In the dream, she commits a graphic murder of a neighbor whose life she is envious of and awakes to a real-life criminal investigation into the murder of her neighbour)
Oasis of Fear 1971
(Two pornography-peddling hippies from Italy run out of material to sell, so they start taking "dirty pictures" of each other to add to their stock of smut. While on the run from the authorities in Sweden, the pair get invited to the home of a middle-aged woman named Barbara, the wife of a NATO colonel. She involves them first in sexual games, then later in a convoluted murder plot)
The Devil Has Seven Faces 1971
(Carroll Baker plays a dual role in this film, two identical twins named Julie and Mary. While in Holland, Julie begins receiving threats from some mysterious men who attempt to kidnap her, and one of them menaces her while wearing a gorilla mask. They are confusing her with her twin sister Mary in London, who stole a massive diamond from a Maharaja and even betrayed her husband Craig, who was in on the heist)

it’s giallo month in our house, and we’re starting w/ forbidden photos of a lady above suspicion ! beautifully shot w/really great color use so far.
we’re also kind of unintentionally on a “repressed woman” kick (belle de jour, twilight…) and the synopsis implies this is following that trend

Le foto proibite di una signora per bene (The Forbidden Photos of a Lady Above Suspicion, 1970)
"If you want to know why your husband has sent you here, I can tell you."
"If you try to tell me that my husband has a lover, I will never believe you! We are one."
"Your husband doesn't cheat on you. He's a murderer."
#The Forbidden Photos of a Lady Above Suspicion#Le foto proibite di una signora per bene#Giallo#italian cinema#films i done watched#Luciano Ercoli#Ernesto Gastaldi#Dagmar Lassander#Pier Paolo Capponi#Simón Andreu#Osvaldo Genazzani#Salvador Huguet#Nieves Navarro#Ennio Morricone#Mahnahén Velasco#1970#knife tw#A relatively early giallo this which was surprising because its simply so confident and self assured. A typical Gastaldi script sees the#Screenwriter already starting to play with the tropes and ideas of a genre which was still really in its infancy; there's some very#Skillful misdirection going on here particularly in regards to who exactly is involved in the skullduggery going on. Also notable is the#Relatively reserved approach director Ercoli takes; not in a visual sense (this is as stylish as gialli can get with some beautiful stuff#Being done with light and darkness; Lassander aside characters are often shot partly or entirely obscured by darkness and sometimes in#Silhouette really hammering home that mysterious paranoid feeling) but in terms of blood and nudity this is surprisingly chaste. That's not#To suggest this isn't a seedy and uncomfortable plot (it very much is; unpleasant indeed) but Ercoli keeps his focus on the mental effects#Rather than gratuitous visuals and it works in the films favour. Definitely a superior example of the genre. Omg I haven't even mentioned#How iconic Navarro is in this film. Inviting your best friend over for a slideshow of your own professionally shot nudes? Icon#Discussing her taste in pornography with a police commissioner she's only just met? And the beautiful dresses? Amazing. She owns this film
