Most of the time, you and Yedam could escape whatever shmuck was interviewing strangers on the street just by keeping your heads down and walking fast enough. Whether they were students on a mission to try and make people aware of whatever rising issue was going on (sometimes a worthy cause, in your opinion, until it ends up being some guy trying to convince people that crypto is the next big thing and will return better than ever), other times its whatever loser deciding that their YouTube channel is worth more than the comfort of strangers who are just trying to go about their day. People like that were the reason the two of you avoided certain areas of your campus, and certain busy places in the city. But he had wanted to take you out to a nice place in the city (nice as in the food was good and cheap, nothing too fancy), and you’d been waiting for hours for him to finish his vocal choir rehearsal, so you agreed to it easily enough. This was meant to make it up to you for rehearsal running too late, despite that being completely out of his control. You weren’t about to turn down good food, especially with even better company.

And, of course, when you saw whatever random dude walking around with a fake microphone, you tried to tug Yedam in a different direction. The guy seemed to notice, gesturing to his cameraperson to follow his lead as he approached the two of you.

Before Yedam could politely try to excuse the two of you, a lie about a reservation on the tip of his tongue, the guy spoke up, “What’s the best part of being in love?”

See... You loved Yedam with your entire damn heart. Honestly, you felt pretty sure he felt the same way about you. And while that was a good thing...

That was also a bad thing, because Yedam could, and would, talk about you for hours if one of his friends made the mistake of asking the wrong questions. It was sweet, sure, but definitely not good when you were starving and you could smell street food... Even if the cute, cheesy smile on his face was a welcome sight.

“There’s a lot of good things,” he said, taking the microphone as he rocked on his heels a little, squeezing your hand slightly. “They’re always there for me when I need them to be,” he started, “and I know I can depend on them when I need help with writing music.” He looked back at you, still smiling that pretty, bright smile. You buried your face in his jacket sleeve, only to hear him continue on with the story of how you brought him tea and soup when he was sick once and that it was sweet how much you took care of him.

“Yedam--” You tried to interject, squeezing his hand a little tighter--both out of pure embarrassment and as a way to get him to hurry up.

Yet he had already started on another story, talking about how you forgave him when he spilled iced coffee on you during your first date, and that he loved how understanding you could be. It was nice to be understood, and he thought that was something that came with loving someone. Another tug on his hand earned a glance from him, only for him to chuckle at how flustered you were becoming. “And--”

You reached out, yanking the cameraperson’s phone from their grasp. You cut off the recording there, and hold it back for a moment. “Delete this and I’ll pay you ten dollars.”

The two exchange a glance, and you watch them delete it before pulling out your wallet. Yedam watched you, lost as you pulled out two fives and shoved it into their hands before grabbing his and pulling him away.

“Did I do something wrong?”

You looked back at him. “I don’t want the internet to call you a simp.”

Thankfully, Yedam knew that you were his soft spot based off the times that he’d get started on talking about you and someone would groan. It didn’t bother him, to be honest: he had you. That was enough to brighten his mood back up. Even if he couldn’t tell everyone every wonderful thing about you, he still had you. He laughed, pressing your knuckles against his lips.

“See? You always think about me,” he said, swinging your hands. “That’s why I love you.”

“That wasn’t even the question, Damie!”

Damn why do the incest ships somehow have better pun names that most ships I've seen? Wtf. I degrees. And agree, nu-fandom is overall soft and PC to the point they've shot themselves in the foot a couple times here and there either being so aggressively PC they are actually offensive and rely heavily on stereotypes only to turn around and say stereotypes bad. Or they are too faux pass in their attempts to seem progressive, idolizing white passing abled body lesbians or trans woman while leaving out anyone who doesn't fit that or biting at anyone who points out their homophobia, transphobia, ablesm, racism, and so forth.

Example: pretty sure one of the differences between earth and alternia is factual speaking the woman generally have more power than men? It's a queendom not a kingdom afterall, plus Karkat implied this a few times that men in troll culture are generally seen as weaker and emotional than raw emotional power houses that women are seen as. Or whatever, he calls nerdy violent things girly when they're seen as manly on earth.

I've only seen blogs that mention it in like deep dives or random ass trivia. Like hey fandom, your gothic rose of the rose Mary duo is infact Jewish. Gothic Queer Jewish rep??? Hello????? They hype up the fact she's POC, or heavily headcanoned by the dubious canon epilogues era of canon writers to be but...like no mention of the fact she's Jewish. Ever.

Also the fandom hates pale skinned minority groups period, not everyone who has pale or general light 'white passing' skin is white. Asian people and Latinos who are white passing exist, for example. But they also LOVE to make the "good" characters (or loved by the fandom collective anyways) that they declare POC coded lighter skinned than their direct family who is seen as 'bad' which they make darker skinned in turn. Example is Meeneh is often depicted with Darker skin than Feferi in the fandom like a lot.

And you know it's not a fanon copying 'problematic' canon problem because this shit is happening exclusively in the fandom where it's common place to give trolls toned skin based on their blood color, or to imply they'd be POC or whatever if they were human I guess??? All the while all the trolls across the board in canon have the same tone of grey skin.

Why do the fuck the fandom has to throttle canon for being racist only to turn around and be actually racist themselves??? The fuck?

It is often the hypocrisy. The nu-fandom claims believe they are progressive, but don't see the implications of racism and sexism they would create themselves. To go far as spread misinformation on saying things like "Gamzee and Meenah are black caricatures in the webcomic". I'm just here like....why?!

as someone who is merely a vtuber artist and not much of a streamer myself it constantly boggles my mind when people talk about the way some vtubers interact with each other, like addressing each other in character and trying to basically RP and be weirdly sexual and/or romantic like... I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. Maybe just downplay acting "in character" when you're off-stream? Idk like I said I've never experienced it myself.

as someone who used to roleplay her ocs with friends and other community members on this website (from a different fandom), i'm also just very confused??? 😭 maybe it's bc i consider my vtuber a persona, a version of me, and not one of my usual OCs that i'm just very uncomfortable with what seems to be the norm. i could never rp daphne, it'd feel like my self-insert arc (from middle school) all over again LMAO

i've even had some random dude on discord from a server i was using solely for emotes try to initiate "sweet and sensual e-rp" out of nowhere, solely bc of my icon ft. my vtuber. i never posted in the server or talked to the guy!! learned real quick after that you could turn off messages from fellow server members :')

i think with the mix of being anonymous online and having a "hot anime character" as a 'mask', people are a little more brazen than they would be normally. the GFE/BFE gains a lot of attention and i feel like hololive does push the 'idol' aspect a bit hard for gachikois bc $$$$$$, but i just wish people would think before they start chatting up random people on the internet bc "their character is cute"

but yeah, you might be right, i might have to turn off the 'character' in dms and keep it to public posts only 😔 it's exhausting when i have to do it 100% of the time with 15 different convos going on...

so I’m going to drop a controversial opinion here and I know his fans will come for me but I don’t care. kang max has appeared out of nowhere after being a ghost of a trainee for six years and suddenly he’s gained some spotlight and people are freaking out but he’s just not. cutting. it! he got called out for his sad attempt at standing out in a posted eval video, then he proceeds to rank last in the final of future dreams after completely embarrassing himself on lgc style. I just don’t understand how anyone can see this guy as valid idol potential? didn’t he talk about getting cut from debut line ups before in one of his interviews? like- why is legacy still keeping him signed? I just don’t get it. he’s wasting resources they could invest in other hopefuls that are more promising than this washed up dude.

Note: I don't know why this took me so long? Like bad shitty boards were made, tears were shed. But I finally did it and I hope you will like it!

Isagi Yoichi

• Okay I feel like he doesn't care about fashion. He would most likely wear any graphic tee and some jeans.

• When it gets cold he prefers to wear oversized sweaters, he just feels super comfortable in them

• He likes to wear muted colors, especially blue although I think that dark olive green would suit him so good

• And yes, he will let you steal his clothes because he thinks you look way better in them

• He is way more into sneakers, like I said he doesn't know that much about fashion. But he doesn't mess around when it comes to sneakers. Since his taste is so basic. Isagi really appreciates when you buy him some clothes because he really likes your taste.

Bachira Meguru

• Bachira's mother sews his clothes, she started doing it when he was young and just didn't stop

• He loves wearing baggy pants, you know those jeans that look like you took a bunch of different jean fabric and just sew everything together to make one pair of jeans? Yeah, those look so good on him

• Color block tees look great on him, he can play with colors so well because he doesn't care that much about his clothing, if his mother is happy so is he.

• If you like to sew he would definitely ask you to make him something. And when you do he wouldn't want to take it off. Also, please, please make him a bucket hat or a froggy hat, it would look so cute on him

Chigir Hyoma

• Chigiri's sister helped him develop his fashion sense. His outfits look effortlessly good, but that just comes with his confidence.

• He likes wearing turtlenecks and long coats, he sticks to warm colors and mixes them with black checkered pants would look good on him too.

• Chigiri trusts your judgment and lets you pick out some stuff for him, and if you want he can return the favor

• Hear me out folks wouldn't Chigiru look stunning with rings? Like just imagine he probably has the prettiest hands and when he puts on his rings? Game over

Kunigami Rensuke

• This one is a given, but it needs to be said. Kunigami would wear athletic clothing. And you can't complain because it looks so good on him. He prefers Adidas over Nike or any other sports brand for that matter

• You could always ask to pick out an outfit for him and he would humor your request

• But since we know Kunigami likes to play fair, you have to let him choose an outfit for you. There is no reason to doubt him! Kunigami has an older sister so that must mean he will do a good job! Right?

• Well kinda, he tried his best but he mixed two patterns that DO NOT go well together, you still wear it though because you love him.

Nagi Seishiro

• Would look effortlessly good in anything pt.2 expect he actually doesn't put in any effort, like at all. Nagi just shoves his hands in his closet and what comes out is his outfit for the day.

• But they always manage to look good? Probably because everything in his closet is either white, black or grey.

• Although he does have this one baby blue tee that you bought him and that's the only piece of clothing he genuinely likes or tries to make an actual outfit out of. He can be soft like that

• When you ask him if something looks good on you he would always say: "You could wear a trash bag and I would still think you are the most beautiful person ever, legit."

Reo Mikage

• Ever since he was a child he was taught that clothes make a man. It was super important that people know he comes from a well of family

• He never grew out of that habit, Reo always looks sharp and overdressed. Standing next to him makes you feel super awkward sometimes

• But not to worry, he makes sure that your closet is full of fancy clothing in case you to go out to some overpriced restaurant

• I feel like he owns a lot of suits, he is really trying to broaden his horizons by wearing streetwear. And when I say streetwear I mean Supreme or something along those lines.

Niko Ikki

• E boy alert! No but really, he used to dress like this way before it became a thing. He likes layering his shirts, and letting his socks be seen a bit

• Buy him happy socks and you can watch him internally struggle on what to do. Like he loves you and wants to wear them, but Jesus, why did they have to be bright yellow that's gonna destroy his whole look.

• In the end he will wear them just not that often

• Niko has a lot of chains! He hooks them to his jeans and sometimes he wears them around his neck. You can always take him shopping with you and trust his amazing eyes to help you pick out the perfect items

Rin Itoshi

• Exclusively wears black and white. Acts like any other color is poisonous, the white he has in his outfits is just in the details

• Like Chigiri, Rin looks amazing in checkered pants, and his closet is full of turtlenecks, black office shirts and polo shirts.

• He enjoys wearing long coats. This dude always looks like a model and you feel like one next to him. Rin always wears a watch that you bought him for one of his birthdays, he sees it as a good luck charm although he would never tell you that.

• Buy his something red, please! It can be something with just red details, so he can get used to some color, but red would look absolutely amazing on him!

Hiori Yo

• Hiori has a collection of overalls and baggy sweaters. He dresses like those soft boys you see on Pinterest.

• I feel like yellow and purple suit him really well, he doesn't wear that much black and leans more towards softer colors.

• However, that doesn't mean he wouldn't look breathtaking in something that is viewed more as masculine like a suit.

• You guys are the perfect couple! If you have a darker aesthetic, you two are the perfect picture of opposites attract. If you happen to have the same soft aesthetic as him, you guys would be the cutest couple ever like you could easily become internet famous.

Kenyu Yukimiya

• You can't convince me that he doesn't dress like a kpop idol. He was stopped multiple times by some random teenagers asking him what group was he in.

• And you can't hide the little ping of jealousy everytime that happens. Like you know your boyfriend is attractive. So can they stop asking him to shake their hand

• One girl asked you to take a picture of her and Kenyu, and you just had to do it with a smile, the minute you gave her the phone back tho you kissed Kenyu in front of her. Don't worry he thought it was cute

• Kenyu loves it when you wear his sweaters, he showers you in compliments all the time. But when you happen to wear his sweater the compliments double

do you consider your listeners fans or friends? I know everyone feels differently about how much distance to keep from they're listeners. you're always pretty open though

I mean, being quick to befriend random people on the internet is always a good way to find yourself in some shitty and uncomfortable situations even if you’re not a weird internet guy who makes fuck noises for a living, so a blanket “all listeners are friends!” is a no go.

That said, I have made several very real and very awesome friendships through getting to know people in my community. I’m not always super accessible, but through fucking around and hanging out in a controlled, safe environment (i.e. a moderated Discord server) I’ve made friends. My circle of best friends is almost entirely composed of people I met through being YuuriVoice.

But here’s the deal, it’s reallyyyyy easy to spot people who have clearly put me on a pedestal and idolize me in some way, which often puts me in a very uncomfortable position. I don’t just like...wanna chat with randos who just want special attention from the guy who made their bits feel all tingly with his vocal chords, I wanna be treated like an actual...person. I know, shocking. lol

So, fans, yes. Listeners are fans. But I do think I am approachable, or I try to be. I’m certainly open. I don’t play up a facade or even stay hidden. Hell, I used to be a chronic oversharer. Now I’ve found balance, I think.

The hardest part is making sure people wanna know me for the right reasons. I’ve had a lot of situations where shit went sideways because people didn’t get special attention or...something. IDK, uncomfortable stuff.

Just be cool and treat me like a normal ass dude and you’re already halfway there. The other half is I’m shy and cannot maintain many relationships in general. lol

where the villains are the heroes

under cut: my bnha oc moxie, a ‘villain’

Moxie Stevens was as normal as you could get, you know, if you ignored his first name. Pretty average, brown hair he dyed an array of colors, brown eyes, pretty average looking dude, pretty average personality, intelligence, all of it.

Hallucinogen was another story.

Sure, Moxie had his funky traits; He loved cola flavored candy despite everyone else’s hatred for it, he came to Japan when he was 14 with his family even though he didn’t speak a lick of Japanese, he definitely dressed in a more alternative style… But nothing really compared to Hallucinogen, and nothing ever would. How do you compare yourself to a villain who just can’t be beat, who dresses like an anime villain, acts like one too, who’s quirk was so hard to snap out of that he almost beat Endeavor in a cage-fight until the police got there?

The answer was simple, you just couldn’t. Despite his claim to fame, Hallucinogen wasn’t a wanted villain, he was barely even known-- He had moments here and there, but it seemed like he kept his head down, didn’t really do much villainy outside of seemingly random bursts of action.

Moxie was just as equally unknown. No one paid attention to him, he could strip naked and set himself on fire and people still wouldn’t notice him. Not that that was particularly a bad thing, of course, Moxie found it was easier to navigate under the radar, just him and his snack sitting on the park bench, waiting for something cool to happen.

He had a pretty average life, too. Two parents, one other sibling, the perfect nuclear family, they lived in a little three bedroom, two bath house, Moxie had a pet cat… His family was happy, had normal jobs, did normal things. He was definitely the oddball of the family.

His dad could alter memories on a small scale, changing the color of something in one’s mind, but his mom had something akin to telekinesis, she could make people stop moving, or draw things to her if she tensed her hands. His sister could hypnotize people and suggest things to them all by fanning out her hands.

And Moxie, well, Moxie could do a lot.

His eyes wandered towards a man walking in the park, loudly talking on his phone. Just as he was about to pass in front of the boy, he snarled out a string of curses, and Moxie rolled his eyes, taking a drink from his can of soda as he curled his hand into a fist. The sound of the cell phone hitting the ground a few seconds later certainly brought him some joy.

That’s how it went. The only unaverage thing about Moxie was his quirk, he flexed, and people around him saw something terrifying of his choosing. He opted for spiders this time, it always worked, and watched as the man turned and ran down the path he came from. His fault for ruining Moxie’s quiet time.

Sure, you could say Moxie was evil, plenty had, but how evil was it to just wanted a little quiet, or for people to do their jobs? The boy had meddled with some less than ideal things in the past, mostly just helping to clean up after a big name, sneaking certain items back and forth on the street, but things really kicked into gear with one Hero-Killer Stain made his debut. His message got spread all across the internet, and Moxie found himself spurred into action.

Heroes were important. Heroes needed a place. Heroes were a hazard. Heroes were corrupt. These were all statements that co-existed in Moxie’s head-- He appreciated the work heroes did, even idolized a few of them, but any questioning of them was seen as a threat, akin to villainy, so Moxie had to make up a whole new persona just to navigate without a crowd of hero-simps coming for him.

He was walking now, the dropped phone in hand as he scrolled aimlessly through the browsing history, over various apps, even played a few of the games as he walked before he casually tossed the phone on some grass. Moxie’s own phone rang now, the default tune playing as he fished his old smartphone from his pocket and answered it. “Moxie.” He said simply, waiting for a reply.

“Moxie! I have a request!”

“Jeez, pal, I was supposed to have a day off,” Moxie replied jokingly, absentmindedly fiddling with his wallet chain as he walked, “But alright, just because it’s you.”

“Please get Magne a pint of ice cream.”

Moxie didn’t pause his walking, but he went quiet for a few seconds, mulling over the request in his head before he sighed, “You’re both drunk at her place, aren’t you?”

“Yes! No.”

“Yeah, I’ll get the lady something nice, don’t worry.” Moxie replied, “Be over in a few minutes.”

He heard Magne in the background, cooing her thanks to him, and he just replied with hums of affirmation before he hung up. Moxie was always called to help Magne out, and he didn’t expect anything less-- He helped her escape after all. Sweet girl, living her best life now that she was nice and safe, enough money to start her journey in life, her girlfriend was more than pleased with Moxie’s help too. Always thanked him when he showed up with a new gift.

He couldn’t complain, they were fun to hang out with, and he was always happy to help another good-hearted-villain.

Moxie scrolled through store listings on his phone, trying to find a nearby store, but his head snapped up with the shattering of glass as he looked across the street, watching some poor schmuck with a mutation quirk book it down the street, obviously battered a bit as he was chased by someone in a hero suit. He was going to ignore it, at first, because robberies weren’t his business, but then he noticed the formula clutched in the mutants hands and..

Moxie flexed, it was subtle but he did, eyes digging into the hero giving chase and following them down as they fell to the ground, completely sure that the concrete below had given way to an endless void. Others paused to stare, and Moxie tried to feign innocence and confusion as the hero shouted for help. Once he was certain the thief was gone, he relaxed, turning towards the store and walking in.

Moxie was a normal guy, you know? He bought ice cream for friends, he tried to do the right thing, and he always helped people in need. Who could blame him for that?
