I don't play Gbf so what did Ferdinand do to deserve your hate?
i'll put the details under the cut but i think the cw will be probably telling enough.
Also remember gbf is a +18 game so when it tackles really heavy stuff, it's, really heavy, and detailed.
cw: child grooming, cannibalism, forced cannibalism, extreme child abuse, torture, manipulation.
honestly do i really need to go into details when you have this list.
and for the record, this is him:
I wish him the most painful of deaths.
He's the antagonist of the event called Marionette Stars, which centers characters who have been chosen by formidable weapons sent by the stars themselves, all associated to Western Zodiac Constellation. (the weapons are called "Vintage weapons" or "Horoscope")
Ferdinand's main motivation is to trigger series of events that would unlock the potential of all of the "chosen ones".
He first appears in Tikoh's story.
Tikoh was chosen by a healing staff that could allow her to heal stuff that couldn't be normally healed. After coming to her on the brick of death to test how well she could heal him, Ferdinand went to Tikoh's best friend's house, a young girl called Shannon. (young as in like, she must be 11 or something.)
He murdered Shannon's father in front of her, then, started going on about "being her new dad", and "and i already brought a well made dinner for you :)" before forcing Shannon and her mother to *eat the fresh corpse of the father*. You're privy to the whole scene in details, as he forces her to eat every single bit while forcing her to call him "father", making all sort of mentions about how they're really "taking the new dad *in* the family" and stuff like that. It's horrifying to read.
When Tikoh comes to visit Shannon later, and Ferdinand pretends to be the dad while both Shannon and her mom sounds hollow, she realizes something is wrong, and when the mother cries for help, Ferdinand decapitates her before stabbing Shannon who's screaming her lungs out.
Tikoh panics, Ferdinand sets the village on fire, tells her full blown that it's all thanks to her for having saved his life, and then he leaves. Tikoh tries to save Shannon's life but can't restore her body, so she tests the limit of her staff by linking Shannon's soul to her own, which forces her to relive all of the memories Shannon just had of the cannibalism.
Tikoh, and Shannon inside of her, have since been on a path of revenge against Ferdinand, unaware Ferdinand set everything into motion for them to fit the fate of their star sign, which is: Gemini, two souls in one.
When he will meet Tikoh later, he will constantly calls her Shannon and tell her "you've come to see your daddy didn't you <333" over and over again.
But it's not the only child Ferdinand ruined the life of.
Another child who also was chosen by a weapon was groomed by Ferdinand.
His name is Ragazzo. When he was a kid, his parents would constantly beat the shit out of him, to the brink of death, with the mom always healing Ragazzo just in time so his father could start beating him up again. We learn that it's because Ragazzo was not doing well in school and since his parents were noble folks, they thought he brought shame upon them, which is why they beat him up, over and over and over again.
Trying desperately to be loved by his parents, Ragazzo, then aged, what, 10?, got wind of a pair of magical fire fists, that he stole from his school in order to have better grades in magic.
when his parents learnt of the theft, they beat the shit out of him again so much so that it brought him near death, which led to Ragazzo snapping and starting a fire, which killed them both. Ferdinand appeared at this instant and hugged Ragazzo, telling him that his parents truly didn't understand him, and that *he* was proud of him, and would be here for him anytime.
being loved for once in his life, Ragazzo devoted his whole life to Ferdinand, desperate for the love of a father, even if it means committing all sort of crimes for him.
The twist? is that Ferdinand had infiltrated the school board and specifically sabotaged Ragazzo's grades, so they don't reflect actually his talents or anything, and then he went to talk to Ragazzo's parents and talked them into beating Ragazzo up. He's the reason Ragazzo's life was hell, because he set everything into motion so Ragazzo not only would snap, but would have such an undying devotion to him.
When we meet Ragazzo (now about 18), he's fully devoted to Ferdinand, committing murders for him if needed, and ends up genuinely shocked when two members of our crew, Feather and Randall, do actually try to bond with him and understand him. Feather in particular has this whole... ethos about how if he fights someone he can know what's in their hearts, and it's why he believes there's good in Ragazzo's heart.
Feather and Randall also respectively gets chosen by Horoscope weapons during this whole arc, and because of that, while Ragazzo is fighting to protect Ferdinand's castle, Ragazzo pushes himself to the limit and merges completely with his fire fists. The fists are no longer weapons, but part of his arms.
But because of the resonance between their weapons, Feather and Randall gets to see Ragazzo's memories and, after all three of them are exhausted from the fight, unable to move, they talk together and Ragazzo reflects about how those two are trying to connect with him.
It's when they're all unable to move that Ferdinand comes back into the room, and Ragazzo tries to justify himself, that he did everything he could, and Ferdinand hushes him, tells him he knows, that he's *so proud of him* and he did exactly what Ferdinand wanted of him.
Ie: merging with the weapon. Which is where Ferdinand reveals to Ragazzo that he was the one who set everything in motion. Before *cutting Ragazzo's arms in order to take the weapon back with him now that Ragazzo had awakened it*, while no one can move to stop him.
That's the moment the rest of our group, which included Tikoh, enters the room, and of course Tikoh is taken with rage and tries to kill Ferdinand. That's when Ferdinand starts to refer to her as Shannon and about how she must be sooo happy to see daddy again.
Before mentioning that Ragazzo's situation right now is going to kill him, and only Tikoh's healing powers can save him, so now Tikoh has a choice. Continuing her revenge and try to chase down Ferdinand to kill him, or save Ragazzo's life. "but i know my little Shannon. I know you cannot hurt people." as he says.
It's filled with rage that Tikoh has to accept that he's right, as she runs to save Ragazzo's life instead while Ferdinand is allowed to escape.
The story ends currently with Ragazzo being in a coma with us, while Feather and Randall are beating themselves up for how they couldn't protect him, while Tikoh is furious that her revenge escaped her.
We then learn that Ferdinand has an entire organization backing him up, which includes him having been keeping an eye on all of the possible chosen in order to trigger them and their powers in different level, including others members of our crew in general.
And he has multiple children who were picked by the weapons in his army, one of which who joined our crew to spy on us and betray us but ended up caring for us so much that now she's thinking about switching sides, and we learnt that her whole trauma that drove her into Ferdinand's arms to start with was also completely set up by the organization as well. (as a result she grew up with Ragazzo though so at least she's relieved at the possibility that both her and Ragazzo could have anothr chance away from Ferdinand). But none of those kids have stories as traumatic as Ragazzo and Tikoh.
And like i said. gbf is a +18 game. You see every single detail. It's not just "slightly mentioned", you WILL sit through the scenes of abuses and horrors with all the sounds effect that comes with it.
So personally i am hunting him down for sports. Out of all the antagonists gbf ever made, this is the one that unleashed such a massive amount of rage inside of me.
the Marionette Stars saga just really started last year, so we're doomed to see more of Ferdinand in the future.
I sure wish him the most painful of death.
The more you know!!!

New Things to Beware on the Internet
On May 3rd, Google released 8 new top-level domains (TLDs) -- these are new values like .com, .org, .biz, domain names. These new TLDs were made available for public registration via any domain registrar on May 10th.
Usually, this should be a cool info, move on with your life and largely ignore it moment.
Except a couple of these new domain names are common file type extensions: ".zip" and ".mov".
This means typing out a file name could resolve into a link that takes you to one of these new URLs, whether it's in an email, on your tumblr blog post, a tweet, or in file explorer on your desktop.
What was previously plain text could now resolve as link and go to a malicious website where people are expecting to go to a file and therefore download malware without realizing it.
Folk monitoring these new domain registrations are already seeing some clearly malicious actors registering and setting this up. Some are squatting the domain names trying to point out what a bad idea this was. Some already trying to steal your login in credentials and personal info.
This is what we're seeing only 12 days into the domains being available. Only 5 days being publicly available.
What can you do? For now, be very careful where you type in .zip or .mov, watch what website URLs you're on, don't enable automatic downloads, be very careful when visiting any site on these new domains, and do not type in file names without spaces or other interrupters.
I'm seeing security officers for companies talking about wholesale blocking .zip and .mov domains from within the company's internet, and that's probably wise.
Be cautious out there.

because sometimes there are invisible tests and invisible rules and you're just supposed to ... know the rule. someone you thought of as a friend asks you for book recommendations, so you give her a list of like 30 books, each with a brief blurb and why you like it. later, you find out she screenshotted the list and send it out to a group chat with the note: what an absolute freak can you believe this. you saw the responses: emojis where people are rolling over laughing. too much and obsessive and actually kind of creepy in the comments. you thought you'd been doing the right thing. she'd asked, right? an invisible rule: this is what happens when you get too excited.
you aren't supposed to laugh at your own jokes, so you don't, but then you're too serious. you're not supposed to be too loud, but then people say you're too quiet. you aren't supposed to get passionate about things, but then you're shy, boring. you aren't supposed to talk too much, but then people are mad when you're not good at replying.
you fold yourself into a prettier paper crane. since you never know what is "selfish" and what is "charity," you give yourself over, fully. you'd rather be empty and over-generous - you'd rather eat your own boundaries than have even one person believe that you're mean. since you don't know what the thing is that will make them hate you, you simply scrub yourself clean of any form of roughness. if you are perfect and smiling and funny, they can love you. if you are always there for them and never admit what's happening and never mention your past and never make them uncomfortable - you can make up for it. you can earn it.
don't fuck up. they're all testing you, always. they're tolerating you. whatever secret club happened, over a summer somewhere - during some activity you didn't get to attend - everyone else just... figured it out. like they got some kind of award or examination that allowed them to know how-to-be-normal. how to fit. and for the rest of your life, you've been playing catch-up. you've been trying to prove that - haha! you get it! that the joke they're telling, the people they are, the manual they got- yeah, you've totally read it.
if you can just divide yourself in two - the lovable one, and the one that is you - you can do this. you can walk the line. they can laugh and accept you. if you are always-balanced, never burdensome, a delight to have in class, champagne and glittering and never gawky or florescent or god-forbid cringe: you can get away with it.
you stare at your therapist, whom you can make jokes with, and who laughs at your jokes, because you are so fucking good at people-pleasing. you smile at her, and she asks you how you're doing, and you automatically say i'm good, thanks, how are you? while the answer swims somewhere in your little lizard brain:
how long have you been doing this now? mastering the art of your body and mind like you're piloting a puppet. has it worked? what do you mean that all you feel is... just exhausted. pick yourself up, the tightrope has no net. after all, you're cheating, somehow, but nobody seems to know you actually flunked the test. it's working!
aren't you happy yet?
