All the other participants of the Long Walk: Rub bloody calluses, die from burst blisters, take off their shoes and go barefoot when the heel flies off. Stebbins: THE ONLY fucking person WHO THOUGHT of taking a change of shoes with him. The only one. Out of a hundred people. Each of whom, probably, saw the previous dozens of Walks at least on TV. Where people walk in bloody socks.

Stebbins, what do you think about the level of training of your competitors?
