Gabriella Headcanons in Nanny
Gabriella is very vocal around her friends. She's loud and sometimes accidentally interrupts her friends when they're in the middle of saying something, but she gets too excited she can't help herself. She likes talking about her interests and can ramble on for hours
When she's older, her interest space out. So instead of just princesses and soccer, it turns to: kpop, sanrio, warrior cats, kirby, monster high, and possibly wants to do another sport but she loves soccer too much
Loves the color purple. Absolutely adores it. (I love the color purple too it's literally the best color ever). I've pictured her quince and her dress is a large, flowing purple dress with rhinestones (like my quince dress was teehee)
Gabriella is very attached to reader. After finding out about their relationship, she feels like its okay to view her officially as a mom. She snuggles her more, holds her hand, follows her around-basically the same thing she's always done but with more confidence ahaha
She doesn't plan on getting another lizard after Butterscotch. She doesn't mind getting a cat or dog, but never a lizard. Butterscotch will probably die around like 20 (maybe longer since Butterscotch isn't a normal lizard), and Gabriella will have her cremated. Getting another lizard would feel like replacing the pet that she basically grew up with and she refuses to do that.
Her dream job is to become a princess warrior, but she'll eventually find the passion of animals (more exotic animals) and become a veterinarian. She'll probably specialize in reptiles or even work at a zoo. Either a veterinarian or a dog trainer or anything relating to animals.
Gabriella is very passionate about her interests or the people she cares about. She likes to go on and on about, say for example, Twice. Her favorite members, whose photo cards she collects the most, etc. For the people she loves, she enjoys spending time with them and either buying them presents (when she's older and has a job. just because miguel is rich doesn't mean he'll keep handing everything to gabi) or making handmade gifts straight from the heart
Reader influenced her a lot. She looks up to her so much. Her kindness, how she takes the time to explain things to her, how she allows her to be upset and express herself. She helps her learn a lot of things about life, like how to handle certain situations at school or to listen to her body about food. Reader allows Gabriella to think for herself so she can be more independent (parenting the same way as Miguel)
Gabriella might be spoiled, but she's taught to be independent and how to speak for herself. If she wants something, she may ask but can get things for herself (she can ask for help if she can't do it). She helps learn how to cook, do her own laundry, etc. Basic life skills. When she's older and wanting expensive things (like an ipad) she does have to work for it. So she does chores, focuses on keeping her grades up, and understands that there's rules in owning an ipad (miguel and reader don't want her to become an ipad kid or leave her unsupervised to things that could potentially harm her, so parental controls are put in place and such)
Dana might've hurt her emotionally, but Reader is the one who eventually heals her. She filled the absence and more. Gabriella sees her more as a mom than Dana. She trusts her and follows her advice. Reader basically shapes her into the person she'll grow up to be.
Gabriella gets attached very easily, which means she can get hurt very easily. Her therapist managed to figure this out and helped her on her attachment issues.
Gabriella overall is a sweet kid with a big heart. She's loved and cared for and she has a bright future ahead of her.

Gabriella Kane was emotionally exhausted, which was a big difference to how she felt when she was stuck in the sky-box. Up there, when she was locked up and getting ready to get executed, she did not need emotions, but she wanted to feel something so badly that she even ended up stealing a guard's knife and carving her initials into the back of her leg, just under her knee. The feeling stung but she was the type of person who thrived off of anger and passion, not pain.
That was not a period in her life she was proud of and looking at the faint scar still made her obnoxiously angry. She felt weak for going to those lengths just to feel something and to feel human. But now, when she was on Earth in the middle of a war, leading a group of teenagers into war against actual warriors, she had to do that without the constant need to scream because two of her best friends were missing and there was nothing she could do about it.
Of course, the first thing Gabriella did when she woke up from the few minutes of sleep she got, was going to grab her gun. Only to realize Bellamy was one step ahead of her and already given orders that only specific delinquents were allowed to carry guns and no one was allowed to go out of camp with them.
"Bellamy, what the fuck?" Gabriella hissed, barging into Bellamy's tent.
He was laying on his back, shirtless, staring at the ceiling of the tent with a thoughtful expression on his face which instantly turned into one of amusement at Gabriella's pissed-off tone.
"Yes, Bambi?"
"Why the fuck did you give out the order that no one is allowed to go out of camp with a gun while I was asleep?" She asked, glaring down at him.
Bellamy shrugged, getting up and purposely flexing his muscles (only irritating Gabriella more) before picking up a shirt and twirling it around, his only intention to provoke her.
Gabriella clenched her jaw before she sighed. "You said we're gonna go looking for them after the sun goes up! It's been up for more than an hour. If we wanna find Clarke and Monty we need to go now."
"You're not going anywhere while I'm here." Bellamy said, suddenly turning serious.
"What are you, my father?" The blonde scoffed.
Noticing the corner of Bellamy's mouth slowly started tugging into a smug smirk, she instantly prepared for his next words by fixing him a warning glare. Which he obviously ignored.
"If you want I could ── "
"Don't you dare finish that sentence." The engineer warned with a scowl.
"No one's going outside." Bellamy said sternly. "You aren't in the right state of mind to be running around the woods with a gun in your hand. We can't risk losing anyone else." Gabriella opened her mouth to say something, only for him to cut her off again, "Wells and Raven agreed."
"Since when do you listen to Wells and Raven?" Gabriella asked, squinting her eyes up at him in confusion.
"I don't." Bellamy shrugged, "But you listen to Raven. So if she's okay with not going looking for her boyfriend if it means keeping everyone safe then so should you."
"I don't care if we find Finn or not. I want to find Clarke and Monty. Monty's an engineer and we need Clarke to get through this. You know that."
"Yeah." The man nodded solemnly. "But I also know I'm not willing to lose another one of our leaders."
"So what? We just sit back and do nothing?" Gabriella asked in disbelief.
"No." Bellamy said and shook his head, "We get ready for war. You can start by helping Jasper and Raven with the gunpowder for the minefield. Go."
"You're dismissing me?" The blonde gaped up at him, not believing he would start treating her like one of her lap dogs around camp.
Bellamy huffed, gripping the shirt in his hands tighter. "If that's what you'd call keeping you alive, then yes. You're dismissed."
Gabriella held her empty blue eyes glued to his dark brown ones before sighing and marching out of his tent. When she was standing outside she ran her fingers through her dirty blonde hair in frustration, feelings unexplainable anger bubbling up in the bottom of her stomach.
She looked around camp and her eyes connected with Murphy's, softening almost instantly. He looked like he was gonna walk up to her but something over her shoulder caught his attention and made him scoff under his breath and then turn around with a permanent scowl on his face. Gabriella furrowed her eyes in confusion and was about to follow him into the supply tent, only for Bellamy's voice to stop her.
"Trouble in paradise?"
The Kane girl turned around to see a shirtless Bellamy giving her a coy smirk, obviously catching her and Murphy's exchange and finding it amusing.
Gabriella quickly caught on to what Murphy probably thinks he saw and shook her head in annoyance. "You're an ass."
-
Gabriella quickly stopped what she was doing when a loud gunshot was heard through camp. Her eyes widened in alarm and she rushed towards the source of the sound, with Bellamy right next to her and a few other delinquents behind them.
"What the hell is the matter with you?" Bellamy snapped at a panicked Philip, who was supposedly the one who accidentally pulled the trigger of his gun.
"I'm sorry." Philip quickly defended himself, "I fell asleep. I've been on watch all day."
Bellamy clenched his jaw and gripped the top of Philip's jacket, pushing him against a three. "We've all been on watch all day! The bullet was one less dead grounder."
Gabriella stared at her co-leader with wide eyes, surprised by his outburst. Sure, she had seen him angry before but never like this.
"Bell," Octavia quickly chimed in, noticing Gabriella's hesitance to jump in, "you're scaring people."
"They should be scared!" Her older brother was quick to snap. He let Philip go and turned to the crowd surrounding him. "The bomb on the bridge bought us some time to prepare, but that time is up! The grounders are out there right now, waiting for us to leave and picking us off one by one when we do! Clarke, Finn, and Monty are gone, probably dead..."
Gabriella swallowed thickly at his words, gripping her fists tight enough to draw blood as she listened to his speech.
"...and if you want to be next, I can't stop you, but no guns are leaving this camp! This camp is the only thing keeping us alive!" Bellamy's eyes connected with Gabriella's teary ones as he spoke his next words, dismissing the crowd, "Get back to work!"
As she watched Bellamy storm away and back to his tent, Gabriella felt a presence behind her. She looked over her shoulder to see Wells looking down at her expectantly. "You gonna go calm him down or not?"
"Now why would I do that?" Gabriella drawled out, giving Wells an emotionless look.
"Because he trusts you." Wells shrugged as if it was the most obvious thing ever.
"Why do you even care?" Gabriella quickly changed the subject, turning around so she and Wells were standing face-to-face. She gave him a judgmental look. "Aren't you the one that left Monty alone?"
"You really think I wanted that?" Wells scoffs, shaking his head in frustration, "Don't you think I want to go after them too? I love Clarke and Finn and Monty are my friends."
"Really? Because it doesn't really look like you're doing anything that's gonna get the three of them back." Gabriella spat. She brushed past him without sparing him a second look.
-
"You know what will happen to me if you tell Bellamy."
Gabriella furrowed her eyebrows at the sound of Murphy's taunting voice coming from the walkie that was sitting on the table in the camp she, Raven, Monty, and Jasper reserved for building walking and radios.
She was about to ask what was going on when someone else with the third walkie beat her to it.
"Tell Bellamy what?"
Bellamy.
"Murphy has a gun. He killed Myles── "
Gabriella's eyes widened at Jasper's words and she was quick to grab her walkie and rush towards the dropship while speaking into the walkie.
"John, what the hell are you doing?"
Bellamy and Gabriella caught sight of each other at the same moment the dropship door closed. Bellamy instantly threw the cup of water from his hands and rushed towards the door, alongside Gabriella, in hopes of going inside and seeing what was happening before it closed. But they were too slow.
Gabriella banged on the dropship door in anger and frustration, both her and Bellamy calling John's name in the hope of figuring out what he was planning to do.
"Open the damn door!" Bellamy yelled, Murphy's little revenge fantasy only adding to his long list of problems.
"You try to be the hero, Jasper dies."
Gabriella's eyes opened in horror as she tried her hardest to fight back the tears threatening to spill from her eyes. That was not the John Murphy she fell for. That was someone who only cared about revenge. Someone that was willing to kill one of his closest friends to get what he wanted. Someone she did not recognize anymore.
-
The two remaining leaders of the hundred spent the entire night sitting outside of the dropship. Gabriella tried to make Murphy talk to her multiple times, but he did not budge. Bellamy tried to threaten him, but he still ignored them.
Gabriella has not been this terrified in a very long time. She did not know what Murphy was capable of at that moment. She did not know if he would actually have the guts to kill Jasper who was one of his only friends from The Ark.
Octavia emerged from one of the foxholes and made a B-line towards the two leaders. She panted as she caught her breath before speaking, panic obviously in her voice, "I just heard Murphy has Jasper."
"Yeah." Bellamy nodded, before asking. "South foxhole done?"
(Seriously? Gabriella thought bitterly. John has Jasper locked up and that's what he thinks about?)
"What?" Octavia asked exactly what Gabriella was thinking. "Bellamy, our friend is in there with a killer." She cast the blonde an apologetic glance. "No offense."
"None taken." Gabriella huffed, rubbing her palm over her face, too tired to be delusional about Murphy's murder attempts.
"O, look around." Bellamy started, looking around camp momentarily before looking back at his younger sister. "No one's working. If the grounders attack us right now, we're all dead."
Octavia ignored her brother's words and brushed past the two leaders to stand in front of the door, "Murphy! Murphy, if you even touch Jasper──"
"Octavia." Bellamy tried only for her to ignore him again.
"── I swear to god, you're dead."
"Octavia." Bellamy spoke, louder this time, "We got this."
"Really?" The brunette scoffed, "Because it doesn't look like you're doing anything about it."
Raven cut the argument off by approaching the trio. "Ella, you were right. There's a loose panel on the back. If one of us can pop it, we can get through the floor."
"Good." Gabriela sighed in relief, glad that they finally had a good plan. "You do that. I'm going to stay here, maybe try to keep him from doing anything stupid again."
Realization crossed Octavia's dirt-covered face and she looked down sheepishly, "Sorry."
Gabriella and Bellamy gave them a nod, before the latter picked up the walkie, trying to reach Murphy again. "Murphy, I know you can hear me. All our ammo and food is in the middle level. You know that. You're leaving us vulnerable to an attack. I can't let that happen."
"Yeah, well, in case you haven't noticed, you're not exactly in control right now."
Bellamy looked at Gabriella and let his shoulders slump in defeat. He hesitantly put the walkie to his mouth, "Come on, Murphy. You don't want to hurt Jasper, you want to hurt me."
Gabriella quickly realized what he was going to do and shook her head rapidly."No way ── "
Bellamy kept his gaze locked with the blonde's as he spoke his next words, which could possibly sign his life sentence, "So what do you say? How about you trade him for me?"
"No." Both Octavia and Gabriella said, the moment Bellamy put the walkie in his hand down, but he ignored both of them and spoke again.
"All you have to do is let him go and I'll take his place."
"How?" Murphy asked after a few moments of silence during which he was obviously debating what he was going to do.
"Bellamy." Octavia started, staring up at her brother pleadingly. "If you do this, he'll kill you."
"If I don't he'll kill Jasper."
"Bellamy, you can't seriously be considering this." Gabriella said, looking at her co-leader with a mix of disbelief and fear.
As much as the Kane hated to admit it, she needed him as much as she needed Clarke which meant that losing him was not an option.
"I am." Bellamy said simply, not giving her any room to fight as he spoke into the walkie again. "Simple. You open the door, I walk in, he walks out."
The dropship door started slowly opening as a sign Murphy accepted the offer. Bellamy passed his sister his walkie and started to make his way towards the dropship, only for Gabriella to grip his wrist tightly, almost afraid to let go. And she was, she had no idea what Murphy's plan was and she was scared of what could happen inside.
"You really don't want me to go in with you?" She asked, looking up at him, silently pleading for him to tell her he wanted her to go in. But it was possible it would end up worse if she did and they both knew it.
"We can't have all three leaders gone, Gabi." Bellamy said, his features softening slightly at the fear on the blonde's pale face.
"He won't hurt me."
"I'm not risking that." Bellamy quickly shook his head, surprising both of them with the speed of his response.
"Just..." Gabriella started, sighing softly. "be careful."
Bellamy chuckled, trying to ease the tension. "Don't worry, I won't hurt your little boyfriend too much."
"I'm talking about you." Gabriella corrected, making Bellamy's movements half. "I don't want you to get hurt."
"I appreciate the concern, Bambi." Bellamy said genuinely, smiling slightly, "But I got this."
Just as the last word came out of Bellamy's mouth, the dropship doors opened completely and Murphy's voice echoed through the camp, "Just you, Bellamy, unarmed. Ten seconds, or I'll put one in Jasper's leg."
"Take this." Bellamy said, quickly tugging his gun off his shoulder and passing it to Gabriella.
"We'll find a way to get you out of there. I promise." She told him, gripping his gun in her hand.
"You stay here. If I can't handle him, you're the only one who can. Now, get everyone back to work. The grounders are still coming." Those were Bellamy's last words before he turned around and walked into the dropship.
Not five seconds after Bellamy walked in, Jasper was being pushed out and the door was closing again. It took every cell in Gabriella's body not to run into the dropship. Instead of doing that, she helped Octavia untie Jasper and waited outside, hoping for the best.
-
"Do what I said." Murphy instructed after the first warning shot rang through the dropship, pointing to the red rope next to Bellamy's feet with the gun in his hands.
"Bellamy?" Came Gabriella's hesitant voice through the walkie, "Bellamy! Talk to me. Are you alright?"
"You want Queenie to know you're alive?" Murphy said, trying his best to keep his burning jealousy at bay. The man in front of him took everything from him. His freedom, his pride and his girl. "Start tying."
"Bellamy, do you copy?" That time it was Octavia's voice and it made Bellamy even more anxious.
"I'm fine." He said after he started tying. "Just a misfire. Now stop worrying about me and get back to work, all of you. And tell Raven to hurry her ass up."
"All right, that's long enough. Tie those two ends together." Murphy instructed, making Bellamy drop the walkie from his jades and do as he was told.
Once he was done, Murphy spoke up again, "All right. Now get up and toss it over."
At that moment it finally dawned on Bellamy what Murphy was planning. He wanted to hang him, just like he did with him. He swallowed thickly before tossing the tied rope up and facing Murphy again, "What do you want me to say? You want me to apologize? I'm─ I'm sorry."
"You got it all wrong, Bellamy. I don't want you to say anything. I want you to feel what I felt, and then...then I want you to die." Murphy said, glaring daggers at Bellamy.
"Is this about, Gabi?" Bellamy asked, noticing how Murphy's jaw tightened at just the mention of the girl he obviously has feelings for. "Nothing happened, okay? She doesn't feel anything for me. But she does for you. Are you really gonna do this to ── "
"Shut up." Murphy barked, tightening his grip on the gun in his hands. "We're not here to talk about girls. Now pull the stool under the rope and stand on it."
Once Bellamy did what he told him to, the red rope was right in front of his face. It was at this moment that he started to lose hope until Gabriella's voice was heard from the walkie on the floor.
"John?"
Her voice was soft and pleading, making him stiffen instantly.
"I know you can hear me. You don't have to do this, okay? Don't hurt him and everything will be fine. Everything will go back to the way it was. Just don't hurt him."
His stomach was heavy with envy at how quick Gabriella was to defend Bellamy and plead for him not to kill him. But a part of him also melted at her words, sensing the sadness and desperation in her tone. She did not want to be the only one left standing. She did not want to lead the delinquents through the war alone.
He held eye contact with Bellamy, to make sure he didn't move. Then, he picked up the walking and spoke into it with an apologetic tone. "I don't have a choice, Ellie."
"Yes you do." She responded stubbornly. "Just care about me more than you hate him. We'll figure it out, together. As long as you let him go."
"I'm sorry, Ellie." Murphy sighed. "But that's not gonna happen."
And just like that, the walkie was smashed into pieces when Murphy dropped it on the floor as hard as he could. He aimed his gun back at Bellamy, who was looking at him in disgust.
"This is insane." Bellamy started. "The grounders could ── "
Murphy cut off his pleading by shooting a gun at the fall nonchalantly, successfully shutting the older boy up.
"Put it over your head." He instructed, twirling the red rope in his hand.
Bellamy huffed and followed his instructions. "Happy now?"
Murphy tugged the rope, making Bellamy stumble a bit. He chuckled at the sight, "You're so brave aren't you? I mean, you came in here thinking you were just gonna turn this whole thing around, that you were stronger than me, and maybe one of your friends would come and help you. Well, what do you think now, Bellamy? Hm?"
Bellamy desperately gripped the rope around his neck and tried to keep his feet on the stool when the boy in front of him started tugging it faster.
"You know. I gotta hand it to you, Bellamy." Murphy taunted, "You got 'em all fooled. They actually look up to you, almost as much as they look up to Ellie and Clarke. Yeah, well, we know the truth, don't we? You're a coward. I learned that the day you kicked out the crate from beneath me. What did you say, again? That you were just giving the people what they wanted, right?"
"I should have stopped them." Bellamy admitted. I should have listened to her.
"Yeah, it's a little too late for that now."
"You think they're just gonna let you walk out of here?" Bellamy asked, trying to stall and give Raven a chance to get the door opened.
"Well, I think the princess is dead...but I know the king's about to die, so who's really gonna those people, huh?"
"You're forgetting about Gabi." Bellamy was quick to say, knowing that he would hit a nerve but also saying the truth. "You know, the only person that somehow saw through your psychopath facade when everyone else gave up on you. But you know you're gonna lose her as soon as you walk out if you kill me."
Murphy tried to look unfazed by his words but gripped the rope tighter and spoke as if Bellamy did not say anything, "Maybe I'd have to kill your grounder-pounding little sister ── "
Bellamy anger flared at the bare mention of his sister's life being in danger and he tried to kick Murphy with his feet but it only made him lose balance and almost fall. Murphy relaxed his hold on the rope when there was a yelp heard from under the floor. He smirked coyly. "I'm guessing that's her right now."
Much to Bellamy's dismay, Murphy started shooting blindly at the floor until he ran out of bullets. He panicked when he saw he ran out and kicked the stool from under Bellamy.
Noticing Bellamy was trying to breathe by holding his hands between the rope and his throat, Murphy tugged on the rope again. "Using your hands is a cheat. Mine were bound, remember?"
Bellamy was just starting to turn blue when the dropship door let out a loud creak and started to open.
"Raven, you did it!" Jasper's voice was heard outside.
Murphy started panicking and rushed to the upper level of the dropship when Gabriella, Octavia, and Jasper barged into the dropship.
-
Gabriella's eyes widened at the sight of Bellamy hanging from the dropship ceiling by a red rope and did not hesitate even a second before she took her axe out of the waistband of her jeans and cut him down.
Bellamy grunted in pain as soon as his body hit the floor and Octavia was quick to get on the floor, right above his head, and take the rope off his neck. "Bell, breathe. Breathe."
"Can you breathe?" Jasper asked, looking at his leader in concern.
When Bellamy took a deep breath of air, all three of them sighed in relief.
"Good. You're okay. You're okay." Octavia cooed.
"Wells, Raven, he's fine." Jasper yelled to the duo, who were still under the dropship.
As soon as Bellamy caught his breath, he got to his feet, ignoring Gabriella's attempts to stop him, and rushed to the hatch that led to the second floor.
"Murphy!" He yelled, "Murphy! It's over."
He grunted and started climbing up on the ladder, still yelling Murphy's name in anger. Gabriella watched as he failed to open the hatch and pleaded, "John! Open the door!"
"There's only one way out of this for you now!" Bellamy threatened, banging on the hatch.
All four of them on the first floor are startled when a loud explosion is heard from the second floor. The explosion must have gotten the hatch open since the next time Gabriella looked at Bellamy, he was opening it and climbing up to the second floor.
Gabriella quickly followed him up and almost choked on the amount of smoke that filled her lungs. The smoke makes her vision blurry but she's still able to see that all the gunpowder is gone and there's a huge hole in the wall, with Murphy nowhere in sight.
Jasper came in between Gabriella and Bellamy, who were staring at Murphy's blurry figure running away through the woods.
"The guy knows how to make an exit." Jasper comments, making both present leaders give him a deadpan look. "Should we go after him?" Jasper asked them after a moment of silence.
"No. Grounders will take care of Murphy." Bellamy was quick to shake his head, trying his hardest to ignore Gabriella's crestfallen expression.
"We're going after Clarke, Finn, and Monty." Bellamy started, surprising both Gabriella and Jasper. He held eye contact with Gabriella and added, "You were right. We don't abandon our own." Then he turned to Jasper and said "Two guns...you and me. That's it."
"Like hell." Gabriella scoffed. "I'm going with you."
"Now you're pushing it." Bellamy rolled his eyes. "You'll stay here with Raven to build up defenses. We lost a day because of this, and our gunpowder."
Gabriella's shoulder slumped in defeat, knowing he was right but still not feeling comfortable with him and Jasper going out there alone.
Bellamy turned around to make his way down when Jasper stopped him. "Bellamy, wait." The curly-headed man looked at him expectantly and Jasper let out a nervous breath. "Look, I just..."
Jasper could not find the right words to say 'thank you' so he wrapped his arms around Bellamy's shoulder and pulled him into a hug instead. Bellamy froze while Jasper whispered "thank you" and looked at Gabriella with a mix of panic and confusion.
Despite the situation they were in, Gabriella smiled faintly at the scene and bit back a chuckle, amused by the panic on Bellamy's face. The eldest Blake patted Jasper's back awkwardly.
Jasper pulled away and grinned. "Long way from 'whatever the hell you want'."
Bellamy let out a breathy chuckle but Miller's voice from the walkie broke up the moment. "All gunners! We got movement outside the south wall!"
The trio on the second floor shared a look before they sprinted outside of the dropship.
"Wait!" Miller yelled at the gunners ready to shoot. "Hold your fire! It's Clarke and Finn! Open the gate!"
Gabriella waited for the teenagers to open the door and let out a sigh of relief when Clarke came into camp with Finn behind her. The Kane did not waste a second to pull her best friend into a bone-crushing hug. Clarke stumbled backward a bit but wrapped her arms around the older girl's waist, letting out a sigh of relief herself.
Once they pulled away Clarke looked at the girl in front of her in confusion. "Hey, we heard an explosion. What happened?"
"Murphy happened." Bellamy answered for Gabriella, knowing she definitely did not want to talk about what happened a couple of moments earlier.
Jasper jogged towards Clarke and pulled her into a hug. "Thank god! Where have you been? Where's Monty?"
"Monty's gone?" Clarke asked, gaping in surprise.
Gabriella did not get a chance to panic because Finn spoke up from behind Clarke. "Clarke, we need to leave, now. All of us do. There's an army of grounders, unlike anything we've ever seen, coming for us right now. We need to pack what we can and run."
"You want us to run?" Gabriella scoffed, "We knew this was coming and we're not gonna run like a bunch of cowards to save our own ass."
"Ella," Octavia called out, "we're not prepared."
"And they're not here yet. We still have time to get ready. Besides, where would we go? Where would we be safer than behind these walls?" Bellamy exclaimed, backing Gabriella up.
"There's an ocean to the east. People there will help us." Finn said, making Octavia snap her attention to him.
"You saw Lincoln."
"Yeah." Finn nodded and Bellamy could not help but scoff at his words.
"You expect us to trust a grounder?"
"Especially after our people locked him up and tortured him." Gabriella agreed, "He led us into a trap last time. What makes you think this isn't another one?"
Bellamy nodded at her words before turning to the crowd of teenagers around them. "This is our home now. We built this from nothing with our bare hands! Our dead are buried behind that wall in this ground! Our ground! The grounders think they can take that away. They think that because we came from the sky, we don't belong here. But they're yet to realize one very important fact; We are on the ground now, and that means we are grounders!"
While Gabriella grinned in agreement, the other delinquents let out a bunch of 'yeah's' and Miller added, "Grounders with guns!"
"Damn right!" Bellamy exclaimed, "I say let 'em come!"
"Bellamy's right." Clarke cut in, making all attention turn to her. "If we leave, we may never find a place as safe as this. And god knows, in this world, we could be faced with something even worse tomorrow. But that doesn't change the simple fact that if we stay here, we will die tonight. So pack your things. Just take what you can carry, now."
When she was done with her speech, Clarke turned towards her two co-leaders with an apologetic look.
"You can't be serious." Gabriella said, shaking her head.
"I am." Clarke said, biting her lip. "If we stay here we die."
"But at least we die fighting." Gabriella was quick to shoot back and she was ready to keep arguing when Wells' weak voice caught her attention.
She turned around to see him trying to carry a half-conscious Raven in his hands. She rushed towards the pair, Clarke, Finn, Bellamy, and Jasper following right behind her.
"What happened?" Clarke asked, her eyes wide in horror.
"Murphy shot them." Jasper told her, noticing blood on Wells' shoulder.
Finn swiftly took Raven into his arms and Clarke grabbed Wells' shoulder to stop the bleeding. The Griffin hurriedly ordered Finn, "Get her onto the dropship."
Everyone except the three leaders headed inside and Bellamy looked down at Clarke with a stoic expression. "Clarke, leaving here is a mistake."
"The decision has been made." Clarke stated simply.
"God, you're acting like such a hypocrite right now." Gabriella scoffed and glared at her friend. "If all three of us are leading this camp and the two of us want us to stay then we're supposed to stay. This isn't absolutism. You can't decide everything by yourself."
Clarke looked taken aback by the attitude in Gabriella's voice but quickly recovered and met her with an emotionless expression. "The people made the decision. I'm just making this easier for all of us."
"Crowds make bad decisions." Bellamy chimed in. "Just ask Murphy. Leaders do what they think is right."
"I am."
Gabriella and Bellamy watched Clarke walk into the dropship with defeated looks on their faces. Bellamy let out a sigh, "This is why you're my favorite."

i've been thinking about differences between eren and gabi, and a big thing i think is that she's more clever.
(this sounds like i want to say that gabi is better than eren but i swear this isn't the purpose of this, i love them both lol)
like the scene with magath where gabi was like "okay if you want to sacrifice 800 soldiers instead of me i understand, i am really great and also cute" to reverse-psychology him into agreeing to her plan, and when eren attempts to convince people he brute-forces it:
Tumblr media
when we're introduced to gabi we're told that she's the top warrior candidate by far, and the armored train incident is there to show us why: she's terrifyingly effective because of the eren-like passion and hot-headedness plus being clever and resourceful (about how she presented herself to people and the tools she had), which isn't like eren at all.
...except for one time?
Tumblr media
he was also ridiculously effective in that situation, but he never acted similarly after it? (at least before s4 and even then it's not quite the same). so i don't know why that is?
maybe this scene is more metaphorical, supposed to symbolize the future (eren lost in the metaphorical forest, then cobbling together a devastating way to fight back), but still, what does it mean for eren's characterization in-universe?
another thing is that sort of in reference to fighting against mikasa's kidnappers eren said this:
Tumblr media
but he doesn't fight much with weapons after the broom-spear incident. if you don't consider his titan a weapon he has that one titan kill with odm gear i guess, and it's very much not unlike him to go at people unarmed
Tumblr media
he also bites his hand to turn into a titan while a lot of other shifters prefer to use a tool for that when they can. but gabi keeps having an affinity to weapons and actually doesn't fight unarmed.
i feel like it Means something but i'm not sure what. eren thinks he wants to fight only because it's necessary, he actually would want to fight anyway but gabi wouldn't? maybe something will come to me after i'll have some sleep. if anyone else has potential answers or thoughts i'd be curious to hear them

This is not canon it's just a product of my imaginative mind, and AOT belongs to Yams sensei
AOT Season 4 part 1 Update: A chat with Udo
Creme: Nice to meet you, I'm Creme and I will be your intero- I mean interviewer tonight. (extend hand)
Udo: (shakes hand) nice to meet you too.
Creme: so you will be playing as Udo a young warrior candidate?
Udo: yes along with Falco, Gabi and Zofia.
Creme: and I've heard that this is your first time acting?
Udo: first time on screen, I'm not new to acting, after all both my parents are actors and they've been a part of aot for years now.
Creme: so you're following in your parents footsteps?
Udo: not likely, I want to become a doctor someday so acting is like a hobby for me right now.
Creme: What can you tell me about your parents?
Udo: Oh, well my mom plays as commander Hanji and dad plays as Captain Levi.
Creme: any spoiler that you can share about, maybe a hint?
Udo: hmm, *whisper* I heard from the director that my mom's character might get killed at the season's end?
Creme: Hanji-san will be killed? Why?
Udo: I don't know, but I do suspect that it's because of Dad.
Creme: because of Levi-san?
Udo: *whisper* yes I heard him arguing with the big shots that my mom's fighting scene will be reduced and that she'll be using a double.
-he signals Creme to get closer.
Udo: I think my Dad got my Mom knocked up.
Creme: knocked up!!!
Udo: shhh!! You know the bun in the oven, the rice has been cooked. I think they need to kill Mom's character to hide the belly.
Creme: that is-
Udo: right!! It never crossed my mind that my Dad is reckless, passionate tiny old-
-Udo suddenly heard a deep voice near his ear.
Levi: oi, oi, oi, reckless, passionate tiny old-what huh brat
Udo: eeekkk!! 😱😱😱😱😱😱
-----
Creme: and that includes our update for today!!! Ja ne..
-at the background
Udo: Daaaaadddd!! I know my faults, don't let me kneel on the washboard...😭😭😭😭
-The truth is that Hanji being killed is a part of the show and not as Udo suspects.

...final bows taken. My first foray into Theater acting is in the books. I am flooded with new realizations about myself. Firstly... I found a place of powerful stillness and Grace. Of all the Queens of Revolution I have modelled myself after I not once ever considered Mrs Rosa Parks. She is the epitome of Resolute. I am a confident self aware woman, but I am not wealthy in passivity. It was a foreign hymn to the jukebox of flagrant defiance I usually march to. But, learning about Mother Rosa and studying the Testimony of her life, she taught me a potent new way to accept civic righteousness and human dignity. What I gained from her Example is a sustainable path forward with firm Tenderness using my boisterous passions to fuel my creative honesty. Slower. Quieter. In Certainty. Secondly, I have a titan level restrengthening and renewed faith in the successful patriotic determination of Black American women. This Roe disrespect had me shook for a spell, Y'all. But guess what? It backfired. Big Time! Look at these new Women joining the ranks in droves!! I am now residing exclusively in next level Savage Goddess Warrior status!! I believe this whole enterprise of Celestial design. It is a lightening rod from the Most High. I think that's why Rohan wrote the play, he is the Herald.. It's why Arin thought I should audition, he is the Seer. . It's why Bene dared me, held me accountable, and pushed me she is the General.. It's why the Company of @plot_theatre honored me with such a high standard of skill, bravery, audacity, talent, vulnerability, dedication, and Truth. This experience changed me. I do not think I'm an Actress. But I am a performer, a town cryer, a raconteur, but mostly I'm officially on the clock! I'm ready to scrub in and answer the call as I hear it. Thank you The Rise, for all you truly blessed me with. 💝 💐, Toni #therise2022 #plot #ana #gabi #elektra #sam #ollie #joshua #felipe #bene #rohan #arin #stagegoddessE #rosaparks #equality #community #theartswillshowustheway #civilrights https://www.instagram.com/p/CgbfoVgLAFY/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

love is tragic | Reiner Braun x Reader
summary; the death of the reader. instead of Sasha, it is the reader who takes the hit to save her and only realizing Gabi was the one did it. After math of Reiner finding out. Also small flashbacks.
disclaimers/warnings; angst. takes place in s4 ep8. Spoilers!! mentions of blood and shot. Reader presents as female.
a/n; I had this idea in my head for the longest time, I wasn't planning on writing this, but here I am.
Tumblr media
You wouldn't call yourself a “traitor” sometimes you thought, overthink it. You were just like them, the Warriors; yet so different, you were no titan. The only thing that made you a traitor was the beginning days of being in Paradis since the attack. And the day you return to Marley was hell. You never expected something so early to happen. Being protective over Reiner as time, days, and years went by. Just because he was the Armored Titan didn't change the fact, you both were still in love since the traitoring years. But that was gone, no more.
The scouts were the ones to call you a “traitor” when you were taken back to your homeland. They weren't devils; they never were devils. The knowledge that Marley spoke about them were untrue. So when the day came, having to bump into the scouts ... never in mind, you had thought. You had explain yourself, hoping for them to understand and Shockingly they did. Shortly after that day, you had packed up your things and went back to Paradis. You made sure to write a letter for Reiner after he got back from meetings and along with his cousin and the kids that were fond of him.
Looking at the small home you both shared, you felt like this was the wrong idea but deep down, it wasn't.
The years took off, The day Marley was officially attack by Eren Jeager. Maybe this was it. There was no time, for your words to get to Reiner, hell, you didn’t know if he was still even alive. The thought of it, hurt you. You shook it off. The noises of gunshots were going left and right. The gear the rest wore, were different. It was a nice change.
Jean and the others were handling the Cart titan, as it taken down. The group was retreating back to the airship, not knowing that the small Braun managed to get herself inside along with Falco trying to stop her. Sasha was the one who had mention it to the rest of the group. “Hey, quiet!” Jean shouted, as they all did and bang! -- “Sasha!” You had shouted, pushing out her the way. The way your body reacted from something you couldn't control, but you had saved your dearest friend from her death. You had taken a step back and fell with a loud thud.
The shot had hit in a place, you knew that you weren't going to survive this fight. Because your fight was over. “Shit! Hey! Stay with us, stay with me!” Jean shouted to you, but you couldn't. The pain was real, the blood covered your body and it began to rush. It wasn't stopping. The memories was yours truly were coming back ... how you wished you could've stayed with him a little longer.
“I'm going to marry her, one day” Reiner spoke, the way he talked about the small petite blonde girl was something you wished he thought about you and made you feel the admiration but that wasn't you. “who? the girl who’s completely out of your league? and who’s also in love with someone else?”  pointing it out as he snickered. “Yeah, sure” Before he got up and left you.
another memory came.
The confession was out of the blue, being in Marley, knowing you couldn't be with him. “I'm in love with you!” the shout was loud, he froze, his eyes widen. He wasn’t sure what came over you, was it a joke? you continued. “For the longest time, I never once saw you weak, When we were younger, you inspired me .. but at the end, I was still nothing ... I was always by your side, I noticed more than you think. But Me? Her? I just couldn't say.” Reiner came close to you, cupping your face and went in for a passion kiss. “But not to me” He slightly smile, before grabbing your hand.
But now here you were. Sasha had wrapped the badges around your upper body, but nothing seemed to stop the blood. It just kept going. “It keeps going, it won’t stop!” Sasha voiced cracked, hearing jean cursed under his breath. Your skin was starting to become pale, your eyes becoming dull, your breathing became unsteady and slow. You tried to speak, but nothing came out. “Don't try to speak, I’ll be right back. I have to take care of these kids and make them pay for what they did.” You also knew how everyone was protective over you and each other, before the shot; you had taken a glimpse of the kids. One of them was Gabi. She was the one who shot the sniper trigger.
Never expecting to get shot by the cousin of your beloved. Even Gabi knew who she just had shot, the regret in her eyes shown. She only met you couple of times with Reiner and was already fond of you till the first day of meeting.
“Reiner! Reiner! Who’s this” the little girl asked, as you stood there next to Reiner. “This is (Y/N) ... someone who I've been together with for quite some time now and please Gabi, get along with her” She nodded her head and began asking questions left and right. Knowing this was going to be a long day. But it wasn't the worse.
Connie and Sasha were hovered over you, watching you mainly. They couldn't see you like this. The fact, they knew about you and Reiner was possibly be something hard for them to speak and tell him. You tried to speak again but the only thing that came out was “Rei...” as your eyes closed, your breathing stopped. Both of you friends had began crying as they shook you to wake up, nothing worked. Connie was the first to rushed over the doors where The Commander Hange, Captain Levi, Zeke, Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Jean and the kids. “(Y/N) is dead.” Mikasa and Armin ran to your lifeless body and shouted and cried for you to come back. But that wasn't going to happen.
Till that day forward, Reiner met up and teamed up with the alliances, the only thing was he couldn't find was you. The rest of them are here. Jean, Mikasa, Armin ... but you? no longer here. “Hey! are you going to tell me where the hell she is!?” Reiner shouted while nobody had seemed to recover from that moment. “I'm sorry, Reiner. She’s no longer here with us. This little girl had gotten into our airship and had targeted Sasha but she pushed her out the way and took the bullet.” Jean explained, the blonde couldn't believe what he was hearing, you? dead? no. Tears began to fill Reiner eyes. “We also believe that little girl was your cousin. Gabi Braun.” That's when he completely was shattered and broke down. Yet, you were in a better place. He never got to kiss you goodbye on the day you left him, he will never be able to sleep knowing you're not there by his side.
⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Dear, Reiner Braun.
⠀ As I’m writing this to you, you’re probably angry. I know ⠀ and I’m sorry that it had to be this way. Just know that the next ⠀ time you see me ... I’ll always be your side, even when it’s all ⠀ ⠀wrong. Once this war is over, I would love to start a family with ⠀ you. You and I both know how much you would love that. And I ⠀ ⠀would love to give you that; when the world is finally at peace. ⠀ ⠀ You and I weren’t perfect but I’ve never felt this way about anyone before I’ve met you. Please live a life you could be proud ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ of, it isn’t over. Till then ... I’ll meet you soon.
⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ Love, (Y/N) (L/N)

the devil you know
Сharacters: Hange Zoe, Levi, Moblit Berner, Zeke Yeagar, Armin Arlert
Genres: Action / Drama
Summary: Can you still miss a person, if everything you knew about them was a lie?
Сhapter 3/?
Chapter 1
Chapter 2
"Falco, c'mon!" Gabi tugged at his arm, so roughly and forcefully Falco’s sleeve got almost ripped off.
"It's dangerous," he repeated for the tenth time, refusing to give in. "And this thing—" he pointed at the large stone Gabi concealed inside a deep brown cloth. "It could kill someone, Gabi."
"It should kill someone," she rolled her eyes. "They're all devils out here. If we kill them, they'll thank us, when we get home. Maybe, even throw a parade! Falco!" she punched his arm, grinning. "We have to do this, don't you understand? We have to get out, save Mister Zeke and Professor Hange—"
"Are you sure?" Falco suddenly interrupted. "Are you sure that... Professor Hange wants to be saved?"
Gabi frowned, staring at him quizzically. "What do you mean, Falco? Of course, she wants to be saved! She lived years with those demons and now they dragged her back into their hell. You've heard Reiner talk about all of them, can you imagine how hard it was for her? How much she is suffering now?"
He heard Reiner talking about his life in Paradise, and then he heard Reiner talk with that man... Eren Yeager.
And he saw, he watched Professor Hange Zoe.
Her father was a hero, an honorary Marleyan who lived and died for his country. His child was very much the same, possessed the same intelligence, loyalty and fierceness, if Colt's stories were true.
But Colt also said that in many aspects Professor Hange was different from her father. And, from what Falco could see, his brother was right.
Professor Hange was curious, enthusiastic and incredibly kind, especially to the young candidates. She had never called them names, never looked down on them. On the contrary, she was always ready to cheer them up with a smile, a joke or a bag of candies she claimed to carry with her all the time specifically for them.
On a battlefield, she was fierce and fearless, a perfect leader. Around her comrades, she was witty and cheerful, a bright beam of positivity in the middle of the dark, cruel world.
But when no one was around, when she thought no one was looking, the light in her eyes faded and smile slipped from her lips. The exhaustion and guilt slipped through the cracks in her façade. Worst of all, she looked so sad. Maybe, Reiner wasn't the only who felt like this, wasn’t the only soldier, who was broken by this war and their country.
Maybe, Eldians weren't the only ones who could be called devils.
Maybe, Gabi - and all of them, obedient soldiers of Marleyan Empire, ready to sacrifice their lives just for a chance of receiving respect - were actually wrong.
"Alright, let's do it," Falco sighed, surrendering to his fate. With or without him, Gabi would do what she had planned to. It’d be best for both of them, if he followed. "But at least promise me to—" he swallowed, afraid to even think of it. He had seen enough deaths in his lifetime - in battle, at home - but to take a life himself… he was still reluctant to do so. "At least, promise me to try and spare that guard, alright?"
"You're too soft," Gabi chided, but, nevertheless, she nodded and even ruffled his hair, making Falco blush in embarrassment. "Thanks for sticking with me, Falco. I promise to get us out of this."
***
This part - the part with luring out a guard to their cell and then knocking him off - was surprisingly easy.
Those devils are too dumb, Gabi claimed gleefully.
Or, maybe, too kind, Falco argued softly.
Hand in hand, desperately holding onto each other and trying not to show their fear, they made their way through the dungeon.
"Do you even know where they keep Mister Zeke and Professor Hange?" Falco asked, extra careful to make his voice even quieter than usual.
"Only one way to find out," Gabi grinned and then stomped her leg on a stone floor, loudly.
The sound reverberated from the stone walls, making Falco shudder.
"Gabi!" he grabbed the sleeve of her dress, wide-eyed and absolutely terrified. It seemed like he could almost hear the guards marching to them, rifles in their hands.
To his immense horror, Gabi repeated her action again and again, holding a finger to her mouth.
"Yes," she said finally. "I think we're on the lowest level of dungeons. So, naturally, we need to go up, if we want to find them, and," she paused, squeezing Falco's hand almost painfully. He watched her, a little perplexed and worried over the passionate fire in her eyes. He knew that expression too well, it usually led to some kind of disaster - explosions, high-risk missions and them jumping on an enemy plane to try and kill as many soldiers as possible only to end up tied up and thrown into prison. Gabi's endeavors always led to disasters and rarely had good outcomes. "Then we save them. We'll save Mister Zeke and Professor Hange, Falco!" Gabi jumped up and down, still holding onto him. "We'll save the smartest, most important soldiers. They'll call us heroes!"
"Only if we manage to escape safely," he reminded, shushing her. "And that won't happen if you continue making a ruckus!"
"Alright, alright," Gabi conceded, lowering her voice. "Let's start moving."
Falco nodded and together, they slowly continued walking through the dungeons. The floor they've been put on didn't hold other prisoners, and it seemed like no guard, except the one they’ve knocked out (and possibly killed, Falco thought, shuddering once again), was stationed there.
Still, there was no such thing as too much caution, or so General Magath always told them.
"Professor Hange really is amazing, don't you think?" Gabi asked, thankfully, keeping her voice down this time. "To live among these devils for so long all by herself, without a friend or a comrade... I wouldn't be able to take it. Have you seen them? That Captain of theirs, he's so short, but so scary. I actually thought he'd throw us out of that ship."
Falco thought so too. Captain Levi was indeed a very scary-looking man, although it seemed like Mister Zeke's accounts of him were slightly exaggerated. He didn't look like a monster at all. And, perhaps, Falco simply didn't see him in battle, but up on a ship he looked... sad. His eyes, they seemed to hold pain deep inside them.
They actually looked a lot like the eyes of Professor Hange.
Perhaps, the source for the pain inside their eyes was all the same.
Before going to that plane and seeing Captain Levi in person, Falco thought that Professor Hange was a lot like Reiner. And they still seemed to be alike, still carried guilt with them and sometimes looked lost and confused, but Professor Hange's eyes... and Captain Levi's too... There was a look of heartbreak inside.
The way they seemed to avoid looking at each other, but still their eyes inevitably darted to one another made Falco wonder just what happened to Professor Hange during those five years she had spent on the island.
Reiner lost Marcel, lost Annie and then Berthold as well.
But who did Professor Hange lose that made her seem so sad when she finally had come home?
"Do you think they allowed her to keep the candies?"
Gabi's dreamy voice pulled him out of his thoughts.
"Huh? What do you mean?"
Falco narrowed his eyes at her, feeling even more confused by Gabi’s behavior than usual.
"Candies," she rolled her eyes, making an emphasis on the word. "You know, like the ones Hange-san always brought us?"
Ah. Of course, he knew about those candies. Hange-san frequently visited young candidates at training facility. As one of the main strategist and engineers she had more than enough right to. She said that watching them train helped her think, made her understand how to create and adjust the new weapons, so they were more suitable and comfortable for the simple soldiers.
Whenever she came, usually with the Warriors in tow, it was almost like holiday. Professor Hange brought laughter and positivity with her, generous enough to share her energy with all of them. She ruffled the hair on their heads and pinched their cheeks, telling them how good they were and how proud they made her feel.
She showered them with praises and gave advises on how to become even better than they already were.
And she brought candies - so many candies. Different ones too, not the plain-tasting, awful candies from the Interment Zone. No, candies from Hange were special, allowed only for Marleyans, and she shared them willingly and happily.
She usually brought a whole sack of them - chocolate, marmalade, caramel, candy canes, corns, chewing gum, fruit drops, jelly candy.... Professor Hange memorized everyone's favorite type of sweets and she always made sure that everyone got their share.
Their commanders didn't approve, obviously. Zeke didn't approve too, saying she spoiled them too much. Porco didn't like her attitude as well, claiming that Hange was turning them too soft. Reiner usually didn't pay much attention to it, and Pieck picked a candy or two of the bunch and chewed on them with a radiant smile.
So, of course, Falco knew about the candies. How could he not? They were inextricably linked with one of the best memories he had.
That's why - against all of his doubts - he was eager to save Professor Hange too. Not to become a hero, like Gabi claimed they would, but simply to repay for all the kindness she had bestowed upon them.
"Of course, I know about candies," he muttered. "You weren't the only one Hange-san shared them with."
"Huh," Gabi raised her chin, that self-contained smirk blooming on her lips. "I thought she only gave them to me. I was her favorite one, after all."
"You weren't even close to being her favorite," Falco rolled his eyes, playfully punching her arm.
He wasn't her favorite too. Hange-san didn't have favorites, or so she said. She said that all of them were equally bright and exceptional, destined for great things in the future. When Professor Hange said it like that - with her eyes burning and staring right at him, Falco could almost believe in himself. He could almost believe he could do whatever he put his mind to.
Professor Hange didn't have favorites, but if she had, it definitely would have been Udo. The smart, fierce Udo, Hange simply adored him. When asked, she told that he reminded her of an old friend. She never went into any details, but her smile seemed to be just a little bit gentler at the mention of that mysterious friend. And her eyes – they became just a little bit sadder.
After that question, she was quick to change the subject, turning all of the attention back to Udo.
"Just look at those cheeks," she always cooed, pinching them between her fingers. "So puffy and cute!"
Under her touch, Udo's cheeks always turned red as a tomato. However, as fierce as he could sometimes be, he never - ever - attempted to get away from her. He didn’t even complain or mumble that she was embarrassing him.
Professor Hange was just that kind of a person. It was almost impossible not to like her.
"I think I hear some voices," Gabi whispered into his ear.
Falco nodded, squeezing her hand just a little tighter. "Be quiet," he warned.
Gabi narrowed her eyes at him accusingly, but didn't retort, keeping quiet just as Falco advised.
The stairs were right before them and they started to slowly climb up, stopping at each step to make sure they remained undetected.
The voices grew louder, and soon one of them became distinguishable.
It was Professor Hange's voice. They both realized it at the same moment.
Gabi beamed, but Falco frowned.
Something was wrong.
The tone of her voice... It wasn't angry or scared or defying.
It was kind, gentle. Caring.
It was the same voice Hange always used with them.
"Gabi!" he meant to grab her and take her away, before she discovered the truth.
But Gabi was too fast, Gabi was too excited— she skipped to the edge of the stairs and reached a large wooden door. Glancing back at Falco, she winked and swiftly squeezed through the door.
Falco hurried after her. He couldn't let Gabi see what he just had discovered. If she did... it wouldn't be pretty.
He walked through the door, entering the narrow dark hallway. There seemed to be no guards here, but Gabi still tensed, slowing her step and allowing Falco to catch up with her.
The closest cell to the door was empty, second one - too. It was the third cell that voices were coming from.
Professor Hange wasn't the only one talking, from what Falco could hear, there were approximately three other people with her as well.
"Gabi," Falco murmured, grasping her hand. "Gabi, maybe, we should go back—"
He wasn't fast enough. Gabi took another step and from there she could clearly see the inside of the cell.
Just as Falco had thought, Hange-san wasn't alone. On one side of the table two men sat - one small with short light hair and one tall and long-faced. On the other side was Professor Hange herself and beside her— a girl, brown-haired and lean.
The same girl Gabi had failed to kill.
Professor Hange was smiling - all of them were, but they were talking in low voices, too quiet to decipher the words. The conversation wasn't a tense one, though, it was obvious. It became even more apparent when Professor Hange raised her hand and ruffled the girl's hair, smiling gently all the while.
That gesture— Falco had seen her do it so many times before. She used to raffle his hair, Gabi’s, Zophia’s and Udo’s.
But it seemed like they weren’t the only ones, who were lucky enough to receive affection from her.
It seemed that, maybe, Professor Hange wasn’t as loyal to Marley as she had always claimed to be.
Gabi gasped, and Falco moved, clasping a hand over her mouth and dragging her a few steps back.
She didn't protest, staring at the scene in front her with shocked, glassy eyes.
"Devils," she mumbled against Falco's hand.
"Let's get out of here," he whispered and led Gabi back to where they came from.
It took them hours of crawling around to finally find the unguarded exit. Gabi was suspiciously quiet the whole time, and the eerie silence made Falco even more nervous.
He didn't dare to start a conversation, though, knowing that one wrong word, one wrong move and Gabi would tip over the edge.
And she did, the moment they were out of the prison and away from its grounds.
"How could she!" she roared, kicking the nearest tree. "How could she betray us like this? And for who? Those devils?" she turned to him then, eyes wild. "See, that's why you should never trust them! They tricked her, they fooled her, I'm sure! We can't trust Hange-san too. And Zeke - he might be with them as well. Falco," she took a shuddering breath and then looked up at the towering forest in front of them. "From now on, we can't trust anyone, but ourselves."

CHAPTER 139 THOUGHTS!!!
‼️ After this line if you do not want to see any spoilers please do not keep reading! ‼️
First things first, I had already read the spoilers, leaks, and the “official” release but haven’t had time to correlate my thoughts together because of my exam + the utter emotional DISTRAUGHT I felt knowing SnK had ended. That plus my initial reaction to the spoilers and chapter was not good. I actually was furious at it but now that i’ve had enough time to process here are my THOUGHTS!
FIRST THINGS FIRST THE OPENING The beginning of getting answers from Eren. Finally. Overall knowing that it was Armin’s point of view we saw from was pretty fitting knowing how close those two have been since childhood. Before even Mikasa was Armin. That will always be true.
Tumblr media
Through the course of their talk, I felt really uncomfortable like I know something was off. It didn’t feel like Eren, from everything he said to the way he had explained away his actions
But after processing it for a while, just like everyone else, we as the readers didn’t know the true Eren. Yes he is a passionate loving head strong person but we kind of forgotten that in the end, he really was just a kid.
Tumblr media
Eren was burdened with war. He’s been burdened since the day he was born and we all knew that. HE LOOKS SO PRETTY HERE. But It broke my heart knowing no matter what choices he made, he would always end up back here.
Tumblr media
Man THIS. THIS IS THE MOST HUMAN REACTION. I heard this was a mistranslation and that he just says that he doesnt want to be forgotten which makes sense because HELLO MIKASA HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE PERSON TO TAKE CARE OF HIM!! Eren is HUMAN and hes a 19 year old boy. He deserves to want to live.
This parallels the opening scene of the manga where Carla gets eaten and although she sacrifices herself, she had wanted to live. She didnt want to be abandoned.
Tumblr media
I dont know why Armin made me mad here HDISJIDJS I know he has no memory of what happened but DAMN YOUR BOY JUST COMMITTED GENOCIDE HOMIE!! Still I cried so I don’t even know why i’m complaining. This broke my heart to pieces. EMA best trip
Tumblr media
Okay so realistically them being all heart broken over eren makes little to no sense but knowing that he reached out to talk and explain to each of them his motives and just what was happening HURTS ME. IT HURTS. EREN KNEW EVERYTHING. HE LOVED EACH OF THEM SO DEEPLY PLAYED THE VILLAIN ROLE AND (WITH MIKASA) BROKE THE CURSE. I’m so sad. Just knowing he took the brunt of everyone’s anger only to become some sort of shackled poster villain is so sad.
Tumblr media
THIS LEADING UP TO MY NEXT BIT. Levi deserves his rest. He deserves this. Oh man I cried tears of joy knowing he’s alive. But thinking that Eren had pulled him aside too, I want to know what they’re talk was like. What did they say to each other? Levi and Eren had one of the most riveting complex relationships in the manga. MY CURIOSITY AHH maybe Isayama left it up to the readers knowing that? Who knows.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
AWW HISTORIA’S BABY!!! And everyone kind of aligning themselves together makes me happy. Warriors and Survey corps TOGETHA!! Man. The fact that Eren entrusted them with the world still leaves a heavy feeling in my heart. The boy who wanted to live needed to die. My baby boy.
Tumblr media
THIS SCENE!! okay the cuteness of Gabi and Falco Aside, Levi finally being able to REST!! YESSS LETS GO I LOVE YOU KING!! Him looking up like thay makes me feel like he’s remembering Eren. I don’t have a solid reason. I just like to think that.
Tumblr media
Man. MIKASA LITERALLY DESERVES THE WORLD. I feel the pain she has with the loss of Eren. It hurts deep. It literally had me crying in my bed. Knowing that he died and how will always haunt me. But dude Mikasa. The things she went through. I hope she’ll move on or learn to be happy in a world that Eren’s no longer in. Those two wanting to be with each other even when they couldn’t is seriously tragic. Whether platonic or romantic, Eren and Mikasa have such a deep relationship.
ANYWAY THATS EVERYTHING!!
I’m still in pain but the thing about AoT is that all those plot holes, we end up filling with our own theories and fixing with our own fix-it fics/aus. Seriously it wasn’t the worst ending and who’s to say we can’t come up with our own happy ending?

Gabi Braun- the blinded warrior [Character Talk]
Up until now we had characters that had a charming side despite their different roles such as Tsukasa Yugi being an antagonist and Todo Aoi who is a rival yet mentor at the same time.
But in today's blogpost things will be a bit different, since the character we are going to talk about is someone who is hated among the fandom for several reasons yet a very important role for the series and also the viewer to understand a concept of Shingeki no Kyojin.
The character mentioned here is none other than Gabi Braun, Eldian blood but a proud follower and warrior of Marley who seeks to eradicate the people of Paradis Island and atone for the sins of her ancestors.
This post will contain major spoilers for the anime series, it will not go further than season 4 part 1, for those who are still watching it read at your own risk.
With that said, let’s get started on the passionate child blinded by war.
Introduction
Tumblr media
The fearless warrior with strong idealistic values appears in the final season for the first time and starts her screen-time in Episode one right away.
An Eldian young girl around the age of 12 born in the Liberio internment zone and raised there. She is the cousin of Reiner Braun and also the candidate who is most likely to be chosen to inherit the Armored Titan due to her great achievements and strong will to get rid of the Paradis Island. She views herself and her fellow Eldians as “true Eldians”.
Risking her life several times when even grown men show fear and also being very intelligent when it comes to battlefield matters, Gabi took out a train on her own in order to save her fellow soldiers.
Not only that but she does not fear facing the survey corps all on her own, climbing up the airship while many Marley soldiers were killed by those very enemies she tried to face alone as shown when she still managed to kill Sasha despite being surrounded.
As a child she may look innocent to others but her being a warrior-candidate implies that she stands out of the masses, not only among her peers but also grown soldiers and high-ranked officers.
The character
Tumblr media
From the beginning it is clear that Gabi does not fear anything as long as she can successfully achieve victory and she does that in the perfect manner that is to be expected from her. Yet it seems she always surpasses the expectations from the higher-ups which earned her the most advantage to be chosen to inherit the Armored Titan power, as we saw her even throwing away her clothes and rushing in while a mass of soldiers feared to step forward to face the train.
Despite that she also shows natural leadership traits as she is very assertive when it comes to her own ideals and goals, is also a trait that makes her very reckless and over-domineering not listening to others opinions and trying to force her own thoughts upon them.
She is very dense when it comes to daily matters or things that are mostly usual for children in her age, for example when Falco openly shows his affection and worries towards her she does not understand them as romantic feelings but rather sees him as a competitor while everyone around her already took the hint that Falco has a crush on her.
Her hatred towards the Paradis Island Eldians shows no limits as she doesn’t show any regret in killing any of them as seen when she killed Sasha on the airship and being surrounded by those who loved her dearly, even when being confronted with her deed and being seen as a heartless monster she does not flinch away nor does her way of thinking change.
It is seen that she was successfully manipulated by the false story of her ancestors that Marley uses in order to brainwash warrior-candidates and not only that, also with fear and even death when not showing loyalty towards Marley and acknowledging the fact that Eldians are a sinful folk. But Gabi on the other hand does not fear death or question her own loyalty it’s quite the opposite she is proud to be a “true Eldian” who could serve Marley and bring peace to her “homeland” by inheriting the Titan power and eradicating the people of Paradis Island.
Through that Gabi’s thoughts align with those of Marley and we see her mostly act upon her hatred and not on her own common sense which she seems to lack in many points throughout the events of the final season. It makes her a self-righteous brat that justifies her own actions and even kills civilians' lives based on that firm belief, which unlike Falco made her want to fight them despite being imprisoned on the island.
Core role as a character
Tumblr media
As we now know much more about Gabi’s character it’s easy to assess which role she has in the series despite being stamped as a support character.
If we view the series from the perspective we have encountered up until the final season she is viewed as an antagonist of the Paradis Island citizens, especially Eren Jaeger.
Not only that but she is the representation of innocent children or at least despite the circumstances of war and its harshness, when it comes to Gabi being a full-fledged warrior other people still view her as such. Being brainwashed through the propagation of Marley’s ideals stripped her away from her own ability to form an opinion on who should be her ally and who should be her enemy. Showing that very innocence of not being able to distinguish on her own and being very trusting towards the “adults” who forced her will to become something that she didn’t decide on her own in the first place.
The way that Gabi views the world in a much simplified manner as seen, her own kind being the good people and the others being the bad still shows the naivety within her.
On the other hand due to her extreme way of thinking and perspective the viewer is able to understand the actual conflict in the world of Shingeki no Kyojin since Marley, Eldian and Paradis Island are all terms that were mentioned at the end of season three leaving behind great confusion about the general problems mentioned by Grisha Jaeger. Not only that but since the story was told from the perspective of the Subjects of Ymir up until that point who lived at that isolated island clueless about the outside, Gabi is on the other side of the story, being Eldian herself yet not recognizing her fellow Eldians who are corrupted in her eyes.
Importance in series
Tumblr media
With the things up until now we can tell that Gabi plays a valuable role in this series not only causing the death of Sasha that caused many consequences even within the survey corps, but also shows the stark contrast of environmental influence and how much control government and propaganda can have on a mere child. A one-sided view of war not questioning a bit if the enemies are truly “devils” or not but following the manipulation.
Despite her being Eldian as well she blindly follows the Marley government in order to rank high and gain status along with her family to become a honorary Marley citizen.
Yet this thin line between enemies and oneself was even made clear to one of the most loyal and blinded warriors, Gabi Braun as she was imprisoned within Paradis Island along with Falco. After escaping when the Blouse family took them in and cared after them for the time being Gabi is seen to stay adamant that those before her are still her enemies and not to be trusted, as she despite the things she was taught and blinded with is surprised to see that it’s far different than what Marley taught her.
It’s the beginning where expectations and reality meet in front of her, as a heated discussion between her and Kaya revealed that Gabi blamed them for the sins that the Eldian Empire used to do are being now repaid so they deserve to suffer as Kaya mentioned her mother was also eaten by a Titan. Flaco explains that the government used the destroyed village Kaya grew up in was destroyed due to a test of strength, it is also revealed later on that Sasha was the one who saved her.
Even after knowing about Gabi’s und Falco’s identity Kaya goes her way to help them and sends them to a restaurant where a Marleyan chef works at and lead them to a possible escape route, to Gabi’s surprise the friendliness of Kaya despite her knowing their identities took her back, a first indication that started to change her tiny bit shaking that false one-sided view of war that everyone on the other side is evil.
Soon enough Gabi starts facing the true consequences of having killed Sasha as she proudly boasts to Nicholo, the Marleyan chef, that she killed her being immensely proud of it before the latter attacks her and almost kills her, telling her he was in love with Sasha despite that he was Marleyan.
Mr and Mrs. Blouse along with Kaya, finally get to know that Gabi is the real killer of Sasha Blouse and their demeanor changes when her and Falco’s identities are revealed. Now the killing was different for Gabi.
It showed her change and view being shifted that the so-called corrupted Eldians on this island who lived along with some Marleyans weren’t what she expected. She saw reality unfold and the killing she did this time, which seemed natural up until that point, was now a heavy burden and even endangered Falco’s life on her own accord.
Being faced with the horrifying reality and confusing revelations that her actions could have been with no meaning or even wrong she represents many people in our own world who went through the same.
Acting blindly without giving others a chance to justify themselves or heavily act upon own beliefs seeing them as absolute, from a fearless blinded soldier to a shaking child who finally understood that her simple world may not be so simple anymore, as the feeling of losing Falco may have been felt by many others whose lives she took.
What makes the character so interesting?
Tumblr media
Despite that many people hate Gabi she is a very important character who shows us the opposition of the story we saw up until now, Sasha who was a beloved character not only among the fandom but also among the Paradis island people getting killed due to Gabi being a child and therefore hesitating lead her to her death.
Yet we saw snippets of Reiner’s journey, Gabi is just going through a similar one as she is at a point where she is unsure and lost her determination that she once had not being able to trust anything anymore that what she was taught.
As Gabi is being hated by many for her behaviour it is actually a bit more complicated than her being a warrior who takes people’s lives due to her beliefs, one has to consider that Gabi is about 12 years old and on top of that not only her parents and cousin but also herself grew up with that behaviour and rooted hate deep inside of her, something that cannot be unhinged when considering that she is a warrior-candidate carefully chosen by the Marley military making her the perfect puppet that she is supposed to be.
Her being heartless when it comes to her wrongful actions but in the end she was just a child facing consequences and getting her simple world turned upside-down after realizing that all her killing is coming back to her when she is about to lose Falco. Being raised to be the best and honorary when following Marley but also seeing her closest friend almost dying due to her own actions that seemed wrong in the first place, it’s a heavy responsibility laid into a child’s hands.
As every child learns that actions have consequences at some point, Gabi also learned it through a different and much bigger incident. The wonder child who had a big future ahead of her is no longer as amazing as she opened her eyes to the world around her for the first time.
Simply said, many hate Gabi for the things she did, yet not consider where she came from and how she was raised. It doesn’t justify her actions in any way but it’s a point that should not be overseen as it happened in history already many times.
Gabi Braun the blinded warrior opened her eyes for the first time and that’s the time she realized she was a mere helpless child in the first place, pulled by the strings of Marley.

While i do know Gabi did eventually change ( thankfully) i think my general dislike came from her over the top hatred of the eldians ( her own people) and her worship of the people who oppressed her people.
Also the reason i mentioned the older warriors..Annie, Bertholt, and Reiner was because by the time we as readers saw who they really were.. they were already so conflicted about if they were right or not they were literally forgetting who they actually were, even when Bertholt called them devils its seems like he didn't believe it himself. Annie even cried when they had to kill Marco.
It might be because we already knew these characters and they never seemed hostile or bad people then when they did reveal themselves they were on the fence about it all and seemed to hate the position they were in, they were already seeing how horrible it all was and it tore them up to follow through with their plan. So thats probably why its easier with those three..
But when we first meet Gabi.. She was so up in your face with her dislike of her own race.. She very vocal about it when technically she was no different. She just seems so self hating and it rubs me the wrong way. We never really saw that blind eldian hatred from Annie, Bertholt and Reiner. Bertholt and Reiner i felt started self loathing not because they are eldian but because they realized the were wrong and were betraying their friends.
Also with Falco and the other candidates they were more calm about the whole thing and seemed to be just going with the flow and following orders to survive and hopefully better their family situation to not be seen in a negative light any longer.
But Gabi seemed different right from the get go she really believed her race were actual devils.. She seemed so self hating that she was willing to turn into the very thing that made her people devils and hated and ostracized in the first place.
But at the same time she came off as self righteous, due to her believing she ( even though she was also a "devil") that she was special enough to be one of the exceptions. Like i said the others weren't all in your face about it like she was...maybe that's what makes her more unlikable.
While i do know Gabi did eventually change ( thankfully) i think my general dislike came from her over the top hatred of the eldians ( her own people) and her worship of the people who oppressed her people.
I certainly agree with the fact that Gabi's hatred of the Paradis Eldians was a lot more prominent than any other warrior, so readers obviously have more opportunities to call her out on her bullshit since she displayed her anti Paradis attitude a lot more frequently than the other warriors did. I just don't like it when people hate on her for being stubborn, stupid, gullible etc, all while giving the older warriors a pass, despite the fact that Gabi actually came to doubt her beliefs far sooner than they all did.
Furthermore, I wouldn't say that Gabi worshiped the Marleyans. Everything she did, she did for the sake of the Eldians on Marley who she was made to believe were the "good" Eldians. She wasn't striving to become a warrior out of love for the Marleyan people, she was doing so in order to free her fellow Eldians from the Internment Zone. They were her motivation, not Marley.
I understand in that sense, that it's easier to hate on Gabi for her views because that was your first impression of her, whereas with the other warriors, we got to know them as scouts before we knew them as the Marleyan warriors. I suppose it just grates on me a little bit because but it's still obviously unfair to throw more hate in Gabi's direction due to first impressions. All of their inner conflict came years later, Gabi's came after weeks. Yes, her hatred was a lot more pronounced which made her an easy target for reader discontent, but that's not only because her convictions were always a lot greater than their's (which is an admirable trait to have), but also because Gabi's hatred was being targeted towards characters we had grown to love, so it may also be a matter of perspective there. If we had been following Gabi and her peers since the beginning rather than the Survey Corps, I would love to see the drastic shift in her support.
It might be because we already knew these characters and they never seemed hostile or bad people then when they did reveal themselves they were on the fence about it all and seemed to hate the position they were in, they were already seeing how horrible it all was and it tore them up to follow through with their plan. So thats probably why its easier with those three..
Yeah, nothing more needs to be said really. Gabi was put in the unfortunate position of being introduced as being really passionate about the very harmful and prejudiced ideals she was brainwashed into believing, and this was at a time when the readers were all fully aware of what was going on. Therefore, it was really easy to get frustrated with her for believing what we all knew to be lies. I just don't think it's fair that Gabi gets far more hate for this than any of the older warriors, despite her coming to terms with the truth a lot sooner than they did. This is especially true when we consider just how determined and adamant about it she was as well. She displayed more tenacity towards her objectives and belief in the Marleyan brainwashing than any other warrior apart from maybe Reiner, and yet she came to terms with the truth a lot quicker than all of them other than Falco. I think she deserves plaudits for that.
I understand and agree with the point of finding it easier to criticise Gabi due to how vocal she was about her hatred for the Paradis Eldians. However, we did see that type of brainwashed infused hatred from Reiner, we just didn't have the opportunity to see it as much with him or any of the older warriors because the main story began after they had already started questioning themselves. That just links back my point regarding Gabi being put into an unfortunate position due to being introduced that way so late on.
Also with Falco and the other candidates they were more calm about the whole thing and seemed to be just going with the flow and following orders to survive and hopefully better their family situation to not be seen in a negative light any longer.
They were definitely a lot calmer, no arguments there, and that just goes back to my point regarding the strength of Gabi's convictions. She and Eren had frightening levels of drive and motivation, but many fans didn't give her the credit she was due for that, simply because her motivations were towards a goal that was in opposition to the Paradis Eldians who we had grown attached to. If we had been seeing things from her perspective since the beginning, I'm all but certain that her fierce convictions would have garnered her praise, rather than near universal hatred from the fandom.
She was wiling to cross no man's land into enemy territory by herself, with nothing but hand grenades, in order to disable the armoured train, so that the 800 Eldians in the bunker didn't have to sacrifice themselves during the war.
She was willing to sacrifice herself to board the Paradis aircraft by herself, to get some measure of revenge in honour of her home town, which had just been devastated into oblivion.
If we just detach Gabi's character from her initial hatred of the Paradis Eldians, and observe these feats of mental fortitude, it is actually quite remarkable that her sense of purpose towards the Eldians on Marley and her home, was that strong.
But Gabi seemed different right from the get go she really believed her race were actual devils.. She seemed so self hating that she was willing to turn into the very thing that made her people devils and hated and ostracized in the first place.
As far as we know, apart from Falco, they all really believed that the Paradis Eldians were devils. She was more vocal about it, but I wouldn't say that she was any different. It also didn't help that probably every time a slight hint of doubt would accidentally creep into Gabi's mind, like when Reiner unwittingly described Paradis island as having many kinds of people rather than them being all bad, and Gabi questioned this, she had her aunt right there to ensure that she kept on believing what Marley wanted them to believe.
But at the same time she came off as self righteous, due to her believing she ( even though she was also a "devil") that she was special enough to be one of the exceptions. Like i said the others weren't all in your face about it like she was...maybe that's what makes her more unlikable.
But that self righteousness that you're speaking of was a direct result of Marley's brainwashing. That wasn't something that she innately thought or naturally believed. Gabi believed that she was an exception to the Paradis Eldians because that's what she had been taught. That's why I can't really hate on her for that - because she was conditioned to think this way.
I definitely understand how frustrating it often was to listen to her spout shit about the "Eldian Devils" every other sentence, but I suppose I just found it a lot easier than most fans to separate the unnatural traits of her character that were drilled into her by the Marleyan brainwashing (like her belief that she was different from the Paradis Eldians), from the natural traits of her character that were always part of who she truly is (like her love for her home Liberio, her Eldian comrades on Marley, and her fiercely powerful convictions).

Third Birthday’s A Charm
Tumblr media
Fandom: Vikings
Pairing: Halfdan x OC (Gaby)
Genre: Modern AU, Romance, Smut-ish
Words: 1794
Warnings: Well, there is a little bit of smut.
Summary: Gaby is not the only one who can make a wish for her birthday.
A/N: This is a birthday gift for my other half, @naaladareia  Honey, you are such a kind-hearted and caring person, always there to listen. I wish you the best for your very special day. I love you.
A/N 2: This is the continuation of a little series so if you are interested in reading the first two installments: Part I - Part II
Halfdan woke up at the sound of something crashing on the ground followed by a loud gasp. He groaned and rolled on the side. The floor under his body was different from was he was used to. He blinked a few times and opened his eyes to close them back instantly. There was definitely too much sun here.
“What..what are you doing here?” A feminine voice stuttered.
It was something distant and yet, very familiar. His eyes opened again and abruptly sat up on the floor. He remembered where he was by now – or rather, when he was.
He looked up at the woman who had been in his thoughts for a while. Her jaw was opened, her eyes wide, her hair slightly disheveled and she was wearing some large loose shirt which let her legs show. He smirked.
“Hello!” He rasped.
She seemed to process his word and finally greeted him back. She bent down to gather the broken pieces of the weirdly bright colored pot she had certainly been holding in her hands before dropping it when she spotted him. She left for a few seconds and came back with a wet cloth to wash the liquid that was spilled on her odd floor. When she was done, she gave him a shy look.
“Not that I’m complaining, but what are you doing here? How did you come?”
Halfdan smiled and stood up. “Don’t you celebrate the day you were born today? I thought it was a pattern for us to meet on that special occasion.”
“Maybe…I did not make any wish this time, though.”
“You have your ways, I have mine”. He answered in an enigmatic tone but she was still curious.
“Magic, I guess?”
He nodded. “Of some sort.”
“Why are you here?” She asked, extremely confused.
He approached her, extending a hand to play with a strand of her hair. He scrutinized her face since he did not have to pleasure to do so during the former two times they had met. It seemed so soft and spotless, quite different from the women he knew. It was also very inviting so his hand let go of her hair to run along her cheek.
“I have to admit I was highly suspicious of you at first but when you mentioned something about your birthday wish, I figured the Gods wants us to meet. It was fate.”
She put her hand on his, he got closer as he kept explaining himself. “I went to the Seer who told me my adventurous destiny was waiting for me much further than I thought. It was not the first time he said those words but I always thought I was made to discover every new land until I had reached my destination. Now, I understand what he was meaning.”
Her eyes widened. “Are you saying you are here to stay?”
He shrugged nonchalantly. “That’s up to the Gods and their mysterious ways. We should enjoy it while we can.”
He pecked her lips. “You got any food? I’m starving.”
                                        ¤     ¤
Gaby filled the dishwasher while Halfdan was relaxing on her couch after stuffing his face with the brunch she had prepared: eggs, ham, cheese, potatoes with juice, coffee and tea, that he happened to like more.
She could not help pinching her skin again. Having a Viking in her home could not possibly be true and yet, here he was…and maybe for a long time. It would take a while for him to adjust since he was watching every object around him suspiciously but he was an adventurer so she was certain he would manage in the end.
“What are the plans for today?”
His voice almost made her jump. She had not heard him at all, too lost in her thoughts.
“Nothing special.” She replied. “A nice bath to relax, I’ll probably bake some birthday cake and then I’ll cook some pasta dish for dinner.”
“No big celebration? Nobody is coming here?”
“It is…quite difficult nowadays. To make a long story short, there is some kind of plague going on. We can’t really visit each other and all the places when where we can eat and drink are closed, as well as cinemas or museum.”
He frowned. “What are those?”
“Places to have some fun.” She did not really want to get into the details since she was not ever sure he would go there once. “I could offer you to go outside but we will have to wear a mask.”
Halfdan let out a disgusted sound when she pointed at the numerous masks lying on her cupboard. “No, thank you. I might be up for a bath, though. Shall we?”
“Together?” She squeaked in spite of herself.
“Well, of course”. He eyed her up and down. “Besides it’s not like I have not seen it all before.”
Gaby felt herself blushing like an innocent teenage girl even though the idea of sharing a bath with him was very tempting.
She led Halfdan to her bathroom where he looked everywhere with wide eyes. It gave her time to prepare the bath, adding some lavender bubble bath and relaxing oil. She turned off the water when there was enough and looked at him shyly again. “Bath is ready.”
Halfdan started at the foam suspiciously before getting undressed, and dipped in. Gaby did the same, trying to ignore the fact that he was ogling her shamelessly. The water had a relaxing effect on her and she leaned back against the tub. On the opposite side, Hafldan mimicked her actions.
“Relaxing, isn’t it?”
“It is…how long do we have to stay here?”
Gaby laughed. “Impatient, are we?”
“I’m just not used to laziness, that’s all.” He bit back teasingly.
She threw some water at him playfully. Halfdan suddenly leaned forwards and pulled her against him. She immediately felt his hardness. Her breath hitched as his hand travelled down her back, her ass and her thigh that he grabbed to make her straddle him. He slid into her with a deep sigh. Gaby’s head tilted backwards in pleasure.
“I guess I could get used to this type of laziness.” He rasped before moving in and out of her.
Gaby gripped his shoulders to steady herself and meet his thrusts. The water splashed gently against the tub and soon, only the sound of their lovemaking could be heard.
                                         ¤     ¤
After their steamy sexual encounter, they got out of the tub. Gaby gave Halfdan more comfortable clothes that her ex-boyfriend had left in her apartment. It was really confusing to see him wearing some pants and a tee-shirt with his warrior demeanor. It was also very charming if she was honest with herself.
Later, he helped her bake her chocolate birthday cake – well, more like created a mess in her kitchen – but they had fun. Gaby was happy to fall into some sort of domestic life with him. It had been a long time and it felt nice to have someone around her during those very particular times.
Halfdan talked to her about some of his travels and raids. She winced at some of the most gruesome details but enjoyed every word. After all, it was as if she was watching a live documentary about Vikings. Only, it was better than television, better than the show she had enjoyed watching so much. To her surprise, Halfdan was a great story teller, very passionate and entertaining. He was answering all of her questions, pleased to see she was interested in everything he had to tell.
Dinner time came quickly. Halfdan devoured the pasta Gaby had prepared and then watched her blow the candles on her birthday cake.
“What did you wish for this time?”
She smiled. “It will not come true if I tell you.”
He rolled his eyes at her answer. A playful smile suddenly curved his lips upwards. “I am here. What more could you ask for?”
It was her turn to roll her eyes at his cockiness. “Of course. Still, I will not tell you my wish, you sexy murderous Viking.”
His smile widened. “You like calling me that, don’t you? I remember you saying it last time.”
“You remember too many things.” She mumbled under her breath.
Halfdan chuckled. “My brother keeps telling me that.”
Gaby suddenly frowned, thinking of Harald. “Does he know you are here?”
“I told him everything, of course.”
“And he let you leave?” From what she knew of Harald, he was quite possessive when his brother was concerned.
“My brother has his own destiny and I have mine.” He smiled. “To be truthful, he was more inclined to let me leave because he knew it was about a woman. Helpless romantic! I only hope none of them will try and kill him while I’m gone, no matter how long it is.”
Gaby felt a slight pang in her chest when he reminded her that there was a slight chance for him to disappear one day, just as fast as he had arrived. Halfdan sensed her sudden mood change and rose up from his chair to join her. He made her stand up before attacking her lips with a kiss that left them both breathless. They exchanged a lustful gaze.
“Why don’t you show me how sexy you think I am in that oddly over comfortable bed of yours?”
How could she say no to such a proposition?
First, she cleaned up everything while Halfdan was trying to get familiar with his new surroundings and was purposely avoiding the television, a television that he had almost destroyed when she had turned it on to show him what it was. He would definitely need more time with new technology.
When she was done, the two of them went to bed where they had sex and talked some more about Halfdan’s adventures. He held her in his arms. Gaby was happy to have spent another special and eventful birthday for the third time but also worried that there was a possibility he might not be here tomorrow when she would wake up.
Before falling asleep though, she remembered Halfdan’s earlier words. We should enjoy it while we can. He was right. For the moment he was there with her, maybe for a day or maybe for ten years but either way, they seemed to share some special bond as if their destinies were linked. It meant that no matter what happened, they would always find each other again.

Snk 136, 3 chapters to go
The final countdown begins. I am not ready.
There’s.....a lot to process, and I’m not emotionally ready for the conclusion. I know it is going to make me cry no matter what. Isayama has made considerable mistakes over the years, both in terms of his own ignorance re: History and Politics and choices in metaphors to use.
But this series, flawed and problematic as it is, still manages to stun me every month.
The central argument remains with the issue of having to deal with Eren.
To Mikasa, he is family. The boy that saved her, that inspired her to fight for herself, and that wrapped a scarf around her neck when she was cold and alone. The one that gave her a home and a family. But Adult Mikasa has been increasingly forced to confront the ugliness, the violence and hatred inherent to Eren. To peel away the idealized version of events, and see Eren for the murderous, self-righteous person he actually is. Someone that could murder another person in cold blood, while declaring that they weren’t a person. Someone capable of murdering innocent children. Someone capable of slaughtering the entire world.
She doesn’t want to kill him, even with no other options available. Annie gives her the easy way out, by suggesting that she focus on rescuing Armin. Give her something that she can do, that she won’t feel conflicted about. Save your friend. Let other people do the dirty work.
But everyone else seems to have accepted what has to be done. Eren cannot be allowed to live. To save the world, he has to die. As Reiner once said, he is the worst person in the world to hold that power. He’s using it to commit genocide.
Even with the world literally fucking ending, some people don’t seem ready to let go of their bigotry. Eldian refugees and Marleyan soldiers end up pointing guns at each other, while the Rumbling is literally on their doorstep. They are all about to die, but some people are not willing to abandon the old way of things. We’re left with a cliffhanger, left to wonder if the people that survived the destruction of Liberio will die at each other’s hands.
Gabi has come such an incredibly long way. She has in many ways become the Anti-Eren, and it has been a fascinating journey to watch their parallel paths. Gabi started out as basically “Girl Eren from the other side”, a passionate youth indoctrinated into a fantasy of saving/freeing humanity while destroying all the monsters. And like Eren, she watches her home get attacked by a Titan and swears revenge. She rampages and lashes out, she kills Sasha, and she’s captured by the enemy. But then their paths diverge, as Gabi learns the most important lesson. She learns that everyone is the same, she learns of the tragedies suffered by the other side, and she experiences compassion. She is for the first time treated as a CHILD to be protected, as opposed to a disposable soldier. The people she hated, the friends of a woman she killed, embrace her and swear to protect her because she is 12 years old. Because she is a CHILD, and it matters to them that she be protected as they were not.
She saw the Centipede-thing that is the Founder emerge from Eren, and she realizes this thing is the key. Who knows what will come from that. But either way, it’s....yeah. I like Gabi. I know she’s a huge target of fandom hate and rage, but damn has this kid undergone an incredible journey.
Which brings us to what I think is this chapter’s MVP:
OUR QUEEN AND BEST GIRL, PIECK. (why the fuck is her name “Finger” like whut?)
Pieck charging down the spear used to impale her Titan, transforming and then abandoning her Titan as soon as she’s attacked. Discarding Titan bodies and transforming over, and over, and over. She isn’t just a support Unit, she’s a Warrior in and of herself with unlimited stamina. She might not be able to tank damage like some of the others, but no one can compare to her in terms of Stamina. She can literally fight for months in her Titan, and she has no apparent limits on how many times she can transform. As long as her tiny, human body remains intact.....she isn’t going to give up.
Our girl that started out just funny and quirky, has emerged as such a brilliant and determined force. She’s wise beyond her years, and has such unique strength in terms of figuring out what needs to be done and doing it.
I fear for her survival in this finale, but man. Pieck is amazing.
Which leads us to our final big thing in the chapter.
Armin, who falls back into the old pattern of raging at himself for being weak and useless. He screams at his own body to move, to do something, to save people. He sees all his past failures.....and then he realizes there’s more going on. He’s not dead, he’s in the Paths. He’s been drawn into the center of this entire battle, finding Zeke as the new Slave that must constantly build the Titans from sand. Doomed to take Ymir’s place, as punishment for trying to use her.
Which means Armin has been placed into an ideal location for his talents. The Colossal Titan might be a God of Destruction, but Armin’s greatest strength has always been in his ability to deal with other people. To convince. To inspire. To manipulate. To reach.
Again and again, one phrase and idea has come up. The regret of not being able to talk to each other.
Now, Armin has been placed into an ideal location to reach the people in control. To reach Zeke, forming the endless Titan army. To reach Eren and Ymir, who are controlling the Rumbling.
Armin being the narrator of the anime is not an accident. Eren has repeatedly insisted throughout the series that he isn’t the hero, that ARMIN is the hero. That Armin is the bravest of them all, that he is the one with a beautiful dream of the world. Erwin entrusted him to lead during a vital mission, and Levi saw something in him that reminded him of Erwin before the years and losses destroyed his hope.
Armin will save the world. Not with violence and physical strength. But with the strength of his will, his love for the World, and his clever mind.
