Ok silly little people in my computer, "yes" won for a Rosabella Beast drabble poll so, I started writing... and it ended up way past 100 words.
Oops.
I hope it's enjoyable! I'm not totally satisfied with it, but I took my best shot! A little warning: The characters that appear will likely be OOC!
And also, a quick note: if you've stumbled upon this and have absolutely no clue who or what Rosabella Beast is, I suggest checking out my rosabella beast tag, or my hypothetical eah rewrite tag! If you do, however, be careful, as there are spoilers within those tags!
Tumblr media
Now on with the story!
Rosabella was all too familiar with the phrase don't judge a book by it's cover. It'd been implanted by her mother before she was conscious enough to understand what was being said to her. She'd made the mistake of not listening to that advice, and she'd paid dearly for it. Since then, Rosabella had held that as her mantra, swearing to never make such a foolish mistake again.
Now, as Blondie Lockes stood in her doorway, she couldn't help but wonder if she was going to just that. Rosabella hated to admit it, but Blondie was one of the few people she couldn't read. Even when peering over her glasses, the big haired girl's colors were constantly changing and melding together. That frustrated her to no end.
Her anxious and angry musings to herself were broken by Blondie giving her a smile, one that didn't quite meet her eyes. "Can I come in?", she asked, but it didn't really sounds like a request- more like a demand. Narrowing her eyes, Rosabella stepped aside, allowing her entry.
She slammed the door shut, turning to face the blonde as she surveyed the dorm. Taking a deep breath, Rosabella replied to Blondie's question with her own, being sure to lace it with extra sweetness. "How can I help you, Blondie?"
The other girl rolled her eyes and scoffed, waving a hand dismissively. "Oh, drop the act," she huffed, "you don't need to be a Beauty here when it's just the two of us."
Rosabella's train of thought crashed and burned into a fiery grave as she gawked at the amateur reporter. What, she wanted to roar, are you talking about? But instead, she clasped her hands behind her back and tilted her head slightly. "Whatever-after do you mean, Blondie?" she asked through gritted fangs.
Blondie smiled again, and this time, Rosabella felt a genuine twinge of... discomfort. The blonde seemed to staring her down like a predator with prey. Ironic, Rosabella mused, considering my heritage.
"I've been watching you," Blondie began, as if that wasn't the most creepiest thing someone could say to someone else. "and you may have everyone fooled, but not me. I see that look in your eyes, when you're talking to any of the Royals... or even some of the Rebels. Anger and disgust, like you know something about them that nobody else does. I was also about to figure out your own little secret, but I must admit, you're fairy good at hiding it."
Rosabella's stomach dropped. "Hiding what?" she all but snarled. The amateur reporter giggled behind her hand. "The fact that your destiny calls for you to be the Beast, of course!"
She couldn't take it anymore. Her self control snapped, and she lunged, feeling her human form give way to what had been carefully hidden away underneath. With powerful, clawed paws grasping her shoulders, Blondie was pinned against the farthest wall. Rosabella curled her lips back, showing off the fangs Blondie had remarked about. "What in Ever After do you want, Lockes?" Rosabella rumbled, tail lashing behind her, "Tell me, or you might have to put your stupid little podcast on an indefinite hiatus!" Her voice rose to a fever pitch, and she could feel the fabric of Blondie's sleeves begin to tear.
Impressively, Blondie remained physically unbothered, but her aura told a different story. A quick flash of fear- but before Rosabella could sink her teeth into that, the confidence quickly won out. "I don't need to be bribed," the blonde scoffed, lifting her chin, "I came to you with a proposition."
Rosabella arched her brow at that, and with great reluctance, released her and crossed her now-furry arms. "A proposition?" she grumbled, shoving the beast back in her cage and pulling the beauty from her prison. That was... a surprise. Rosabella hated surprises. "I'm listening," she growled, "but don't dawdle."
Blondie observed the transformation with a hum, the corners of her lips curling upwards. At Rosabella's demand, the blonde rolled her eyes. "Yes," she huffed, brushing a loose curl behind her shoulder, "I have a feeling that you and I both have very similar desires. I'm always searching for the next scoop of truth, and while you don't always show it, you're quite the... humanitarian.
I think we'd make quite the good team, you and I. Nobody can bear being five feet in my vicinity, but with you? You just be the Beauty, and everyone's spilling their guts to you. Am I wrong?" Rosabella cursed to herself. Blondie was like a nagging gnat in everyone's ear, but she could be quite observant if someone didn't know she was around, or let their guard down.
"...Not exactly, no." The brunette grumbled, eyeing her over the lenses of her glasses. Blondie's mouth split into another unnerving grin, and she clapped her hands. "That brings me to my proposition: you and I could work together. We could reveal everyone's dirty secrets, you know? Dust off all the skeletons stored away in those musty closets and display them for the world to see. Not for entertainment, no- for justice. I'm sure some people have some skeletons stored away that they would kill to keep hidden just because of how sensitive those secrets could be! And that's just not right, is it?"
Rosabella pursed her lips in thought. Blondie was crass about it, but... she had a little bit of a point. She could see some particularly nasty auras in passing conversations sometimes, camouflaging particularly nasty nuggets of information. It would be gratifying to see those sinister and secretive students get their just deserts.
"What's in it for you, though?" Rosabella hummed. The amateur reporter flipped a strand of hair again. "I'm a reporter- or a journalist, whatever after you want to call me. It's my narrative given duty to gather details and deliver these to the public in a fair and unbiased perspective!" She said this with a dramatic flare, waving her hands about. "Also, I like seeing people squirm. So, what do you say?"
Rosabella stood as still as one of the statues in her mother's garden, thinking. Don't judge a book by it's cover. She squinted, looking down through her glasses. Once again, she was met with a murky, swirling mess of colors. Working her jaw, she pushed them back up. "Okay," she rasped, stepping closer to the other girl again. "let's do it." She held out a hand, and Blondie firmly grasped it. Quickly, Rosabella pulled her close. "But I swear to Grimm," she sneered, "if you even try to stab me in the back in any way, shape, or form, you'll regret even knowing my name. Understood?"
Blondie's grip tightened, and she nodded. Huffing, Rosabella pulled away, releasing her hand. "So," she asked with an arched brow, "do you have any actual idea on how exactly we'll work together?" Blondie's eyes gleamed, and she pulled out her Mirrorpad from her messenger bag.
"Oh, I do." She tapped at the screen a few times before handing it over to the brunette, and as Rosabella scanned over what she'd been given, she realized that she had indeed made the same mistake as she had years ago, but this time, under completely different circumstances.
But maybe, just maybe, she wouldn't regret this.

Ooo how’s feathertail changed in ur rewrite?
Hehehe I’m so glad someone asked this!!! Feathertail as a character is one of the biggest changes in my rewrite and definitely one of my favorites.
Ive changed her character a lot to match more with what she has in A Shadow in RiverClan. On the outside, she’s a very sweet and kind molly as she is in the books, but on the inside, she harbors a lot of distrust for other cats and clans because of her childhood. She really struggles with making deeper connections with cats, and her father Graystripe sees this in her and really wants her to loosen up. But she’s firm in her ways, and her history just makes her rather nervous beyond her superficially friendly exterior.
She also is very shaken by the concept of the prophecy cats; all she wants is a safe life in RiverClan and her dreams don’t extend much beyond being well fed. She wants nothing to do with destiny or prophecies. She actually wasn’t even chosen as the prophecy cat, she simply accompanied her brother because she feels he can be naive and wanted to protect him.
ALSO! She does not have a romantic relationship with Crowpaw...their bond is more so an older sister little brother type thing, especially taking into account that Crowpaw has two siblings who passed when they were kits, so he definitely connects in a found family way with her and Stormfur. She learns to let down her guard and trust the other Clans through this as well.
Feathertail is, yet again, not chosen as the prophecy cat to stop Sharptooth; in this rewrite it is very clearly meant to be Stormfur. The Tribe (or the Gale as they’re called in this rewrite) are completely rewritten as well but we’ll get into that another time...basically, Stormfur has been preparing for his predetermined death by StarClan after learning that he’s been chosen to defeat Sharptooth. However, he happens to be out on a hunting trip when Sharptooth strikes, and Feathertail takes destiny into her own paws, deciding that they shouldn’t care what StarClan thinks and that they can’t wait around for Stormfur to come save them. She and a Gale cat sacrifice their lives to save everyone.
There’s a lot more nuance to her character and what her death means for the story going forward but I won’t get into that here, for spoilers sake and also just not to make this drag any longer than it does. Feathertail is a character I’m super passionate about so I’m just so stoked to talk about her here.

Now you watched and deeply disliked season 2 of Paws of Destiny I am curious what you would do of its characters in a modern au XD
Not an easy one! I honestly haven't given it much thought but what I do have:
Instead of being a empire, Xiao is heiress to a big business conglomerate. She's your typical rich girl influencer, until her father suddenly dies and she has a lot of responsibility tossed onto her. However, in my rewriting of her character, she actually grieves for her father seriously, (not 'waaaaaah I'm sad but oh suddenly I'm fine because HUMOR' like they did in the show), and is reasonably very very stressed and trying to handle her new responsibilities. She wants desperately to ensure that what her parents built stays afloat- mainly and most importantly the charities they have been funding and organizing for years, while still maintaining her socials. She cares very deeply about leaving a positive mark on the world the same way her father did, and caring for the people that depend upon her and the charity- but at the same time struggles with being only 15 and suddenly having to worry about so much. It's so fortunate for her, then, that her father's secretary Shi Long is there to help...or so it seems.
For Shi Long, obviously, most of her story stays pretty much the same- save instead of a demon, it's an AI developed from the consciousness of a deceased CEO- a CEO who once owned a programming/tech company that got bought out and shut down by Shi Long's adopted parents for its "unethical" experiments. The AI calls itself "YTB1", and after Shi Long found it buried deep in the old systems computers abandoned by the company (she had plenty of free time to engage in a computer restoration hobby, after her adopted parents started neglecting her after Xiao's birth), she befriended it, unaware that only has its own interests in mind.
Also in this AU Shi Long didn't commit all of the atrocities she did in the series (like killing an entire village to make a point), but in the end she is still sent to prison (actual prison, not being in a cage in the throne room for Xiao to gloat and joke about it for the rest of her life) for what she did do. Also she didn't send assassins after Xiao, but instead tried to frame her for fraud and laundering money from the charity, and she actually did believe the AI was her friend, and just wanted the power, wealth, and, most importantly: love that was snatched away from her the minute Xiao was born. I think she comes to her senses a little earlier, too, just before the AI betrays her- when Xiao discovers the true nature of Shi Long's relationship with her father, and actually reaches out to her compassionately, and Shi Long realizes that she may have been wrong to blame Xiao for the choice her parents made, just because she was born. After the AI is defeated, I think Shi Long would apologize to Xiao and then turn herself in for her crimes; but Xiao often visits her in prison, where the two try to bond as sisters.
As for Sun Wukong and some others?- I haven't thought of that yet. Honestly I didn't think much of any of it this is just a vague outline I have so far. I hope I answered this ask well enough, though!

The Legend of Hana Chapter 121
Warnings: We’re in Re:Mind now. And y’all can just tell it’s more angst with the slightest bit of fluff
Rating: SFW
Tumblr media
“This is...” As far as Sora could tell, this was only his second time to this place, this world of sky and sea. But unlike the last time he was here, Sora was whole and no different than normal. Then, two speck of light drifted down from the sky, calling out a cute and very familiar voice. “Chirithy, Monomi.”
“Back so soon?” Chirithy asked.
“What’s wrong?” Monomi asked.
“Well...” Sora explained everything that happened up to that point, and about how he wanted to find Kairi. For Rumi and Ventus. A troubled look came over Chirithy’s and Monomi’s faces
“Even with the power of waking, you can't just bring someone back,” Chirithy said.
“But how was I able to save Hana then?” Sora asked.
“Through the bond the two of you have. With Kairi, it’s just doesn’t seem possible,” Monomi explained.
“But Kairi's heart hasn't been lost yet. She's still with us, right? Like Hana?” Sora asked desperately.
“Maybe, but this time, I'm afraid the situation is a lot worse,” Chirithy said, its paws holding its head. Sora had seen Kairi’s physical body shattered with his own eyes--but that didn’t mean her heart was done for, too.
“Hey, I've already restored six hearts. What's one more?” Sora said.
“But that's not how it's supposed to work at all. The power of waking is meant to be used to wake and restore sleeping hearts, not to restore them after they've completely faded away from existence. You've done that six times before, and as a result, you've managed to greatly alter the course of history itself,” Monomi warned. “You've broken a nature taboo.”
“Taboo...?” Sora repeated the unfamiliar term.
“A forbidden act. Break a taboo of nature, and you'll end up paying an extraordinary price,” Chirithy explained.
You’ve paid the price. And it lies at the bottom of the abyss
Junko had said something similar in San Fransokyo, back when Sora was tracking down everyone’s hearts. It was like an omen.
“I've heard that before... So what's the price?” Sora asked.
“You'll lose your powers. You won't be able to use the power of waking,” Monomi warned.
“That's all? No problem,” Sora smiled. Chirithy and Monomi still had a grave look on their faces.
“But that's not all. You yourself...will vanish from this world. And without your powers, you can't return to the world you came from,” Chirithy said. That gave Sora pause. But he soon fixed Chirithy and Monomi with a determined gaze.
“I don't care,” he said.
“What?!” the two creatures squeaked in shock.
“There's a lot I don't understand, but I know that this is all I can do right now. I have to do everything I can to get Kairi back. That's the whole reason behind my journey. Besides, I haven’t seen Hana since she was stabbed. She needs me.”
“...We can't stop you, can we?” Monomi asked.
“Nope, I have to follow my heart,” Sora said back with a grin.
“Hmm... Well, then this really is good-bye, so listen carefully to us,” Chirithy said.
                                                          ☽✧☽✧
Sora indicated he understood, then allowed his Keyblade to open the way forward. As he traversed the roads of time, Sora thought back on what Chirithy and Monomi had told him.
Italics bold = Monomi. Italics = Chirithy. Italics blockquote = both
You'll return to the past again, but you won't be able to rewrite it this time. No matter what happens, you have to accept it and move on.
Sora found himself standing in the Keyblade Graveyard back when all of them had just arrived, right before Ventus spotted Terra. Chirithy’s and Monomi’s advice continued to run through his mind.
The heart you have now, it already existed during that time. It went back into that past earlier. Nothing can change that fact. The place where you'll return is the tear in the fabric of time that was created when you changed your destiny, then changed it once again.
In order to not stray too far from the true power of waking, you'll enter and pass through the hearts of the guardians, until you reach Kairi's heart.
Terra arrived, and Ven, Lily, and Era ran over to him.
Every emotion that each of the guardians felt... sadness, anxiety, fear, kindness. Everything they saw, and everything that they felt then, you'll clear a way through it, traverse across their hearts, and dive ever deeper inside.
Then Aqua, who had been wary of Terra from the moment of their reunion, took Ventus, Lily, and Era and hid them behind her. This was another scene from the past Sora had witnessed firsthand.
We can't be sure what's waiting for you at the end, or what you'll actually be able to do, but by following the connection of hearts, you'll come to discover a greater truth--one that's sure to help you.
Terra’s hair turned silver, revealing that he was Terranort all along.
But...in this flow of time in the past, you'll only have up until the moment you left for this place, so you'll have to find and restore Kairi's heart before then. That's all the advice we can give you. Beyond that, we can only say...
...may your heart...be your guiding key.
Up until that moment, Sora had been inside his past self, but when Terranort struck Ventus and stabbed Hana with his Keyblade, he made his exit. And as he did so, he noticed a small glimmer near his chest.
“This...is Ven's heart...” he said. When Ventus lost consciousness, his heart had come here. Sora tried to speak to the light, and he found himself in a dark, dark place. A place that greatly resembled the one he had dreamed of before his journey began, in fact. He tried calling out to Ventus, but had no luck. When Sora came to...he was standing alone on the wastes of the Keyblade Graveyard. None of his friends were there for some reason. The darkness that had taken over him was gone, too--but not for long. This time, it flowed into a vortex that gradually transformed into a Heartless with swords in each hand--Dark Inferno χ. Sora blocked its first attack and shoved the swords away, then delivered a blow of his own with his Keyblade. While Dark Inferno χ put up a tough fight, Sora was still able to defeat the monster. It left this world just like a normal Heartless would--in a flash of light.
“That's it!”
“Axel!”
“No! Sora!”
“Donald, don't!”
“Zettaflare!”
“Ven...” The last voice Sora heard clearly--it belonged to Aqua. Suddenly, Sora was back where it all began, in that dark place inside the heart.
“Is this...Aqua's heart?” Sora asked as he looked around. While Ventus’s heart had been peaceful, Aqua’s...was full of fear. Still inside Aqua’s heart, Sora found himself back on the wasteland. “This can't be real.”
“Pull it together, Sora! We haven't lost them. They still have their hearts. Hana will pull through. But we have to protect everyone else first,” Riku said as more Heartless appeared. This was another scene from the past.
“It can't be... No...” Aqua whispered as she looked up at the Demon Tower. The terror within her poured into Sora, and through the eyes of her heart, Sora could see an army of Anti-Aquas flying through air.
“So...this is the fear and despair that Aqua feels...And now...I feel it too,” he said. The Demon Tide swept over both of them, and then...Sora and Aqua stood on the Dark Margin. The Anti-Aqua with eyes of glowing gold lunged for him. Sora caught the terrifying Anti-Aqua’s attack with his Keyblade, then fought back with spells and strikes on his own. Before long, Anti-Aqua lay defeated, and the light overtook him and the real Aqua again. Once more, Ventus, Lily, and Era spotted Terra--or the one they believed was Terra. But when Sora opened his eyes, all he saw was that same dark space. Sora was still wondering what was going on when a light drew near, gentle and peaceful. He soon saw that it was actually a girl.
“Sora?!”
“Naminé?!” Yes--it was Naminé. Roxy’s first love.
“What are you doing here? Have you lost yourself, like I did?” she asked, hovering in Sora’s heart.
“Well, it's a long story. But tell me, why haven't you returned to Kairi's heart yet?” Sora heard Terranort’s declaration from somewhere outside this dark place and knew what was about to happen. The pale light of this realm illuminated both of them as he spoke to Naminé.
“Because...I'm still not able to. But...I'm calling out to Terra's heart, and I brought him here,” Naminé said.
“Terra?”
“No, Terra's heart...is too steeped in darkness. Instead, I've brought out Terra's most personal and powerful thoughts. This is Terra's sadness, anger, lament...”
“Terra's thoughts...?”
                                                         ☽✧☽✧
Beyond the dark place, the Lingering Will had made its entrance on the field of the Keyblade Graveyard. It was the manifestation of those powerful thoughts of Terra’s, and Naminé had led it here. The Lingering Will stopped in his tracks.
“Wretched spirit!” Terranort spat. The Lingering Will responded by holding out his Keyblade.
“As long as Master Xehanort resides within you, you're a threat to Aqua, Lily, Era, and Ven,” he said.
“How noble, you would give your life for theirs?” Terranort sneered. The Lingering Will then charged. Terranort did the same and the two came together with a vicious clash.
                                                          ☽✧☽✧
As Sora stood beneath the pale light with Naminé, he could hardly stand to just watch.
“Naminé, can you call out to Terra?” Sora asked.
“No, his rage is too strong. He won't respond to me,” she answered, unable to conceal her own anxiety.
“No matter who gets hurt, it's bad for Terra. Either way, you have to leave. Go to the world of ocean and sky.”
“And you?” Sora turned back to Naminé and flashed a grin.
“I got this,” he said.
                                                         ☽✧☽✧
“Begone!” Terranort shouted. In the same instant, the Dark figure rose up behind him and seized the Lingering Will by the head, trying to crush its helmet. That was when Sora returned to the world in a blinding burst of light--and just in time, by the look of it. Sora charged in at lightning speed and knocked the Dark Figure away with enough force to scatter it into mist.
“How can you be here?!” Terranort exclaimed as he regained his balance.
“Hey, I can travel to different times too, you know. Did you think you were the only one with that power?” Sora smiled.
“You dare...!” The flippant explanation had Terranort trembling with rage. He hurled himself at Sora with ferocious speed. Though he wore Terra’s body, his moves and skill with a Keyblade were all Xehanort. His Keyblade met Sora’s with terrible momentum, enough to drive Sora to one knee. While Terranort had his attention, the Dark Figure suddenly rose behind him, taking in to deliver what would most certainly be a fatal blow. But then, he was shielded from the attack. The fatal blow meant for Sora shattered the Lingering Will’s helmet, and the rest of the armor fell to pieces that vanished in a brilliant burst of light.
“Terra!” Sora cried.
“Seeing that you have also taken the forbidden path, you too must be ready to make the ultimate sacrifice,” Terranort said with an arrogant smirk, then swung his Keyblade toward Sora creating a dark wave. Sora withstood the attack, and when it dispersed, there was Terranort right in front of him. With a laugh, Terranort struck Sora with his Keyblade and sent him flying back. But as soon as he landed, Sora quickly jumped back up and got right back into the fray. Sora was about to land an attack of his own when the Dark Figure intervened. Sora fired off a spell, taking the Dark Figure out of the picture and allowing him to focus on Terranort. The battle didn’t last much longer. Terranort staggered back, exhausted for the moment--but not entirely. He let out a roar, calling the Dark Figure forth again to attack Sora.
“Darkness awaits you!” he shouted with rage as the Dark Figure grabbed Sora and lifted him off the ground. Sora could see the darkness billowing upward from the enemy’s body.
                                                          ☽✧☽✧
Sora was slowly sinking down into water that was terrifying dark. Sora looked in the direction he was sinking and saw that there was light below.
                                                          ☽✧☽✧
Sora slipped into his own heart and went back to Terra, Aqua, and Ventus. He watched as the three of them plus Lily were united once more, then he and Lily went off to meet Kairi, Axel, Luna, Era, Xeha, Baby, Xemnas and his daughters. They were facing Junko, Saïx, and one other person--a girl he didn’t recognize.
“It's all right... Xion.” Sora already knew the name he was going to say there, but he wasn’t the one who said it. That was someone else inside of him--Roxas. There inside his heart, Sora encountered Roxas’s heart. The light it gave off fluttered away like birds, flying free to go wherever they wanted. He was surrounded by Roxas, Axel, and Xion’s most treasured memories. Roxas’s voice had made everyone remember again. Sora tried to open a Keyhole, but for some reason, it wouldn’t appear.
“Why...?” he asked.
“Sora...” That was Roxas’s voice.
“I need your help...There’s...something me and my friends have to reclaim, something that connected our hearts. That’s what’s binding me to this world...the last key. I need your help to get it back.”
“Got it. I have an idea. Wait for my signal,” Sora answered in a firm voice, then set Roxas’s heart free with his Keyblade. This time, it worked. Sora was returned to his past self, and Roxas had made the journey back with him. Then came the moment Sora had been waiting throughout the entire fight. He swung his Keyblade at Junko, who parried the attempt and swatted him to one side. That was Roxas and Xion’s signal to leap into action. Saïx tried to intercept them, but Axel, Luna, Era, Baby, Xeha, Xemnas, and the twins stepped in to keep him occupied. Lily hammered Junko with her Keyblade, and then Luna did the same with her magic. They spun around to one side to continue the offensive, but that gave Junko a moment to get her mallet up and knock them away. And then Kairi came down from above with her Keyblade raised to strike, along with Era, Baby, and Xeha. Junko was able to avoid their blistering series of attacks with a backstep. Brambles of dark energy emanated from her hands and bound Kairi, Xeha, Era, and Baby in place, and when Sora, Luna, and Lily tried to help them, they were entangled, too.
“These useless pawns...must be cleared...from the board!” she shouted, her eyes on Axel, Roxas, Xion, Luna, Lily, Xemnas, the twins, Era, Xeha, and Baby. Saïx rushed at Roxas and the others. Sora hung unconscious in his bonds, but a small orb of light left his body, carrying his heart to Roxas.
“Axel, Roxas, Xion. I have something that belongs to you. I need you three to strike me,” Xemnas said.
“What?!” Yui exclaimed.
“Dad, are you fucking crazy?!” Roxy added.
“I need you to trust me, girls. I know what I’m doing,” Xemnas responded. They had no choice but to trust Xemnas’s word. On his signal, Axel, Roxas, and Xion hit Xemnas in the chest. Xemnas clutched his chest in pain, as something that resembled the letter X emerged from within him. The symbol split into three, with a piece each flying to Roxas, Axel, and Xion.
“Is this...is this the sigil?” Xion asked as she watched the X-shaped light go into her chest.
“Yes. It is the mark I gave you. It’s what connected us from the start. It’s the...foundation...of the bond of our kingdom,” Xemnas explained. It was a sigil shared by all of them of the Kingdom That Never Was.
“This... This is the connection we needed,” Xion said as she looked at the sigil fondly.
“That's why I needed Sora's help. So that we could end this battle... once and for all! And restore Xemnas’s kingdom!” Roxas said, as Sora and the other’s bonds fell away along with the barrier around the battlefield. Sora’s heart left Roxas and returned to his own body. But only a moment later, Kairi was taken away by Junko once again. Then Saïx fell, and Sora returned to somewhere even deeper within his heart.
                                                          ☽✧☽✧
The battle wasn’t over yet; as before, Sora faced Nagito and Junko atop the platform that lay beyond the maze. But Kairi’s body was shattered just as it had the first time. Again, Xehanort froze time with a spell, and Kingdom Hearts appeared in the sky.
“...Sora,” a voice called out to him.
“You're Majesty...?”
“It's me. I'm glad my voice is reaching you.” Mickey was speaking to him somehow.
“Your Majesty! Kairi's...”
“I know, but we can still save her.” All the heroes gathered around to discuss the dire situation, while Sora continued to listen to Mickey speak deep inside his own heart.
“What's happening?” he asked the king.
“Master Xehanort's got a lot of tricks up his sleeve. Kairi's one of the seven hearts, which is why he crystallized her--so he can use her as insurance until Kingdom Hearts is opened. She's his last resort,” Mickey explained. He and Riku explained as they had in the past, telling him about Xehanort being a portal. That was when Xion told Rumi something very important. But that still didn’t tell her nor Sora how exactly to get Kairi back. Then Sora realized something. He had jumped through Xehanort’s portal back then. If he was going to find Kairi anywhere, it was probably in there. Sora launched himself into the portal even faster than his past self. He knew what lay ahead of him. It was that city--Scala ad Caelum.
                                                          ☽✧☽✧
Sora arrived just where he thought he would, only before his past self and the others. He headed into the city streets, and before long, he spotted Kairi. When he chased after her, he came upon a pack of Monokumas and Heartless, one of which was glowing with an inner light. He made sure to catch it. A brilliant crystal rose from the Heartless once he defeated it and flew into Sora’s heart.
“I can feel Kairi's heart...” he said. Now that he had a piece of her with him, Sora proceeded farther into the city in search of more images of Kairi. All kinds of puzzles and Heartless awaited him among its avenues, but one by one he found the shards of Kairi’s heart. Most of them, anyway.
“That's five... How many more?” Sora asked himself.
“There are two more,” a voice answered. Sora spun around and found Xehanort standing there.
“Why are you here...?!” Sora called his Keyblade to his hand, but Xehanort merely smiled.
“I am the one who hid the fragments of Kairi that you seek. Of course I am here. No matter--did you come alone?” the old man said.
“Yeah.” Xehanort chuckled.
“Are you prepared to pay the ultimate price?” he asked.
“Enough! It's only two...I'm saving Kairi!” Sora yelled in frustration.
“Unfortunately, you're a little too late,” Xehanort said as he looked out over the city.
“Oh, no...”
“It appears you have failed to retrieve Kairi in the time to come. So here you are, once again, in times already past. However, now that the other ‘you’ has arrived, you're doomed to repeat the same fate.” Xehanort laughed at the worry on Sora’s face. “You are nearly out of time.”
Sora watched his other self approach the city. His only option here was to merge with his past version again and fight. And merge with himself he did, holding his Keyblade. He was facing twelve Xehanorts--or rather Replica Xehanorts. After the battle with the Replicas, Sora returned to the depths of his heart.
                                                          ☽✧☽✧
Back in the Keyblade Graveyard, the remaining guardians held their weapons up at Kingdom Hearts, firing lights into it.
“Everybody, be strong!” Mickey called out to the others, who all acknowledged him a bit anxiously.
“So...if we can't stop him, what happens?” Axel asked.
“I don't know... But...there's no question in my mind that that's the true Kingdom Hearts. I can't...imagine what'll happen if he succeeds,” Aqua said.
“I can. If he is able to control Hana’s powers...we’re all done for,” Yui said.
“f we hold it back, it might vanish,” Ventus said.
“No,” Terra corrected. “Only the Chi-blade has the power to stop it.”
“But...” Ventus said dejectedly. However, Riku remained calm.
“We all need to trust Sora and the others,” he said.
“That's right!” Mickey agreed with a smile.
“Look!” Rumi said loudly, directing everyone’s attention toward the darkening Kingdom Hearts. They all dismissed their weapons for the time being, deciding to wait and see how this change played out.
“Is anyone else seeing this or is it just me?” Roxy asked.
“I see it too,” Mukuro responded. They all saw twelve Xehanorts--the Replica Xehanorts-- came streaking out of Kingdom Hearts like black comets.
“Get ready!” Yui warned, but suddenly a dark tornado swept them all up into the air. Rumi tried to use her Guardian to try and stop it but it was too strong. Kingdom Hearts was pitch-black now, and the sky around it filled with Keyholes.
“Whoa whoa, this is some serious trouble,” Axel said as he finally managed to right himself. Nearby, Xion was almost carried away on the wind into one of the Keyholes until Roxas caught her hand.
“Xion!” he cried out.
“Thanks, Roxas!” The twelve Replica Xehanorts had the guardians surrounded in midair.
“We're trapped!” Mukuro cried.
“Let’s take these fuckers down!” Roxy called out to the others.
“Trust our bond!” Aqua added encouragingly.
“Riku, are you ready?” Riku asked.
“Yeah...we can do this! Let's go!” Riku answered, and then the battle was underway. Guardian and Replica swooped through the sky in a chaotic melee, constantly switching opponents. Even the guardians who had only just met fought with the teamwork of old friends. As Riku and Yui bore down on several of the Replica Xehanorts, blocking their combined attack with his Keyblade and her pistoleer, their friends were in their hearts. Together, they turned the tables on their foes. A sixth fragment of Kairi fell into Sora’s palm. But eventually the Replicas managed to send each of the guardians into one of the Keyholes in the sky, until Mickey and Riku remained in the end.
“Yui!” Riku cried out as he tried to reach for her, but it was no use. He then flew over to Mickey’s side and pushed him out of the way, and Sora moved from Riku’s heart to Mickey’s just as Riku was dragged into the Keyhole. Now all alone, Mickey collapsed. He wasn’t ready to give up just yet, though. Mustering the last bit of fight left in him, Mickey got up again. He was one with the light, and with Sora.
“No...I can't give up!” he said. He took up his Keyblade and stumbled toward the Keyhole. The Replica Xehanorts didn’t make it easy for him, but he blocked and rebuffed their attacks as he pushed his way forward. One step at a time. All the Replica Xehanorts joined together to create a laser attack. “No matter how far... The light will connect our hearts!”
Mickey bore the blunt of the onslaught on his Keyblade. Sora popped out of Mickey from behind and helped him hold off the beams, and then threw them back on the Replicas.
“We are--all of us--Together!” Sora and Mickey said in unison. With the Replica Xehanorts vanquished, the king was at last able to fire light into the Keyhole. As he began to fall from the sky, utterly drained of strength, Sora reached out and lent him a hand.
“Sora... What are you doing here...? Is it...really you?” Mickey asked.
“I traced the connection--from me to Riku, then Riku to you,” Sora said. The last fragment of Kairi floated free from Mickey, and Sora claimed it. “That's seven--all the lights I needed, including yours. I'll handle the rest.”
And with that, Sora flew into the Keyhole.
                                                          ☽✧☽✧
Sora floated in a night sky filled with hundreds--with thousands of Keyholes.
“Where am I...?” he asked. A brilliant streak of light raced by Sora as he tried to get his bearings. It arrived at a Keyhole, then abruptly shifted directions and headed for a different one. The thread of light repeated this process again and again, binding several of the Keyholes to one another. “That light... It's the King's light!”
The light was streaking toward Sora, and when it collided with him, it pulsed brightly for a second before fading away. Sora noticed that there was now a Keyblade in his hand. He took the Keyblade in both hands and released a particularly powerful stream of light that passed from Keyhole to Keyhole, tracing out constellations across the whole sky. At last, Sora’s light passed through the Keyholes the guardians had fallen through and connected with them on the other side. The guardians regained consciousness, summoned their weapons in hand, and released their own light. The seven fragments of Kairi, shaped like pink flower petals, appeared before Sora’s chest, and the light from the guardians converged upon them, swelling brighter and brighter as the crystal fragments merged to form a single flower. The crystal flower flowed up into the heavens, causing one last larger Keyhole to take shape. Once more, Sora released light from his Keyblade to unlock it. There was a flash, and then someone slowly drifted free.
“Kairi!”
“Sora!” She flew toward him, her arms open wide. Sora reached out for her, too, and the two pulled each other into an embrace beneath the stars. They had barely been reunited when darkness began swirling into a storm above them. Sora was about to turn around when he felt a presence next to him. He looked over and found Hana’s imps floating up to him. He gave a nod and he and Kairi leveled their Keyblades at the black bolts of darkness. Sora could hear Hana’s voice guiding him in his mind.
“Call out one of their names and they will turn into a weapon that will help you,” he heard her say. The clouds converged and materialized as a new foe wearing a goatlike helmet, while a platform composed of arcane symbols took shape beneath their feet. Sora and Kairi moved forward to confront Xehanort, who had twelve identical Keyblades at his back and a thirteenth in his hand, covered in magic that looked like it belonged to a Spirit. Hana’s magic.
“Vanish!” the armored Xehanort roared as he shot down from the sky at the two heroes with his Keyblade. Columns of flame erupted from the ground like gouts of lava and chased them around the battlefield.
“Aki!” Sora called and Aki was able to protect them from the attack. Xehanort then summoned a giant Keyhole in the sky that belched forth blackness. Kingdom Hearts and the moon gleamed brightly above as huge meteors came hurtling down toward Sora and Kairi. The armored Xehanort roared with laughter.
“Kek!” Sora called out and Kek took the form of two arrowguns and Sora was able to shoot each meteor before it hit him and Kairi. Sora then took Kairi’s hand, and they rose into the sky together.
“Light!” Sora and Kairi shouted as one, and their wishes were manifested as great, glowing wings. Hands still clasped, they flew at Armor Xehanort. Kairi’s hand was warm and just a little sweaty. Sora looked into her eyes, and they both smiled. They let go of each other and raised their Keyblades overhead.
“Thana!” Sora called out and Thana took the form of Hana’s iconic scythe. As their Keyblades crossed, there was a brilliant pulse of light. Suddenly, multiple Keyholes opened in the sky, Each released a glowing orb that danced through the air and transformed into a person above Sora and Kairi. It was the guardians--Aqua, Terra, Ventus, Roxas, Xion, Axel, Yui, Roxy, Rumi, Mukuro, Era, and Riku. Even Luna, Lily, the Nort brothers, and Queen Aine were there too. Riku stepped away from the others as he spotted Mickey falling wreathed in light, and reached out to grab him. Hana’s imps then left Sora’s grasp and headed over to Luna and nuzzled against her. Finally, they were all together again. The assembled guardians touched down on the platform in the wasteland, and they all held their weapons aloft. The light each weapon produced came together to make a blinding beam that flew into Armor Xehanort.
“My friends...are my power!” The radiant flood swept over Armor Xehanort, leaving no trace of him behind. With the fight now won, Sora and Kairi disappeared in a burst of light.
                                                          ☽✧☽✧
Suddenly, Axel had a realization.
“Where are Sora and Kairi? They were here,” he said.
“They were, but as long as they're together, they'll be all right,” Riku told him with a smile as he looked into the sky. Kingdom Hearts was fading away overhead.
“Now, let's go follow Sora's heart!” Mickey said. A gorgeous circle of symbols like a kaleidoscope appeared in the air, with a giant Keyhole at the center. The guardians all transformed into orbs of light and flew inside.
                                                         ☽✧☽✧
Their hands linked together, Sora and Kairi landed in the realm of sky and sea.
“It's so pretty...” Kairi whispered as she looked at the shimmering horizon, where the two blues became one. Sora examined the palm of his free left hand. For a brief second, it looked transparent, just as it had when he first visited this world, but then it was back to normal. Sora closed his hand into a fist and turned to the girl next to him.
“Kairi. Come on. Everyone's waiting,” he said.
“Okay,” she agreed.
“Oh!” Sora then exclaimed and let go of Kairi’s hand.
“What’s wrong?”
“Well...My friends should be here, but...Heeey! Chirithy! Monomi!” Chirithy and Monomi appeared not form the sky this time, but right next to him.
“Woah!” Sora yelped. “Hey, why didn't you say something?”
“We were just trying to give you some privacy,” Chirithy retorted, miffed. Kairi examined the two creatures curiously.
“You’re Lady Mukuro’s Guardian, right?” she asked the pink and white bunny.
“That’s right! I’m Monomi.”
“I’m Kairi. If you’re her Guardian, then how come you’re here?”
“Well, I can’t leave my friend here by themselves.”
“Well, thankfully, we’re heading home. You should come with us,” Sora said.
“Whaaat...?” Chirithy hopped back and shouted.
“Oh please come home with us! You can stay with me and Mukuro!” Monomi said as she took Chirithy’s paws into hers.
“Take it from me, it's not enough to wait for someone you care about. It's true that hearts are connected wherever you are. If it's impossible to be together, then all you can do is wait. But, if it is possible to be together, then that's how it should be,” Sora said. Kairi looked over at Sora quietly as he explained.
“Sora...” Chirithy murmured.
“You know, this really is a beautiful place. But you'd enjoy it so much more with someone you care about. Before, when I was looking around with Kairi, I remembered how important it is...to share moments with friends.” Chirithy finally nodded, now on the verge of tears. Monomi extended a paw out to them.
“Let’s go!” she said.
                                                          ☽✧☽✧
Now back in Disney Castle, Mickey, Donald, Goofy, and Jiminy were welcomed home by Minnie and Daisy, and one very excited Pluto. Yen Sid arrived a short time later with Chip and Dale on each shoulder, and fireworks burst in the sky above the castle.
                                                          ☽✧☽✧
Next was the Land of Departure, restored to its former glory. Master Eraqus’s Keyblade, the Master’s Defender, had been plunged into the ground with a wreath of flowers hanging from it. Aqua, Terra, Ventus, Era, and Lily stood before it, each holding their Wayfinders. Chirithy observed from some ways away, slightly nervous. But when Ventus caught sight of them, Chirithy ran over and jumped into his outstretched arms. Aqua and Terra called him back over.
                                                          ☽✧☽✧
At the Ikusaba mansion, the triplets waited on the front steps with Nightmare and Chia as Rumi, Ansem, and Mukuro returned home. When they spotted each other, they rushed over and hugged them tight, now a happy family once again. In another part of Twilight Town, Axel and Roxas watched the sunset from the clocktower. Neither of them wore their black coats. Xion arrived and sat down beside them, and she was wearing new clothes, too. Soon after, Saïx showed up carrying four bars of ice cream. He handed one each to Roxas and Xion, then sat next to Axel. But then, the triplets joined the party and they had brought their own ice cream, too.
                                                          ☽✧☽✧
In the laboratory of Radiant Garden, Naminé was sleeping in a white chair while Ienzo looked on. Ansem the Wise and Vexen were busy working on something in front of a monitor. Sora and Kairi were nearby, too. Sora pressed his Keyblade to Kairi’s chest, and light flowed out of her. Finally, Naminé woke up, and Dilan and Aeleus led her out of the laboratory. There, waiting for her was Riku and Roxy. Once Roxy spotted Naminé, she raced over to her and crashed her lips onto hers, and the two shared a passionate kiss.
                                                          ☽✧☽✧
The last stop was The Kingdom That Never Was. King Xemnas had thrown a ball to welcome back the long lost queen of the Organization. Hana showed up and danced with Sora and her family, but gently due to her still healing wound. While everyone else was dancing and having fun, Sora pulled Hana out to the balcony and they shared a loving yet passionate kiss. Sora was saying something to Hana, and a tear slid down her cheek. And then, Sora was gone. Gone, as if he had melted away into the sunset.
Sora was no longer part of the world.

“Good morning, Nodoka,” Hinata’s lovely voice sang out as she opened the curtains to let in warm, yellow sunshine, “the birds are singing, flowers are blooming, it's a beautiful day-”
“To end the world as you know it.” Daruizen interrupted her, a wink in his voice.
“Oh, sod off, Daruizen.” Hinata scowled.
Nodoka groaned and rolled over in bed. She could feel Daruizen beside her but now she had all that sunlight in her face so that put a wrinkle in her ability to sleep or even pretend to. It was Saturday morning, all she wanted to do was to sleep in, and this was what she had been dealing with for the past six months but quite frankly, she wouldn’t have it any other way.
Six months ago, the world was meant to change. Either for better or for worse, the choice was in Nodoka’s hands but Nodoka very much did not want that power but she couldn’t take it back. This was her destiny, the very one that she had been born to fulfil but that sounded like a lot of responsibility. She was just a normal girl.
Or more accurate, she just wanted to be a normal girl.
Always had, always would. That was her dream. Normalcy, mundanity and domesticity, a never ending dull existence: that’s all she wanted. Having been robbed of most of her childhood and adolescence due to chronic illness, Nodoka was interested in having a happy and healthy young adulthood now that she was comparatively better. She still had flare ups and days with low spoons but she had come very far since her days, months, even years bedridden between the ages of eight and eighteen. Being the mediator between a literal angel and a literal devil was very much depriving her of that normalcy and mediocrity that she craved.
Instead, she got this. A literal arms race between good and evil and she was in the middle of it.
If she sided with Hinata and the choirs of angels that she represented as an emissary of Heaven, she could change the world and equalise it, end suffering and more. She would also erase her own presence and ascend with no guarantee that omnipotence would be gentle or she would ever see her beloved Hinata again. It also carried the risk that new forms of exploitation could be born in the wake of her changes, effectively resetting the universe to no avail or actual change of status quo.
Alternatively, she could side with Daruizen and the legions of devils that he was on the behalf of as a denizen of Hell. She could raze the Earth and scorch it with pollution, making it an unending cesspit of dog eat dog rules. She could laugh with the worst of them and relish in payback, she had been done so dirty by the illness which had plagued her growing up, why not spread a little bit more misery around? Er, well, quite simply because Nodoka was a good, nice girl so that option didn’t sound pleasant either.
Instead of picking between Heaven and Hell, Nodoka had picked her own choice, one she believed was of humanity and it was a decision that she had never regretted. Even if it meant thinking on the fly and coming up with all sorts of excuses as to why she hadn’t chosen either Hinata or Daruizen. All in all, Nodoka just had to make do - or, more accurately make tea.
“Let’s have breakfast first, before we start discussing the rewriting of reality. You can’t do that on an empty tummy, no way…” Nodoka mumbled as she reefed herself out of her sheets and pawed sleepily at her face.
   “Ooh, sounds yummy.” Hinata cooed.
“Whatever.” Daruizen murmured and he purposefully - and stylishly - rolled off the bed and onto the floor with a clunk which had him land face first.
Hinata attempted to help Daruizen off the floor but she was waved off and that annoyed her. She pouted, hands on her hips, ready to eviscerate the devil for his laziness as everything Daruizen did annoyed her. But before the mounting discord could escalate, Nodoka then herded them both to the kitchen of her apartment.
Or, well, really she should be thinking of it being all their apartment as despite their eccentricities, she did consider them her housemates. Even though their names could very much not go on the lease and they contributed nothing to rent. And honestly were more of a pain in the rear end than not and it was a rare day that Hinata did chores, let alone Daruizen but still, Nodoka didn’t mind. It even incentivised her to stay neutral in their whole Heaven versus Hell thing.
She made the three of this breakfast - eggs on toast, runny, sunny side up for herself and Hinata and burnt nasty for Daruizen - with sides of darjeeling tea. She put the television on and it was playing Saturday morning cartoons and a harmonious atmosphere began to bud at the dining table.
“Did you sleep well last night?” Hinata asked brightly.
“I did.” Daruizen piped up and he wore a smarmy face as Hinata glared him down.
“I wasn’t asking you.” Hinata huffed.
“I slept very well, thank you, Hinata. I had a very cute dream about that Animal Crossing game I like to play.” Nodoka replied. “Do you guys want to watch me play more of it on the TV again today?”
“I’m good. It's boring. I’d rather watch you play Doom.” Daruizen replied.
“No!” Hinata retorted. “Violence in video games is bad.”
“But it's a game where you murder demons…?” Daruizen poked his forked tongue out.
“Actually…. I’m not really in the mood to play video games anyway.” Nodoka sighed, her cutlery slumping in her hands as she tried to stop her life partners from bickering. “Actually, do you know what would be fun? Let’s make brownies today. We haven’t had brownies in ages.”
“Yum, I’d like that. Can I lick the bowl?” Daruizen asked.
   “Of course.” Nodoka replied.
“Don’t indulge him, he’ll get sick.” Hinata pointed out.
“Aww, you do care about me.” Daruizen cooed, his scorpion-like tail flicking through the gap in the dining table’s chair, he looked all too pleased to not have the angel’s ire. For once.
“Do not. I only care about you because Nodoka cares about you.” Hinata said and she held tightly onto her knife and fork, the biggest pout smeared across her face but it made her look utterly cherubic. Especially with her halo illuminating her chubby cheeks.
“Sounds like a plan though. Mm, brownies, should we put anything extra in them?” Nodoka asked. “Like nuts or strawberries? Caramel?”
“Strawberries.” Daruizen replied at the same time as Hinata.
“Caramel.” Hinata replied at the same time as Daruizen.
They gave each other a pointed glare from across the table but Nodoka just laughed. At first, it was irritating how they could be at each other’s throats at marvels of all shapes and sizes but now it was just endearing to her.
“I think choc-caramel-strawberry brownies sound delicious. I can’t wait. Let’s go grocery shopping right now.” Nodoka said.
“Should we do the dishes first?” Hinata asked.
“No, we should do them all in one haul later.” Nodoka replied and Daruizen looked all too happy at the delaying of the chore.
Nodoka giggled again and Hinata offered to the momentary tidy up whilst Nodoka could go get changed out of her pyjamas. Hinata collected the plates and crockery and Daruizen watched, slumped over the table, already hungry for his next snack was he was ever so much a bottomless pit of gluttony. And a few of the other deadly sins as well. Like lust when his eyes lit up when he saw Nodoka emerge from her bedroom again.
Not that Hinata could talk either, despite her vow of chastity. She thought Nodoka looked very pretty as well. She always thought Nodoka looked pretty but this morning, she looked especially pretty since she was in such a good mood. Nodoka blushed as she tucked a stray curl behind her ear.
“I just threw on some clothes, am I really that stare-worthy?” Nodoka modestly asked.
“Yup.” Daruizen point-blankly replied before Hinata could get a word in. “Now, let’s go.”
Hinata sighed and blushed, “There were more succinct ways to put that.”
“Don’t you mean tacit?” Daruizen asked.
“Whatever, let’s go.” Hinata stomped her foot, blushing, hating to be corrected by a lowly devil like Daruizen but he took his wins where he found them.
“I knew what you meant Hinata,” Nodoka assured her, “and we can’t forget a grocery bag, either.”
“I’ll get it.” Hinata offered whilst Daruizen rolled his eyes.
As far as Daruizen was concerned, excessive plastic bags were fantastic for the environment. Not so much to Nodoka and Hinata who sighed as he once again made his argument for why they shouldn’t have to bring that totally cute tote bag along with them on a quick grocery trip. The plastic bags at the shop were chump change and they had enough hands among them anyway to simply carry what they needed.
They toddled about in the elevator down from the apartment and through the streets. There was a good little convenience store not too far away that would have everything they would need and probably more. Better yet, the staff and locals in the area had gotten used to the trio trooping about as they were. Nodoka, nice and normal Nodoka, with the two cosplayers who took their characters way too seriously.
Most people, likely rightfully so, did not believe that Hinata was an angel nor that Daruizen was a devil. Except in demeanour. Hinata was beloved by little old ladies everywhere thanks to her tendency to help them cross the road safely and Daruizen was be-loathed by kindly old gentlemen who thought he needed a haircut and an attitude fix.
Of which, both Hinata and Daruizen were able to charm and sour many folks they encountered along the way by being their usual selves. Regardless, they and Nodoka all got to the grocery store just right but the short trip was becoming longer. From the moment they stepped into the air conditioned little unit, brimming with all sorts of goodies, not just easy to make brownie boxes.
Nodoka and Hinata grabbed all sorts of things off the shelf. Not just a tin or two of caramel and a box of strawberries, but other things as well that were on sale and sounded tasty or could be helpful. They were getting low on toothpaste and bin bags, it's fine. And all whilst carting around Daruizen.
   Yes, carting him around.
The moment he stepped into the grocery store with them, Daruizen decided his tail was simply too heavy to lug around so he put himself in a trolley for Hinata and Nodoka to both push. The staff were unfazed by these sorts of antics, it happened regularly when the local angel and devil were out and about on the town. So long as Nodoka paid for any damages or the like, Daruizen was free to be treated like the king he was at the bottom of the wire trolley.
Nodoka was quite tired by the time that she, Hinata, and Daruizen got to the check out but was all smiles despite the reddening to her cheeks. She paid for their groceries and paid for them cheerfully whilst Hinata packed the items away and Daruizen, complaining, got out of the trolley and put his perceived due effort towards putting it away. He gave it a nudge with his tail towards the bay it belonged to and decided that was good enough.
“Thanks again, bye.” Nodoka bade the cashier as she left, shaky as she held onto her grocery bag.
“Are you sure you don’t want me to look after it?” Hinata whispered in her ear as they began to make their way home.
“Nope, totally fine.” Nodoka chirped in reply.
Hinata didn’t say anything in reply to that, merely nodded to give the pretence that she did believe what Nodoka had told her but Hinata - and even Daruizen - could sense that no, things were not totally fine. Though, Nodoka was a lot stronger than they sometimes remembered. Not only had she survived childhood cancer, she was also meant to be the second-coming of Christ or the first-coming of the Antichrist, it was up to her.
Meaning Nodoka didn’t let go of her grocery bags or her strong facade until she was well and truly past the threshold of her apartment’s door. Nodoka dropped the tote bag on the ground, the items they had bought spilling out from it and she dropped soon after, too. She collapsed on the lounge, her bedroom simply too many steps away from it and started to pant and puff. Even curling up onto the lounge into a comfortable position to rest drained her of energy.
Hinata and Daruizen exchanged a look. Though they hated to, they put their differences aside, just for the moment, just for Nodoka. Hinata picked up the groceries whilst Daruizen checked in with Nodoka. That was the flow natural to them and even though Nodoka could hardly hear a thing in her apartment, her head felt underwater and so everything sounded so far away, she appreciated the armistice.
“Are you okay, Nodoka?” Daruizen asked but he hated to ask, he crouched in front of her and looked up at her with big, gleaming eyes that when he blinked, his eyelids closed sideways.
“I’ll be fine, I just need a nap… maybe some juice. I… I can feel my blood sugar dropping, you an’... an’ Hinata should make the brownies without me.” Nodoka murmured.
“Okay…” Daruizen replied and he bit his tongue before he could get in a remark about how Hinata would not be so nice to him and let him lick the bowl.
He sulked at the bottom of the lounge before skulking off to the kitchen. Hinata had finished putting colds in the fridge and the bin bag in the cupboard. She turned around and her wings twitched anxiously behind her.
“Is Nodoka okay?” she asked, worried.
“Yeah, she says she just needs something to drink… and prolly some peace and quiet because she wants to sleep.” Daruizen sheepishly replied. No frills, no spills. He scratched the back of his neck nervously. “But she also said that its fine for us to make the brownies without her, so she can have them when she wakes up.”
Hinata wwas scepitcal of Daruizen’s later claim but she got up on her tiptoes. She could just see Nodoka’s silhouette over the edge of the lounge. She was lying down, all but conked out. Hinata’s lips quibbled.
“Okay, I’ll bring her something to drink and you can get started on the brownies, something so easy, even you can’t screw up.” Hinata replied.
Daruizen nodded. He stepped aside and Hinata got the bottle of apple and black currant juice out of the fridge. Daruizen, meanwhile, took the carton of milk and a pair of eggs. They worked in tandem, tiptoeing as best they could, and turned off the lights.
Nodoka sighed contentedly. She sipped from the glass of juice that Hinata gave her and seeing her smile, Hinata was heartened that Nodoka was going to be all good after her spell. The smell of chocolaty, caramelly, strawberry brownies began to permeate, too, and Nodoka rested well against such a delicious fragrance.
Hinata got up, momentarily, just to make sure that Daruizen hadn’t under-mixed the batter nor put anything weird in it. She had a lick from her finger after scraping it against the bowl, putting the biggest, smuggest look on Daruizen’s face but Hinata’s hackles remained down. Fine. She could be just as gluttonous as the devil, just as Daruizen had shown that he could show compassion just as an angel could.
“It tastes good.” Hinata replied, giving her seal of approval and so, into the oven the brownies went once scooped into a greased pan.
With the brownies now in the oven and Nodoka’s glass of juice finished, Daruizen sat with Hinata on the floor of the lounge with Nodoka. They rested against one another, shoulder to shoulder, heads touching, not quite dozing and the peace between them was not to be mentioned later, they both promised, whilst Nodoka actually snoozed.
And Nodoka rested well knowing that later, when she would wake up, she was going to wake up to scrumptious brownies made by the two who loved her most - and the ones who may just love each other, too, just yet. Assuring Nodoka in her decision that the reality that she wanted to live in, was the one which mostly consisted of her apartment and its surroundings with Daruizen and Hinata by her side.

The Novel, Explained
hello! this is a blog i decided to make specifically for song of the sky, my novel. initially i was only posting about it on my main but it was getting kind of clogged and hard to follow so i figured this would be better. this is just to organize things mainly.
song of the sky is a novel adaptation of wolfgang amadeus mozart's opera the magic flute, his last opera, although it takes the story in a vastly different direction. after hearing stories of a mystical, advanced feline society in the heart of the city, a young bengal housecat- dissatisfied with his life- escapes to the underbelly of chicago to fulfill his destiny and find his purpose. when his trip goes awry, he ends up in the paws of the starblazer, the mysterious ruler of all city cats, and she tells him she and she alone knows of his ultimate fate. ready to prove himself, the bengal- renamed tamino- sets off on a quest to find his fate and defeat the starblazer's rival, the supposedly-malicious king sarastro iii. but on the way, tamino- and pamina, the starblazer's daughter- realize that the world around them is far more complex than they could ever imagine, and that both the starblazer and king sarastro have murkier intentions in mind...
word for the wise: song of the sky deals with several dark topics, although i would not say it is an incredibly dark piece of literature as a whole. while i won't go into these in detail on this blog, the novel does deal with themes of emotional abuse, animal/child death, parental abuse, manipulation, and suicide. additionally, it is based on a 1791 opera with glaring flaws (namely bigotry) and while it exists as a deconstruction of its inspiration, it is important to acknowledge that before continuing.
MAIN TAGS:
character tags (the main characters are #tamino, #pamina, #the starblazer, #king sarastro, #papageno, #monostatos, #the speaker, and #the forsaken molly)
#illustrations (my drawings of them)
#resource (stuff that goes over lore/character relations/plot content/other good to know stuff)
#aesthetics (pictures that just fit the general vibe of the story)
#funnies (silly nonsense posts)
#rewriting (anything to do with the original opera and adapting it into song of the sky)
#misc (anything that doesn't fit into the above)

My Other Fanfics in the Future
Well, I made announcements about my 2 Loonatics fanfics-related stories coming soon. So here are my other fanfics that I am making. But before I am going to show you my other fanfics, I like to share what most of them are like. Kervinverse related. If you checked my Tumblr header it's pretty obvious.
As you may wonder what is the Kervinverse is all about? The Kervinverse is like the multiverse but with all different kinds of Kervin. Inspired by Spiderman Into the Spiderverse all the versions of Kervin contained different personalities, stories, almost the same appearance, fighting styles, and special abilities. One of the most signature outfits is the black and red formal suit.
I already made a folder in toyhouse. However, most of it are unfinished and still ongoing.
https://toyhou.se/Kervin619/characters/folder:812137
People think that those stories a self-insert but it is actually not. Me and my other Kervins are the same but they are different the appearance, abilities, and personalities. An example is Denk Ops’s Chris Danger from the WWE games. And note that this is another long announcement for the other fanfics
So anyway, here are my Kervinverse stories that I would really like to share about Wattpad in the future. So are book covers later
KERVINVERSE STORIES (Including crossovers):
Grand Theft Auto Origins: Kervin Made Liberty – Set in the GTA HD Universe. Before Kervin (GTA Online) came to the place called San Andreas, he was just a very young boy who was born in the place called Liberty with his parents. His father Claude who became rich and retired to a life crime and his wife Misty who used to be a prostitute. It was normal and happy life for him and his parents. But when years passed when he is getting older, he slowly starts to realize what kind of broken world he is living in.
Now for those who played the HD Universe of the GTA Games you know every protagonist in the HD universe like Niko, Johnny, Luis, Michael Franklin, and Trevor. As much as they have different stories and perspectives but this story about GTA OC that he was living with full of offensiveness, disrespectfulness, brutal honesty, and others. An example in GTA IV a radio commercial of Babies Overnight that said that someone was not satisfied with the baby it can be disposed of. Although it would be interesting to have that backstory for my next OC for GTA. So, this story may contain a lot of murder and crimes on what led to him going to San Andreas. So, watch out. And for those who have not played GTA Online why his parents are both Claude and Misty is because it was part of the premium edition for free in Epic Games.
Def Jam X Kung Fu Panda: Book 1 Fight for A New Fight (maybe a working title) - After the events of Def Jam Vendetta, Fight For New York, and The Kung Fu Panda Trilogy including Legends of Awesomeness. Set during Paws of Destiny Season 2 in the Kung Fu Panda universe while in Def Jam 2 years later in the year 2005 after Crow's death (Fight for NY still takes place in 2003) Kervin (Def Jam Fight For NY) the new leader D-Mob's crew but also officially known as the Def Jam Crew after Blaze appointed him to take his place. Kervin has to manage every venue, club, and arenas in New York including places that Crow took over. But in Chinese New Year there was something strange that Kervin and his crew got transported to a different universe. Including former members, fighters, and circuit fighters.
Now, this fanfiction sounded really odd. As you may know why I am making crossover fanfic of Kung Fu Panda X Def Jam? Easy. The first one is because this is what would have been my PS2 games if I ever have a PS2. I was thinking of Mortal Kombat or Yakuza for Def Jam but Kung Fu Panda is the only thing I know when I was 7 years old. The second is because back in the days Hip Hop mixed with Kung Fu was very popular. Although Def jam may be a wrestling game martial arts stole my heart in Def Jam Fight For NY. I heard about things like the Wu-Tang Clan for example but the biggest problem for me is that I am not a true fan of Def Jam because I don’t know about hip hop artists. Just only the games so I will be focusing on their video game counterparts in their fictitious manner meaning pretending real-life characters with their real name are fictional characters. So, if there and fun facts in those real-life counterparts I may add them to it like easter eggs. The third is that there are Kung Fu Panda characters that did not get enough love and mostly art. So many recognizable characters like Po, Tigress, Tai Lung, and many more have become the most recognizable characters in the movies. But what about the tv shows like Legends of Awesomeness and Paws of Destiny? One of my favorite characters of Legends of Awesomeness is Peng, in short, he is the nephew of Tai Lung and he is such an interesting character that he deserves a lot more love. While for Paws of Destiny is Xiao because she is such a cute character, so is her personality and the best character to have hugs with. So, what I am trying to say is that I need to start off with the character that is unrecognizable then bring it recognizably. I may also add characters from shorts like student Mei Ling in the future book and it would be funny and to see rogue Mei Ling. 2 Mei Lings in one. Even Su and Master Snow Leopard because are both female leopards with the same appearance and outfit. I may also include some characters from the flash game Tales of Po and may possibly rewrite them in different stories because I love the character designs thanks to Blue Maxima’s FlashPoint. And the fourth and final part is that to make the Def jam games more recognizable. Def Jam in music is not absolutely enough but video games are. The Def Jam games did not bring a sequel after Fight For NY so I might as well make a sequel with interesting and experimental crossover fanfic just like The Loonatics Road.
The Red Fox (Kingdom Force Spinoff and maybe a working title) - The Kingdom Force has 5 members defending the 5 Kingdoms. Luka the wolf who leads in red, Jabari who runs in yellow, TJ who drills in green, Delilah who swings in orange, and Norvyn who strengthens in blue. Each of the 5 drives Kingdom Riders and turns them into Alpha Mech to fight against evil in the 5 Kingdoms. But even if they save the day multiple times the 5 Kingdoms are still filled with more crime and every antagonist came back doing other crimes and evil deeds because they were not arrested or eliminated. That's is when a red fox came along...
I have seen popular fandoms in cartoons that were supposed to aim at younger kids like Lion Guard, MLP, Paw Patrol, and even Bluey. But Kingdom Force is the cartoon that did get enough love. It's like Power Rangers and Voltron but with anthropomorphic animals like Zootopia. However, the stories and episodes in the show is very confusing and give me almost a lot of questions. But I do like the character designs in the show. My favorite hero is Luka who is a leader with and cute cuddly character personality and my favorite villain Envie Fernadez which she has a pretty hot design, name and voice and so is her personality. Reminds me of Sly Cooper but I have not played the game yet. But for the red fox also OC Kervin (Kindom Force) It’s still at work.
APB Reloaded X Zootopia: Anyone Can Be All You Can’t Be: - In Zootopia “Anyone Can Be Anything” But in San Paro “Be All You Can’t Be” Zootopia is a place where vicious predators and meek prey live in harmony. This means that people in Zootopia live together without the prey getting eaten by predators and predators not getting feared by the prey. They almost eat like us, they sleep like us, they speak like us, they walk like us, they run like us, they bathe like us (well almost), and most importantly they use technology like us. While San Paro maybe has a good look to sightsee but this city has a lot of crime. Robberies, bombings, thefts, drug dealing, murders and causalities, vandalism, and much more that we can think of. But that does not mean there is no justice in this world. When the Criminals like the Blood Roses and the G-Kings try to take over San Paro? The Enforcers Prentiss Tigers and Praetorians from come and save the day. What would happen when a human Enforcer meets a police fox and a police bunny? And how did it happen? Only one way to find out.
Now this one is also a Kervinverse crossover story. It focuses on Kervin (APB Reloaded) meeting Judy and Nick. I am trying to find a way on how will they meet each other. But the only thing ideas I know is that it can be a delivery gone wrong, an invention gone haywire or maybe a criminal stole something magical that is transported to a different universe. But I have a lot of strange things in the game like the Christmas events and Halloween events. I like to see any volunteers who play APB Reloaded. And for those Zootopia fans who have not played APB Reloaded you check it here. https://store.steampowered.com/app/113400/APB_Reloaded/
Well, that is it for the Kervinverse stories. Now it’s time for the other stories that I also planned in the future.
OTHER FANFICS:
Alza Flare (Road Rovers Fan Spinoff)- Alza is a black cat born in the place in New York City, USA. He was born inside a pet shop without cat parents since he was born. His parents' status is unknown. Although he did make friends with other cats and non-cats in the shop. But it was a short while until a human customer named Drayson Flare and adopted him as Alza Flare. Alza has been Drayson's pet for 3 years and they instantly became best friends but when during the time when they are about to go home from the park. A terrible accident happened.
A long time ago I watched Road Rovers on my phone just to try something nostalgic and the show is pretty good though although there are some parts that don’t use their powers all the time. One part that caught my eye is how brutal car accident in the episode “Dawn of The Groomer” which gave me an idea of my new anti-villain OC character named Alza Flare. Sadly, he does have an image of him yet. But I will tell you that I will give you an interesting revenge story for him.
The Best Surfer In The World (Surf’s Up Spinoff. Maybe a working a title and synopsis change) - After the events of Surf's Up and Surf's Up 2: Wavemania. There was once a wolf who lives in the place of Chicago Illinois. He quit his own career due to being a rejected member of Hang 5 for being too unstable and after beating J.C. in a tournament years ago and after his early retirement, he spends his normal life as an ice cream man in his own ice-cream motorcycle with one of his own freshest ingredients and swears to himself that he would never in the waters again. Until he met a young Toyger.
Surf’s Up is my first favorite mockumentaries since I was young. It’s like you are watching animals andromorphic animals absolutely existed in the world we live in. It had an interesting story and writing so are the interesting characters. But when I watched Surf’s Up Wavemania. Well, I honestly love the WWE Superstars and Diva came into the movie but the story did not actually surprise me a lot. Even if the movie has a lot of beautiful locations it still did not surprise me enough because it is more like an adventure than a tournament. That is why I am planning to start my fanfiction in a new different approach with a real story and a real rivalry. Starting with wolf inspired and based on CM Punk during the part when he won the WWE belt against Cena in Money in the Bank when I watched it since intermediate school with a little rename change so it won’t be obvious. And of course, my Toyger OC because he would be trained by his own surfing master. Also, I added a Slam City easter egg
Fire Pro Wrestling World Origins: Story of 2 Angels – There is no synopsis of them yet. But I will tell you they are brother and sister with the last name “Angel” The brother who is a pop artist while the sister who joined a motorcycle club. What they both have in common is they both can fight. Their stories about my 2 new Fire Pro OCs will be coming soon. But they are not part of the fighting roads.
Well, that is all for all the future stories with some summaries that I really want to share coming soon. Thanks for following including Wattpad
For those who are new here follow me on both Tumblr and Wattpad with the orange word link

decided to write a scene from my rewrite/au of the darkest hour, specifically the last scene in which firestar buries smudge/scourge.
-
It was the first morning of the year where spring’s emergence began to feel palpable.
Slowly, the ginger tabby dragged the smaller black-and-white body behind him. What had glistened when he had first felt grass between his paws now simply shone. The luster of childhood had been long gone, and while it still sparkled with the glint of sky, it did not have the depth and the endless horizon that it once had.
On this pale early morning, Firestar had a mission. And while he tried to keep nostalgia from nipping at his ears, this was a mission that almost required that.
He reached a clearing and looked around. This is where it had all began- the yellow houses neat in a row, the plywood flowerbeds that lined them, the white picket fence that now looked much shorter and less daunting than it had when Firestar had first ventured into the forest all those moons ago.
Dutifully, he dabbed his dewy eyes with his forearm- still scabbed and rough from the battle that had taken place the day before- and started digging into the earth. WindClan would do this a lot better than I, he thought, recalling the stories Onewhisker and Gorseleap had told him of the days when WindClan tunneled like hares.
Perhaps they tunnel in the clouds, up there in StarClan. Gorseleap would like that.
As he dug, the ground became softer and warmer. The scent felt as though it were needles sticking into his nose- not that it was a noticeable scent, but rather one he had not smelled since he was but a mere kit. The type of scent that one breathes in and is suddenly awash with the feeling that a long-gone mother is calling them home... Rusty. Rusty...
Firestar gazed upon Smudge’s face. It possessed not the lively cheer that the tom had had as a kit, not the crimson anger of his adulthood under the name of Scourge, but an otherworldly peace that the tom had never been granted the privilege of in life. His collar was still around his neck, yet it had been worn to a thread, and his eyes were just barely closed, and the red stains in his fur from the blood that had pooled round his head cradled his cheeks with the softness of a dove’s feather.
Firestar’s vision became blurry as he nudged the piebald tom into the hole that he had dug. Limpness had overtaken the body, and it slid into its place. Gently, he removed the worn, spiked collar with a simple pluck, and opened Smudge’s eyes just enough that they could perceive the morning light that he no longer could. The soft earth and bulbs of tulips that were yet to be embraced the small figure as Firestar pushed it back into place, and as swiftly as it had began Smudge’s burial was over.
Firestar leapt onto the white picket fence- quietly, in case one of his old Twolegs had awoken before the dawn. Checking for movement, he studied the windows of his old domain. He had never noticed how cracked the paint had been, how scratched the window’s edges were, until now. Were they always like that? It was a question he could not answer. Once he was certain no movement was near, a small orange picture frame in the corner caught his attention. It depicted a brown tabby in the same bed he had once slept in, the same stuffed toy tucked away in her paw, the same hand upon her rounded head.
Life had gone on for the old house just as it had for its old inhabitant, and Firestar felt closure to something in his heart that he had never noticed wasn’t closed to begin with.
He looked back towards his forest home. All the cats he had met on that first fateful night... Graystripe was gone; in another Clan now, likely to never see this border again. Lionheart had died, and so had Bluestar, and even for Tigerstar, crooked as he may have turned out to be, Firestar felt a pang of nostalgia. Oh, how he wished to go back to that day! The feeling of something wonderful brimming on the horizon, the feeling of sheer wonder, the feeling that any avenue could be wandered down and every log upturned. He had never noticed how much it had slipped away until now.
But even still something new felt like it was beyond the blue sky, as the amber sun slowly rose. And Firestar remembered the prophecy, of a hero cloaked in a ginger coat rising amidst the battles of StarClan and a place of no stars. All of that was to be- and all Firestar could do was embrace destiny. However, he had learned that the process of embracing destiny wasn’t submission or a fight; it was gradual, inevitable, soothing as the leaves falling in autumn and sprouting once again in spring. Warmth whispered in the ginger tom’s heart as he looked to the slowly-disappearing last morning stars. To now, and to ever.
He would bury the striped, worn collar in ThunderClan camp alongside where his had been buried, and then he would ask Longtail to organize the morning patrol, and life would go on in ThunderClan. But for now, he decided to sit and stop, and listen to the optimistic silence of the world before him.
The dawn, he noted, had never looked brighter.

Mankar Camoran :  So, the cat's-paw of the Septims arrives at last. You didn't think you could take me unawares, here of all places? In the Paradise that I created? Look now, upon my Paradise, Gaiar Alata, in the old tongue. A vision of the past... and the future.Behold the Savage Garden, where my disciples are tempered for a higher destiny: to rule over Tamriel Reborn. If you are truly the hero of destiny, as I hope, the Garden will not hold you for long. Lift your eyes to Carac Agaialor, my seat at the pinnacle of Paradise. I shall await you there.
How little you understand! You cannot stop Lord Dagon. The Principalities have sparkled as gems in the black reaches of Oblivion since the First Morning. Many are their names and the names of their masters: the Coldharbour of Meridia, Peryite's Quagmire, the ten Moonshadows of Mephala, and... and Dawn's Beauty, the Princedom of Lorkhan... misnamed 'Tamriel' by deluded mortals.Yes, you understand now. Tamriel is just one more Daedric realm of Oblivion, long since lost to its Prince when he was betrayed by those that served him. Lord Dagon cannot invade Tamriel, his birthright! He comes to liberate the Occupied Lands!
Ask yourself! How is it that mighty gods die, yet the Daedra stand incorruptible? How is it that the Daedra forthrightly proclaim themselves to man, while the gods cower behind statues and the faithless words of traitor-priests? It is simple... they are not gods at all. The truth has been in front of you since you first were born: the Daedra are the true gods of this universe. Julianos, Dibella and Stendarr are all Lorkhan's betrayers, posing as divinities in a principality that has lost its guiding light. What are Scholarship, Love and Mercy when compared to Fate, Night and Destruction? The gods you worship are trifling shadows of First Causes. They have tricked you for Ages. Why do you think your world has always been contested ground, the arena of powers and immortals? It is Tamriel, the realm of Change, brother to Madness, sister to Deceit. Your false gods could not entirely rewrite history. Thus you remember tales of Lorkhan, vilified, a dead trickster, whose heart came to Tamriel. But if a god can die, how does his heart survive? He is daedroth! TAMRIEL AE DAEDROTH! "This Heart is the heart of the world, for one was made to satisfy the other." You all remember this. It is in every legend. Daedra cannot die, so your so-called gods cannot erase him from your minds completely.
Well done, champion! Your progress is swift and sure. Perhaps you will reach me after all. You think I mock you? Not at all. In your coming, I hear the footsteps of Fate. You are the last defender of decadent Tamriel. I am the midwife of the Mythic Dawn, Tamriel Reborn. I welcome you, if you truly are the agent of Fate. I tire of the self-styled heroes who set themselves in my path, only to prove unworthy in the event.
I have waited a long time for you, Champion of Old Tamriel. You are the last gasp of a dying age. You breathe the stale air of false hope. How little you understand! You cannot stop Lord Dagon. The walls between our worlds are crumbling. The Mythic Dawn grows nearer with every rift in the firmament. Soon, very soon, the lines now blurred will be erased. Tamriel and Oblivion rejoined! The Mythic Age reborn! Lord Dagon shall walk Tamriel again. The world shall be remade. The new age shall rise from the ashes of the old. My vision shall be realized. Weakness will be purged from the world, and mortal and immortal alike purified in the refiner's fire. My long duel with the Septims is over, and I have the mastery. The Emperor is dead. The Amulet of Kings is mine. And the last defender of the last ragged Septim stands before me, in the heart of my power. Let us see who at last has proved the stronger!

Ok question:
Is Bao from KFP 3 and Bao from Paws of Destiny the same kid? Because if so, I need to rewrite a couple of things in my fanfic (not a bad thing)

Oh my gosh yes I want to hear all of your AU ideas, please! I don't know where to start though ummm... What are the major plot premises for the first arc? Culture/Social constructs? Character relationships, both platonic and romantic? I have a lot more questions actually haha, would you consider doing a daily/weekly/monthly (whichever works for you) AU ideas trivia leek? So, like every (insert time frame) you'd release a random AU idea/fact on Tumblr?
I’ll start with the first question! The others are pretty general, but if you ask about something more specific I’m happy to answer most things outside of a few plot points.
There are four arcs planned: Four Fates (prequel SEs), Fire Rising (TBP), Changing Skies (TNP), and Five Souls (PoT and OotS).
Four Fates can be summed up as “Bluestar’s Prophecy, Crookedstar’s Promise, Yellowfang’s Secret, and Tallstar’s Revenge but if they were all friends and also I change a bunch of other stuff for the hell of it.” Themes: Destiny sucks, with a side of coming of age and family.
Fire Rising is the first arc but some stuff is different? Hypothetically it’ll all work out? This is the least fleshed out of all the arcs, I know what themes I want but haven’t quiiite figured out how I’ll get there yet. Themes: Destiny is a poor excuse for being a dick, and also some other stuff.
Changing Skies is “road trip crew goes on road trip, but I like the old territories so now they’re gonna go get SkyClan instead of having Firestar do it. Also we’re adding in Leafpaw and giving Crow a sibling bc everyone should get a sibling”. Themes: Sometimes you have to say fuck tradition, with a side of fuck destiny.
Five Souls is “I change basically everything about these arcs and you’re going to LIKE IT”. Theme: I’m gonna kill destiny with my own damn paws if i have to, with a side of coming-of-age.
Even though it’s basically a rewrite I don’t wanna call it that bc the goal is really just to chuck a bunch of my ideas into one universe. I hope it’s good and I do wanna change some stuff I have issues with but I’m changing just as many things solely for fun! It’s just one au that ate all my other au ideas.

What are your favourite and least favourite super additions and what changes would you make to them? Also I love your writing and ideas. Your very talented :)
Favorite Super Edition: Tallstar’s Revenge
It’s my favorite for a reason but if I had to make changes, I’d start with clarifying the timeline of events because there are multiple character age inconsistencies. It seems Tallstar is much older than Bluefur and even Yellowfang, but the timeline isn’t clear so it can be hard to chart out events at times.
Fix Talltail’s relationship with Sandgorse. I would’ve kept Sandgorse putting pressure on Tallpaw to change, and just trying to force what he wants Tallpaw to be on him. That’s an interesting conflict, but have them start to resolve it and just as Tallpaw feels him and his dad are getting back on track, THEN have Sandgorse die in the tunnels. It would be a better motive for Talltail to be angry his dad was taken just as things were improving.
I would’ve liked a bit more time spent with Barkface and his and Tallstar’s friendship. They’re leader and medicine cat eventually so it would’ve been nice to get more interactions like the one we got with them in the medicine den.
Make the moments Tallpaw has with Sparrow really count. Drop some suspicious hints. I headcanon Sparrow as Clawface and Nightpelt’s dad, so maybe him sneaking out of camp one night is seen by Tallpaw and he’s confused. Basically, give more reason for Tallpaw to rationalize that Sparrow murdered Sandgorse.
I would’ve changed Sparrow. Make the Sandgorse incident an accident, but still make it his fault. Like maybe there’s some sort of argument that happens and their movement causes more of the tunnel collapse. Sandgorse actually DOES leave Sandgorse behind. There’s no “Sandgorse sacrificed himself”. He just dies, there was an incident, it happens.
Jake and Talltail is perfect.
Talltail choosing not to kill Sparrow is because he values peace, and causing harm is not in his character. We see throughout the book that Talltail doesn’t want to fight others. Characterize him as a brave cat who will fight if he has to, but ultimately is openminded and peaceful.
The scene helping RiverClan is a great example of this. It shows Talltail’s strengths as a peaceful leader and its benefits. Do this more!
Make Talltail’s relationship with Jake canon you cowards.
Overall make the theme of the book about moving on making your own destiny. Don’t let the past or others define what you become, and be the better person. Focus on bettering yourself, not tearing down others.
Plotline with Talltail addressing Palebird’s litter with Woolytail and having a heart to heart about her moving on while she still grieves.
Plotline with Barkface telling Tallstar why he became a medicine cat.
Plotline with Hopkit saying he’s going to be a warrior and run the moor even with the paw that’ll make it harder. He chooses what he’s going to be.
Least Favorite: Tigerheart’s Shadow
I don’t like canon Tigerheart, at least in this book. Literally rewriting him to be likable involved taking his good traits (which is that he’s caring and wants to prove himself), and then making those his goal rather than being with Dovewing.
The problem with this book is that your POV character is dumb. Tigerheart leaves ShadowClan when it is in its worst state, which ultimately makes him seem selfish to the reader. Honestly this book doesn’t need to exist and would be better if we didn’t have DoveTiger, but if we’re going to fix this.
Make this a novella, it does not need to be this long. Have the focus be on Tigerheart and Dovewing’s relationship and finding a solution to their problem. Prove to the reader how much they care about each other.
Improve their communication because Tigerheart doesn’t seem able to explain to Dovewing that ShadowClan is a mess and he has his mom, dad, and sister to think about.
Scrap the prophecy and dream thing, focus on the emotions of the characters. Let Tigerheart decide what to do on his own. It convinces the reader that he is thinking his own thoughts and is truly alone with his decision. It makes whatever choice he makes much more respectable, even if it’s wrong.
That scene with Ivypool is awful. Tigerheart, leave the sister out of this. Again, make the problem between Tigerheart and Dovewing. If this novel is about Tigerheart chasing Dovewing and becoming leader, then make that your focus: strengthen the relationship and prove that he’s a capable cat.
More scenes of the time in ShadowClan with him being a cat others admire and can rely on. He’s a stable point for ShadowClan, which will make the choice to leave to find Dovewing that much harder.
Point is, we as the reader will sympathize if we value Dove and Tiger’s relationship, but also understand how important Tigerheart is to his clan’s stability. If we believe that, then we identify with Tigerheart’s dilemma. The problem is that Tigerheart acts dumb and makes his own problems, so we just groan.
I honestly can’t even really go on with the church cats cause they’re fine and nice, and everything seems good when we find Dovewing, but then Tigerheart tries to change their ways and it makes him look even worse.
Like how am I supposed to believe this guy would be a great leader when every other chapter he does another stupid thing.
No revival. He just lives, returns, and becomes leader. Unless I can say he doesn’t become leader and we go with a redemption arc for Rowanstar, a Tawnystar, or heck Scorchstar even.
Just… please don’t make the MoonPool a revival spot. Never in your fiction should you have a way to “reverse” death. If you want the same effect, go with coma, but don’t have them DIE and come back. It ruins the laws of your world.
