"The Church is not the assembly of saints, it is the mass of sinners who repent, who, sinners though they are, have turned towards God and are oriented towards Him."

Dearest Everybody,
One of the coolest events of my entire life is happening. The fine folks at the superior Severin Films invited me to write the essays to accompany their upcoming Black Friday releases of Michele Soavi's THE CHURCH, THE SECT, and DELLAMORTE DELLAMORE aka CEMETERY MAN. If you have been around for any length of time, you know that I think DELLAMORTE DELLAMORE is legitimately one of the greatest movies ever made, and it is also deeply personal to me; I've been developing my thoughts about it for...more than 25 years, I think, and it meant everything to me to be able to publish them as part of Severin's best-in-class catalog. I mean, don't miss THE CHURCH or THE SECT either; the latter is the rarest of the three, and I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that it is one of the weirdest things I have ever seen in my life.
I can hardly believe that Severin made space for me to deliver what is basically my life's work, on the extremely great and underrated Michele Soavi. And thanks a lot, also, if you've been a Blogtober reader for any amount of time. I've been toiling in obscurity here for many years and I would continue to write compulsively even in a vacuum, but the encouragement of my friends and fans (can I even say that? idk) definitely helped me get to a place where I was even remotely qualified for this task. My heart is full. I think I can actually die now.
But actually, not until Black Friday when this stuff comes out! Check out the specs, these releases are going to be amazing. (Sorry if these IG links look all fucked up in this post, please do click through and have a look at the goods). And thanks again, for everything.
Your pal, Claire Donner
