first thing she does is reorganising the closet next to the door with neatly labeled boxes. With different color codes and fonts. I adore her.

This headcanon might be a little weird, but I would like to think that Sylvie is a closeted Marvel fan. Reason being: Otis made both her and Cruz watch the entire MCU with him when they were living together. She loves the movies, but won’t admit it because when she does see something about Marvel nowadays, she gets emotional because it makes her think of Otis. Also, I firmly believe that Endgame was the last movie all three of them saw together. No one else can tell me otherwise!

I’m rewatching random episodes, and I just realized that Sylvies media genre is SO broad because of Otis and Cruz 😂

In a span of like 20 seconds they couldn’t decide on the human centipede, King Kong, black and white films or black mirror. Sylvie was ready for anything 🙌🏼

She also watched that old horror movie with Dawson.

Can’t wait for her to force old man Casey in to binge watching all the tv shows and movies he’s undoubtedly missed.

You’re so right, she’s probably well versed in almost every movie genre now because of them LOL! Like from film noirs to classic action to horror to Studio Ghibli. Even when Stella was over and they chose between cooking shows or true crime. Sylvie’s seen it all at this point probably.

I think the important intellectual question that must be asked now is this: have Joe and Sylvie seen Godzilla vs. Kong and if so, who do they think would win/should have won?? And if Otis were alive to complete the Roomdog trio, would he pick Godzilla or Kong? 😂

I also have no doubt that Sylvie would rope Matt into watching all the shows and movies he’s missed. She’s had a taste of a little bit of every genre at this point so she’d probably be able to find plenty of things Matt hasn’t seen but would like a lot!

My house CLAIMED to be a two bathroom. Sure, yeah, whatever, if you say so. There was/is a toilet, sink, and shower in the basement. I’ve spend the last couple weeks making it actually useable. It isn’t much prettier but it’ll function. Eventually I’ll make it into an actual bathroom, but just not right now. It should work for my creepy basement dweller……….er roommate when he moves in.

I loved shut up and hold me, love seeing caring/nurturing bf Casey trying to get Sylvie to look after herself for once, more of this!! Brett telling Kelly to checked out, supporting Chloe, clueless Gallo, sweet roomdog moments. That was just a really lovely story overall!

There was also another conversation between Matt and Otis where Matt talks Otis out of asking Sylvie out especially since she and Joe just broke up, I do not know if that means anything toward Brettsey but I just remembered this

I never really took that as a Brettsey related thing though. I always saw it as Matt being like "she literally just broke up with your best friend, who's also your roommate, who you also spend your entire shift with on truck. Don't. Fuck. This. Up."

Also if he had asked her out then Crotis wouldn't have been as amazing, and we'd never have had the roomdogs. And god I miss the roomdogs so much. Their ways of cheering Sylvie up after her breakup?!?!

Otis and Cruz are the best roomdogs ever! Look at them organising a pick-me-up schedule of activities including a screening of My Neighbour Totoro for Sylvie after she broke up with the chaplain. Ok, maybe they should have waited for her to properly wake up to tell her though.

Okay but going off of the perception of sylvie brett thing, it was mentioned in season 7 that she and Matt watch that show emergency

like I’m willing to bet they sit and point out all the inaccuracies till they get to a point where Matt has to turn it off because he gets frustrated 😂 and Sylvie is just giggling her head off!

Also she was ready to watch horror and action movies with her roomdogs! It’s always hgtv in fics, but her taste is so broad! Thank you for pointing out her love of other media things!

Oh my god yes, that too! They’d definitely watch together and laugh at all of the inconsistencies but Sylvie would be super into it anyway and it give Matt the biggest hearteyes. And when you think about it, we are to Chicago Fire what Sylvie is to Emergency. It’s interesting to think about!
