I knew Martha only had one series and I was still devastated to see her go. I can only imagine how heartbroken I would have felt to realise she wasn't staying.

Pat Monahan said he wrote "Drops of Jupiter" about his mother's death: "she died of cancer ‘cause she smoked cigarettes. Her downfall was Coca-Cola and Winstons. I went to bed and after just a few minutes I woke up and had the lyrics “Back in the atmosphere.” Obviously [the] loss of the most important person in my life was heavy on my mind, and the thought of 'Hey, what if no one ever really leaves? What if you’re here, but different'... “Drops of Jupiter” was as much about me being on a voyage, trying to find out who I am too, through all of this.
