For the first day of the challenge, we've gotta do first love! Make something for your oc and their first love.

Marigold Baggins didn’t think about love, well at least when it came to courting and romantic relationships. She wasn’t considered the most desirable lady in the shire, nor the most respectable. So, Marigold was more focused on exploring and dreaming about an adventure. One day a certain gray wizard ended up granting her wish, but what she didn't expect was to fall in love on that adventure.

Are you still taking drawing prompts? Because I just think it's so cute how the Human!Baylee/Bofur/Ran love triangle turned into, well... a love-triangle! And since some members of the pairing (thrairing?) are taller than others I think kisses would be very awkward and sweet... is that a good idea?

Heheh kisses with this throuple would actually be very awkward and sweet--there's nearly a foot's difference between Bofur and Ran (4'8" and 5'5" respectively (Ran is a half dwarf, half a human)) while human!Baylee's almost in the middle at 4'11"~ Bofur usually stands on his tiptoes to smooch Baylee while he practically needs a stool for Ran kisses.

Now, I know these aren't exactly kisses, but the right one is almost a kiss--so that's gotta count for something, right? ;D

Also omfg it's been so long since I drew human!Baylee OTL I'm not very happy with how she looks here but oh well she is still cute with her boyos and THAT is what matters

Notes for those who don't know: human!Baylee and Ran are from my fanfic, Azying, which is a rewrite of an older fic called Finding Their Place. These three weren't meant to be a throuple, but I am the Queen of OT3s, so yeah. It happened. Yes, I have two Baylees. Technically, hobbit!Baylee came first, but I turned her human for FtP/Azying. Then I was peer pressured into doing a hobbit!Baylee/Thorin fic, thus, the two Baylee. Also, human!Baylee ends up losing both her ringer fingers and may end up with facial scars like hobbit!Baylee. Only time will tell.

Once there had existed an alliance between elves and men.

Not just when it came to war, but with unions as well. The story of Beren and Luthien was well known to all, having produced a line of half-elves that took home in the Valley of Imladris. The line of Elrond and his sister Elowen were a product of that union, and so were all who came after. 

But while Elrond had chosen to live the life of most of his kin, his sister had chosen the opposite. For Elowen had fallen in love with a mortal man and chosen a mortal life, leaving her daughter in the care of Elrond himself, promising she would return one day. 

But she never did. And Elrond was tasked to look after the last reminder of his sister he had left. 

Arianwen was headstrong and powerful, more powerful than any of them knew, and she had spent her entire life behind the mountains and walls of Rivendell, kept safe and hidden from the world around her. 

But then a pack of orcs moves closer to their borders, and Arianwen is suddenly playing host to company of thirteen dwarves, a hobbit from the Shire, and her father’s old friend Gandalf the Grey.  But it is their quest that keeps her intrigued, and it is their quest she sacrifices everything for to join.

She’s heard the whispers between the ring bearers, the worry in Gandalf’s voice when he approaches her uncle for help, and she sees the determination in the Dwarf King’s eyes. 

Something is coming, and Arianwen refuses to stay hidden any longer.

Name: Pandora Pott

Species:  Fairy 

Likes: Using magic, tea cakes, flying around, nature, Spring

Dislikes: Being cold, feeling helpless, being undermined, messy things, wearing shoes

Personality: Kind, nurturing, sweet, loyal, passionate 

Ship: Bilbo Baggins

Side note(s):

This is more like a background on fairies than a side note. Fairies are very rare, peaceful creatures, they usually keep away from other races because other races are so quick to go to war over something. They’re usually very small, but can change into any size they wish at any point, and they age however they want but can only die when killed. Almost all fairies live in trees and sometimes flowers in a place called Fieldsberry, but sometimes they’re known to wander about all of Middle Earth

That’s how Pandora met Gandalf, and was convinced to go on the adventure with Thorin’s company (and Bilbo) to slay the dragon Smaug and reclaim the dwarf’s mountain The Lonely Mountain 

Not surprisingly at all, Bilbo and Pandora fall in love on the journey and she returns to Hobbiton with him once it’s over, where they marry

Likes: Learning new things, music, playing her flute, dancing, sunshine  

Dislikes: Bad attitudes, unfairness, thunder/lightning, impoliteness, ignorance

Side note(s):

Elves are usually taller than dwarfs (elves are around 6 foot and dwarfs are between 4 and 5 foot), but there have been cases of shorter elves, that’s what put her at almost 5 foot

Birthday (season): Fall

Species: Dwarf

Likes:  Wind chimes, horse rides, outdoors, naps, sweets

Dislikes: Extravagance, bare feet, arguments, feeling inferior, hot weather 

Personality: Kind, calm, gentle, delicate, clever 

Ship: Fili Durin

Side note(s):

Rather than use brawn, Celeste relies on quick thinking, which ends up helping her in the end

She mostly stayed with Bilbo during their journey, helping him learn to pickpocket until an unexpected orc attack that ended with her saving Fili’s life but getting a sprained ankle. Fili, feeling like it was his fault, offered to carry her until it healed and then got close because of that

Species: Dwarf

Likes:  Pretty swords/daggers, exploring, making wax seals, climbing trees, trying new things

Dislikes: Uptight people, sailing, drama, doing nothing, sewing

Side note(s):

Sienna knows every weapon like the back of her hand, and she definitely knows how to use them. 

That’s how she ended up going on the trip with Thorin’s company

Side note(s):

They originally met not long after Legolas’ mother died. Aster became his tutor and she and Thranduil became close. Legolas saw Aster as his mother so it wasn’t hard to explain to him

Likes:  Animals, candles, nice weather, cloud watching, going to the market 

Dislikes: Heights, hunting/killing, lightning, wearing shoes, gambling

Side note(s):

Iris first met Elrond when she stumbled into Rivendell (where he is the leader) begging for sanctuary from some witch hunters chasing her 

He of course offered protection then allowed her to stay in his palace until she figured out what to do and where to go. They became close and eventually she didn’t even want to leave so Elrond allowed her to continue staying with him

Species: Dwarf

Likes: Singing (especially with Bofur), simple jewelry, piggyback rides, horseback riding, making things

Dislikes: Sitting still, lots of reading, orcs, cold baths, extravagance

Personality: Adventurous, inquisitive, intelligent, caring, loyal

Ship: Bofur Rankin 

Side note(s):

Bofur and Gemma were married long before the quest to retake the Lonely Mountain

Just to be clear, Bofur is peak “that’s my wife!” energy and they are so devoted to each other. It would have taken a war to separate them for the quest 

Thorin was well aware of this so he didn’t try to stop her from coming along (she’s quick on her feet and very agile which helped them quite a bit so no one complained)

Name: Marina Willow 

Birthday (season): Summer 

Species: Half elf/half dwarf

Likes: Learning cultures, her flute, sweets, pretty fans, romance books

Dislikes: Getting dirty, chunky jewelry, tight shoes, too much noise, rain

Personality: Calm, clever, genuine, kind, doting

Side note(s):

Marina’s mother was an elf while her father was a dwarf. They went to the Undying Lands and left her alone when she was relatively young, but she lives with one of the neighboring families to Lord Elrond’s house

She’s very good friends with Arwen so she and Lindir saw a lot of each other before realizing that the found their One

Species:  Sorceress

Side note(s):

Roslyn is quite a small powerful sorceress almost as great as Lady Galadriel, Saruman and/or Gandalf himself. However, she chose to study under Radagast because he had few heavy expectations of her 

She met Bard when they were under attack by Smaug, having arrived just in time to use her magic to distract the dragon king enough for Bard to shoot him with the Black Arrow then helped Laketown by herding some fairies to aid in cleaning up the town and wounded 

Name: Astrea Nanina Elvellon

Birthday (season): Spring 

Species: Hobbit

Likes:  Crocheting, axes, playing her violin, fruits, poetry

Dislikes: Daggers, vegetables, ale (prefers wine), feeling unneeded, hail

I cannot stress enough that Astrea and Dwalin are literally polar opposites 

She’s extremely skilled with an axe, having been around Dwarves plenty of times when she traveled with her father (a merchant who sold to all races). Funnily enough that’s how she came to join the Company

And unlike her older brother, she quite likes an adventure. She’s honestly seen as an outcast amongst the Shire because she’s always off searching for something to do 

She’s an herbalist, specializing in healing so she’s basically one of the few healers in the Shire, which is how she managed to get into the Company of Thorin Oakenshield 

Name: Aurora Lucilia Goodchild

Species: Hobbit

Likes: Learning, astronomy, camping, sunsets, having free time

Not only that, but she also sort of grew up around the Dwarves because her family moved to the Blue Mountains when she was just a baby because there was a good business opportunity for her father. Unfortunately she and Fili didn’t really know each other before the quest began 

Thorin (reluctantly) allowed her to join because not only does she know enough languages to help them on the way, but she was a great tracker and knew how to read the stars to point them in the right direction.

So sorry to hear you're in a funk! 🫂 I want to help by offering a doodle idea, but I haven't had a chance to read your Baylee fics yet.

The only relatively interesting idea I can offer is a loose crossover with your OC and mine. One of my Mirkwood princes (Legolas's brother), Gelir is known to travel extensively, almost like a Ranger, and in Thranduil's family he is the one who formed significant/multiple friendships with Hobbits.

Maybe a scene where Baylee is hanging out somewhere by a campfire or sharing a meal with Prince Gelir. He looks a lot like Legolas, but his appearance and attire is more outdoorsy and rugged. A cross between Legolas and Strider if that helps. 😂

Just a random suggestion that you can dismiss or run with if it inspires you! I hope your down period passes soon. Get some rest and go easy on yourself! 💚

probably the funniest thing i ever did as a kid was try to convince anyone who'd listen to me infodump about my favorite media that my ocs were actual canon characters in the story and then if they expressed genuine interest in checking it out i'd panic and be like no you Can't and just never speak to them again
