probably one of my favorite things about how I got into cats was the fact that I chugged Coca Cola before hand and therefore needed to sneak out to use the restroom before intermission… only to come back in the middle of the Battle of the Pekes and the Pollicles, which, without context is positively baffling. My favorite thing about seeing Cats in Bozeman, MT was that they had Gus: The Theater Cat lead directly into The Battle of the Pekes and the Pollicles with Gus playing the Great Rumpus Cat. This change made so much more sense for how the Pekes and Pollicles story fits within the entire context of the show.

There is a moment in Cats Warsaw, during the pekes and pollicles, where after Rumpus Cat's entrance Mistoffelees and Cassandra get so spooked Old D is looking down at them concerned (they curl up on each side of a tin he's standing on), and Jelly pets/kneads Misto's back/shoulders

I have no fucking idea if the 2 of them actually got spooked or if they are just playing spooked dogs very convincingly

The second one may be more accurate, cuz besides Tumble (who is the Rumpus Cat), Munk, Jelly and Old D (who are not in the play), everyone is playing dogs and they do dog yelps there instead of hisses they would normally do

More joking answer is that they just really did not like the contemporary experimental dance thing Tumble was doing XD

HELLO I JUST GOT BACK FROM CATS OPENING NIGHT AND FUCK IT WAS SO GOOD THE NEW CAST IS FUCKING AMAZING as was everyone else returning of course :) just all around fucking amazing performance from everyone

Did a sketch for day three, of (one of) my favorite numbers! Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer! Honestly it was this or Pekes and Pollicles (but went with this so I could draw Drew Varley making that face)

I dunno if I drew Rumpleteazer all that good but I was running out of time to work on this so this was the best I could offer 🥲

Despite that, this was very fun to draw, and I hope I can draw some more for this! (I'll have to skip monday, but I hope I can wrangle something for Tuesday)
