I was finally able to see the final of The Owl House and what to say except that it was epic, a unique experience and that I will miss all these characters (especially you Raine). To make the release of episode 3, my sister wanted to make a special AMV, even if she finished a little after the initial date. In short, enjoy :)

On RWBY, The Amazing Digital Circus and Toxic Indie Fandoms...
Fans of cartoons, animated movies and animation in general have a... bit of a complex. Largely when it come to snubbing a new movie and/or show for not being just like what ever the standard bearer is at the time. A mentality that really hurts critical discussion than help. Like... getting mad at, say, Big City Greens of what Disney pulled with The Owl House is just not cool.
I find it happens a lot with Animation Twitter spaces being all about taking Disney down a peg be it because Spiderverse or Puss In Boots (take your pick at this point). Though in that case, it's a case of one-up-manship getting way too out of hand since there's at least a vocal push back.
With RWBY being pitted against every other indie animation, it's actually not too much of a unique case.
It has been a small scale project getting massive amounts of hype from the pilot (or Trailers as with RWBY's case) only for the show to come out and split its pre-established audience down the middle.
This split starts and widens when it comes to how a character may be initially presented only for more facets to them to be revealed. It should go without saying buuuuuuut the creative team are not mind-readers. Even the most popular of fanworks will inevitably NOT reflect what the show will develop into whether they come close or not.
However, that investment in fanon is liable to clash with what canon goes with. Some fans take it is stride and are willing to hear the showrunners on their direction. Others... take it personally.
Maybe a character that seemed mean but wronged turns out to be a very shitty person.
Maybe a character that seemed shitty has some hidden depths beyond how they initally came across.
Maybe the story is taking a turn that, well, had precedence but feels alienating to those who preferred the previous status quo.
Maybe the pacing feels off with certain reveals that may be a skill issue on the writer's part.
The issues may vary but a lot of this comes from a sort of "bigger they are" type of backlash with a lot of specific expectations formed of the story before there even was one.
Now this might sound like RWBY but... a lot of them were inspired by the polarized comments of Helluva Boss Season 2.
It happening to Vivziepop.
It's happening to RWBY.
And let me tell you, it WILL happen to The Amazing Digital Circus even if it has a limited run planned.
A character will become more than just some fan's blorbo for better or worse and said fans will loose their shit.
A ship will sail however much they wanted sunk.
No matter what, there will always be ONE FAN that will be pissed off.

big fan of the yellowjackets season 2 trailer’s title card designs for the cast and the little hidden meanings in them:
Tumblr media
shauna is an easy one, we see jackie’s necklace in plain view. jackie may not be in season two, but she will continue to haunt shauna in her own ways. plus, it means the necklace’s journey to pit girl is still underway. I also like that the sticks look a bit like a nest, considering there’s a chance shauna might give birth to her doomed baby this season.
Tumblr media
taissa’s card has this very fun double/mirror effect that really focuses on her biggest issue this season, which is this strange dissociation with this other side of herself (that sammy called “the bad one”). there’s a really fun shot of the trailer where her reflection is sentient which is one of my favorite filmmaking tropes (it makes me think of the shot in the movie “Us” where you realize the fun house reflection is a whole other person.)
Tumblr media
I’m not sure about the meaning of the bone shape in taissa’s title card yet, but these and all the bones in the title cards seem to be similar to the weapons they wield during the big fight scene. interestingly enough though, taissa is wielding in axe in this scene:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
axe lesbian and sword lesbian to the rescue...?
Tumblr media
natalie’s design is also very fun, the main detail in hers is the dead bird we see earlier in the trailer. I like that all the characters have had some sort of animal associated with them (deer for lottie, wolves for taissa, rabbits for jackie and eventually shauna.) my guess is natalie’s animal will be the bird.
misty is also often associated with bird symbolism (the owl camera, her pet bird caligula) which like shauna and jackie could just be a good indicator that their stories are intertwined.
I could also make the argument for misty’s animal being a cat, with her cat-themed nurse scrubs and Halloween outfit. It would explain her prey-and-predator relationship with the rats and birds around her (natalie included) from watching the rat in the pool to keeping them trapped in the wilderness right under her paw. her bird-themed secret camera is intended for natalie, so it fits.
the bone shape is interesting too, my first thought was that it almost looks like a heart if you step back enough. natalie’s story is a tragic love story at its core so I think that’s very fitting if so.
Tumblr media
misty’s was a little trickier for me, but I do think the bone weapon on the right looks like an axe which gives me a fun flashback to her iconic axe wielding scene. there’s also a little yellowjacket bug which I think is cute.

Wahoo!
The first trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie dropped, and folks can't wait for Jack Black's Bowser and Charlie Day's Luigi. The new Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo movie finally features a canonically lesbian Velma Dinkley—let's go, lesbians, let's go! The latest episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law included a very familiar face; to say fans were excited would be a massive understatement. Season 3 of Mob Psycho 100 is here, and coincidentally, today is Reigen's birthday. And Tons happened at New York Comic-Con over the weekend! For example, the Neil Gaiman and Good Omens panel gifted us a poster for season 2. This is Tumblr's Week in Review.

Quick little rant y'all can ignore (I just love ranting too much)
Unpopular opinion : it is NOT to be a hipster or to be like "I'M NOT LIKE OTHER GIRLS~" but very often either I will hate or just not be interested to watch at all the newest Tumblr fandom. I really feel like a Tumblrite but sometimes it feels like I just can't enjoy or be hyped by whatever the others are hyped with without doing it on purpose, as if we have nearly no common taste. I mean sure we all are unique and loving everything others we do is boring and impossible and would prove the person is shallow and can't be true, but just, absolutely nearly every big Tumblr fanfavorites annoys me
Superwholock ? Sherlock was nice but not THAT nice and the others never interested me. HH/HB ? Loathe the characters and story. Lackadaisy ? Don't understand the hype. Nimona ? Don't care. She-Ra ? Hated it. The Owl House ? Can't stand the posts on my dashboard nor the charadesigns. Centaurworld ? I know it is one of those things that look lame in the trailer but from what I got gets deeper, but I saw it being so much overhyped I can't. Green Eggs and Ham ? Ugh couldn't it have just been the old cartoon ? Arcane ? The more people said it was revolutionary the less I wanted to check it out. SU ? I used to love it but then it betrayed me with how badly written it endes up to be. SVSFOE ? Except one or 2 arcs it was not my type and the ending infuriated me. Ducktales ? Only season 1 was good to me. Miraculous Ladybug ? It broke my heart so fuck you show. Encanto ? "Narcissic families are ok and misunderstood if they are pretty". Wendell and Wild ? The demons did look interesting and I was curious for them but sadly the main character is insufferable and Idgaf she is sad she is still an asshole but gets away with it. Wednesday ? Tim Burton understood NOTHING avout the Addams Family and flanderized Wesnesday. HtTyD ? Should have been a standalone. LOK and to be fair ANYTHING coming after ATLA books comics and upcoming series included ? Burn em to the ground. Rise of the Guardians ? Seriously the animation is gorgeous but you have the blandest plot and characters ever but everybody calls it original and groundbreaking wtf ?! Arlo the gator boy/I Love Arlo ? Ew it looks ugly as fuck and I am VERY wary of titles that self congratulate (coincidently the Lou! franchise became very shitty when it was renamed into I Love Lou Very Much so it ticks me off) makes me wanna do the contrary and hate Arlo. Carmen San Diego ? Didn't care. The Cuphead Show ? Only season 1a is good 1b and 1c are shit but because "gae devil" everybody loves it holy shit the game is better. Frozen 2 ? Admit it, you liked it ONLY because you see Elsa like a lesbian and wanted to go "HAHA GET FUCKED" to Let It Go. AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON LIVE ACTION REMAKES
Some I even actually just didn't dislike it or care at first but it was seeing all the excessive posting and love for it despite 1) not wanting to watch (I love Arlo, never I wanted to kill a gator child so much force of seeing him on my dash) and/or 2) seeing legetimate problems and flaws and yet everybody ignoring it (Encanto, I hated the end but I did like the movie itself but seeing everybody justifying the end made me loathe it) it turns into hate. But some I hate from the start but seeing everybody love it anyway makes me wonder if at that rate the problem is me and I nitpick too much or of course like everyone I just have my own tastes and what pops up on my dash is not a reflect of universal taste ?
But I often call it a curse because everybody seems to have fun and it's as if I am doomed not to like and it looks like what the audience usually loves is just not my type, which sucks because I don't have many people to vent about it, not many people to gush about the obscure things I love because I am cursed to really invest myself in old fandoms I only find about now or stuff that don't even interest much people but fit my specific niche tastes, dashboards flooded with "OMG GUYS WATCH IT IT IS *SO* IMPORTANT AND THE BEST EVER" making me want not to whereas only 3 likes on posts of franchises I love that are barely known or loved... Probably why I have so many obscure fandoms actually. I am SURE it is subconsciously why I wanted to give a chance to Elemental and Avatar 2 since nobody talked about it in good or at all here !
I am not even sure and just like me those who love these franchises and are part of these fandoms must just have their own specific intersts peaked of course and if so it is absolutely alright ! But often I see they all have a pattern and I feel like, like when I ranted in my posg that defends Elemental, that they will love it and adore it just for ONE element not matter the rest hence why they only talk about that one element that irritates me when I am flooded in posts praising it but really it is just that element. "Omg so much representation" ok cool what is the plot "it is a trans allegory" yes but more precise ? "it is so GAY (affectionate) and girl power !!!" yes but ? The characters ? "Oh the characters are minorities some are LGBT half are POC and some even have a disability and they fight heteronormativity and traditional beauty standards" ok ok I GOT it but what are they like as people !?! "there is a canon gay ship in it I love them little blorbos" I DON'T GIVE A SHIT DAMMIT WHAT IS THE PLOT AND HOW ARE THE CHARACTERS "also it has a varied cast and is made by minorities and women !" Ok bye now I won't be able to help but see it being loved only because of those and not for its story and it will make me bitter about it as if there is nothing else but that to defend because it implies the scenario itself isn't that special for people to only talk about the Christmas present package rather than the content
It is very occasional I will actually get curious because it IS my type thanks to Tumblr : WOY, Pinky and the Brain Undertale, Good Omens, TDC : AOR. It needs to strike a sort of special chord in me to go "uh !?! A modern cartoon that feels like an old cartoon with funny designs and animation and funny characters !??! Uh !?! 2 gay mice that were probably not meant to be gay but they accidentally cracked many eggs in their portrayal and to think I was not interestee when I thought Brain was bidimensional and didn't give a shit about Pinky like I thought ??! Uh !?! Fun skeletons and a macho fish woman with cute pixel style !? Uh !?! Angel and demon are friends and were on Earth for years looking for a kid !?! Uh !?! In that prequel it shows one reformed Skeksis being actually good helping Gelfling and in a relationship with his Mystic ??!" And other Tumblr favorites I loved like idk FNAF, MLP FIM, Spiderverse, Puss in Boots 2, The Bad Guys and usually in general most popular big studios block buster animated movies I loved and others did were stuff I found by myself which Tumblr just coincidently did too so it doesn't count. Some I even discover them years later when the hype died down and nobody speaks about it anymore (reinforcing my idea that IS probably wrong that they don't even really love it but just go "OO SHINY" when something is new and pretty) that I can notice and love years later or at least late a franchise, like I don't wait on purpose I just really discover it at this moment or something peaking my interest only happened recently or peaked my attention now
Those aside most of the time I will really not be interested, a third of the time because "I am told to so I don't wanna" and it has to be myself or it will feel like a chore like when I am recommended stuff IRL I will actually postpone even if if I had not been recommended I would have started watching it earlier (I heard from a friend this looks like a symptom in a type of neurodivergence but I AM NOT SURE), a third of the time it really doesn't look or sound like my type of story at all and I keep wondering why there is nothing new for me and why everybody is so hyped by it, and a third I actually give a try and I end up straight up hating it or just finding it meh and overrated. I just need to find my own fandoms myself, even if they are obscure, that spark my interest, hoping they don't become bad in the end (SU, Ducktales, the Cuphead Show, Miraculous Ladybug etc. Sigh) which happened too many times already and makes me even more wary force of experience about what is popular since even when I myself find it becomes shit people still love it. And of course they totally HAVE the right to never would I harrass and police what people have to like and dislike, but it kind of feels lonely at times and sometimes it makes me think if something is wrong with me not to enjoy what seems to be enjoyed by everyone else and if it is my fault ; and thinking that even makes me anxious and guilty feeling like I am ranting for nothing and people will think I am an attention seeker making me even more gjulty and so on which becomes a vicious circle with my anxiety

It took me a minute to put my thoughts into words, but I think I've got it down for the most part. For a decent chunk of the trailer none of the hex squad are wearing their outfits from For the Future, the most interesting one that everyone is pointing out is Luz in Belos's outfit but they're not the only one. Amity is in her season 2 outfit, Hunter has his golden guard uniform, Gus is in his Grom outfit, and Willow is in the Hexside uniform.
Tumblr media
My theory is that these are the roles that the Collector puts them in, he's been playing "Owl House" the whole time and we see how he wanted to play with the real Eda.

The Owl House season finale trailer analysis, feel free to add anything else :)
The beginning of the trailer starts with Amity's hand, even though she becomes a puppet she can move her hand a little and is trying to activate a glyph
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After that we have a line from Eda from the second ep explaining how magic on witches works, and with that sentence along with the latest images of Gus and Willow holding glyphs, my guess is that the Collector has distorted reality again and made witches no more magic, coming from a child who can move the moon and the sun as if he were moving an ipad, that shouldn't be so difficult
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I also wonder if it has something to do with that huge heart or was it just a non-accidental coincidence
Tumblr media
Luz is wearing Belos' outfit. I'm torn between this being one of the Collector's games (or a punishment of the loser) or if this is a dream of the Luz
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If it's a dream, Luz isn't totally inconsistent because she managed to talk to Amity and Willow ("W: You have to wake up now! L:How? A:You turn the light), my guess is that Luz is dreaming but she can still hear/have contact with other people (like Eda managed to hear her mother in beast mode).
Tumblr media
Or maybe hexsquad ran away and tried to help Light and so were puppetfied?
I think she's almost dreaming (or rather, having a nightmare) precisely because she's wearing Belos' clothes (this could be either one of Luz's biggest fears or how she feels inside, with guilt and self-sabotage) and because the characters' clothes are out of order
Tumblr media
Then we have Eda and King terrified by a moss that must be Belos, because of the eyes. Maybe Belos said something that shocked them but I think his appearance alone is scary enough.
Tumblr media
My guess is that or maybe it's Raine.
Raine was being consumed by half of Belos' moss body. I don't know if he can split himself and stay in two different places, so maybe Raine is being possessed by the palisman parts? And the palismans managed to communicate with Hunter and Luz in Hollow Mind
Tumblr media
Edit: i think they were trying to whistle! probably trying to use magic (or call someone)
Tumblr media
So Lilith was puppetified again.. I understand that decision in the narrative. Even though I love Hooty and Lilith, they are not the protagonists like Luz, Eda and King. And with their help (Harpy Lilith and Hooty) things could be a little easier and we don't want that.
Tumblr media
Luz will try to enter the portal again apparently. Most likely to contact that person in the penultimate episode. I still have my doubts if they are really Titans or Collector's followers
Tumblr media Tumblr media
About the petrified characters, I have two theories: 1. It's the Luz's nightmare. 2. They lost the Collector game and that was their punishment.
Tumblr media
But I don't think the characters will remain petrified forever because: 1.they are not the main cast characters, so these "random characters" being sacrificed out of nowhere doesn't make much sense 2.they had almost no development (precisely because they are not the main cast) so it doesn't have the same weight of them being sacrificed
If it's not a dream, they'll probably be unpetrified, which leads me to have a question: what about the wild witches that were petrified? Will they be able to come back to life?
The penultimate scene has Eda and King and they look different, especially that light in their eyes and mouth. And they're both crying and they look angry too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was having doubts if it was really King and not another titan, but by the bone of the skull it really is him.
But he looks bigger and more fluffy, I wonder if that was a growth spurt or is he in beast mode like Eda or Harpy Eda.
They seem to be fighting Belos as well because of the scenery (the moss and the eye in the left corner)

Was gonna say "Welcome to the Owl House fandom!" since I never knew you were into it and then realized you've probably been here since season 2 or something :p Whoops!
But since I now know that you're an Owl House fan and since I know you've seen the trailer for Watching and Dreaming, I have a question about that.
What do you think the whole "Luz being in Belos's outfit" thing is all about? I have a decent theory which has to do with Amity saying "Wake up!" But there's no real confirmation on that. What are your thoughts on that part of the trailer and what do you think plays out regarding it?
If you want an easier-to-answer question, then who's your favorite character?
I’ve been here since day 1 snevehbrjr
Also to answer that Ive in the Camp that Luz is in some kinda Waking Nightmare of her worst fears (being like Belos). I think the same thing is happening to Kind and Eda as you see them in places you can associate them having bad experiences with

The traditional legends of Cuca (pronounced ku·kuh) tell that she is an ugly old woman who appears in the form of a crocodile and steals disobedient children. The cuca only sleeps once every seven years, and parents sometimes use this element of the legend to scare children who don't want to sleep, saying that the cuca will get them if they don't go to bed. Although cuca comes from Portuguese coca, in Tupi (indigenous language of Brazil), Cuca means swallowing something in a single gulp.
Even in several cultures there are lullabies that refer to Cuca, in Brazil the main refrain of the lullaby is commonly known:
Nana neném                           Sleep, little one Que a Cuca vem pegar            The Cuca’s going to get you Papai foi pra roça                    Daddy went to the fields Mamãe foi passear                  Mommy went for a walk Desce gatinho                         Come down, little cat De cima do telhado                  From the roof Pra ver se a criança                 To see if the child Dorme um sono sossegado       Is sleeping peacefully.
The legend of Cuca was popularized in Brazil by Monteiro Lobato, through his work "Sítio do Pica-Pau Amarelo", in this story she is portrayed as a humanoid alligator with blond hair and red clothes, a sorceress who torments children who live around where she lives. (This is the most striking version of how it is recognized here)
But it is believed that the Legend of Cuca has its origins in Galician-Portuguese folklore based on the creature “Coca”, which means “skull head”.
The "Coca" is a ghost or a dragon that eats disobedient children that lurks on the roofs of houses, and kidnaps them after doing some mischief.
(But it is worth pointing out that the true source of the Cuca that we know is very difficult to define, due to the miscegenation of various cultures)
Recently Netflix launched a series that is based on Brazilian folklore called "Cidade Invisivel", in the story we follow the detective Eric in the midst of investigating the death of his wife, until some mysteries begin to intrigue the character, and folklore figures like Iara , Saci-Pererê, Curupira etc, start to appear in action. And, of course, especially Cuca, who in this version is portrayed from a different perspective, being a human woman who is a kind of witch of dreams, specialist in putting people to bed/trance, being seen as a protector of all these entities of the world. the great protective mother. It welcomes these beings, who in history live on the margins, because they were expelled from their place of origin (the forest) and are lost in the middle of the city.
I remember finishing the first season, about 2/3 years ago and simply falling in love with this new version of Cuca (who in the series is played by actress Inês Negrine). And luckily, tomorrow (03/22/2023) the 2nd season of Invisible City will finally be released, exploring our folklore even more and bringing even a little more of the tales and stories of the peoples originating in Brazil!
So, I took some time to try to combine these two versions, which are so different but still valid according to research and stories that travel around Brazil (Cuca alligator is the result of legends coming from Portugal and by the representation of Monteiro Lobato, the "traditional" Cuca of original people folklore was associated with owls and moths and this was rescued in the series, as I said there is no wrong source, just a mixture of cultures!!!), so I created my "own" Cuca to celebrate the release of the season and our culture. And that's what it turned out!
I'm going to leave here some links to see the trailer for season 1 and 2 of Invisible City, in case anyone is interested. And also a link to a scene from the series that shows how the lullaby is recited around here.
trailer for the first season of invisible city with english subtitles here! Trailer for the 2nd season of invisible city (unfortunately I couldn't find the trailer with English subtitles, but you can activate the automatic subtitles translated into English through YouTube) Scene from the series with the lullaby here! (The audio is not the best)

OWL HOUSE THEORY FOR WATCHING AND DREAMING!!! (added a read more in case you don’t wanna get content from the trailer and thumbnails)
ok so if Amity got turned into a puppet, then I’m assuming that the rest of the Hexsquad got turned into puppets too, and the trailer showed them in their past outfits from season 1 and 2, so I’m assuming that EVERYONE expect Luz, Eda and King turned into puppets, so BESIDES Luz in Belos’ outfit and having her struggles, we’ll have a sneak peek of characters fighting off in their minds, ESPECIALLY RAINE (which would be cool as fuck to show their character development and potentially reveal things about them we didn’t know??) and I’m leaning towards the Hexsquad too since THERE’S A REASON why they’re dressed like that, and maybe they have to fight Belos???
Because while I believe the Collector was the one who puppet-ified everyone, strong illusions and nightmares like the one that Luz is ASSUMABLY FACING OFF could be Belos’ doings, since he was holding a blue star in the trailer. IDK I JUST LOVE MINDSCAPE BATTLES AND DREAMS AND THE AESTHETIC THAT THIS EPISODE IS GIVING THE VIBES OFF!!
