Hello my pal, do you like FAES? (Don't worry I'm not randomly sending you a fae)
Faes are awful in a good way they have so much potential for becoming monstrocities through art and lore
(but my fav breeds are and will probably remain Skydancers, Obelisks, and Veils unless water ancient is shark themed. in which case it might beat out SDs as my fav. love me some sharks fr fr)

[1]concept: just being around a monstrocity/witch makes u take in corruption bc they're like, leaking it or something so along with contracts in general having timelimits on when they end battles could also have time limits on how long you're supposed to fight b4 u being in battle is an active hinderance since you'd start getting more corruption than could be cured once the monstrocity is defeated? which could lead to part of chiakana's witch-en-ing being from bc they never payed attention to the battle timers and just kept fighting until the end again and again bc "a true hero never gives up!" or something equally as depressing in context 😌
[1]theres one very close battle where chiaki gets fatally injured and eventually knocked out; kanata suddenly awakes in his human form, chiaki in his lap in the worst condition. pale, sweating, bleeding, brink of death. in desperation, he uses his magic to heal chiaki completely, letting him rest before overexerting his power as a demon to defeat the witch that nearly killed him— after then, their corruption never goes away, no matter how many witches or monstrosities they take on, no matter how earnestly they fight. kanata simply used too much magic, accumulating too much corruption. the brainworm begins to eat away at kanata, that chiaki is mortal and one day he will die to being a magical girl, leaving kanata alone
a precondition of a contract requires a magical girl’s wish to be granted in order for a contract to form every time rinniki forms a contract, niki wishes for something small and inconsequential so he doesn’t use up too much of rinne’s power — usually a food ingredient he’s been dying to cook with. and he makes rinne promise he won’t die to the monstrosity/witch he’s fighting, because who else is gonna taste-test the meal he makes afterwards
awwww i like that
after the first emergence of witches, “units” are formed where magical girl-demon weapon pairs are grouped up in order to provide support to each other and better monitor each other for Possible Witch Activity ryuseitai is a “training” group where chiakana help potential magical girls and demons get accustomed to the work they do to ensure their trainees dont overexert themselves and dont risk corruption, they often take on the corruption of their members </3 theyre strong enough to do that, so initially, no one bats an eye when their corruption starts to grow

As I am writing this, I have no idea what to call this post. I’m not really posting it for anyone, really, either. Just for me.  I wanted to be a writer when I was younger. Think up cool stories, write them down, and share my imagination with people. Not to sound completely cynical, but my imagination has since then taken a hike, and failed to come back. “ I have numerous half-started diaries, notebooks, anything that could be written on, where I would write down ideas for stories. But I’d never really finish any idea or concept. I would always stop, because I would delve too much into the details of the world I wanted to build, and not the story.  Honestly, that’s how its been with most hobbies. And since then I’ve grown up into a self-centered/focused adult, who is just constantly reflecting on their own behavior instead of doing something. I’m a woman in my twenties living in Europe, with the education, means and potential to make a difference, but here I am: sitting at my wobbly ikea dinner table on a monday afternoon, nursing a tension head-ache of which I have no idea how I managed to create, just existing.
The irony of it all is that it is the thoughts that are constantly telling me to be productive that are keeping me from being productive.  Like with writing when I was a kid, I was too focused on the details of the world I needed to fill in, and not where I was trying to go. I wonder if its too late to change that? Am I too old to change my brain? Am I stuck in my ways?  And now I’m looking at the size of this text that I’ve written, and I realize that with my current concentration span, I would never in my life take the time to read this monstrocity. I can’t focus on the words for that long, and the large text feels intimidating. What to do next? I’m hoping writing stuff down like this will help.

Drew up some ideas for potential enemies in the Mad Rat Alive AU!
Madrat might have rid himself of Rat God, but it doesn't mean that he's out of the woods just yet! Two souls join the ring, each looking to hunt Madrat and Heart respectively.
Trigger Warning for gore and body horror!
Tumblr media
I figure since Heart's pretty much alive alongside Heart, the enemies would start to target him some more, hence why one's a gigantic monster dog.
As for the one-eyed cat monstrocity of my nightmares, I just think that a cat head with a spine for a tail floating around the screen is pretty fucking cool in a creepy way.

Miraculous Rewrite - Guitar Villain
Dude I friggin love any and all stories that are about artistic integrity in the face of the capitalist monstrocity.
So, we start out as we did with Jagged Stone rocking out to Penny and Bob Roth, and the near-shouting match between the two men while Penny watches in nervous fear, but rather than trusting Bob to go tell Marinette what he wants, he tells the man to bring her TO him, so he can tell her in person; they worked together more in-depth for the glasses this time around, after all, he’d be more personal in talking about the CD cover.
And though he is, in fact, more in-depth, telling her everything he wants and hopes for, and she bounces a few thoughts back at him (we’re cutting the monologue, we got time for two artists to talk shop - Aims), poor Mari is stopped in the hallway by Roth, who tells her what HE wants, as the producer, and as what will sell, practically threatening her in a small way to follow his instructions over Jagged Stone’s.
What follows next is Marinette listening to XY’s music, she and Tikki having their canon talk but after Marinette’s rebuttal, mocking Roth’s monologue about what Sells, Tikki asks if the great and fearless Ladybug is really gonna fold to one old fat man. Unlike in canon where she only does the XY-style cover, she flips to Jagged’s music at the end of the scene, and opens a new canvas. When she arrives at the hotel room, it’s with two designs, even if she waits until Roth is out of the room to secretly show the rock’n’roll singer the cover, and to tell him what happened in the hallway.
Not just about cowing her into what sells, but borderline threatening to ruin her reputation in any sort of design industry. Jagged is not pleased of course, and asks if Marinette wants to maybe help Penny give Fang a bath for a bit so he can have some words with his producer.
While the ladies wander off to get the bath set up, leaving Fang to give Bob Roth some fear in his bones, Jagged lets the man have it, asking why he would try to change his aesthetic, mess with his Genre, and on top of all of that threaten an innocent teenage girl with so much potential. This argument is cut short by the producer turning on the TV to show off XY’s interview, asking if a father needs a reason to help his son succeed.
Jagged is actually pretty nonplussed by XY’s monologue, rolling his eyes when he insults him and starts stealing his own one liners. After Bob flicks off the TV Jagged asks if he’s supposed to be intimidated by a child who openly admitted to being a talentless hack that relies entirely on technology.
Bob, needless to say, flips his shit and insists that if he doesn’t want to get his contract pulled out from under him and get half of his fortune taken into the record studio in the resulting lawsuit, he’ll concede to the changing tide. Jagged, Pissed and ready to counter, insists that he’d rather never play again than play with someone who has no respect for Music.
“Then Don’t even bother showing up!” Bob finally counters, storming off. Jagged looks to be fighting off a headache, and Leans against Fang before reaching behind him and pulling out a guitar unlike his performance Axe. An old beat up acoustic covered in duct tape and painted with swirls and spirals in chipped paint.
He strums a few chords and begins to hum out an acoustic edition of one of his normal shredders. Fang cuddling with him as Marinette and Penny look on from the bathroom, trading a worried look.
Then Fang abruptly stands, making Jagged startle and nearly drop Old Bessie. He asks Fang what’s wrong but before he can finish the sentence, the Akuma hits his guitar.
“If they don’t want you to be the hero of rock and roll anymore, why not be the Guitar Villain?”
Marinette thinking quickly, pushes herself and Penny back into the bathroom and closes the door as quietly as possible to avoid attention being drawn to them.
The two wait, ears pressed to the door, as they wait to make sure the danger’s passed, before they ever think of opening the door. Once the room’s clear, Marinette tells Penny to wait here, while she goes and checks on the situation, given she’s used to Paris’s craziness, and Penny’s not from around here. The agent is nervous to let a teenager run off, but unhappily relents.
Once out of the room, Marinette transforms, wasting no time in heading downstairs.
Meanwhile, Adrien is still invited by Chloe to meet Jagged personally, given he didn’t get much of a chance to talk to the man before. It’s a sweet gesture on principle, and with our Chloe being a, slowly but surely, nicer person, it’s something worth keeping. Also worth keeping is, when Guitar Villain arrives, Adrien picking up Chloe and putting her in the elevator. He gives her a wink and gets out a small “better return the favor” before the doors shut on the blonde girl.
Unlike in canon, Adrien waits until the Akuma’s out of the lobby, watching Ladybug swinging after him, to transform, making sure no one spots the MODEL BOY transforming.
Honestly the Guitar Villain Fight Sequences are pretty cool as is. While his design is only slightly changed by the guitar itself being a different model, the newly chrome acoustic guitar still plays like an electric, and it’s still time to slay a dragon.
The story more or less plays out as it does in canon from here, the heroes warning XY at the TV station, XY not taking their warnings seriously and is promptly kidnapped by Guitar Villain, and the race to the Eiffel Tower as GV prepares to sacrifice XY into a pit of his followers to be ceremoniously ripped to shreds like Orpheus thrown to Dionysus’ Maenads…..What? That’s totally what he was hoping would happen!
Honestly the entire fight scene in Guitar Villain is pretty solid, XY snivelling for his life, Ladybug taming Fang, the hair gel being used to defeat Guitar Villain and then using XY’s landing to break Old Bessie in half, Sometimes when all you have to change is the inciting incident there’s not as much that needs to be said. Excepting that the entire final fight is at dusk since it makes no sense for the fight to have been from midday all the way till evening.
Chat asks for an autograph, but after Jagged gives it he playfully asks where he was keeping that, to which Ladybug follows up with a dry expression. “Chat have you been stuffing random items in your Sub space pocket?”  to which Chat counters that he only recently started carrying this! After all after Pixelator he knew it was only a matter of time before he ran into Jagged Stone again!
The next scene comes a few hours later. Jagged still strumming on Old Bessie but looking far more content, he talks about how Marinette’s cover will look great for a last album on Roth Records. Marinette, whom is still drying off Fang with Penny asks if there’s anything he’d like to add to it as a final touches type of thing, and he says it looks just right to him. It’s his style, and it’s her style. Truly the genre of the future.
Bob Roth walks in then, still furious, but Penny intercepts him before Jagged can get pissed again and insists that She’ll be more than happy to go over the contract severance deals with him if he’s willing to let someone go for his nepotism. She’s sure that will be far more interesting in court than anything regarding petty arguments. Roth pauses for a moment, huffs and tries to go back on his words earlier, saying he was just playing hardball. To which Jagged himself speaks up, still strumming on Old Bessie and not even looking at Bob. Insisting that he’d be more than willing to pay for severance of contract himself if Roth ever tries to change his genre on him again. In this business you gotta hold your ground. He glances at Marinette and smirks at her. “It’s the first thing you learn when you’re in the public eye”
The flash forward of course paints that Jagged’s album immediately wrecked XY and brought Jagged back onto the #1 Spot, the ending scene going much the same where Adrien Asks Marinette for her autograph. Jokingly saying that when she becomes famous in the design world he wants to show off the autograph he got when she was working on graphic design on commission.
Marinette chuckles in that ‘I can't believe it my heart is gonna explode’ way and asks Alya if that actually just happened. Alya laughs and says that he wasn’t the only one. Gesturing to a shot of a small group of their classmates pushing forward a red-faced Nathaniel holding Jagged’s album close to himself. Marinette chuckles and Alya wonders aloud when she’s gonna start getting love notes stuffed into her locker.

Life on the Homestead (3/11/18)
Welcome Home, everyone! This is, unfortunately, a little later than normal. I apologize for posting on a Monday as opposed to a Sunday - sometimes leading worship makes the ol’ schedule a lil’ crazy.
Personal Life: After an unexpected Nor’easter this week, almost all of my meetings and events got cancelled! I’m sure that sounds boring to most people, but boy oh boy, was I excited to sit at home and...well, work. But writing work, not work work.
Kingdom Come: The end of my first outline is now in sight. We are 95% done, people! It may sound like I am moving at a snail’s pace, but this is a big ol’ project and I am taking my time to make this into the masterpiece it deserves to be. I fully fleshed out so many scenes and I may or may not have written, mmm, three different fight scenes? My goodness. I feel like I need to get up and punch something now.
The Homestead: Character Development Questions will continue throughout this week, along with new Worldbuilding Development Questions (a reboot of my former, too time-consuming project, “One Year, One World”) and my Endless Playlist of Inspirational Music!
Dungeons and Dragons: The upcoming podcast for the tabletop game, Monster of the Week, officially has a name! Our podcast, MonstroCity, will take place in the city of Fishtown, Pennsylvania. Our cast includes the local crime lord, the street evangelist, the overworked barista, and one potentially-crazy homeless man claiming to be a fallen angel teaming up together to fight off supernatural entities suddenly appearing in the modern world.
