The Mate and The New Guy - updates
Ok, everyone… I’m working on the next chapter of “The Mate” and “The New Guy.”
I have had some medical issues that have hampered my progress. I have new diagnoses and new medications. I’m so sorry for the delay.
I truly hope both chapters are worth the wait.
I also started a novel called “We Are Not Together.” It’s a friends to lovers romance that takes several twists and turns along the way.
FYI - S@x. There’s going to be a significant amount of spice in these chapters. One chapter starts off with a live scene and one chapter ends with one. I hope you enjoy it.

Good things DO come to those who wait.
Chip had to wait until the literal end to appear, but he is by far getting the most attention. (Though sometimes people don't know who he is and are instead wondering, "Was the New Guy supposed to look like Callen?" or "Were we supposed to think Hetty cloned Callen?" It's great.
And the more I think about it, the luckier I think we are that it happened when it did. Because it was really an excellent button to the series on so many levels. The show had a new agent there, trying to be part of a "team," and not being given a full name. Sabatino even made a point to note that he doesn't get one yet.
It was fun symbolism of the full circle for Callen's journal, and it served as both a mirror to Callen of the Past and a contrast with Callen of the Pressent. He "earned" not only his full name after becoming part of the team and family, but truly discovered his identity.
From symbolism to meta jokes, Gemmill obviously packed the appearance with layers because there's no mistaking that he looks so much like Callen and then you start to note all the other similarities.
I mean, yes, there's a good chance Nell sought him out and picked him because he looked like a young Callen, and she thought he would make excellent Hetty bait. But still works!

Eliza was in the music video for Simple Plan's "I'm Just a Kid" which was on the 2002 soundtrack for "The New Guy." The movie premiered in May 2002.
SMG was in the music video for Simple Plan's "Don't Wanna Think About You" which was on the 2004 soundtrack for "Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed." (Technically SMG appears for much less time in her video, compared to Eliza, but it still counts.)
