About Invincible, I feel the same. I remember watching that trailer that it's just Mark going about his day and I thought "Cool, it's a comedy superhero show", then I started hearing that there were many gore scenes in Invincible and I shrugged it off like "Nah,the gore is probably some Young Justice Outsiders level, just to make it more mature and stuff". But when I sat down to actually watch the show and THAT scene with Omni-Man and the Guardians started and my reaction was legit "WHAT THE FUCK". It's not what I expected but I liked, it's a good show
yeah for me it really set in with the last episode, like, for context, i binged the show today and i thought at first like 'oh nice it's a comedy superhero show' and i can handle gore and violence and whatnot, but when omni-man killed a bunch of people i was like 'oh uh- what?' but when omni-man pushed mark through the subway, that was really when my "WHAT THE FUCK" moment set in, because that was so violent and gory and unecessary and bro, i was just waiting for the punchline, like for someone to say 'it was all a joke, nevermind, go back to normal animated shows' so i could laugh, because WHAT THE FUCK? what the actual fuck like i joke about bruce being a horrible parent, but nothing can beat omni-man deciding "oh yeah i've treated this kid way too good for the past 17 years, let's give this fucker some trauma"
