My immediate I-just-finished-watching-Loki-episode-4 reaction post
There be spoilers ahead.  Oh damn there be spoilers!
Okay.  Firstly, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
Secondly, that was awesome!
Thirdly, so many things!  In no particular order…
Did they just create the Kang problem?  By spagettifying Timely near the Loom did they just somehow seed the multiverse with Kang variants who know more than they should?
“I don’t know”. Agh!  What does this mean! Why is this important to Loki?  What has he just realised? “What’d we do wrong?” “I don’t know”.
The time loop scene was just beautiful! I loved how they cut to Loki from the past and it took me a couple of seconds to realise that wasn’t our present Loki. (Not that I’m complaining, I could happily watch him running desperately through the TVA for a long time lol.) I’d had a feeling the show was going to tie back to the time slipping thing more strongly in this episode so had just rewatched episode 1, for which I am very glad. Made following things a little easier. But it was also great to be able to more closely compare the scene to the on in my memory from ep 1.  I totally thought it was going to be Loki on the phone too though, so that it was OB was almost a disappointment lol!  I’d thought perhaps it was going to be a future version of Loki making the call at that time to bring his past self to that location to be pruned. But unless things are even more convoluted than they appear it seems it wasn’t a call from anyone with that purpose in mind.
The music that starts playing as present Loki realises what’s going on and makes the decision to prune his past self – is that the beginnings of a heroic theme for him!?  Eeeee!  (I feel like it’s going to be my deathbed wish to see Loki straight up play the hero in something, lol!)  Even if not, the music here was great!  From tense and creepy to determined and uplifting!  I didn’t notice it on first viewing, it was just there unconsciously guiding how I felt, but clearly being very effective!
Tumblr media
So. That ending eh? OMG! I was NOT expecting that!!!
I was genuinely shocked at the spaghettification.  And then how quickly the Loom went critical and that they actually showed us how everyone handled their last moments.  Mobius disbelieving, Sylvie and OB quietly resigned, B-15 terrified, and Loki, with tears in his eyes, facing death head on.  Lmao.O does that count as another death for Loki? *cackles madly* Also, so THAT’S what that shot from the trailer was from.  No wonder he looked so… much.
Tumblr media
And then OMG!  The flickering lights! That was so well done!  Now you’re gonna laugh, but my TV and living room lights regularly flicker and the TV turns off. Something about the wifi and picking up signals from phones and alarms.  For instance it always turns off at 9pm when my alarm goes off.  So you can imagine why it took me watching the final scene three times before I was convinced it wasn’t a technical glitch at my end.  LOL!
I love how it’s tied in with the flickering of the lights in the TVA itself. And I love how it works as a symbol for a glitch in time itself – which is what I assume these events have caused.  And the music over the end credits – good lord I still have shills! It’s all so very wrong! Like reality is disintegrating. Like a Dali painting. It’s sooo uncomfortable!  And so very, very, well done!  Such a fantastic blend of the show with reality!  Agh! I love it!  I also love that this is something new, something I’ve never experienced in film or TV before and it’s going to stick with me for life.
So did Timely sabotage things, or do something other than what OB was expecting? Or was he just bluffing with Renslayer? Did he volunteer for the reasons he said, or was he planning something? I want to give him the benefit of the doubt, but I’m just… not… sure.  Did he intend for that to happen to him?  Or did he miscalculate? Or was everything played straight?
I’m sympathetic towards Timely.  The trouble is we haven’t seen him for long enough to really know who he is. In the brief time we’ve been shown conflicting things – he’s a confidence trickster, but he seems harmless enough in the scheme of things. His wonder at all the things in the TVA (including the hot chocolate machine) are very endearing.  He seems genuinely scared of… well… pretty much everyone at some point (except OB), and the way Loki and Mobius show him trust and are kind to him is sweet. But then he hadn’t really been around the TVA long enough for us to see what sort of schemes he could think of to work to his advantage, so perhaps it’s just a matter of time.
So where to from here?  I can see why they showed the press up until this point, and I can see why some of the reviews talked about how episode 4 turned things on it’s head.
I’m going to assume that episodes 5 and 6 are about Loki working out how to fix things. Or maybe not quite fix, but at least not completely destroy. I feel like things at the TVA won’t be the same by the end of the season.
Something makes it so that Loki starts timeslipping again, and into the branched timelines too.  Or is it perhaps just along his own timeline?? We’ve heard him asking how they could do things differently, so I assume that’s what he’ll be trying.  Maybe many different attempts.  Maybe all of those in the room are now unstably jumping about within their own timelines.  I don’t know, but there certainly look to be lots of super cool possibilities!  I half expect the start of the next episode is Loki opening his eyes to find himself in another place/time, and then working out wtf is happening.
Also, we’ve been working on the premise that Timely is a variant, but what if he actually is He Who Remains? What if HWR is in a permanent time loop? (That is of course assuming that Timely somehow didn’t actually die. Or at least not permanently.)
I think I might have to stop thinking about it there or else I might go mad. *cackles*
Some other things:
OB learning everything from Timely!!!  OMG!  I didn’t expect that but I love it.  That was never fully explained, was it?  Does someone take Timely’s TVA book waaay back into the past? They were as cute as imagined in their meeting.  Part of me is still sad they never signed each other’s copy of the TVA book.  But if Timely’s book goes back to OB then it couldn’t be signed by OB I suppose.
Renslayer and Miss Minutes going outright evil.  Well at least I know what side of things she’s on now, I guess. I’m glad they never showed us the results of the machine, because the expressions of those watching was terrifying enough.
Dox defending B-15’s integrity was great. I should have known she wouldn’t live after that.
Nice to have the memory erasing confirmed.
Interesting convo between Sylvie and Mobius. I thought that was interesting and reflected their experiences and positions well.  I really feel for Mobius. I think I’d probably react similarly to him and just not want to know for fear of it being better than the life I knew.  So I have a lot of sympathy for him, but I can totally see Sylvie’s point.  But sometimes you have to narrow your scope of caring to survive.
Loki and Sylvie’s conversation in the Automat may actually be my favourite interaction between them so far.  Loki seemed to be more confident in himself.  He wasn’t trying to please her or desperate for her to do/not do something. It seemed a more mature conversation where he recognised there was no right answer, and was prepared to walk away rather than try to convince her, and equally, she didn’t just push him away or run herself. I might actually be starting to buy the fact that these tow have a history of some sort.
The fact that OB can reset the TVA’s system and enable magic to be used within the TVA – and Loki and Sylvie’s shouted response – Brilliant!!!  I feel like that’s going to be significant later on.  I mean it did allow Sylvie to enchant X-5, so maybe that’s the payoff already, but maybe it also allows Loki (or Sylvie) to do something bigger in that brief window if he’s jumping through time again. I wonder f also it’ll turn out that some other people in the TVA will turn out to be magic users? (I’m assuming not Mobius because of the 90’s and jetski thing, but maybe?)
So I had really quite low expectations for this season.  As I’ve said before I didn’t like several fundamental things about season 1, but we’re 4 episodes in and I am *almost* confident enough to say that most of those are absent from season 2. Or at least so far.  They key thing being Loki’s characterisation – it’s still not entirely consistent with OG Loki, but it’s no longer excruciating to watch him clown about. There are still a few moments this season that have been beyond my comfort zone, but 90% of the time he’s been more assured and has been treated seriously by the show.  He’s also been the driver of events and the eyes through which we see things more than in the first season. And I am so thankful for this.
The tone of this episode is more aligned with episode 1, but that makes sense because it’s both more similar in topic and by the same directing team.  And given Episode 1 was my favourite before this, I’m more than happy!
There’s still a couple of episodes to go, but 4 episodes in and I’ve gone from, ‘yeah, I’ll watch it but only out of curiosity and some weird lingering sense of obligation because I’m a Loki fan’, to ‘this is actually potentially great and I can’t wait to see what happens next’.  Which has been a bit of a shock.  Lol!  I’ve been a Loki fan for too long to have the confidence to call it yet, but I’m leaning more towards the optimistic end of ‘cautiously optimistic’.
Okay, my mutuals and anyone else who wants to discuss – what did you think?  :D
Tagging a few folk since I’m a day or so late.  But please let me know if you’d rather not be tagged (or would like to be added). @sparklegemstone @pinkpondofasgard @woodelf68 @galaxythreads @ladyofthestayingpower @scintillatingshortgirl19 @projectprotectloki

"Reading your ask, I wonder: Is Sylvie better written this season?"
Well... a lot of fans are fed up with her for, in their words, being angry at others for the consequences of her own actions instead of holding herself accountable, which is something that's been going on for multiple episodes. She had some growth when she spared Victor Timely, a HWR Variant, when he pointed out that wasn't him and he could make his own choices. Then she chose not to kill Renslayer for some reason, which had very gruesome consequences.
"I fear they might show Loki as a proud narcissist who wants to be a god and is obsessed with power"
Thankfully, when Loki reminds her that they're gods, he doesn't say it arrogantly at all. He's serious and matter-of-fact, but not prideful or power hungry. It holds weight for him. I just don't buy it holding any meaning for Sylvie.
"I get it can be seen as them being good and protecting others, etc but… can’t Loki just have a life of his own for once?"
Yeah, I do get what you mean. I guess, in real life, some people live life without the need of what they think of as a purpose, while others need an explicit purpose. TVA Loki could be seeking an explicit purpose and, if the show takes him in that direction, maybe he views that as what he wants and so he embraces it. I don't know, just me thinking here. Also, ugh, I would love for them to have a discussion about if godhood is something you're born with or choose or have a choice in walking away from, to be honest.
Right? A discussion about that could be pretty interesting as I can see it working for Loki and Sylvie in completely different ways... and both being right at the same time. The question is: will the writers actually care to take them on that path? It should be heavy on the characterization and something tells me Marvel wants more Multiverse and timelines talk than actual characterization.
It's a shame Sylvie hasn't taken responsibility for her actions then. Taking responsibility for what happened at the Citadel could have been an interesting arc for her: She had spent all her life focused on that and once she succeeded... nothing changed. That must have left scars and she could have taken the time to learn from it and be a better character for S2.
I like what you say about Loki needing purpose though. But I want him as the main cause of chaos and trouble, not as the guy on top who rules the whole thing isolated from everyone else, with an insane amount of power but no actual life of his own. I know I'm repeating myself here but it sounds a lot like giving up to me...

"IF IT ISN'T THE VARIANT," she popped up right in front of the other, hopefully scaring him. good. lokis were no good. try as she might, try as she might have told the boss to get rid of the both of them and find someone else.. he just.. had never listened. he had so many strong ideas and while she deeply admired that about him .. it would have been impossible not to .. she also wished that she could have changed his mind about some of them. letting loki and sylvie do what they had to him had been, of course, the main one. time being a loop and all that, she knew that it would be alright and that he would be back eventually but it was hard to keep the spite from showing in her voice. "what are yah up to these days, loki? yah know.. causing more trouble? bringing about the end of times? what did yah do to the tva?" she changed to her human form, making it clear she was not going anywhere.

“That is good.”  Loki said.  He appreciated Carol, but she tended to overreact just slightly.  It didn’t help that he probably was a little more mischievous then he could be, but it was fine.  He was going to be safe at least he could do that.  “The Time Variance Authority so yes it’s got to do with time and variants, but that’s a whole thing.”  Loki said.  “I was starting to wonder, but that is right.  I got out and ended up with the TVA, so I’m not the main reality version of your father.” Loki said.  But he knew what happened to that counterpart all the same.  A nod from him.  “You should not go first.  That defeats the purpose of keeping you safe.”  He said.  “Even without my magic I’m not defenseless.”  He said.

❝Mhm..❞ Honestly as much as Storm loved to cause a little mischief and chaos at times, lately he's been trying to keep himself out of trouble. After all he's caused enough and he didn't want to disappoint his mother and uncle any farther, well his father now as well. ❝Hm, so basically time police. And yet the Avengers were allowed to mess with the timeline, fascinating. And I am assuming variants mean other versions of ourselves from different timelines.❞ Then came the rest, which caused him to squeeze his eyes shut momentarily as he sighed. So he was definitely right, this wasn't HIS father but another version of him. ❝My father is dead, like not coming back this time, dead. So no, you couldn't be him but that doesn't matter because you are still my father. But if you escaped and ended up in the TVA then that means, if I'm correct, they aren't letting other versions thrive. And that makes them villians in a way, I hope they know that.❞ The rebel stated candidly. Yeah, they may not be the main version of themselves to the other but it definitely didn't matter, this proved it. ❝Well it's a bit more safe to have someone in the middle but you know, lead the way.❞ He said before nodding. ❝Well yeah, I know you aren't completely defenseless but you don't know what kind of dangers this place may hold so it's better safe than sorry.❞

Hi! Can I request Doctor Strange x variant!reader? like Loki and Sylvie reader is the female version of him in another universe
Doctor Strange x Variant! Reader
Tumblr media
A major skeptic at first. He is a pretty standoffish distrustful person. Naturally if he met someone claiming to be him from a different reality, even though he personally knows the odds of that being true are high, he’d instinctively be skeptical about the authenticity of information he’s being told by his other self.
“How can I know you’re telling me the truth and not trying to trick me for your own gain?”
I feel like he’d be a bit hesitant to be romantic with the reader because he struggles with the morality of it. Would it be morally alright to be with someone who shares the same DNA or is it different because technically you don’t? He’d fumble with that for a while. But once he is around you long enough, the worries start to fade as the pros begin to put way the cons.
If the reader is like him in the way that he is a bit standoffish, stoic, and distrusting, then the relationship might take longer to develop. On the other hand when the relationship developed, it would end up being one of those uneventful but comfortable relationships. One where you can, for example, read together in a room and both be comfortable in the silence because you know where the other stands. It would be a relationship where you both felt secure and safe with each other. You don’t have to do anything show you love each other. You just know it.
If the reader is considerably less stoic and more on the bright bubbly side, the relationship would develop faster and be one where you grow together. When black and white come together, it makes grey. Your relationship would be very similar. He’d bring your head down from the clouds and you’d teach him to open up a bit more. But do not expect him to be that open with anyone else. He trusts you enough to be vulnerable around. He’d immediately go back to being more rigid and formal in front of absolutely anyone else.
He may seem like he doesn’t have any but once he opens up to his joyful love interest, he would be vulnerable about his insecurities as well. This specific scenario is why I picked the song I did for this entry. The lyrics would be very fitting.
He’d go from: “You are just a fool to keep pretending that you’re loving me.” 🥺
To: “Call me in the phone at three. I’ll talk to you while half asleep” ♥️
Wether the reader is like him or otherwise, he would be very attentive, sensitive, and very focused on his S/O. He’d do small sweet things because he’s so observant. Handing you a tissue before you even knew you were going to sneeze, having tea ready before bed cause he’s noticed you’ve been having trouble staying asleep, etc. it would be a very sweet and secure relationship. Reader is one lucky duck 🦆

Dear Loki - Chapter 3/7
Summary:
Loki, bored while waiting for Mobius in his office, starts to explore the drawers of his lover’s desk and finds a bunch of letters addressed to him... On AO3 - Rating G
Tumblr media
Dear Loki,
It's hard to talk about how long it's been here, but it feels like forever since you left.
I still wonder why you followed this variant.
Did you only think of running away all this time?
Was I not worthy of your trust after all?
Was it just wishful thinking on my part to believe that we could at least be friends?
I want to believe in you but the more time passes, the more...
Loki swallowed as he saw that the letter stopped there.
He had known for a long time that Mobius trusted him, but he realized how much that shaky early trust had been tested during his time on Lamentis.
He was even more than grateful that they had managed to repair their relationship after that.
Even transcend it.
He grabbed the next page, or rather the next packet of notes bound together by a paper clip.
Little crumpled pieces of paper.
This did not surprise Loki if he considered the sequence of events that had followed his arrest on Lamentis.
What did surprise him and soften him was that Mobius had arranged them in chronological order, very carefully.
He grabbed the first one.
Dear Loki,
We still haven't found you.
But since I have no one to talk to about this, I have to write it down somewhere.
I
Ravonna
I feel like Ravonna wants to stop me from looking for something.
She doesn't want me to see Hunter C-20.
Yet I have a hunch that she is the key to finding out more about the variant.
Loki could not help but feel a kind of pride. He had always thought and said that Mobius was one of the smartest people he knew. He had said to himself many times that if the TVA "recruiters" had known how perceptive and stubborn Mobius could be, they would never have made him an analyst.
He continued to read, and although the rest was written on the same note, he noticed the much more nervous handwriting. The handwriting of someone who was angry.
I can't believe it!
You are so infuriating!
I haven't called someone an asshole since, in fact I don't remember! In fact, I've never insulted anyone so much in such a short time!
Loki remembered perfectly their exchange of insults. Each one having as much to blame on the other. Mobius had not been tender and neither had Loki. But he remembered that the insult that had probably hurt him the most was when Mobius had called him a 'bad friend'.
What do you mean the TVA is lying?
Is this one of your tricks to get me? To fool the folksy dope as you so aptly put it. Because that's what I am in the end, the fool who dared to confront a god.
What was I thinking?
But... What if you were right?
I don't know anymore.
I just saw Ravonna, who absolutely forbade me to talk to Sylvie.
Why?
You both caused this Nexus Event, so logic would dictate that I question her as well. So why?
Like C-20.
Like there was something I shouldn't know.
And Hunter B-15 looked confused too.
There's something but I can't put my finger on it.
If only I could believe you.
But...
Maybe the next questioning will help me.
Loki wondered at first why these words were crossed out, but he remembered said questioning and assumed that it had been crossed out afterwards.
The rest was on the next piece of paper.
Loki remembered it well.
The insults had continued and above all he had witnessed an aspect of Mobius that he never thought he would see under such circumstances.
At the time, Loki had thought it was anger, but in retrospect... he was pretty sure it was jealousy.
Is she that important to you?
I saw the look on your face when you thought she had really been pruned.
What is she to you?
I don't have time to think about that.
I have to...
If what you said is true...
Everything... Everything is wrong.
But if what you said is true. It means you're not lying to me.
Could the trust be
The note stopped there and although short, it gave Loki an idea of what Mobius's trouble might have been like at that moment.
Loki had delivered a crushing blow to the foundations of what had been Mobius’ life up to that point, and although he had himself suffered cruelly in the timecell, he also knew from experience how cruel the shock of discovering the truth had been to Mobius. But despite this, he had continued to seek the truth and face it rather than run from it, no matter how hard it was.
He took the next note, which was the last one before the next bundle.
You were right.
You were absolutely right.
C-20.
Ravonna.
Just like that.
Loki, tell me I can trust you.
Tell me how I can trust you when I just found out that everything I believed in is dust.
And if I believe you, if I trust you, can you forgive me?
I can't let doubts stop me from going all the way.
I can only hope that you are willing to forgive the fact that I was the one who was a bad friend.
All I have left is hope.
I have nothing else left.
Nothing left.
Loki's heart sank as he thought of the state of mind Mobius had been in when he met him in the timecell.
It only made the memory of the moment they renewed their trust stronger and more beautiful.
That moment when each of them took the step towards the other.
That moment when there was no longer the analyst and the variant, but just two people, accepting to take the risk of putting their lives at stake in the hands of another.
That moment when Loki asked Mobius to trust him again.
"So, I just have to trust the word of two Lokis?"
"How about the word of a friend?"
That moment when Mobius asked Loki exactly the same thing.
"And if you wanna save her, you need to trust me."
"Can we do that?"
"Yes."
And finally that moment when Mobius, with just a few words healed the countless wounds of Loki's past.
"You could be whoever, whatever you wanna be, even someone good.
I mean, just in case anyone ever told you different."
Loki's throat tightened again as he thought of that cruel moment when just after experiencing intense happiness he had once again been thrown into nameless pain the moment Mobius was pruned in front of his eyes.
Believing at that moment to have lost him forever.
There were still a few words scribbled at the bottom of the crumpled paper.
I just woke up in a pretty scary place.
Am I really dead?
Is this what's in the afterlife?
I don't know what and where, but I just hope you're safe.
Once again, I have nothing left but hope.
Mobius, even in what he thought was death, was still thinking about him.
Incredible but at the same time so Mobius.
Loki was torn between the desire to go and find Mobius wherever he was and show him how much he loved him and the desire to continue reading.
When suddenly, the door opened rather abruptly, "Loki?"
Loki put on his best poker face and asked in a somewhat haughty tone, "Hunter B-15 what can I do for you?"
The hunter rolled her eyes, "Mobius is a saint. To be able to put up with you, he must really be a saint."
Loki gave a half smile and replied with a lewd look, "I can assure you that I know intimately that Mobius is no saint."
Even a hunter as experienced as Hunter B-15 couldn't hide that she was embarrassed by the implication of what Loki had just said.
"Whatever."
She shrugged and walked out of the office, slamming the door on her.
Loki chuckled softly and settled back comfortably into the office chair before resuming his reading.
He grabbed the next bundle of small papers tied together again with a paperclip.
Dear Loki...

A Multiverse Of Ideas
Summary:
The Multiverse can be a large place with endless tales of tragedy, love. hope, despair, happiness, fear, etc. Every variant has a story to tell with endless possibilities on where it goes. One such tale involves ML-277 (Michelle), widowed wife of variant L-277. After taking a Pym particle and traveling to save her husband from the Mad Titans grasp, she is captured by the TVA for messing with the sacred timeline. It isn't until she is saved by Agent Mobius that her life starts to flip back on track. And it all starts with a reunion like no other. How will her and her variant’s tales begin?
Tumblr media
Chapter 1: Lost Love (Variant ML-277)
“Variant ML-277. You are charged with jumping through a wormhole into another timeline to save your long dead husband.” The woman at the judges desk read off, clearly growing bored with the job she was instilled with.
She looked down at the woman being held by two minutemen.
“How do you plead?” She sighed.
The variant struggled in the soldiers hands, trying to free herself to no avail. Tears began to stream down her face as she growled in rage.
“I had to! He was taken from me by a monster that had no mercy! He was all I had left and that psychopath took him!” She yelled desperately.
The judge above her was clearly not moved by her passionate speech.
“Michelle Laufeyson, how do you plead?” She repeated, getting annoyed with her banter.
“Please! I wasn’t breaking any rules! I was just-”
The judge only interrupted her, yelling, “HOW DO YOU PLEAD?”
Her voice boomed throughout the room, causing Michelle to flinch just a little. The variant looked to the floor as her situation finally became real to her. They were not going to listen to her.
“Guilty ma’am. I only did it to see him again. Honest. I’m not a threat to this organization.” She pleaded, hoping for someone to hear her.
The judge only leaned forward and replied, “Mrs. Laufeyson, we don’t care for sob stories. The TVA only cares to keep the timeline secure. I order for you to be reset. Next!”
The gavel banged down onto the pedestal as Michelle was forced towards the door to her right. Her chocolate brown orbs grew wide as she began to struggle in her guards grasp.
“Wait! What do you mean by reset? WAIT!” She screamed as they began to drag her away.
The judge nor the guards listened to her pleas, continuing to drag her towards the room to where she would be ‘reset’ in their words.
“I’m not a danger to the timeline! I swear! Please!” She yelled.
“You cannot change the death of your husband, Mrs. Laufeyson. He is dead and that is the way the timeline was wrought.” The judge said, silencing her pleas.
Before Michelle could continue arguing, a voice cut through the courtroom.
“Wait! Judge Rennslayer, I’ve got something to show you, and it involves Mrs. Laufeyson's case.”
Michelle looked to see a man dressed in a brown suit with the TVA logo. His gray hair was slicked back on his head.
“Mr. Mobius, this better be more important than your last interruption.” She replied as she took the file from his outstretched hand.
Michelle stopped her struggle as Rennslayer looked over the file. The judge sighed as she laid the file down on her desk.
“She violated the time law, Mr. Mobius.” She said,
“She’s being hunted, your honor. Don’t you think she’d be better off helping us?” He asked.
Michelle blinked in surprise.
Who was hunting her? Rennslayer looked down at Michelle, her face devoid of any emotions.
“I’m only going to give you this last chance. If she escapes or causes trouble, I’ll deal with her personally.” She replied, glaring down at Michelle.
The Asgardian returned her hardened stare. Her guards let her go, and Mobius gestured for her to follow him.
“Why exactly have you saved me?” She asked him as they walked through the TVA.
The agent looked back at her before smiling softly. He led her into an elevator and only spoke when the doors closed.
“You’re Loki’s wife, correct?” He asked.
Michelle frowned at him before answering, “Yes… Why are you asking such a clandestine question?” She asked, getting annoyed at his stalling.
“Your husband has been running around with us to help stop a variant that has been murdering our minutemen. I need you to keep him in place.” He said as the doors opened with a high pitched ding.
Michelle chuckled in amusement as she followed him.
“My husband cannot be controlled. He’s a force to be reckoned with. I’m just surprised that he fell in love with me.” She replied with a shrug.
Mobius hummed in reply.
“Maybe it was your ability to make him feel guilty for his actions? Or the fact that you have a temper that a raging storm cannot clench?” He asked her.
Michelle pondered his words for a moment.
“But before I take you to him, we need to review some of the pivotal moments of your timeline since it is TVA code.” Mobius said, making her frown.
“What, wait! He’s here?” She asked, making sure she heard him correctly.
Mobius stopped and turned towards her.
“He’s been here for a little while actually. But don’t worry. We just have to get through your files before I take you to him.”
Michelle raised a brow.
"My time files you mean?" She inquired,
"Now you're getting the hang of it." He praised lightly, making her roll her eyes in annoyance.
“Let’s just get this over with so I can speak with him.” She sighed, making Mobius chuckle.
“Right this way your majesty.” He joked.
Michelle glared at him. She was tired of his stupid quips. The TVA agent led her towards the Theatre rooms located by the ticket booth. He walked towards a set of double doors with a number five on the wall next to them.
"After you."
He smiled as he held open the door for her. Michelles expression didn't change as she walked inside. The room was dimly lit with a table, two chairs, and a projector in the middle.
"Have a seat. We have much to discuss." Mobius said, gesturing towards a chair.
Michelle didn't say a word as she quietly sat down in one of the chairs by the table. The agent sat in front of her on the other side of the table. He brought with him the many files he was carrying.
“So the wife of the fearsome God of Mischief? Must be quite the story of how you ended up with him.” He said, making small talk.
Michelle chuckled at his bland attempt to make her open up.
“Nice try. You already have my files. Why not show me what I already know?” She asked, raising a brow.
Mobius smiled at her, clearly impressed with her.
“I see already why he liked you.” He replied, before powering up the projector and turning a few knobs on the machine.
A black screen appeared as he began to go through her life.
“Michelle Signy Odursdottir, born in the realm of Vanaheim, the youngest of five siblings.”
Michelle watched as the moving image of her family appeared.
“Never had a chance for the crown, but you found other ways to obtain royal status it seems.” He continued, showing her the moving image of a young Loki and her riding through the forests of Asgard, mischievous smiles coating their faces.
“Do you think I knew that I would capture his heart? We were children who loved to adventure and cause some trouble. Truthfully I am shocked that Odin blessed our marriage after the stress we put on him in our youth.” She sighed.
“Yeah, stealing a horse with him to ride around the meadows of Asgard with your arms wrapped around his waist truly didn’t make his day.” Mobius replied, not believing her.
“We were children. There was nothing but fun and games. No romance.” She denied.
“Right…” Mobius replied as he fast forwarded to her teenage years.
It was the night of the annual ball. There she was in her slim deep purple gown. She watched her husband walk up to her and hold out a hand for her to grasp.
“Would you care to dance, my Lady?” He smiled,
Michelle saw herself smile and grasp his hand.
“Gladly my Prince.” She replied before Loki led her out onto the dance floor.
“Well, right here I see love blossoming from something small. And that love made something bigger from the dirt. You would be surprised Michelle. Loki and you have been through a lot together in almost every timeline." Mobius said.
She raised a brow, not exactly believing his words. The agent smiled as he flipped through to the next file.
“That dance led to your marriage a few years later. And then, you lost him.” He continued as he fast forwarded from her marriage to her sitting in their bed, weeping into her hands, “After years of mourning, your brother-in-law tells you your husband was alive, but he was attacking innocent civilians on Earth which caused you to force him back to Asgard only to lose him once more.”
Michelle watched the feed speed forward to her visits to the dungeons.
“You had your first fight, which didn’t help when he was busted out to help Thor save Jane Foster from the Aether. And again, he dies only to reappear as the All-Father. You both rekindle the flame you had lost in Sakaar after Hela shot you both out of the Bifrost. Thor comes to Sakaar, breaks out with your help and a Valkyrie that had tried to forget about her past. Your husband betrays you all again only to redeem himself by bringing the shuttle for your people. Ragnarok is fulfilled, and you chart a course for Earth only to be intercepted by the Mad Titan, who kills half of the Asgardians. And in turn-” Mobius said, only for Michelle to stop him.
“No…” “I cannot relive that.” She begged.
The Agent nodded, respecting her sorrow.
“And now you are here after using a Pym particle to retrieve your husband from the past so you can have your happily ever after.” He finished,
Michelle glared at him.
“So the TVA wishes for me to suffer?” She asked,
Mobius shook his head.
“We only want for you to live your timeline correctly, Michelle. He is supposed to die. You are supposed to move on-”
He was only interrupted by her, “No, I will never stop loving Loki.”
Mobius smiled as she realized what she admitted.
“Silvertongue.” She growled as he got towards his feet.
“Well, your husband is the real one. Let’s go see him.” He said, offering her his hand.
She took it, and they walked out of the Theatre Room. Walking towards the elevator, they rode up towards the office floor. Mobius led her out of the elevator and towards the cubicles. Michelle swallowed deeply as her nerves began to get the best of her. It had been five years since she had seen him last, talked to him even.
How would this turn of events go? Would he remember her?
The TVA agent walked up to a desk stationed in the corner of the room. Her breath hitched as she laid eyes on her husband for the first time in five years. Oh Norns...words could never describe how she felt. She knew this wasn’t her Loki. This was the broken and desperate shell of her lost love, the one that had killed and maimed for power and glory. And all for a seat of power. He still had a long way to go before he became the man she was proud of. But she knew he could do it again, and she would be there to see every moment of progress.
“Loki, there is someone here to meet you. I think they can help us solve the mission file.” Mobius said as he stood in front of her, blocking Michelle from Loki’s view.
She heard her husband chuckle maliciously in reply.
“And who could that possibly be?” He challenged him.
Michelle felt tears well up in her eyes as memories replayed in her head. It had been too long since she had heard that voice.
“You would be shocked.” Mobius commented as he took a step sideways, revealing her to her husband.
She watched his eyes grow wide, fear and surprise covering his face as it paled. He was studying her attire intricately, noticing the TVA jumpsuit.
“Hello Loki.” She muttered as a small smile covered her face.
The trickster focused his attention back towards Mobius, shooting out of his chair like a lightning bolt. He bore down onto the agent, a rage like none Michelle had ever seen before written on his face.
“You half wit imbecile! How dare you take my wife for your own personal gain!" He snarled.
Michelle’s eyes grew wide as she quickly put herself between her husband and Mobius.
"Loki stop! Mobius wasn't the one that brought me here! He saved me from getting reset!"
Her husband looked at her in horror.
"They tried what?" He questioned a new level of anger embedded within his tone.
She shook her head, knowing this would get nowhere. Her mind flooded back to the times he would rage, pacing and threatening everything and everyone around him. He was a fire you couldn't put out. Michelle knew there were only a couple of people who could calm his inferno, Frigga and her. Now at this moment, she needed to quickly douse the flames of his fire.
"Hey," She said softly, laying a hand on his cheek.
Loki looked at her, his eyes like a scared child's, lost and misguided,
"Everything is alright. Just focus on me, and we'll get through this together."
Her husband nodded as his hand grasped her own tightly.
"I'm sorry, my love, for everything." He mumbled in defeat.
She knew he spoke of the Battle of Manhattan and his actions towards her before that point. Michelle smiled, seeing this as a new beginning.
"Jeg tilgir deg, my King. Now, breathe and calm yourself before we continue." She ordered gently.
The trickster smiled softly as he replied, “Yes, my Queen. I promise not to betray your trust ever again.”
Michelle smiled, knowing that wasn’t going to last long, but she loved his passion and care for her. There was a small change that had worked inside him. Michelle could see it blooming ever so slowly. Her smile grew bigger as he leaned in, kissing her lips intimately. She could feel the spark inside her reigniting. Five years of grief were melting away in one kiss. They pulled away, inches apart. Her husband smiled down at her, true happiness radiating from his eyes.
“This truly is a touching moment, and I hate to interrupt it,” Both Loki and Michelle turned towards Mobius, who was still watching them, “But we need to get moving if we are going to find the variant threatening the TVA.”
The God of Mischief sighed, annoyance lacing his tone as he replied, “You couldn’t give us more than a mere minute?”
A small smile covered Michelle’s face at his quip. She kissed his cheek, catching his attention back towards her.
“It’s alright. Besides, we’ll have more time together on the mission to talk.”
Loki smirked before nodding in agreement.
“But first let’s get you out of that drabby jumpsuit and into something more equipped for this assignment.” Mobius spoke up, waving for her to follow him.
She nodded and pulled away from her husband, only for him to grasp her hand. Michelle looked at him in surprise.
“Hurry back, petal.” He whispered.
She smiled before replying, “I will. Wait for me, and I’ll be there.”
The trickster gave her a toothy smile before letting go of her hand. Michelle walked away with Mobius.
Once they were out of the room he spoke, “He truly loves you. I see it in his eyes.”
Michelle smiled at him as she lightly chuckled.
“Thank you for reuniting us.”
The TVA agent turned towards her.
“You’re welcome. It’s always good to see a young couple get their happily ever after.” He said before continuing to walk down the hallway.
Michelle looked at the TVA down below her, the smile never leaving her face.
“Yes, happily ever after.” She replied softly before following him down the hall.

Mobius identity theory 18
On with my 20 days of pre-TVA Mobius’ identity theories event!
[Edit: previous - next | Masterpost]
Day 18: Sorcerer Supreme
For today's theory, that may seem crazy but is not that crazy all things considered (if you ask me at least!), let's reflects on this possibility: what if Mobius was a human indeed, but an usually sort of human, versed in Magic? What if he was a Master of the Mystic Arts, protecting the Earth against mystical threats? And, to go a step further, what if Mobius somehow became Sorcerer Supreme?
I do have arguments:
Mobius would look absolutely badass in that majestuous flying cape (or any other ancient artefact that would have chosen him).
He would get along with Wong just fine!
Supreme Sorcerers (with the only known exception of the Ancient One), seem to be chosen among mustachioed individuals (see Stephen Strange's circle beard and Wong's more discreet but elegant mustache). It would thus be only logical for Mobius and his own glorious moustache to also hold the function!
The Sorcerer Supreme is the guardian of the Eye of Agamotto, the ancient relique containing the Time Stone. They're also only the only one allowed to use its power. As Sorcerer Supreme, Mobius would thus have had experience handling the flow of time. Amongst a multitude of variants, someone already familiar with the notion - and the dangers - of time travel may have had greater chances of having been selected to become a TVA "employee".
Mobius would most certainly have been a pretty good Sorcerer Supreme: responsible and dependable but not so "rigid" or "unmovable" that it would make him incapable to see that "sometimes one must break the rules in order to serve the greater good," to use the words of the Ancient One.
Mobius having been Sorcerer Supreme also allows me to introduce another crazy hypothesis I like a lot: that Mobius may have intentionally provoked his nexus event.
In infinity War, we've seen Doctor Strange using the power of the Eye of Agamotto to envision thousands of possible scenari in the hopes of finding a way to beat Thanos (and, well, he did find one!). The Ancient One also mentions she's had to capacity to see in the future up to the moment of her death. So, what if Supreme Sorcerer Mobius had done the same? What if he used the Eye of Agamotto to travel to the future - the many possible futures - in mind and realised his dimension - as well as every other ones - were in danger?
Would the Eye of Agamotto have allowed him to see inside the TVA? Maybe not, given the TVA's apparent impermeability to magic. It may have been unnecessary though! He may have watched the actions of TVA agents on Earth (might even have seen his future-self taking part in some missions!). He may have envisioned the Multiversal War, or Kang's variants actions after the fall of the TVA! Whatever he may have witnessed, he'd have acknowledged the necessity to free the Sacred Time Line, but also to protect the worlds from the troubles that would follow. He may have realized the only way for this to end in anything other than Kang's domination or the absolute collapse of all realities was for Loki to fracture the TVA and to face Kang(s)...and for Mobius to help Loki.
Being able to envision what would be probably also made Mobius aware of what should be - and what shouldn't. It was therefore easy for him to cause a nexus event and get arrested by the Time Variance Authority - for which he knew he would work, and where he knew he'd met Loki. His memories and temporary lack of freedom were a small price to pay to ensure the Multiverse's future (as well as it's past!).
We can also ask ourselves if Mobius did realize just how close to Loki he'd become...

Open to Loki
Tumblr media
“Variant...? Loki, nothing you’re saying is making any sense.“ But every word he said was true - even if her powers didn’t tell her that, she’d have known given how unlikely it was that anyone would dream up a story as ridiculous as this. A space office with delusions of grandeur policing the timeline, other Lokis causing trouble... actually, that last bit was entirely plausible.
Verity blinked back tears, not sure if she wanted to beat on his chest until he understood how much he’d hurt her or just hold him. The stupid, ridiculous, wonderful idiot was alive. “Thor told me you were dead,” and it had rung true... or, rather, hadn’t rung false. While it may not have been accurate... it obviously wasn’t accurate, Loki’s brother had thought it true. “I went to your funeral. They burnt a boat. It was... a little weird.“

thinking about how Mobius specializes in dealing with dangerous variants. as in, the type that destroy timelines and mess with the entire timestream and try to cause multiversal wars and take down six hunter/minutemen units in that many days.
and he's stuck partnering with an mcu variant loki whose idea of a threat is to call you a fish

Not on My Watch
A/N: Hey, love! Thank you so much for this request!! I haven't written for President Loki yet, so I was very excited that you sent this hehe. Also, I hope you’re having a wonderful day too :)
I hope you all enjoy and as always, feedback is appreciated :)
Pairing: Loki x Reader
Warnings: Spoilers for episode 5 of Loki, angst/fluff, cursing, mutual pining, President Loki likes to cause trouble (are we surprised?)
Tumblr media
The scene in front of you makes your head throb. Never again will you complain about your Loki. You thought one was bad, but now, with about fifteen other Loki’s standing before you, you’re rethinking everything.
“What in the fuck-”
“Greetings, Loki’s!” Loki is standing on an elevated box, his arms outstretched as he gathers the attention of all the variants. Sylvie is standing next to him, her gaze focused solely on his face.
The scene makes your heart clench while jealousy floods your body. You adore Sylvie, love her even, would do anything to protect her. But recently, you’ve been noticing the little quips between her and Loki, along with the flirty looks that follow. It makes you angry, angrier than you’ve been in a while and more importantly, hurt. You’ve been by Loki’s side for a long time, loving him the entire way and now, a woman you just met is already sweeping him off his feet.
Loki continues his speech after a quick glance at Sylvie. “Someone is behind all of this and the only way we’ll get to them is through the beast! So, we need your help to distract Alioth, while Sylvie enchants him! What do you say?”
Cheers erupt around you and you stare in confusion. They’re all committing their lives to help out? Sounds very un-Loki-like.
“I have full confidence in Sylvie. She’s amazing-”
Rolling your eyes, you zone out on Loki’s speech, not wanting to hear him rant about how perfect Sylvie is. This is how it’s been for weeks now. Sylvie this. Sylvie that. It’s clear he’s obsessed with her at this point, leaving you no room to even try to compete.
“Well, hello there.” The voice startles you, being you weren’t paying attention to your surroundings.
Looking to the side, you’re face to face with President Loki, the variant of Loki who’s now leading a group of them. He smiles widely at you, his face scarily resembling your Loki.
You smile tightly back, the gesture not quite meeting your eyes. “Hi.”
President Loki extends his hand, an open invitation to introduce yourself. After taking a couple seconds to think it over, you place your hand in his and he squeezes slightly. “Loki.”
You laugh, a small snort escaping you. “I would’ve never guessed that... I’m Y/N.”
He smirks at you, your sarcasm rubbing him in all the right places. He likes you.
Across the room, Loki is watching your exchange intently, his eyes narrowed into slits as his hands fist up at his sides. He growls as he sees President Loki run his hand down your arm.
“Everything okay?” Sylvie asks, confused as to why his whole demeanor changed.
“Oh, just lovely,” Loki responds, getting more angry by the second. “Just fucking wonderful.”
---
Heading down the hill, you follow Loki and Sylvie as they lead the group towards Alioth. The plan is to find a safe spot near the beast’s location to regroup before all hell breaks loose.
Walking beside you is President Loki, his arm continuously touching yours with each step.
Loki glances back to watch the two of you, his mouth set in a tight line as anger emanates off him.
“What’s wrong with you?” Sylvie asks before following his line of sight. “Ah, I see. You’re jealous.”
“That’s ridiculous. I’m not jealous,” Loki mutters, his eyes never leaving you.
“Yeah?” Sylvie asks. “Then why is there magic coming out of your fingertips? I think someone wants to blast a certain someone far far away.”
Loki looks down at his hand, the green hue of his magic floating in the air. He scoffs, turning his attention back to the ground in front of him and continues walking.
A few feet away, back with you, President Loki starts talking. “So sweetheart, where will you go after all of this is over? I hope somewhere with me.”
You chuckle at his flirtatious attempts. He goes after what he wants. That, you can respect. You, on the other hand, could never expose your deep feelings for your God of Mischief, the man who’s standing in front of you now, non-stop chatting with Sylvie beside him. Of course it’s her. She’s beautiful in every single way. But still… Why couldn’t it be you?
“You’re planning really far into the future now. What if we don’t even survive our plan?”
President Loki’s tongue pokes out to wet his bottom lip and you watch, the act meant to be innocent but with him, you know it’s dangerous. He smirks as you continue to stare. “You act like I’d let something happen to you.”
Tilting your head to the side, you study him. “And, why me?”
He chuckles, his voice dark. “Because I know when there’s something good in front of me and you, sweetheart, are delectable.”
Those words are spoken loud and honest, and as they drift up to Loki’s ears, he stops in his tracks.
“This is a good place to stop!” Loki yells back to everyone.
Was the spot exactly where he wanted? No. But, would he continue to walk as another version of him flirts with you mercilessly? Fuck no. So, this will have to do.
---
“You should all split into groups of two to distract the beast, while I try to enchant it,” Sylvie says, confident in her abilities.
You nod your head in agreement. Any plan was better than nothing.
President Loki moves closer into your side, wrapping his arm tightly around your waist. “If that’s the case, I’ll pair up with this one here.”
If looks could kill, President Loki would be dead on the ground in seconds. Loki snarls, his eyes shooting daggers into the arm wrapped around you. When he finally speaks, his voice is low. Menacing. “Absolutely not. Y/N’s with me. And, that’s final.” He stares at President Loki, daring him to fight back.
In response, President Loki shrugs his shoulders and removes himself from you. “It was nice to meet you, beautiful.” He winks at you before walking off.
Loki grabs your hand and drags you over to a secluded area, away from any prying eyes.
Ripping your hand out of his, you cross your arms over your chest. “What the hell was that?”
“What was what?”
“Oh, don’t play dumb. You know what I’m talking about.”
You’re pissed and he knows it. How dare he act possessive as soon as another person makes an attempt on you. It’s frustrating and confusing. He wants Sylvie, so what could possibly be the problem? Your thoughts are jumbled, trying to piece together what the hell is happening.
Loki sighs, his hands on his hips as he stares out to the side. As he speaks, his eyes don’t meet yours, this feeling of intimacy making him nervous. This is what he does: puts up an indefensible wall so no one can come in and hurt him.
“You’ve been by my side for a while now. Why is that?”
Confused, your eyebrows scrunch together. “What do you mean? We’re friends.”
Turning his head, he finally meets your stare and his face says everything. “No one ever sticks around.”
Tears gather at the corner of your eyes and you can’t help yourself as you tightly wrap your arms around him, burying your face into his chest.
His arms act on reflex, tightening around your body and pulling you even closer, his head resting on top of yours.
“I’m not good at this,” he whispers into your hair.
Pulling away, you stare up at him. “Not good at what?”
His hand moves to cradle your cheek, caressing your skin gently with his thumb. “Expressing how I feel about you.”
Gasping, your heart clenches at his words. “And, how exactly do you feel about me?”
Loki breathes out deeply, nerves running through him. He’s scared. Scared of fully giving his heart to you and then losing you. The thought is unbearable.
“A moment hasn’t gone by where you aren’t on my mind. You drive me crazy. You’re invasive and it frightens me how well you truly know me. You know me better than anyone else and yet, you still pick your way further inside. I’ve given up on stopping you because secretly, I love it. I love when you pick away because it shows how much you care and I’m not used to receiving that.”
A few tears slide down his face, remnants of what’s still possible. He isn’t too far gone. He never was. He’s capable of love, of both receiving and giving it.
“I love you, darling.” His voice chokes up, getting stuck on the cries that lodge in his throat. “I’ve always loved you.”
Smiling through the tears, you grab his dirt-stained collar, crushing your lips onto his. His lips are soft against yours, moving in sync as if you’ve done this dance together before. His tongue teases your mouth, slipping inside to dominate yours.
You sigh into the kiss as he pulls away, resting his forehead against yours, heavy breaths mixing into one.
“I love you too,” you breathe out. “And, for the record, I thought you had feelings for Sylvie.”
Loki backs up, an incredulous look on his face. “Sylvie? Never.” A smirk forms as he ponders your words. “Were you jealous?”
You scoff. “Please. Not nearly as jealous as you were about your little variant over there.”
“Ah, I see. You’re in denial. I can accept that.” He pulls you closer yet again, his face inches from you. “I was jealous. Rightfully so. Just look at you. Although, I will say, you have good taste. The man looks just like me.”
You slap at his chest playfully. “You’re unbelievable.”
“Guilty of being unbelievably in love with you? Well, you’ve got that one right, darling.”
You think he’s about to kiss you again until he quickly walks away, pulling you along with him. “I meant it when I said you’re with me.” His eyes are bright, passion swirling inside them. “Because losing you isn’t an option.”

Re: The Mobius-Loki one-on-one scene
I don't see it as a therapy scene. I'm not sure where everyone is getting that. It's a cathartic scene, but even then, that's not it's whole purpose.
I see it as Mobius using that opportunity with Loki to sell him the narrative that his whole existence and identity is something of a stepping stone for others to be better. It's a horrible thing to say, even worse than being called useless. And he's saying all this to manipulate Loki into helping him catch the other Loki variant.
It's gaslighting and manipulation in a subtle manner initially, but he really dials it up at Frigga's death scene. Hits Loki hard when he's already down and vulnerable.
I also think that Mobius is also saying all these things from a forest-but-not-trees perspective with regards to Loki. Because he's talking about all the Lokis he knows, especially this variant who's causing trouble. He's upset that this other Loki is killing minutemen and causing time related troubles for him and the TVA. It's getting a bit personal.
All in all, I have a feeling that this scene was meant to show Loki's pain, but not through the therapy lens. I especially like that he got to grieve his own life alone after causing trouble in the TVA and escaping for a bit. That wasn't done in front of Mobius. It was cathartic, yes, but it's main purpose seems to be catalystic.
It's a turning point for Loki, so to say. He knows that Mobius wants something from him. He sees how his life would pan out even if he went back to his timeline. There's no going back. Going back means getting erased. Dying. Again.
So he cries and mourns himself, and he shows his vulnerability to Mobius. There's nothing else left to lose, Loki knows he's as good as dead if he doesn't move forward. Admittedly, he is shaken, he confesses about not wanting to hurt people specifically because Mobius told him that that was his purpose in life.
Loki wants to break this cycle. He's willing to take this chance, even though it's coming from a shady TVA bureaucrat. It's the only chance he has.
As for Mobius, I kinda like that we can't pin him down. He tries to act nice, then he says nasty things to Loki. He saves his life, but he manipulates him into agreeing to work with him to catch the other Loki. The uncertainty regarding his intent is driving the story forward, along with Loki's uncertainty about his whole life and identity.
That's what I got from that scene. Not that it was a therapy session.

Loki request (spoilers)
Reader is a variant who got captured by the tva, they're sent to trial and Loki saves them from getting killed bc he still owed them a favour. Yeah, Loki was definitely not taking any of this seriously. At this point, he theorized that the Avengers were laughing their asses off on this elaborate prank they were playing on him, and he decided to just wait it out. It had to stop at some point, right? There was no way that this “TVA” bullshit was actually, in any way, real.
At least . . . He believed that until he saw a familiar face.
Mobius had just saved him from being reset to the original timeline and they were walking out of the courtroom just as the doors opened and two TVA agents were walking another “criminal” in. Loki still wasn't buying this elaborate scheme so he didn’t really pay this new person much attention, until he heard the judge speak.
“Miss Y/N Y/L/N - am I correct?”
Loki froze, eyes traveling to the “criminal” passing him. He first thought that Thor had set this part of the prank up, but he knew his brother didn’t really understand how mischief really worked. Plus, Loki could tell Y/N wasn’t an illusion.
. . . So that meant she was actually here.
“Hey, wait, can I see this trial?” Loki whispered to Mobius, who glanced back at the judge and raised his eyebrows skeptically at the brunette deity. Loki added, “I just want to see a little more of how this place works, okay?”
Mobius was sure Loki was onto something and after a couple moments of thought, he agreed. At least this would give him a chance to get to know this troublemaker better, and they both shuffled into seats.
“You are correct, madame,” Y/N answered mockingly, a big grin on her face as she walked up to the podium. She then looked around in an exaggerated manner. “Well, do I get a lawyer or what?”
Loki smirked and the judge scoffed. “How do you plead?” The judge asked, dismissing her questions.
“What ‘crimes’ have I supposedly committed?”
“You have been accused of creating an alternate timeline that does not fit into the main continuum. You snuck into Odin’s vault using your Asgardian abilities  and when you used the fake Infinity Gauntlet and, in your attempt to enchant the Gauntlet to work like the actual one, you accidentally travelled forward in time and created a new timeline,” the judge summarized.
Loki smiled, amused and proud. He only wondered what led her to this.
“In my defense, I heard that my friend was in trouble and wanted to help out,” Y/N said with a shrug.
“Well, the enchantments were not supposed fully work. They were meant to just backfire on you and knock you unconscious, where you’d be imprisoned in the dungeon. But then you tried to use another powerful object in Odin’s vault which created a Nexus event, messed with your enchantment on the fake Power and Time stone, and here you are,” the judge explained.
“If I wasn’t meant to do this - why didn’t these ‘Time Keepers’ control my actions and make me do something else?” Y/N asked, changing the subject.
“I am not going to entertain you any further. In your previous statement, quote: ‘In my defense, I heard that my friend was in trouble and wanted to help out’ You have admitted your guilt and will now be reset,” the judge declared sternly.
Immediately, two TVA agents grabbed Y/N harshly and began to drag her away from the podium. Loki, who at this point had connected the dots that he was the friend she had been trying to help, knew he owed her one. He couldn’t just let her be reset and then be imprisoned. So, thinking rather quickly, he leapt up from his seat and shouted, “No!”
All heads turned to him. Y/N’s eyes went wide, not having spotted him, and Mobius was beginning to regret his decision. Loki turned to Mobius. “You need me to help you with this ‘sacred timeline’ stuff. I’ll only do it if Y/N stays,” he said, panting.
Mobius caught an angry look from the judge but his gaze settled on Y/N. After a couple moments, he sighed and relented. “Fine.”
Y/N and Loki cheered and she broke out of the agents’ grips, running to Loki who picked her up and hugged her. “That’s my girl,” Loki said, proud of her for her prank.
Mobius internally groaned. This was going to be a long day.
———————————
“So how do you know each other?” Mobius asked as he walked in-between the Asgardians, leading them to his office.
“Y/N’s been my best friend, partner in time, ever since I was little,” Loki said, grinning.
“Got it,” Mobius said, frowning. He could only imagine the mischief they had conjured.
———————————
After reviewing both of their files, Mobius had to step out for a second, leaving Loki and Y/N alone. “Let’s try to break out,” was the first thing to leave Loki’s lips.
Y/N rolled her eyes. “And suppose we do, how the hell are you gonna get the Tesseract back? Plus, I won’t wanna be imprisoned on Asgard,” she reasoned, quickly shutting the idea down.
Loki huffed. He was bored. He wanted to do something.
And he had something to do when Y/N stood up and started walking around. With a smirk, he grabbed the remote controlling Y/N’s collar and clicked it, immediately sending her back to her seat.
She turned and glared at him, and he just smirked, innocently shrugging. “I wanna have fun,” he said.
Y/N rolled her eyes and cautiously stood up again. When nothing happened, she walked around a bit more, and Loki let her . . . Until he got bored again. With another click, she reappeared on the other side of the room, in mid-walk.
Before she could protest, Loki did it again. And again. And again. He finally stopped when she got out the words, “CUT IT OUT!” and laughed to himself.
“You asshole,” Y/N grunted, beginning to walk towards him, but skidded back when Loki clicked the button just one more time.
“Oops. My finger slipped,” Loki smirked.
Y/N glared, but being reset made her lose her footing, and she tumbled to the floor, causing her best friend to cackle. Annoyed, she ran at him and managed to push him off his chair, tackling him to the floor. They rolled around, neither one gaining the upper hand for too long, until Mobius re-entered, saw the chaos, pulled Loki to his feet, and grabbed the remote, resetting Y/N so she was back in her chair.
“Hey!” Loki exclaimed, pushing Mobius off him. “No one controls my best friend!”
Y/N couldn’t tell if he was being serious or not, but smiled nonetheless. Mobius glared and grabbed Loki’s remote, resetting him so he was back in his chair. He then turned to them both.
“I’m beginning to agree with my colleagues that this-” he gestured to Loki and Y/N, “-was a bad idea.”

Lokius prompt - for some reason (illness, some wierd mishap on a mission...) Loki loses his voice temporarily. He hates it, feels frustrated and vulnerable. Some hunters tease him and he cannot defend himself without his voice (because retaliating physically would cause a lot of trouble for both him and Mobi). Fortunately, protective Mobius enters the stage and saves the day.
Mobius jogged to the locker room where they were holding Loki, frustrated that he couldn't have a single day without something going wrong when it came to the god. He slowed as he arrived on the scene and saw several hunters holding Loki's hands behind his back. The god in question didn't seem to be struggling and instead was staring at the ceiling with a weary expression, jaw clenched.
"Alright, what happened now?" Loki dropped his eyes to meet his gaze and tugged once at the tight grip on his arms. The guards shook him harshly and Loki looked at Mobius again with a raised eyebrow. Mobius cleared his throat to smother his chuckle at the clear frustration Loki felt for what he apparently thought was uncalled for.
"Your pet variant has decided to no longer be of any help to us," Hunter B-15 sneered and Mobius caught a glimpse of Loki rolling his eyes. "He refuses to cooperate and has been nothing but a liability." Mobius hummed and turned to Loki.
"And what do you have to say about that?" The god tugged at the grip on him again before shaking his head and looking at the floor. "Loki?" There was no response as he continued to stare at the floor in defeat. Mobius tilted his head. "Cat got your tongue, pussycat," he tried, knowing Loki would never let that kind of statement slide. Still nothing. He took a few steps closer so he could get a better look at him. "Hey," he murmured and Loki slowly raised his head, a muscle in his cheek twitching as he clenched his teeth harder. Mobius searched his eyes. There was frustration there, definitely, but also concern and... a touch of fear, perhaps? "Let him go," he said to the hunters and Loki perked up slightly.
"Absolutely not. He's-" Mobius held up a hand, not taking his eyes away from Loki.
"Let him use his hands." No one moved for a long moment, but Mobius's rank seemed to win out and the hunters hesitantly let go of Loki. The second they did, his hands shot forward and began moving in a flurry, too fast for Mobius to catch much. "Okay, okay, I need you to slow down a bit. What happened?" Loki took a deep breath to calm himself and began again.
He held out a fist with one hand and brought the other up with his thumb between his first two extended fingers. He circled that hand around the fist.
"Okay. What about the planet?"
With all of his fingers extended, he tapped his middle fingers to his forehead and stomach simultaneously. Mobius nodded. Next, he pointed to himself. Then he held out his index fingers and brushed one down over the other. He finished by tapping his vertical hand against his chin several times. Mobius spun to look at B-15 and the rest of the group.
"When did he stop speaking," he demanded, protectiveness and anger growing within him. There were a few nervous murmurs and then someone, an unfamiliar minuteman, spoke up.
"It was shortly after we passed these two pillars. He stopped mid sentence and then remained quiet after that." Mobius felt a tapping on his shoulder and looked back at Loki.
He held one hand out, palm up. With the other, he made a fist while extending his thumb and pinky. He brought that hand down to his palm with raised eyebrows, pushing the sign towards the minuteman. Mobius sighed.
"He's not being difficult. He can't speak because of whatever those pillars on that planet were. Yes?" He looked over at Loki for confirmation and he nodded, a relieved expression on his face as his shoulders relaxed. Mobius turned back. "He needs to be taken to the medical ward, not stripped of his only means of communication."
Without another word, he placed his hand on the small of Loki's back and guided him away. Loki's hands remained still as they walked through the halls and Mobius stayed quiet. He knew how much Loki's voice meant to him and how he had been punished before by having his mouth sewn shut. The situation had to be triggering so he rubbed at his back gently and just tried to offer a comforting presence.
When they stepped onto the elevator, Loki turned to him. He brought his fingers to his chin and then brought his hand down in a arc, an earnest expression on his face. Mobius smiled and repeated the sign back. Loki smiled and looked to the floor.
