Jesus: Son of God

It's the little things in life that help me see God. The deluge that pours just seconds after I'm home safe ─ like a friend who holds an umbrella over my head for just a second more.
In the life of a loved one, helped just a bit more before despair ─ not comfortable, but endurable. Even if there's a late bus.
But also, when compared to others, how taken for granted it all used to be. Before that little spark of something (helped by the mundane), shows me the little ways my life is shaped and veered by will higher than my own.

The Ten Commandments _ Exodus 20:1-17
20 And God spoke all these words, saying:
2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 “You shall have no other gods before Me.
4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;
 5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,
 6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
7 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.
 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day.
Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
12 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
13 “You shall not murder.
14 “You shall not commit adultery.
15 “You shall not steal.
16 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”

Revelation 5
The Lion, the Lamb
5 I saw that there was a scroll in the right hand of the one sitting on the throne. The scroll was written on the inside and the outside, and it was sealed with seven seals. 2 I saw a strong angel announcing in a loud voice, ‘Does anybody deserve to open the scroll, to undo its seals?’ 3 And nobody in heaven or on the earth or under the earth could open the scroll or look at it. 4 I burst into tears because it seemed that there was nobody who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside it. 5 One of the elders, however, spoke to me. ‘Don’t cry,’ he said. ‘Look! The lion from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has won the victory! He can open the scroll and its seven seals.’
6 Then I saw in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, a lamb. It was standing there as though it had been slaughtered; it had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. 7 The lamb came up and took the scroll from the right hand of the one who was sitting on the throne.
Worthy Is the Lamb!
8 When he took the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down in front of the lamb. They each had a harp, and they each had golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s holy people. 9 They sing a new song, which goes like this:
‘You are worthy to take the scroll;
you are worthy to open its seals;
for you were slaughtered and with your own blood
you purchased a people for God,
from every tribe and tongue,
from every people and nation
10 and made them a kingdom and priests to our God
and they will reign on the earth.’
11 As I watched, I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures and the elders. Their number was ten thousand times ten thousand, thousands upon thousands, 12 and they were saying in full voice,
‘The slaughtered lamb has now deserved
to take the riches and the power,
to take the wisdom, strength and honour,
to take the glory, and the blessing.’
13 Then I heard every creature in heaven, on the earth, under the earth, and in the sea, and everything that is in them, saying,
‘To the One on the throne and the lamb
be blessing and honour and glory
and power for ever and ever!’
14 ‘Amen!’ cried the four living creatures. As for the elders, they fell down and worshipped.

With carrying my whole life, the pain I've had and hid away for so long. God has uncovered it for me. He has held me close in a tight hug, telling me it'll be okay. With tears in my eyes, I say thank you. Thank you, Lord, for bringing me home and showing me the right direction and the path you've created for me. I know this pain won't last forever, that you're here for me, holding my hand as the father I never had. I'm ever so grateful for the chance I've been given to learn about you, God, your son, the word, and the gospel, which is so powerful that it needs to be shared. Pain is not everlasting, but your love is. <3

Scripture of the Day - April 9 2024 Who, or What was the Prince of Tyrus, and Why is He Not Mentioned in Our History Books? From the Bible’s King James Version, with Strong’s Definitions Part 2 of a 2-part Series
PROCLAMATIONS FOR THE KING OF TYRUS, CALLING HIM PRINCE OR COMMANDER *Ezekiel 28:2-10 - Son of man, say unto the prince (H5046 - a commander (as occupying the front), civil, military or religious; generally (abstract plural), honorable themes: - captain, chief, excellent thing, (chief) governor, leader, noble, prince, (chief) ruler) of Tyrus, "Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because your heart is lifted up, and you have said, 'I am a God, I sit in the seat H3427 - to sit down (specifically as judge, in ambush, in quiet) of God, in the midst of the seas';
*Verse 2b - Yet you are a MAN (H120 - ruddy-faced X another, + hypocrite), and not God, though you set your heart as the heart of God:
*Verse 3 - Behold, you are wiser than Daniel (he could not have been human, for God had said about Solomon—there was no one with such a wise and kind heart before, nor after him - 1st Kings 3:12); There is no secret that they can hide from you: (Imagine him as Siri on your cellphone)
*Verse 5 - With your wisdom and with your understanding you have gotten you riches, and have gotten gold and silver into your treasures; and by your great wisdom and by your TRAFFIC (H7402 - to travel for trading) you have increased your riches, and your heart is lifted up because of your riches:
*Verse 6 - Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because you have set your heart (H3824 - the mind regarding themselves) as the heart of God;
*Verse 7 - Behold, therefore I will bring strangers upon you--the TERRIBLE OF THE NATIONS (this is a nickname the Lord had given to the Roman and Grecian Emperors, i.e. - Alexander the Great in this case) and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall DEFILE (H2470 - to be rubbed or worn)  your BRIGHTNESS .(H3314 - splendor).
*Verse 8 - They shall bring you down to the pit, and you shall DIE (H2490 - to BREAK AS IF BY AN OPENING-WEDGE) the deaths of them that are slain in the midst of the SEAS (H3220 - a roar, or loud noise). Will you yet say before him that slays you, “I am God”? … but you shall be a man (or ‘ruddy’ humanoid AI?), and no God—in the hand of him that slayeth you. You shalt die the deaths of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers: for I have spoken it, saith Jehovah.”
[In yesterday’s post we learned by Hebrew definitions—that when the King of Tyrus had been disabled and cast down to the ground by Jehovah—kings of the earth gathered to examine his parts and were astonished and terrified when a fire broke out from his insides and burnt him to ashes as they beheld!]
And the day before, we learned that Tyrus was an island similar to Atlantis. Isaiah’s chapter 23 is all about Tyrus; He said this: “Howl, ye inhabitants of the isle. Is this your joyous city, whose ‘ANTIQUITY is of ancient days’? her own feet shall carry her afar off to sojourn. And when the forbidden files of Rome’s secret libraries are discovered—I believe we’ll see that they had fled to Mars before Ephraim’s tribe and the Assyrians (Romans); and that the Assyrians had a place similar to the ‘space station’ to which they had sent the most ardent of the Christians. But the Tyrians, after being out of commission for 70 years according to Isaiah—returned to her trafficking and provided ‘sufficient food and durable clothing’ for them - Isaiah 23:18.

God is not deaf to your cries. He's not deaf to your prayers. His hand is not idle to your situation. God is working. We need only be still.

it drives me bonkers the way people don't know how to read classic books in context anymore. i just read a review of the picture of dorian gray that said "it pains me that the homosexual subtext is just that, a subtext, rather than a fully explored part of the narrative." and now i fully want to put my head through a table. first of all, we are so lucky in the 21st century to have an entire category of books that are able to loudly and lovingly declare their queerness that we've become blind to the idea that queerness can exist in a different language than our contemporary mode of communication. second it IS a fully explored part of the narrative! dorian gray IS a textually queer story, even removed from the context of its writing. it's the story of toxic queer relationships and attraction and dangerous scandals and the intertwining of late 19th century "uranianism" and misogyny. second of all, i'm sorry that oscar wilde didn't include 15k words of graphic gay sex with ao3-style tags in his 1890 novel that was literally used to convict him of indecent behaviour. get well soon, i guess...

Not to be absolutely unhinged but I think that if I buy enough tiny plastic tubs to continue breaking down every possession I own into discrete categories then eventually I will live in a home where I don't constantly have a large pile of completely miscellaneous nicknacks in the middle of the floor constantly and forever until I die
Current box count is 56
