Summary: You feel extremely burnt out and unmotivated, so the trio (separate) help you out!

Norman:

Ever since the escape plan had been mentioned you’ve been devoting all your free time to working on it, including play time. All the children, including Norman, were getting worried. Yet you insisted that you were just fine and were simply working out some things.

It got to a point where you skipped meals and even stayed up instead of sleeping.

Norman would wake up in the middle of the night to see you sketching out a layout and taking some notes before thinking of the pros and cons, then crumpling up your failed idea and throwing it to the side before starting anew. He’d quietly scold you before bringing you to bed with him and holding you tightly in his embrace so you couldn’t escape, you eventually giving up and staring around the room, instead doing the calculations in your head. You usually only got 1 hour of sleep if not then none.

Norman eventually got used to you not showing up to meals, and would keep your food hot to the best of his abilities whilst eating his food. Once eating time was over, he’d walk up to your room and bring you your food. Though he’d begin to notice how you only took a few bites before completely ignoring it and focusing on your work.

He soon got fed up and confronted you about it, but you wouldn’t budge. He soon gave up and instead just tried to take care of you to the best of his abilities. But over time, the sleepiness and hunger caught up to you, to the point you could barely function. You awoke in the infirmary after passing out in a pile of crumpled papers (luckily Mom didn’t find a single one), with a worried Norman by your side.

“Please (Y/N), never do that again..” You could only be ashamed of yourself as you saw the albino whimper and cry. You hadn’t realized how much you were hurting him. When you got out of the infirmary, everyone assumed you were fine. But in reality you were still out of it. Walking and talking was a challenge, so Norman walked with you and didn’t question it when you didn’t respond to something. He saw this as you learning your lesson, but didn’t rub it in your face.

Eventually, the physical effects had long since healed, but you were still mentally exhausted. You tried your absolute best, but you had no motivation to do anything, instead only being able to lay on your bed all day and occasionally eat. Norman assumed you were overworking yourself again but was surprised when he walked i to your room to see you nowhere near your work, instead you seemed to be avoiding it like the plague, getting stressed and uncomfortable when it was brought up. Finally, you gave up the act, and collapsed onto Norman’s lap with tears filling your eyes.

“Norman… I can’t do this anymore. I can barely function. I don’t want to do anything anymore..” You sobbed, soaking his shirt, but he didn’t mind.

“Lay down and rest for as long as you need to. I’ll get everything done for you.”

“Really?…” You could barely lift your head to look into his ocean eyes, but when you tried to, it was pushed back down into his chest.

“Yes, now stop pushing yourself to do things. Your body is exhausted. You and your body need rest.” You could barely listen to his words as you made yourself comfortable on your bed. Norman smiled at your sleeping form before walking over to your abandoned work. He looked over your sketches and notes and quickly built a plan, one that wouldn’t fail. He disposed of all the evidence and hid the final paper behind his bed, where he’d tell everyone the plan tomorrow. For now, he needed to give you the attention and care necessary to get you back to your old self.

Ray:

You just had so much on your plate. It was so little work that could be done within just a few hours, but today was just not your day. Everything around you was stressing you out and you didn’t know what to do.

Mom wanted you to do chores, the kids wanted you to play with them, Ray wanted to read with you, you have to help with the escape plan, and you have to pretend you don’t know the secret. It was too much for you to handle, and not knowing what else to do, you cried. You hid yourself deep in your blankets and sobbed into a pillow.

Ray was walking towards the library when he suddenly heard a noise coming from your room. Cracking the door open and peeking in, he saw you sobbing your little heart out. His soft spot immediately came out and he rushed toward you, patting your head.

“(Y/N), what’s wrong?” He pulled you out of your hiding place and allowed you to sob into his shirt until you could speak.

Your tears finally came to a stop and you pulled away, drying your face with your sleeve, telling him your worries. The boy laughed a bit and ruffled your hair.

“I could easily help with that.”

“You can?”

“Yeah, I can take care of your chores, Norman or Emma can play with the kids, and I can just read to you. The Mom part is easy, just be yourself. Don’t show any signs of fear and don’t be suspicious. You need to think of reasonable excuses on the spot. I know you can do that.” You smiled at the raven haired boy and fell into his embrace once again.

“Thank you, Ray…”

“Yeah, now lay down. You want a snack or anything?” You shook your head no and he nodded, laying down next to you and pulling out the book he was holding before he came in here. Flipping to the page you two finished on, he began reading aloud to you as you rested your head on his shoulder and finally relaxed.

Emma: (this one is more female-based but still gn!)

You were on your period and just didn’t feel like doing anything, so you did just that. You and Emma were best friends, and did everything together. You were inseparable. So she of course began to get worried when you stopped hanging out with her to instead stay in your room. Did she do something wrong?

Eventually she decided to confront you about it, so she marched upstairs to your room and knocked on the door. When there was no answer from you, she opened the door and let herself in. She was mortified by the sight.

You were curled up on your bed, clutching your stomach and grumbling, shifting around trying to get comfy. There were tissues, toilet paper (let’s pretend there’s no pads cuz you aren’t expected to get your period at this age, so you gotta do it the tp way 🥲) and snacks covering your night stand. Your hair and room was an absolute mess. Emma got the hint that something was wrong but didn’t know what, since none of the orphans knew what periods were, not even you since this was your first. You just knew you were in pain and bleeding like crazy.

She ran over to you and held you in her arms.

“(Y/N) what’s wrong?! Are you hurt?!” You weakly nodded, and she began screaming for Mom.

Isabella came rushing in, seeing the mess of you. You were put in the infirmary, and you told Isabella your symptoms. She laughed, soon realizing what was wrong with you.

“You’re on your period, dear.”

“My what?”

“Your period, it comes every month.”

“Why?”

“I’ll explain when you’re older, dear (Y/N).” You grumbled in defeat, staring down at your stomach which felt like it was eating you from the inside.

“So I have to suffer every month?”

“I’m afraid so. It usually lasts for a week, but there are ways to ease your pain. I can also help you with the blood.” Isabella got you pads and a heating pad. She was shocked you were the first to get a period, she’s never had to deal with this before. First time for everything I suppose.

You told Emma what Mom told you so she’d somewhat understand your situation, but you made her promise not to tell anyone, especially the boys. She happily pinkie promised.

Whilst you were “sick”, as Emma told everyone to cover for you, you were completely unmotivated to do anything. It hurt to move, and you felt exhausted. Either Mom or Emma brought you your food, and Mom put your testing thing on a platform with wheels so you could take your daily tests in bed. Emma would visit you multiple times a day, only leaving your side for testing or when she had to go do something. You eventually told her about your lack of motivation and your mood swings, to which she was quick to comfort you.

“Don’t worry, I know your period makes you feel certain ways you wouldn’t normally feel. Mom said these usually last a week, and it’s been 5 days! You’ll be back to your old self in no time!” You smiled at her positivity and opened your arms for her, to which she happily collapsed into.

“Thank you Emma, I love you.”

“I love you too (Y/N)!” You felt better already. Yes, she was right, things would be back to normal soon.

I think you're being a bit too harsh about the Kagurabachi "hype" lol. A lot of people KNOW it's pretty generic- the community began hard trolling about the previews being the next "it" WSJ manga before the 1st chapter even officially came out. Most of the high scores and praise are coming from a sense of being ironic. The meme (and therefore the series too) just became extremely popular because it parodies/makes fun of Shonen Western fandoms on social media. So the less you take the Kagurabachi "hype" seriously, the more you're going to have fun with it.

I agree and disagree in regards to that last point. Kagurabachi has only ever been "alright". If you want something to fill the time, I suppose it's alright. But just look what's debuted around it. Mama Yuyu has a strong art style and character design, a creative story with an idea that it executes upon, and arguably the best paneling and layouts we've seen from a new manga within the last 5+ years. Two On Ice completely trounces Kagurabachi in terms of the quality of art, character designs, and its ability to convey movement. Stories are incomparable since they're entirely different, but even then I'd still say Two On Ice shows more potential for being able to give readers something.

I do agree with my being harsh, especially since it can be rude and dismissive of the effort that the mangaka has put into their work, especially since it's something I'm certainly unable to beat them at. I think one of the best parts of Kagurabachi is its environment art, personally. It's just that we don't get to see that too often.

Now, in regards to first piece about it "being a meme" and that it's not actually popular or well regarded. Yes and no. A lot of people do still take it as a joke, the issue is the fact that people see the joke of it being "the greatest ever" and buy into the series being good because of it. I think you're potentially a little... lax (?) about the idea of it being generic? It's hard to explain, but let me provide a little anecdote from people that I know, that I've talked to.

I just witnessed a conversation in a Discord server (via a friend) where people were trashing on the Frieren anime. Even though they echoed some of my complaints with the manga, bagging on what's visually the greatest anime of the season hands down is just sort of mind boggling.

But that's the tip of the iceberg. I know people out there that will watch every harem series. People out there that will religiously commit to isekai series, and have said "I don't care if doesn't look good". I know of people that will refuse to watch Cloverworks series because of The Promised Neverland but can't tell you which series are from Cloverworks.

Until you really come across it, it can be really hard to understand. But in my experience, the average animanga fan is borderline insane in how they approach media. Rhyme and reason in the way that someone like you or myself see it doesn't register on their radars. So where there's hype, whether it's ironic or not, people like the ones I mentioned will flock to it in a genuine fashion. Hopefully that helps explain my harshness on the popularity/reception of Kagurabachi.

Kingdom Hearts Final Mix Recap: End of the World

Sora, Donald, and Goofy arrive in a cavern known as the Gate to the Dark. They walk towards the mouth of the cave, which opens to a watery plane known as the Final Dimension.

Goofy makes note of what this world is, the remnants of all the worlds the Heartless have consumed, merging together into a nightmarish hellscape. (Just, with more in-character word choice than what I used, even if I would love to hear Bill Farmer say "Nightmarish Hellscape" in his Goofy voice.)

Sora asks if all the worlds will go back to normal once they defeat Ansem, but wonders what will happen to this world and them, by extension.

Goofy figures that the End of the World, being a Heartless world, will disappear, but doesn't think they will. Their hearts are too strong for them to simply disappear.

Sora takes out the Oathkeeper charm, and promises to return it.

The Final Dimension has several invisible walls, forcing Sora to rush between the little rocks on the water's surface while dark globes rain from the sky.

Sometimes, one of these globes will drop right onto the trio, forcing them to fight Heartless in order to escape.

In addition to that, some of the chests ALSO contain globes of darkness, but these at least reward you with the contained item once they're cleared.

However, upon reaching the cavern at the opposite end of the Gate to the Dark, another globe of darkness drops down on the trio, this one containing an Arch Behemoth.

Upon defeating it, Sora, Donald, and Goofy are deposited at the top of the Giant Crevasse, with Donald wondering where Ansem is. Sora remarks that he's going to be in the darkest, scariest part of this place, and from this point on, the trio will be going farther and farther down in order to progress.

The bottom of the crevasse features both a Save Point and a gaping hole. This hole leads to the World Terminus.

The World Terminus is the most iconic location in the End of the World, consisting of multiple pillar-like structures that each correspond to one of the worlds with a Keyhole the player can lock (so both Destiny Islands, which was destroyed, and Monstro, which isn't technically a world in the lore, are absent), all floating in an empty void.

In the center of each world is a terminal. If Sora has locked that world's Keyhole, the terminal will be a pillar of violet light and he'll be able to progress. If not, the terminal will be blue and he'll have to enter and battle Heartless to progress, dissolving into dark mist every time he enters a Terminal.

Note: Each one of these terminals has a treasure chest that holds an accessory, so skip them at your own risk.

Anyway, each one of these terminals links to one of the previous worlds, and go as follows:

Traverse Town's Third District (with the same layout as the first Guard Armor Battle).

Wonderland's Rabbit Hole.

Olympus Coliseum's Coliseum Gates.

Halloween Town's Torture Chamber (complete with Halloween transformations, the only time the Torture Chamber can be accessed outside of the Oogie Boogie boss battle).

The 100 Acre Wood is the penultimate terminal, and the pillar of sparkling light leads to the Meadow, which in turn contains a Save Point and a Treasure Chest that holds an Elixer. He also dissolves into sparkling lights instead of dark mist, and there are no enemies to fight.

This is also the only time in the series that Donald and Goofy enter the 100 Acre Wood.

The final terminal is a pillar of flame, and leads to the Laboratory where Ansem performed his experiments in Hollow Bastion. Sora, Donald, and Goofy are spat out of a portal in the hall outside, with the way forward blocked by a Heartless Emblem, meaning the only way to progress is to enter the lab proper. Of course, first they have to defeat the Heartless.

Inside the lab is a strange machine consisting of five pods hooked up to a sphere filled with bubbling liquid.

It's purpose was unknown at the time of release and remained unknown until very recently, but the important thing is the terminal in front of the machine, and its message:

Ones born of the heart and darkness, devoid of hearts, ravage all worlds and bring desolation. Seize all hearts and consummate the great heart. All hearts to be one, one heart to encompass all. Realize the destiny: the realm of Kingdom Hearts. The great darkness sealed within the great heart. Progeny of darkness, come back to the eternal darkness. For the heart of light shall unseal the path. Seven hearts, one Keyhole, one key to the door. The door of darkness, tied by two keys. The door to darkness to seal the light. None shall pass but shadows, returning to the darkness. Ones born of the heart and darkness, hunger for every heart until the dark door opens.

After Sora reads this message, he's ambushed by more Heartless, and can't leave until they've all been destroyed.

Upon leaving, the pillar of fire is replaced by a hole, the wind passing through it howling.

Dropping down this hole leads to the Evil Grounds, where Sora, Donald, and Goofy fly above the bald mountain, and encounter none other than Chernabog.

Chernabog doesn't think much of these insects at first, casually sending his attacks after them and occasionally making his volcano erupt, but these mortals just refuse to die.

That's irritating, might as well start calling upon wisps and use his other powers.

But then they continue to survive.

And then they start to win.

Chernabog scrambles to regain control of the battle, but it's too late. Even after throwing everything he has at these three insignificant mortals, he still can't win. In the end, he vanishes in a blast of white fire, having survived the destruction of his world (which he may have wrought himself) only to be felled by three mere insects who only regard him as an obstacle to stopping their own enemy.

A fitting end for one of Disney's most iconic villains, wouldn't you say?

Sora, Donald, and Goofy fly into the crater, and then walk through the remains of Aurora's, Snow White's, Cinderella's, and Belle's worlds, dropping down lower and lower, until they come across a small room known only as the Linked Worlds, a Heartless Emblem in the back of the chamber.

There, a second Arch Behemoth drops in out of nowhere to block their path, but is felled by Sora, Donald, and Goofy.

A piece of the Heartless Emblem breaks off.

More and more Heartless assail the trio, only to fall one by one, the Heartless Emblem crumbling more and more until finally, the last Heartless falls, and the way forward opens.

This chamber is the Final Rest, containing the final Save Point our heroes will ever see, and the very same door from the Dive to the Heart that also appeared at the Secret Place.

Entering this room unlocks the final bonus boss, and the hardest boss in the entire game.

To access this boss, Sora must return to the chapel in Hollow Bastion, and enter the dark portal that reopened.

When he, Donald, Goofy, and the Best emerge, they find the room they battled Maleficent's dragon form in to be suspiciously empty. But then a man in a black coat appears out of nowhere behind them and walks through Sora, and text from earlier scenes flashes on screen against a black background.

Ah, it seems you are special too.

Goofy, using archived audio of the first time he uttered Ansem's name, questions the coated man's identity.

That name rings familiar.

Sora expresses frustration at the man's cryptic words (again, with archived audio).

You remind me of him.

He then blasts Sora with a bolt of energy, with Sora blocking and deflecting the shot into the ceiling with his Keyblade, before asking what that's supposed to mean as dust rains down.

It means you are not whole. You are incomplete. Allow me-

He deploys ethereal blades from his palms.

-To test your strength.

This is the Unknown. He is the hardest boss in Final Mix, designed to be a final challenge for the player to overcome after conquering everything else the game has to throw at them.

His battle is also canon, and incredibly important to the plot of a later game.

He attacks with his ethereal blades, bolts of energy, spheres of energy, and even locking Sora's Command Menu and forcing him to play a sort of reaction mini game to break free as his health is whittled away. This battle puts all of your skills to the test, but if you emerge triumphant, you'll get an eerie cutscene.

The Unknown immediately shrugs off all the damage Sora, Donald, Goofy, and the Beast did to him in the cutscene, revealing that they barely even scratched him.

Impressive, this will be enjoyable.

Sora demands to know who he is.

It is beyond your comprehension, for now. Until we meet again.

He begins to fade away.

I am-

His answer shocks Sora.

But a mere shell.

Sora is rewarded with both an EXP Necklace (but odds are you'll already be the Level Cap if you're fighting him), and the thirteenth and final page of Ansem's Report:

Where does the body go when it separates from the heart? If the soul remains within the body, is it still considered to be deceased?

When the heart returns to the Heartless, the physical form disappears. But that is merely true in this world. Perhaps the body exists in another form in another world.

If that is the case, then it is possible for one to exist in two worlds.

A being that is neither darkness nor light; belonging nowhere; abandoned by its heart; a mere shell of its former self.

The relation between the heart and body is complex. However, I am certain that if your self exists here, then by definition, the other cannot truly "exist."

The other, the one which does not exist, shall be dubbed, "Nobody."

Back in the End of the World, Sora approaches the Door. However, before he can open it, the voice from the Dive to the Heart warns him that the door is one way, and he will not be able to return once he enters it.

Only Sora can hear the voice.

The voice encourages Sora, and reminds him that he is the one who will open the door.

Interacting with the door a second time(hopefully after some preparation) leads to Sora opening it, and crossing over to the other side with Donald and Goofy.

Sora, however, is shocked to discover that he's back on his island.

The journey ends where it began.
