I enjoy how Perry is just completely chill with Phineas and Ferbs abilities.
It’s like:
*Lawrence being weird and kissing paintings, Linda being a retired pop star, phineas and ferb breaking the laws of physics, and Candace banging her fists on the ground like a gorilla trying to bust them* 😱🤯🫠
*Perry knowing he’s by far the weirdest one in the family* 😌

Thinking about Perry shortly after being adopted by the Flynn-Fletchers being like “whoa, I’m not just Agent P anymore. I like, actually have a name now” and him taking a lot of pride in that. Showing up to work like “guess what, I’m Perry now. The P used to stand for platypus but now it stands for Perry :)”

When you think about it, the fact that Reginald is a daredevil who isn't easily fazed by anything kind of explains a lot about Ferb and Lawrence. He skateboards, tried to jump a gorge, and can fly a plane. He's really got a lot of tricks up his sleeves, so Ferb having a lot of random skills makes sense too.
Lawrence isn't really phased by anything including his sons making all sorts of implausible things. He spent his childhood letting his younger brother beat him in all sorts of absurd contests, so him having weird skills makes sense too. Especially if he was raised by his father who participated in these hobbies. While I don't think he's "capable" in the same way as Reginald and Ferb, coming across as more of an airhead, he's not unskilled per se. Lawrence may not be as technically savvy as Phineas and Ferb, but he isn't completely hopeless there either, as seen in the things he DOES build or show a capacity to built.
So of while Ferb is of course quite and doesn't emote as clearly as them, he still has the same nonchalant nature. The Fletchers are just fearless, a penchant for learning and mastering various obscure skills, and fun loving. Of course Lawrence wouldn't be fazed by Phineas and Ferb, maybe he didn't do anything quite as wild as a kid, but her probably got into some pretty wild situations.
Of course Phineas is also really hard to faze too, which is part of why he and Ferb are joined at the hip. Though this isn't JUST a Fletcher thing.
Clyde is also a bit eccentric, though he has Phineas's more cheerful, eccentric, obliviousness if that makes sense, and Candace has her grandmother's violent obsessiveness. Both Flynn grandparents are fun loving and passionate who are always up for shenanigans.
Tiana is an adventurer herself, doing all sorts of exciting things. Which makes sense if she grew up with her nature loving parents who enjoy shenanigans. There's thrill seekers on the Flynn and Fletcher sides of the family.
All this said, while Linda is supernaturally oblivious to her sons shenanigans she has her own wild past with being a pop star and a background in astrophysics.
I feel it's also worth mentioning that as an adult, Linda is still expanding her skill set by taking a cooking class and participating in a Jazz group. The parents once went spelunking just because. Lawrence gives lectures in addition to selling antiques. The parents don't do just one thing. So their children's diverse passionate interests match that.
The real question is why Linda would be fazed by her sons inventions but that's a whole other issue.

hey so i submitted the flynn-fletcher family from phineas and ferb, but i wanted to ask, does family by marriage still count? cuz like yeah, legally speaking they’re step-siblings/step-parents, but they still *chose* to consider that no different from bio family members. like, they could consider their parents as “mom and her husband” “dad and his wife” or differentiate between siblings/step siblings, like candace could say “my annoying little brother and step-brother” but instead she just considers them “annoying little brothers”, period. and none of them even spare a second thought for their bio parents that aren’t in the picture, outside of a one-off gag in the star wars special when candace says “wait, mom remarried? what happened to dad” and phineas says “oh! funny story actually! y’see—“ *cue death star exploding*
anyways yeah tl;dr: they might be related by marriage as opposed to fully found family, but they don’t think of each other as any different from bio relation, and they’re one of the most iconic families in cartoon history, so it would be cool if they counted imo
Hmm. Well, I personally probably wouldn't have counted them as found family, because they're legally related, I guess. But I'm gonna let the people decide.

Vote @ tournament-winners-tournament
PERRY is currently losing to Lilo. If y'all care, then get over there and fix that. I voted him already purely based off the fact that the help from the pnf Fandom gave Ingo and Emmet a good boost in the autism poll. I also convinced all 7 of my friends to vote for Perry based on that as well.
So if any of y'all feel like throwing a vote to Emmet in his poll based off of that, it would be much appreciated! The poll has like 16 hours left, so hurry on over. Hope Perry wins!

Okay add to my list of "This better be in the new seasons or I'll riot" episodes:
I need a Linda-centric episode where she either almost discovers or DOES discover Perry's identity and then some shenanigans make her forget
Every other member of the Flynn-Fletcher family has discovered Perry's secret at one point or another. Hell, we've had scares with Jeremy and Buford as well, and OBVIOUSLY we've got Stacy under the belt.
The closest Linda has come is the scene where they pull up next to each other at a red light and Perry throws a fake mustache and glasses on.
And Linda has the BEST opportunity to discover him outside of the kids (who hang out with him more and ALSO hang out with Vanessa semi-regularly)
Picture please: she and Charlene have a girls day of some kind, but before they start Charlene has to swing by Doofs for some reason or another and one of two things happens - either she and Doof recognize each other and awkward shenanigans ensue, or they DONT recognize each other but she and Charlene get roped into whatever scheme he's doing
Perry is of course over it all.
Fantastic plot is RIGHT THERE and if they don't give us at least one Linda-centric episode I'm gonna lose it

I’m not sure if that much thought was really put into it or not but it’s actually quite the genius move to give the Flynn-Fletchers (a blended family) a platypus for a pet. Because just like the Flynn-Fletchers, Perry is a blend of different animal traits. He has fur and a broad tail like a beaver but he also has webbed feet and a bill like a duck. He can walk on land and he can swim in water. He is certainly an unusual pet, but the family never even mentions how strange it is to own a platypus because to them, it’s not strange at all. Perry just fits right in. And it’s just such a smart and wholesome decision to have the blended Flynn-Fletchers own a “blended” pet who works so well for the family dynamic that viewers are like “yep, they own a platypus. That makes perfect sense.” Especially when you consider why Perry was adopted by them in the first place. He was only chosen because he was looking at both Phineas and Ferb. They wanted a pet to work for both of them, who liked both of them, and Perry fit the bill because he’s just like them

When Candace says she and her brothers were "Great friends" to Amanda in Quantum Boogaloo, all things considered she wasn't wrong. As far as 15 year old sisters and 10 year old brothers go they are very close.
She may often get upset with them, but they rarely do at her, and Candace's ire with them doesn't always process in their minds. They don't actually argue often, and when they do its usually pretty brief and quickly addressed.
Candace CHOOSES to spend time with them, doing things like playing skiddley whiffers and watching movies with them. (Which is a lot all things considered for two sets of kids at different stages in their life with different interests). Not to mention the big ideas, like circumnavigating the globe, and going to space, and singing as pop stars. And they do things like trick out a car for her and build her a phone and build her a rocket ship for her just because.
Not to mention that single summer isn't really reflective of their WHOLE childhood. It's definitely meant a joke, adult Candace looking back with rose colored glasses, but in all fairness, we the audience only have a snapshot of at most a year of their childhood. And even within that snapshot we see that, yeah, for all that the show focuses on Candace's beef with her little brothers, they get along really well.
That said, it is definitely the pot calling the kettle black because it's not as though Amanda gets along any worse with her brothers than her mom and uncles. We see less of Amanda, but all things considered it does seem that her beef with her brothers is relatively one sided. It seems that she WANTS to spend time with her brothers. They just don't want to do anything.
