Also I feel like you might have mentioned this before but I can't remember, in World Away, how quickly does Donnie establish a "lab"?

Does he still build a battle shell and tech-bo? Does he invent Shelldon? What about the Tank?

Also now wondering what his encounter with the Purple Dragons would be or is like, if he runs into them at all in this AU.

It takes him a little while, probably the better part of a year before he really gets a space you could consider a "lab". Donnie's still a genius, but his knowledge of tech prior to escaping was largely situational. He worked out how to use a computer and some programming basics from watching the scientists, he's worked out some basics of circuits by messing with the security measures around his enclosure, he's figured out some basics of physics just from pure observation and understanding of the world, but he's got a lot of gaps in his knowledge that he'll have to catch up on. Of course, as soon as he's free, April starts bringing him books from the library and eventually sets him up with a computer so he can study on his own and he covers ground really fast. It will take him until he's a few years older to catch up to canon Donnie but he moves fast.

He also has a tendency to take apart literally any device Splinter brings into the lair, and at some point Splinter decides it would be better to give him a space to play so there aren't exposed wires and screws and gears everywhere. He's not allowed to lock the door, and Splinter is a lot more diligent about checking up on him throughout the day, to make sure he hasn't hurt himself and is remembering to eat.

(In general Splinter is a lot more attentive in this AU than in canon - having his kids stolen right out from under his nose did a lot for his character development off screen.)

I kind of like the idea that 100ft Donnie actually doesn't build battle shells - after so long with his shell exposed I think he would find it a bit constricting. He does still build himself wearables that he can use for different purposes, including jetpacks and spider arms, they just connect to his body with more of an exoskeleton type design than a shell.

He will absolutely make his baby the tech-bo, the second his dad hands him that normal wooden bo he'll go "haha no thanks" and make his own. It'll take him awhile to get it right, though. And he'll definitely make Shelldon eventually, we can't leave his son out!

The tank is my favorite thing that Donnie has made so I'd hate to not have it... I think it just takes longer. Plus the kids aren't obsessed with Jupiter Jim right away anyway. They will be soon enough, basically the first time Leo sees one of the movies on TV it's over, but the moon buggy isn't something he'd recognize right away so he'd have to find it later.

Thinking of how the Purple Dragons could come into play IS interesting! I don't think they'd be classmates of April's in the universe, but still teenagers. Maybe in this timeline they meet Donnie while they're in the middle of their own heist and Donnie, attempting to get something for a project, just happens to run into him? He'd likely still be enchanted by the jackets, though, but I think he would just try to steal one haha.

They think he's some kind of weird gremlin and they don't understand how he keeps messing up their tech.

Cabinet Man Hippoworm AU

I’m having intense brainrot so I’m combining two of my special interests (Lemon Demon and Hippoworm) into one AU - let’s trudge through my insanity together, shall we? (also, this is a human AU, everyone except the turtles are human)

Ron (Hypno) is a magician and he’s also been shown to be pretty good with technology, so it wouldn’t surprise me if there’s a version of himself that did the “ultimate” disappearing act and decided to turn himself into an unwinnable game. Why did he do this? Well, he tried out an actual magic spell he found and then things went sideways fast.

When Ron’s disappearing act is later reported as a death in the news, it’s of enough national interest for local newscaster Warren Stone to go out of his way to perform his own investigation. Soon enough, all of his leads run cold, leaving him at his wits end as he goes to his final site of interest, Albearto’s pizzeria.

Things are going just as poorly until the Hippo Crush arcade cabinet in the back draws him in, a nearly hypnotic pull that has captivated everyone else in line; children all waiting patiently for their turn. No one’s winning but no one’s complaining either. It’s an eerie silence only broken by sounds of 8-bit game play and the occasional button mash. And yet as Warren appears, the line parts, as if someone had pulled the kids aside with strings attached.

Warren reluctantly steps forward, the first step reluctant at least. The rest of the walk up is calm, his nervousness overridden by some unseen force. Compelled beyond his will.

So when he finally does get to the object of his complete attention, he blinks in surprise as the screen crackles and then flashes to life. Now filling his vision was the digitized version of the supposedly late Ron Pēwhairangi. Warren watches as Ron looks him up and down before winking.

There’s a moment of putting all the pieces together before Warren exclaims:

“Oh my god, you’re alive!”

Ron simply smiles back him, chuckling.

“And you’re as smart as you are handsome.”

Warren asking Ron how the hell his whole situation happened and getting a wild answer

The Purple Dragons break into the arcade one night to bust the machines for old tech and then they come across Ron and start destroying his cabinet

There’s gonna be a lot of traumatized teenagers

Warren enlists the help of Donatello to help fix Ron and things get fucky fast

Turns out a half-man half-machine is hard to fix

Oh, and April is working at Albearto’s the entire time and does her best to keep her job so she can keep spying on her favorite newscaster. She knows there’s something up with the Hippo Crush machine but never suspected that it was alive. The only knowledge she has about Ron comes from Leo who was incredibly upset that his favorite magician died a couple years prior.

I like hurting Donnie

So remember how like, back in March, I made this post where I said quote "I'm currently in the midst of making an angsty Donnie comic instead of finalizing my Raph and Mikey designs"?

That was true! And now I've...finally colored one page of it! Will it actually be continued? Dunno man- there's a continued script, but uh...we'll see. I have written a bit of a story for it, but that's not posted anywhere. I also have not done the Raph and Mikey designs still but shh.

Point is, Kendra is the leader of the Purple Dragons- a gang that specializes in using tech to commit crime. Kendra's tricked Donnie into giving her his tech. It wasn't even that good a trick, but my Donnie is very gullible.

Hmmm Mona Lisa and Karai

The two get kidnapped and are being held as bait for the boys. Unfortunately for their would be captors they aren’t as helpless as they would appear.

Gimme an AU and I’ll give the plot

The first question is WHO kidnapped Karai and Mona Lisa? If we’re going by the timeline of 2012, it can’t be Shredder or any of the Foot Clan members because by the time Mona is on Earth, the Foot Clan is officially under Karai’s rule, Shredder is dead, Tiger Claw surrendered, etc. The options we got are either bring back an old big bad they must face again OR bring in a brand new big bad.

For this, I’ll bring back an old enemy of there’s and for this story I choose Hun and the Purple Dragons. Cause those guys kinda vanished after season 4.

So in this story I imagine that Karai and Mona Lisa are having a hard time getting along and finding common ground. They don’t like each other. Think of it as two alpha females trying to prove to each other who is superior, the better fighter, and the true “Queen Bee”.

What leads to their kidnapping is that both Mona and Karai separately spot the Purple Dragons committing some sort of crime and they jump in to stop them, and both women are mad that the other is present during this fight, accusing one other of trying to “steal their thunder”. Because the women are more focused on bickering and trying to upstage one another, Hun and his men take this distraction to their advantage and knock the girls out resulting in their kidnapping. Hun plans to contact the Turtles and hold the girls for ransom, telling them if they don’t meet his demand of a million dollars, the two girls will be killed, or like you suggested use the girls as bait to get to the Turtles.

Regardless of the Purple Dragons plan, this moment of being kidnapped would result in Mona and Karai finally settling their differences and working together to escape and stop the Purple Dragons for goood. This story would be the origin of how Mona and Karai became friends.

The ending would be similar to how the episode when Raph first met Casey went down, with the first time everyone saw them together they hated each other and fighting but now seeing them together again they are now BFFs! This sudden change in dynamic between the two women shocks everyone, but brings some peace as well knowing that Karai and Mona won’t be at each others throats anymore. Plus Raph is happy to see that his sister and girlfriend are finally getting along.

ok wait, you might have made this clear before and i just forgot, but in tm(n)t are the purple dragons more rottmnt flavored (tech club) or other tmnt flavored (actual gang)?

uuuuuuuuuuhh i mean ive discussed it but like. barely. like 2 posts or somethin.

first and foremost the purple dragons are, like most villains in this iteration, extremely underdeveloped :') so anything i say here is liable to change

uhhh secondly, definitely more of a gang. but like. idk not like a super serious gang-wars kind of gang?? idk if there's a word for it, but they're like a small crime family mostly made up of previously homeless kids. so kind of more like "lets go gang!" than "3 killed in gang related activities" THAT BEING SAID they do still get violent regularly. idk if I'm making it clear what i'm tryna do here.

augh, so basically I'm thinking it's some kind of group that's in the pocket of the foot clan, but isn't actually the foot clan. As in, they're funded by and work for the foot, but they aren't ninjas themselves.

just a little blurb as i figure out the ninja turtles in amphibia au

ok i just realized, around season 3 Polly is gonna need access to someone who actually has tech knowledge while in Newyork, but ally and jess aren't exactly an option, leading to an idea that will probably go horribly wrong for Polly, Polly seeks help from the purple dragons to put frobo back together again, probably resulting in them using frobo to break into some big tech corporation or something sense the mans got friken lazer cannons and brute strength that rivals Raph. plus frobo himself is interdimensional technology so he's also a pretty good thing to try and take, even if he is just a broken head.

why she doesn't ask Donnie? he's stuck in amphibia right now of course! plus Mikey and Leo don't know how to work with tech so they aren't really options.
